The staff truly makes a new experience one that's smooth and kind. All of the staff was more than happy to help direct and explain the process! Specifically RJ and Lauren were so respectful and a great help.

Used to be great. Now wait times are incredibly long, today I'm in just 45 minutes after my actual appointment. Location appears short staffed and I've spent too long making eye contact with staff members chatting and doing no noticeable work without a single effort to assist. The people aren't rude but the appearances of their behavior makes them appear lazy. I'm sure corporate is raining hell on it's poor work force. The ONLY impressive thing I'll say is this place is clean. Otherwise, awful long wait tha

Love coming in on Saturdays. Very chill. Everyone is so nice, especially props to Teegen and Bailey. Always extremely pleasant and so caring.

It's not worth it, UNLESS you are homeless and in dire need of money because they don't give cash! There's the first issue is a card they put your money on. Your typical issues of no customer support ,no accountability when they make errors and so on. Next is the level of competency of their phlebotomist. I'd say it's 1 in 10 that can actually do their job. I'm talking if there is anything outside of easy they begin to gather taking turns at who is going to be lucky enough to land your vein. If you refuse t

My first visit on a Saturday at 2:30. While the staff is always nice, today I am afraid they were very distracted with cross conversations and rushing about to close down and leave. They had to adjust my needle 3 times and wound up with an infiltrated return - left with a very swollen bicep and now I can't lift my arm. Expecting bruising and a 3-4 day recovery. I would feel better about it if the employees weren't so distracted and focused on leaving.

I am very sad about the way I was treated here. The staff is constantly distracted with conversations about their personal lives like their boyfreinds going out drinking, sticking needles in me so far the other employee makes puking sounds, missing my veins and supervisors that look high as a kite. Last night they gave me a Hematoma from not supporting my arm. Now I am being punished with a 56 day cut off like I did something wrong, a sore arm, and a doctor bill I have to pay because they didnt focus on the

I had Al again at the finger stick station, he just makes my day! So friendly and genuine. I have always had a good experience with all the donations this far. Thanks for making it a smooth process, especially with the deadline shortage.

Everyone who donated should try BioLife in Ankeny cause it's clean, the staff are very curtuous and your in and out quickly. Thank you BioLife and staff members

Not happy with Ap Not working correctly Last week changed appointment This week could get into Ap and deleted and put in with same log in and it didn't bring up the change I made for my appointment for Tuesday at 11:00

this location has always been good but lately everytime go i get stuck wrong and its usually by someone training someone else, i had blood pooling up around the needle and it seemd to take forever to get someones attention, it really doesnt feel right only making $40 and im getting stuck wrong and left with marks on my arms.

The staff was amazing and very informative of everything that was going to happen thrift the donation process. The establishment was super clean and well maintained.

The process is very fast and efficient. They are willing to answer any questions and are friendly. Although the girl that hooked me up on 10/28/24 was a bit odd, she scanned the guy across from me to use his bag lot number because mine wouldn't scan. And she left a mark like a long scach on my arm where she inserted the needle.

Would rate lower if I could. Went in the first time today to try and donate with my daughter. And a little dark haired nurse in black scrubs thought she was going to talk to me some sort of way because I was standing where I was told to wait and the few chairs in the small area were full. So disrespectful and rude no wonder they are always in need not worth it fir the compensation we left and will not return. Your staff need to do better they are rushed and robotic rude. The only 2 people we interacted with

Doesn't matter if you're busy you are a business answer your damn phones. Ridiculous your ?call backs? take days. Answer them phones.

The staff here is amazing! Great care is taken to ensure patient safety and comfort. My experience has been nothing but positive. I get to engage with some great people while making a difference in lives and making a little money at the same time.

