Reviews Summary

Mixed reviews with recurring themes: long wait times (often 2-3+ hours), inconsistent appointment systems, and understaffing frustrate many. Some praise friendly, skilled staff and cleanliness, while others report painful needle experiences, racial bias, or poor communication. Compensation ($40-$105/week) is frequently criticized as unfair compared to plasma's market value. First-time donors often receive priority, worsening waits for regulars. A few report excellent experiences with efficient, caring service. Overall, positive experiences hinge on smooth visits, while negatives cite systemic inefficiencies, discomfort, or perceived exploitation.

Customer Reviews

Extremely impressed by the OVER the TOP customer service this Biolife in Longmont offers. My entire experience was EXCEPTIONAL and this is why I felt compelled to share it. Every individual I worked with was professional, kind, knowledgeable, understanding and patient and I am glad I visited this location. I was also amazed at how everyone was positive and had a smile a mile wide as they worked efficiently and effectively to ensure everyone was being taken care of in a timely manner. It is obvious that al

Very poor customer service. I was harangued at the front desk. I got back to the medical exam and they disqualified me for an accident that took place years ago. Has zero effect on my ability to donate these days. Outrageous. And then they called me hours after to say I am banned forever because I walked out and told the front desk they shouldn't waste people's time like that. What a horrible company doing disservice to the public. After y'all reached out, I have an even lower opinion of your services. You

I've always have a pleasant time donating here. Even when it's busy, they are accommodating. The team is kind and they let you know what's going on through out the process. They make sure you are comfortable, and encourage you to speak up if you feel uneasy or feel anything weird.

I can never get through to other bio life centers, but when I call the one in Longmont, a young lady by the name of Maya, always answers with a great attitude and ready to help.Thank you Maya and staff for great customer service ??????????

Your experience depends greatly on the staff who attend to you. My first visit was easy and smooth. My third, the individual struggled to find my vein (which isn't a normal occurrence) and went on a fishing expedition with the needle. It left me with such bad bruising I had to stop donating.

I've been here a few time and it always takes forever. Pretty sure they are short handed and still doing the full day appointment time. Little backhanded if you ask me. Don't go here if you have a busy schedule or have other things to do that day because you will be here for 2 or more hours and the first hour is just waiting for someone to stick a needle in you. IF they do it right.

I came in for my first donation yesterday. I was turned away because my veins were too small for donation that day. The individual who took my blood told me to ?go to the gym, and if you don't feel like doing that you can curl some soup cans to strengthen your arms?. I am active duty Army, I can assure my arms are just fine. I am not naming anyone here but I'd like staff to be more thoughtful with their choice of words. I understand telling me I need to consume more electrolytes, and I have no complaints w

The staff was always helpful and pleasant. The problem is, my blood has been drawn 4 times now, and the protein test has not been completed yet. Now I have been asked to come down for another blood draw before I can donate again. That kind of blows our agreement out of the water. I can't meet the 8-donation requirement so it looks like I wont complete it through no fault of my own.

Incredibly disrespectful and harassing to individuals with physical disabilities. I have a brain injury from almost 10 years ago. As a result, they told me that I could donate AFTER I get a doctor to basically review whether me, a 30-year-old adult, is capable of making my own decisions. Once I went to the hospital and got that form signed, I went back, only for them to tell me that I would have to wait a week for another doctor to review the paper to determine if I'm eligible to donate. The entire time, I

The staff was very attentive , knowledgeable and kind. I was very nervous towards the end and appreciated being checked on even though it was getting very busy. Also, I appreciated finding my sweatshirt in the lost and found box that was by the door when I arrived!

