Reviews Summary

Reviews show mixed experiences at this plasma donation center. Many praise friendly, attentive staff and clean facilities, but frequent complaints highlight long wait times, disorganization, and understaffing. Several donors report painful or botched needle insertions, inconsistent policies, and rude behavior from some employees. While some have smooth, efficient visits, others face excessive delays (often 2-4 hours vs. advertised 45 minutes), appointment mismanagement, and frustrating deferrals. The Holland location is notably slower than other centers, with staff often prioritizing socializing over donor care. First-time donors report thorough explanations but also occasional misinformation. Positive experiences emphasize kindness and professionalism, while negative ones cite inefficiency, poor training, and lack of urgency.

Where to start. So, I signed up for Biolife online and saw that there was a referral bonus opportunity, so I had my father sign up as well. We both showed up on our 1st appointment, which took 2 hours to get reviewed/approved to donate. At the end of the review, a "nurse" gives you a brief physical and asks questions. The nurse brought me back first and asked me how old my father was, and I told her. She then stated that he would need a doctor's letter stating he was able to donate at his age. Neither durin

bad experience almost every time I come here. Employees do not go in order, serving the people who got there after you even though you've been waiting for a very long time. I've only gone 4 times but every time I've had to get poked twice and the needle was dug so far into my arm and I wasn't even told what was going on until after wards they told me I was not able to donate.

The environment is pleasant and the line moves quickly to get clients checked in. The staff seems to care about the clientele that comes into their establishment to donate. I just love the atmosphere in the Holland center. Always friendly and even under pressure, the staff have a ready smile to share.

The Holland location simply doesn't have the right amount of employees, training, or a mix of both. I ended up taking near 2 hours from entrance to exit on 5/30/25. It was 50 minutes before I was even hooked up to the machine and donating. By comparison I have switched to the Grandville location where I was done in 55 minutes entrance to exit. I will no longer be going to the Holland location because all 6 experiences at the Holland location have been poor and I can't justify the time it takes when other ce

Everyone was super helpful. I was reading some bad reviews about this place, but that was only because first time donors were not prepped for a longer first time visit. If they check their emails, they would feel better prepared. I liked that there are very specific requirements to give, and they explain that very clearly to you. I felt bad because they were down a nurse and people were getting frustrated, but I enjoyed my time and compensation.

Wait time in the seat was 28 minutes and finishing up it took 15 minutes to get out there after donation was complete. Will never go back to the holland location. Seemed very disorganized and workers seemed more interested in each others personal life then the donors

It's not bad people or nice an friendly just wish they pay more does not seem worth it when arm hurts and all you get is 50

This past weekend they blew my veins out twice. There is nothing wrong with my veins or my water intake. It is tech training issues. I get my blood work done at Holland hospital lab,and they never have an issue with either arm. Also my first 2 donations went perfect, with the techs getting the vein in one try. You should not have to fish for veins, that is how you ruin them. If this happens again I will file a formal complaint. Also Sunday the 13th before I left the nurse says ( it is what it is?). Really y

The team in Holland Michigan are great. I've been donating plasma at BioLife for a while now and have always had a positive experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always makes me feel comfortable throughout the process. They are very attentive to my well-being and have always answered all my questions thoroughly. The donation center is clean and well-maintained. Time is money and they compensate well enough. I appreciate the opportunity to help others while also earning a little extra money.

The staff are so rude and slow. You can have great health and be in great shape and they will still tell you that your blood pressure is low just so they don't have to the rest. They are lazy! I got there at 10am yesterday and didn't get poked until after they took their lunch......at 12!! And whoever runs this bio life review section don't even bother replying to me. I didn't care about any follow ups with this company. -10 stars

February 4, 2025, I had an appointment. The guy who checked me in with his carabao pin was fantastic and very kind. The process there is horrible, though. They prick your finger and ask for information on yourself. You go to the kiosk where you answer their questions and then do your physical. In the physical room is another series of some of the same questions but in further details. They waited until the last of the questions to inform me...towards the end of the physical, they told me I wasn't able to

They always mess up my arm it hurts so bad I can. Barely lift it i won't be going back to holland again they are to in experienced there at that location!

