As a new donor, my experience was great! The staff are very nice and welcoming. You're told to expect to be there longer that first time, so 3 hours was expected. They tell you it won't take as long to donate when you come back. The second time, 4 hours it took to complete my donation. The third time, another 4 hours. The fourth time, there was a person waiting with me whose appt time was more than an hour before mine and she had already been waiting 2 hours at that point. It would have been way beyond 4 ho
I've been coming here for a couple months now and I have no major complaints. While there will be a wait, it's rarely frustratingly long. Do have to give props to Kat and Naomi for always being kind and offering enjoyable banter that makes the process easier.
I wanted to leave a comment because before coming I saw a lot of bad comments ... Which scared me a bit, knowing that I don't usually go to this center. But I was pleasantly surprised: a warm, smiling team who are there for you perfectly! And it's the first time I've hardly felt the needle go in !!! So yes, there's a bit of a wait, but I'd like to say that, like everywhere else, I sometimes have to wait at my usual center too. Thank you very much! I never write reviews but I had to write this one because t
I love donating at Biolife! The staff is absolutely amazing! Toni was just terrific! I hardly felt the needle go in! My main complaint is about the donors that came in tonight. Tonight, there was more donors than there were workers because they were understaffed, and not every donor understood. One guy was complaining so loudly and so often that an employee had to go and talk to him. So many donors just swearing every other word, saying F this and F that, and saying the N word. I don't care if people swear
I would like to donate but nobody EVER answers the phone. Left my number and so far, no one has returned my call. Probably a good idea for them to post the pay per donation for new donors; thats my only question. Not answering the phone is the first red flag. Will report back if they ever answer.
The incompetence of everyone here is mind blowing. I've been coming for a year and I'm done. They have no training and will blow your veins. It's happened a dozen times. Then blame you and give deferrals so you can't go until you're healed. This could be weeks or months because the more they screw up the longer you suffer. What's the point of making appointments when you wait a minimum of 90 minutes after to even be called. Then you're skipped or never even entered like tonight. It's a circus. I'll be repor
I have a great experience with all the staff members. Chris has been sticking me lately he's very gentle and kind and caring person I appreciate his work. Jessica was a life saver! I came in did questions one day and sat down and forgot to do my vitals, I sat there for 2 hours not realizing what I had did. Thank goodness Jessica was able to get my vitals done and had me called next. ?? Only problem I have is the scheduling sometimes our times are taken off when we already have a schedule scheduled. It did i
From the time I checking in to the time I left after donation, I spent nearly 5 hours of my time. WAY , WAY too much time to spend there. If that continues then it's not worth my time! I watched several people leave while waiting to be seated. This Co makes thousands per donation, surely this issue can be fixed. If not, you may be looking at some doners going to the competition
Went to BioLofe Plasma Services to sign up as a plasma donor. The facility is neat, clean, and well organized. The employees are friendly and efficient. The reason I took off one star is that I tried calling them before going down there to see if I was eligible to donate, but the website had no number to call and no comprehensive list of disqualifying factors. Once I arrived, checked in, and went through the initial screening process, they sent me to the nurse. She very quickly determined that I was never
I'm a new donor here at BioLife Plasma Donation Center. It would be my second time coming in today, and this phlebotomist by the name of Tearra made my experience very hostile. I arrived and everything went well, but things turned fast. First she butchered my last name; which is alright because it is not a common name. I simply informed her what its pronunciation is and she denied even saying it, no worries. Then, I'm sitting on the donor bed awaiting to start for about 5-7 minutes and I seen her. I politel
Csl is faster and pays more All they do is get you in the building and not care if you have a 3 hour wait. One technician to log you in while the line has 20 people waiting to get processed. Come early or not at all
After not receiving a buddy bonus I spoke to Brittney one of the managers and she was very kind and helpful. Although the time frame had passed to be able to receive it she saw that the error was not mine and did everything she could to make it right. She contacted me like she said she would and handled it very fast! I appreciate the professionalism and kindness.
While I absolutely love all the staff a the cleanliness and professionalism of the company I do not love the compensation aspect of it. The compensations are getting lower and lower. Legally I do know you cannot technically sell/buy human plasma so us ?Donors? are compensated for our ?time?. Well my ?time? (plasma) is very valuable to me and many others. These little $50-$70 for my ?time? (plasma) while Big Pharma a whoever else is making billions upon billions for the gift of life Us Donors are giving yet
Staff turnover is way too high. Staff don't appear to have adequate training. I have had my vein blow on both arms quite a few times. Recently they didn't to know arm and asked if I'd like them to try the other. I want to be able help people, I would have assumed the employees would be professional. I will not be returning.
