Absolutely love Alejandro & Nicole! Best phlebotomist! Smooth , painless and no post hideous bruising! Don't fall under "loosing blood cells", these two get the job well done all the time! We love you guys! Your work speaks for itself ???????
Always good hearted people that work there. Quiet time to relax and slow down for a quick minute. New machines are really nice and always clean clean clean. Bring a sweatshirt it gets chilly in there. Nice way to give back and help your society as well. Oh and they pay you
It's unfortunate because all in all the staff is typically very friendly and polite but the wait time is out of hand far too often. I'm used to it a little more during the holidays but as that crowd thins out this shouldn't be an issue. I realize that keeping enough staff can be difficult, but set up appointments accordingly. Seems like you can just make one whenever and there's nothing controlling the amount of appointments per time slot. Might as well make it a walk in basis at that point.
This place use to be positive upbeat and professional. My last visit they had some super tall new guy stick my arm. Worst experience I ever had. I'm sure he is a nice person but his white coat looked like he was a mechanic after work. This should be a place of cleanliness and professionalism when stabbing peoples arms extracting this liquid gold you call plasma. Now I have to drive further away to donate cause I'm sure not returning to dekalb. BTW shout to Addison location for being better... that's all f
Amazing staff, except the skinny tall guy that bruised my arm because he stuck the needle through my vein, randomly keeps a hold of your money with no way of contacting them or asking them for help, the website gives you the run around instead of connecting you to an actual agent. Fix your technical issues and I'll fix my rating.
Employees were quite professional and focused. Site was very clean and sanitary looking. If I could say one thing I didn't like it was wait time. Only 2 people working front desk. Then one called away to help new donor.
Overall very great experience. One of phlebotomist who I did not get the name of, he is a tall white male, was very friendly and was very knowledgeable when I asked him a question. All the other phlebotomists were amazing as-well and always made sure I was ok during the donation process. The only thing I don't necessarily like is the wait times even when having an appointment but that doesn't bother me too much because I understand they are hard working and doing their best to get to the patients on time. I
Very professional staff. Nice folks too. Clean and well thought out facility. I'm bringing in the extra cash I need. Also they actually seem to care.
The staff makes you feel welcomed. Outstanding customer service. Cross training and knowledge is the key.
You have great people working there who care for how well your experience goes from the moment you walk in the door.
Love the new machines !! They cut donating time down in usually an hour and it only took 37 minutes yesterday so that's a plus !
I hate giving this review score. There's some really nice ppl here. There's a few bad ppl too. Recently it has started to really suck going here from lack of staff and wait times being too long. Standing and waiting for hr is too long? 2 hrs is not acceptable . I walked out last time. I have never done that before. They have sections not opened or operating for whatever reason that I assume is from lack of staff. I enjoy the fact that I help ppl but my time still has value as I'm actually a very busy person
Good friendly staff that keep the time from start to finish at a minimum. Merita is great! She gets the needle in first time, every time. The other Phlebs, don't have the skills Merita does.
Staff is always friendly and respectful..the staff does there job very well and makes sure that your doing ok while your donating
I recently visited BioLife and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. Despite having an appointment, the wait time was excessively long - over a hour. The facility seemed disorganized, with staff appearing overwhelmed and unprepared. The professionalism was lacking, with some staff members displaying a cavalier attitude towards donors. Communication was poor, leaving me unsure of what was happening or how much longer I'd be waiting. The actual donation process was efficient, but the preceding de
Having background experience in healthcare ,these techs do amazing! some are better than others! I have my group of favorites, Marita, Nicole, Alejandro its amazing its so painless! Clean and well ran practice! Keep up the good work guys! You all rock.
I recommend Gregory page to do anyone who new that comes here he a good worker and he does his job very well he gets it on the first try every time
Jan is the best. She's friendly and moves along quick but safely. Never even felt a pinch. The whole staff is great. Not a single person there, I'd have a bad word about.
