Love the Grandville Biolife and donated for several years. The staff is amazing and I have always had a great experience. Up until a nurse with the name tag ?Cocktail Caroline? was VERY rude to me. We were doing my physical and she accused me of having a new piercing without indicating it (I did indicate it). She told me, verbatim, that if I found a picture where my ear hole looked red, it could serve as proof and allow me to donate?. I was trying to stand up for myself but she could not handle it and aske
All the staff here are rockstars!! Always a pleasant experience. But yesterday Story was great!! I've donated seven times on each time my machine always flushes red and vibrates on me, but she poked me of heartlessly and set my rate at 95 versus 100 and it was smooth sailing and donating went much quicker bc the machine didnt keep stopping and starting.
Amazing service from LeAnn! She is the sweetest, kindest, and caring lady that I've ever met. She engages so well in conversation and makes donors feel entirely comfortable!
I am a return donor. I've been coming on & off since 2012. At first, it was great never had any issues with being paid on time but now I spent $20 at Speedway for gas and the bank BioLife uses tells me there is a 8 day hold on the account because it's pending. The same issue was happening about a year ago so I stopped going. I come back to the same exact thing new card fresh start same result. I have over 750 donations with this place and I am just done and tired of the unreliability this company has when i
The young women at this location are infinitely helpful. The middle age and up women however are clearly too sexist or politically driven against blue collar workers to help them. Long story short, my heart rate kept reading high, through my own digging after being insulted and turned away I found out the oatmeal I had been eating in the mornings likely sabatoged myself. Instead of asking a single question when I asked for council about my heart rate, the only thing said was that I "needed therapy". Not to
The people are great and friendly. Your always get someone different every time. It makes it fun. They also kinda become your second family for they people who donate twice a week every week. I always like joking and talking to the person who's prepping me.
Everyone is nice and professional. Libby, in particular, is excellent! The extra money is great, and knowing I'm helping society in a small way is rewarding.
Gavin was so good to me. He talked me through everything. He made me feel comfortable. He was efficient and professional. Also, Nick was very kind and helpful as well.
go to a different location tbh. they are rude and uptight. if you are new and know nothing about it they act like you're mentally handicapped and dont even give you all the info cuz they are talking down to you. don't go here if you have anxiety or self esteem issues
Everybody working there is friendly and kind and patient. The lines move quickly. The facility is very clean.
All the employees are nice. Get in and get out fast. And it's a professional business that they withhold, every time I go in there.
They have wonderful people that work here. Nurses are so sweet and so nurturing. The workers are also very kind and helpful. Also, Very cool Halloween decor as well by the way. Makes my visit a little more enjoyable.
Everyone is nice and professional. The facilities are clean. The music is usually good. Wifi is fast. The only thing I would like to see happen would be for the app to have all the results from your finger poke and what they mean.
The wait to be seen by the first person was entirely too long. There were at least 25 people in line ahead of me and only two people checking in. My time is valuable and more staff should have been working or fewer donors should have been allowed to schedule appointments. It should not take close to 45 minutes to get to the first person.
This morning was the busiest I've seen it. I arrived 10 minutes early and it took over 30 minutes to get processed. For too long only one employee processing and she was training someone as well. When I finished there were 5 out front. Thank you.
I give this place 5 stars, there is rarely a wait, its a clean environment and the staff are top notch.
Nice people, nice place. No pressure and felt comfortable being there. And it feels good to help in this way.
I appreciate EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER that I have had here. It doesn't matter if it's slow, or SWAMPED, the staff are always friendly. They have built a strong, cohesive, familial team and it shows. The culture here is definitely unmatched. Special shout out to Kate for always matching my energy, to Sarah, for somehow ALWAYS poking me, to Ashley for the sloth sticker and to Dom for always joking around with me.
Professional, knowledgeable, efficient. And the facility was very clean. Much better experience than I imagined it would be.
