I'm not usually someone who leaves negative reviews, but this was an extreme case. If I could give -100 stars, I would. To summarize: during my second donation (which took over 2 hours despite arriving on time for my appointment), I received the worst and most painful bruise I've ever had, due to what was clearly poor practice?the staff clearly lacks experience inserting needles. As a first-time donor, I was supposed to receive a $750 bonus distributed across 8 donations within a month. Because of the bru
I set an appointment for 2:40. It is now 3:47 and I haven't even talked to a single employee. What is the point of being by appointment if they are going to completely disregard your time?
I recently donated plasma for the first time, and I had an excellent experience at your center. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional, walking me through each step of the process and ensuring I was comfortable throughout. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which really put me at ease. The facility was spotlessly clean, and the technology used was impressive and advanced. I felt great during and after the donation with no issues at all. I appreciate the excellent service, an
I have been going to this location on and off over ten years. A couple years ago I noticed a lack of sense of urgency and staffing. Fast forward to this past month. NOTHING has changed. Lack of properly trained management and managing the proper usage of your employees so that the flow of customers is steady. For example, they have about 7 screening stations and I have only ever seen 3 employees man them at anyone time. Although, most of the time, there is only ONE employee screening, therefore you wa
I scheduled my appointment for right after I got off of work. The staff were attentive and professional. They were happy to answer any questions that I had. It was my first time donating and at all times it felt like the safety of the donors was their foremost concern. The Layton staff really made me feel like I was doing a service to the community and I appreciate that.
Staff is rude constantly (Heather, Josh and another lady are amazing though) and they never have enough staff. They have blown my veins multiple times. When you ask for a senior phlebotomist or ask them to stop they don't listen. The nurse didn't show up last week and I was only (reluctantly) offered a quick pass to cut the line on my next donation after having to stand outside for over 1 1/2 hours. I would not recommend this place.
Terrible experience ? don't do it. They gave me the worst hematoma of my life on my second session after I waited in line for three hours. I couldn't move my arm for two weeks, and then they denied me for the rest of my sessions because the bruise they caused was too severe. They wouldn't even compensate for the damage by extending my new donor period. The best part? When I told them my skin had bubbled and I was in a lot of pain, instead of redrawing, they just pulled the needle out a little bit and contin
I'm extremely frustrated with my recent experience. After waiting for three and a half hours, I'm fed up with the whole process. What's the point of donating if it's going to be such a hassle? The fact that we have to schedule appointments, only to still be forced to stand in line for over 2 hours, is absolutely ridiculous. It's clear that they are overscheduling and don't care about the inconvenience it causes to donors. As a result, I've decided that I'm no longer going to donate. The lack of respect for
I had an appointment at 7:40am and didn't get hooked up until 8:25am. Thank you for the help but I'm going back to Grifols. Way faster donation process. Plus you can do the questions on your phone an hr prior if you going in. No appointments needed when you feel dizzy after donating they don't offer you Powerade or Gatorade. They say there's a drinking fountain right there.
Everyone is nice! There has only been one staff member who is pretty rude to me and others. I don't want to name names in who it is but I hi I it would be more pleasant if she would be nice if another person is being nice to her
If I could give 0 stars I would. The staff is nice and that's about it. I went on March 7 for my first donation. It took 4 HOURS to get set up, do the physical and do my first donation and get a blood sample. Following the donation I was told to sit and wait for 15 minutes to make sure I didn't have a reaction. I was also NOT given an electrolyte drink and snack like other patients were given. At this location they offer fast passes to skip the line but you must use it in your first 14 days from your first
I've donated here for a few years, there are many friendly workers, however this location is managed horribly. Appointments routinely go above 2 hours, but steps are never taken to fix the issue regardless of the amount of donors complaining. I'd recommend going to Grifols plasma, they are much faster.