I've been donating plasma for years now and been to every center in the denver area. This and grifols are my preferred donation centers. Csl arvada is the WORST, with rude employees, no ability to schedule an appointment as they only do walkins, and will miss veins and bruise your arms intentionally and hide their name tags to avoid complaints. Octapharma stole my buddys referral bonus after 2 donations and lied to me about it after. The phlebotomists are pretty good at finding your veins painlessly the f

Some of the staff are amazing, and some have no idea what they're doing. I've donated 6 times in the past month and 5 of those times, they've had to adjust the needle many times or switch arms completely due to the needle not sitting properly (and yes a couple times it was the same person). I've never had this issue in the past and I've donated plasma at this location many times during previous promotions, and whole blood at other facilities. On the first of 6 donations, I left with pain and a massive hema

Facility is nice and clean and the people are nice as well. Only problem is they only pay you through a 3rd party card and it's impossibly hard to pull the money off that card without using it for purchases. Tried using the website to do a bank transfer and it puts you in an infinite loop. Tried going to an ATM but you have to pay fees and you can only get 20's so you end up leaving money on the card. Seems intentionally difficult to deal with so I will never donate here again.

It took 2 hours and 10 minutes for a basic donation. I waited on a bed for over 20 minutes to be connected while several other donors that came in after me were connected. There was also extended wait times to complete the questionnaire and complete vitals. With the recent reduction of payment amounts it is now no longer worth the time and effort.

Love this place! Courtney up front is so amazing! I have white coat syndrome and she makes me so comfortable I can always pass my pulse test with her!!!

The staff at BioLife in Longmont is.excellent. They're very knowledgeable, kind and caring and seem to enjoy their work. I highly recommend giving BioLife a try as a way to help save a life.

First donation had very inexperienced techs. The first one stuck my left arm and when she did she did not get my vein another tech tried to adjust it and was unsuccessful then the second tech decided to try my other arm and she was also unsuccessful so they called my donation and I had two bruised arms and it took 8 to 10 days for my arms to heal.

I donated last Monday and I was really impressed. The staff seems to really know there stuff and Ambry and Arianna made the experience great. The stick was great and the people were even better. 10/10 would recommend.

Great experience! Place is very clean, and I can usually get through pretty quick. Very easy way to earn extra cash. Today Ashtyn took care of me, she was patient, and super friendly. I didn't even feel the poke! I would definitely recommend BioLife in Longmont. :)

I am a recently new donor and I came to do my donation one time and the guy who was inserting the needle was not paying enough attention or something because when he inserted the needle into my arm it hurt so much I was about to start crying from the pain! And I made it known to him and so he had pulled the needle out a good bit from my arm but it was still inside and I felt a little uncomfortable and sore but it wasn't as bad and so he continued with the donation and said that if it hurt to tell them immed

Everyone is professional and nice. Lines can get long, sometimes it takes them a while to get you started but you're volunteering your time so its really nothing to inconvenient!

The staff is super nice. Everything is really clean. It does get very busy, so I think they could use more staff sometimes. A great way to make some extra cash.

In general, I like this facility. The staff is nice, facility is clean, staff seems to be caring, and they try hard to keep up with the demanding workload. So, why do I give 3 stars? The time commitment involved, especially for updating physicals and such and the compensation for that 3 hours is almost not worth it. Donors make appointments online and there are quite a few times where it doesn't seem to have mattered that an appointment was made because they aren't prepared for the amount of donors that arr

I made an appointment at the Longmont location and arrived on time, but I was told I would have to get in line and wait an hour before the process even began. I tried contacting BioLife through the corporate website, twice, but I never heard back from anyone. So I tried calling the location itself, and no one ever called me back. Although everyone was friendly and helpful, the place itself was kind of beat up and didn't feel like the sterile environment that I would expect.

I just recently donated and was a little nervous. This location was amazing and all the techs that I seen were so nice and welcoming! They explained everything thoroughly and made sure everything was going and went good. The techs from the check in, the physical, and Ry and the other lady I didn't get her name that were collecting, they were super sweet and helpful with the whole process. I haven't been to the other locations, but I would definitely recommend this one for anyone who's nervous about donating

Love this place! Melissa and the rest of the staff are so polite and friendly. Would highly recommend! PS, hmu so I can refer you and we'll split the $100. #blessedlol

I went in for my first plasma donation and I was treated with respect everything went well, and I will definitely be going back. The facility was clean, the staff was amazing and I won't go anywhere else for my plasma donations.

