First time donor-comfortable experience. I had different expectations seeing the volume of clients but to my surprise I was professionally and pleasantly taken good care of during my visit. From the time I walked in friendly greeting- also the dietician is very knowledgeable and motivating. The Star of the show?.. WILL IS AWESOME!!! He made my visit comfortable and often checking on progress i really appreciated that being I'm a first time donor. I was surprised to see such a well run engine like this and a
"I recently had the opportunity to donate plasma at BioLife Plasma, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. Will was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain each step, which helped ease any nerves I had. The facility was clean and well-organized, and I appreciated how they prioritized donor safety and comfort. I was in and out in a timely manner, and knowing that my donation could help those in need made it a
I came in and got told that, due to my "high estradiol dose" that, mind you, is biodentical and simply puts my estrogen levels where they should be for a woman my age, and poses no risk whatsoever to my health. They told me that if my doctor cleared it then I would be fine, and to simply have them fax the document in. So, I scheduled a doctor's appointment. My doctor seemed bewildered that they even needed his approval, but summarily sent it by fax and gave me a physical copy. I scheduled an appointment, we
These Guys are Great ,and Special Shout to Will the Technician who was able to find my veins with ease and get me in and out quick. I'm so glad I went to BioLife Plasma on 87th street. Give these guys a raise for the work they do
Wow I don't know where to begin.. standing in long lines or trying to use the restroom.,Lord have mercy ladies room nasty come from that trauma and next get back in line and wait your turn..dang if that isn't enough to raise your pressure..next people took the band off and blood everywhere..I'm good that's terrible some are nice but overall they could treat better the security is only there to clean blood up seriously if that don't elevate somebody heart rate I don't know what does never to mention I have y
TERRIBLE. Reporting to BBB, drove an hour because this center NEVER answers the phone. I was told they have no receptionist! How do people get test results? Ask about appointments? IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE STAFF DO NOT SCHEDULE PEOPLE! I went in and they were over an hour late for my appointment. LITERALLY TOOK 5 HOURS FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT. They have staff members assisting their family members and let them cut in front of everyone.
I've read a lot of reviews and I understand every one doesn't have a pleasant experience with everything. The staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The only downside was the site does not inform you that you have to donate about 8 separate times within a 30 day period to get the money advertised. Also the advertised amount was $750. I was told I'd received up to $650. This should be advertised instead of having to go through a questionare and everything else they offer to prequalify.
Very professional I love that every thing was explained to me place was very clean smelled good ms Kate and ms toneshia & jakaya was very respectful told me everything I need to know I love that I was so comfortable so please if you have trouble at any other center just come on over to BioLife ????????????!!
Staff very nice I love that they go by appointment and also how well organized this place is.
I have been coming to Biolife for a little over a year now. I try to stay to myself with my headphones because I now there's typically a wait, and the appointment time you choose doesn't really matter. That's a suggested time. The staff can be tempermental, it depends on if they are having a good day. I typically get rude or minimal interactions and just brush it off as "this is how our neighborhood is". I went this Saturday 3/29 for an appointment and was to complete my initial screening with Samantha, bu
Out of the two locations Ive gone too, Chicago's Biolife is the fastest to getting me out once I'm in line to donate. Some of the Gals, Mercedes, Erica, and Jakayla are excellent over there.
No help once in this place no receptionist to answer calls anything you guys really need to fire and replace entire crew hopefully it would make your team more professional and productive
I wish I could've given yo ass 0 stars...I've been calling them since March 11th, 2025 and it's March 18th now...still no answer. So, I decided to cancel my appointment due to Bio Life's unprofessionalism. I figured if they're too busy to answer the phone for my two lil measly questions, then they're definitely too busy to be sticking me. All money isn't good money ladies and gentlemen ??????
I change my mind a few employees have respect I should name ?em but I won't ..The rest of em are Need of training again and learn how to run someone?s business cuz it's really getting worst and some of em come to work negative and it's a lot of ppl that loves to work hard and learn new skills ?
I like the donor fees but the place is understaff as well they don't answer the phone if any new donor is recommended that you just get new donor fees and go somewhere else
This is not a good place to go to every time I go its a problem the people move slow and don't take they job serious and its a red head lady who give most people a ugly look or problem every time i'm there.
Hands down the worst place to donate blood. When the narrative is pushed about blood shortages and the need for donors, bring up Biolife. After months of trying to donate at this ghetto, unprofessional place. I finally donate twice. Only for them not allow a 3rd donation saying they checked my blood and my protein was out of range. This after two successful vital checks so I'm wondering what's the point of vital checks? A question I have never asked in the 2 yrs of donating at other facilities. The nurse s
Constantly misdirected and with numerous account information errors, and payment delays or complete lack of compensation. With extremely rude and abrasive security. An overwhelming amount of racial bias.