My Fianc? Joshua Wofford is here right now as I leave this review. They have him sitting here waiting to get a replacement card for over 30 minutes! And that's just the start! They were giving him the runaround FOR NO REASON! He stayed polite about it and that's y I have to say something because that's not fair nor right. He told me if Ms Lisa was there none of this would have happen at all! She's on point with her customer service. Blood is all on his arm! Here is a pic!
I've donated here a dozen times. But I've had to leave here at least five times due to excessive lines and waits. On 01/21/25, I had a 250pm appt. I did not leave until after 6pm for a measly $40. On 01/26/25, I had an 925am appt. I waited until 1235pm and had to leave without donating! Four hours of my Sunday wasted including driving. Scheduling is just stupid here. I want to donate, but I'm not coming back until excessive scheduling is fixed! And don't bother with the generic reply relaying me to your web
Staff is nice but severely understaffed, avoid at all cost , waited 1 hour & 30 min in line just to get weighed, then they announced it'll be an extra 2 and a half hours to actually get plasma drawn. Joke of an establishment.
I went today for a 2pm appointment. The center closes at 3. I'm not exaggerating, there were at least 20-25 people in line to have their blood tested. The line went to the end of the building and was starting to snake around. How is this possible if everyone must have an appointment? Are you double booking appointments? I canceled my appointment and left. It would have taken over an hour to get through the first line just to sit for over an hour to wait to donate? with that many people waiting just to get
Great place, except the wait time is very long. Plan to be there 2-3 hours. Not enough staff for the volume of donors.
better organization. greet people on entry and give them some kind of directions. make appointments actually mean something. what's the point of appointments if you over book and have long wait times anyways. some staff are really nice and some are just rude and aggressive. I left early on my second donation after being yelled at again and over 90mins of waiting just to get into another line and wait.
The initial check in goes quick, but then you wait for a chair for the actual donation for well over an hour. I wish they allowed less people to register for a time slot so it was more time effective.
My appointment was at 10:30am. Here it is 12:30 and I'm still not on the donation floor. They only had 2 people sticking so that's only 2 sections out of 8 open. (6 beds in a section). It's been like this for weeks now. I would not suggest this company or at least this location. After today, I'll be going elsewhere, probably not even with BioLife anymore.
This was my first time giving plasma. Everyone on staff that I came in contact with was extremely welcoming and very thorough during the process. I felt at ease the whole time. Kudos to the whole staff, you guys are awesome!
Been going here for a while would give it a 4 star but today I had the worst experience with Kat short with a ragging attitude she tends to pick and choose who she decides to stick and has a smart mouth literally unprofessional. Management handled it Good but this still delayed my donation process and could of effect my blood pressure because of the negative attitude I was receiving from Kat.
I'm thinking of donating for the first time and no one picks up the phone ever. Yes I've called at various times in the past few days. I don't want to waste one hour drive without talking to someone first
As a new donor there is a promotion for 725$ after 8 successful donations. I initially had no problem until donation 6&7 out of 8.There is highly incompetent tech (her name starts with a A and wears glasses and works in station yellow) she will ALWAYS give you a hematoma and push the needle through your veins. Due to her poor technique I was UNABLE to complete my last donation and had FORFEIT my 100$.None of which was my fault!
Well I'm really glad that I decided to come to Biolife Catonsville. When I first came in, the intake techs Ms. Quinnisha very pleasant and inviting always has a beautiful smile on her face. Both of the young ladies went above and beyond to help with whatever you didn't have, and no matter how hectic it was, they never broke their professionalism. Then after I went through the intake process, I met with the nurse. The physical nurse Carlie, OMG she was such a beautiful soul. Carlie was very inviting, attitu
Very professional place. Had no issues so far with how the procedure is executed. For being absolutely new to this type of thing... not to bad after the first day ngl.
Not the best place to donate but the staff is very friendly, however I had an experience where a nurse fed a line in the machine incorrectly causing a kink and the blood pressure bag squeezed my arm to the point it was bruised for over a month. Afterwards, they wouldn't let me donate.