On Friday, December 27, 2024 I went to Biolife to give blood. After doing vitals, I walked over to the zone requested. I drank my gator aide and did no eat my gold fish due to a high carbohydrate intake earlier in the day and myself having symptoms of diabetes, including restless leg syndrome. Mary, a technician was there and we spoke about Christmas. She asked me what I had to eat that day and I told her I had a whole calzone at 12:30p.m., frosted flakes at 2:30 p.m. and a walking tamale at 4:30 p.m befor

Please get better phlebotomists for the sake of future donors. Biolife ran a promotion for eight donations within 30 days. I completed all eight donations at Biolife's Aurora and Longmont locations, and I received bad sticks at most of those eight donations. Attached photo is a bruise I had a week and a half after using my left arm to donate. It felt like the phlebotomist went fishing in my arm...

I have a fear of needles, but each time I have been treated very well and with great care. I appreciate their kindness each time.

Exceptionally run facility! Even on the busiest of days, it has been a quicker and more pleasurable experience than "normal" days at other facilities. It is apparent to me that the employees care about providing a great experience, consistently! It has also become clear over many visits, that this culture is created, fostered and modeled by leadership!

Usually have a great experience but that last 2 times I have had to get an adjustment and it hurt! Once I'm healed I will try again

It was very clean and employees were very, very nice. Alyssa was the one who did my plasma and she made me feel very comfortable. Everyone I interacted with was helpful. I felt very comfortable for my first time. It does take a while so you have to plan accordingly to spend a lot of time there.

My husband and I had a racial encounter with one of the older staff ladys. I had my lease and I had no problems getting through. My husband, a black male, she gave him a hard time thinking the lease was a fake. Mind you I had the same exact paperwork. And this also wasn't the first time having an incident with the same lady. So we chose never to go back.

This is one of the best experience. I've ever had donating. I was in and out. At within 2 hours, I was able to make an appointment and it was my first donation in a long time at a new location so everything was super quick. Even though I was a new person I got in and out very fast, everyone was very. Nice. The stick was good. Everything flowed nice. It was great.

Recently I had to wait in line for over 20 minutes to get my vitals checked for my scheduled appointment, and then I had to wait in line another 10-15 minutes to get an open table. Seems like they schedule too many people for the same time slots. The staff is great but don't bother trying to call the facility, they never, ever answer the phone and they never, ever return voicemails. If you have any questions you have to drive all the way to the facility and wait in line to ask somebody in person.

Never had this happen any of the times I've donated it was pushing blood too hard inside of my arm as the cuff was tighter then usual had to ask then to remove the needle bc the pain was too much

The facility is clean, the process of donating plasma was comfortable, and every single person on the staff has been extremely professional and friendly!

Most staff members are kind. Appointment times always run late by 20-45 minutes.

It's obvious the nurse hates both her job and the people she serves. Pro tip: if you are going to be rude and demeaning at your job, get a new job! This place always acts like they're doing you a favor and couldn't act promptly to save a life.

. I went in to donate and because of there mistake not performing my physical correctly I had to redo the part that the last nurse missed. That was not the problem mind you but when I went in waited 1 hour only for Brian the nurse to tell me that he couldn't do it because he heard me sniffle. I told him I had allergies but to him it could?ve been COVID he said and for me to come back tomorrow. I was upset with the time it took for them to tell me this and if it was Covid why would he recommend for me to go

I had a bad experience that left my arm very bruised. It jeopardized me from working at my job for the last two weeks. I don't think I'll be going back.

I have been donating since January 2025 and Biolife maintains clean facilities, staff is friendly and efficient.

Every person involved in the process I truly feel went above and beyond. They were so incredibly kind, patient and detailed. Everything was explained thoroughly and I felt my safety was their top priority. Staff was absolutely incredible!

I had never thought of donating plasma as I am typically terrified of needles, however the staff is so friendly and reassuring during your first few visits (and beyond) and do a great job at making you feel comfortable. All of the people that do the needle sticks are great at what they do and have always gotten it right on their first try, which is better than I can say for emergency room visits in the past. Today I experienced an issue where the machine malfunctioned and I did not get my red blood cells ba

Clean location and polite staff, but it takes way too long to start donating and then get unhooked from the machine because this place is chronically understaffed. After coming for a few months, it's not just that they're regularly understaffed, their procedures for getting donors seated are remarkably inefficient. I have on several occasions stood waiting for 30+ minutes looking at a chair that is empty and ready for a donor, but it really seems like a snail's pace is a bit too breakneck for this location.

