It took an hour and a half just to finally START DONATING. Longer to finally leave. An extra hour. It was stupid, I've been to other centers and Max, I'll be an hour and I'm in and done. Don't go here, go to another
They don't have childcare anymore. They see me coming in with my kid (5 yrs old, not a baby), make me wait for a while to tell me I can't complete the physical (donation, I get it) because I have my kid. How can they be so inefficient!? I was willing to wait for the actual donation, but really, the physical can totally be done with a kid. Don't even apologize and just ask me to reschedule like nothing happened. Poor service, to say the least?.
THIS PLACE IS SO BAD! They need to hire more and train them to be more efficient and effective because it takes a long time in the line, to be connect, to be disconnect. Today I had to wait 30 minutes to be disconnect, while I watched the worker just talking to her coworker and been ignored when I raised my hand. The people here is very nice but their greatest talent is doing everything too slow
Go somewhere else!! I've been to several different plasma centers in the valley over the last 10 years I've lived here. This one has the worst management of all of them. The workers are nice and you can almost always make an appointment. But it takes a good 2-3 hours each donation because they are so incredibly understaffed, and the system allows them to way overbook appointments. I went at a peak time of day around 5pm (my bad!). There were only TWO workers doing the finger pokes, and they only had a co
The staff were super nice and the physical went really well. I didn't donate today but I did give blood as part of my physical. Giving 3 stars solely for the purpose of when they were prepping my blood draw they placed all the items at the bottom of the bed and prepped it all where your feet rest while you lay to give donation. Honestly I just found that unhygienic and unsafe given that is where everyone places their feet while donating and shoes from outside are not sanitary. I didn't speak up but I wish I
Staff is very friendly and they do the best to help out, but the place is very understaffed. Half of the facility is not in use, meaning longer wait times. It takes nearly an hour to start donating.
This place is pretty good donations are fast and staff is friendly. However there was this one phlebotomist that unhooked three people who got done after me. After donating before everyone she made me wait for like 15-20 minutes. Not cool.
The staff are great and kind but there aren't enough of them. Only half of the beds are used but people are in line 2 hours before they even start their donation. They need to put a cap on scheduling appointments.
I really like this place over the Orem location. Even though they do have just 2 pokers both times I've been here, they are efficient. It is a faster process in the mornings and weekend afternoons are busy. They go as fast as they can. They are nice and pleasant and it seems like they like their job. I appreciate pleasant happy people who are about to poke my arm. :)
There is ALWAYS a loooong line of people waiting to donate, which is especially frustrating when there are chairs sitting empty. Sometimes donations can take a total of two hours. Seems pretty disrespectful of people's time. Other than that, the facility seems clean and staff have always been competent.
It was a good experience today but that is because I am a returning donor and got to skip the lines. There really needs to be better management on the scheduling so donors are not waiting an hour or longer just to get the check in and wait even longer to get a chair to actually donate. I understand that staffing and call in's can slow things down but this is a REALLY easy thing to solve & would be extremely beneficial for everyone involved in the process. Employees & donors alike..
Staff is friendly enough, the facilities are nice. But no one works here?? This is the only plasma location I've ever seen that if your appointment is at 1:00, you'll wait for your screening until 2:00, then wait for a bed until 3:00, and leave by 5:00. Incredibly inconvenient. There will be 40 donors in line and one, occasionally 2 employees will be performing screenings, when theres booths for up to 7. They only use half the available beds and machines for donating as well. Maybe this is a management issu
You are making me donate 1098 ml now instead of 898 ml and I am being paid the same. It's more time and more fluids for the same payment. This so called "upgrade" is not an upgrade. It a a downgrade. Essentially less money per hour. Unless you are going to scale payment to the amount donated, then you need to undo this "upgrade" that you implemented without feedback from your donors.
Honestly, if I could get this place a 0 that's what it would be. The first time I went the next again was being very rude. Anenjoyment hole and I feel like she was discriminating against. Gets me and I'm so glad that I picked a different donation place. Because I wouldn't have been happy here with the way. I was treated even by management line addressed the problem Of discrimination! And the process took so long It was way longer than two hours... So now I will never be back to a vile life again. And she's g
It takes a good 2-3 hours each donation because they are so incredibly understaffed, and the system allows them to way overbook appointments. There were only TWO workers doing the finger pokes, and they only had a couple of their sections open for donations.
