They're doing a good job very professional. A real character about what they do Thanks Emily. Your emotions. Also, some people make more money than others. I was always on the short end some people make 125 a week. Some make $160 80 a week. Why I can't make that much?
New machines are quick, once techs got into the rhythm of the new machines, the flow goes much smoother and faster. The techs are all nice, but the best ones for me are Zoe, Devon, Andrea and Misty. These people make it easy for me to talk to, because after going there for 1.5 years, I still feel nervous to talk to anyone, but these make it easy.
The first time I went the staff was super kind but it took 2 hours, mostly me sitting in the waiting room, to be told I needed my doctor to sign a waiver. That's fine, I took care of that and got it sent to them. I tried calling multiple times to confirm my information was received and never got a call back. I finally got an email almost 2 weeks after the forum was sent that it was received and to make an appointment. The second time I came in the staff was very kurt and rude. They refused to speak to
Actually- half a star... when the older more mature people are working-the time is 45min/1hr from start to finish.....I've been here for an hour STANDING in line while they have like 19 chairs occupied. Theres like 20 of us standing here and 6ppl working the machines. Lolli-GAGGING-damn shame customer service has come to this with this new generation of kids!!!! SMH
I drive 20 minutes to donate only to be told that they are still waiting for my blood work to come back. Waste of my time. Maybe if the app would tell us this we would not have to waste time and money going to just be turned away. Might have to go back to grifols. And they need to hire more staff. One person work the front with a line of 25 people. They have 5 nurses get them to do some work up front instead of sitting in the office doing nothing.
It's a lot quicker than most plasma places but Iv noticed that when Keevahn is on the floor. Things go a lot faster, he's very diligent in his work!
Tell me why I've been taking my iron consistently for MONTHS , even taking double the days I donate, and Biolife is telling me that my iron is too low to donate????? This was never a problem at the previous locations I donated at.. On top of that, I have in my files that I have a bandaid allergy and the nurses keep trying to put bandaids on me even after viewing my profile.
Let me begin by saying your employees in the Lafayette, LA center are phenomenal. They hold up under so much stress and overload. My discontent is not the employee but the wait time. I have gone in to donate at 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 10:05 a.m. and even 10:30 a.m. For BioLife to have only one employee at the Vital Station and only two in the phlebotomy/sticking station is ridiculous. My time is valuable also. The fact that have to wait in one line for one hour and then another line for another hour is
Make sure you they put in your medical history correct or they will blame you for their mess up. They wanted doctor info from 10+ years ago and claimed they called me. Never got any calls and never got a chance to find medical records for it. Got blacklisted for their screw up.
Just OK. Everyone there was neither rude nor friendly. Every part of the process had waiting, even with an appointment, which was to be expected given the volume of people there, I guess. I'm bummed I couldn't donate plasma and help people (I donate whole blood all the time and have never been rejected for the things I'd been rejected for today - it was pretty odd). There were some weird questions too that I got asked multiple times like what gender was I at birth and obvious checking for track marks...
Worst place in Lafayette! Go anywhere but here. They constantly turn you away for rules they don't state...example you can donate every 2 days ..48 hours...well they don't tell you even if you wait 48 hours...they still turn you away if it's too close to 48 hours...why not say 50 omg this place is insane!!
Process takes entirely too long. There's no point in having an appointment. If your appointment is for 2 pm, you won't be getting on the bed until 4:30-5oclock. Ridiculous. The Baton Rouge location on coursey is the worst when it comes to this. Recently I had an appointment for 12:55, I got there, finished my questionnaire at about 12:56, didn't start donating until 3:20 something, wasn't walking out the door until 4:15. So once again, what was the point in the appointment?
