Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the clean facilities, friendly staff, and smooth donation process, with many highlighting professional and caring technicians. However, several complain about long wait times, inconsistent phlebotomist skills (frequent needle adjustments), and poor communication, especially regarding eligibility or promotions. Payment drops after the promo period frustrate some, while others appreciate the extra income. A few report rude staff or inefficient management, but positive experiences often mention efficient, respectful service. Overall, experiences vary widely based on individual interactions and timing.

In my experience, about 1 in 3 times the phlebotomist will miss the vein. I'm not sure they all understand that veins move and that they need to find it each time instead of just using the previous injection site. They'll use the swab stick each time to prep your arm, but I think they're just going through the motions of it as opposed to actually locating a vein. Usually a supervisor/senior CPT will adjust the needle and it's a few seconds of minor pain as they move the needle around inside your arm. Howeve

I recently donated blood, and unfortunately, the experience was quite distressing. I suspected that the needle was not properly inserted and communicated this concern to the staff, especially as the machine repeatedly malfunctioned. When I inquired with one of the female phlebotomists, she explained that the machine stops sometimes because "the vein falls asleep." However, I pointed out the presence of air bubbles and indicated that the needle was indeed not inserted correctly, as I was bleeding. In respon

Great location with a solid staff. Just keep in mind if it is your first donation expect to be there for around two hours. Please also read the fine print on your coupon, you must donate at the same location for however long you need to complete for appropriate monetary reward. They do not have cash at any locations. It's a clean space, their only downfall is they never answer the phones

This place goes way too slow, they make you book an appointment like as if it would be a fast process but it's not! The lines to do vitals are always long and to get a bed is mostly even longer! The employees constantly are joking and having side conversations that actually seem to distract them and it's very noticeable because it causes them to move even slower, it's kind of frustrating because we're trying to do a good deed but they're insensitive about donors time, instead they'll ask that you arrive ear

Once you finish the orientation and get into the system it is so fast and easy to complete your donation. The orientation was about 2hours however you earn $110 if it's your first time and up to $750 thru your first donation experience over a month or so worth of donations twice a week was what I've done. Promos are often sent to you giving you an opportunity to earn extra cash. The money you earn thru every donation is automatically sent to a visa debit card you receive at orientation. By the time you fini

Welp it happened to me also. I've donated plasma is different cities and states and I've never had this issue before. I don't even blame the workers i blame myself for not taking the reviews seriously even though they have numerous of pictures with arms looking like mines. The first 2 times the process was a breeze the phlebotomist found my vein with ease. This time I had this guy who look like he's of Indian heritage put the needle in and something should?ve told me not to allow him because it seems like t

I went to donate blood today and this is how it went. Got to Samantha she was cool and professional friendly and polite. Then I got to the green area and The girl who poked me was also very cool and friendly, but things happen and somewhere along the way, whether it was from me pumping my fist or whatever I started to get some vibration so I called them over to let them know because that has happened to me in the past and they just adjusted the needle and fixed it. so when Joanna came over to inspect the vi

Nice place and well organized however they are by appointment only. They should fix their website under the FAQ that says they do accept walk-in when in reality they don't.

All the employees are super friendly and courteous. I was reading some of the reviews and I completely disagree. Yes sometimes the lines are long, but they move quickly. I never had to wait long. Maybe I've been going the right days.

The people at the Lakewood establishment are professional and extremely nice. I keep getting email offers for $115 a week as if it's some kind of a benefit. But that is the usual number that I make so there's no difference and no motivation to drive down there. I've got AB negative blood and other organizations would pay out a bit more for it. Sorry, but for your price, I have to say no and move on.

I was at this location yesterday. It all went pretty well! No bruising afterward! I'd like to thank the phlebotomist Kat for her amazing work, very diligent person. I'd be so happy if I could request for her at my next donation. Also, thanks to Diana for explaining in detail a few questions I had regarding the donation process ( I have the curiosity of a five year old, can't stop asking questions ?? ). Genuinely friendly staff, thank you!

