Advertisement claimed "up to $750" for first donors?. Although it had the "*location may vary" it isn't as transparent as advertised. As a first donor I was only given $400 but I have to complete 4 sessions to receive that promotion before the base rate and it has to be done within 30 days. Having feedback of how exhausting donating can get you, I was planning to do 1 donation per month to keep my body safe. Meaning, I will receive $100 for each donation on those 4 sessions, but if I don't do the 4 sessions
I don't know what happened to this Madison location but I love it! I decided to take the come back promotion after not having donated in a long time due the donation taking hours because of lack of staff. I'm glad I gave them another chance because the process has been greatly improved.
Fast, smooth, process. Employees are friendly, Great music is played at a decent volume. Im someone who donates often. the only complaint I have is against an employee that is male and wears a rainbow print mask seems to not know what he's doing. I only have complications when he's the one setting me up, the needle is always inserted improperly and extremely painful
Sat in a waiting room for half an hour, waiting for intake papers to even be processed prior to a physical and donation. Spoke with a manager who is unapologetic and having the trainer be the only person processing new applicants. Refused to provide information on when more than one person would be processing applications to Offset the amount of time. New patients are waiting, manager refused. Manager stated that corporate wants all appointments, overbooked in case people don't show up, but overbooking push
Chiquita took care of me today and she did the best job anyone has done of getting my vein the first time. I barely felt it. She was friendly, personable, and kind. She was also taking great care of the other donors and her coworkers.
The donation itself is great, and the workers are incredible! It has been difficult to continue because of the lack of consistency in how long it takes. At times I get hooked up 90 minutes after my appointment time. As I don't mind it taking time, understood, but it's really difficult to plan a donation when I have to give up a 4 hour block in the day. Unfortunately I just decide not to donate. I realize that you want to get as many people as possible through in a day, that makes you money, but can't th
Came in for a 1030 appointment last week, there were about 17 people waiting to get vitals and then the chairs waiting to donate were also full with about almost 20 people. Maybe pay staff better and keep them satisfied with their job. I left. I have to also drive 35 minutes to get there so it's very frustrating to have an appointment and then have to wait 3 or more hours.
My last visit Joshua gave me a hematoma. I saw he went in too far right away. So now I returned for my next appointment, and my iron is too high because of the hematoma he gave me and I wasn't able to donate. Now I most likely won't get the entire month bonus because I was unable to donate my last appointment. The people poking you with the needle should be more careful, because that totally could have been avoided if he was paying attention to what he was doing.
Scheduling and staffing are not adequate. I regularly arrive for a scheduled appointment only to wait for 1-2 hours before I'm actually at a table donating. One time it took over 3 hours to complete my donation which is unacceptable. Each and every staff person has been wonderful but the scheduling system is awful. What's the point of having scheduled appointments if it doesn't actually mean anything? Appointments either need to be limited to the number of donors that can actually be serviced or changed to
Properly staff your business. I had a 230 appointment and when I showed up there were 19 people ahead of me waiting to donate. How does this happen when you have an appointment system. I arrived at 2:30 PM and I left at 5:20 PM. Almost 3 hours to complete a donation. It took me almost 2 hours just to get into a bed. This is not a rarity for this location in Madison Madison, Wisconsin. This is gotten progressively worse. I stopped donating at the end of August when I walked in for a 2 PM appointment and the
Jaden and Jessi were amazing when i started having a reaction while donating. Only con about this place is wait times can be really long but it's been better recently.
Every question was solved in the process, the whole staff is kind and really eager to make you feel comfortable on the process and also checking constantly while you're donating
Donating plasma and helping to save lives should be a rewarding experience. Unfortunately this facility places no value on a donors time. The management schedules more donors then the facility has staff to process the donations. The wait time sometimes exceeds 1 hour after appointment time. If the reverse happens and a donor is 12 minutes late then they are denied donating. If the donor is early then the policy is to have them wait for check-in. The management has created a culture that places very little v
So disappointed. Bad stick x2 results in not being able to donate x 8 weeks. 3 different techs and none could get it plus waited over 2 hrs just to get pooled. 2.5 hrs plus 8 weeks not being able to donate because couldn't get RBC back?waste of time!