Don't go here if you're looking for instant payment. It's takes hours or days sometimes. It use to be instant
Addendum: I came back because i heard they recieved newer/faster machines. I was pleasantly surprised. Best of all was the R&B station that played the entire time. I was soothed to the sound of "Wet A** P***y" by Cardi B, and other classics! Stay classy Biolife. Way to keep your image! I was a donor years ago and would be in and out in just over an hour. Now, it's at least a 2 hour visit and looks and feels like a uncoordinated scramble without any sense of urgency. I have never felt like there was a risk
I've been coming to this place for quite some time just the house are very professional
Tech was great! New machines are pretty fast
The staff were great! I registered online and when I came in...(late)...they still attended to me quickly. I was impressed by the staff paying attention to details..Aldo requiring the donor to engage. The facility was cleaned and sterilized before the next donor. The staff are well trained especially with new donors to ensure safety. I highly recommend this facility to be the "Plasma Place To Go"
The staff is super friendly. Very clean facility. They are very informative. Explained everything in detail the 1st time. They definitely deserve two thumbs up!! Great experience!
Nae is incredible. She always is in a great mood. It's always fun to be in Nae ?s section because she smiles and hums to the music. You never know what Nae?s hair will look like but, you can guarantee that she adds that touch of personalized service that's always entertaining.
My experience at bio life was very nice. The facility was very clean and well kept up and organized. The staff was very nice, pleasant, and patient. Seeing that this was my first time getting a donation. The process was a little bit longer with the questionnaire. However, it was a smooth process with no problems. I recommend it to anybody that's willing to donate, or is in a tight squeeze with cash. I got my card immediately, activated it, and I had my funds.
Everyone at this location is always very nice. This place is always very, very clean. Everyone has a gray attitude and seems to actually like working there. I'm always thanked for my donation and I'm always glad to come back because I'm treated well at this location
My experience here has always been great. Ive been donating for over a year now and one particular person has been great...Christina is awesome and is on top of getting everyonetaken care of quickly. She is always smiling and in a great mood.
I was just there today. This place is terrible and a complete lie. They told me on the phone and I verified on the reward Internet that I was eligible to donate today. I drove 24 miles and when I got their, I was told I could not donate. I wasted my gas and time. They were condescending and rude. If I could give them a zero, I would.
Friendly and efficient staff. I would like to see better promotions offered. I wasn't able to meet the first monthly criteria due to a health issue that prevented me from donating. I would donate more often if better payouts were offered.
I went to start my process and was told I need clearance for a blood clot I had 4 years ago and my sleep apena that I barely even have. I've continually called and called and have left messages all month and they have never once called me back in the last 2 and a half weeks! The sleep center never received the note and I don't even know about my primary because this facility won't call me back!
The building was clean. First appointment took four hours partially because the first employee I dealt with entered my social security number wrong and then couldn't figure out why the computer couldn't find me. The staff was more concerned with whose turn it was to take a break than the fact that I was bleeding all over the chair. I left my third appointment with a hematoma in both arms. The money is nice, but I'm not sure that I will be going back.
Staff is very friendly. They are very good at what they do. Everything is clean and well organized. Would recommend this facility!
Great service to offer for the benefit of others, good and professional service provided by the technicians, and doing well to maintain the facility. I think the work they do here for the community and their donors is well off work and should never be overlooked for what they provide. Donate, donate, donate!
I have been a donor for over 2 years now and the pay continues to get worse, and there is no promotions like there used to be. If you truly valued the people that consistently came in, you'd compensate them accordingly. You wouldn't reduce their compensation. Please consider this for your ?valued? customers.
I absolutely love this location! I deliberately drive out of my way to come here. if i could ask for Jonathan or Nicole every single time I would, they go above and beyond to make my experience enjoyable. great staff, very clean location and in and out in a jiffy.