To whom it may concern I had been coming to BioLife for the past five months and those five months I have had unsuccessful donations. I was told that I could request a certain person each time I came into the center. Well fast forward I found someone that was able to stick correctly each time I came. However, the person that was able to provide me with a perfect plasma, donation was given a promotion and could choose to assist donors or to assist donors in the donation process. Because no one else was able
The staff was extremely friendly, and the experience was good overall as well. Will defiantly be back.
Work needed asap poor staff long wait unnecessary Declines for mishabs of computer work ask the questions there's people who can not read but want to do this but yous make it impossible fix or get new people
After almost 3 hours they told me my veins were too small. They allowed me to complete a physical, do blood work, complete multiple questionnaires, and then tells me you need a good vein in both arms.... not one. They don't have this listed on their policy so people can understand that risk. They didn't compensate me for my time.... they didn't even offer enough for bus fare home. It's very very risky trying to do business here as multiple people experienced the same thing. It was only after I left, someone
Not enough computers to check in. Did not communicate that proof of address is required for 2nd visit.
It was and is always quick and easy. Sometimes there are longer lines. Though they do give you time. The longest ive seen some one there is 5 to 6 hours. Mostly people who stay hydrated and dont smoke anything usually are in and out quickly. As a good diet and ample water helps tremendously. Stay Amazing everyone!!
Terrible Terrible my appointment was at 3:23 pm I been sitting waiting till some lady name Erica came back from the bathroom another sat down and was placed before me
They really need to shut this location down, they never wonna give appointments, they tell you to book, but there's never an opening for new comers, they never answer the phones. Very rudely and very disrespectful.
Will and the rest of the staff always helps me with info and always makes me feel comfortable.
Every one nice and polite and they move pretty fast....I will be going back ??
The place is extremely friendly however it takes days for me to get my funds
I will never come back. It a waste of time especially if you need an appointment to just donate. That's ridiculous!!!!
I had a great experience not a very long wait the nurse called me in her office I passed the exam answered some questions .and I was very comfortable with her. She was kind she felt like a friend who was very professional.?? and I just met her. The young man who stuck me was very kind he answered all my questions made me very comfortable jose was very professional
Clean and friendly. Great service from a very professional staff.
This location takes the longest. Other locations I'll be in and out by 30- 35 minutes. This location takes an hour minimum. Between the staff just chilling and talking shi about others and the security getting in the middle of their work. Definitely wish it was as efficient as the other locations I've been too. Also I get a hematoma every other time I got there. They need to brush up on their training.
The employees are very respectful, nice and polite to the donors. Come out to BioLife and give the medicine of helping others through your donation
Very friendly staff everyone knows wht their doing will is the best poker I recommend him anytime very gentle n caring
The lines be long need more workers like today line was long as a donor I hate that because I be want to get in n out lines be long that's ridiculous feet be hurting standing in them long lines
Little slow starting but, no other issues, staff very nice ??
I have to admit, since my last donation, the staff has really gotten it together. They are more focused on doing their jobs than socializing with each other. You not waiting 30 minutes just to be connected anymore.
Unable to schedule through the mobile app because a state to state address transfer requires a phone call to the new location which is cool by be. Called daily for over week to get someone answer the phone. Gal I finally connected with was super cool and helped me change the address and even helped me lock up a visit time. arrived 10-minutes early stood in line for 30-minutes after my scheduled appointment time no courtesy status while waiting sketchy neighborhood indifferent staff security guard was more
I left a bad review a month ago here is a even worse one, the workers are lazy, unpleasant and unprofessional they are way to strict and quick to send you back home even of you are minute late. The one screener in the front thats skinny and wears glasses with the brown weave is the worse one, horrible attitude and professionalism and seems illeraterate. They will send you back if you smell like weed which is bs by the way weed is legal, if they dont like you they will send you home and their nurses are uned
The experience I've h ad donating this life saving fluid isn't for monetary game for there is none it's the notion that I'm helping to prolong someone's life that's priceless
The staff at 87th were friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about their work and everyone worked as a team. Overall, it was a very pleasant donating experience.
The process was very long. I arrived for my appointment at 11:40 and did not complete my donation until 3pm. The computer I was using did not work properly and my responses were no captured. It was so cold in that building. I noticed the thermostat was set at 20 degrees. I will be sure to dress warmer for my next donation.
