I've gone twice so far, and it's been a great experience! My first appointment was long, but that's just how it's always going to be the first time. I was very impressed with the length of the second appointment - My appointment was at 10:30 on a Saturday, and I was out and sitting in my car at 11:30! Everyone has been very professional and nice. Payment has been prompt, and the debit card they give you and put your payments on is easy and simple to use. If they ask you who sent you, I'd love for you to say
I just started in April. The location is very clean and I have found 99% of the personal to be great. I am in my early 70s and they were very through with making sure I was able to donate. I gave for 3 years while in graduate school in my 40s. This is so much better now. I can go and get out in 75 to 90 minutes. The pay is really good too. This is going to help me financially and make it a bit easier every month. Glad, I chose this location.
Some staff are great, some are ok. The facility is clean. The payout after you donate takes about 30 minutes. On two occasions I was not a happy camper. One time last year, the person who sticks you with a needle missed my vain. She tried to adjust the needle twice and still missed. Another person came to help and they missed as well. Finally they decided to try my other arm. It worked but the next day the arm they missed several times on was bruised black and blue for several days. It was weak, I could
I was on my third donation at this facility and let me tell you the first was amazing, the second was rough but I pulled thorough it. The third time is the charm right. Wrong! I had one nice gentleman checked me in got everything ready and then was abruptly pulled away before being able to insert the needle into my arm. Then 15 mins goes by then the same person who pulled the first person from me showed up demanding all my info again offering no explanation whatsoever as to what happened. Then after ask
I had a very disappointing experience at BioLife ? 906 Seton Pkwy, Kyle, Texas 78640. I went in fully prepared to donate, only to be turned away because of my tattoos. Despite the fact that my tattoos are completely healed and were done at a licensed shop, they still wouldn't allow me to donate. There was no flexibility or clear explanation beyond a blanket policy. It felt unfair and outdated, especially since other donation centers have more reasonable guidelines. I was ready to help others and take time o
I wasn't able to fully donate today due to some technical issues. However, I was surprised when I got home to find that I had been paid fully for my time! Someone probably told me I'd still get paid but there was a lot going on so I don't think I heard it. Everyone here is really nice.
I've been coming to this location for about 5 months now, have only been late by one minute twice and the same girl with the very curly dark hair in the front has told me it's too late. I've had conversations with other staff saying they've made exceptions for other donors by letting them come in one or two minutes after their appointment or grace period. Just very disappointing that I drive 30 minutes just to be told no by the same person multiple times. Other staff have been kind but this one specific gir
This facility is very clean. The staff are very friendly and smile. I've been to other donation plasma locations and it was ridiculous for waiting etc. The kyle location far exceeds any expectations you may have. They explain what is going to happen during the donation process and actually show appreciation for donation. Its a very caring facility. I THANKED THEM Upon LEAVING FOR THEIR Smiles and APPRECIATION
Seen to many people walk out with big hematomas. I donated 28 times and then they gave me one because they stuck me wrong. Good luck if you dare, I will never go back, to many inexperienced techs working here, should be nurses!!
I would like to express my disappointment with the service I have encountered since moving here. It appears that there is a lack of commitment to providing quality service, and I have observed several instances where staff have made excuses for not fulfilling their responsibilities effectively. For example, during my last donation, I experienced an issue where the needle was inserted incorrectly, which has unfortunately happened on MULTIPLE occasions. I also faced an unfortunate situation where I was banned
easy and simple process. for the most part everyone was nice and helpful. however, from the moment i walked in, this older lady in the front was yelling at me like i was supposed to already know where to go and what to do. i was new, even when i told her, she didn't care and continued to yell at me when i didn't know where to go. other than her bitterness, it was a great process. i get it was a little busy, but nobody else talked to me like that, especially when i was confused and didn't know what to do nex
Hit or miss. I've been going to this location for almost a year and drive 2 hours round-trip since this is the closest location. My first few donations were awful, the third one ending with me getting deferred after the needle was inserted incorrectly and a massive amount of blood began to pool and I was unable to get my blood/saline back. I decided to go back after the deferrment and had a few great months of donating and helpful staff. Since October, things have drastically gone downhill. The staff at the
Love this location. Staff is always nice and pleasant. They are efficient when it comes to time. And they make the visits worth it. I get coupons every week for a chance to make $100 and more.