Walk in at 12:50 appt time on a Wed and turned around and left! The line was wrapped around to the check in computers with 2 screeners and a wait even for new donors to be screened which means at this place those new donors will be put in front of the line making it even longer. Great staff but piss poor management! Cut your time slots when you're understaffed! Ridiculous. UPDATE 5/23/25- came in for a 1230p appt and the line was rapped all the way around again, about 5 new donors and 1 screener with anoth
Very unsatisfied. They do not sanitize their products. Good enough, and they do not Swap gloves per patient putting s risk for bloodborne illness. They do not care if they swap blood with any patient. They are very unclean, unsanitary and disgusting, and their rules don't make any sense and nobody seems to know the rules accurately. They cannot keep any of their rules straight. And they won't even let you donate if you have allergies, because it's a considered a risk somehow. How can you own an operation? W
This place is a joke. You go in there it takes forever. The service sucks. The have a Hispanic lady in there that's not that good at her job. Can't stick you right for some reason. I told her ma?am it hurts it's not suppose to hurt. She laughs smiles walks away. So another lady walks up and I ask hey that lady does she speak English well. I told her it hurts she laughs smiles and walks away. She jumps all over me about it. It was a simple question. Then claims I'm racist. Then the ban you. I'm sorry. That w
The wait in this location is the worst compared to other locations. Just one nurse, and she takes like 30 minutes with one patient while there is a line of people waiting for her. There are times they have just half of the beds open while there is a long line. Personally, I recommend the Riverton location, tha issue is the distance.
New donor, second visit. Appointment was at 9 arrived 10 min early, left at 10. I waited an hour to get my finger poked etc. there was only 1 person working in that section, only knows how many actually working in the back. From what I could tell there was a line in the back also. They really need to have more staff, also chairs for people to sit while waiting for hours to donate. At least at biomat they have chairs for their customers.
Techs were awesome, however the whole check in screening process is a joke. Why make me schedule an appointment when I still wait up to an hour plus before I get a bed? Not sure I will be back unless the process is improved. I enjoy donating and the money is nice, but not sure it is worth. I can donate blood a whole lot faster and am still helping to improve and save lives. Have not improved wait times/lines at all. Line extends to check in computers only one tech screening people is ridiculous From appt
Don't go here, I was Deferred for ?plasma hopping? even though my old donation center told me to just go in and sign up and I'll be good to go, dead wrong! Got a deferral for every donation place so even if I wanted to go back to my old donation center I couldn't. Then when I returned I got deferred again for being pregnant less than 6 months ago even though everywhere else I have gone couldn't care less, oh and you WILL not be getting your $100 on your first visit. I would also like to mention that everyti
My appointment was at 2:45, I got here early at 2:35, it's 4:30 and I'm still not hooked up. They have 21 people in the hidden line around the corner waiting to be hooked up and even more in the line up front. There are tons of empty beds and they are all walking slow, talking, taking their time it's insane. They are WAY overbooking appointments, it's taking hours and each time I come it's getting worse. Half of all the beds are empty. I've had to walk out of 2 of my last 5 appointments because I'll wait a
If I could 0 stars I would, I'm really frustrated, I can one a Thursday afternoon about 1 and am writing this review 3 hours later at 4 and they haven't taken a drop of my blood. They are incredibly understaffed and have over half of the facility closed down for no reason. There are less people here than normal yet this is the longest I've waited. Awful
service is awful and workers are rude. turned me down for being 1 minute late when i checked my phone i was 2 minutes early. today i was turned down for leaving the building to grab something out of my car for less than 1 minute. super slow and employees are just downright rude. they didn't tell me i couldn't leave the building so i had no idea. do not recommend! find a different plasma services center, this one is not worth it!!
Saw a promotion online and wanted to help. Never done plasma donation before, drove an hour in traffic to arrive and be told as a first time donator I had to go to a different location. Wasted two commuting hours on a weekday morning. Extra star because the staff were friendly and location seemed clean and organized.
This location is the worse. If they would just find a way to streamline the check in and screening this location would be much better. I donate at Grifols from time to time and the check in and screening takes literally less than 10 minutes. Everytime I come hear I have to block out at least two hours of my day, and I donate during my two off days, this is seriously frustrating and judging past reviews it doesn't seem like anything has been done to solve or fix the issues.
I was nervous my first time, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Shout out to Joe for helping me when I felt a bit light headed. He was kind and understanding.
