Reviews Summary

The reviews show a mixed experience. Many praise the friendly, professional staff and efficient process when things go well. However, frequent complaints highlight severe understaffing, long wait times (often 2-4 hours), inconsistent phlebotomist skill leading to bruising, unhonored promotions, and poor management responsiveness. Some donors feel misled by scheduling or payment issues. While positive experiences emphasize cleanliness and caring staff, negative ones cite frustration with overbooking, declining service quality, and inadequate compensation for time invested.

No stars given (but couldn't post without a minimum) and I would give negative stars if I could. Went in this past Thursday morning as a first time donor. Halfway through the procedure the machine stopped and they were not able to replace the blood after taking the plasma out. I asked what happened and the tech didnt really say more than Im not sure but it happens. A gentlemen laying across from me also had the same thing happen where they couldnt complete the procedure. I left the facility

Not worth the risk, health wise they're putting blood thinner in you to extract your plasma, then for the next 3days your exhausted from your body trying to replenish your plasma and get rid of the chemicals. $50 isn't worth it only if your down bad with know other options. When they do they promotions at $100-120 is it decent but that's at your yearly exams you can make 800 in a month only time I really go

I started coming here as a new donor recommended by a coworker. I have to say had a few not pleasant moments with a needle at first but today gentleman named Jerrar I believe did awesome I haven't felt any pain. In the future if he's here I will wait for him. Overall place is clean most of employees are friendly.

I visited once & after six hours did they finally discovered that a med I had recently stopped taking wasn't long enough so I was told to get my doctor?s authorization in writing stating I'd been off the med long enough & to bring it with me next time I came. Upon my second time coming with the proper paperwork I was told that there was no one available to verify the paperwork that day as they only come 2-3 days a week so I could not donate but was assured they would call me as soon as it had been verified.

It was quick and efficient and the ladies are always so friendly? is what I used to say! I have been coming here for 5 years and today they defeated me because of a mistake they made four years when I've been donating continuously since then! What horrible customer service!

I have been donating frequently for about 18 months and have never had a bad experience. Staff is professional and attentive. The process is well organized and done with highest priority on donor safety. App works well and payment is prompt.

screens are not calibrated right so when you push a button it goes to the other one.. You'll be sitting there after your plasma's drum for at least 10 minutes before they unhook you or it may even skip you and go to somebody else.they need a better system to who is next to be helped and if you set up an appointment doesn't matter you will be waiting at 15 -30 before you can be checked in to see a nurse no sents of time

Well run, professional and caring center. They teat the donors with the utmost care and respect. My experience there has been extremely positive. I love that I am able to help someone in need. BioLife Plasma donation centers are amazingly professional and caring. I would recommend this facility to both my family and friends.

The condescending attitude of several "nurses" has been off putting, to say the least. For some reason it's a half hour to get spiked. The frequent long line and system seem a bit much for a company valued at 100billion and growing. The value to inconvenience is low. The money to time and inconvenience ratio is askew. I don't believe u or ur company will do anything to make the client satisfied, I have yet to have a human pick up the phone and respond to a message let alone answer the phone at ringing. The

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I really wish they were more upfront about the qualifications to donate before wasting hours of someone's time... I went through the whole process of registering to donate only to be turned away halfway through the physical because I am on antidepressants for anxiety and depression. I was told I need a doctor's note basically saying I'm mentally stable enough to donate because I "might have an anxiety attack and rip the needle out my arm" as said by the doc

Can I please get in contact with someone to speak about a phlebotomist at this location. I spoke to SOD and was told I can make a ?case?. I've been coming here for about a year on and off and it's been great until 3 weeks ago a phlebtomist inserted the needle wrong and I've had many complications since then.

These people are liars they say their policy is if they don't have eyes on you but their facility has cameras outside all I wanted was money to pay my bills I answered the questions properly Don't trust these people they will leave you bruised, sick, in discomfort. The manager is a big white man he is racist he doesn't care about patients circumstances and conditions The representatives all judge you while they miss the correct puncture site If you wanna leave healthy and Pais don't go to this facility.