The girl with pink hair up front is always rude to me, disrespectful, and loves to talk a lot to her coworker, slowing down screening process times. I don't know why. 1 star strictly because of her.
The staff members are incredibly nice and helpful. The fingerprint sign in system is really bad. It works for some people some times. Mine no longer works so I have to bother the staff to sign in. Time consuming for everyone.
Huge shoutout to Richard and Abby! They were both very kind and helpful throughout the whole process! Richard was able to stick me seamlessly (probably the easiest stick since I've been coming in) and they both were Amazon at answering my questions and keeping up good conversation! Thanks guys!!
Having donated over 75 times has been gratifying. It feels good to give back. The staff at this location are always pleasant and helpful. I have not had a single bad experience here. They will answer questions and help with anything you need. Great experience overall.
Apparently in the 3 seconds that I left the building I could have done drugs! Like I could not have done that before I checked in! Go to San Marcos! Donate there with the collage kids!
right off the bat i walked in with my friends and they immediately and very rudely told me that we needed an appointment. we understood and then went back to the car and all made accounts and made appointments for the about 50min later we then went inside and tried to figure out what we do next. but after being repeatedly ignored my the woman at the front desk (dark haired lady with the thin blonde highlights) we just asked if we would sit in the waiting room. about 30min later we went to go see if we neede
Place is clean and organized. This place and its staff does not get enough credit and these reviews are frankly from upset donors that couldn't donate because of things out of the staffs control. I've always been handled with care and greeted by friendly staff. I've witnessed multiple people yell and cause scenes here multiple times. And the MAJORITY of staff handles it with grace. If you want to donate and are fairly healthy it's worth checking out and getting more info for some spare money. There IS somet
Wait time is ridiculous in the Kyle location. I stopped coming during Covid due to the wait, it's 2022 and the wait time to get checked is still the same. HIRE more people or don't over schedule people. My appointment was at 3pm and it's 3:40 with only 2 people checking vitals and 12 people in front of me. Why have 8 vital desk and there's only 2 people?! Do better!!!
Found out that the one in Kyle put a hold because they mislabeled an allergy (pollen) and won't remove it. The company seems to also be anti trans .... If you ever were on hrt and stopped they want release for everything.
the staff never sticks the needle in right and a lead always has to adjust it. It's also been a week and i still don't have my $5 that i redeemed my points for despite calling multiple times.
There's a lot of misleading comments about this place. The staff are super friendly, all things considered. It's their job to keep a very clean and calm environment, and make sure there is nothing that will contaminate the donations supply. Some people don't seem to understand the importance of not being sick while they're there. For my own donation experience, I have a number of health problems and was very upfront about all of my issues the very first time I went. The person doing my first physical took
Lady found every excuse in the book to tell me I couldn't donate. My last experience with the Dallas center was terrible, I came here thinking maybe it was the center, nah it's just the company. I don't care how much they pay, they're disrespecting our country by flying not one but TWO VERY LARGE trans flags in the main hall, no American flag in sight. Will NEVER be back.
Turned away for my 3pm appointment. Lady was Turing off the sign in computer as I walked in. She told me it was too late and that they don't take anyone after 3. I showed her my phone with 3pm time. What's the point of a 3pm appointment if I literally can't come in at 3pm. She tried to tell me it was after 3 after I showed her my phone.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got all of the information I wanted. I had a nice relaxing and comfortable experience.
The staff was very kind and patient during my first donation. They answered all my questions, listened to my concerns, and made sure I was feeling well during and after my donation.
If you LOVE rude, difficult and slow people then Biolife is the place for you! With all the posters around the building saying that they love to help people you would think that they would be friendly and nice staff. However, I had multiple people giving me attitude and roll their eyes at me which is a bummer. When I walked into the waiting room I wondered why all the seats were worn out and i figured it out quickly, it's because you have to wait forever even with a scheduled appointment. Don't feel sorry f
Nate made it quick, easy, and painless! Will definitely come again the next time I need help making rent in this capitalist hellscape we call ?the greatest country on Earth?