I have never donated before and I thought it would be a smart idea for me to get extra money to come up with my rent so I thought this would be the easy way Rather than getting another job. They had a promo going on that was paying pretty decent my first time I went I had to get a doctors note saying that my previous medical condition I no longer have so I had to wait to donate then I got it approved.. Went for my first donationI was there for about three hours Everything went well they monitor you to make
The staff always does an amazing job but they are always so short staffed! The wait is ridiculous and we are standing on hard tile for at least an hour and a half waiting. If upper management can't cut appointments while staff is low than at least put some chairs or benches in.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Phlebotomist are really great. It can get backed up and take longer than usual, but it's better than grifol. Biolife has the most up to date and best machines you can get. Super fast and don't break down like at Grifols which leads to hand pumping. I actually started feeling sweaty towards the end and they gave me ice packs and started an iv. I felt better so fast. Thank you! Also afterwards they gave me a Gatorade and some goldfish crackers which helped a ton. They
I've tried to be patient but the wait times are consistently super high. It sometimes takes around 3 hours for a full donation which is just too long. I don't blame the employees necessarily, I just think they are understaffed or poorly managed.
The screening line is brutal. There are never more than 2 screener working at a time. New people are constantly cutting in so you think there are only 4 people in front of you but there's really 6-7 because everyone cuts in, and the whole time you're standing in line like you're at Disney. Griffols at least had seats and they call your name. Update: the last two visits the screening line had been horrendous. Last time 35 people (I counted them). And today 27. That's an hour plus just for screening. I do
I started using this location after 4 years of not donating, at first it was pretty good, the first 4 donations, i did a review describing my most recent experience. And since then, they have denied me services to do donations. This same exact thing happened to me at the other locations as long as I did not write a review. Everything seemed to be okay but if there was a day where I was there for over four hours, it was not a good experience. That is when I started to experience denials. These people have n
Overall a clean center with mostly friendly staff. Some of the staff aren't good at all. The biggest issue is wait times. They are infuriating. This center WAY overbooks appointments and doesn't have the staff to fill them. Half the beds are always empty yet there are always 10+ people waiting in multiple lines. It's often an hour+ before you're even in a bed, let alone donating. I get short staffing, but don't make appointments like you're fully staffed then. It's a joke. Update: please don't go here. It?
What a waste of time. The nurse there told me I needed to get a permission slip fax from my neurologist stating that my epilepsy does not cause seizures when I have blood drawn. It took me 3 months to get this fax sent over. During that time I left at least 10 voicemails asking for advice and or assistance. Not one call back. I finally got touch with BioLife after the fax was finally received and they said that unfortunately I need to completely be off of my epilepsy medication in order to donate blood. (no
Staff is great. The wait time is getting rough though. Sometimes it takes 3-4hours from start to finish.
I cannot understand why, when you have multiple people in line for the assessment, why you have workers standing around visiting. I'm here with 9 people in line for vitals and one person doing intake. Two voting at from counter. Also the amount of time you wait to be hooked up or unhooked is ridiculous, often adding 20 min to your donation time for no reason.
My experience with the people here has been good. The nurses and staff are very friendly. But what's the point of an "appointment" if you have to wait in line for 2+ hrs? ...and that's not including the time to actually give plasma. I'm sorry but I don't have 3+ hrs to spend here when it should only take 1. Like other reviews have said, it looks like they could double or triple their output with more staff. Very disappointing.
I'm not too happy with my 3 visits to the BioLife center. Only one of the 3 went smoothly. When you have hematoma's 2 out of the 3 visits then it's not something you want to do again. I've looked a little bit online to see if what causes a hematoma and it may be due to the fact they inject the needle too far and it pierces the back side of the vein. The first time i had this happen (first visit) I'm not sure it was the technichians fault but the last time I went in I know it was. If Biolife wants to imp
They never have enough staff working here. The wait times are crazy everytime I come here. They allow way to many people to donate with the staff that they have. Do not come here unless you're okay waiting 3 plus hours.
The Layton location has the most kindest people I find anywhere. I can have a rotten day at work and your staff always pick me up. You need to especially give Kelcey, Paige, Joe, and Danika a raise.
It was much easier to donate than I thought it would be. The guy who took my donation was actually the manager and he was awesome. I am not going to have trouble going back for my golf and motorcycle money.