I've been a plasma donator for over a decade and I've seen a lot of plasma centers that are dirty and ghetto with staff that is not just unattentive but also uninformed but I have to say this location is by far the worst location I've ever been to. I've had multiple employees mess up my arm to the point I can't donate and have to let my arm heal. I've had them not listen when I say they are messing up my arm. Their employees are rude. On top of they never answer the phone. I've never worked anywhere were n

I have donated 2x so far and plan on continuing to donate here. The staff is great they explained everything in detail from what i needed to know & what the next steps were. They made me feel comfortable & welcomed. I got my debit card the same day as well as my first pay. The app also is very useful so I suggest you download it! I have nothing bad to say because so far everything has went smoothly.

May 26 2 star: I was lucky, I found a May 27 with an opening, but rather late. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow. May 25 1 star: My first time to this location. I had an appointment today, first thing in the morning, about 3 hours before my appt, I got an email notifying, "the center is closed today, I need to reschedule". The only appointment available is 1 month away. If they know they are going to be closed or have an emergency, they should have appts available the same week. I am at the point, I w

I have no idea. I went in for first time donation and the lady who helped me didn't place the tape right on my arm which led the needle to repositioned which led to them having to take it out to put it on other arm. As they did that I began to feel horrible and close to passing out so I took a breather. Another lady ended up placing the needle in my other arm and ended up messing up which then led to her taking it out and poking me again. They ended up just stopping and I just felt more horrible and nauseou

Sometimes this place is great but most times they don't have enough people at the vitals stations and they let the line get a mile long. I have been in this building for almost an hour at some points before they have even taken my vitals. They say it's your hour but it's more like a 2 and a half hour thing every appointment. Just be aware. They also don't take great notes when reactions or RBC loss happens and put random holds on your account that you have to see a nurse for less than 5 minutes and you're f

Place is super annoying. I've been 2 times had to wait months for appointments and still no money or blood drawn. First time I was nervouse and my heart was pumping fast and the girl had me rest for 5 min only and I redid it and my heart was still high. Then she said we usually have people wait 10 min. Then sent me home? second time everything g was good because I relaxed. Go into the physical exam and they say birth control with 3mg is too high and to get a note from my doctor to make sure I don't need est

Nice clean location. Staff and nurses, technicians are all wonderful. The wait time isn't too bad. However, today was training day and newcomers day, so I waited quite long for my 11:50 appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early to sign and it took me one hour to be seated and 20 more to.be set up. I didn't leave there until close to 1:40 pm. It's unexceptable.

I now have been participating with Biolife Plasma Services for four consecutive months and it has made a difference in my life. I have come to believe I am a part of a really needed service and almost all the staff knows me and are really respectful of my needs, Thank you Biolife staff you've become more then just associates to me!

every lady i met that works here was very unwelcomeing and had bad attitudes. also i came in and went through the whole process of being a new donor, for almost 2 hours just for me to sit in the donation chair and them tell me I need 1 big vein on each arm. in my experience at other donation centers like octa and grifols they check your arms first before proceeding with anything so you don't waste you're time. i also already have a donation arm and have never had problems at other donation centers so idk.

Gerry the Bio personnel nurse is very helpful and very professional on giving me information and the steps he was performing before the initial donation start up, I give him 5 stars. Josephine is a very professional person she explained to me about the donation and what to expect in detail 5 Stars for Josephine.

I have been going to Biolife for 8 months, the service is wonderful. Today was the first time the needle was put in my arm without feeling a thing. I was extremely impressed with Valery. Anyone who goes there really needs to have her put in the syringe, absolutely magnificent experience today.