This place brings in bad people and the workers are lazy. I will go to another location from now on because this place is so terrible, it raises my heart rate and subsequently I get denied. This never happens at Harwood Heights because it's a calm setting.
Sidney did a wonderful efficient job in sticking me & making sure the entire process was exceptional. I definitely would consider pushing her into a higher role. Thank you Sidney ????
This establishment is very neat and clean. The employees handle every patient with care! the process is fairly fast having appointments make things much easier.
Annie is very professional with the entire process. When something goes wrong she's there to help fix the problem and explain to you what's going on.The workers are all friendly and polite. The place is always clean.
Unprofessional, Do your research before you decide to donate at this particular location and business:
Great staff but horrible system; you'll never get your full amount because you have to make an appointment to donate and you have to make 2 donations in same 7 day period to receive the maximum amount but they make you wait another week to donate instead of 2 days later(they'll claim to be booked but in reality it saves them money because they just keep giving you $40)
Danisha has people skills as she builds interpersonal relationships with clients. She empathizes with them and knows their needs and wants to make them feel comfortable to express their concerns and needs. Taking blood work can be draining, but I'm here to help the community as a whole and that's where she comes in. She makes sure both her clients have quality costumer care and working with her team by showing workmanship and discipline.
The employee is very nice respectful, helpful and friendly. The staff is very good at what they do and I would recommend that any body would go to them.
Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The only complaint would be that the overall process was very long. I was told it would take about 2 hours, I was there for 3 hours.
I would leave a review internally, but even though I received a feedback reminder email the day before, when I went to actually provide feedback, I was not able to because my survey session had ended. I would have rather kept my review private, since the reasons include personal health information. So then it's a mystery for why I leave 2 stars.
I really like this facility but, the staff is exceptional! Danesha really went above and beyond to help me. She talked me through the process and made me feel comfortable and at ease! Thank you Danesha I truly appreciate everything you did for me!
Clean, comfortable, and the technicians are friendly which makes it easy to donate.
Highly unprofessional and takes longer than octa?that's pretty bad. If you have anything to do after donating, don't. You won't have time. I'll never come back to this location. And a mouse trap in the corner definitely isn't a comfortable feel given it is possible that it's been in storage with all items used for donations. And I know everything is wrapped but if you open the packaging you will touch the item of use and that will touch me. Very unsanitary. Won't be back omg!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting A beautiful And amazing woman Nurse Cici. She was so informative, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and caring about her patients. I loved her so much can't wait to come back. When y?all visits ask for Cici she's the best!!!
~although the staff is friendly. it is extremely slow moving over here. Was there for a total of 3 hours.?? i had an appointment at 4:30, had to stand around in line. they don't want you to use the chairs. i didn't get to sit until 6:30. the cleanliness needs attention, i had to ask them to wipe down the chair before i sat. the trash cans throughout are All Always overflowing.?? this is the norm for this location.
Fast, clean, workers are very respectful... accept that old guy that got grey hair. He doesn't need to stick anyone because he don't know what he's doing
Takes 3 hours to get thru donation process , security act like prison guards
I can clearly tell when I donated at this center that their staff is undertrained. A total lack for compassion for their donors. I usually donate at the Harlem location but noticed this location was closer, I regretted this decision. As soon as I entered there was complete chaos. People everywhere. The wait to be seen for donating eligibility took a long time. I'm not too impatient but when I say they dragged, they dragged! I don't blame them however, I can tell they're really understaffed. After being chec
I must say this was first time donating and Danesha made the experience so much better. Very polite bed side manners amazing and always kept a smile. Dealing with good people makes life so much easier. Thanks again Danesha for being soooo Amazing!!!!
A great way to get a few extra dollars in your pocket with the thought of helping someone else in the future. The staff there is great! The physician CeCe is kind, honest, and gentle. She makes you feel comfortable, welcomed, and relaxed. Thank you all for the lovely donation experience.
When I first started going it was great. Place is clean staff was friendly and polite. After about 2 months they started hiriring anything. This one lady was so rude to me she literally tried to fight me and I got deferred I'm done donating forever at all centers
Wonderful staff, and their quick. I think the appointment system they have keeps them from being overwhelmed which is a great idea.
I always for Kaya but everyone at this location has always been kind and professional.
Danysha, Noah, and Jordan were all nice amd welcoming. I'm a new donor, and once I got on the floor, Danysha and Jordan were prompt, sweet, checked on me, made adjustments when I needed them, and made my overall experience a great. 10 out of 10, definitely recommend
Miss Simone did her thing up front, she was treating me so well it felt like she was family. Jordan was respectful cool minded and friendly patient with me and made it a good over all experience.