=>=> KNOW YOUR WORTH! ASK FOR MORE MONEY! <=<= I was told by the manager at this place that they sell my plasma for $400.00 a bag. Which means when they pay you $40 they are only giving you $0.04 so stand in line for 3-4hrs and then leave you attached to a machine for another 15 mins after you finish donating. When the manager told be the dollar amount I was shocked and said the @media should know about this! They kicked me out! I didn't sign anything that says this would be a breach of contract if I mentio
Lately it has been one problem after another with biolife. The workers are (almost) always friendly, but the company keeps their locations criminally understaffed. I imagine that's why I kept having issues with my donations that I never had before and now I have lost sufficient blood that I can't return for two months, cutting off a steady source of second income used for groceries. On top of that, the understaffing has resulted in some ridiculous wait times, sometime it is as much as two hours before you a
They were all very nice and made me feel like i was in the right hands, for the first visit they made sure everything went well so they gave me a protein shake, jerky, and Powerade so my body could handle it.
I don't understand all the bad reviews. Yeah, times have a been a little busier during the busy season, but you get there early enough, you're usually in and out within an hour and a half. The Staff have always been really nice and you can tell they work really hard. Always a good experience for me there.
Terrible experience, waited 3 hours past my appointment just to sit down. 8 people skipped the line. Spent 5 hrs the time before. Rude and inexperienced all of them.
Been going for over 10 years. Never had a problem with this place, love the staff, super friendly, clean environment. It also feels good helping people with immune disorders (like ironmouse) Though it appears they have nearly half the staff they used to and they are training so much right now that the wait time can hit 3 hours in the afternoons. I really wish they'd just limit the appointment capacity for those times appropriately to allow for the burden on their staff without wasting as many people's time.
I've been coming to Biolife in Layton for almost 8 years now, and it's shocking how much the place has declined. The wait times are absolutely insane?sometimes over 3 hours just to donate. Lately, I've walked in, seen how busy it is, and walked right out. On some days, I've even seen handfuls of people leave with me because the wait times are just that crazy. The worst part is that they're operating at a fraction of their former capacity. I remember when nearly all the beds were in use and donations flowed
Very long lines and wait times, they seem short staffed and you often wait a while, but everyone?s really nice :)
Bio life is such a joke they've made me reschedule my appointment twice because I haven't had food to eat within their time frame after making me sit and wait to talk to someone for two hours. I get businesses get busy but what's the point of making an appointment if I have to sit there for hours to even talk to someone?
For the most part I have a pleasant experience. My only complaint is the waiting in line. Last week when I donated on Wednesday, I waited in line for 2 hours before I actually got to donate.
Charged my account a fee just to hold the money and then locked me out of my card account when I tried to withdraw. Never going to a BLP location again.
Very friendly staff, smooth process very professional and attentive. They play amazing music in the building as well!
2 to 3 hour wait times common. Ultimately 4 hours for $70 or $45 on week 2. Constantly understaffed, no sense of urgency from the staff that is here. Would never do this for charity and is almost too much of a waste of time to do for money either. Try somewhere else or come early morning. Do not recommend.
Been coming for 9 years. It's a complete JOKE this year. I feel so bad for the employees that actually try to hustle and help. Half of them though are moving like slugs. No urgency whatsoever.. Waiting 2 plus hours STANDING in line is not pleasant. I think people would not be so annoyed if it wasn't standing and so hot. Why are only 2 sections open when there's 30 people waiting for beds, and 4 supervisors walking a round talking and laughing.. like drop everything you're doing and help for 30 minutes to he
With wait times being over two hours plus the saline shortage to add time. I don't think it's right that you guys are putting other people in front of the people who have been waiting for over two hours. You need to either cut available slots for days or get more staff and keep them. When you add 1,2,3 people in front of other people who have been waiting this adds an extra 20-30 min wait just to get a bed. Edit: Don't bother coming here the director only cares about how many people he can get in the door
This place is awesome. Other donation places make me feel like I'm walking in a clinic. This one has an open feel to it. The staff at other places are not so friendly these people are very friendly. I definitely would recommend BioLife for sure. It was easy and fast to sign up. I have never had any issues with the payments there and they go on very quickly.
Real talk?donating plasma ain?t just about the cash. Yeah, we do it to survive, but what we're really doing is giving somebody else a shot at life. That bag you fill? That's medicine, that's hope, that's somebody?s second chance. It's hustle with heart. Pain in your arm, power in your purpose. This ain?t charity?it's straight-up hero work.
The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the staff are always so friendly and in good moods. So far every time I have come here the entire process is almost 3 hours long. I'm not sure how the appointment service is set up but it doesn't curb the wait time at all. Additionally, with me just getting off work most days I donate the last thing I wanna do is just be standing around forever. I'm not entirely sure the reason behind chair removal in most centers but if I'm waiting hours I'd like to take a seat.