Mishandled personal information, and understaffed with hour to two hour waits just to get into a chair, let alone disconnected. Misdiagnosed by their psuedo-nurse, told to make a dr appt to remove misdiagnosis. After their staff gave me the prep packet to go to the dr with, seeing my dr for an allergy test with the prep packet, and returning with the dr memo, biolife told me once the allergy diagnosis is on it may not be removed under any circumstance. Biolife staff attempted to reprimand me for having the

One of the workers Kara H was asked to check my machine cause it was beeping. She eagerly agreed and turned to see me and said na never mind and didn't help. Blatantly refused to help me due to personal reasons outside of work . Those alarms can be really scary for donors . We don't know what they mean. They could be alerting the staff of a danger. She risked my health and safety and was completely unprofessional!! For someone to do something so risky and still have a job there makes me fear for my safety a

Takes 2 hours everytime you go & the nurses are over worked and mean. I've wanted to donate more but the environment in uninviting i go to Grandville now. They have positive attitudes and appreciation for you.

Every time, it's slow, I wait, and wait and wait. Short staffed and over lack of motivation to get donations processed quickly. Efficiency is poor people are all over the place. Taking a long time to complete things and get people in/out. I just don't want to spend 2 hrs here. At the grandville location i can be out in 45 minutes

The workers are very attentive. They always make you feel very comfortable and make it easy to ask for help if there's any discomfort. They are all great and work hard. I look forward to donate.

So slow. No organization. Poke people out of order. One of the worst locations I have ever been to. Took an hour from my appointment time just to get poked and they didn't even have a line. Total joke.

The place in mesa was very organized and right on top of everything.. Very impressive. I normally donate out of holland michigan not very organized. They can learn from the book people in mesa.Arizona.

6/7/2025: Had a clot in my blood so I was told to sit down for 30 minutes. They gave me 2 Gatorade bottles and goldfish crackers. The problem is that I really detest Gatorade, so I didn't drink any of it (like last time I had a clot). It wasn't until I had 11 minutes left that a nurse called Ms. Sharon told me "if you don't drink these 2 Gatorades by time up, we'll ban you from donating here". I felt fine, I didn't feel any heart palpations, but she was adamant that I drink it. I eventually gave in, but I r

I would be happy to give more stars. But they would have to staff up at this location. Most of the staff is great, a couple of the staff in the donor area seem distant and so slow. Others are extremely efficient, I always hope I get them! Today, it is extremely understaffed. Appt time 9:30, it is now 9:55...still in line to be checked in, with 5 ahead of me. UPDATE That was a Tuesday. Saturday had an appt at 9:15 - there was hardly a wait at all. Got in and out within an hour.

I love the Holland center. Everyone is so nice and safety is the top priority. The Grandville center is good, too.

Finger scanners only work half the time. I have been donating for a year and a half and it still cannot read my fingerprint. Donation time was 6:00 AM. Finally got through at 6:40 got hooked up at 7 o'clock. The person upfront did not know how to work the system. It turns out the wrong person was logged in so she couldn't get into Scheduling. A lot of the staff just stand around chitchatting when there's a huge line of people and people needing help. I asked for additional compensation because this happens

Waste of time. First, told me unless i go to a local restaurant to eat first they wont even talk to me. Tried explaining i camt eat in morning without getting sick, they didn't care. So spent money i didn't have to eat. Came back. Told me because they cant find the vein in left arm, i couldn't donate. Nevermind the fact ive donated for YEARS at other places where i lived. They had a good vein in my right arm. But hey, who cares. They must get free gasoline so they assume its free for everyone else to

Everyone is super nice and tries their best to get donors in and out. My problem is with the app. They allow so many people to sign for the same time, that the line is usually 2 hours long then you sit in the chair 30-45 minutes just to be hooked up and then the donation time on top of that. I find it rediculous. I think when you select your donation location it should only allow the amount of people as what they have chairs to sign up and instead of every 15 minutes it should be 30-45 because that's how lo

