No complaints here. Scheduling appointments has become easier i believe. Staff is great. They do a great job waking me up if I tend to doze during the appointment. They gratefully accept my lame gifts I make for them????
One person at check in is unreal. Always.. especially lately with the longest lines wrapped around the back. What should take an 1.5hrs at most has been taking 3hrs. Up your promotions at least make it worth our while we wait. Also the bathrooms are disgusting ?? and smell foul. Out of order. Toilet paper dispenser broken so who knows if the roll fell on the floor. Wild. Gave a 2 cause the staff is nice. Update: This is what the bathroom looked like at my most recent visit. No soap in the dispenser, blood
I've becoming here for years. The staff is great the facility is clean and organized. However, they've recently changed their scheduling system and they are taking more reservations than they have staff or beds to accommodate for. So what normal takes an hour or a little more will not take a minimum of 2 hours. I hate to leave a bad review but I'm just trying to get the problem noticed. The staff all seem annoyed with this change too. Apparently this is the work of a new CEO with no care or concern for staf
This was and hopefully will continue to be the best experience in a bio clinic I've ever had. I'm looking forward to more of the same. And don't compare what I said to the picture. Had a long morning lol.
I'm really impressed with everything, here. There are some very kind and compassionate workers, here. I've done 2 appointments so far and it's been very smooth. Very clean and organized and everyone has explained things extremely well. I definitely would recommend going here for anyone new. Do all the recommendations, like staying hydrated and eating proper nutrition 2-3 hrs before. I asked chatGPT what i should eat as a veggie/vegan eater and I figured out an easy meal for beforehand. Quick oats, an
The employees are nice. But the waiting time is ridiculous. My appointment will be at 8:15 now its 10:15 and still standing there waiting for a bed. Thats the only down side of this location the location on maryland parkway employees are fast. My appt will be 11:00 and be out 12:15 and The bathroom are always horrible to ?? And the payment is not always right the pass donation I've made i only been getting 45.00 i think this will definitely be my last time
Staff is nice, I get paid 20 more vs some plasma places. usually after 3pm there is a 10 - 30 min line to get your vitals checked. You have to make an appointment to donate. If I'm 5 min late I miss the app. But I can reschedule 5 mins later if there's an available spot. You can keep rescheduling the same day if you kept missing your app. I think the machines are quick, i took 26 min one time.
A nice and clean facility. Micah is very friendly and professional. Every time I sit in her section, I feel comfortable because I know she will take great care of me.
Well you guys don't seem to care at all about the people that donate what so ever. If we're a minute pass on the time for the donation we're not allowed to donate, but then I can go in on any given day and spend either only an hour and a half or three hours. You're kidding right? You don't care about our time at all and yet you expect us to have such varying times to get in and out. Additionally you have some of the rudest staff members possible st the front that do the check ins for vitals. The large lady
This place used to run pretty smoothly. Over the last 2-3 months though it has completely gone downhill. After working 10 hour days, I come in, answer my questionnaire and wait in the screening line for 30-40 minutes. Then another 30 minutes in line for a bed. By the time I am actually hooked to the machine, it is about 1hour to 1 15 minutes
I always enjoy coming here to this biolife center. It's easy to set up an appointment online and come and donate. It takes about 40 minutes up to two hours (in my experience). The staff are always friendly and they play some good music. I feel safe and calm here! Thank you for all that you do!
Saturday 4-24-25 was my first visit to a Biolife Plasma center. My experience was great until it was time to get connected to the machine. The young man they had set me up couldn't find my vain, a more experienced guy came and reposition the needle in my arm. Some times went by the machine started sounding with indications. The older gentleman came back over and switched the needle to my left arm finishing the process. Now I'm home with a badly bruised and swollen right arm. I will never in life again visit
BioLife has always been a great experience! The facility is clean, and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming?even at 6 AM. The donation process is quick, easy, and efficient. Every visit has been smooth, and the team consistently provides excellent service. Highly recommend!
BioLife needs to limit the amount of appointments given out for each slot, make sure you have enough staff and open all the sections. It took over 2.5 hours, that is ridiculous, you need to do better. This is not a reflection on the staff who work there, they are doing their best. This responsibility falls directly on corporate who are not giving the staff the support they need.