If I'm being honest. This place is nice. Have been going sporadically since they opened up. The waits not long if you get there at 2-3pm. Weekends are not bad either. But the quality of phlebotomist has went down. They seem distracted a lot of time talking while sticking people. My last phlebotomist wrapped the puncture site so tight that it started to dig into my skin and left red marks. The past other few times the wrap was done poorly where I started leaking blood the minute I got in my car and drove off

I pretty much like all the staff but I'd like to thank Rudy for his professionalism, his courtesy and all around great job, all of you Thanks!

I was told my proteinwas low by 1%. I had to go in n donate blood. I called back to check on the status and was told.by the nurse 14 days b4 n answer. I said what about my promotion ??. She says it will not be valid. I said really yeah but you can come back when we get a the results. I go to another location and they said my protein was ?? fine Pissed

Aneesha was friendly as always, smile in her face, poke with no pain. Lily took care of me checking out, one of my favorites. Everyone in the Addison center is so nice.

There were issues w my initial intake and physical. They made me reschedule for practically no reason at all and wasted a whole day. Nothing was explained whatsoever The next day I came and they forgot to include the new member bonuses, so I never got paid the money I was owed. The supervisor on staff reassured me they would he applied, the person helping me after the donation was done told me it would be applied, but it never was The same thing happened the next day This place owes me based off the pro

Came here on Monday for my second donation, and the phlebotomist was poking at my left arm. Didn't tell me what was going on, she just kept moving the needle. She was talking to a male phlebotomist telling him how she wanted to go because she had been there since 6 am. So clearly not paying attention. After a few hours when I took the bandage off there was a huge bruise left. This is it after two days. Due to this bruise at my third donation, I had to use my right arm and was left with an even bigger bruise

Really easy process. The reps explain everything to you and they make your first time there very easy. Highly recommend. I went here to donate plasma because I have a family member with a medical condition that needs it so it's kinda my way of giving back but the money is good too.

Subject: Complaint Regarding My Recent Donation Experience Dear Biolife Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent donation experience at your Addison center. As a returning donor with 14 or 15 prior donations, I have always valued the professionalism and care provided, but my visit today was far below the standard I have come to expect. Upon arrival, I was met with an unsanitary and unprofessional scene?a toilet seat covered in blood with the door wide open, marked onl

All, It's been almost a year since I have been donating plasma at the Addison IL location. Of late, during the week of March 3, 2025, I was very lucky to have the Phlebotomist Technician, Brianna in the Silver Pod. She is very well trained, has excellent qualities and her attention to detail is Great! I wish I could always have Brianna be there for all my donations. P.S. Front Technicians Denise and Laycee are very pleasant, too. Thanks everyone! Sondra

Hello my name is Anthony and Ashley was an amazing worker usually i feel a slight pain when I'm getting sticked to donate but i literally blink and she was done and I've been a consistent donor for years and she was the best experience I've had ever i would highly recommend her if you're visiting the Addison location if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to here she is very welcoming while other employees sit around and chat and curse out loud she is being productive polite an

BioLife is great I have donated 5 times now with no wait. The process is very fast also. I have never had any trouble with bruising they are very professional

I really enjoyed donating in November, it takes almost an hour to drive to my local biolife. But when I checked my most recent monetary compensation I only received $40 ($37 to be exact) and therefore could only take out $20. I used to receive $100 for each visit - when I tried calling/emailing, no one responded. Now get promotional emails about receiving $120 if you go 2x in one week, whereas before I'd receive $200 (which was nice to supplement my income.) I won't be driving an hour to receive $40, then $

I have been coming twice a week for about a year now. I've had issues in the past but never quite like this. I donated last Thursday I believe it was, my 2nd time of the week so I was supposed to get $70, and I never received it. Try calling the phones but nobody EVER picks up, so I guess I just donated for free without my consent !

So why are the donation rates getting so low. I donated quite often in past the money helped pay for things I needed. I would understand if this was a nit for profit business but that's not the case. I feel doners are being taken advantage of. This needs to stop.