Ankeny, Iowa, Oralabor Road Store. Today, 3 Dec 2024, was my 411th time donating in a little over 5 years. Got all the way to the couch where blood plasma is drawn. Phlebotomist stuck catheter in to far into my arm vein which caused the machine to not draw my blood as it should have. Donation was stopped early and Biolife has now deferred me for 8 weeks for no fault of my own! I get penalized from donating until 28 January for no fault of my own! Really sucks there is no recourse! Can't donate for thei

Once again great service and very nice staff. There are multiple plasma locations in town and there are many reasons why I keep choosing this location. Thank you for your OUTSTANDING professionalism in these tough times!!! I've been going there about four years now. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I went to this location many times over the last several years. I won't be returning after a disappointing run of incredibly long wait times and underwhelming staff experiences. I would advise saving your time and finding a different location. It costs more in gas and hours than you gain donating here. I've met some good, capable and kind staff here, but have also had very dehumanizing experiences. One where they were training a new tech, she made an error causing a hematoma, but never once did her or her

After being called back had to wait more than 20mins, and complaining got rejected on next visit. Thanks @Nikki the screener . Don't call a person back if you aren't ready. Time is money as they say and you sure were wasting it. Do better.

10/30/24: I was at biolife by 5:10. Line for fingerpoke was reasonable. I was seated in a bed at 5:45. There were three additional people on my section waiting to be stuck, none of our 4 machines were set up. I was not stuck until 6:50. When someone in the next section over finished, he was unhooked before me even though I'd been waiting nearly an hour in the bed at that point. I was dinging twice in first minute. First cycle was lower than normal. Started dinging again. Employee entered my section and poke

Most of the people are super nice. One guy is super annoying because he is trying to be nice. And he needs to stop telling stories and start focusing on connecting and disconnecting people. But over all they are nice.

Staff can't seem to do there job or just don't pay attention was here over an hr dealing with thrn not doing there job right only to be late to work cuz. Of this bullshit need to actually train your staff would give 0 stars if I could and not get to add more bulshit to this review got told I could donate cuz I ate a full meal before I came and didn't want to over eat so I couldn't eat there crackers before I donated so they told me I couldn't donate even Though the policy is your supposed to eat after you d

I will not be going back here I had 7 or 8 donations no problem then I go back 4 times I'm denied I was asking what is good protein and get laughed at I explained what I had the night before and all I get was yea that's it and laughed at talked to some nurse and she acted like she didn't care. So I havnt been for a month almost and won't return

I hate to say this because every other experience has been great, but this one not so much. It started with a bad stick job by the phleb. After she had moved it in my arm for a while, she said, "There, I got it." Then she says, "I hope I didn't hurt you." I said no, but it certainly didn't tickle. So, I have donated on and off since I was 21 and I'm 54 now, so I have alot of experience to draw from. One thing that is always consistent is, when ever there is an issue with the stick, there will be an issue wi

Great team work the one in West Des Moines..Great to help people.

The workers are such hard working good people. The managers have a big problem. They are unable to address problems like wait time. Under no circumstance should a donation take 2 hours. Anything over 1 hour is unacceptable. IDK why they even have appointments. They are overbooking just like Airlines do. If the donation goes over 90 minutes, the donor needs paid more. The Ankeny location has a history of this. Its why I dont give regularly. There is available technology that coul

Let me begin by saying that the associates at the Ankeny BioLife are absolutely top notch. They are attentive and do their absolute best to help donations go smoothly and quickly. Unfortunately, BioLife as a company has gotten significantly worse for donors from a financial aspect. Plasma donation used to be a legitimate way for me to improve my financial situation, but ever since the rewards program went into effect the compensation for my time and plasma has dropped off significantly. For perspective, I h

Ryan is the Absolute best. Very professional and quick! Love it when I get in his section. Pattie is Awesome as well. The staff overall is top notch in Ankeny!!

Great facility with an awesome staff!! My donation times are honestly my most relaxing time of my day. I've been coming here for years and have never had anything less than a great experience. You really get to know the crew - Patti, Abbie, Madison, Kylie and the rest are great to work with, and are FAST!!! Highly recommend.

So far my experience at the Ankeny location has been very good. The staff is friendly and the entire process is very quick compared to other centers I've been to in the past. I had a very poor experience with the nurses at the Des Moines location. They were useless in regards to anything related to medical records. Luckily the West Des Moines and Ankeny nurses were willing to help me get on track to donate. I recommend either of the two.

