Some staff are nice but most are rude. If they don't like you it sure seems like they intentionally make sticking you with the needle more painful and or have to be done more than once often by more than one person, this never happened until me and another guys machines clogged and took hours to finish and I guess the other guy yelled at them after I left, when I came back they gave me a talking to and accused me of yelling at staff...I do not yell at people unless they yell at me. They hurt my girlfriend t
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff Went on a Saturday at 12:30PM for context They told me it would take 2 hours, but got me out in 90 minutes! Strapped me up to the machine really fast with minimal pain, and got me out of it super fast once I was done They explained everything to me perfectly, made sure I knew what was happening at all times, and the money was in my account in 20 minutes Will be donating here for the foreseeable future
The staff is amazing and friendly. They are always asking/checking up on you to make the donation process easygoing and comfortable. The smiles are infectious and really great to see every time I donate. Great place to donate!!!
Ive been to this establishment a few times now and majority of staff is nice and efficient. My last visit ended poorly and i?ll probably never revisit here. The collection went easy then for my return the pressure rate was high and they assumed clogged filter. My vein started to blow and had a small bubble form but no one was around to help or check on me. Then when someone did find she would try to unclog the filter without checking my vein FIRST and caused my arm to get even bigger. They were more worrie
Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. The new donor process moved smoothly and quickly. The tech that did the actual collection was a trainee and did very well. The trainee and the trainer were very efficient.
3rd visit so far...2nd interaction with a specific staff member who is incredibly short, curt, rude and obviously not happy to have to deal with having a job. I've observed her interactions with a multitude of people, and it's the same each time. She moves at a snail's pace, gets annoyed if she has to speak, and just grunts, points, and mumbles. She doesn't inform you of your next step and seems perturbed when you don't automatically know what to do. Examples: Told me to "wait in that line over there". W
Incredibly mismanaged. They way overbook appointments on a regular basis. Why have appointment windows if you're going to overbook every day! Donating isn't worth it if you're spending 2+ hours at the center every time you go. Absolutely absurd.
Stupid doctor said I had. New tattoo and I didn't and wanted me to find pictures from before 2022 of my tattoos and I don't have any new tattoos and he keeps saying that but they are all the same as last time I came I hate this place wasted 2 hours and can't even get paid and he was so rude about it making no sense at all
I donated a few days ago, and tried to donate yesterday but since my protein was 5.9 instead of 6.0 they told me to come the next day to receive my promotion. I came today and they only paid me $45 again just like a few days ago when my online portal under ?promotions? says I'm supposed to receive $75 to equal out the $120 that I normally get total. I've tried calling over 10 times and can't get ahold of anyone when pressing option 1,2,3, or 4.
First of all, I do not recommend this place. They're rude mean and obnoxious.. They don't treat people with respect and dignity. My fianc? and I come up here cause we didn't have no food and they're giving him the runaround because the last time he donated a nurse got rude with him because he wanted her to take out the needle because he had been done for 30 minutes. he asked her and she got mad at him didn't have someone else to come and do it or nothing. Now he come back up here to donate cause we need foo
The facility is very nice and clean. The staff is friendly and got me through quickly. I had to have a bruise check which was also quick. The phlebotomist was wonderful and the donation went great until i was almost done and i started having a reaction, hot and sweaty, nausea and darkening vision. I've never had a reaction before but the response was immediate and well organized and had me feeling better almost immediately with the ice pack and getting saline. The reason was most likely dehydration, since
I wanted to give a shout out to Tajha (i believe that was her name) she got me hooked up in orange and was amazing!!! She is so sweet! I've been donating here about two ish years and have never had someone that kind! I hope I get her again!!
~Independence, MO location~ Everyone there is very nice & professional. I almost don't even feel my sticks. The app seems to have a lot of issues. *But my big complaint is the stinky blood pressure cuffs used at the bedside. As soon as I lay on the bed, I smell the cuff hanging by my head. Everytime. It's truly so bad. I smell the B.O. all through my donation & my arm/sleeve stinks after it's removed. PLEASE deep clean or replace them. Ty!
