It was my first time ever trying to do this and it was over all a good experience but if you have other health issues you probably should not try to do this and there website doesn't say anything about this but it should. The people were really helpful and amazing. I like the whole process and experience from my experience. They were very helpful and nice. They treated you with respect and kindness.
It was alot easier than my original assumption, Although It was longer than expected, which can be attributed to me having to get my physical aswell. The physical process was easy, quick and lessened my anxiety for the actual donation. The Actual donation process was comfortable, it didnt take nowhere near as long as I thought, the needle insertion was almost completely unnoticeable, as in you can BARELY feel it. The nurses made me feel very welcomed and comfortable throught the entire process. At any point
Everyone at the facility in Lima, OH is friendly and considerate. Most of the staff members that I have dealt with have told me that they also donate. This really comforts me because they would know how we feel coming in to donate if they have done it too.
The staff is so sweet. They saved this review. The scheduling is flawed. I scheduled an appointment and drove the hour to only to be told I couldn't donate that day. I do not understand why the site let me schedule when I could not donate. The doctor was supposed to give me clearance for a reaction. This was not done due to the doctor being busy, which is understandable, but then the system should not have allowed me to schedule an appointment. The nurse had told me I should receive a call if I was going t
Maggie is amazing! Rarely do I ever even feel the stick when she does it. Between her skill, leadership, personality and smile, she is always one of my favorites!!
The staff is really friendly and do their best to make sure you're comfortable. I've only ever had good experiences here. I recommend having Trisha poke you (put in your IV), out of all the times I've been here she has done it the best, didn't hurt or sting. I love doing what I can to help others and they make it easy to do so.
There was not enough help. Waited over an hr just to get started. People complaining about not getting their breaks. Some of the staff was working efficiently and others did only what they needed to do because they were upset. This is the first time I've seen this when I've donated. Honestly I almost left.
When I walked in I immediately was able to sign in on the computer and did the questionnaire . I did have about a 10 minute wait in line to get checked in . Once back in the chair it was fast and easy . The tech was friendly and easy to talk with , he answered questions I had and was gentle with the needle . I recommend Bio Life to everyone.
Great employees here! Friendly and really care about donors! Trisha was especially friendly today and the needle stick was probably the best I have had. Barely knew she stuck me! And to top it off, I was so impressed with her communication skills with donors and staff! 1.24.25 Two employees were outstanding this week! I was a bit discouraged that my iron number was out of range one night. Doran was great in supporting me and encouraging when I returned the next day and my number was better. Heather helpe
This place makes it next to impossible to be a humanitarian. They require a list of documents that most of which they won't take. I had 3 forms of id 3 forms of residency, and 3 forms of citizenship. Because my DL was 2 expired, they wouldn't take the other 2 forms. This place is a joke.ignore their reply, their email doesn't work.
went in for a donation, 7am, 17 degrees F bitter cold. was informed I could not give or take Spee test. Was not given courtesy call. Wasn't able to take Spee test till Monday due to time constraints. Three week delays now in giving. I understand the constraints from a medical standpoint. But no one can tell me what dietary fix is required, merely a general excuse. I can't fix the problem if I don't know what it is. Very unprofessional. Great staff, but somebody missed a courtesy call even an auto gene
Lyndsey did a great job with my donation on Friday....I am a double red and not easy to complete. Also DaLisa on Monday was wonderful also. Thanks for all the great staff::))
Place under my app said they were opened until 8 pm, I had a appointment scheduled for 7:30 pm., and the place wouldn't let me donate, what a freaking joke, and it gives you a 5 to 10 minute window and I was only 5 minutes late! I would never recommend this place to know one,.on top of that I drove over an hour away to come to the spot to donate. Place is a joke! Don't come to this place
it was only my second time ever donating and they stabbed through both of my veins blowing them both and causing me pain and discomfort then they just sent me out the door
Well trained staff, always courteous and friendly. Quick to answer questions and explain concerns.