Had to get poked in both arms and then I still wasn't able to finish because the blood clotted in the line while they were poking the other arm. Then I had to wait 30 and eat a snack and Gatorade because I had some blood loss. It is not worth $40.00

I've been there 3 times and everything was great and fast. Plenty of friends staff. My last visit I was there for 2 hours. Pretty upset that they sat 3 people down who were behind me in line for the donation bed. They were plugged in before me and the 3rd guy behind me was halfway done before I was even hooked up. I didn't throw a fit I just told the nurse, Christian, who was very nice and apologetic. She's my favorite. I'm giving 3 stars for the 3 people who were helped before me. Lol still a great place.

I started donating at the Holland location when they opened. In about a 4-5 month period, I was only able to donate about 7-8 times because one donation would go good and the next wouldn't and I would get deferred. I had surgery the end of September, so I couldn't donate for four months. Since I have been back and was told I have 'shallow, squiggly ' veins I make sure to tell them this and have had six successful donations in a row! My biggest complaints are with the wait times and staffing. Since we h

Awful. Every time I went into this location there was a problem. Appointment times mean absolutely nothing to any of the people there and you get stuck waiting in a bed FOREVER!!!?? Also, not to mention the employees like to try to make everything everyone else?s fault and not taking accountability for themselves. Oh, and staff your facility properly! People waste their valuable time for peanuts!! Terrible!!!!!!

The people are great they know what they're doing just sitting in the chair way too long before the process begins

Before I went in I read the reviews and it seems as if they have addressed their staffing issues. My first time and I was in and out in just over 2 hours. My appointment was for 10:30 and there weren't many donors there. However, around noon, more people started coming. But, the staff were able to keep the lines moving right along. All of the technicians and nurses were friendly and very informative. They all helped ease my anxiety about donating.

I drove a half hour to get to my appointment. They said that it would only take about two hours. It ended up taking more like four hours and I brought my daughter with me and when we got there, they proceeded to tell me that I couldn't have her in the building, even though it didn't say anything like that on the website. Matter of fact, it said that some centers even have like areas now granite she was too old to play in the plane area, but I don't understand why she couldn't been in the building. I was gon

My experience with BioLife has been excellent. The staff is always very kind and patient, and they've helped me with everything I've needed. The payments are quick, and I feel really comfortable with the entire experience. Tahani, Rachel, Claire, Liz and Sidney attended me and they are great! Very careful and caring!

Tonight was the worst for timing . My appt was at 445pm. I started my computer questions at 440pm and waited behind 17 ppl in the 2 lines. By the time I donated I finished at 7pm and not unhookedfor 20 minutes. Clearly too many appts booked at once! The staff looked over worked and stressed. Tracy and Stephanie are always a pleasure to see as well as a few others.

Wow, it's this place slow. I've went to all the locations in West Michigan multiple times, and this is my first time donating at this one. And it's the worst. Slow staff that are too busy yapping, and way to many people to process. This donation took 3 hours. I will say any other location that I go to can process people within 1 hour to one and a half hours . It might be just bad timing with the first time that I've been here, but after talking to other people in line and seen the other reviews, appare

I don't want to give one star because it's obvious that corporate is ruining the experience for everyone over in the Holland location. We can go to Walker and be in and out within one hour. Most of the time in Holland, it's an hour to get in the chair. And this isn't a reflection on the staff there. Sure, they could probably hustle a little faster?but what's the point when WHOEVER is in charge of Walker, holland and Grandville - it's pretty clear to see where you divert all of your time and resources. What?

Very clean place, staff is very friendly and very minimal wait time to donate. I felt at ease! Stephanie is VERY knowledgeable and was completely a joy to speak with while hooking me to the machine, and everyone I have came across there so far, has been more than accommodating

Quiet and small. Pretty clean from what I see. But very disorganized and slow

They let me go through filling out an hour and a half worth of forms then looked up my address and saw that it was the gateway mens mission downtown and said I couldn't donate cause its not a permanent address Seemed more like discrimination to me antthe small girl with straight brown hair was quite rude about it!