Been going here twice a week for a year now. Staff is always super nice and usually very little wait in line. Only complaint I have is the restrooms are really disgusting. One of the bathrooms, the toilet paper dispenser was ripped from the wall no where to be seen and no toilet paper. I am thankful I saw this before I did my business! Please fix your restrooms for your donors!!! Edit : They are over scheduling and now the last 4 times I have been here the line is extremely long usually and hour wait to ge
Booked an appointment with BioLife at 9:15. Had another appointment at noon. I had to get disconnected early and still was 15 mins late to my later appt (a no show would?ve cost me $250) Meaning I was there for THREE HOURS on a Wednesday morning, I couldn't call or anything because my phone was dead because again, 3 hours. Either they need more staff or a better system put in place. Told them I had to go multiple times and they would not disconnect me, so I sat up. I did not want to be there anymore and fel
My first and last time coming to BioLife. Both bathrooms were filthy They take forever to call back App is outdated and doesn't update info on when you have received payment I had a sharp pain in my arm and somehow tasted saline even though the machine wasn't done taking my plasma and there was no one around that I could get their attention. Either I'm crazy or there was an error on their part regarding who should or shouldn't donate due to dehydration and low sugar levels I felt much safer at Csl plasma
Been here many times, 3 times got with the same person, new person who don't know what she doing, on third time with same was, she poke my twice and still mess up. Have to call manager to give them feedback that person is not ready to be on her own. I hope manager take feedback seriously.
It is very fustrating for returning donors to have to wait in one line and then another bed wait line. If you turn up the appointments at least have all sections open and have enough staff up front to do the vitals. Many donors are upset and may not dnate because it is taking twice as long as in the past. Fix the problem.
Practice sticking before you do it on people. The person who inserted the needle in me seemed inexperienced. It was my first time and I didn't know what to expect so when it continued to hurt throughout the plasma withdrawal, I thought that was normal. Turns out the people just didn't know what they were doing. They kept me there after for about 30 minutes after just to do nothing and let me go. Two stars because they were decently nice. Other than that, would not return.
Waste of time to go here. Donate at CSL, they are honest about your levels when they do your intake, but unfortunately don't do appointments. I honestly forgot it was the reason I stopped donating here in the first place. It is impossible that every time I tried to donate, which is right before closing for them because of my work schedule, that I am exactly .1% too low on my hematocrit. I added supplements and ate all of the iron rich foods, had nothing but water and tried to drink at least a half a gallon
It's usually good at this location but it was pretty trashy today. Check in was also smooth and quick but now that my donation is complete I've been waiting around 15 minutes to have the needle removed. I get finishing up with other donors first, but they're starting the lines for donors that sat down after mine was done already.
This place is a joke!! I took 3 buses from Boulder City to the one on Green Valley Pkwy and went through the entire physical and when I finally got to the back to donate they said I couldn't donate because they could only find one good vein in my left arm and my right arm the veins were too small. I used to donate at CSL and they never took from right arm I always donated from left arm and they didn't turn me away because my veins were too small in one arm. I just wasted my entire day coming down here for a
All my visits have been great up until they hired a very rude and disrespectful employee by the name of Meagan. Management needs to coach her because she has been very rude and always has a negative attitude! Horrible customer service.
Actually I thought my plasma was already done at the end and it started beeping. I noticed the male nurse carrying on with an irrelevant conversation with another male patient; so I told him I think I'm done and he turns around with a sassy attitude and says it's only been a minute. I tell him I thought it was longer than that then he turns on the whole sassy attitude and he won't stop so I called for a manager and told her what's been going on over here. Then as I am trying to speak to her he keeps inte
One of, if not, the worst plasma centers in the whole city operationally. They pay the least, are always full, don't accept walk ins, the questionnaire is extended, convoluted, and ordered poorly. They're out of saline so they can only give a small Gatorade, and they do not give you a credit if you come in and get deferred for the day. The staff is hit or miss, some nice people but had a manager (the short brown woman with curly hair and a metal tooth) who just spoke condescendingly and disrespectful be
I have now donated over 10 times at the Henderson clinic. Everytime I am there I sit in a bed for at least 30 mins before I am acknowledged , while the phelbotimists stand around and the supervisors talk on their microphones. Same thing happens when I am done - it's usually 30 minutes after I am done before someone unhooks me. This last visit was particularly awful as Lais the supervisor spent more time talking on her microphone then screening me. I like helping others with plasma donation but am very tired
I want to start by saying that I have no problems with the actual people who work here. They all for the most part are amazing and great. Very overworked and I'm sure underpaid. I've been donating for close to 3 years now and it is a shame how BioLife keeps on lowering the payout. When I first signed up you got $1,000 as a incentive. Now it's only down to 800. Where once I was paid $115 in between my two weekly donations I've gone down to just $100. The lines are insane, no Saline due to the shortage. Once
FAST AND ORGANIZED! You set up an appointment and if you're 10 minutes late the appointment is canceled. It takes about an hour for the full process. Anywhere else I have donated can take two to three hours but never one hour.