HIRE MORE STAFF!!! Tired of the multi hour waits for just a regular donation. 3 hours today!

Understaffed with TERRIBLE customer service. Hour long waits to get on the floor to donate, even during what the center advises are ?off? hours. Generally have to wait 15 - 20 minutes following completion of a donation to be unhooked from the machine. While floor staff is skilled and helpful, management DOES NOT GIVE A RIP about problems or staffing issues. BioLife is completely non-responsive to complaints and inquiries. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Efficient, clean, easy. The staff made it easy to give plasma my time.

Top-notch team! From the minute you walk in the door. The morning team at front of house is always on the ball (Jonathan, Diane, Elle, Madison), and the tech team in the back. They're all wonderful, but my personal favorites are Abbie, Patti, Erin, Lizzy, Ryan...too many to list! And Nurse Abbie is SO kind and understanding! I've been coming here 3 or 4 years now, and will continue to do so, as long as they'll let me!

From my experience so far, it's been great. I'm usually in and out within an hour or so. The staff are usually kind and doesn't waste much time. Overall, I've got nothing to complain about. Given all the negative reviews about this place, maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe my appointments just so happen to be when the good staff are around? Maybe my standards for what makes a donation experience good are really low? Maybe I haven't donated here long enough to see what others have gone out of their way to complain

It is always something here. Some of the staff is wonderful and some are always looking for a reason not to let you donate. Some are even rude to the other staff. I have a long drive to get here. Second time in 1 week I've made the 35 minute drive for them to tell me a silly reason I cannot donate.. that's money coming out of my pocket to get here, just to be told to go back empty handed. Every time I come here I'm in a great mood, and I usually leave very disappointed.

Madi jones, Maddie, Joe, Oso, all of the nurses are very patient, funny, and have great customer service. Actually-most of the newer staff I've ran into have been absolutely phenomenal. Keep up the great work on meeting the BioLife Service Vitals.

I had some issues getting thru the process the first time, everyone was super supportive of me and even gave me some very helpful hints on what to do the next time. Made it thru with flying colors on the next attempt.

The staff is always nice and efficient. Many of the staff ask and genuinely seem to care about you. Stef always greets me by my first name and always says hi to me whether I'm in her section or not. She is always upbeat and engaging! I have never had any bad experiences, they are always very attentive.

BioLife was great! The staff is professional but very friendly and kind! They made sure I understood every procedure and step in the process. It did take a lot of time the first visit, but I feel like I totally understand the process so it was worth it! They were all fantastic! The website is also very easy to use including scheduling appointments! Bravo Ankeny BioLife!

Let me preface by saying that the employees are doing the best they can, but the fact is they accept too many evening appointments and you will be lucky to get in/out in under two hours. The money is great and definitely worth it if you can get in/out in a decent amount of time. For example, last night my appointment was at 6:35. The line for screening was 20 deep with only two technicians doing the screening. They finally brought up more techs to help with the screening line. Then I waited about 20 minut

The blood/plasma part went fine but when they pushed in the saline it got pushed in too fast blew my vein and then pumped into my tissue(infiltration) looks like I have a bicep implant. Then I got light headed, super sweaty and almost threw up. Then when that passed I went to the recovery area to be monitored and I saw spots got super sweaty and passed out. They had to get me in a wheelchair and in a bed. This was my first time donating so I did not know what to expect. My advice to BioLife would be if some

The amount of unprofessionalism that oozes from this place is appalling. Currently been waiting in a chair over 20 minutes on a very slow Saturday to donate. Still have yet to be stuck. Employees were yelling at each other across the main lobby area asking each other if they knew why someone broke up with their wife. When I was waiting at the reception desk, 10 minutes probably went by before I was even acknowledged.