Was there today to donate and I was there almost 2 hours when it was not even busy. Normally when it is not busy I'm in and out in about a hour. Staff takes their time getting to you. I just feel like they could be a little more efficient at their job.

Mixed experiences. I would not be donating if the Holland location didn't start to open at 6am. When I donated at 9:30am or later on weekdays I would be in line an hour and the donating processes took 90 more minutes because staff was overloaded. By going in at 6:30am to 6:45am on weekdays I can be done by 8:15am. I don't like getting up that early to donate but it saves me at least a hour. The staff is always professional and friendly but they commonly lose track of who is next to be tapped or untappe

Folks are friendly and knowledgeable. Good systems are in place. However, wait times for vitals and a donation bed are too long. I spent 2.5 hours today at the Holland facility for a donation. Way, way too long. I can never get out in less than 1.5 hours. Unacceptable.

I normally go to the Grandville location but I decided to go somewhere closer to home. At Grandville I believe they have a grace period of either 10 or 15 mins. I get to the holland location 2 minutes late. No one was at the front desk or talked to me until a while later, I was told I couldn't donate because I was 12 mins late lol I was confused as to what difference 2 mins made? I asked to talk to a supervisor and she was condescending and rude saying I was 12 mins over my time. I said 2:35 plus 10 is 2:45

Not sure what the deal is but the wait time is ridiculous!! Not to mention you have to stand on your feet the entire time you are waiting ?? and I'm not sure why they don't have to change gloves every time they poke your finger but that's gross!! As far as the wait time it's just inexcusable that they make that many appointments at the same time!! Unfortunately once you get seated it's a 50/50 chance you're going to get a rude person who acts like you are the biggest inconvenience on the plant ??

I've given them a lot of time and grace to allow growth and this clinic is just a massive failure. They treat their donors like they're an inconvenience, they wrongfully defer people from all biolife clinics based off a power struggle. Little to no medical knowledge, and I ALWAYS spend at least 1.5 hours to 2 hours here regardless of how many donors there are. I wish I had anything nice to say but they have wronged me and so many others countless times. I will go to grandville from now on.

I loved how helpful and wonderful the staff has been for me. Suzanne the nurse was amazing with me. Christian is a living doll and such a sweetheart. This was my first time coming and with the care they give me I will be back. You are all awesome. keep it up. See yall soon. Kate

Just came in for a first time donation, staff was extremely helpful and did so with a smile on their faces even with the place packed. Booked an appointment online after checking availability around their other locations, made an account and just showed up to check in. Process is very straightforward and they explain all the steps in great detail. Be sure to eat well and stay hydrated prior. The place was quite busy and from talking to the staff it seems there's a lot more donors than the location originall

I am currently a new donor waiting 2.5 weeks for my labs to come back. They claim the shipment was sent back twice. It's only suppose to take up to 10 days. I've had to cancel the last 3 appointments. 2 of my appointments I couldn't donate because their equipment issues. They said I'd be paid anyways since it wasnt my fault, I was not paid anything at all. They need more staff because if you don't go in by 9 a.m you usually wait 2 hours. Staff walking out mid shift and arguing in front of patients also is

It was my first time donating plasma. First appointment took around 2.5 hours, as I had expected. I did not have to wait more than a few minutes between each step of the appointment. The staff were efficient and polite and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

Had a later scheduled appointment and had a break at work. I went to Holland BioLife and Tahani was able to fit me in early. Very kind of her and the rest of the staff is incredible even if sometimes understaffed.