It's not right refusing to unhook a donor telling her she has to wait till she reach 600 ML. Hardwood heights location does not force donors stay on the machine if it's not working constantly stopping every 5 minutes. Management needs to handle this crew this can be a law sue coming

The process was fast and easy. The staff are very nice and professional. Each staff member that I spoke with was very informative and explained what they were doing. I felt comfortable and at ease while donating my plasma.

changing my review to 5 stars. opening on Mondays made a big difference. in and out in about one hour. Thanks to Brandon and Daisy two of the best phlebotomists in Addison team

One of the Phlebotomist is upset because a customer didn't hear her when she said ?next to red? and she made a nasty dirty look at him as if he was stupid. Not only that..she started to talk about customers with coworkers. Very unprofessional.

The last 3 times I have gone to donate the place was so packed with 15 people in line to be checked on and then another 15-20 waiting to donate. This time check-in went fast but again there were 15-20 people waiting to donate with 2 stations closed and not being used. Staff are amazing but this overbooking with no consideration to the donators is ridiculous

Its always a great service.. if only they could pay more ($50)($60) 1st n 2nd visit for the wk

Read those promotions they send you very carefully. Ended up only getting $40 after over a year of not donating. But they keep sending me promotions as if I'm eligible. Come to find out it's only if you've never donated. They need to just stop sending emails out to people who they know have been there. My only reason for coming as the promotion my time is worth far more than $40!! Beware of these cheap corporations they make plenty off of us and can't even take care of their donors. I will never be back or

This place is so peaceful and the staff are kind polite positive and professional,I even got paid while I was still giving blood, their timing is perfect. They are hard working and fast.thank you Biolife staff for you help

The blood draw was poorly taken, and while the staff is professional, I find that the process can be botched regularly with me. I hope others find an easier take process.

How long do I have to wait for my vitals to get checked again after being sent to sit for recheck , I saw a huge wave of people go after I sat. I was sat down for almost an hour and at the end had to end up leaving my 6:25 at 7:10 without being seen ??.

Their screens are all broken, dysfunctional. They record the wrong answers. The place is nice but very frusterating. Bad monitors.

This location is right down the street from me. It used to be pretty solid. The lines were often a bit long, but manageable. However, the last couple weeks have just gotten out of hand. They overbook like crazy. It is not uncommon to see 20 or even 30 people in line (yes, I counted). I now drive close to 30 minutes further just to go to a different location, and it is great---they don't overbook to the point that you have to wait in line for 20-80 minutes just to get tested, and then wait in another, often

Don't listen to other reviews. They're always backed up. My first day took over 3 hours, and my second appointment that I made was so backed up there were 12 people in line before me so I left and quit. I've never been more upset I've put so much time and driven so far for the worst service. The people at the front desk are also extremely rude and talk down to everyone.

They have no staff and terrible wait times. Haf the stations are closed by 4 and employees walk around talking. They do not have a care in the world for your time here. Don't go until they stop booking so many people. You will wait in line for an hour before you get to you machine, then wait to be hooked up, then wait to be unhooked. My husband books 2x a week and is gone for 3 hours. There is no accountability. It's inconsiderate.

Some of the people hooking you up to donate are really good, others not so much. I was told they would extend my new donor bonus due to issues beyond my control, bruising, bleeding from the site of the needle in my arm etc. They are now saying that they cannot and will add $20 to each of my next two donations. They owe me $55 so this is not acceptable. Unless you have two to three hours to wait, I do not recommend going here.