Love the Ankeny location! Everyone here is so nice and kind? Patty is awesome at her job!! Love Steph as well you go girls

I love the Ankeny BioLife! The facility is always clean and presentable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to and get to know! It is a great day if I get to be in Kylie's or Patty's section! Both of them are so great at their job and very hard working. I don't feel like just another donor! Bonus...their needle pokes never hurt! :)

The facility in Ankeny is immaculate and the staff are very personable and capable. I would donate again and frequently if the compensation was higher. It is about half of what was offered at facilities in Maryland. That's a big disincentive, especially since I have to drive an hour to the closest facility in Iowa.

Feel very comfortable here whenever I come. Staff is nice and they try their best to be fast and get the line moving. It is a clean facility too.

The staff are great, and the only reason this place gets two stars, but management HAS to figure out a better balance of appointments vs. bed availability. I'm sure this is a difficult balance but my most recent visit saw me wait 90 minutes to get through the line just to get into a bed. This is unfortunately pretty Please pay your staff more in order to bring more hires on or don't allow as many appointments scheduled throughout different time slots. The wait to get to a bed is entirely too long due to the

I always encounter pleasant staff and a very clean and calm environment.

I love coming here! I've found times during the day that are slower and I can Get in and out pretty fast. Usually Tuesday or Thursday around 1:30. I've never written a review on anything, good or bad. But there is one worker there specifically that I feel like is out to get me.. she just seems to purposefully not help me. One time specially someone sat down way after me and she hooked them up first then proceeded to do other things. I got done super fast because i drink a lot of water before i come, and my

I had yet, another fail, to give a full plasma draw, but it is very disheartening for it to happen, when I know that it is not my fault. It is either a bads 'stick', or a machine detecting what is or isn't happening. The worst of the worst, is when the return was not going into the vein, leaving me quite bruised and very sore, from my mid forearm to above my bicep, to the p[oint that i couldn't stand the pain of using my arm for over two weeks. After that was two bad returns, leaving me to have to wait for

Been donating for 4 years now and had to do a physical again, they went out of their way and helped me set up a bonus code then got me back in the chair. My donation here was a lot better than other experiences donating plasma around town especially after a long hiatus from the donation needle. The front staff was helpful, pleasant, and patient. Karlee was knowledgeable and helped me when asked about where to leave this. Highly recommended!!!

I have been donations here for many years. I have friends who receive therapies made from the plasma donated. It's a really great thing. Some people don't do it just for the money?unfortunately I had the worst experience ever. After 10ish years of donating, a nurse asked me a question about being gluten free, marked it down as celiacs without asking any further questions. I had the test done years ago for celiacs. I told them that signed a release and doctor sent it in?they then call me and tell me that thi

I have been going to BioLife for a long time. I have had many good experiences with people there but Patricia has always been friendly and explains everything in detail when asked. Patricia is really good to talk too and she is very personable which makes the process easier. She is also really good at her job because I do not think I have ever had a bad stick with her. I think she is an awesome staff member and she should be recognized for her hard work!!!

Staff are friendly, clean building, and simple steps. Wait times are not great anymore. Sometimes you'll get to your color area and wait 40 minutes just sitting there while they attend to getting people out first. I think it would make more sense to start on the people that just got to that area and then work on getting people out. The nurses have always been great and get you in and out as quickly as possible if you need to see them. Once you get started the process is pretty easy and fast, which is nice.

The staff is great to work with and the facility is always very clean. I like to donate in order to help other people and also make a little fun money. My only complaint is the wait time. There were times when you could get in, donate and be on your way home in a little over an hour. Those times seem to be gone now. It normally takes an hour and a half to 2 hours to donate any more. Please try to help speed up the process. Thank you.

The staff there are great! I'm treated well every time I've gone in to donate. Danyell is super friendly, the phlebotomist with the red hair who stuck me did great. The trainer, Kylie, did a good job explaining things to me.

I have been doing this a long time, and avoiding writing a review, because it used to be a great experience. The staff is exceptional and fairly understanding, but apparently not robust enough. Regularly you wait in line 30+ minutes just to wait in another 30+ minutes line. Following this, if you're lucky you sit in a chair and get hooked up, or there are instances like today where that takes over 30 minutes, making it a 2 hour morning. Looking at the website prior to this review it states ?not very busy?.