Not enough help. Waited 45 minutes to get my vitals. I was the 5th person in line to get my vitals. I ended up leaving. It would of took 3 hrs for the whole session.

I used to go here many years ago like 2015-2016 and I gotta say one of my biggest issues was the pain. One nurse shoved the needle in too deep and it started to burn. When I told her she treated me like I was being a baby and I ended up having to demand her to take the damn needle out because I was practically in tears. I had a bad hematoma too. I will say the nurse I dealt with afterwards was nice and the daycare was a plus, but their nurses seemed to be very inexperienced or just plain careless and judgin

long waits sometimes. need rolling 7 days for donations rather than calendar week.

Amazing staff, not enough of them. Appointment times are pointless and you will ultimately wait an hour or more before you start donating.

Appointments mean nothing here be preprared to wait way past your scheduled time, so they can get to walk ins faster, lots of problems, always needs to readjust, always getting hemoglobins. I just got off the blood loss probation because they couldn't return the blood twice in 8 weeks. So I couldn't come back for 8 weeks, and now this is visit #3 after being able to come back, and already have to 2 hemo 1 on each arm and a blood loss out of 3 visits. Very unprofessional and under trained. **Edit another blo

I'm disappointed with the care provided at this location. Happy to speak with someone in detail. One of the issues I have is the fact that standard care protocols were not followed at Longmont. I still have not been contacted by a doctor to review my ?reaction? and so I never had the opportunity to share with the doctor the lack of procedures and the concern for safety or lack of I should say which is why I will never go back to that location. I have been donating at another location weekly since my visit t

YIKES It's scary enough to get stuck with a big needle, but even scarier not knowing if the person pricking you actually knows what they are doing. They are trying and improving, but don't expect a pleasant experience every time. They have lots of new and unexperienced "prickers" as they call it. I have been there 14 times and it was a horrible, painful experience 8 of those times, the other 6 were great. The only time I have had an un-painful, pleasant experiences is when I was pricked by the experie

These plasma harvesting operations are all disgusting, depressing operations taking advantage of the impoverished and desperate, but CSL is a better option than Biolife, by far. Next time some BioLife staffer tries to call you a "hero", remind them that they are a for-profit company with $1,000,000,000 (one BILLION) in market cap, selling your plasma for ~$5000 a bottle, while offering you a $40 reward for your "donation". It's all a big grift on the stupid and/or desperate. edit to add: LOL. They just h

Great experience, very friendly and helpful staff. They made the process easy and transparent. Took a bit longer then expected to start, but they did give that information ahead of time. I would definitely go back soon!

While the staff are extremely kind and for the most part accommodating, the wait times here are getting harder to schedule into a regular day. The appointment times that you are able to schedule in the app are more of a front than anything, since nobody checks for an appointment time and you are served based on who gets in line first. Once the initial check-in and physical are done, you usually have to wait to get set up with a machine, and then wait even MORE time to be freed from the needle and checked ou

I donated for months, the process and space were clean and inviting, staff were awesome, never had any issue until recently. Wait times are prohibitive, fingerprint scanners don't always work so I've had it take 45 minutes just to begin the hour long questionare and screening. Twice I've had to just leave because I had somewhere to be. I simply don't have 3 or 4 hours to spend here anymore. It used to be very streamlined 2ish hours.

Biolife advertised a great promotion for first time donors, but you'd be hard-pressed to make it work here. Due to a (well-known by staff) glitch in their system my first donation was never connected to my account. So when I returned for my 3rd donation I was turned away for coming too often which wasn't true. Not to mention on my 2nd visit I was pulled into the nurses room once again because the one who checked me in entered the wrong data for me (a 4 hour appointment too). I also drove (30mins) there anot

I have to agree with most of the reviews. The staff is great but they are SEVERELY understaffed. My first appointment with the physical took three hours, and I left before donating because I didn't plan to be there the entire day. Now when I go donate it's about a two-three hour process. I'm not sure what the point of me scheduling an appointment is. I've been to the Aurora location and was in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes. They probably had triple the staff. I understand staffing can be an issue,