The process is pretty smooth and quick. Available days and times is always plentiful. Only issue is the size of the machine filters. After the donation portion complete, It takes an additional 45-75 minutes to complete the filtering and blood return process.
I've donated blood before but have never been treated like I was at this facility. Literally felt like a cow being corralled into a booth, and then interrogated about my medical history, only to be told I couldn't DONATE. I didn't need the money and truly just wanted to help those in need.
BioLife employees are professional, carry out their work safely, are courteous and personable. Hopefully they are paid well above average and are provided insurance. It would be the ethical way to operate.
1 year ago I talked about how much it had improved and 1 year later, I have to eat my words. The construction during working hours is obtrusive and the diminished staffing level is causing overcrowding and delays.
I felt completely supported by the staff despite it being super busy the day I came in. Everyone was patient and kind to me. Especially Brooke, she did my physical and by the end of it, I felt like were friends even
Everyone at the Independence location is very helpful and nice. We have been going for a long time and we have experienced no issues. They are polite, patient and kind. Would recommend that location any time!
The beginning took a little longer but once I got in and I started donating the staff were super helpful. Wonderful environment and very calming. They talk you through every step.
Absolute trash facility with garbage employees. At Independence you're waiting 45 minutes past your appointment just to see a doctor for two minutes. Then they make a typo so they reschedule you Then they keep you waiting for your appt and when you see a doctor 45 minutes after your appt time you tell them you have to go to work. So they reschedule you and say you'll be first the next morning. And yet you wait for thirty minutes anyway the following morning. Just to see a doctor for the physical. For two
It is becoming increasingly harder to go in and donate. There are times that after I am checked in and have done the inital screening I end up waiting 20 plus minutes in the plasma donation bed. Another annoying thing is that it is taking a lot longer to donate because some of the machines cannot handle your new capacity thrresholds. Because of this, you might take 45 minutes longer than previous donations.
i just came here for the first time today and it turned my entire day around. every single person was so sweet, funny, and all over caring from the moment i walked in the door. i was having a hard time coming in today because i am a new donor and have had some struggles getting adjusted. i have been to another location several times but they were closed today. i am so glad they were. this location deserves an award from biolife. thank you all so much.
Everyone is very friendly and professional. Pay is immediately on card whennI leave. It is easy to make appointments online.
Some of the women are kind and patient and others get a bad attitude if you ask questions or need help. Then they will talk about you within an earshot. Will not be going back to this location!
Overall I really enjoy this plans center bc u grey to make an appointment which is convenient. Also it's always clean. And the stag is always nice in friendly
Funny that people will give a low review for waiting too long. You are not a customer, you are getting paid for this. Longest I've waited is about 2.5 hours, usually is close to 2 hours but sometimes faster.. That's basically $20-$30 an hour at it's slowest to either be standing in line or sitting down looking at your phone. Staff is very nice and does their best.
Unfortunately this was one of the worse experiences I've had donating. I had to wait an addition 50 minutes on the chair due to disorganization. I also had issues with donation and I think it was the needle not being put in correctly the first time. I also started bleeding alot after I took the bandage off which I've never done before.
They helped me every step of the way and definitely made me feel comfortable
I came in here trying to donate so I could have the gas I needed to make it out to Overland Park Kansas for my job interview tomorrow and these people wanted to blame me for being upset with the pfabotomist lady that stuck me with the needle last time I was here back in November and tried saying that I had too much fatty tissue in my plasma and than they went back and forth from saying that I couldn't donate right now and that I had to wait for a whole nother week when it's been two months since I last dona
Jen was very kind and helped walk me through the whole process! It made my first time donating super easy!