The nurse Alaine at BioLife lakewood did a fantastic job sticking me today and I was only her second stick . Great job I will be requesting her again for sure

This location frequently tries to find new and exciting ways to the absolute bare minimum, even if you are still donating during the promotion period or the when you try and claim a different promotion. When I requested to speak to management, the manager was rude, curt, aggressive and attempted to argue the terms of the promotion was wrong even though I strictly adhered to whatever guidelines were provided. Don't let the ads fool you - the price you are paid to donate plasma (which can pose a long term hea

This business advertises a $725 bonus after your first 8 donations. However, in the fine print, it states that you have to start donating before a certain date and complete all 8 donations within one month, which is IMPOSSIBLE because they don't have enough appointment openings to see you before the offer expires so they will never actually pay out. DON'T WORK WITH THIS EXPLOITIVE BUSINESS! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

This place sucks? first off I was a new donor just trying to see how they operate. I had to leave before I even got to donate. The biggest issue NO CHAIRS now as a person with a disability I was told I should?ve told them ahead of time that I needed a chair. I was coming in as a new donor HOW ON EARTH WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW YALL DONT HAVE CHAIRS?! Anyways another issue there's zero privacy no dividers so when your vitals are being taken everyone can hear your weight and all that. Plus since I was new the gu

Very Helpful Informative management and staff, Nothing but a overall good experience everytime I go donate, Clean environment and atmosphere, If you plan to donate plasma this is the place. Thank you Biolife management and staff there working.

I'm getting tired of being turned away after explaining the medications I'm on. For I explained that I only take my blood pressure meds when I feel I need them. Now I've been there 3 times in less than a month and my blood pressure read fine. Now the first time it was because my pulse was a little high. Then the second time I had a cortisone shot 4 days before I went there. And I did tell the man I had token a blood pressure pill that morning because my appointment was at 445pm. So I was told that's fine bu

Inspiring to see all staff working tirelessly there full potential in order to help people in need by giving them hope for salvation in surviving another day through our plasma. Special thanks to the physicians Gerald, Juel and the rest of them all the nurses do such wonderful work in the field in showing much patience and dedication. Thank you BIOLIFE in Lakewood.

The staff is very friendly. I'm not that fond of needles but they worked with me and made it as quick and painless as possible. I 100% recommend the BioLife center by the Lakewood mall

Love it, Wonderful and professional people that work there, I'm glad that I can donate and help someone, keep up the good work ??

Mia at the front desk needs to train people, she is an expert at awesome customer service give this young lady a raise, she is willing to help, listens and is smiling and has a great attitude, amongst others in the donation center like laurie etc.

Today was my first time at the Lakewood location. (I'm usually in San Diego.) Because of traffic and a map misdirection, I was 10-15 mins late and the computer wouldn't let me do the questionnaire. But I talked to one of the check-in techs and she checked me in! After that, it was the smooth sailing I've come to expect from BioLife. The only other thing to mention is that my spot in the Purple section was pretty cold! Must've been right under an AC vent. But I came prepared and it was only a slight b

Employees are great I just don't like the questions in the physical room I was denied to donate plasma because she miss understand that I had my ear piercings long ago and she said I bearly got them so I had to wait 120 days bulshit it and supervisor wasn't helpful that's not right I don't recommend this place only for money yes

I've been donations here for months. Generally, the staff know what they are doing, although some of them need a little more training before poking people. My main issue is that they do not value your time. The wait to do the check-in and physical tests can be really long, and then when you do get a bed, you can wait upwards of fifteen minutes before they hook you up. The place is not properly staffed. If you know how many people booked an appointment, make sure you have enough staff to cover the capacity.

Absolutely love it here, two visits now. The pay is extremely generous and I was done in 30 minutes each time. Phlebotomists, also great.

Went only twice for the $800 promotion only to find out I can't come back after 8 weeks. I got deffered for their faulty machine. They even had the nerve to say there is nothing they could do and that it was out of their hands. On top of that, their plasma machines are old, and they don't accept walk-ins. It's only by appointment only. The $800 is only for first-time comers. Anywho, hopefully whoever reads this doesn't have the same experience as me.