Their scheduling practices are awful. They consistently jam the Addison IL location full of donors without having enough staff to move people through the process efficiently. I had a 9am appointment this morning, arrived early, finished my screening, and still waited over an hour to get in a chair. The staff is over worked and under appreciated. They're doing the best they can under the circumstances. It's the management who are COMPLETELY unresponsive to these concerns despite multiple emails. None of wh

I have had nothing but positive, supportive interactions with the intake folks and the draw personnel. They are always friendly, engaging, showing warmth and concern for my well-being. I can not say the same for the nursing staff. I have had several encounters with them (more than one) when issues arise, including today, when I was told that a health form that I had submitted nearly two weeks earlier had not been seen or approved by a doctor, despite my receiving a call five days earlier saying that it h

This is my very last time donating, the pay is low compared to competitors and the wait time is excessive. You'll end up waiting 15-20 min just for your blood pressure and blood sample, and at least another 30min to be seated. Oh and add another 15 or so min to be hooked up. By the time you finish your donation and walk out you have about 2 hrs into it or more. Not worth it for $40

Service sucks. pay is low.... but everyone is here for something else, so skip the gym next door, cause the ladies here are ready, lots of slots!!!

Alot of the staff don't seem to care about their job. They just stand around and talk and walk everywhere don't have no sense of urgency at all. I don't blame them most of them are kids. Alot of laziness and standing around. Can't stand that. I was just here and I was waiting on a nurse for over 15 min. This isn't the hospital. Urgency is non existent here and it's pretty sad to see how desperate people get and they're just waiting.

Pretty terrible. The place takes forever to donate. If u go to donate you can expect a MINIMUM of 2.5 hours. 3.5 is far more common though I've experienced 4+ more than once. I believe they are iegally discriminating. I believe they need to be investigated. Let me explain I donate with my wife. Her ex husband and 2 others we referred. So we have 5 people to examine the pay. I donate 904 units every time ( the max). Wife donates 680. Her ex donates 850. Again that's THE MOUNT DONATED. My wife and her ex get

Girl could have robbed me, didn't. 5/5

The staff here is fantastic. I've been going to the facility since the first day it opened. It's a great feeling when you walk into an establishment and everybody knows you by name. You do have to wait from time to time, but the more you come the more you realize when people aren't coming. Best way to get Some extra cash. Ms Donna really does a good job in making sure ppl get in and out.

Great music literally knew every song. Staff is also friendly

The first few months coming here were great. My last few visits not so much. Extremely understaffed for the amount of appointments scheduled. I waited for over 2 hours today in line with 30+ people ahead of me. Due to the shortage of staff , I've noticed the usual friendly workers are now (understandably) much more rude. Until they get their stuff figured out I wouldn't recommend coming here, unless you enjoy waiting in lines for hours and being treated with an attitude.

Very good experience and very nice staff!! I am always happy when I go and happy when I leave!! I love helping people who need the help!! Keep up the great work!!!!

Lean (physical specialist nurse) was GREAt. She was friendly and informative and treated me like a human being. She made my first experience very seemless and easy and enjoyable Ashley ( technician) was awesome. Super friendly and calming to someone who may be nervous about donating for the first time. Overall I had a great experience. My hope is that these two will be recognized for their efforts because they went above and beyond!

Honestly, do not recommend coming here if you have anything else planned for your day. You will be waiting at least a minimum hour before you can see a phlebotomist and then still have to donate after the fact and this is if you're recurring donor not just a new donor because if you're a new donor you're above everybody instead of the people who are waiting there for a hour. They need a new system so that it puts the people who come back above the new donors. Plus should be first come first serve. Not new d

Went to this location. Had a disturbing experience with an employee that wasn't too experienced in her line of work and her conduct. I was being nice to her. We discussed about my ring ?? being that I'm married then it took an ugly twist when she was blurting out as I had said something out of line to her as if I was fluirting with her in which I NEVER did!! I went again today for my last donation, (11/2/2024). Of course, she continued to look at me with an attitude. SMH ???? Do not know where they find th

The staff was very nice and they made me feel comfortable. Also I got paid immediately after donating

Donating twice in 7 days is a bit physically challenging, but the staff at BioLife take health and donor safety very seriously. I've had them personally reach out after a donation to follow up on small health issues (bruising). Every time I've been here, it's been efficient and well run. Not sure I can be a consistent donor for physical reasons unless they become more flexible with donation goals (twice in 7 days), but I would recommend BioLife.