Easy fast money to make! Friendly staff. Only downside is sometimes there are long lines.

The folks that work there are friendly and nice. But no matter what time you get there and no matter how fast the machines are I find that I wait 10 - 20 extra minutes every time to get unhooked after the donation is done. It seems like the process or the coverage in the areas could be better managed to waste less of the donors time and maximize the use of the equipment. That's my opinion after a full year of donations. I would also avoid the popular times of day you might be there for 3 hours.

Great service. Every time I come in, Patricia always makes me feel welcomed! I always request for her to poke me because I believe no one does it better than her. I recommend this place to anyone look to earn some extra cash!

Recently it seems as if the appointments are way more than the facility can handle. Lines have been much longer than the ?normal? long lines. Waiting tonight (3/28/23, appointment was scheduled for 5) is about an hour just for the first line. Then maybe that amount of time again for second line to get to give plasma is ridiculous for a donation. I know they may be short staffed (staff are all very nice), but they mostly always have 2 sections not open. Since this is the ?norm? when I come, not sure why ther

I wanted to pay Rachel, in purple section today at my appointment at approximately 1:20, a compliment & thank you, when she hooked me up and for being very thoughtful. For about a year I've needed to mention to run me slower which of course took longer to donate. Today she took an extra second to see if an adjustment of my blood output, not sure I'm correct here, was adjusted instead, then I would get done faster with my donation. Of course she told me to let her know if I had any ill affects, but I did

I had a great experience from beginning to end I gotta take care of your hair. It's a very clean environment, and very quiet and very professional.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. I'm someone who goes regularly and I especially like when Patricia (Patty) is the one who sticks me. She's spot on every time and I never have any issues! I like the fact too that the wait times are bearable and not nearly as bad as they used to be!

I was able to easily schedule an appointment with them and went to BioLife Ankeny, IA. for the initial physical evaluation. I was greeted nicely and gave a blood sample for testing. They checked for iron levels, protein content, and other factors to determine my eligibility to donate blood. Although each step took some time, my experience was pleasant until I filled out the questionnaire and spoke with the nurse. The nurse asked me a few questions related to the questionnaire and I answered everything, but

I've been going to this location for over a year now. The staff has always been great and helpful. Sure there are lines and waiting at time but it's gotten a lot better from when I first started going. I've enjoyed getting to know some of the staff after all the times i've been going. Most recently, Stef did a great job and had a wonderful attitude.

Not a good experience. I had a 9:15 appointment and arrived a few minutes after 9. The staff were nice enough but seemed too relaxed. I kept asking how much longer and they tell you it takes longer the first time. The card they gave me said I should see the nurse at around 35 minutes into process. At 90 minutes in, I hadn't seen the nurse, one just went in and one in front of me. Are you joking? I went to Ankeny location. I feel cheated out of my Sunday morning.??

usually not a problem but whoever is running the green team today would rather sit around and make friends than assist with the people who have needles in their arms?. my husband sat there for twenty minutes after the machine was done while the nurses just sat there laughing and talking! he had to take the needle out of his arm himself

Staff is great. Since new machines have arrived the wait times is ridiculous. It was more efficient with the old machines. I have flexibility as to when I can do my donations, but I have not found a time that works yet. When you Sched an appointment and allow an hour and half to get it done but end up being there longer than 2 hours it causes problems. Please get better at your efficiency. I am sure the switch over in new machines and going from 6 in each bay to 4 has some growing pains, but I cannot wait t

I've been coming to BioLife Ankeny since the pandemic started. Some days they have long lines and waits, some days you get right in and out. The one thing that remains constant is Patricia's smiling face and upbeat attitude. You know when you are in her section she will work hard to get to you quick, have a good stick and back out the door all while striking up a good conversation. You do great work Patricia!

I just came back after a 5 year deferral and it was so nice to finally be back! The nurse was super kind and helpful, and all of the staff I have encountered so far have been friendly and knowledgeable and pleasant to be around.