Well I'm going to give a detailed description I came in with my husband but answer the question wrong so I had to go back to the back to see your nerves the nurse was very rude to me looked at me like I was the wrong color or something and I'm telling you this out the truth of my heart I work with people and she was very biased she told me I smell like marijuana which I don't smoke marijuana the staff works together let my husband Go through again then when I proceeded to say I wanted to make a complaint th

They blew out my left arm twice and then won't take another donation on the bonus offer and delays next appointment as if it's my fault when I explained more than once that my other arm is way more comfortable they keep trying my left first and then try my right arm

Most of the phlebotomists are inexperienced or just outright suck. They'll adjust the needle multiple times and it's the only place I know that does this as much as they do. Not worth the money, and if you absolutely need a few bucks or would like to donate for a cause while having a smooth procedure go to the local Octapharma in Santa Fe Springs if you can. They never miss your vein/readjust the needle. All the phlebotomists there are very experienced and don't play with your arms. The pay is relatively t

It's a much better facility than Octapharma. On my first visit, the front end person forgot to tell the nurse I was ready for my physical, so that led to needless waiting, but overall they make donating easy.

All the staff are very helpful, kind and efficient! I'm always in and out in an hour or less. Everything is clean and visually sanitized often. The donation process is streamlined and easy. My only gripe is I was on vacation and missed my last day of the special promotion pay, and they wouldn't extend it 1 day for me. However, I understand rules are rules for a reason and it wasn't their fault. Still highly impressed with this facility and recommend it to everyone!

After the 8 donations that I made $800. I was under the impression. I was going to get 40 and 85 every time after that. On my app, that's exactly what it said. And it did not pay me out that amount, but because it said that on my app the manager. Had did a $10 override. Because it tried to pay me $75. All I'm saying is I would like to get paid the $85 for the second donation. Griffin's plasma is paying $40 for the first donation and $80 for the second doi. Think I might just go back to Griffith's plasma.

They just seemed organized and good with communication regarding waiting etc. It was my first visit and I I felt safe the whole time!

I am new to plasma donation but I had my first appt in the Pomona location and had a pretty good experience. Unfortunately I could not get behind making the commute when the Lakewood location was 25 mins closer. My appt was at 1:35 and I did not start my donation until almost 3. Two people who came in after me were hooked up and ready to go before they finally made their way to me. The girl was sweet and she tried but I don't think she ever found the vein but continued to poke me and eventually started the

It took 3 hours on my first visit and they had to stick both arms because the first IV was incorrectly inserted into my vein, resulting in blood being returned to me under my skin, resulting in a lot of pain and a large hematoma. Very unprofessional.

Tyson the manager is awesome! Very knowledgeable and professional. The facility is clean and very quick to get people in and out

Location has gotten worse since my last review. Service is constantly going downhill. A nurse deferred me for having an open wound, no bigger than a needle poke. Which is weird, since we get poked once before donating, and the second time when you get plugged in. I explained to her that it was from my birth control removal, done by a Kaiser physician the day before. She insisted that I couldn't donate with a bandage on. I had previously called the location the day before to make sure I could donate, so I w

Such a well managed donation center. The process to get started was simple. I've donated at other centers and had horrible experiences......... long wait times, rude staff and sketchy patients. Finding this place has been such a blessing. I have a smooth donation every time and it doesn't take longer than an hour!

Elaine was very nice respectful & she poke me very professionally didn't feel any pain or problem after the poke

Its a nice clea place... the ppl that Ive talked to there have been very nice... I just think that payments are too low..

I donate blood once a month through American Red Cross and I've been pretty happy with them and then I was informed about BioLife through a volunteer there and he mentioned this monthly promotion from BioLife. The first two donations I made here was pretty normal but chaotic with the amounts of people there. Then, I made an appointment for my third donation and showed up. The front desk then proceeded to tell me they're doing a protein test from my last donation and I'm not allowed to donate this time. I dr

A great place to donate your blood, to me it's very unselfish act that you can do in my opinion. When you donate it gives another person a chance to live or make some new choices in this life. I believe we can have many material things in this life however by donating blood allows another experience for someone to feel, hear or even see love again in their life. For me when I donate blood it gives me positive energy feeling knowing I have helped others in situations that could be an unexpected event or who