The inability to get in and out within an Hour or Two is ridiculous!! It's consistently 3-4hrs of a process; 30-60mins for screening, another 20-30mins to wait for a bed, sometimes 30-45mins to be stuck!!!! THEN the donation process (1hr on a good stick, 2hrs+ on a bad one). This company needs to be managed differently and I don't necessarily mean at the local level. Otherwise the employees are knowledgeable, approachable and amenable .......????????? ***New Management*** (I'm told) The new machines allo
Understaffed. Been coming here for about a year and there's still no change in wait times. Sometimes there's a double line in screening with only one or two people taking peoples vitals. You can be the first one here, come in in the middle of the day, or be the last donor and you'll still end up being here 2-3 hrs. It seems like the only issue is not enough staff. There's always more than enough beds.
Sadly you have to put stars they don't even deserve a one they are rude!!! The older ladies that do the intial check in a work up are suppose to be the work up staff and the face of the company when you walk in from the get go they are frowning rude and inconsiderate... I work in the medical feild .... so i know how things should go .... I started the work up process and they wanted to know the answer to a question I didn't know the answer to so I was told I couldn't donate and while I was walking out of th
I have went 5 times and never got to donate. First my iron was low . Then because I have a neck issue. Then I was told again I needed to sign a document because I take a pain medication. Went to sign it , the nurse apologized that didn't make no sense ?.. got approved to go back . Got there 15 mins early to here we not taking no more appointments??. They were behind . I done went eat 2 times spend 30 each time to be prepared. I drive 2 hrs round trip ?.. and never got no where's ???? also the first time I w
Here we go, this is a long one. I'm a new donor and there's a promotion going on that if you donate 8 times by a certain date you end up with $800. My expiration date is 12/23/24. That's a Monday and the are closed that day, and when I asked why it was like that I was told "well some centers are open 7 days a week", how stupid. 12/17/24 my appt was at 5:40pm, I waited in line to be screened for over an hour. Then moved to the second line to be put in a bed for donation. There were 6 people ahead of me, I wa
Went give plasma today 1/2/2025. The center was very understaffed. My appointment was for 12:45 and didn't get to the donation chair until after 2:30. There were only 2 people taking vitals with about 20 people in line. For it to take 2-3 hours to give plasma is ridiculous!!! The 2 phlebotomist was try to keep morale up and had a great attitude. They were working together to get everyone in and out as quick as possible. They were the only reason people didn't walk out!!! Lashequa and Lori
STAFF IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. CLEAN ENVIRONMENT. PROFESSIONAL STAFF. I LOVE BEING ABLE TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT & MOST OF ALL MY PLASMA IS SAVING SO MANY LIVES!!!
Very professional and skilled staff. The waiting time is too long even for returning donors. If i can suggest for more staff to help with donors, that would be a great help for the waiting time.Thank you!
I have never had an unpleasant encounter with anyone at this facility. ALL the staff are amazing.
Update? After a year there is zero improvement. You can easily spend 3 hours there as a returning donor. Grifols is looking better every day. If you are thinking of switching to Biolife, don't, it's not worth it.? So slow. Never enough workers. Very long lines at both intake and donation. No one seems to care or try to speed things up or help out. Not enough open hours to cover the amount of donors. And if you have a late day appointment you risk being sent home. Expect to be here a very long time with no w
Staff is very friendly, but severally over worked. Wait times are ridiculous, because center is under staffed horribly.
Literally had one employee in management walk away as I was talking to her went on 10 minutes break very un organized Upper management not organized either
Great and really friendly staff. They all made sure I was comfortable at every step. Stevie Ray and Janae were amazing, as well as the nurse who checked me in, Venezia.
There is always a long line (for intake and donation) no matter what time you come. Donors tend to walk out regularly. The employees seem tired and overworked. They are polite ( some more than others) yet, they get snappy and tend to complain about lack of workers. As for the sticks.. they do seem to leave bruises. If they had a bigger staff, I think they would be happier and less stressed. It is always clean and brightly lit.
My first visit last week went very smoothly, I had never donated plasma before and it ended up being a good experience. I returned on yesterday to complete my second donation, where 3 different people were digging in my arm with needles. My arms sore and swollen the rest of the day. I was very disappointed with the experience. I will be returning in a few days and we will be hopefully trying again. If it doesn't work out I probably won't return.