Took an early A.M. appointment to accommodate my schedule and I waited 45 minutes in line with 4 other individuals in front of me. I never even got seated. I had to leave because I have other obligations immediately thereafter. I Never got stuck. They won't let me come back that same day because I ?filled out a questionnaire.? Seems to me if I didn't get stuck I should be able to come back because they were I'll prepared for early scheduled appointments. If you offer to schedule a donation at 620 am and ev
I have been going for over a year and the staff is so amazing! I love Eva, Angie, Jonathan, Malcom, Nicole, Diana, Greg, and just every single one of them! It's always super clean and efficient. I will continue to go for years to come just to see they friendly faces and feel the good I'm doing for someone in need of my life saving plasma!!
You make an appointment at 8:10am? don't sit in a donation chair until 8:50am? don't get hooked up to the machine and actually start your donation until 9:10am? a whole hour after your appointment time. Why allow so many people to book appointments if you're not able to accommodate? This is literally every single time I come here, which is twice a week. Also, during screening, there is one employee I see cross contaminating supplies. They switch gloves between each client but while he is with his current cl
It's a great way to make a little extra money. The staff is always welcoming. Today I had Brittany, she's always so helpful and accommodating. Never really had a bad experience.
Pay is nice, staff is usually always friendly even when we all have bad days. They seem understaffed but so is every other business in the us. Wait times can be long but you can see they are busy during those times. Ive had a few reactions but they are always kind thru them and do whatever they can to make you comfortable during a reaction
The best plasma place I have been to my 4 years of donating. The cleanest, most efficient, most friendly staff I've ever had. I enjoy going to go donate knowing who will be taking care of me!
The staff was so funny, fantastic and making the most of a crazy situation. The reason I marked only satisfied is because the wait was REALLY long. Hours of waiting. Rough considering I had an appointment.
I'm a regular here. Donating is one of my ways of giving back to the community. One day I came in with a heavy heart and emotional due to personal reasonings. Ms Christina and Nicole came around to check on me multiple times. And even prior to that occurrence them and the staff in general are very welcoming and nice.
I went back to give my donation on Tuesday 10/22 at 7pm. The line was terribly long just to check in. Wrapped all through the entrance area. I left. Haven't been back since because of the long wait times
Very comfortable process for blood donation...easy and professional!
Just started giving plasma here about a month ago. Payout is good with the new donor promo. All the employees I come across are hard working professional. The wait times generally aren't too bad. Obviously, if they had more workers they could fill all the positions and not fall behind. Looking forward to continue this as I do enjoy giving it and helping others.
Always super friendly when I go! They always make sure you feel comfortable during your donation! I have never had a bad experience! I tell everyone to go!
Overall my experience has been very good. However, once you get your first 8 donations done, the pay for your donations gets cut in half. So you go from 900 in your first month to 480. Why would you basically penalize the donors who come back time after time? I won't come back for 480 a month. Reward your regular donors, make them feel the love. Make it worth our time, like when we were all new donors.
This post is going to be long, but it's incredibly important that if you have ever considered donating plasma you read it. If you know me at all, you know that I am usually as tolerant as they come when it comes to human error. But this has caused me so much emotional distress that I refuse to stay silent about it. At the beginning of January, I decided to start donating plasma at BioLife Plasma Services. The first time I donated, they took some blood in order to send it to their lab to test it for any iss
They are very kind, and walked me through the whole process. If there were any problems, they immediately came to see what was wrong and asked if I was fine. They made me feel welcomed!
I've been donating here for about a year and I really enjoy it. Clean facility and the staff is actually really nice if you get a chance to know and chat with them. However, this facility is extremely busy and short staffed. The employees work so hard and are often met with disgruntled donors. The staff here really does an amazing job and I appreciate all their efforts to keep the facility safe during the pandemic.
Marita is able to poke me the first time without feeling it, she also watches everyone closely to make sure they are ok.