After driving over 40 minutes for the nearest facility processing was difficult they requested a whole bunch of paperwork that had to be separate. The system that they used to renew security number I doubt it's accuracy. You couldn't even find one of my home of records then after that, I find all they need even though it's within minutes of my scheduled time, their system refused to allow me to do that same day and they requested that I come back in three days since for some reason it took me a minute to fi
But every time I try to change my appointment like today something won't let it happen so it looks like I just don't show up
Customer service is respectful and understanding. Wait time is awful during high peak hours...anywhere from 1 to 2 hours by the time you wait in line and sit down to donate. They do offer you a sensor disc while you wait in your car. Just don't leave the parking. Great staff.
I donated for the first time today. I was 3 minutes late but it was not an issue. There was a sign when I came in that told you what to do. After waiting a few minutes someone was able to check me in. After testing my blood, getting my fingerprint in the system, doing some questions on a computer, getting the physical by the doctor and getting seated to finish it off by waiting 10 minutes after my donation to make sure I felt okay and it took exactly 2 hours and 20 minutes. I interacted with about 4 staff m
I had a wonderful first experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The area was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend!
They advertise up to $750 but when you go they'll tell you it's only $450 a waste of time and a bunch of lies. First donation will be $50. You can literally go to CSL and get $100 first donation. It's ridiculous
During the holidays, wait times were VERY long, but this has improved a lot lately. I continue to donate here (which is a bit of a drive for me) because I can schedule appointments, staff are very professional (best needle-stickers around - important to me since I have had negative needle experiences in the past), and these days I can get in and out in just over an hour. I had a negative reaction to the anticoagulant once and the staff were very responsive, helped me through the issue, and I even got a foll
The staff is great. Very friendly. The only issue I have is that these plasma centers make an average of $5000 per bottle of plasma. The average donor makes about $125 a week. If they would at least pay $250 a week. Centers would still make a good profit and donors would feel well compensated. Also helps the economy. It's a win win for everyone.
The staff are amazing! Extremely nice and very timely! My new donor appointment was scheduled at noon and I was out at 2. Competitors have taken 3hrs+ in the past. Extremely satisfied!
Friendly staff. Sometimes the process from start to finish is very slow. Some days there is no waiting and I'm in and out. Other times there is a line for the vitals check and it moves slow. I love the new web app, it is more efficient and easy.
If everything goes as expected you can be in and out for a scheduled appointment. However when they have promotional periods there are lots of new donors who come in and can skip the line so it can cause longer wait times. Also if they are low on staff it can take quite a while before you can do the check in and then another wait for a bed to free up. I think they should make new donors schedule appointments as well so that they can at least expect how many people are coming in. If you are waiting in a lon
I will not be returning to BioLife in Independence anytime soon. Due to circumstances beyond my control I was 10 minutes late to my appointment after driving 45 minutes from my house. I stood at the counter for several minutes unsure what to do since this was my first time, I had to walk around and wait for somebody to make eye contact so I could ask them what to do. Someone told me to go sign in on the clipboard so I did. I then sat in the lobby for 20 more minutes and a lady came over and rudely questione
Their system is efficient and I always feel safe when donating at this location. I have been donating plasma on and off for over 20 years, mostly at this location and I enjoy how they run things and the staff.
I am satisfied with Bio Life Plasma Services! The technology and machinery works well! All of the staff members are skilled and qualified and all work well together! The compensation for time and travel is good! The revelation of the reward for helping those in need of life saving medicine is Great and Wonderful! Medicine : 1 the science and art of diagnosing, treating, curing, and preventing disease, relieving pain, and improving and preserving health. My testimony is thankful that I was able to come to kn
Great first experience! I went for the first time and everyone was super nice and helpful! Can't wait to come back!!
Overly packed, wait times are crazy, and they send you through all the screening as a first time donor just to tell you 2 hours later that you aren't a candidate because of the tattoos on your arms. Would have been nice to know that from the beginning so I didn't waste my time sitting there touching elbows with the people beside me.
I could never get her name because her name tag was always flipped but she is a worker! Multitasking several positions to keep everyone going. If they have employee of the month she deserve it!! I really enjoy going here.