How in the world does this show 4 stars for this place. Plan to spend half of your day here. It's ridiculous how they keep booking people but obviously horribly understaffed. I'll go to Vitalant or Red Cross, no thank you. Update: still a mess. A joke. If you have nothing to do and are broke, I guess it's great. If you don't have 3 hours to waste, do not come here. They leave a standard bot response to reach out to their customer service email and it ends there with no response. I've emailed twice. They boo

This used to be a great spot until they started EXTREMELY overbooking, adding new donor promos, etc. the lines are rediculous (often times out the door) with only 2 stations open. Their promo also constantly decreases with longer wait times. Sessions used to be an hour in and out the door, whereas now you're there for 3 hours minimum. Don't waste your time here for minimal pay.

This place is a joke, the most unprofessional center I've ever been too. The staff are not properly trained to stick people I had BOTH of my arms bruise up from blood clots and bruising this has never happened to me before in my life!! On top of that they would not honor my promotion because I gave them the promotion code while I was actually donating I forgot to give them the code at the front desk. They put my promotional code in WHILE I was sitting in the donation chair and ASSURED ME that I would get my

The only thing sweeter than Ashley's scent, is her personality. Very warm, kind and welcoming. It's overtly apparent that she enjoys making her patients comfortable while maintaining poise and professionalism in the face of what she has to do every day. You could use about 10 more of her.

This facility is awesome. Great staff very welcoming and caring. Ashley is so perfesonal person she's so personable and checks up on you. I love that. ??

This was my first experience at the Addison center, I normally go to the Villa Park center. I'm normally in and out of the Villa Park Center within about an hour or less. My timeline of walking in the door to do my survey to then wait in line again and get checked in and then wait in line again fours chair was over half an hour total. It was just longer than expected when I usually am out within an hour. From start to finish I was there for just over two hours with my appointment being just before 8 AM and

Very courteous, very professional. Smooth arm sticks for the most part. Very satisfied donating here would definitely recommend and have to all who would be interested.

it took forever each time I was there. on the third time, an unqualified person hurt me, and we couldn't proceed. on the fourth time, they wasted an hour of my time checking me and talking to the nurse because of the bruise the previous phlebotomist gave me. Again, I wasted my time instead of training the person at fault. over all am am glad my first time doner offer was completed, but i would never donate for less than 100$ per donation. it is not worth to waist a couple of hours and your plasma for a lo

I really felt good about my donation. It's easy to look around and understand the impact this makes on people and getting paid is easy and safe. I was treated well by the staff and every step showed attention to detail and my health.

The whole staff is extremely friendly and even the people going there are so nice!

This has been, always will be, my SPOT to donate plasma. The attendings are very customer oriented. They handle all new donors just as they do the returning donors. The maintenance of cleanliness of the facility, as well as the equipment, is always above and beyond. Every attending that helped me actually sees me as a person. They are people, very personal and hospitable, and care about any questions and concerns you may have. They do everything in their power to satisfy the needs of their patients. I'd giv

This place is constantly in chaos. Either their new trainees are never fully trained or they are looking for ways to not set up their stations. The lines are constantly getting longer and the staff cannot handle the pressure. I was there for 4 hours before having my physical, and was not able to donate as I had to leave. The nurse NEVER mentioned you had a 7 day window to donate or you would have to do the physical all over again. Keep in mind that when you schedule the physical and donation appointment i

It was my first time donating at the Addision Center. I was nervous but I luckily had Alex, one of the supervisors, reassure me that I'd have a good experience. He was patient, explained things and I felt like I was in very good hands. He surely stood out as a great person who is friendly, professional and he definitely cares about people!!

Fast kind, and helpful. Would recommend if in the Chicago area ??

I know you aren't supposed to take photos during the donation process, but I took this selfie to mark the time i started donating. I'm a 20 year old 150 pound male and i donated almost 700mL my last two donations which takes me 40 minutes upon getting plugged up with the donation needle. I enjoy donating here because the facilities are always clean, there's two clean bathrooms, and the nurses are friendly, knowledgeable about what is going on, and it is very routine whenever i donate! granted i have large

The whole staff is extremely nice and polite. Greg has a great bedside manner and was quick and efficient while helping me. Alex was quick to address my concerns an assure me that everything was going according to plan. They make my experience here a pleasant one!