Will save everyone else 2 hours of their life. IF YOU HAVE KIDNEY STONES DONT BOTHER I don't why something that broad would not be on the pre questionnaire but it wasnt. Don't waste your time like I did. Would have been nice if they just let me know that from the start. But no let's waste everyone?s time, resources and taxes to find out I have kidney stone and do not qualify. How much money did your company just waste for my hour appointment that could?ve just been avoided to start? Here's an idea, put

The waiting line was 12 deep, and only two people were behind the desk doing the checks. Then, two of us in the same section sat for nearly 10 minutes after we were finished donating before somebody showed up. Meanwhile, three staffers were mingling and doing nothing one section over. Very frustrating!

I have been coming here for over 6 months. Most of the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The gal who works in the daycare area is so wonderful! Her personality is outstanding. My children love hanging out with her. I could give you a list of exceptional employees but I would be afraid to leave someone out. The only thing I suggest is some of the newer ones focus on small talk. Other than that it's a great place.

I have been going to the Ankeny location for a year and half and the staff is always pleasant but they have had a lot of turnover. Currently they have major staffing issues as what used to take about an hour now takes at least two hours or more. Today, as I stood in the very long line waiting to donate, I heard a lot of unhappy customers. I stood in that line for about 30 minutes and then sat waiting for another 20 waiting to be stuck before I no longer had time to sit and wait and walked out. Please fix y

I've been coming here for a couple of years and this place is like a fine wine, better with time. Everyone here always has a smile on their face and they are so kind. Even when they are running crazy busy, they all smile and are great to work with. Danyell is always smiling, always happy and truly one of my favorite people! Patty, Aaron, Kylee(?? hopefully, I spelled that correctly)??, and Gail/ Abbie, just to name a few, are all so wonderful. Always so kind and helpful; they explain in detail about your do

As being someone who is sometimes uncomfortable about needles, Stefanie does an amazing job by making me feel welcomed, safe, and secure while donating. She is the reason I come back each time I do. Thank you Stefanie for being an amazing employee there! I recommended everyone to request Stefanie! You won't regret it!

Love the place, almost everyone knows you by name and takes a second to chat and see how you are, shout out to Morgan, Brady, Mandy, Joe, Monica, Megan, Lizzie, Gabby, Isabel and most of all "Trouble". You guys keep me coming back, but really all staff is amazing...

The majority of the beds were empty yet I sat in my bed waiting to get hooked up while I watched people stand around and talk. It is one thing to wait awhile to get hooked up when it's busy and a lot of people are getting seated in beds, but when there are only 2 or 3 people in a section and 2 of them are already hooked up and you still have to wait over 20 min to get hooked up because people are standing around talking rather than hooking someone up that is ridiculous. Very frustrated . My time is importan

I have been donating at this location for more than a year on a regular basis. Overall the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. However over the past few months it takes nearly 3 hours from the time you check in until the time you leave. This is frustrating considering they have installed updated machines to get you through the collection process faster; the problem is now that you spend more time in line than you do actually donating. With proper planning and staffing regular donations should not take much

I am a returning donor after 6 months and I made an appointment for 3:30 and didn't get seen until 4pm, then got to the chair and it took 15min for any employee to realize we had no one in the red section working so I got stuck by a supervisor that made it hurt so badly and I tried saying something about it but he was too busy talking with a coworker and ignoring me and seemed rude... after I was finished donation I was already waiting and then someone new came into my section and Ryan told me he was going

Staff are great, place is clean, yet when there is a worldwide plasma shortage one would think that efficiency would be very important. Maybe they're short on staff or was today. Long (1hr+) waits discourage people from wanting to donate. I was early for my appointment for a physical and still waited over an hour before seeing a nurse-ridiculous!! Please work on timing.

Of the DSM metro centers I've only donated at Ankeny and WDSM. I feel the staff at the Ankeny center are better trained, their sticks and disconnects are light years better than WDSM. Confirmation for me that on a whole there is NO reason for it to be that painful. Human skin is not horse hide. Thank you Ankeny for overall providing a good experience! Please keep it up.