Every experience prior to the last has been great, and I've been treated by staff respectfully and cared for when any issues came up. Unfortunately, at my last visit, I had serious issues with a nurse who couldn't find my vein in either arm, and when he found one on my right and poked into it, blood shot out everywhere and I was left with a hematoma. How common this is, I do not know, but I do want to warn other future patients that unfortunately this can happen and can cause issues later down the line. The
The wait is just too much and it isn't getting any better. I've been here standing in line for 1.5 hours and still have at least 10 people ahead of me in line before I even get to a bed. Everything besides the wait here is amazing but something has got to give. More then half the beds aren't even open. At least if people were waiting in a bed they wouldn't be reduced to sitting on the dirty floor. Not saying the place isn't clean but it's the line area where people are non stop walking through so it's gross
The AF BioLife team is awesome! They do a great job making you feel welcomed, a friendly and great at their jobs! I recommend for anyone looking to give back or earn some extra spending money!
I've always been satisfied with the services provided. The staff at every location I've been to work hard and work fast to help their guests come in, donate and head home as soon a they're able. I'll definitely keep going to this plasma donation company!
2nd time trying to donate. Unfortunately had to wait for a long time to chat with the nurse, then when I finally got to the donation area, the first needle didn't go in right on the left arm, so they had to move to the other arm. Then on the other arm the machine broke, so it couldn't separate the plasma and couldn't return the blood it took out. So, I was sent home. The bruising on my left arm was so bad I had to cancel my next appointment and have been waiting nearly a week now with lots of bruising still
BioLife in American Fork is great. I enjoy the staff. When I go the lines are short and quick. The staff is careful and respectful when sucking me with a needle and pulling it back out. I highly recommend this center.
I have been donating for years now. Well over 600 donations. Several members of my family donate also. We love the fact that we can help others in this way and get a little something in return. The staff are good, helpful and know what they are doing. Donate. You won't regret it.
This place is always slow. I am literally sitting here on the bed waiting to begin my donation and it's been almost an hour and a half since I checked in. I kindly urge Management to hire more staff and bolster their customer service. I have donated 5 times now and here has been the average break down of each visit as a normal donor (first timers expect longer). 1. Check in at front desk because somehow the system does not recognize me and thinks I am a donor with a physical every time I schedule online. U
I will leave one star because I don't have option for rate 0.0000 stars! This place is an awful experience. Just reschedule my appt twice and they didn't accept my Sunday appt at 2:55pm because was the last of the day. I came from Draper (15miles distance) and didn't care about it,on Saturday I also cancelled my appt after 2.5 hours waiting here !iPlease don't come to this location this is ridiculous!!! It was my 4th donation in the year. I will not donate anymore in this location of course
it's like they're trying to win an award for least efficient center on the planet. genuinely atrocious. if you're this understaffed that needs to be reflected in your ability to book appts. it's insane to make your donors wait 2 hours to get a bed. and the workers who are here have 0 sense of urgency it's like it's their first day alive. i?d laugh if i weren't so pissed
I wish I could rate 0 stars because I would. The worst treatment I have received in a plasma center. I don't know if the problem is that the employees have no experience or simply half of the donors are bad at doing this, and I say this because what I suffered today was also suffered by some of my friends who used to come to this center. They put the needle in me the first time, without any problem. Later They said there was a problem with the machine and we had to switch to the other arm. They put the ne
The wait times are atrocious. Every time I've come here it's been a 3 hour ordeal. Also, the color system doesn't make sense to me. Someone who has made an appointment an hour and a half to two hours after me can get in a bed before me because there in a colored line that has less people. Shouldn't it be first come first serve, based off your appointment time. Every other plasma place I've been to does first come first serve. Time is money and wasting 2.5 hours of my life is ridiculous. Update, Waited in l
Have had nothing but issues with them they are not good they will cancel and not tell you and basically won't pay you sometimes for weeks until you have to ask them multiple times people there need more training or need to be fired.