I have been going to this establishment for over 5 yrs nows Off & on of course & I've also tried other ones & let me tell u BioLife is the best to ever do it Now keep in mind when u register it is going to take you two hours but after that it should take a hour or less long as u stay hydrated that part is up to u I love the staff fast friendly & always on point And if u are in a rush never ever go on Sat It's their busiest day I will always come to this facility ???? No complaints from me
Half the time I go they miss the vein and have to dig around. It's not comfortable and usually leaves a bruise. The compensation should be higher if this is the treatment. Better training may be needed for employees.
Staff is very professional and friendly. They work really hard taking good care of all of the donors. Very clean environment as well.
Med team here is a joke. They'll purposely delay your paperwork and it's next to impossible to get a hold of anyone. It's like they want that comeback card they give you to expire before they'll see you again. Definitely recommend another location.
All through August 2024 do not go inside BioLife plasma in Dekalb Illinois. They have a shortage on their bio life cards where you will not get paid until three days after you donate. I called the number on the card. He told me he cannot access my account because BioLife system is down right now but they will not tell you that when you go inside because they still need you to donate they will just tell you to wait 24 hours for your money to come on there. Thank me later
They have a red haired lady that takes your vitals, she's the worst. I watched her tell 5 people in a row that they couldn't donate because of high blood pressure. Never had an issue donating here unless it's this woman that takes my vitals. The supervisor was no help solving the issue either
Friendly and professional staff! You go in and they're there to help! In and out! I was wearing steel toe boots and Connor explained that layers a heavy boots would make cause me to donate more. Very informational!
Very friendly staff and good experience. May have a bad stick which is rare, but overall, it usually goes very well.
I'm editing my review, I had an issue that turned out to be my fault. I didn't read the terms of a coupon completely. 100% my fault. The facility is always clean, and everyone is always polite and professional. My experience has been good every time.
I love going to BioLife! Everyone is helpful and pleasant. All the staff really seems to care about you and helps you get through your donation quickly and professionally.
Great customer service that keeps atmosphere lively and welcoming. A certain employee that goes by the name of Nae really helps me feel comfortable and laughing through the whole process.
As always it was an absolute pleasure to have Nicole H. be with me today for my donation. She has never been anything but kind and a joy to have around. Thanks Nicole!
I've had good experiences with this place. The staff is efficient as best they can be with lots of people coming in with different schedules. They are clean and comfortable.
I walked in and was stared down by two employees right away I felt like they were annoyed I walked in at 7:20pm This girl turned me down for a high pulse but didn't even let me sit 5 mins. I explained I get nervous since it was my first time donating at this location and she insisted I couldn't donate that I could come back tomorrow. Usually I am offered 10 mins or 5 mins at my usual donating location in Addison. The experience was very bad.
I had many issues during my visit. First, there was no receptionist to address any questions, especially as I first tile donor. Second, I spent at least 10 minutes ok line to get up to an employee that could answer my questions only to be told to go up front and have to have them entire my information in the system. Third, I to do a pre-screening which required over 10 minutes on a computer to answer more questions. Fourth, I spent another at least 15 minutes in am exam room only to he told I need a doc
Not enough staff to attend to donors so wait time in line is long. DeKalb facility is not cleaned properly and the landscaping is now full of weeds and dead/dying plants. I've done well over 500 donations here and have seen this decline. This is a medical facility. I expect better conditions.
Update to my original review: I was there a total of 4 hours for my first visit. Also, left with a hematoma that apparently was due to "a bad stick" according to another tech. Wish I was closer to Rockford, they prob still care how people are treated since they're new. Brittney and Kari were great, dunno how id describe the other techs. Also, took me over 3 hrs for my first visit. Hopefully it won't be the same for my next ...
Very satisfied! Malcolm and Christina did a wonderful job!! The staff is very friendly and personable. Always a great experience when I come here!