I have been here multiple times. First time I was greeted by a middle age woman grayish hair wore glasses Caucasian. She was very rude and never finished my check in as new donor so never got seen. Second time, they do everything but the plasma part because they say it's too late. Why put me through all this if it's too late. I'm came back today which is third time here. like I was supposed to appointment for 10:45am I was greeted again by that same woman she tells me she needs proof of address now why nobo
The staff is wonderful and always friendly. Couldn't give 5 stars because the timing of schedule/appts are off more than not. I know to plan will be there at least an hour and a half or so. Twice I was there almost 3 hours.
Its just take more time than I am.trying to give. Appointment at 8am won't be on bed until 12 pm or 1 pm and this is not including your time plasma time. You would think its because of first physical no its just so understaffed. Need better management if can't keep staff. 2 month's this been going on.
Overbooked and understaffed- the first appointment wasn't awful. Had to do a physical so I expected it to take a while. And it took 3 hours total. But the 2nd appointment took just as long without the physical. It doesn't take a business genius to see they purposely overbook (which I get to make up for no-shows), but they are not staffed to handle the number of clients. I literally STOOD for an hour and half before finally getting into the donation chair. I have chronic back pain, so I was hurting badly (I
While making an appt keep in mind that even on a slow day/slow hours, you will be there for AT LEAST 3 hours. The computers used to sign in and fill out questionnaires dont work very well so be prepared to wait extra time correcting those answers with the 1 nurse they have on staff. Id say its a waste of time but you caan make money but sometimes with the wait, it averages less than 10 an hour
As someone who donates blood on a regular basis, it was a no brainier to donate plasma, especially when they pay you for it. After initial physical and donation the following donations are a quick process. Facility is clean and staff are professional. Typically you can make up to 800 dollars on your initial donations and $30-70 each additional time afterwards. So this comment is an edit. But over the last month or so the wait times have been terrible. I had an appointment this morning, it was so bad I j
First time donating last week and the nurse was so nice and really made me comfortable and she seemed to be a really caring person... She answered the questions that I had asked being a first time donor and helped me to be less anxious about getting sticked with that big needle..... Thanks Jill Tall, you're the best!
The service was friendly and the environment was clean. There was an inconvenience with their machine as it ended up hurting my arm causing it to turn blue. I just wished I was paid extra for those type of inconveniences. Very unhappy by that but satisfied with everything else.
Love Biolife! The center is clean and orderly, and even on the busiest days it rarely takes over 2 hours from start to finish and usually takes less time than that, which is much faster than the other center in town. The staff is great! Special shout out to Misti & Jessica, they are so nice and professional and Jessica in particular is very good at sticking, especially more difficult veins. The payments can fluctuate in amount from week to week/month to month which is the only issue I have had.
Three times the charm! This is my 3rd attempt to donate due to reasons such as having to defer from a recent procedure, and issues with the computer and finger scanner. The nurse Jill, Mara, Misti, among other staff members, have made my experience pleasant! Jill, thank you so much for your kindness, positive attitude and enthusiasm! Your friendly service was greatly appreciated! Mara and Misti, thank you so much for your kindness, compassion, and expertise!
Honestly at first it was cool but I ain?t gonna lie lately I been sitting there 2+ hours. What is the point of an appointment if it's like that? Why accept so many appointments if you guys cannot accommodate? Line to the door and another line just to get to the phlebotomy area. If you need need need the bread cool. It's worse when employees dont seem to give a? hoot. Get more staff. Get more equipment. Maybe take less donors per hour. Also having an area or way to divide first time donors that need an exami
Great experience !, the staff were greeting and helpful, I was a bit nervous my first time , but the staff made sure they kept me informed and safe and everything went perfectly Awesome experience.