Slowest plasma center ever, it takes 3 hours MINIMUM to get a donate over. Prepare to be here pretty much all day. Very nice people but extremely slow and takes all day. Lines never end.
I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at this BioLife location. Having last donated over five years ago, I was dismayed to encounter an excessively long wait time of nearly two hours. Despite previous visits being relatively efficient, today's wait has been characterized by a lack of communication regarding the anticipated wait time. As a single mother of two, I must carefully balance my time and resources, including the cost of childcare. It is disheartening to have waited pat
I had a promo of $750 that I had gotten from signing up with Orem. They activated my coupon assuring me that American Fork would honor my promo for $750. Because of conflict of schedule and such. That is why Orem had sent me to American Fork where they had more flexibility. I was really counting on this money because I have no employment for January. As I have bills to pay for. And one day my heart rate was a little too high so they sent me home and gave me in an extension saying they would honor that amoun
The worst place for donations ever! Expect a (unpleasant) surprise at every appointment. Or they will make you stay in the line for at least 2 hours, or they won't let you donate because you're a minute late, or they'll burst your veins and make a huge bruise in your arm, or they won't be able to do a simply bandage in your arm after a donation, and because of that, you'll see your blood running down through your arm and have your clothes blood-stained. I've faced all of this, believe me. Sadly, that's poor
My worst experience after many donations, I usually donate in Orem, but for personal reasons I had to go to this location, after a long line of an hour, I was waiting 30 more minutes just waiting for someone to puncture my arm, the phlebotomist passed in front of me and a few would gathered to talk and laugh, while there were people waiting, after I was done the machine was alerting, and again waited 15 minutes more for someone to remove the needle, many of the workers, avoided me, there were even groups of
Friendly staff, but same issue as always which is too many appointments available and not enough staff to accomidate the appointment's which always makes for long lines. 25 min wait to get finger pricked. Then another 25 min wait to get a donation bed. Then a 10 min wait to get someone to start a needle. Same story every time. Go in late afternoon and you can double those times
Donor payouts are super cheap, there are definitely places that pay more. The quality of service is fine but the wait time are horrendous. My "appointment" was at 7 and I didn't leave until close to 10 and my actual donation time was only like 45 minutes (if that). It's not the worst donation place but they can definitely step it up with the wait time.
If I could sum up the experience at BioLife with one phrase, it would be "waiting in line." The usual donation goes like this: Wait too long in line to take the questionnaire. Take the slow questionnaire. Wait way too long in the line for the screening test. Take the screening test. Wait so long in line for a bed to open up. Finally sit in a bed. Wait for 47 trillion years for them to finally hook you up to a machine. Start your donation. Finish your donation. Die of old age while you wait for them to come
I'm editing my review due to my recent donation experience. I went in for a donation on April 17, the visit was nice and smooth, the employees were very nice and made sure that people were able to go in and donate. When I got to the machine things were fine until it started this weird beeping, the attendant informed me that the machine couldn't get a good flow from my vein and that the attendant from earlier that had set up the machine may have gone to deep into my vein or not deep enough. He adjusted the n
I have been going to this location for a little over a month and after my experience this week I won't be any longer. For the first three to four weeks the staff was fantastic! The location is clean and overall I had a good experience. That was until this last week. I went in on a day that was particularly busy and I can't be upset about how busy it was because my understand it's getting into the holiday season and it's probably a lot busier that time of year, however the technician poked me with the needle
After a 30 minute wait in the parking lot with a pager, I went inside only to discover that I had now earned the opportunity to wait in a long line. ?? Absolutely ridiculous that this place can't figure out how to book an appropriate amount of people to operate at full capacity without making everyone wait an hour every time they arrive. Definitely an incompetent company as far as scheduling goes. Thanks to the wait, I had plenty of time to leave this review. I checked in at 6:10, and now it's 6:55 and I'm
The staff here are knowledgeable and friendly, it has been a great experience here for the donation process. Look forward to continue the loyalty to their facility.