Recently I've been experiencing way longer wait times and being understaffed. I heard the person in charge of overbooking appointment time slots is the district manager. He or she floods the appointment time slots available and this is why donors wait in long lines. Loyal donors shouldn't have to wait so long.
Staff is friendly and helpful. The one thing I think needs to be changed is the lack of additional compensation for using both arms on occasion. It doesn't happen very often but when does a 25.00 coupon would be cool.
Had to wait around 30 minutes for a nurse just for them to order a protein lab. I should have been forewarned and late for another appointment I had to go to afterwards. After waiting 30 minutes to see the nurse for one minute, everything else was great. The techs were nice and did a good job. It's just that surprise 30 minute wait that increased my blood pressure.
Extremely long wait to be processed and outdated system. Finished EQ questions and then waited in a 40 minute line then was told to go wait in another line for the nurse and do EQ again because I didn't do them. I ended up leaving because I needed to be somewhere in an hour and couldn't wait the almost 2 hours the appointment would've taken at the slow pace the staff was going. Don't go here if you have any sort of plans for the day it is TOO SLOW.
Overall great place. Some of the people are kind of short/rude but most are fine and very helpful. Story helped me out today and she was awesome! She actually had a conversation with me unlike some other people here. To me, she did her job very well and efficiently. She made my experience the best so far!
The staff make the process of sharing life saving fluid easy and pain free. They are fast and efficient in how they run the center. Kindness and courtesy seem high priority for everyone I've interacted with at the Grandville BioLife
I am giving 3-stars because my experience since being back at Biolife after a few years hiatus has been mediocre at best. The East Paris location is my favorite to go to versus the Grandville location. I can get in and out far more quickly at East Paris and the staff is much more friendly and engaging. There are a few Grandville staff that are friendly but most don't even smile at you. A lot of them talk to each other while processing your vitals and don't work more quickly and efficiently when there are lo
Gave a 5-star review 2 years ago. In the following two years I've learned it can be *very* hit or miss depending on who your tech is. Had one of the worst experiences ever on my 200th visit today... it will probably be my last. Proceed with caution.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Donating my first time, I was very nervous about it and Nick went above and beyond explaining the process and making sure I was comfortable. He answered all my questions and was just awesome. All the staff was very friendly and happy that I was here. I will definitely be visiting this location regularly ??
The staff here is terrific I just wanted to thank Emma for her kindness and professionalism Thanks to everyone for all you do!!
First time coming and the experience is being drawn out by an medical emergency. I understand they happen, but to pull all your nurses away without leaving one to examine donors is a little frustrating. Considering there are multiple and their focus is on one person only.
The staff in Grandville is always very friendly and very efficient. It's entertaining to hear them interact with each other and those who come in to donate. I have very small veins, so it can be a hit or miss if they can get it, but for the most part, they do their part and check up on you and make sure you are comfortable. If you are not comfortable, they are by you very quickly to fix the problem. It can get very busy at times, but from waiting up front to getting seated in your area, it moves fairly quic
Went to grandville this morning for my donation and the girl up front hardly put any blood in the tube maybe half way and I wasn't even able to donate due to a number being off.
Bella's venipuncture was painlessly precise and resulted in a quick, seamless donation. I have a difficult vein to obtain a quality stick on, so her skills shine through. The potato sticker she gave me was really appreciated! Thank you, spuddy buddy! Taylor was on top of things and disconnected me in a flash! Are you sure he isn't related to the comic book hero? Let's not forget the donor screening team up front. They always stay on top of things, expediting us through quickly and friendly! :)
All of the employees that helped me were very kind and efficient!
Waited for almost an hour just to be told they told me to stand in the wrong line. Should have been a quick protein test. After an hour, just left, never had the test. They do not respect donors time.
Today I went to donate and I sat in the chair as usual and the girl helping did the normal procedure of placing the needle. The machine started malfunctioning immediately and she asked her coworker what it meant being in the negative. Her coworker was unsure as well and swiftly left ..I'm assuming to find out an answer. In the meantime the machine continued to glitch and go negative as she explained she had never experienced this before where it's starts in the negative. The male coworker to the right with
Everyone is very friendly. They explain things well and make it as quick as possible.