I loved my experience here. It was a super long wait bc there were a lot of new donors, but the staff made sure we were taking care of with snacks, water, and even gave us a little bag of goodies for waiting so long. My Senior Plasma Tech, Ashley, was a complete gem. I'll definitely ask for her next time I come. She explained everything thoroughly and assured I was okay even through my anxiety and millions of questions. Overall, super great experience.
I was apprehensive about my first visit for physical and donation but all apprehension ceased the moment I walked through the doors. The facility is immaculate, newly renovated, clean, and inviting. The staff is warm and welcoming. It was as though I were visiting family. The center was extremely busy and everyone's focus was on the tasks at hand. Because it was so busy, the screening and physical portions were the most time consuming and long. The actual donation time is approximately 40 minutes. It
Everyone was really nice and helpful, it was a full house today. The education says that first time donors should be done within 2 hours but it took almost 5 for me. It's a new facility and they're still getting their bearings so it's understandable. Hope they get into a more efficient routine as time goes on but it wasn't a bad experience. Will be back.
Id give zero. The nurses (male and female)nearly started a violent fight. Very unprofessional. Been asking for corporate number to complain. They refuse to give it. Keep saying there going to call back never do. Place is a joke. Stay away
1-3 (12/24)Months: They are super efficient, I donate twice a week around 2pm and I'm in and out in 55mins. Definitely helps with bills nowadays. 9-12 Months(10/25): Starting to see new workers getting their training underway. Most of the time there's maybe 30 minute worth of waiting between starting the questionnaire until sitting in a chair to donate.
I always have a positive experience at this center. The workers are friendly and professional. The facility is clean, but I do have one suggestion that would make it perfect. It would be awesome to have hand sanitizer at the check in stations. Many people place their fingers on the scanners and there is a lot of sickness going around.
The nurses are so nice. They seem short staffed but they work very quickly!! Love going there twice a week for my donations!
BioLife Lafayette is a JOKE! What a horrible experience! August 2023 I signed up for my first donation, BioLife was new to Lafayette and I was looking to make extra money now that I was newly engaged! After a friend's referral from a Texas location I downloaded the app and scheduled my first visit which included a phyicial. Everything went smooth up until the stick, the phlebotomist didn't explain anything and before I knew it she was paying more attention to the people walking into the building then stic
This place is understaff and long long wait times. It doesn't pay to make an appointment if you will be seen 3 or 4 hours later after the appointment. Staff seems like they are frustrated and the spirit or culture of this place is leaking with bad with negativity. Soon as you walk in you mood changes in a negative way.
I just donated for my first time. The facility is clean and they get you in and out as fast as possible. I really enjoyed the employees that helped me while donating. They made me feel calm and relaxed. Thank you BioLife team for your service and compassion.
Be aware that while your a donor if the Plasma phlebotomy technician is unsuccessful in making a vein connection (post questionnaire and pre screening to determine your eligibility) which may in many cases takes HOURS you WILL NOT BE PAID as advertised. In layman terms you can be in compliance and certified to donate and should you not provide a donation of no fault of your own, BioLife will ask to insert a second syringe attempt into your other arm. Therein lies another issue if an attempt fails the first
Facility was clean. Every worker there was very pleasant, knowledgeable and organized. The first visit has many steps, but the process was smooth with no idle time in between. Pleasant experience - much better than I was expecting. Glad I chose BioLife.
People are not friendly here everyone walking around looking mad ?? Nobodys smiling nothing. Everyone looks angry never on time lines long. There off Sunday and Monday look like everyone would be ready to work but. NOPE THEY WILL NOT SMILE WITH YOU
Come 3 times my labels can't print so I can't donate, come the 4th time oh well you need a physical because you came multiple times with no donation, yeah because of your system not me, yeah but we also stopped doing physicals today make a regular appointment for tomorrow they'll pull you to the side. Today 5th time oh no you can't donate because you need a physical appointment we have to reschedule. 5 times wasting my gas and time to come out here.