The American Fork, UT facility is always clean, the staff very kind and personable, and the experience pleasant. Highly recommended. The money is good too!
Pretty horrible. The people are nice and their service is friendly but their system sucks. I set an appointment for 4:00 and I don't sit down till 6. After waiting 2 hours I was sitting and waiting for them to stick me for another 30 minutes. I had to cancel other appointments I had in the day because it took so long to get me in. Why schedule an appointment if I end up leaving 3 hours later? Either hire more people or don't let so many people set up appointments. Horrible management
The wait is going up! There are plenty of stalls available; there just need to be more workers to make the donation go faster. I am consistently taking 90+- for a donation, when it could take only -+60 minutes. Employees are good; place is clean. Donation pay is LOUSY! Why can't we be paid more? You are definitely getting more for my plasma than you are paying me. Don't give me silly points or incentives, just pay me MORE PER DONATION and I'll come back. Don't require me to come 8x a month for an incentive
This is the worst place to donate plasma. Honestly, don't come here. I highly recommend Grifols. I've donated there for some time, and it's the best. This place is terrible. They advertise a promotion where they claim you'll get $100 for your first eight donations, totaling $800. But this is a scam. From the very first day, they take a blood sample, and by the second time you try to donate, they won't let you, saying something about your levels being off. They don't even tell you what was wrong or answer y
I really don't have time to wait almost three hours to donate. The wait times have been going up and up over the last few months. Donating at this point is absolutely not worth it. Compensation needs to be much higher for wait times like that. I also feel that the staff don't respect me or my time. Unless something changes soon, I do not recommend donating plasma at this location.
The place is understaffed, but filled with super nice people! Was nervous going in and everything was as pleasant as it probably could be. Took way too long for my first visit there? I was there for 3 & 1/2 hours? but hoping it will be faster all the other times!
Staff members are kind but that's the only good thing. I show up for an appointment and there are 5 other people at the same time. Why bother with appointments? I wait forever just to be told I can't finish my appointment today because I was barely over the blood pressure test, it's just infuriating.
Again a 1 star just 2 review. I decided to give bio life another shot after their machine messed up and booted me for 8 weeks. I made a call, set up an appointment verbally told them that I had went somewhere else. Everything was supposedly fine, there was nothing wrong with that, it was even noted in the system supposedly by the employee I talked to. So I went in for my appointment like normal and was flagged/given a warning again for going to the other place. Even though I had asked all of the information
What's the point of setting an appointment if you're just gonna show up with about 50 other people at the same time? They need to get better at time management, and I speak for a-lot of people. In my experience i would choose the morning appointment time so I could donate before work and it should only take about and a hour, but if they allow 50 people to all chose the same time slot, your in for maybe a 2 hour window or more. So it's almost impossible for me to donate any other day but Saturday. Only 2
Despite having an appointment they make you stand (not sit) in a Disneyland style serpentine line for more than an hour. Everything else is ok I guess
Usually my experience there is amazing and nice, but today was different mostly with the nurse and how they put the needle in my arm. They shoved it and dug around. My right arm now hurts a lot.
Workers are nice and professional. Wish they had more staffing but I understand that may be something they can't control. Evening donations can get extremely busy to where you're waiting an hour or more just to get to a bed.
At first I was excited because they had appointments available, plus there extended hours over the other center in my area, but I quickly realized that they have so many appointments available because they are doing first-come first-serve style donation, but with the added drawbacks of being defered for the day if late. Well whst about when I'm late for work because I spent 2-3 hrs every day standing, Yes Standing, in line. They do not respect donors time. I've gone back to my other center. It was that or
Waited in line for 2 hours before was able to donate. Not sure the point behind scheduling a time if the wait is that long. The staff were wonderful and the donation itself was fine.