Very professional and caring people. I don't like needles, but they're very gentle and Take their time. I like the music they play. Thank you Bio Life.
I'm a fan of this location over any other. But there is this phlebotomist that has blue and blonde hair, she's very kind and a good worker; but she does not insert needles correctly and jams it into the arms. Needle insertion should be gentle and smooth not straight jammed. Both me and my boyfriend had the same experience with her jamming the needles very, very quickly and hard into our arms causing hematomas & pain. I can understand her wanting to make the process of being poked quick but I am a phlebotomi
Do not go there! I recently went to donate 2 weeks ago. I was attended by a phlebotomist named Judy. She pinched me 5 times. My arm started inflating and swelling. Fortunately there was another phlebotomist close by who took the needle out and reconnected me using my other arm. I ended up with a hematoma in my left arm. I'm still unable to work. I was in constant pain. Even my tendon was compromised. The experience itself was traumatic. I lost money, time and my mental and physical health is compromised aft
I'm really not the type to make reviews about anything, but after my experience here this last week I feel like it is really necessary. To preface, I have already filed a complaint this week with the clinic about a previous incident that happened last week and I also sent a complaint to the BioLife Plasma company as well about what occurred today. Basically, today I go in for my appointment to donate. I got in relatively quick and was placed in a bed in a relatively decent time as well. The phlebotomist pr
I started coming to this place in dec to get out of the house. My mom had passed an I been miserable. I go 2 times a week an the staff although there not aware of my situation have been helpful in my grief. Lol never been a needle fan but it's not that bad.
The only problem I have with BioLife is, the last time I was in there , the girl who stuck me with the needle ,stuck me pretty hard, she did not put that needle in gently,??I was not happy at all, I don't know what was up with her that day but it didn't feel good at all, Other than that happening I have no other complaints but that area of my left arm was bruised and so sore for a week. I haven't been back since, I haven't decided if I am.
I love the physical. They are on point to explaining my health be it up or down. And whether I can stay or come again when my protein level or blood pressure is right. It's a privilege to make money donating plasma, helping others in need; only in America. I've traveled to places like Kenya, and opportunities like this to put money in your bank account benefiting to save lives is what makes me proud to be an American. Thank you BioLife Plasma Services.
Lack of information Those of you that over sixty five have to have a doctor's note, but it stated nowhere that you need one. second. There's no where it says you have to have something to eat. I made two trips there, and didn't I give one drop a plasma. I think they're using the same needles, because when I look the needle was already on the table.Make me think that someone has already used it. The doctor could not tell me when the machines were calibrated. I checked to see if they are in good working c
Idk where to start been donating between biolife(this location and Craig) and csl for the past three years. In those 3 years I've never seen a company fall into such shambles. Biolife used to pay you the best they still even gloat about it. But they don't as inflations gone up and their making more and more money all it's doing is lining their company?s pockets we have been getting paid less and less even though supposedly our plasma is ?so valuable?.(they make AT LEAST a $1000 a bag.) Some of their staff
Without BioLife Plasma, I don't know how I would make ends meet. Even if it's $40, it all adds up and bills can be paid. Staff is friendly and helpful. All they need is an hour or two of your time. Bring a blanket/Dress warm because it can get cold and make sure your devices are charged depending on the longevity of your donation.
There are DEFINTELY better times to go than others. It can be as quick as an hour or take over 2 hours, so plan accordingly. That being said, everyone there has been so kind, patient and knowledgably. The phlebotomists are amazing and do a great job. It is well cleaned after each patient and the facility in general is very tidy and clean.