Word of Caution: Do not come here, if you take The Bus. It took me all day to get here 3 buses 2 different passes purchased 3 bottles of electrolytes last week came in hydrated have been taking minerals supplements V8 Juice Pineapple Juice eating more protein as recommended online, and they said my blood count was off by 2 points and sent me packing. I waited for more buses well into the night in order to get home, in a scary neighborhood with the fire department police department and helicopters flying

Good service and very friendly staff Respectful and very thorough with explaining answers to all my questions. Facility is also clean and well maintained

My last donation was a bad experience. All donations was smooth except my last donation. Inexperience employe causing FEAR to donate

Came in today as usual to donate my plasma. Money for rent is tight, but this helps me a great deal. Questionnaire was quick, but vitals took some time. After, I get sat down and stuck. Unfortunately nothing comes out. The girl helping me called over her coworker, Nancy. I have seen her many times before helping her coworkers, but never have been stuck by her before. She was excellent. She was quick to readjust my needle without pain, get blood, and make sure I was doing alright. Once she had taken care of

It is a very nice place and clean and worker are great people keep up the good work ?? l will continue to come here.

First off, none of the center's managers are even certified medical professionals (I asked, the manager is not a phlebotomist, a nurse, a physicians assistant, nor is he a doctor), how are they allowed to run a medical facility? Oh, the manager will say it's not a medical facility, it's a donation center - but a donation is still a medical procedure, a needle is being inserted into a human being and blood is being drawn and returned. Tried to speak with a manager about their policies, which do not align wit

Nurses are very kind and respectful. Nurse desi made me feel comfortable during the process and I commend her for her awesome personality ??

The center is clean but not efficient. I have been skipped over a number of times, adding more than an hour to my visit. Time is money. Every second I'm here longer than I need to be ends up costing me money. I spoke to management about it, he told me he would review cameras, but he did not follow up. Today, exactly 1 week later, the same thing happened, where I was skipped again, this time causing me to wait 30 minutes just to be serviced, while people who arrived after me were served before me. The answ

10/10 Enrique is very fantastic at what he does , very informative and before he does anything he lets you know on anything you do he made me feel confident in donating today .

This donation center offers a meticulous place. The employees are all courteous and know their duties. They offer $800 dollars to new donors for the first eight donations. It is a quick process and the machines are brand new. Highly recommend it.

I've been trying to set an appointment by the app. It always says There is no appointments available. I tried to call and there has not been not one answer in four calls I've made.

Everyone was very professional and kind. They worked together like a well oiled machine. Thank you for letting me be of service. I was relaxed and comfortable. God bless you ??

Had a great experience here. Everyone is friendly and attentive. You are explained the process in detail and explained the risks as well. You can't expect to show up and just get paid, you have to stay hydrated and eat well to give yourself the best opportunity for a successful donation. I appreciate the hard work of the staff.

Amazing people are so nice they are very careful with everything they do make sure you are comfortable A++

This place is sucks. The people work at this location are very rude. They think they are doing a favor for the donors. Always long lines because they do work so slow and they are not happy at all with what they are doing. Avoid this place

I was greeted with kindness and respect by the staff and they were very informative and helpful. They also gave very clear instructions on the process and also expressed the importance of always feeling confident about my donation. They also gave me various opportunities to withdraw from my decision through out the process and it made me feel confident that my donation was valued. The facility was also very clean and well organized which made it easy to navigate through.

I was told that I would get $120 for two donations. But I got poked in both arms and now I have bruises on both arms. I won't be able to donate until the bruises go away. That leaves me without the $80 for the next donation. You need to teach your staff what to do and not to do.

The place is clean. The people are really nice and helpful. I wasn't waiting along time. I was able to donate in peace!

I like that you can schedule an appointment and that the facility is very clean. However, there is still a wait of approx. 15 mins to get screened and depending on how many are in line there is another wait to get a bed. Once stuck the process goes fast. There is a delay to be DCd which is not good since many times the coldness gets the patient wanting to use the restroom right away. With all donations the bandage was put on way too tight, leaving marks on the arms upon removal. Also there are no seat cover

This was a waste of my time and gas .I received no compensation for my wasting time. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because of the nice person who took my vitals ( I don't remember her name). I you have diabetes, prepare to waste time. You need a consent form your doctor. Which if at check in they would have given me .I could have gladly taken and came back another day. It's not like I hid my condition.