I came here for my first time today and drove one hour from Kalamazoo and spent at least an hour going through assessments and protocol until I found out because I was Diagnosed with PTSD almost 7 years ago from a bad break up, that I can't donate today and I have to have my doctor fill out and sign a form and then come all the way back a different day to do it. Nowhere on the website does a disclaimer for people who don't live in Grand Rapids ? Depending on your diagnoses, you may be asked to donate a diff
I had someone that didn't know what they were doing and ended up putting the needle in wrong and then moving it all over to the point it was bleeding internally so bad I ended up loosing a couple days of work because I couldn't lift.
Had a negative reaction to my first donation but the nurse and techs were very attentive and got me back to normal within a half hour. All the techs kept the atmosphere light and friendly and made it as little anxiety rising as possible.
The nurses/staff here are so sweet and kind! As a new donor (nervous too), I felt cared for and they explained everything clearly and answered all my questions :)
I really appreciate the staff at biolife but especially Lily. M, she is always so sweet, makes me feel so comfortable especially since I get nervous about donating at times, and she gets my poke on the first try every time. She is very good at her job and really seems to care and always has a smile on her face. I appreciate her.
Donating Plasma may seem invasion, but it's not. The people at Biolife are beyond kind. The entire process is quick and easy. Painless. I have donated several times now and have been happy with my experiences so far.
It is clean and efficient, and the staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. They explain everything thoroughly every time that I come in, and always ask me if I have any questions or concerns. They are careful with the IV equipment and insertion into my arm and also removal, and are always with gloves and masks or plastic face shields to make me feel comfortable and safe. Highly recommend!
Employee's are very kind and helpful. Very clean and socially distance marked for extra safety. It's a Great way to help save lives and get a little cash
Everyone is so nice. Have went 3 times now and only this last visit my arm bruised and is really sore at the needle spot. Shared a photo of spot, just the day after visit.
Not impressed with this place lately. The way they have the questionnaire set up is very frustrating. I also feel like they are ripping people off with how much they pay out. my plasma is worth more than $95 for two appointments. They also have constant problems and issues with their machines and computers. It's just really annoying
All staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming! I had the privilege of being taken care of by Leann. She was positive, funny and felt like a friend! I ended up having a reaction, but Leann and a couple of her coworkers responded quickly and made sure I was feeling better in no time! Thank you for a positive experience :)
Staff here is great! I visited one in another state while on vacation and it could not even compare to the Grandville location. Even if this was not the closest location to me, I would continue to make this my home center.
I have been coming here since 2017. The staff has been nothing but extremely helpful knowledgeable and great. I can't think of anywhere else to go. Just have to remember to have a little patience. They get busy and they work hard as they can.
Friendly staff, clean center, efficient at getting donors in and out!
I go to the Grandville center. The staff there are very helpful and friendly. Today Story did my poke and I didn't even feel it. She is so bubbly and friendly. I really enjoy having her do my pokes.
Lots of great staff. I love it when I get sat in Story?s section. She is personable and is fun to talk to. Dom is a great poker. Darlene always has a smile when I walk in the door.
As a newer donor it has been a great experience. Couple noteworthy folks Gavin, Dom and Story have been really good to me and I really have appreciated their help. Overall all the folks have been terrific. Highly recommend going and donating plasm at this location.
The Grandville clinic is always the best. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and efficient. I am usually out of there in less than an hour and actually it is the most relaxing time of my day!
I have recently started here. Even when busy, the staff is professional. The facility is clean, and the app for donations is solid. Story, the phlebotomist i had today, was engaging and friendly.
Give plasma would be ok, if they did a proper job in drawing your plasma, the times I went I had people fish for my veins, get to close to my muscle in my arm. Blow my arms, it would take me two days to recuperate And very tired. When they blew my arms out it would take a long time to heal.