I got lightheaded and had the sweats towards towards the end and they iced me and made me feel comfortable. I should have ate more that morning. Second time I went in, everything went well, although I ate so much that morning of. The second time, I did my usual daily activities without any noticeable side effects. Staff is terrific here! 3rd time after work i actually felt energized after the donation weird?
Knowledgeable staff and a well designed process makes the donations efficient and pleasant. It's pretty cold though which after the winter cold ends might end up being nice
First timer with a wonderful staff experience... When they caution you to eat more, they are not kidding! They are truly looking out for your well being, and a successful donation. Immense gratitude to Timothy & Chris, for helping me through a rough pressure drop. Knowledgeable & discreet team; all around professional, kind, & clean. I will definitely be back, and solemnly swear to do better on my part. Thank you all for all that you do! ?
This facility is very clean, organized, and efficient. I was a first time donor and was there for ~3 hours from start to finish, which was expected. After the initial physical & donation it should be ~1 hour per donation. Everyone was very kind, informative and helpful with any questions. The employees were quite jovial and it's apparent they enjoy their job. Toni, the phlebotomist assisting me, was stellar!! He was educating me on what the machine does, very kind and super friendly. The only suggestion I w
At this point I'll probably be searching for a new donation company all together. I've been donating over a year and I've had more negative experiences than positive. Wait time here is DUMB, no matter what time a day. You'll spend more time Waiting then anything else. Staff are a hit or miss, some super nice and caring, others are just there for a pay check. I tried to donate yesterday, went in did all vitals and went back into chair for donation. Someone perfume or some tickle in the air got me waking to m
Super nice staff! Was my first time donating and they were very busy so it took a while to get me through and it didn't help that I took a while to draw from so they had to stay over 20 mins their closing, but they were super patient and really nice! Really great people they have working there :)
I spend an hour on the line because there were only two technicians doing the test. And they don't have any hurry. They make you waste time. It's better the one on north Austin.
Unfortunately, I have now had a few experiences that made me question donation at all. First, my blind friend was told to "go get something to eat" and the staff neither provided an escort nor allowed me to do so. Since she is blind, and traffic is a factor in the area, this was a safety issue. When I brought the issue to the supervisor's attention, I was told that it was "policy" and there was no consideration for her safety or her disability. Due to that experience, she chose not to donate at all after th
Everyone there is patient and kind and very down to earth! I appreciate you all for making us feel comfortable and in every way and you all go above and beyond making sure nothing hurts or just simple conversation goes a long way! Thank you BioLife!
Thank you sara for your fast response and compassion noticing i was having a reaction. I wish there were more saras in the world.
Clean facility. Suggestion for a better procedure if a donor selects an incorrect question on their questionnaire before a donation. The questionnaire prompts that an ?employee will review your questionnaire? yet that does not happen. I waited in line 15 minutes up to vitals. In that time a patient who came in after me for a physical was taken in by the nurse. Upon arriving at vitals they THEN tell me I have to go wait at the nurse station. Now I have to wait behind a physical that was scheduled after me. T
I had a reaction and began feeling faint and light headed. The staff was there immediately to address the situation and I was feeling better in no time. Their fast response and reassuring demeanor help to assuage any fears I might have had about returning.