I've attempted to donate here twice and I'll be honest it's because I received the $800 donation coupon each time. Each time after the second donation, they found a reason to defer me past the time of the coupon. So how the coupon works the clock starts as soon as they scan it. So if you're deferred past the dated then coupon is no longer valid and so you will not get the same for your donations. When you come back. They use the coupons to draw you in, get your donation one or two times and just find a way
Very slow takes 3 to 4 hours to get done with a donation. New donors go 1st so you have to keep waiting it's less money but I going to interstate plasma at least you entire process is 1hr. This location manager doesn't care they are in thier offices one of the slowest places they need to start paying 200 per donation if you going to be this slow
As others have said, Biolife is severely understaffed and it makes for an awful donation experience. I'm currently in line to donate and within eyesight, there are around 40 chairs for donations and only 14 of them are actually being used. This is not the only time this has happened to me. There's an entire other wing of this facility that clearly used to be used for donations, but is now used for storage because they don't have enough staff. It's absolutely pitiful because the staff that are here are gener
Usually don't have much of a wait but the last two-three times I've gone there the lines have been so long I left. If they are understaffed I don't know why they don't cut the schedule. Most of the staff is wonderful and are great if I need someone else to stick me as I have small veins. I'd give 5 stars if not for the longer than usual wait times.
The biggest thing about the establishment is that no one answers the phone. I was at an atm with someone who was upset tremendously that they were charged 5$ on the debit card when they asked for a balance. Very upset to the point they were talking about going back there and I won't repeat what they said. But I tried to call them to let them know 7-10 times. I even left an urgent message for someone to call me back. No response I just pray no one is hurt. I don't know the person I just heard them. Som
I was unable to donate because of my blood pressure. My elevated blood pressure was due to the new person doing the intake. I was this new person's first patient. Lots of stumbling through procedures. The finger poke was where things started going bad. The poke was painful and left a mark.
Don't waste your time. My physical was scheduled for 11:15. They opened at 11:00. 1 person ahead of me at 11:45. This should not be a whole day event! Would love to help people my time is valuable as well. Especially since this is a day off. Do better.
I'd like to start out by saying the staff at the Madison, WI clinic are extremely personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. I am incredibly frustrated by the BioLife corporate for allowing an unlimited number of appts to be made at each 15 min "appt time" despite # of staff working. What is the point of an 11am appt if you do not get seated at a bed to start donating until 1pm? This is not a one off occurrence for me and occurs each time I come to donate, no matter the time of day I choose. If I could chec
I've donated 310 times?. I know how it's SUPPOSED to go. Over the last 3-6 months have really gone downhill. Apparently they opened up a ton of extra appointments, but don't have the staff to accommodate. I used to look forward to my donation time. Now I dread it. 2-3 hour waits. I've left twice without donating over the last week?. The waits were too long. I left after waiting an hour today, I figured I had another hour before I even got into a donation chair. I guess if I was going to say anything, I'd sa
If I could rate fewer stars, I would. I made an appointment two days ago and came in because a promotion their allegedly having. After driving an hour in heavy traffic, I was turned away at the door with no prior notice. What is the point of having an appointment if it's first come, first serve, regardless? The nurse gave me a "$40 coupon" that clearly says $20 on it.
Trying to run the business with minimum staffing. Very often there is not enough staffing to smoothly operate the facility and take care of the donors in a timely manner. Donors need to wait every step of the way even though they have a pre-scheduled time slot. They allow multiple donors for the same time slot, which creates huge waiting lines. This should not be happening! Last night I spent almost 3 hours at the donation center!
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly! The process was smooth, and the wait was minimal. Special shout-out to Carlos who took my vitals. He was kind, professional, and answered all of my questions
On my first visit everyone was extremely kind and walked me through the process along with what to expect. I became light headed, which is what they call a reaction, and the floor supervisor came to assist... after rolling his eyes. I shook it off and thought maybe he's just having a bad day but was disappointed with his lack of professionalism. By my third visit it wasn't hard to tell that many of their technicians are not professional at all. Before my donation one employee was making fun of a donors pict
This was probably the worst visit I've ever had. It wasn't even the wait time that was the problem. They stopped my donation early, but left me sitting while they hooked up 5 other people. I finally asked the tech, if he could please unhook me before he hooks up another person. I desperately needed to use the restroom at this point. I also waited so long that I could've done my full donation and I would've preferred that. My partner was also there donating and he heard the tech talking about me to another d
Honestly this place is ran like trash. Multiple times I've had appointments set, but end up waiting 45 minutes to an hour to even get in line to donate. If you're going to allow setting appointments, honor them. People are busy. I set an appointment for certain times because that's the time that works for me. Multiple times I've had to walk out and not even donate because of how slow this place operates. If you've got 3 hours to waste, go ahead and hangout.