I have had great experiences with Bio Life. Your staff in Grandville are awesome... they're very nice to all donors. They talk you through any beepers that may pop up during your session.
The staff here is great! Everyone?s made the donation process simple and (almost) pain free. There's been a couple times where there's been a bit of a wait to check in and to donate, but I do notice the staff communicating and working together. Keep up the great work, everyone.
This is a great place to donate plasma. They try to fit you in earlier if you arrive before your appointment and usually it isn't a long wait. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete all my new donor donations due to pulse/blood pressure issues but at least I know I need to work on that for my own health. Taylor was great..he was super friendly and was able to poke me without any bruising. I would recommend to others!
I'm a four month donor and like making the extra cash along with helping others. The wait times ebb and flow with each visit so it's really not been a problem for me. It's crazy busy on Tuesdays but slow on Fridays so it kind of evens out. Staff is super friendly!!! Great people!!! I just want to say that although I don't really mind waiting this past weeks wait time we're unusually long. Four techs working and only half the sections open. Every business is short staffed right now and the $1,100.00 promoti
This place hands down runs like a well oiled machine!! They have some of the greatest humans working there. Story runs that floor like a true boss! Always a pleasant experience with great conversations!!
Story provided excellent customer service. I am a first time donor and she made me feel at ease. Manistee is also a superb multitasker who can handle both difficult donors as well as challenging IT problems.
I could almost write two reviews, one with absolutely glowing feedback of how awesome Brianna, Cassidy, Leanne, Danielle, Ashley, Grace, and some others are. They are kind, considerate, responsive, detail-oriented, professional, efficient, and yet personable. A very hard thing to pull off. Then write a less positive review of some of the other people that work there that are snappy, rude, and condescending, and treat you like cattle to get in and out so they can collect a check. Now to be fair, I've
I've been coming here for a few months now. Everyone is always very friendly and usually upbeat. They do their best to get you in and out in a timely manner. Shout out to Taylor and Derek, who are always so kind and pleasant. All of the phlebotomists are great!!
Emails saying you'll make $135 for 2 visits but I was paid $115, I think it's well worth the$135.
They are so fast and efficient at this place. The friendliest staff too! Leann helped me today and as usual was very sweet, and even gave me a great recommendation for a hairstylist!
It was clean and they were pretty welcoming. Unfortunately, that's all the good I can say about it. We were new donors and it was a terrible experience. We waited 5 minutes in line before being told we couldn't donate at 8am until we eat. Then we sat in line again for an hour waiting to be brought up to fill out information. Half the information we waited to fill out could have been pulled from online. They required several documents, which again we could have uploaded online. Finally, we got in and went th
Come here if you are struggling and want to be taken advantage of. disgusting business model
BioLife as a company seems to be going thru some changes as I've noticed a number of longer time employees are gone now. It also seems a bit under staffed, but the employees that are there are working hard and do a great job. I appreciate being able to donate there.
They blocked me from making and appointment so I can get my return donor money for $750 I only received half. They red flaged me for no reason. It's sad ppl treat you that way and all u trying to do is save someone's life. I thought that was the point of doing this wow soo sad for them. I will never donate again disappointed with you guys
I have had a pleasant experience donating at biolife so far. However, the wait time has gotten very long. Today I started my donation 45 minutes after my scheduled time. They could use more people at the donor screening stations.
I went today for my first plasma donation and had a stress free trip. The staff was super friendly and explained everything along the way and the whole process. The procedure itself was a lot like giving blood was pain free and easy. Would recommend checking them out if you are wanting to try.
95% of the time, it's a pleasant experience and I love donating here, but you can always tell when you're going to get a hematoma and deferred for 2 weeks because of nervous, unconfident, staff. If a team member genuinely needs more training because he's nervous, always needs a manager's help resetting needles, consistently sends people home early because he pokes them wrong, and hands out hematomas like he's getting paid for it, give him more training or cut him loose. Don't do nothing with such a serious
This was my first time here. It was an amazing experience! Story checked my veins. Emma did a great job getting me undone. Story made sure my first donation went good.