Arrived for an appointment for my first donation and was told my breakfast was not adequate (provided with a list that is not on the website) I had to leave, eat more foods with iron and come back. Came back, and was told immediately they probably could not take me because I have tattoos on my arm. Would have been great information to have in advance. Like maybe before I left and came back with VERY visible tattoos. Was assessed by someone who really just seemed like they did not want me to donate. Drove an
This location is very clean, the staff is mostly professional, and the donation process as a whole is usually pretty smooth. My biggest complaint is the amount of staff. The donation process at this location can take from an hour and fifteen minutes up to two hours. Sometimes there is only one person doing physicals. Sometimes it takes up to 15 minutes once you get a bed for someone to hook you up to the machine. If anyone in charge is reading this and actually cares, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get these hard wor
My husband had to come four times for a month to be cleared for donation. First time they didn't have a phone-in interpreter on weekend, it's call-in, like can't you call to New York or California, anywhere outside of this hostile indiverse state? Next time they took three hours but deferred him because they realized they needed a doc from his psychiatrist about his PTSD. We came with a document next weekend (we work, we can't come during the week) to only find out that the doctor who vets the documents is
I have been coming here 1 to 2x a week for a year. Always pleasant staff. I am a Nurse Practioner and understand the complexity of there role noting the staff perform above expectations. I appreciate the friendly attitude of all the staff balanced with professionalism. Amanda the center supervisor is very knowledgeable and pleasant, especially when unforeseen situations arise - she intervenes swiftly, decisively and from an advanced practice nurses view point she intelligently and efficiently resolves the
I don't know why they make you make an appointment when they'll make you sit there 45 minutes after your appointment time to get to you. Then let you know AFTER you wait that you have to eat a ?full protein meal? prior to your donation and to come back another time. Thanks for wasting all that time for me when you could?ve said that initially at the check in desk.
My experience at Biolife has been mostly great. But the last few times I've donayrd, I have had the same young woman assist me. She is not friendly or welcoming. Also, one time I was the first one seated out of six in my section but I was the last one to be connected to a machine. This caused a 20 minute delay. It was frustrating. Usually, staff are friendly and talkative and aware of who is next to be set up.
The location I go to in Kyle it's always short staffed which makes for appointments from the min I walk in to when I leave 2 hours. Some of the staff are friendly and courteous. It is a clean facility but the wait it's too long. Some of the staff I see them working with a sense of urgency others not so much.
Lady at front desk was VERY rude didnt want to help brushed me off when i asked questions about the appointment THE LADY WITH THE BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS . please remove her or have someone else at the front desk because this is ridiculous.
Very caring staff. Your health, safety, and time is their priority.
I have donated here about 8 times but these past two donations I had such a terrible experience! Definitely need to retrain or hire more experienced staff
As always the Kyle, TX location is efficiently run. As I had been out of town for an extended period of time for work I had to get a physical before my donation, and they ran me through that quickly. The donation part is always good, but my only minor point is they always seem about one to two techs short, so while they are working feverishly moving form bed to bed, I often wait 5 minutes both to begin the donation and to end it. The issue isn't the staff sitting around chatting or texting, it is just the a
This place is super clean with a great staff. Our favorite tech is Richard! I always hope to get assigned to his color section. When I don't he still comes by to say hello & to see how I'm doing. I once had a reaction & he rushed over to help me and put me at ease. Thoroughly explained what happened & made sure I was 100% better. He's so fun to chat with & very knowledgeable about any questions I have. He's gentle at administering & doesn't waste any time. I've seen him jump into other sections to help othe
Good spot, nice folks, clean and comfortable....wait time can get out of controll sometimes. Standing line for vitals for 45-50 min after your time to be onsite is a bit excessive. Sometimes you just have to leave cause you can't wait that long.
LONG WAIT TIME! If you come here be prepared to stay at least 2 HOURS. You set an appointment at a certain time but you don't even get called In till 45min-1 hour after your scheduled time.I just don't see the point of an appointment. They even have a bed wait at times. Wish there was a different plasma center near by. But I will say EVERYONE here is super nice. And their app makes it super easy to schedule your appointments! The payout is OK could be more like other places.
I have had issues with donating plasma in the past. My nurse was kind in hearing my fainting history and why I have successfully addressed the factors that interfere with a successful donation. He believed me and cleared the block on my donation account. Then my donation went beautifully smooth. Thank you BioLife Kyle!