I've only ever been to the Lima location, so this only applies to that center. Normally, I have ok experiences at Biolife, rarely do I ever see many of the same people for more than a month. Granted, my donations are infrequent, so I can go a week or two, then not go for a week or so. But most times, they're unfriendly;either cold and indifferent or fake nice, where you can tell they don't like you for whatever reason. One experience was at check-in. A male working there had me sit down, i went to scan my
I've not had good experiences here. They are not educated, but if they are they do now know how to explain things to patients. Today they called saying I can't donate for a week so I naturally asked why. They said that I had to get my extra blood drawn since it wasn't drawn last time. She then changed the reason saying it WAS drawn but the results were not within range. However, they also checked my protein before the donation and said it was within range. When I asked for an explanation they just said "the
Let's be real you guys are getting off on us. We need money and sell plasma to you but you guys mark the price down so much we aren't making half as much as we used to. But the price of plasma, and everything else in the world has 2x. I would like for you to stop scamming us and pay us properly. Now on top of all that you got workers getting other workers off the donation machine instead of going in order of when people were sitting. This is bull......
Well my last experience was horrible. Word to the wise make sure you are fully hydrated. I came maybe 2 seconds of passing out. My blood pressure was 60/30. The staff were amazing. They took such good care of me. I was back to normal almost right away. Then the next day they called to see how I was doing. I was great. That meant a lot.
I've been coming for over 7 years and it's turned into a bond with each and every one of the employees.
I have been very pleased with going to Biolife. It is relatively quick and easy. Every staff member is friendly and efficient.
It is great the people were nice and gentle just wish the money that they paid you would stay at $500 a month instead of fluctuating to make it worth my time riding an hour to facility but other than that it's great ??
great clean facility. very friendly. Trisha is absolutely amazing! so friendly and great conversation, never have any issues. Also Nurse Leah is so nice! very comfortable to talk to and she explains everything so it's so easy to understand! highly recommend!
The only place I know where you get less money the longer you donate. Go from 115 a week to 105 a week and no promotional codes. Not satisfied
Very clean facility. Everyone is always so nice, my first time donating a tech named Trisha took care of me, she was so nice and explained everything and kept checking on me. Very caring. Very professional. The person across from me was having trouble and she was so great and calm and just did what she needed to do to fix the situation and keep the human calm. All the techs are great but Trisha is wonderful.
I just started to donate after plasma was given to two of my family members who were terminal. After we lost Grandma and most recently my aunt, I decided every so often I would help others and donate. Just like donations helped my family members. The extra money is cool but that's not why I'm there. Trust it from a family member, plasma is seriously needed. I am so grateful for all donors and you are so appreciated you have no idea! The staff was great and very friendly.
I've been donating here for 8 years and watched the quality of technician decline as each new generation comes through but Maggie is one of the best. Friendly and fun. You never know what you'll get to talk about when she's you're tech. Great job Maggie!
Everyone here has been good to me. So far over a year of coming here only had less than a hand of fungers worth of issues, they do a good job at sorting through any problems that come up. The staff are especially friendly, a person named Maggie has been good to me and others around me. Well done and well maintained place.
The staff is courteous and friendly. Very careful and helpful. The whole process only takes an hour. Funds are loaded directly on a debit card. The whole process couldn't be easier. You get paid a generous amount for being generous. Very cool.
My initial steps were handled quickly and the technician was very friendly. The technician that hooked me up and oversaw my donation was very friendly and did a great job! I had zero complications and my donation only took just over 30 minutes.
I have been donating plasma at BioLife in Lima for several years. There are several staff that I actually consider friends because they are amazing!!! Recently two of them gave me a suggestion to make my veins bigger since I was having donation issues because of my small veins. I have incorporated their suggestion into my daily routine, and my donations are going great!!
That was the best experience I ever done ? just to help save another life
Trisha did an awesome job love the environment very clean never to long of a wait
I went to try to donate. I have dyslexia. I was turned down immediately because I could not read during the physical. I emailed the corporate office, letting them know about the discrimination that was against me. I even went back to BioLife a second time and was turned down a second time because I couldn't read during my physical. However, I did see a blind man they were helping walk around who had already donated and I'm sure he couldn't read his physical either. Very dissatisfied!!!!!
It's been a whole new crew since returning to donate One of my first return visits I was in Maggie's section. I was a little nervous but her calm nature and precise stick make my visit perfecMaggie is my favorite!
people are great ,but for people who travel from farther away the pay is to low.