Ms. Annie Bryan made my second Day Back feel like My first. I was nervous because My first day I had a nurse stick me wrong. She happens to be the supervisor and I highly recommend you ask her to poke you when you come/go to visit. She assured me that she would take her time and stick me where I'm comfortable and deserves Recognition!
Danesha is good at serving the community as she has a way of showing compassion for customers. She makes you feel comfortable and confident when showing vulnerabilities and concerns that you have especially when you have questions that you're not sure of. Thank you Danesha!
I had to change this review from positive to negative. While the new donor compensation is great, thier return donor fees are the lowest in the nation. For that reason, if you looking for steady income, check out other plasma donation centers.
Long wait. Made me talk with nurse first two times donating.
Had a great experience being a first time donor at this new Plasma Center. I was in and out within 2.5 hours!! The front desk was helpful, ensuring check in was smooth. The entire space was clean, including the bathroom. I'm addition, they offer you crackers and water before donating, which is a plus! Symone was great with helping me create my account. She was full of conversation, smiles, and laughter. She should consider photography as a side hustle with how good my photo came out, LOL. The nurse was ve
This was my first experience donating plasma and it was more than I'd expected. The center was very clean and the staff was very understanding and helpful. I was fortunate enough to have the best technicians in Chicago to draw my blood and to provide services for the plasma deposit. The management was on top of things, even when circumstances arose they gave clarity on the situation and answered any questions patrons would have. I look forward to my next plasma donation in the next few months or so. Great
BioLife is an overall great and clean facility. The staff are awesome, and when I say awesome I mean the customer service is great. One member that really sticks out to Me is Ms. Deonna. She's sweet, gentle and overall a great team player. Thanks to Ms. Deonna and the BioLife crew on the south side of Chicago ????
I think overall, the staff was great. Didn't like how many times they had to move my needle, caused several bruising marks on my arm.
They tell you your a hero in the beginning but treat you like a 0 after that first donation, don't waste your time in this place, CSL Plasma has always been a better option no appointment needed.
The new best plasma place . Have u in an out in good time . And go by their appointments. And let u start donation 10 mins before appointment. And the whole staff has a vibe . So many good and nice people can't just name one person to ask for. Will recommend to every new donor to go for extra cash . Be sure u have all ur paperwork to say u who you are. Recommended ahead of time . So you don't waste your time .
I go at least twice a week donating plasma with BioLife plasma is more than a deed it is a pleasure of mine, the staff from management to security is picked and selected very well, stepping into this facility is like going to visit friends and associates. A very professional environment but yet very relatable I will continue to go as long as I have plasma in me ????????????
Rude customer service at the front desk. Disorganized staff. The staff here has complete and utter disdain for the people who donate. No human compassion. No peaceful atmosphere. A very unhealthy environment. There is no efficiency to move the donors in and out in as quickly as possible in order to minimize the disorderly conduct of some of the donors. I could list a cadre of things but I'll nip it here.
I signed up on the Biolife website to become a donor 12/26/23. The earliest appointment available for a new donor was 1/3/24. So on 1/3/24, I presented my ID and social security card and then proceeded to complete the questionnaire in regards to my medical history. After that the nurse asked me a few questions and proceeded to give me some goldfish crackers and an ensure protein drink. During the examination she noticed it was a brown spot in my tongue and couldn't proceed with the examination. I informed h
The staff is very understanding and friendly they make sure that as a patient your well accommodated and if anything bothers you they quickly respond to your needs.
How y'all got a phone number but literally never answer?
This was a recent appointment at BioLife. All of the visits were professional and thorough. All question and procedures handled promptly. I have no regrets becoming a plasma donor
Porsha has consistenty made my visits quick and pleasant. I have a lot of questions and need a lot of reassurance. She's been patient and clearly explained the process. I'm grateful to the entire team for making the process quick and efficient. It's easy to become a number in Chicago, but Porsha welcomed me back, made me feel seen and heard. If you've had bad experiences with needles, doctors or people in general I suggest this be your donation center.
They were professional, courteous and clean very cordial and went beyond to make sure my donation was received from start to finish
Im sorry to say that it's not worth my time?. $40 for 1 hour? 20 min there 20 min back. No.
This is an excellent facility but its problems Are from its successful marketing. Repeat donating last week 2 1/2 hours and this week 3 1/2 hours. With proper management start to finish should be 1 1/2 hours. I know they will get better.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