I'd give it five stars if the payments for regular donors remained the same amount after the 'promo' period. Instead it drops to almost half the original amount, making it not worth the drive and hassle to get to Lakewood. The staff are really professional though with a special shout-out to Raul who's always got a terrific attitude and is great with the needle.

Very poor service. At first they were good but the more people they hired the more slower and lazier they have became. The employees stay chatting. Some u can tell have no experience and poke u wrong. Or look nervous to insert the needle. And if they aren't experienced enough and can't find ur vein they won't let u proceed but yet they make u go threw the whole process. And even if your veins r popping theybstill can't aim. ????

I just called the Lakewood location and the person answering the phones ?Crystal? is extremely rude. My first two calls she didn't even day hello but put my call on hold for 5 min. When I called the third time she admitted that it was her and gave me her name and when I suggested that she might say she's busy to the caller and let them know she needs to place them on hold she hung up on me. I work in customer service and have for 15 years. How is this acceptable behavior for someone representing your compan

Super clean, nice staff and sometimes they have good music. They should think about getting a TV because all u can do is be on your phone while donating(not really healthy). It gets cold so bring a jacket or blanket. Overall is a chill spot to donate. Could pay more tho after first time promo.

I decided to donate for the new donor's incentive. This location is new, and thus so is everyone who is working here. Prepare to be part of their "on-the-job" training program. It seems like a fair trade at first, an hour or two of your time for approximately $100 in compensation. The reality is that it takes a lot longer than an hour or two of our time (typically). First, you have to factor in the screening process. My initial screening took nearly 3+ hours and then I was deferred because I had received

My first time took a little longer than my second time because of the required physical to donate. The only negative thing was scheduling my first donation/physical for an earlier date. I had to wait about 4 weeks originally from the day I first tried scheduling the appointment. Maybe the number of nurses were limited so all the new donor time slots were taken, but I kept checking for any sooner available appointments and was able to cut it down to about 3 weeks. I was learning the process and everyone was

I have donated four times so far. The employee's are all very nice and polite. The whole process is really very simple to donate. I definitely do recommend it to any one that needs some extra money.

I can't speak for any other location, due to never having been anywhere but the Lakewood location, but what I can say, is that the Lakewood location is a first class place, with a very professional staff, that will always greet you with a smile, an answer to any question and a level of professionalism that any other business could learn from!! If you are planning on becoming a donor and you want to go to a very clean, friendly and professional environment, I would highly recommend giving Lakewood a try!

I can really appreciate how clean this place is. My favorite part is that they can find my veins so easily. My veins are pretty much hard to spot and they are so smooth and quick. Their staff is the sweetest and I personally feel like they care. Definitely would recommend this place. Donate here to help save lives!

The process was fairly quick for a first visit. There was plenty of info online so I knew what to expect. Card was loaded immediately. And this was one of few times a needle jab didn't leave a bruise. Great job on that for sure!

The BioLife center I come to Donate in the city of Lakewood is very clean and also the center employees here are super cool so far I've always had a great experience coming to donate at this center.

All went well I had no problems or reactions!

Horrible experience. They poked me one day and left a bruise, took my blood and didn't pay me. And then when I return, I couldn't donate because of the bruise that they're employee caused.

Not sure what that other guy giving a bad review is talking about. But I had a great experience, and definitely will be back. Big thumbs up to everyone working that day from the front desk to the phlebotomists, but especially to Mya who was very well trained and made sure I was good at all times during the process while donating. Process was pretty quick, and the people I came in contact with communicated well, and I also noticed that they communicated with each other well and showed really good teamwork. W

Gerry was wonderful make sure I understood everything. Nice work team keep it up ????the whole staff is amazing