Staff is always rude with an attitude very unwelcoming environment for a medical setting. They wanna pick and chose what rules to follow but yet can't have a working sink to wash your hands which is a violation in itself and not to mention how the bathrooms look disgusting smells of backed up sewage and trash everywhere. Then providing people powerade instead of saline I get there is a shortage but 2 months come on ghetto for Henderson this is a d disgusting medical facility I hope it gets shut down for
Very well satisfied with the services and everything that you guys have all providing and employees are really intended to the people that are coming in and I do appreciate that
In the past this location has been great. I did eight donations again to find the process taking longer with fewer workers. A cut back in staff? My last three visits I sat in the couch for 15 minutes before getting stuck. My last visit was the same wait to get stuck, but I had to wait 20 minutes to have the needle removed after I was completed. Part of the problem, to me, are workers chit chatting to much. One tech talks too much to the clients. Do your visiting after everyone is taken care of, I wouldn't m
I donate to help others, the employees at the henderson location are always professional, friendly and attenitive to each donor. Please donate if you havent yet, your plasma is needed.
First visit was great and quick and then it all went downhill after that one. They bruised my left arm up. They said I was good to use my right arm for future donations. Ok, so that's what I did until my last visit. Each time I went to donate they had to have a nurse check out the bruise on my left arm. They did I vein check on my right arm and said it's no good. I literally made three donations on that right arm prior. The nurse turned me away when I just made a donation on that same arm two days before!!
I had an excellent visit in February. Miss Ara is doing a wonderful job. Always professionnel.
This location has a kind and patient staff. I just got started and they answered all my questions and concerns. Additionally, the bedside manner during the actual plasma donation was very comforting and kind, Tyler really stood out to me as a great tech/nurse. Lastly my first payment was available in 30 minutes. I will continue donating here.
Hate donating, haven't done it in years. Biolife made the process quicker than I remember and most importantly, the phelbotomist stuck me as painless as ever. Donation went smoth and I was out in 5.5 cycles.
I can't speak for all the technicians but Mica was my tech and she was flawless. When it came to the initial iv insertion I didn't even know she had did it. She was thorough and straight to the point with key facts to know about the process for a first timer.
I tried to schedule time to donate blood here, but nobody ever answered the phone during business hours. I called half a dozen times before giving up. They let it ring 2-5 times then hang up without answering. What kind of a place does that? I'd feel safer at Vitalant, they answer the phone and get the job done.
1 nurse when I went in. had my finger pricked and waited for a hour just to find out I can't donate because of my anti seizure meds but the computer that askes you never stayed you can't if your on them an what are they testing for if they never said I can't
Amazing staff! They always seem to have a big crowd, but they get through it quickly and always with a smile.
The Front desk are very nice I will say. A+ for them. They are friendly & helpful but it's when you get to the back and the miserable Female techs are there. So unprofessional & don't greet anyone nor communicate. They act as if they are being inconvenienced & are slow. If you're going to work with the public & help actually be someone who likes to. Nicer area for plasma. And work on that self esteem. Service not the best at all. ??
I just wrote a very verbose review and it wore me out but I'd like to quickly shout out some amazing staff I've gotten to know (although the whole staff is awesome). So Kat, all Erica's, Erica M was the first to get my heart rate in range and equally awesome is Ara. She's patient and a miracle for my heart rate. Also, Itzell,Christina, both Micas but I've only had female Mica and she's awesome too. Tyler and Taryn and I will add more names but the nurses are also always the helpful and personable. You all a
Overbooked and understaffed. Up until 1-2 months ago, this place was great. You used to be able to get in and out in 1hr, maybe an hour and fifteen minutes. Now? Its' 1.5-2 hrs just to get in a bed. The other week I arrived on time for my appointment and there were 28 people ahead of me (15 waiting to get the finger stick and 13 waiting for a bed) with only 2 staff members doing check-in. Why even make an appointment? The staff is great, but now they seem stressed and over worked. I'm really not sure what h
I've been donating for a month now, and I've had uniformly good experiences. the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and explain the process, and I really like the fact that (1) I get to help people with my donation and (2) I get paid for my valuable time. It make such a difference to know that they actually value my contribution.
Professional Team, who care about your safety. Easy to donate. Easy to talk to everyone who works there.