This service here isn't the problem it's the lack of organization and attention to detail. Waited 90 minutes (which is fine I know that it just opened and they're busy) just to get my physical and when I got there they delete my entire questionnaire and all work I had for the past 2 hours up to that point. $25 for the next 2 visits doesn't do anything for the time that I waste having to go in again and do the exact same thing and hope that they do it correctly the next time. I'll change my review once I se

Holland location: Okay so. 1st if all to anyone wanting to donate: A. You MUST eat. Try healthier foods and be sure to have eaten protein. B. Ladies add some iron to your diet.C. Everyone HYDRATE. These are important so you have a successful donation. Lessons learned. 2nd the facility is clean and I like going there for this reason alone. I like being able to set an appointment. Sometimes it is as though they are overbooked given the available staff. And the timing on the donor's part is unfortunately part

Would have liked to give 5 stars but I couldn't. The people are great, the facility is clean and they are very good at what they do. The only reason for not giving 5 star review is they are consistently way understaffed and most of the time you are waiting for quite a while.

Wow. I never donated plasma before and always blood. Make the physical appointment as well as donation part. Everything was good to go?. Until she told me they can't put a needle through my tattoo because I could die. Never in my life have I heard this and being in military for 20 years and being a medic. Shocks me. Nurse Jane needs to reevaluate her knowledge on this matter and maybe some more training.

Long time donor from Grandville location and was so excited to see this location open. Nice and clean facility. Only issue is the lack of urgency and efficiency from every single staff member I've seen during my visits so far. The lines and waiting would improve drastically if they stopped moving so slow and worked with urgency. Alot of the staff did not seem confident in what they were doing which resulted in me not feeling confident in what they were doing. Please improve!

First visit went fine, long wait times but it's a new facility, they seemed short staffed. 2nd time took way longer and the lady that hooked me up dug around, alot w the needle. Ended up having to switch arms and dug around in that arm too. She needs more practice obviously. Wouldn't have minded, I'm a trooper and don't mind them practicing on me, I have pretty good viens, but when I went in for my 3rd visit I couldn't donate because the bruising was so bad, literally looked like she used the needle like a

Their promotion coupon for new donors is not cut and dry as it seems. BEWARE cause it's time sensitive and you can lose a lot of the promotion money if you don't pay attention. Cost me over $300 dollars in promotion money because it wasn't fully explained to me that it was time sensitive and was misleading on the app.

This place does not look sanitary ,the staff is rude along w management who I tried to speak about these matters.Management was very rude told me file a grievance online shrugged my concerns off

I am a long time donor that came from the Grandville Biolife and was so excited for the Holland location to open. After waiting a while for this location to work out the bugs I feel I have to leave this review to get someone?s attention. This facility is SO frustrating. Almost every single employee seems to only focus on one single task where at the Grandville facility everyone helps each other to get donors out the door faster. I almost lose my mind when I'm waiting to be unhooked and employees are sta

My husband got differed because one of the technicians spread false information claiming he had lice because he was itching his arms. He was working with FIBER GLASS EARLIER THAT DAY SO OF COURSE HE WOULD BE ITCHY HE DIDNT HAVE PROTECTIVE GEAR WHEN WORKING ON OUR HOUSE. Maybe before spreading false RUMORS ABOUT PEOPLE YOU SHOULD TALK TO THEM INSTEAD OF WRONGFULLY MAKING ACCUSATIONS LIKE THAT.

I agree with some of the other people sometimes the wait is long. but everyone is extremely friendly very conscientious about their job and they have always taken excellent care of me. And by the way, who isn't shortstaffed these days?

Such great staff at this location!! They are truly very caring and make sure you're well taken care of. Such friendly and kind people, love them for taking care of me when I was not feeling well.

It is really troubling when you stand in line to donate and they take and put the new donors in front of you after we have been there for 45 minutes waiting already. You could stream line your process a little better for new donors. They could do all the videos at the same time and all the nurse work at the same time instead of jumping back and forth

Rene and Tracy are awesome and really good at what they do! Hook up as close to pain free as possible every time. They both are always very nice and professional

I have never gone through so much rigamaroe in anything. Went through every hoop to get off the deferred list from having placenta previa with my sons pregnancy to cleared to having diagnosed PTSD & apparently you need clearance so I got deferred for that.. I had to reach out to different doctors multiple times just to get that cleared.. I have been here a total of like 5 hours just between seeing Dr & nurse, sample testing, vitals & vital retesting.. where my pulse was 101- literally 1 over & I got denied

Today was my first time at this location and I will likely never return. Everyone I encountered working was rude. No smile, no anything. Then I was sat and watched as multiple people who were sat after me got poked before me.