Bring out Rolling 7 days instead of forcing us to have 2 done between Monday and Sunday.! Only reason to do this is so yall don't have to pay out as much. Make it 7 days from your first donation to be able to get the second payment and donation done. So annoying that I end up missing a day end up losing out on the second payment amount cause the way you restrict it
The Staff like their jobs, which lends to a great experience for everyone. Super efficient process and very clean. See you in a few days. Jeff
The machine malfunctioned? which gives me pause to do this again, as I was already apprehensive. When my saline was ran back in, I think it was too fast? not only cold but painfully cold, then a hematoma started once the blood cells were being pushed back in? also too soon. People were professional and so had a good experience that way? but I think as a new person, everything should be slowed way down to start with. The thing was pulsating it was being ran through so fast! I could feel ?chunks? when the red
Come here twice a week and usually a good experience. But my favorite Is Maggie. She's always kind and friendly knows what she's doing and already great at her job.
Another excellent donation. From the new girl testing( sorry didn't get her name) to Katie and Tanner doing an excellent job. And finally Malaki unhooking me. From start to finish nothing but professional.
Beware sometimes the cards don't work and you get screws it to you where put of 70 bucks. There calling fraud. So ok guess it's time to lawyer up. After4 days lots of trips out there. So just beware of no cards working. God bless You all. I didn't know bio life was free and you don't get nothing out of it
Id still be going to the center if the machines didn't keep screwing up. Maybe when the defer is over. Maybe
Trish is one of the best employees at Biolife in Lima! She always has a smile on her face and treats everyone great! Never seen her in a bad mood going there. She's my favorite person there! ??
Went smoothly. Very clean and organize. Everyone was nice and caring. Donating was not painful at all.
Trisha at BioLife in Lima is absolutely wonderful!! She has such a great energy and attitude it's so refreshing! Her mood is seriously everything!! She made my experience great and actually set the tone for the rest of my day! Thanks again Trisha!
The staff are very nice and help you out.
Have been coming here since January as a new donor. I have waited to leave a review, to make sure i gave it some time to give an honest and fair one. The staff here are always professional and nice. Have always had the same service since day one. I had my doubts coming in to even be a donor. I walked in day one and almost turned around and walked back out. I am so glad I didn't. I feel so comfortable coming here that its been a every week routine for me. Saving lives and making a little extra money at the s
Trisha was the best she was very professional and did a great job when she poked me I didn't even feel it!
I don't like that they lower the amount you get all the time especially for someone who's been consistent on giving plasma. You need better promotions, I drive 30 mins to go, and it's getting to be where I don't want to go because it's not worth the money and wasting of my gas.
Usually they have a hard time finding my vein. Trisha got it the first time and was very fast but also made sure I was not in any pain. She made my experience so much better!!!!
I have a very irrational fear of needles and Trisha was amazing! Couldn't even feel the insertion of the IV needle and highly appreciated! Great job and hopefully I can ask for you next time
Trisha Gatchel always has a positive attitude and always works quickly making her donors a priority. I love her upbeat personality!! I love seeing her smiling face early in the morning!
Awesome place nice friendly staff
Maggie is #1 she is so attentive, careful, and knowledgeable. I always have a great donation when she takes care of me. Thank you for a great job Maggie.
Most of the time you get a staff member that is friendly, but a lot are! They are attentive and care about how your feeling. I felt uncomfortable my first time just because I've never donated at all, but they made me feel better!
I just want to give a shoutout to my girl Maggie. Very professional and gentle with the needle. Thank you homie and I will be back !
The whole building was very cold and I was extremely un comfortable the whole time I was inside the building..the staff is really great though.and I've read all these reveiws..reviews... Trisha should be compensated ...she really is as good as every says...
Thanks to Malichi For making my second stick today much less painful than the first one! He was awesome and made me much more comfortable ?? Also noticed I had a clot! Very good and professional!
I have only donated at the Lima Ohio facility, so this review applies to them. I donated about 100 times 12-13 years ago, and only had about 5 negative experiences (5%), and mostly with one technicians carelessness. I started donating again in February of 2023, and it's been terrible since the start. I have been bruised twice (eight weeks out each time), with a dozen or so donations. My wife started at the same time, and was bruised on her second donation, and gave up. The skill level of the Lima technician
First visit was great! Everyone was very friendly. But today's visit. I had brought my son with me because he had an appointment right after me, and it's advertised on the website that there is a play room, so I figured it was OK to bring him.. I get there and they told me I can't not have him there due to safety, that would most certainly be understandable if it was not advertised that there is a playroom for children! Very frustrating, also when it takes me a half hour to just get there. Please look into
Maggie is so great? She is so pleasant and hard working? always makes sure that my needs are being met. BioLife should be happy to have her.