The waiting time to be disconnected needs to be a little faster. The pay needs to be higher than $105 a week

The staff here is absolutely amazing. I was a first time donor and my wait time for the physical was 3 hours long which was an hour long than quoted, however I didn't really mind because I wasn't in a hurry. The staff here is so wonderful, they are great at what they do and even though they may seem understaffed, they are very efficient and quick at what they do! On top of that they are very friendly. The building is very clean and organized. I look forward to my donations because the staff seems to remembe

Lines for Donation times have been erratic in length, but this crew has gotten better at cutting through the much faster and then the last few years. Recommend early arrival times, booking your appointment online ahead of time, and making good choices as to what to eat before you get there.

All of the staff are very kind and they will walk you through the whole process in detail! The environment was very clean, though I would recommend bringing a blanket (cause it gets cold)!

I appreciate manager reaching out after poor experience. I posted a review when frustrated about the waits and lack of efficiency on several occasions. I don't like to sound like a jerk, so I wanted to edit my post here. I do believe that things are not operating smoothly many days when i see the lines get so long and/or get to a bed only to have to wait upwards of 15-25 minutes. I even had to walk out once because it would have been over 2 hours including my donation. Thank you for calling. I just want p

Great until last attempt...was not informed that running out to car to get my purse would hinder my donation for the day:/ Literally gone less than 30 seconds and in front of building doors.

Just a warning they will reject you for simple things that happened years ago. And they gave me a hematoma, fine but never did the promise check up call to make sure I was okay. On the bright side some of the staff is really nice

Clean facility and nice staff but?the ?appointments? are a joke as anyone can come anytime (and they do and no one checks for appointments) and it's been at least an hour after all of my scheduled appointment times that I have been taken back. I don't think I'll keep coming because I don't have all day to do this and I have to be here at least 2 hours each time. They SHOULD actually have appointments to keep patients evenly spaced so that it is only a very small wait time when you get here, but they pay no

I used to come here for years and donate with no problem. Now there is a huge line you have to wait close to 2 hours just to get thru the line to get poked for the vitals. Then wait another 15-45 min wait or longer to stand in line for bed. And if your a ?red stick ? then you have to feel like a burden and get treated like it. I loved coming here because the people are nice but I can't stand in line all day to wait to only make $40 a session it's not worth it.

I went back as a return donar cause I moved houses n it was too far of a drive. But I returned to start donating again and didn't receive the new donating prices. I was in there almost 3 hours for $40. Not worth it. N it's sickening to know how much money biolife receives for each plasma bottle and they give u pennies. What a shame.

On average, the staff is very nice and capable. Unfortunately this is a very large time commitment every time I donate. On average it is taking me about 3 hours from the beginning of my appointment time to the point in which I leave the building. It is frustrating when they expect people to stick with their scheduled appointment times, but while waiting in line during my last visit, I saw seven new donors all get pushed to the front of the line to make sure their first experience was a positive one. Someti

I no longer have a desire to donate here. I have been trying to donate since Nov 2023. FINALLY got doc cleared for a reason that I should NOT have needed clearance for. They won't accept a doc note. They want their piece of paper signed as if a doctors note on hospitals letter head isn't good enough?! Not only that they want me to drive over an hr away to RESIGN a records release vs allowing me to drive to the clinic 5 minutes from my house. RIDICULOUS! Done trying to donate with bio life.

Some staff are very kind and others have their attitude. I've had to be there past 1030 at night to donate when my appointment was at 530 it's very understaffed and I've had the same exact experience at the loveland location I was there for the appointment at 245 pm and didn't get out till 815pm I have no clue why these locations are this way but they have had plenty of people apply at biolife needs to step up

The new questions are not worded intuitively. It's not only hard to understand but the touchscreen don't consistently work correctly. The employees did a great job although they appeared understaffed on that day.

Had to leave. The lines were long and it would have taken me over 2 hours to donate. There was one staff to do vitals training a new staff so vitals were taking twice as long and there was also a line for beds.