I really enjoy coming here to donate. Everything is efficient and clean. Staff are great. I would definitely recommend giving it a go if you haven't ??
Always sweet to people, staff is kind and gentle, they check up every few minutes and make you feel comfortable each and every time
They need more employees. Sat for 10 min before being hooked up and even longer after I was done. Shouldn't take almost 2 hours to donate.
I spent 2.5 hours answering questions and on the computer to find out I needed my Drs permission, a form, for him to fill out. My Dr was sent multiple forms, multiple times. The final one he wanted to see me about a confessed illness of 40 years ago. I paid my copay, got the paperwork done, only to get a phone call 2 hours before my appointment telling me that my A1C was too high and I needed to get tested again. I said on my first appointment that I was prediabetic and beginning diet and medication. Nothin
The staff is nice and the facility is well kept. However, donation times are around 2 hours no matter what time I go. I also had an issue with my account for months before it was finally fixed. Their system thought I was always a new donor which led to the staff having to mess with stuff on the computer just so I could donate. During that time many other people would get a head of me in line which led to even longer wait times for me. Over my 15 donations that my account was messed up I waited an extra 10 o
I come to this Biolife every week and am always impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the center. Nia did my stick today and she is clearly a trained hand - I didn't even feel the needle! As always, happy with my experience and people here!
No wait time. The donation process went very smoothly. The phlebotomist was outstanding and I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours.
This center has improved greatly over the last year. No more long wait to be seated, cleanliness and friendly staff are added bonuses. Keep up the good work
similar to other reviews. I went 3 times, always hydrated, all the proper documentation, each time they wouldn't stick me. I'm a gallon club member at Versiti and donated twice a week at Octapharma Aurora for 3 years, but they insisted my veins weren't workable. Staff seemed nice but definitely a waste of time. Plus they obviously don't understand that their phone number is disconnected Update 1/23: happy to report they misused my personal data, so I received $470 as part of a class-action lawsuit. So I at
Usually I don't have any problems donating (no air bubbles or need additional attention). My only issue is not finding anyone adept enough to handle a small rolling vein on my left arm. I've decided I can only donate on the right.
It's okay. The phlebotomist aren't the best so you better have big veins. And apparently you're not allowed to walk out to your car to grab your headphones after you do the kiosk questions even before the blood pressure measurements, which is strange.
Merita seems to be the only one I can truly rely on for sticking me with a needle. Not only is she very sweet and nice to talk to but, she's my go to person. All others always seems to have trouble with my veins. Then I have to have Merita do an adjustment. I dred going into BioLife and she's not there. I praise her for a job very well done.
I've been donating for a while now and have never had a bad experience. The staff is extremely friendly and well trained. Each donation sheets goes so smoothly. Love it here and will definitely continue to donate here.
The staff is like any employee that has to deal with customers. To me they were not disrespectful during any interaction. When I was turned away bc of high heart beat they were very apologetic towards me. It's an easy process that you have to take the risk of your time being taken or dealing with other people behind you in line. If you plan to go to any location for donating plasma please be aware these are human beings moving as fast as they can for your quick $90.00. I would love to continue donating here
Everyone I encountered with at BioLife tonight was great. I don't have everyone?s names but the few I remembered were Tarry, Marie, Daniel, Riley, and I think Tim. They were all friendly and had great communication. I'm real happy to consistently see a great team
5 star clean environment, my nurse was awesome no pain with my stick and she is very professional her name was Angie if you could request I'd chose her professionalism! Thank you bio life -dekalb
I started donating plasma after coming into a center to do an audit on their floor care. I absolutely HATE needles and blood and all that goes with it. However at this plasma center one of the gentleman who's clearly been here named Johnathan Barrera walked me through my first few donations actually as I refused to let anyone else stick me. The first day this man was singing and dancing through the floor to Michael Jackson. I'll never forget it!! There went my fears and not sure feeling. To be honest he's o
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