This place is pretty good, if you come at the right time you can be in and out in an hour and a half pretty consistently, and I haven't had any problems donating here. Please give Dylan a raise! I came on Saturday afternoon and he was awesome for the following reasons: 1. He was fast and efficient, and when all his coworkers were laughing and being idle and I was waiting to be disconnected he came and disconnected me 2. He did a cross-wrap, not their usual standard wrap (if you know what I mean you can app
Overall, it's not worth it. Excessively long wait times. You stand in lines for around 2 hours before your donation, which takes another hour. Ive never spent less than 3 hours. First time was $100 per visit. But after that the amounts are very low, usually $35 a donation. After 6 months without donating they're now offering $50 per donation. It's truly not worth it. Not to mention that line isn't safe. They really pack you in tight with other people. I got covid in it and didn't get my first timer $800 be
I have been donating plasma for years at other locations. The second I walked into this location for the first time I was SOO disgusted and disturbed. It was RIDICULOUS how long lines were for every step of the way. I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT. HIRE MORE WORKERS or LIMIT DONOR APPOINTMENTS I am not only rightfully pissed off with the dysfunction and inadequacy of the way this location is ran but shocked and very disappointed with the in efficiency. I am so sad for people who have to work here or go here regul
To be honest the only reason this is getting 3 stars is for the examiner. I get it was early but I sat in the examination room for 10 minutes only to be told that I couldn't donate for something I said two minutes in. And when she told me that, she was not super kind or understanding. Kind of made me feel stupid. Didn't really make it seem like she wanted me to come back.
The treatment is disgusting, they are racists who think that one's time is worthless, I drove 35 minutes to get there and after I did my due process I asked for permission to look for something to shake hands with and they told me that it was no problem, after I was in bed they told me that I could not donate because I had gone out "after they gave me permission" a Latina in particular even asked for a bottle of water and she refused it, then a very kind American woman gave me the bottle of water, they lose
Donating plasma has been a great blessing for our family. Its had its ups and downs. It can be very busy and understaffed at times, and at other times the compensation can be a bit low, however, the staff is amazing, the facility is clean and I feel we'll taken care of whenever I go! Brandy (head nurse) is one of the best. She goes out her way to help, is super kind and very approachable. David (the general manager) is super awesome. We had an issue with my wife not being able to donate, because of mix up,
One of their ads caught my attention on FB, so I called to clarify the process, to minimize surprises. Whoever answered the "new patient" line was friendly and knowledgable, causing me to feel comfortable enough to come in for the first time. There were a lot of people when I got there which made me feel a little less nervous. Most of them were pretty young, even the people working the place including the nurses and the people who stick you. The front desk ladies on Wednesday were pretty on point. They exp
Once you're actually in a seat, the process is very straightforward. I've never had a bad donation, the machines are good, I've had 4 different technicians stick me, and they've always been very good and I've never bruised. The frustration that made me stop donating was the absolutely atrocious wait times. You are required to set an appointment, but it I've had it take up to 2 hours waiting in line and then the 1 hour donation itself. I've also had it take no more than 15 minutes in line It appears there
I wish I could give a 0 star for this location. The employee that is supposed to help the people check in for their appointment is no good. They should not be in the front. I came back three times to this location the second time they told me to bring my ss and that it needs to be verified by them and I didn't have it so I just told them that I'll come back next weekend. Third time, thank God that person wasn't there. The employee who helped me there told me that there was a mistake that the person who help
There was a shortage of employees. Once I got to the bed I had to wait 20-30 minutes for an employee to help me. After 15 minutes or so I wondered if anyone knew I was there waiting so I asked someone and she said someone would be coming soon. When a customer goes to a bed someone should acknowledge their presence and preferably a 20-30 minute wait should not happen. If we have an appointment there should be little waiting. Other times people wait for 45-60 minutes if not longer. Why have appointments if on
Of all the plasma centers in the area, BioLife offers the lowest pay and longest wait times. After over a decade of donation experience, this particular center has the longest waits I've ever seen. You would think with their online scheduling system, management could analyze center volume capacity and allow scheduling accordingly for a smooth donation experience, but that does not happen. Everything else about the center is quite nice, but as a donor, wait and pay are my primary interests.