The compensation needs to make more sense. I am not sure it is worth it. Pay should be based on the amount donated. And $100 per donation should be totally possible. It seems that every month the amount you can make is decreased, not to mention I get paid less than people that are smaller than me and donate less. Again, pay should be based off the amount donated, and it should be consistent instead of $30-40 for your first donation of the week and $60-75 for your second. This makes it so that if you cannot
the pay sucks. the receptionist was an over worked phlebotomist. very lovely staff, but just all a waste of my time. 35 bucks for a giant bag of plasma. In this economy? ridiculous.
I liked the staff the only thing I would change would be, the appointment process. If it were more like a dr appointment. That would speed up the visit for sure.
This place has gone way down in production! Three hours minimum is a ridiculous time to finish a donation. They have no clue how to schedule donors. It takes over an hour to even get your vitals checked because they have only one person screening with a line of 20+ people and new donor after new donor cuts the front of the line! You then go stand in a line to get a bed! Then you wait forever to get hooked up because one worker is over several people. This place used to run so smoothly and efficiently.
Tech was in a hurry because it was close to closing and kept adjusting the needle which caused caused the tube to leak part way in to the process and a ton of pain. Ruined my clothes and didnt get paid because i wanted to leave after that. Also cant return for 2 months even of i wanted to. This place is a joke
The staff are very friendly and good at what they do. But they are very understaffed and have been for a few years now. Donations take around 2 hours with most of that time waiting in line. There are 8 sections of beds in the facility but they will only use 4 or 5 of them. And just this week they bumped up how much plasma they take by about 12 percent. I used to give 835 mL but today was 937. The two people next to me were giving a whopping 1100 mL. So it not only takes longer but if you're like me and have
I am begging you, just go to Biomat or CSL. There is zero patient privacy while they take your vitals. It took me two hours to have my vitals taken and another 30 minutes to get into a bed. When I asked about the amount of time it took they said two hours is a good day. When I left i counted 33 people in line. Biomat and CSL have always been able to get me into a chair within twenty minutes of arriving. If you have to drive 45 minutes each way to get to a Biomat or CSL it will be faster than coming here.
First 3 donations were pretty good. Simple and easy. 4th was a disaster. Dude told me he was about to go home for the day and then stuck the needle in my arm and started fishing around. Couldn't find anything so he asked for help and then left. Needed to donate from my other arm. Then their machine malfunctioned 5 times so I was stuck waiting until they fixed it. Makes me hesitant to come back. Update: lost two more stars. You think things would have gotten better, but today I was just told I can't donate
This business practice should be outlawed. To pay me $40 for one donation and then pay me $95 for the second donation in one week, is like a slap in the face. It is the ultimate manipulation of people who are struggling financially. There's no reason why I shouldn't get $95 every time I go in and donate. Their tactics are that of a predator. You gotta come back a second time to get that $95. Offer only lasts one week. But you get the same offer next week so if you can't make it to your second donation you'r
not that what i say will make a difference but this place is understaffed & it shows, they will book 10+ people for the same appointment time when it should be more like 3-5 people per appointment given the lack of staff they have. it took me 3+ hours to finish the whole process. when i was done donating i was still hooked up for 40 mins before someone unhooked me. i know the process normally takes awhile, but the max amount of time i?ve spent here is 2 hours. it's never been this bad. i got to my appointme
The staff here is usually awesome, super friendly despite being busy and understaffed. However the female intake tech with glasses and a five-o'clock shadow beard was extremely rude today. She didn't like that her scanner wasn't working, continued the whole intake process in silence and then very curtly told me to "go stand in line." I watched her process 4 other people being friendly and talkative. Not the best experience.
Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible company. DO NOT EVER COME HERE!!!!!! The nurse was very mean and not helpful!! The most inexperienced staff I have ever seen! They have no clue what there doing! Also they Suck at poking you. You're more than likely going to be in so much pain from the stick because they can't do it right!! Plan on being here for hours upon hours too because they have no staff and they tend to be slow!
I've had good experiences both times I've gone so far. Definitely a relaxed environment.