Trisha was my phleb today. She did a great job and my donation went well! She has a bright personality! I enjoy being in her section!
Katie did a great job!!! Definitely recommend her everytime
I've been coming here for years. It's usually a fast process. Staff is always friendly. Maggie has been really efficient.
What an amazing experience I had with staff today. They are always friendly an greet me with a smile when I come in. But today Josie made my donation that much more enjoyable. She is real knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Shes a real pro. Thanks again and if you're in Lima stop by and donate you wont regret it.
I have been in their chair several different times The past two times now they have blown my vein out and they hurt. Then they wanted to try my other arm Um NO BioLife should not be able to blow my vein Make me wait in their lines sit me in their chair to get me started and blow out my veins. I waited an hour and 15 minutes just to go home unpaid. I left unpaid twice wasted a 42 minute trip for nothing and didn't get paid I do not think I will be back Sorry BioLife I think you have lost me as a custome
Trisha In limo Ohio is wonderful. I wish I could have her every time. She is very good at her job. Very nice and friendly.
Maggie is awesome truly an expert! Great experience with all the staff. All are very helpful and polite. True experienced professionals.
Trisha Gatchel always does an outstanding job! Never have had any problems with her sticks! Very professional at her job!
Well at first I loved going here. Everyone was very friendly. Then I got letters in the mail stating I tested positive for red blood cell antibodies. Not harmful to me but for donating yes and if I have a certain kind, it could hurt my future child. So caused all sorts of worry and I tried to get ahold of someone for daysssss. Then I got retested with my doctor and it's Negative!!! Caused worry for nothing and now can't donate here even though it's a false positive. It's wrong.
Trisha is awesome. Trisha is always so friendly and hustling. She is always a welcoming smile during your visit.
I once enjoyed donating but today, I waited in line for for about 30 minutes which is understandable. But to then wait almost 45 minutes before being stuck, was very disheartening. I finally waved for someone. The technician came over and apologized but it was not sincere. No smile or eye contact. Poked around in my vein which caused me to want to say "forget it" but she finally was able to find my vein. This was very frustrating and painful. A little kindness goes a long way. I doubt I'll be donating a
Good attitudes ! Great care
Litterally just watched a "nurse" empty trash cans push trash down with blue gloves, walk over remove her gloves and than lay her dirty gloves on a sterile cart that had bandages, tape, blood tubes and other sterile objects on....and when I questioned her about it she said "ok." What in the world are we tolerating
I like the staff they are very friendly. Before I donate the first thing I tell them, my veins roll to give them a heads up. Then they stick me and continue to fish for my vein usually leaving me in pain and bruising on my arm that I can't donate for a week. If they have a hard time finding a vein can't your company invest in a vein finder to help them out. Not everyone is an easy poke. They work wonders at the hospital.
I donated this morning and the employee Trisha was friendly, professional and is about the only one who can stick my left arm without any issues
Have to wait another 8 weeks because their machine had a ?glitch?. I think they put those machines back together so fast they're not getting all the connections good. So it's ended up me loosing out on over 1700 bucks and them loosing out a lot of life saving plasma!!!
Trisha Maggie & sheqauyla is the BEST ! They always Careful & Knows exactly What's she's doing.. never had a problem here, when she took care of me !
Maggie did a great job helping me get in and out. She was very personable and kind
Love coming in. Tomeako is very friendly. I always have a great experience when I come. I passed out a few months ago and i had my small gbaby with me. They took exceptional care of the both of us. Thank you.
Gina the nurse was great. Very professiona. Maggie is the absolute best Biolife poker ever
Trisha is the best! Always in a good mood. Smiles all the time and makes me feel comfortable
All the staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome.
They pay you well in the beginning then they keep dropping your pay till they frustrate you and make it not worth while
Very friendly atmosphere! Everyone has a smile and kind words to say. The employees are very good at their jobs and the needle sticks don't even hurt! Building is very clean as well inside and out
Max told me to vote for Tricia, but I just LOVE,LOVE LOVE Maggie she gets me on the first night every time
Very welcoming every appointment ?? great staff Maggie my tech was genuinely nice an gentle my it a good experience I don't go to any other biolife
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