I am so disappointed in this center. I've been to all the BioLife centers and this was by far the worst of them?.and I never even made it to go donate. I honored their request and made an appt. When I walked in Inwas shocked at the line ahead of me. There were 12 people in front of me with only 2-3 staffers doing the physical checks. There was no sitting accommodations for those who struggle with ambulation. I have bad knees and I was struggling to be able to stand for the hour I stood in line. Once I got
I have had a bad experience with these people and I don't want to Ever hear about them ever again. These people that work their and think they are doctors are very racist. I went three times there and the first time I donated but then the second and third time they wouldn't let me donate because they smelled my cologne and accused me of smelling like something they never told me what and I asked the lady in th front office what I smelled Like and she said that she couldn't smell because she is sick. How is
Excellent facility and staff. All personnel are extremely courteous and helpful truly a very professional group. Extremely well maintained facility. I feel very safe and comfortable donating on a regular basis. Compensation financially is a very competitive and fair amount in the industry with many incentive programs to participate in. Thank you one and all at BioLife !
The higher ups need to do better for the employees. The wait times being 2 and 3 hours due to low staff retention is unacceptable. Create a better work/ life balance for your employees and they might stick around longer. I used to come here to donate years ago and could always get in and out in about 1 hour. Now, having to stand in a line for hours is killing my back. I'm going to have to stop coming until management can get it together and fully staff the facility. Five stars for the employees. They
All the workers are very knowledgeable at their job and easy in and easy out the door. For the last couple of times they have been great.
If I could rate them 0 stars I would!! There is always a long wait time these workers don't care about anyone else time. They don't move fast AT ALL! They need to get trained in how to move faster all these workers and I'm still sitting waiting for 45 minutes to a hour! I would NEVER recommend no one to come donate here unless you got 6 hours out of your day to sit and wait at this center! Even the managers don't come out and help they just let their employees struggle. My appointment was at 12:15 it is now
First time and so rude to me. Sorry if I didn't know, not a good way to run a business. I was a new guest, the gentlemen was more nice to me on the phone. As a manager I have a tolerance for someone to be talking to me like. I treat people with all respect.
Don't fall for their bonuses. Amazingly every time I have ever been sent a bonus pay coupon, there is always some reason my lab work is off. For instance, the promotion I was sent was for 6 donations in a three week period. Haven't had bloodwork (proteins) out of the normal range, but suddenly my protein was low this morning. I drink a protein shake every day so my protein is never an issue. But to keep me from getting the bonus, amazingly, my protein was too low. The tech wouldn't tell me what the nu
I typically go to the Liberty location but this is closer to my house. I will say they the line moves slow and there is a long wait. Pay attention to the questionnaire because depending on what you answer, you're going to be sent back to the nurse to verify information. This would only slow down the process of donating blood. Also they seem to have limited staff because even when the monitor reads ?100?,it takes them a long time to unplug the machine. Overall,it was an okay experience but much prefer the Li
Very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful with the whole experience.
The staff is always great. Great attitudes and stay busy. The company needs to reevaluate their operations. Find a way to get more employees to stay. They are always understaffed. People waiting in hour lines just to get to a bed to donate. Incentivize new employees to start, support and reward the ones that stay, and be more transparent to your customers on actual wait times! I've suggested to a lot of the staff that you need a wait time estimator on the app like ERs have. That way people could decide if t
Save your time if you have autoimmune disorder, this place will refuse you and it is not listed on their site. Went here with someone and when I was refused, I tried to let the other person know so she wouldn't waste her time filling out the rest of the questions and was told not to by one of the people. They should be clear on what disqualifies a person, especially when they want to you to create an account and set an appointment.