Asinine and idiotic. Tweakers can donate no problem but an 8 year old PTSD diagnosis rules me out. I've spent 2 hours to be denied again. How about do a physical first to see if someone is even eligible before you stick them, poke them, and subject them to hours of bullshit?
Troice was the best tech I've had since my first experience! She definitely knows how to treat and make a patient feel comfortable and is very confident in her job! I will always request her if she's available!
Loved my first donor experience. Takes awhile for the first time, but overall great experience and great people. Especially my girl TEE!! She really made me feel comfortable and laughed with me when I was definitely a little nervous. Also gave me beef jerky lol. Love it and love Tee
Absolutely worst place known to man. Insanely slow for no reason at all. People are terribly rude. And if you have plans to go in. Prepare to have 5 plus hours to waste. Cause you'll be there for that long every time.
I was here Saturday( opening day) the wait was very long(which I expected due to grand opening). The staff was very professional and facility is very clean. What stood out to me the most was, I was stuck by a technician but with only my facial expressions the second technician approached(I think her name was Joyce or Troyce) and took over. I was stuck a second time by her but I didn't even know she had stuck me. Probably the best stick I've had at a plasma center.Great teamwork skills. I'll definitely cont
GO DONATE AT TALECRIS PLASMA CENTER INSTEAD OF WASTING TIME AT BIOLIFE! You'll have less ridiculous hoops to jump through to be able to donate. BioLife deferred my donation without doctor approval for my PTSD & sleep apnea diagnoses. They faxed the necessary forms to my doctors & I picked them up to hand deliver to the reviewing BioLife doctor. Was told by the nurse that I can't hand deliver paperwork despite them being filled out & signed by my providers and that my doctors would have to fax a copy to the
Amazing experience . It was my first time donating and every single staff member was beyond friendly. They answered all my questions and made sure to check on me throughout every step even when I was waiting. For a brand new location with the craziness of a grand opening, it was all very organized and SO CLEAN!
I donate at the Lafayette, Louisiana location twice a week. The staff is awesome, friendly, ready to help, and well trained. The facility itself is always clean and I feel safe going and coming from my donations. The money is an added bonus withnew donors able to collect $800-975 ... Spread out over 8 donations .. well worth your time ... Not to mention the fact that with each donation I am helping someone that needs ... Keep up the good work BioLife ..!!
I have tried to donate seven times. Every time since the first donation, I did there have been multiple problems with the phlebotomist and a bad stick. I've had bad Three bad sticks, which caused bruises in my arm times had bleeding in my arm and a huge hematoma the size of a lime on my arm from a bad stick. Each time I was given a referral, but the phlebotomist received her paycheck regardless for the poor job she did.
Scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance for 1:15 pm. Got there 20 minutes early and was sent to a waiting room. After waiting till about 1:45 pm, and being skipped over a couple times, I was finally seen. Initial questions, then the guy brought me to a chair to do a ?vein test? to make sure there's two veins. This man took all of less than a minute to ?test my veins? and said ?well I only feel one so go home and do some arm curls and drink water, then come back tomorrow.? ? mind you I just delivered a
There has not been a time where the get a good stick on me. I eat enough and drink enough and Needles do not bother me or make me sick, but getting re-stuck and them fishing around in my vein does make me sick. Then the workers blame you for ? not eating or drinking enough?
I jus recently moved back to Louisiana and the help was so kind an the staff are great. Good atmosphere.
All staff encountered were very nice, professional, and courteous. Everything went smoothly. Each person knew their task of what to do and when to do it!!
The center is very nice. The ladies keeps the area very neat and trash free. My sister told me to ask for Trioce because my veins are small. No doubt she's the best. I laugh my entire donation. She's definitely has a cheerful spirit and take proud in her work.