Horrible and worse time management out of any plasma center took me over an hour and a half just to be seated then another 30 min to get hooked up to the machine I dread coming to this location every week worse way to spend my days off and the time I spend here is even worth the little money they give
My first time here at the layton biolife plasma service and the atmosphere and Energy was great and the staff was even better. Need some extra starbucks money come on in and make sure you put me down as a referral. ;->
Well organized and has an excellent app and lots of available information that helped me in the process of donating plasma.
I was turned away because I had tattoos, which is fine, but they need to make it clear that people with tattoos too close to veins are not qualified to donate, so they don't waste their time. The only information they have in regards to tattoos and eligibility is if it's 4 months old, done outside the the US, or the kinds of tools were used.
I think a few employees are pretty nice but there's a couple who are so uptight and treat people like children. I get they don't get paid a ton but I mean most people are coming in their bc theyre in hard situations and the fact that they are so cold on a consistent basis makes me not want to come back
I've been donating here for many years, and my experience has been largely positive- up until the last few months. There seems to be many factors contributing to the less than ideal state. Dwindling numbers of employees, higher numbers of appointments available- leading to much longer wait times, often exceeding 2 hours just for screening. Having an appointment last more than 3 hours on a regular basis is frustrating- especially when the $ amounts they are offering are also declining. I sure hope this gets
I wouldn't tell them you have any "mental disorder" or they will make you get a note from your therapist/doctor saying you are "mentally stable enough to donate" ..... It's bull.
Drove 30 minutes to this location as they were offering the best new donor bonus, sat in the waiting room for an hour, only to be turned away because there was a location half a mile closer to my home address, in the wrong direction. Management was a joke and said this was my problem and they don't know why it is not advertised as such. DO NOT GO HERE!
They are VERY understaffed. They are working so hard BUT last week I was there for 3 HOURS and 50 Minutes! That's almost FOUR HOURS for a half hour donation. :( AND On 10/8/24 I was there for THREE HOURS & 35 MINUTES. That's ridiculous. IT'S NOT THE WORKERS' FAULT; IT'S YOUR COMPANY'S FOR NOT GIVING THEM THE SUPPORT STAFF THEY NEED. I used to donate here 6 years ago and I was never there for more than 1 1/2 hours tops. Usually an hour. My son worked at Grifols 2 years ago for medical hours for about a
This location of BioLife is either way understaffed or they have a management issue! Last time I donated, which will be my last time, I waited four hours. Something at your facility needs to change. I had the $800 for eight visits?I can't believe anyone would wait if they were getting less. My advise?wait till they get their manpower or management issue fixed before you donate there. I won't be going back until something changes.
The front desk lady Leann is a mean, difficult person but besides her I have had a great experience
The lady next to me had an issue and there was some blood to clean up. I witnessed an employee clean her arm with Clorox Bleach Germicidal Cleaner. I asked ?wait don't you use hydrogen peroxide or anything like that to clean her skin.? He said ?no, this is all we have to clean up blood.? I am kicking myself for not intervening more after looking up the instructions of this product. It is a corrosive! The rest of the employees have been great but this feedback still needs to be heard.
Always always always has a mile long line just to get the screening done. Then plan on another 30-40 minute wait for a bed. After you finally sit down, plan on waiting 10-20 minutes for a worker to get you connected. Oh and another 10-15 minutes waiting on a worker to disconnect you when complete. Obviously overbooking appointment time slots for how many employees they have on shift. Reaching the point where the time spent here isn't worth the compensation.
Was really happy with my visit. There is a bit of wait is why I don't give it five stars but that is the only reason. Everyone does there job and very professional.
Your lines are extremely unbearable. I'm thinking thete must be manager issues that you can't keep employees and are always training new..leaving you shorthanded. Both days this week Mon & Weds were long waits to get vitals & then in a chair too. You have a big facility and only a portion of it is being used for donors. You obviously are having too many donors for the times and definitely do not have the staff to take care if us efficiently. Maybe go way down on your numbers so you won't have unhappy donors
Went to Ogden Utah center today for a 9:50 appt. Got screened within 5 minutes, then sat in a waiting line for 45 minutes. Still had 10 people ahead of me. Decided not to wait and donate. They only had 3 sections open. My friend stayed in line and told me he finally got a bed an hour and a half after her appt.
Very nice employees but had to wait a lot of hours just to not donate. :)
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