Had a 315pm appointment donation only. waited over 2 hrs to get to hooked up. Asked supervisor if they were offering anything for the long waits. They said no and that the regional head wouldnt allow them to limit appointments. It may be a drive but if recommend one of the Grand Rapids area centers. Update I reached out like they asked and never heard back its been over a week.

Christian does a great job. My only complaints are they are understaffed (like every other place) and what's the sense of having an appointment if I still gotta wait 15 minutes in line.

Absolutely a joke. Took my heart rate before I went in, was 88. Went in and they said it was 105 which means I could not donate. Sat in a chair for 20 minutes and then they said it was 121. Took my heart rate when I got to my truck, it was 92. This was my second donation time. This place is a joke.

I had a great donation for their Grand Opening!! Much closer than the Grandville location The front door greeter was super helpful and gave great info - very kind ?? Mandy did my finger poke. Super personable and quick - loves anything Disney so we had a nice conversation while going thru the routines Sam took my draw - so sweet and efficient! She is an Army reservist and was very helpful in keeping the draw relaxed and fun ??....got me in and out in no time!! I will be permanently changing my donation

I don't have no problem with y?all service. The only problem that y?all have is y?all need more workers to work the beds

One employee had trouble inserting my needle. Another employee took it out and placed it correctly in my other arm. The area was bruised. I noticed other donors she worked on had issues also.

No urgency! Compared to the other BUSIER biolife centers the workers here are not concerned with moving people out as fast as they can. Sittting and chatting A LOT while buzzers are goinf off and people are waiting. Tehana a my technician and she was efficient and friendly. The other workers however were more concerned with hanging out.

There's anywhere from 15 to 20 people working there on the floor and I've been in the chair ready to donate for a half hour and haven't been hooked up. I got here a half hour earlier than my scheduled appointment and have been here for 2 hours still not hooked up. Money is nice but the organization is awful

Came in for third donation. Had to see the nurse because of continued high heart rate. Went through check in process, was asked to wait either 5 or 10 minutes to recheck a high heart rate. I chose 10, then I sat there for 30 minutes watching people be checked in. I eventually just walked out. I was clearly forgotten about and just felt embarrassed and frustrated.

Incompetence on another level, the county and state need to shut this place down.

Every time I have gone in there it has been another issue from them losing my appointments to not testing protein levels in their lab. My experience has been extremely terrible if there was a negative star review it would be posted.

Everyone was helpful and friendly. The place is very clean and the workers were very knowledgeable

Very safe place help people health

After spending two hours in the new donor process, I was told I could not donate ever because I had heart bypass surgery 10 months ago. I checked the BioLife website before making an appointment. So not only was it a huge waste of my time - it wasted their time and resources, too. Hugely inefficient.

Most dysfunctional place I've ever experienced. Clear your whole schedule for the day if you come. They advertise 45 minutes then look at you funny when you say you got places to be after being here for 3 hours. ??

Everyone is friendly and professional. It is clean and I only had to wait a small amount in line. They slowed my donation down for better tolerance for me.

Staffing seems to be a issue. And with staffing issues comes annoyed Staff and you can feel the tension. As if donating isn't already a tense process, you have overwhelmed tense staff to deal with.

Staff is slow even slower on slow days. Other locations have faster friendlier service. There is friendly people here but I can sense the inexperience l

Nikki & Ally were so good to me! Ally was with another donor, Nikki got me set up, Ally took over & I was in & out! They're working all their kinks out & definitely improving as a new center!

My donation today January 31, 2024 went very well no issues. My donation time from check in to donation completion was 1 hour 10 minutes.

Very nice facility. Clean and staff are great.

Don't stick to appointment times, to many employers conversing with each other instead of paying attention to donors, what should take 40mins has taken 90 min pay more attention to detail