Above average experience at this location. Like all of the plasma centers in Utah county, this location is very busy. This company could easily build several more locations and have little trouble collecting donations. Without more locations however, the donor load here is considerable. If you can go in with that mindset, then the rest of the visit is rather pleasant. The staff is mostly well trained and quick with their execution. It's obvious that they are understaffed, but that's most business' the
Used to be great, now I stand in line over two hours after the appointment I made until they finally hook me up. In the end spent over three hours here. Ridiculous! And yes this is real. I'm laying in the bed while writing this at exactly 3 hours since entering the building. Update: it is April 3rd 2024. The wait times have improved a ton now I wait an average of 10 minutes if I have to wait at all. They have more staff now it seems. The pay definitely dropped off significantly the last few weeks.
I've donated plasma at only a couple centers but even then I know tell that this one is incredibly inefficient and frustrating to deal with compared to the norm. I never get in a bed any more than an hour after my appointment time and donating takes at least a full hour so I can never really plan a day around it very well. I've seen people seated in beds for 30 minutes with no one helping him so they just leave because their time is more valuable than that. There's some really nice and friendly staff (shout
American Fork Staff was ok while checking in, physical and donating. The staff at vitals was disconnected. I mentioned my displeasure regarding the process to use the app, scheduling an appointment and your technology. I suggested that the employees of BioLife use the app to be familiar with it. Because it's cumbersome, confusing, extremely frustrating. Her answer was ? I don't have to donate plasma?. Her answer was out of touch, lacked empathy, implied she's better that donors, and absolutely reflects the
People! Don't give good review and leave less than 5 stars! You may as well have put 1...All companies rate their teams performance on 5 stars or nothing. So you are actually hurting the team you are praising for doing a good job and lowering their chances of getting a raise. Stop putting less than 5 if you are happy...otherwise don't comment
Waited an hour and a half in various lines as a returning donor only to be told I couldn't ever donate again because I couldn't remember the exact date I got my ears pierced. When I did donate consistently, I was usually stuck there at least an two and a half hours because of how they over schedule and don't have enough staff to man the screening process.
I just waited 2 hours, and I gave up. I predict I would've been waiting another hour before I actually got to the beds to donate. This place has no respect for your time
The reason for the two stars is because of the waiting in the enormous long line before you can even donate. I haven't been able to find a time where I don't wait 2 hours. This location in AF need to have more staff, and open up more sections. The staff are nice, beds are clean, comfortable. I'm here during my lunch break which is going to be a very long lunch. Hopefully I won't get fired. Suggestions for this location, maybe put chairs in the bed waiting area. I've been standing for 32 minutes and I'm not
I got there and was immediately able to start my donation. My entire time from when I walked in, to when I left was less than an hour. The staff is always so friendly and well-trained. So far every visit has been a good experience.
I like how things are organized. I did hear, however, that at another donation site, they immediately bring new donors back to a bed and come over and take care of them there instead of making them wait and what not. And they have someone who hooks you up, someone checking on people the whole time, and then someone who unhooks you when you're done so that you don't have to wait for the person who hooked you up when you're done. Seems more efficient that way. It's CSL, I think.
They never answer their phones. Donors should not have to drive all the way over to their center to ask a basic question.
The wait time is ridiculous! I recently moved and this is the closest plasma location to me. no other location is like this. Waiting in line for 2 hours just to be seated and the money back is not worth your time. Staff is wonderful and they're doing the best they can but they either need more staff or need to cut appointments. There should only be appointments to what they can compensate and handle. There system is not working and not fair to the donors or staff.
Great experience here. I only wish you could answer the questions online so I could go straight to vitals like other plasma centers do.
Too long of a bed wait - 2 hrs! Donation took an hour! Asked staff to look at the machine as it wasn't drawing plasma as normal. He argued with me and wouldn't do anything. Another guy helped me and said it was at 60% and raised it to 100% and it was better for the last 10 minutes.
5pm, the longest line ever and just 2 phlebotomists attending people. This is the 4th time I donate here and every time has been the same. It's safe to say they need more staff. Edit: I can't explain how bad this place is for donating because of the slowness that is absurd. I used to donate in Grifols and I have also gone to Biolife in Riverton, and I can assure it's here, Biolife in American Fork, where it's terrible. We are talking of at least 3 hours for each donation. They need more staff. 7 stations
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