I've had nothing but good experiences at BioLife Kyle. Today I got Micheal and his stick was flawless, pain free and quick. I've waited long wait times here but I am extremely understanding to that. If you've worked before you should also be understanding, as these people are human and are doing their best with the possibility of bad circumstances, weather it be short staffing, extremely busy schedule or personal matters that can be happening outside those walls and affecting them at work (and we've all had
They are constantly understaffed. The lines are constantly long. Half of the staff are rude/dismissive to the point I feel engaging them in a conversation is an intrusion to them. If you have an appointment, expect to take 40 minutes to an hour just to get to a bed. Then another 20-30 minutes just to get stuck and start the process. I have had to factor in the extra time when creating an appointment over the 6-7 years since they opened. Unfortunately, it's gotten considerably worse, as has some staffs attit
Old Hispanic woman at front desk gave my appointment to someone else and was happy to find a reason to turn me away.
For constant donors there should be more stimuli. But otherwise everything is super good.
why after completing the entire donation process you have to sit with the needle in your arm twenty minutes before they come remove it? then the girl stuck me through my vein cause she was to busy talking bout her personal problems to another tech and i knot in my vein are hurts so bad im in tears
The girls on the floor were great! Very welcoming and even though it was late they were treating everyone nicely not rushing anyone out of there.
It's a nice place. There are a couple of staff who never smile or interact with the donor?s. They do not seem happy. Other than those couple of people everyone else is great!
Went in for my second donation!! Was more than pleased!! Had a slight reaction just due to not drinking enough water before hand, etc and Richard SAVED MY LIFE. 100% deserves a raise and a badge of honor. Top tier employee right there love the energy! :)
Was there 2 hours today. Get to the nurse finally then I'm told I have to have a form signed by a Physician because I truthfully answered that I have been diagnosed with PTSD. My PTSD is not a transferable disease and should have nothing to do with me donating. Since I'm not being treated by a Physician I'm ineligible. It's BULLSHIT!
BioLife Kyle is run by professionals, imho. The place has enough space between chairs. It is clean. There are a lot of windows for good light. Who wants to volunteer to have a needle stuck in your arm in a dark, cramped space that has supplies everywhere because the bldg is just too small - thats a description of Grifols BioMat in San Marcos. Grifols never returns calls & rarely answers the phone. Parking lot is on the frontage road of IH35 South. Feels unsafe. I go into detail about another facility for co
They are very unprofessional at the Kyle center I went in at 3:00 on all of a sudden they changed their policy to fit around their schedule it used to be 10 minutes before or 10 minutes after now they don't do that with the first or the last appointment of the day isn't that just convenient
Been a donor for many years. This location need to schedule more staffing. Totally understand when short staffing is an issue, but that's not the case anymore. Staff admitted it was super busy due to promotions and they were not actually short staffed but that management was not scheduling enough people. Makes the wait times ridiculous. Sometimes certain front staff has zero hustle for vitals which causes beds to be empty when they could have donors in them. Hope they can get it back on track to make this
I brought a friend that I referred who is blind, and it didn't go very well. I hadn't completed the questionnaire yet, and my blind friend was told to go get something to eat and come back. I told her that I would stop the questionnaire and take her to eat, then return to the facility. Before I could even explain that I was the escort for my blind friend, I was told that I couldn't leave and that I would not be allowed to donate if I did. At this point, I was frustrated due to the fact that the person speak
If I could give 0 stars I would. Please, please, please do not trust your valuable life and your blessings of donation to this clinic. They did not return my blood twice on 2 separate occasions. If you are new & unfamiliar with how Plasma works, while donating a portion of your blood is through tubes during the Plasma extraction, once completed your blood is then returned back to you. Twice I lost over 200ml of blood due to malfunctioned machines and reckless nurses, who wiggled and twisted the needle in m
Where do I begin. As a full time student I saw this as the perfect opportunity to cover some of the extra costs of living. My first appointment the staff was welcoming. The nurse on site gave me the opportunity to donate another day, since he believed I did not eat the right meal to donate. I agreed and came back two days later where I was turned down because my pulse was 112. Considering they had me waiting and I'm an anxious person yea it's a little high. But others warned me prior this is what they do so
Wish I could do three and a half but this place is mostly good I've only had maybe two or three negative experiences and I've been going since 2018. I do think that with the price of plasma they could be paying us more but the costumer service is good! Love the older lady in the front and the one with big glasses and I've even had some sticks that were almost painless! Clean around but sometimes the bathrooms are meh but I don't use them here often.