Teach your technician at your catonsville location her name is Kee-Kee to smile a little bit while she is at work tell her she needs to lose her attitude and teach her how to properly stick a patients arm it hurt so bad when she did mine she did not say sorry or are you ok and the needle was damn near sideways in my arm. If she does not like her job maybe she should find a new one in a different field. Ashley is the best employee there
The team members at this center are amazing! They have been very friendly and knowledgeable during all of my visits. I have donated blood through the Red Cross for years and have had negative experiences. I wish I would have known about BioLife earlier. I plan on scheduling future visits with this BioLife center.
Prior to your appointment you are supposed to drink a lot of fluids, so naturally I had to use the bathroom. There was no toilet paper in either of the bathrooms so I ended up I having to leave to use the bathroom elsewhere. Before this I asked if someone could put toilet paper in the restroom and 10 minutes had passed without anything being done about it. Because I left after already filling out my questionnaire I could no longer donate. So, in short I was deferred for the day because of the lack of necess
Took hours to be seen. The crew that was working the floor had no sense of urgency meanwhile the seats are filled and people are standing. Please train your employees to be diligent and efficient. People schedule appointments because they want to be seen at that time but they'll have you waiting to be seen hours after your ?appointment?
The entire staff is attentive and professional. They make the environment light and welcoming. They move things along pretty efficiently every time I've donated. Reading the tips from the website before your first visit will probably make things go even more smoothly, too.
Who ese place , so slow slow af . Take 4 hours to donate, garbage place , garbage place
my appointment was at 8:30 am I finished at 11:30 am This is the reason I STOPPED GOING over 6 months ago...If a person has an appointment it should not take over 2 hours.
I was actually going in for an appointment today as a new donor, but after reading these reviews, I decided to call just to get clarification on payment. After 5 calls and no answer, that's enough for me. A new donor should not have to search this hard to get answers. I'll try CSL.
Man Karly by far was amazing she made a tedious process when you 1st sign up fun. BioLife is by far way cleaner than octa or cal. But thanks again Karly you were amazing
My fist time and I loved it. Informative, friendly, gentle and fast. But to the days after, not so much. Even if you're done and the Machine is going off, they will take forever to unhook you. Not to mention there system is jacked up. Someone I know got permanently deferred for bio life?s mistake.
I consider that your attention is deficient. Waiting more than 10 minutes just for them to remove the needle and sell you a bandage is ridiculous.
I was SO excited to become a donor here, since I heard they pay the most and their bonuses are great. JOKE?S ON ME. The clock for your new donor bonuses starts the minute you walk in, and this is where they get you: The computer I used to enter my information was not calibrated, and so it ended up selecting a health issue when I selected I didn't have one. When I was called back for my physical, I was told that I had to wait to donate, that my doctor needed to let them know that I was actually good to dona
Another day with short staff and was told it would be a two wait, before even donating. Management is not doing a good job
I had an excellent experience and I love to help other people??God bless this place??????
Baltimore location has great staff! The line gets outrageously long especially Tuesdays! The wait lasts 3-4 hours when other days last 1.5-2.5. Short staffed every time i come!
The Staff is compassionate ,thoughtful, experienced and amazing. I ?? to donate, it serves everybody.. Medically and financially for the donor, but there can be more focus on providing adequate accommodations for the generous donors when short staffed. There is a waiting area with chairs to wait your turn for a donor recliner!?!. Why aren't stolls or light weight chairs on hand for waiting to be screened? It's a deterrent and forces those waiting individuals to consider walking out and how bout this... nev
The staff is great...wonderful, compared to a year or two ago. Much more experienced and efficient. But the lines are still long. The last time I visited, there was a strange loiterer asking people if they wanted to sell him cigarettes (while camping at the water fountain), and then a man behind me in line who harassed me for following the staff's directions on where to get in line. When I was donating, I heard another man getting pretty irate, accusing another person of being racist and disrespectful...lou
It's a nice place to go but some of them aren't friendly especially the short brown skin older lady that wears a ponytail straight back with the Eyeglasses. She gets smart with everyone. I understand she does her job but you can't do one little thing oh, you can't do that you can't do that but she get nasty with everybody, I watched her get smart with people not just me other people, but hopefully it'll get better with her but her attitude , it's just nasty no good hospitality overall it's a nice place and
I was first greeted upon entering even though they seemed to be busy, my physical was completed by Shane, he and the person at the front desk who took my information in did excellent on explaining the process and what to expect. The persons that seated me for my sessions were pleasant and also explained to me what to expect and asked if I was comfortable. I had an amazing experience, and can't wait to return. I've already referred two people to donate as well!