Things have definitely been improving here over the past couple months! It was a long process to get started but Nurses Fetecia and Jill have always been thorough and followed up as they said they would. Manager Richard was very receptive when I voiced my concerns. Destiny and Sintrella are both very skilled and attentive ? much appreciated by those of us who might be more sensitive donors ??. Definitely agree with the previous suggestion to have hand sanitizer at the check-in stations. And please keep i
I absolutely love Jazzmin She is very professional, I barley feel her sticks, nd she always smells good lol ????
Going here was a monumental waste of time. I cleared this with my doctors, but the plasma center wouldn't take me because I have a brain injury event though everything was checked and good. Its so fun to go to a place out of need only to be met with discrimination.
Everyone was very kind and understanding. Jill answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable since it was my first time donating. Will definitely be coming back to this location.
The staff were very kind and very patient through the whole process and they explained to me in detail how everything works since this was my first time donating, they were also very attentive to whatever I needed and whatever questions I had, and also very understanding of my nervousness and they did their best to help calm me down. Overall I really enjoyed my first experience donating plasma, and I'm not so afraid to go back for my second donation ??
Staff is helpful, most are friendly. Place is clean. I donated on 28th in am, it's now 29th and I still haven't been paid. I'm a regular donor and this is first time it's happened. I was told there's a glitch in the system. I'll say!
The best experience ever at biolife in Lafayette! The staff are amazing and are truly proud of their job! I love coming to biolife, especially in the mornings because they make my day, literally! I love the smiles and great welcoming atmosphere.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Safe, calm, and very clean/hygienic building. Everything is cleaned and sterilized between donors. Will definitely continue to go there and recommend others to do the same.
The people there are great awesome customer service makes you feel at home easy to get along with you know some people are nervous when they first get there and they help break that edge and make them feel safe.
Their system is flawed , nobody knows anything on the tech side of things , waste of time . I donated and did physical and now apparently it's not showing I donated in their system . Some staff are nice , but some are horrible and can give a rats azz about a donor .
Spent 6 weeks acquiring the needed documents to satisfy their "concerns" only to be rejected on the last document. Not once did they call me to keep me abreast of the status involving any of the multiple documents and once they informed me of the permanent deferral, all I received was a cold shoulder from their staff nursing members. Biolife only wants the cream of the crop and if there is a possibility of issues arising, your kicked to the curb.
The staff (Jill Tall, paramedic and Sintrella, phlebotomist) at the Lafayette location are amazing! The were a wealth of information and very efficient!!
The environment is Great and the Staff is Awesome.. They are very attentive and made me feel very comfortable considering I was super nervous.. I love helping people and I hope my plasma can assist someone in need.
We were there for opening day and even though the wait was a little long, the staff was very professional and kept us in the loop. Everyone I came across was very kind!! Will definitely be back!
SLOW!! I'm not sure who is writing these reviews, but they aren't at this center. I thought they would be quicker being new. Not worth the money to sit here for hours waiting. Might be clean and new but no service!
Great first experience! Amazing staff! Fetecia and Emily went above and beyond to make sure I knew what to expect every step of the way!
Great experience! Very professional staff! ?T?, the nurse was the bomb! She was very informative, and took her time, explained everything very well!
You guys really need to get staffing straight. 10 folks to check in, 15 waiting for beds and only 3 folks working donations and 2 on check in.... at 530pm on a thursday...
Everyone there is so nice. I've only had great experiences. Make sure that your hydrated and you eat enough Foods the day before and the day of with iron and protein! Hydrate hydrate hydrate
I was deferred on 12/30 from bio life for supposedly testing positive for ATYA. An employee from BioLife told me once I get treated for it, they can work something out for me to start donating again. I called my primary care physician about it, and they re-tested me for ATYA and for antibodies yesterday. I was NEGATIVE for everything including ATYA, I called BioLife to inform them of it, and they are telling me I still can't donate because that's what I was positive for in ?their? lab? this makes ZERO SENSE
2nd time I been here and I have been seen after people who were sat down after me..definitely not happy..one employee actually avoids getting people who have scar tissue and actually told other employees to avoid that person
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