They are mostly quick. I don't really like new people. Sometimes, they don't know how to poke people. You have to be careful. Recently, I had to not donate for 8 weeks because a new person couldn't get the needle inserted properly. Drink lots of fluids day before and day of!!!!!
Went there for two years and someone said something I said which I didn't guess my Trump hat upset this liberal and without even asking me I was kicked out if you go here been on your best behavior and make sure you only wear hello kitty gear so you don't piss anyone off They have no loyalty to long time customers they are truly a crap woke company STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!
Easily one of the biggest wastes of time I've had in a long time. I was there for almost 4 hours because of having to redo a physical or something. There's absolutely zero coordination whatever, had like people go ahead of me while I was waiting there first. Apparently it doesn't matter what time you scheduled your appointment for, whoever gets there whenever sees the Nurses whenever they feel like bringing you in the office. Yea, definitely never going back to this place, its a joke. I said screw it and le
I've been here a few times to donate, and every time I've had to wait in line for both the finger prick and needle part. But during these visits, I've noticed Justin, who's always there to help facilitate the lines and is super friendly to both his colleagues and us donors. He's attentive, respectful of our time, and communicates effectively with everyone in his area. During my latest visit, I was fortunate to be in his section where he was training a new coworker. His passion, knowledge, and approachable n
Place is clean, staff is friendly. It's always a pretty fast process when I go in.
Overall great experience. Takes a little too long but what do you expect. Would be nice if it was easier to cancel and reschedule on the app my work changed my schedule and it seems to limit my options even if I cancel an appointment.
I have been donating plasma for a few years now. When I started it was at a different center, until I got introduced to BioLife. I have been at BioLife for almost a year and a half now. This center is cleaner and more organized than what I was used to. The staff are professional, and courteous even when there's a rush of donors. Lately my veins haven't been working well. Constantly having to readjust the needle or lower setting?s but, this week (both days) I was in Justin?s area and zero beeps! I was in and
I had a great experience for my first time donating. The doctor who specializes in the physical and questionnaire for patients was absolutely amazing ! She helped the process feel alot more easier and I was very comfortable. Everyone was very professional.
My first 3 visits were fine. Great staff. However, my last visit I had a rookie poking me and she not only missed my vein in both arms, she broke a vein and caused a hematoma in my arm. So...now I can't donate for 2 months. She needs to be supervised while poking people until she gets better at it.
Nothing but positive experiences at this location. It's very clean and the staff is very attentive and they do their best to make you feel comfortable. Ask for Justin, he's the best! He is very thorough in explaining the donation process and he has a great bedside manner.
I am in great shape, never been in a hospital, never had surgery, my bloodwork is perfect, not good but perfect, but I am being required to get a physical because of my age. That should be age discrimination.
Extremely RACIST!! I'm a black male and been going there for over a year. Every time I go there the manager and other staff give me weird looks like I'm not supposed to be there. And if I use their public bathroom they treat me like I'm doing something wrong. I wouldn't suggest anyone donating there unless you're White or Asian.
I go twice a week to donate. I've never had issues here until recently. So I donated a couple of weeks ago and they did what they call a speed test which checks protien levels and all that good stuff. I come back the next week and they are doing the same test again, when I mention to the staff member that they had done it last week all she said was she wasn't sure what happened. So again I've donated like more times at this point. I went yesterday to donate and was told by the in duty nurse that the 2 test
It keeps getting worse. The staff is mostly kind but overworked and stressed and they are incredibly short-staffed. Also, they are consistently lowering the pay even though there is a critical shortage of plasma, now down to $95 a week. It's evil.
I want to like donating. But the lack of urgency and taking care of other donors that came in way after me is frustrating. Getting deferred for 5 minutes that turns into 25 because they forget you is extra frustrating. Pretty much need to always plan an extra hour more than you expect. Just makes planning regular donations with something to follow a bit frustrating. Then if you don't get your donation in you lose the incentive to get the bonus for a second donation in the same week. Meh. Just very dis
The donation cycle is normally smooth and quick. The staff are friendly and helpful. What I don't like is the "REWARDS" program that has been initiated by Takeda. Over the last 3 months, the compensation program has been ridiculously minimized week by week, from $140 down to the current $100. The REWARDS program offers a $5 reward for approximately 1 months' worth of donations. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!