All the staff were professional and kind. The building is very very clean! No long wait time. Having nurses to assist with any questions as well making sure the public is safe. This location gets a 5 star rating from me. Ms. Maranda was the absolute best, she was gentle and had top of the line interpersonal skills. She made my first time feel like I was a family member. Thank you .Ms. C. Daniels
Everyone at this location was extremely helpful and courteous. They took their time being I was a first time donor and explain things well. From the front door to the end of the donation everything was very pleasant. Kudos to the Staff!
I'm giving the people that work there 5 stars. Not the company! I think the company could take better care of donors that aren't new and can't get the bonuses anymore. As for the actual place workers are very nice take time to talk to you all around good place to donate
Passionate in every way thank you for your services!
It was my first time and I was nervous plus a lot of questions but nurse Lauren answered them patiently and told how the process goes. The whole things was new to me but everyone was awesome to me.
I basically was scammed out of my donation bonus I got 2 donations in before they found a problem that I never had at any other plasma place which is my protein low I literally drink insure plus daily and water it's no way that's possible and my protein has never been low nowhere else And you have 30days to get the bonus and I won't be able to donate no more till after that date basically so yea SCAM I now that I've been to all 3 I recommend octaplasma or CSL plasma they make sure you get your money & there
This particular one I will not go back too smh! Go to the one on 919 Taylor Avenue best one I've been to.
The staff there are the best especially Ms. Ashley! She is very professionally and has great interpersonal skills and the reason I keep coming back. Majority of the staff are always nice and friendly. The reason for not giving a 5 star would be that sometimes the process can take up to 2.5-3 hours same days.
From my first visit to my 2nd visit every thing and everyone was very nice and friendly they take pride in their jobs and that's what I love about it the most???? nobody was stuck up snobbish or just not happy ???? although I'm a peoples person they all were very nice and pleasant ppl I love it there????
My physical nurse was terrible. She spent the whole exam talking about how trans people are liars who can't be trusted to tell their doctors the truth. As a trans person, I am incredibly offended and shocked that someone is allowed to speak to their patients like this. Very unprofessional.
It was good first experience everyone was very respectful and detailed. I think the front desk should go by the sign in sheet, because I was waiting for 10 mins and this other lady came and sat down and then she said she was there first so then I had to wait even longer, which was so inconsiderate but everything after that was smooth and giving the plasma was really easy and I felt very normal afterwards
Staff is pleasant. Facility is very clean and comfortable. I'm just not liking the decrease in paying. I feel even though I am donating for a good cause the payment should be the same for each time you donate. I'm not really liking it $30 or $40 then you come back for the second donation and get $70 or $80. I think it should stay at $70 or $80. I am donating a substantial amount of blood. Thank you. That's just my opinion. That's why I won't be coming back.
Times for donation are much too long. It took almost 3 hours from completing the checkin until I was out the door. With many new donors allowed to jump the line on both the pre screen and the actual donation, it really increases the time to donate. Then often after being called to the donation area, it can take another twenty minutes or more before being hooked up for the actual donation to start.
I donate here twice a week. The staff is always SO friendly to me and I try to be the same to them. Unfortunately for me, the Towson center is closer to my home but I've seen their staff will do anything to send people away when they're busy. Despite the additional 45 minutes it takes me due to traffic now that the bridge is down, it's far easier and more pleasant to just go here and deal with the traffic on the way home than it is to go to Towson just to be turned away for any reason whatsoever.
I went Saturday donate leave no money on card card. Wasted my gas went back up there the manger took 20 minutes to tell me it's been a delay. Here it is the next morning still no money on my card were is my money I have to work today I need my money. Don't donate here they play to many games.
They are very lovely that helpful and they always make me feel comfortable
Needs more staff. Extremely long waits. Staff is very nice but clearly too busy.
The staff was friendly and made donationing easy. They prioritized getting donors hooked up. However they should prioritize disconnecting donors. Once you have spent 11/2 at the location your ready to leave. It's always cold in here. Once your saline is administered, you are frozen and want to leave to get warm. They keep the temperature to cold. I also believe they should Raise the donation fee. By the time i pay tolls both ways and gas in my truck. I profit 24 of of my 40 I receive. It takes atleast 2 hou
I want to shoutout the staff of this location. Everyone I spoke to and encountered was extremely kind, welcoming, and attentive. They do seem to be short-staffed, or at least not have as many employees as they could have, but the people themselves are all great and I appreciate them a lot. I was a little intimidated for my first time but they took all of those worries away quickly. I have worked as a nurse before so I am familiar with the procedures associated with drawing blood, the staff all performed per
This was my first time ever donating! So for it to be a fast pace location it's lovely! Ashley is one of the best phlebotomist that have ever touched my arm or ever put in a IV , keep up the good work loveee !