Jackie and Celeste made my experience an absolute breeze. After expressing some concerns, Jackie responded with grace and tact, quickly putting me at ease. Celeste was personable, professional, and doing great during her training. Love this location!

There is always a very long wait in green section waiting for a chair. Currently 13 people in front of me. They need to hire!! Im sticking with the Villa Park location. 20 minute drive vs 5 min drive but you are in and out quickly and safely. Lesson learned.

I was turned away after 45 minutes of waiting in line because the little tube used when pricking my finger busted not once but twice when they spun it. Some user error or machine error and i was told they couldnt do it a third time on the same day. Annoying and inconvenient after a full day of seeing patients of my own and then waiting for nearly an hour !

Google says this place closes at 5pm on Saturdays but when I came in at 3:45pm I was told that they had already closed at 3pm. But the doors were not locked. I wasted a lot of gas coming here. The only reason I and anyone else comes in is because we're tight on money so this didn't help at all.

I've been trying to get a hold of a nurse for almost a month. I had a problem with my heart rate being to rapid so they gave me a sheet for my doctor to fill out. My doctor filled it out and faxed it. Never once no one called me so I made an appointment 2weeks after it was sent thinking it was ok to. I go there and I couldn't donate said the nurse still haven't looked at my paper but it was in the system. To wait on the nurse to called to book an appointment. Two more weeks go by nothing. I called them now

I was here for 6 hours. Not sure if I will come back, but there were a few highlights. Yesenia was my nurse who conducted the plasma donation. She made it comforting and calm. She did great! Joanne was the supervisor and was extremely helpful and nice. The nurse that gave me the physical was very nice and informative. Her name is escaping me at the moment. Over all, the staff was amazing! 5 stars.

The place is clean, the people are professional and welcoming. The staff is on point and attentive to their donors and make you feel at ease while you donate. Stay hydrated they appreciate it and so will you. Perfect from the beginning to the end.

Terrific organization. It's wonderful to get cash for donations. They have a terrific and easy system. Initial promotion is terrific. I have not given subsequent to the initial promotion due to the lower compensation. I will consider donating again when the promotion Is at least $80 per.

Overall it's a good place and experience, however some things can be frustrating. They don't always get to you in a timely manner once you get a seat to get everything started, or come to unhook you upon completion. I've waited up to 15 minutes multiple times in these scenarios. Also, I had an appointment recently and didn't go because there was a line out the door. I don't know if they overbooked or what, but it was frustrating to drive the 20 minutes only to turn around and drive home.

I had a good experience both times. No complaints ??

Well during my first donation, I told the representative that my left arm would not be good. She went with the left arm anyway. After about 45 minutes, she realized she should change to the right arm, and she did. After that, it went Great!!! Second donation was done of my right arm and went wonderfully. Third donation did not happen. I was told that I had a bruise (That they caused) I could not donate. After all the numerous intrusive questions EACH TIME, that I truly understand and the finger pricking, I

Weird business practice and if I could review Biolife as a whole I would. They need to clarify the below on their website because gas isn't cheap. Don't waste your time if: -you're on PrEP (makes you ineligible) -got a tattoo or piercing within 4 months (website is misleading) I waited 3 hours because they were short staffed, that's understandable. But why waste people's times by not being direct? I have no actual problem with the facility or the staff but again... weird business practice. Just be honest o

The wait here is horrible. You wait in line for an hour or more before you even get put on the machine. They have these appointments to close together. And they're so short staffed here. I have been to multiple BioLifes and this location is by far the worst one for waiting. I would give it a one because of how long it takes to get put on the machine. But all the staff is nice here so that's why I give it two.

I had an exceptional experience today. After answering pre-screening questions I was 10th in line to be screened. That line moved relatively fast as there were 4 screeners. Fortunately there were no call-offs on this day. Screener Cassandra was friendly, professional & thorough.