I'm not the type of person that makes bad reviews but today I'm very frustrated about this place. The front at desk guy is so mean and not helpful at all. This is the biggest scam. It's is waste of time. Starting with the dishonest advertising, you never will make what you expected in the end of the month, they're always doing something for you not getting there. This happened with me twice. They always give me some excuses for me missed my last day to get my promotion. I'm so frustrated and mad because a j
I can't stand the damn people who work behind the counter here!! The last 3 times Ive come in they're all so damn rude and unhelpful. I dont understand why they hire and keel people with such bad attitudes who have no motivation to help people and do their job efficiently. There are plenty of other locations with way better staff. I'd stay far away from this one. And to top it off the staff is so damn slow checking vitals and checking people in!!
This review is for Justin! He is one of phlebotomist. He is the only one that in my experience constantly does a great job! He can find my veins right away and I never feel pain nor do I bruise ever! Always puts a smile on my face when he is on duty, when I am placed with someone else I will request him and I am willing to wait on him. He not only is just the best at his job but he is professional, easy going and very approachable. Thanks Justin!!
The money is easy but no longer great UNLESS you are brand new. Please prepared to wait nearly every visit. It doesn't matter if you an appointment. No one ever answers the telephones. They are usually understaffed and therefore the customer service is pretty bad. If you have lots of time to kill, prepare to give two hours or more every visit. The company no longer gives the coupons or promos they once did. I will say they do have nice employees, but it seems like they're not happy at all. They're tired an
It was pretty fast as a 1st time donor. The staff were friendly.
For the first month the money is worth the time and effort. I was getting stuck in both arms almost every visit for one reason or another. This left me black and blue and looking like an IV drug user. Most visits were 1 to 2 hours. The first month is about $80 - $90 a visit so I dealt with it. But, after that it drops to two visits a week $40 then $60 for a total of $100 a week verse what you were getting $160-180. No thank you, two sticks and two hours. Not worth it to me. I understand that many pe
This is the biggest scam ever. DO NOT DONATE. It's is an abuse and waste of time. Starting with the dishonest advertising, you never will make $800. Not only is only $600, but the first time you leave with $70, then the second time $80. It is pathetic. DO NOT DONATE. Stay home. You're welcome.
I had to fix my past review. I was upset about them not taking walk-ins but I am now a donor and appreciate their organized polices. Unlike, few other places which I will not name, everyone here is smiling and super nice. When they stick you you almost don't notice. The place is clean. The floor and the walls look nice and have a little color and does not look like a clinic. This is my only place to donate plasma in Henderson.
Excellent plasma donation office. Very professional and efficient. Nothing but good things to say about the Biolife on Sahara. Thank u everyone there today!
This will be a lengthy review. First day I went, everything was good, friendly staff, good nurses, and good technicians. Second day I went, things started out good, then at the end they got blood all over me when taking me off the machine. Third day I went back, everything was going well til, you guessed it, the end. The machine couldn't return my red blood cells because for what I think the needle came loose during my donation. On the third day, I got dizzy and almost past out. I give props to their nurse
They need to get saline back. Giving us Powerade that is filled with sugar and high fructose corn syrup is not a good look. At least give us the option to bring our own electrolytes.
I have been donating plasma here for almost a year now, and I have to say that everyone is really kind, professional, and caring! They work so well together as a team, work quickly especially in busy times, but still always have great bedside manners! Some of my favorite people there include Yasmeen, Kee, Itzel, Tyler, Justin, Micah, Mica, Vangie, Chris, Fernando, Manny, Clemente, Sierra, Kat, etc. and the list goes on and on! Everyone is so amazing and I really do look forward to donating every week with t
The staff are efficient. I first few times I went to donate plasma I was in within n hour. The last couple of times I have had to wait longer and done within 2 hours. But overall, I great clean and friendly center.
Just had another great experience at the green valley BioLife center. I was taken care of by a very sweet lady by the name of Ms. Debra. Everyone at this center is absolutely wonderful but she's my favorite. I look forward to my next visit.
Most of the staff are great, Justin, However, by far exceeds my expectations! He is attentive, constantly making sure that the donors and his coworkers are doing well. I always hope to be put into his section. Thank you Justin for making my donation time fabulous! You ROCK!!! ??
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