Good experience. Easy to do. Caring staff. One suggestion, bring a jacket or blanket. The process sometimes chills you. Very short line about two thirds of the time.
I only have one comment I wish the payment structure was more even. For example if the total for two donations is 135 maybe split it in half equally instead of 40 and 95. Just a thought.
Very friendly staff and always listen to my silly stories. The staff remembers their patients and treat them like family. The facility is very clean and organized. Sometimes I have to wait but not long. It's been nice having the extra staff training here for the other facility. I have had a couple of problems with my draws and my hand falling asleep. The staff has helped very quickly and kept my worries down. I enjoy and love this staff. I would recommend to everyone.
I love BioLife, free money , helping those in need out and the staff makes it easy, with their knowledge, friendliness and hard work. There are so many workers there I would consider my friends because I see them twice a week ??
More than most times its been pretty decent going here with qualified people that are professional, sl I can't complain. This last time I went the girl put the needle in wrong & hanging out. I did'nt move my arm unless to squeeze. I started to bleed out from needle since it was not all the way in. So they had to unhook me and I had to stop the procees. However they did pay me, but I cannot come back for 2 months to finish the rest of the promotion. They asked me if I moved during the process, but I said no.
I would like to acknowledge Nurse Timothy at the Kyle,Texas BioLife facility. After a less than stellar experience with other professionals a few days earlier, I was seen by Timothy today. He treated me with utmost respect, patience and went above and beyond to give me the best experience available. He definitely deserves to be recognized for his professionalism. Thank you Tim.
The employees that work there are rude and very unprofessional. When you're waiting for your return to be done. The associates know that you're done. They do it on purpose and make you wait. I've over heard them say that amongst themselves. That is so inconsiderate and very very rude. They need to be fired or retrained.
Extremely unprofessional behavior by the nurse, Tim. I had visited this center twice prior to this most recent visit. First time I went in a was asked to have my doctor complete a form prior to donating. Second time I went, I went to confirm that the form was faxed over to them and received and that things were in order, the nurse at that time confirmed that they had everything they needed for me to donate. I visited today fully expecting to donate due to having gotten a green light before. I was told by Ti
This place is nice and some of the employees are super helpful but my experience was not great. When I went for my first appointment my heart rate was too high so I was told to reschedule, so I did. when I had the time I came back for them to tell me it was too late in the day to donate but I would get my physical and do my questions. When I rescheduled again to finally donate I wasn't given a first donor card, wasn't given any instructions, no one gave me a debit card, or a welcome packet like my husband r
Love this location. The first time was a little bit of a wait but I didn't mind because I had a book to read and had realistic expectations of 2-3 hours. The staff is so friendly. I got medically deferred before I could reach the bonus amount but it's not anything anyone did wrong. Tim, the nurse was always very kind. Mike was my favorite poker haha overall, really great experience.
Thank you Gabriel for doing your magic and fixing the machine to get me done quickly
Biolife staff is outstanding! 5 STARS actually. I've been donating for over 20 years and have always cherished the thought that every donation is helping someone! The compensation used to be 5 STARS as well because it was better than a lot of centers. In my estimation however, it has dropped to 3 STARS. We used to get incentives for achieving goals. Example: "Donate 8 times this month and receive an additional $40-$50- whatever amount." Now I have to donate 7x (@200 points each) in order to exchange for $
I donate here twice weekly and love this location! The staff are all friendly and efficient. Today they were staffed lower than usual due to a few unexpected staff absences. Maddie, one of the techs was amazing today! I watched her juggle so many roles and always kept a smile and amazing customer service. If you're considering becoming a donor, just do it and let this location and it's staff take care of you! Thank you all! And today, thank you Maddie!
Decent place for blood suckers. Courteous and professional staff that take care of you well.
The entire staff is always so friendly. They make sure you are comfortable. If it's your first time they will make sure you are comfortable and will walk you through the whole process. Be sure to take a couple of hours out for your day if it's your first time.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