This location is extremely poorly managed and I'm not sure if it is actually short staffed or their processes are just broken. Having donors stand in line for 2 1/2 hours before they even get a bed is ridiculous. I understand, trying to incentivize new donors to come back by putting them at the front of those lines, but you have to take care of your repeat donors so that they will want to return also. While I was in line today, there were 12 new donors put in front of me. My line to just get vitals taken di
The most frustrating part about donating at BioLife is they do not value your time. The expectation is that all donors arrive between five minutes before and five minutes after their appointment time. If you are late, you have to reschedule your appointment for another time. But....they will let you wait in line for 20, 30, or up to 40 minutes before they take your vitals. Once you've finished your donation, you can wait to be unhooked for 10-15 minutes. More often than not, by the time you leave, you've
Well... they send an email after every visit so I guess I should go ahead and share my review. First off I donate on Tuesday's and Thursday's after work. My appointment time is scheduled for 3:30 P.M. As of late I don't even make it past the vitals checkpoint without an hour passing by so now we are at 4:30 P.M. and the donation process hasn't even begun. Next another line I am sent to wait for an available bed to be available. The employee then cleans the bed with a rag and a bottle that has been used all
Because you are taking more Plasma and pay the same amount for it. and because of that the filters are clogging up and taking longer to return you blood back to you. Usually it would take me 1 1/2 hours and now it is taking up to 2 1/2 hours.
Horrible. They missed my vein and it was causing pain and they didn't recognize any issue until I had to wave someone down 5 minutes later. The phlebotomist was extremely apathetic and said they would just switch arms, and I didn't want to do that since they already messed up so bad the first time. I haven't been compensated for their debacle, either. Will never return.
I've been donating at Biolife for approximately 2 years. The staff here is always friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and well-maintained, making me feel comfortable during my visits. The donation process itself is efficient and streamlined,. I also appreciate the incentives and rewards program that BioLife offers, which adds an extra layer of motivation to continue donating.
This facility absolutely sucks. there's is no structure and you will be sitting for at least a hour or more just for a bed. They act like it's something quick it's not it takes up a good portion of your time. I have also had two blown veins by there employees. Just go to liberty this places is a joke
This center has zero communication, and will do they're blood tests early and without notification, so if you find yourself ineligible because of these tests then you're strapped in to wait a minimum of 3 weeks before you can even donate again. The clerks responsible for intake do not switch gloves after touching multiple customers' blood, touching anything on the ground, or their own face. Expect your wait times to be in the multiple hours. Donating at this center continually proves to be more of a chore t
I went to go donate and literally sat for 30 minutes with no one acknowledging me at all. I got up and walked out. I understand they are busy but at least acknowledge a person coming in. It was unprofessional and rude.
Great staff here but corporate office doesn't run these places well at all . Can't ever get in ..lose the appt system and whoever designed your app. I'll be heading to CSL or Somewhere else instead.
I really like the staff here. They are nice and they work hard. The issues that I have with this place is how it's set up and how the operation is running. There isn't any privacy when you're getting your vitals taken. They should really think about remodeling that area so that people can have some type of privacy. Also, I don't like how returning donors have to set up an appointment to donate. I understand the reason for new donors to have an appointment to donate. Their process is longer, so that makes se
It seems each time I come in there, there is a long wait (line) to be screened, then there is also an additional long line to get assigned a bed to donate. Furthermore, about 3 visits ago, I was being stuck and monitored by a newly hired, incompetent phlebotomist. The newly hired, incompetent phlebotomist inserted the needle into my arm incorrectly by inserting the needle too deep to allow blood flow. I advised this particular phlebotomist to slightly pull the needle out to resolve the issue, but they didn
Super nice staff, but seems like an inefficient work flow. The company favors new donors over returning donors, constantly over books, and there is no sense of urgency to get donors through the line. They tell you to expect about an hour wait, but you should really make time for 3-4 hours during the middle of the day. Makes me what to quit coming but I cannot afford to. And of course it won't change because the company knows poor people need money and will wait if they have to.
I used to drive 30 miles to donate here. The staff is great but they never have enough staff. Most days you can wait 2 hours or more just to get a bed. The final straw for me was showing up 6 minutes after my scheduled appointment to be told I couldn't donate because I was late, I had just driven 30 miles and due to an accident impeding traffic smh not going to jump through hoops for $40
Be aware they do not tell you about many conditions that lead to a permanent deferral. I wouldn't have wasted my time. Your website is misleading. You can not donate if you have any surgeries that require implants. I have a shunt, and my neck is fused. And I'm not allowed to donate. I van donate blood just not plasma.