I was getting paid 70 - 90 dollars for each visit and then suddenly the reimbursements went down to $40 and $80 if one is able to donate twice weekly. Since many times I can only get there to donate once weekly, I am only getting $40 per week. I use my plasma money, not for luxuries, but for groceries and other essential needs such as toilet paper. I am very displeased with the misleading reimbursements after initially beginning to donate.

After a bit of a rough start due to some unexpected staffing issues I've got to say things are running pretty smoothly now. I've donated 3 times now and even when they are busy I've gotten back to donate pretty quickly. Most of the staff is friendly and keep you informed of what's going on at each step. Perfect? No but very good.

I was nervous to visit after seeing some negative reviews. I had never donated plasma before or even had blood drawn. However, I came here and my experience has been absolutely stellar. Every staff member I interacted with (about 5 of them) were extremely kind, patient to explain things, and friendly. Easy to interact with any staff member, and questions are encouraged and met with very clear and straight forward explanantions. They are great about making sure you are comfortable and well-informed about eac

Incredibly understaffed. They advertise an hour per appointment but that's not counting the hour and a half wait after your appointment time before you can even begin. Total disregard for donors time. With the ridiculous margins of this industry they could easily hire more staff but choose not to. You can see from other reviews they are aware that they are understaffed they really just don't care. They also make you wait in a physical line for over an hour every time instead of taking the 4 hours of progra

Long wait time. Took me three hours to donate. I plan my days around these appointments I leave two hours free after the appointment time to make the appointment. It's hard when it cuts into the rest of your plans. Missed a very important meeting due to this. This is unacceptable. Now I remember why I stopped donating years ago.

This facility is great, staff is fantastic, be sure you have documents ready, home address with utility bill, driver's license, photo ID or driver's license. Definitely worth your time, don't forget to invite a friend!

I have been happy with the service for the most part. I only have 10 donations so far. Today unfortunately was not good because they must have been short staffed. When I walked in, there were 6 people waiting for the initial intake and there were even two people who were waiting just to get into the donation area. There were only two sections open and all seats were full. I left without donating.

Staff is GREAT! So friendly, but they're severely understaffed. You'd think that with their scheduling software they could see how many people were working and allow a certain amount of donations in that time. As with any business, there should only be allowed a certain number of clients per worker. They could also pay more for our plasma considering CEOs and such are making MILLIONS and we're just your working class Americans trying to make ends meet. Staff should also be paid more.

I've been donating here for about 2-3 weeks now and every donation has just been amazing. Today though has probably been my best experience so far. My phlebotomist, Ben was super attentive and friendly. Made the appointment a lot better.

The majority of the workers are friendly, and if there is a promotion the money can be decent. However the functionality of donating is frustrating. I have already donated 4 times, and I am still am unable to schedule online or using the Biolife app. I've called in about this and am told it's a tech problem and they'll get that department to take care of it, but I'm still waiting for that to happen. So I have to call in to try to make an appointment every time and have already missed two donating cycles bec

Made an appointment just to be skipped in line by folks with an appointment time after mine. What's the point of appointments if they're not going to be followed Updating review because the staff were still great and the facility was immaculate, I did probably spend an extra hour there after being skipped, but noticed after the initial check in the staff did a lot better about checking who had been waiting the longest.

I gave 1 star for some of the great team I have encountered over the many years I have donated on & off. Do not reccomend this location, I was told today I could not be trusted due to an error on BioLife's side of recording info on my tattoos! Ridiculous. Have had a handful of rude staff. Computers for ck in do not always work so that increases time for appt. Also over the years not enough staff that makes donating up to 3.5 hr.

I was honestly on the verge of giving them a 1-star for: 1. Sending me back to reschedule (with a halfhearted sorry) for a completely unjustified reason (I was a few minutes too late, and apparently there were not enough nurses, so it was ?impossible? to let me in, despite the fact that had I showed up 5 minutes earlier, they would?ve let me in). 2. A clueless incompetent nurse (her name begins with a V I believe) who wanted, after I waited for a whole hour, to send me back AGAIN for not having a social sec

Quick, easy, and efficient with wonderful staff that take good care of you before and after treatment??