The staff are pretty cool. I think sometimes they get overwhelmed. Ashley is really nice. I was stressed out a few weeks ago and was going through something. I had to take time out for myself. I can't wait to give plasma again this weekend
Terrible experience. I went yesterday for my physical and first donation. There aren't any clear signs or directions of what to do. Someone from the front desk just yelled out to me ?is this your first time?? Followed by ?did you make an appointment??. I was about 10 minutes early so I was seated on the side. It took about 1 hr to finally be checked in by someone. Then I was ?given priority? as a first time donor to be screened. After that I had to do a questionnaire on a computer. That took about 10 minute
Was told the grace period to be late to your appointment was 10 minutes and all of a sudden it was changed to 5 minutes. Even another donor in line asked when they all of a sudden changed the grace period. Employees need to be on the same page when giving information to donors. Won't be returning!
The staff there are very helpful and polite they make you feel welcomed everytime
My most recent experience was absolutely horrible. I went to the bioplasma in Catonsville and I regret going. Initially I went to get some extra money but the money isn't worth it at all. I just got out of the hospital. St. Agnes. My arm?s still hurting. I left messages all week and nobody returned my call.
Everyone is friendly. You see people from all walks in life. People are professional. They do get very busy after 5 pm. The wait sometimes is a little long but if you have the time you'll be fine. They also have water for you if you need it. The time you spend donating depends if you're a frequent water drinker or not. I'm normally done in 35 minutes or so.
It's quite and nice and fun plus they are nice and friendly
Wait time is too long for a set appointment still wait 2hrs after appointment time to get stuck
Had my 3rd donation today and every time has been amazing. Everyone is friendly, professional and efficient. Everything is very clean and run very efficiently and professionally.
The staff here were excellent! Despite the wait, I was able to get a physical and give plasma in the same day. The nurse on site was able to answer all of my questions and concerns after taking their questionnaire. And when I was giving plasma, the staff frequently checked on me to make sure I was feeling okay. The staff does recommend coming at an earlier time in the day to make sure the process for you goes smoothly. Definitely take your time to recover after you give plasma!
Awesome service from all the staff members. Still don't understand the purpose of appointment times, 9:40am appointment and donating at noon. Need more staff to support the customer demand. Will still return as donating plasma is bigger than me? helping several others!
They scheduled way too many people then after your 1st visit the say from here on our you'll only be here for an hour. Lies there is always a 1-3 hr wait not including your donation time for $70-$100.
Takes forever just to get anything done. I'm here right now. My appointment was at 11:30, its now 1:30 and I'm still sitting in the donation chair waiting for someone to set it up. The physical check had one person out of like 5 open stations with a massive line of people waiting and a full post check waiting area. i dont know if theyre just understaffed, or lazy 1/17: Went in for my appointment at 1:40, did my check in very quickly, its now 2:55 and im still sitting in the waiting area for my name to be
Everything about my experience was positive. Friendly and competent staff, clean and pleasant environment, easy process. Though I will remember to bring a sweater next time!
The staff is always professional and its a comfortable place to donate.
Nice techs. They work very hard. Clean facility too.
Don't go here they don't do anything but waste your time and people that actually do the sticking aren't very experienced.
Employees are mostly nice and it's clean inside. But most days I wait 20-40 minutes after screening just to begin the process after being seated in a section. Even with the incentives it's not worth the 3 hours it takes for just $110. Most of the time your wait is not acknowledged and the place is chronically understaffed. Today I waited 35 minutes in brown, got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back three minutes later someone was already in my seat. Probably won't be coming back because the time co
This is a repost of what another donor submitted, but i agree 100%. It's almost not worth coming, and everyone sitting here in this waiting room with me right now agrees. Why are the appointments so close? Why must the employees socialize so much? Why do we have to wait another 20-30 minutes to get hooked up after waiting an hour to get a chair. Very frustrating.... I can say that the employees are nice at least.... When I first started coming the wait times were okay. Now we're waiting 30 minutes to be
Annoyed that I booked an appointment two weeks out, and it was cancelled hours before without any mention or notification to me. Apparently you can't book too soon to when the center closes although the website allows you to. Communication could be better, and from my short time in there, one can tell it's under staffed. Maybe I'll try again but doesn't seem worth it
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