Would give a zero if I could! Absolutely HORRIBLE wait times, I just waited over 30 minutes for vitals and didn't budge and inch. Canceled my appointment at this point. I would be there for another three hours. Seriously the company needs to read this locations reviews and actually do something about it, maybe take advice from other locations that are operating efficiently. I can't wait for the robo response.
It is fast and it is easy. It is nearly painless. I look at it like a part-time job and I love how easy it is.
Not happy with the last two donations. They cut my arm, an inch long incision in one visit, and then caused a hematoma on the second visit. Both when taking the needle out. They recently started using new needles; either they need to switch back it that need to give all the employees more extensive training? or else I will not be going back.
GET BIGGER BOWLS OR GET NEW MACHINES. CSL AN OCTA HAVE YOU GUYS BEAT BY 20-30 MIN FOR THE DONATION PROCCESS??????
The people are normally really nice. The wait however is ridiculous. I had a 6pm appointment today and did not get in the line in the building until after 6:30pm. At 7:35 I was told I was differed for 2 days for my temp. being 99.8 (99 6 is the highest they take), and they wouldn't retake it to see if the machine was wrong. I drove home and took it 15 minutes later (not eating or drinking anything) and it was 98.8. Like an extra minute in the center to recheck my temp. would have made a difference in e
Good staff always friendly. I was told recently that those with yellow cards are second doners and skip to the front of the line. Today at least 4 to 5 jumped ahead of the many waiting. With already long lines mostly this practice seems unfair to current doners that have an appointment as well. Please consider this practice unfit and jeopardizing current doners as much as it promotes new ones. Thank you
This was my first experience of donating plasma and I was told I had an appointment for today at 12:30 by the clinician, that did my physical and was confirmed by the manager as she provided me with a come back coupon on Thursday . I get there today just for them to say I don't see anything for that time. I find this very frustrating and an inconvenience. The wait time was long as well. They offered to reschedule later in the week, but I declined. Don't recommend going to this location.
They work hard and seem like great people at this center but staffing seems to be an issue. There are lines wrapped around the office I routinely don't get checked in and started donating until an hour+ after checking in. 1/3 of the center is always closed down. On top of that donating without a coupon just isn't worth the money or drive with the insane waits I've experienced.
I go to the independence location. I've been donating at this location for 5/6 years now. What used to be a simple, 2 hours max process for my fiance and I has now turned into a minimal 3-6 hour process. I have a 30 minute drive and I know people personally who drive all the way from Gardner, KS to donate, they shouldn't have to deal with this. It's an appointment based process so why are appointments being scheduled when there's already an hour wait just to stand in a line to start your questions. I walked
I donate here. A few days ago I overheard an employee turning away a Spanish speaking couple because they don't have any employees that are Spanish speaking. That made me feel the need to make this review because what if that was the only way they could make money to provide certain things, or the only center close to their residence. I find it inconvenient for BioLife to not make accommodations for Spanish people at this location. I didn't think that was fair on them.
The staff & all of the employees are so friendly!
I was going here but stopped going all together bc of the wait time. Being here 2-3 hours for $40 isn't worth my time. If I have an appointment, why would I have to wait that long b4 I get in a bed. B4 I stopped donating. I would set an appointment and walk in. If I saw the typical 20+ ppl in front of me, I would just cancel and walk out. Either they are over booking appointments or very understaffed either way it's a management problem. My usual time to go was about 7pm during the week after I just put in
I donated for roughly two months during a special and even during times where understaffing made the waits pretty long, I never experienced a rude employee. Even during a rush where you could see they were doing the best they could, they still made time to smile or have a small pleasant conversation. Special shoutout to Bonita and Maggie, both of them were always especially nice. Facility was also clean, easy to make appointments. It does take a long time to get set up so just be mindful of that.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