I went to donate on Sunday and a white shorter lady with blue eyes poked the needle too far up my arm and had to keep adjusting it. My arm ended up bleeding randomly and she advised me to keep pumping because I'm almost done and walked away. Then another nurse came and took the needle out advising me it was creating a bruise and switched it to my other arm. I couldn't finish the process because I was having too many side effects. The original lady took a long time to notice I was dripping blood all over my
I transferred to this location because it was a bit closer to my house, I'm glad I did. The staff here are super friendly and always seems to be about 95% smiles and upbeat attitudes which always makes the experience that much better. Even if a couple people are not a "morning person" they still are completely professional. Over 100 donations and I still have yet had a bad experience.
I love this location. Everyone is so nice, accommodating, and very professional. I've been coming here 10 years, and will do another decade if my body allows. First review I've ever written, and it's justified; Gina at biolife wrassled one of my most difficult veins with ease. I was so impressed I had to share! Again, love this place!
A great place to sell your plasma. Great people work here and it goes smoothly, especially with the app. I have to update a year later. They are running a promotion and it's utter chaos. They have an app and a scheduling program, so there's absolutely no reason a person should be waiting an hour even to get in. They really need to do a better job matching the schedule to their ability to get patients in and out. To be clear, if they fix the problem I'll certainly update my review. The people here are
This location is severely understaffed and it shows. I donated only two times, and after the second time I was done. The first donation went very smoothly, however, some of the staff were blatantly rude and dismissive when I tried to ask questions. The second time, a trainee was assigned to me and she could not get the needle in the vein to save her life. Her supervisor came over and got it going, but the vein was damaged already and I couldn't complete the donation. Afterwards they tried to only give me pa
I donated 6 years ago and recently started again. The Grandville facility is wonderful. They are fast, efficient, kind and welcoming. The staff is friendly and personable and I feel comfortable through the whole process from check-in to bandage. Great team.
Leann, Mani, Nicole, Valarie caroline. Those ladies made my first time "smooth like butter". Seriously I can't thank them enough for making this experience comfortable and making sure I knew what was going on and checking in on me. Definitely helps me feel safe to come back. Thank you so much!
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this location. Went there as a first timer, went through the screening, and sat down in my chair. As I was waiting for the phlebotomist, the gentlemen in front of me said he didn't feel well. That made me feel uneasy, but I understood that could happen. In order the not make myself nervous, I put the book I brought closer to my face and apparently was bouncing a leg. I was then promptly taken off of the floor by an employee and told I was too anxious and would not
Very nice people that work there. Timely. Don't have to wait around
Great way to make extra cash! The app is so helpful. If you hate needles stay away, but the pain is little to none at the poke. Then you almost forget the needles in there. I think it does temporarily decrease my energy but not substantially. It can take a long time on certain days of the week and certain times. The employees are so kind and Ive gotten to know one who I always look forward to seeing. Shout out Gavin. They should give you something on the app that estimates how busy it will be depending on t
I have been donating at this location for about two years. Staff are very professional and love to get to know the people coming in! Their child care is awesome and I miss it because of COVID-19. They do a great job watching my daughter while I am donating. Only negative experience I have really had is when they have had to re poke my arm, there were a couple of times that it seems like the technician needed a little more experience with that but they had to get it from somewhere it just happened to be me.
Had a rollercoaster of an experience! 8 years ago was my initial sit down, could not donate right then there due to a recent tattoo. Finally got to donate today after having troubles yesterday with nurse Tina, come to find out she's had several complaints from other customers (after my visit) and turned me down for the smallest thing possible because she thought I was too anxious when really I was rubbing my hands because I was cold in the building, I was sleep deprived, taking my hat on and off to get read
donation went well staff are great. wate times are back down, I believe it's due to the LOW compression and or the fact that some like me are getting $95/week some friends are $105. It was $120 for the last year ?. The new points thing is a joke, sometimes working but confusing without mutch insensitive.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