Most of my donations have been problem free?.until recently. I was deferred for a procedure I had, for 4 months. I returned to donating and was told that the day BEFORE my return the deferral time for the same procedure was now less than 1/4 of what it was for me. No worries, I understand, my bad luck. I had 2 donations that were smooth. The third I was waiting in my section for 45 minutes just to be connected. The person who was overseeing the section connected and disconnected 2 people that were there AFT
Donated here 3x as a part of the new donor bonus. On my third donation, I was stuck way too deep and got a massive hematoma in my arm as a result. Hurt like hell when my tech pulled the needle out and after getting home and removing the gauze 2 hours later, it was completely soaked through. I'll never be able to use this vein again, for donations or otherwise. Will not be coming back. Really wouldn't recommend donating here if you can help it.
Wait time just to start to donate with an appointment can be 2 hrs. They don't limit how many people can have an appointment at the same time. There were literally 30 people in front of me waiting to donate. Ridiculous!!!
Sometimes there is a long wait. All the phlebotomists are nice and make sure your experience is good.
Not sure what the deal is. I have done 5 donations and 3 of those times they miss the vein and then someone else comes and moves the needle around to get the vein. Leaving a bruise, which then the next visit u end up having to wait in ANOTHER line for a nurse to look at bruise. Well, this last visit was the worst. 1st girl once again missed the vein, 2nd girl couldn't get it, 3rd one finally got it. Machine stopped, so a 4th person came over, moved needle a bit and got it to go. Machine stopped again. One o
Very disappointed with how my experience turned out. I was excited to start donating as a new donor with the coupon and promise of the new donor bonus. During my second donation, I was told the machine malfunctioned and I would have to be deferred for 8 weeks due to red blood cell loss. Bummed, I was told I could come back and have my new donor coupon restored and was given an additional $40 coupon for my next time back. After 8 weeks, I returned and donated for a third time. Long story short, my new donor
I was very satisfied with my visit. Every person took the time to explain and give additional tips regarding my visit. The phlebotomist Angela explained the machine and was very knowledgeable. And individual across from me began to get sick and the situation was taken care of very quickly. Despite seeing their reaction I still feel safe donating because of how effectively it was taken care of. The nurse was out there in a matter of seconds! Great work!
Some truly good staff, but they have days where lines are long, and staff is just walking around aimlessly. A lot of the issues come from the higher ups. They think that they are properly handling situations, but they most certainly aren't. When someone considers themselves a manager they should NEVER walk by and ignore the fact that there are 4 disconnects in a single section. But they do every single time. To the point where donors are waiting to be disconnected for 20 minutes plus. The few people w
It's was a horribly long wait! It took me 45 min just to get my vitals taken. Then another 30+ before I was in a donation chair! The wait time just keeps getting worse!. I saw several doners walk out and yesterday also. I understand being short staffed but the amount of appointments being taking while short staff definitely needs to be addressed
I would not recommend going here without doing extensive research. After driving an hour, did all the intake and paperwork and everything else, and was told no because of a past stroke. A person next to me was told no because there was a tattoo close to the picture site, and then ANOTHER person was told no because they'd had COVID four years ago. None of these things were listed on the website, or told when spoken on the phone. It's largely a waste of time. An added note, I e of those people that were told
Most of the employees are doing very well and having a good positive day. The 'doctor' or 'physician' on shift has very poor bed side manner... If someone is 'offending' your sense of smell then you should not be loud with it ... And then to refuse to even finish the 'check up' for first time donors... Very rude and unprofessional.... 10-29-2024 Lamont Topper-Montanye ; 11-1-2024 I have already spoken with someone about this and even did the survey that came in the email...
The facility in Madison, Wi. is well maintained and clean. The staff is amazing. My only issue is that due to low staff count the process at times can take a few hours or more so it isn't always a convenient for a busy lifestyle. I donate for more than a monetary reason, I out a sibling to cancer and knowing my plasma donation could help individuals with illness is a big deal.
Always professional team members could have more people working in the afternoon when very busy.
So because one of your Med Techs, Kevin, couldn't find my vein on my right arm (complained that its a vein that rolls around easy after accusing me of moving), he went ahead and started going at my left arm, which isn't really supposed to have blood drawn due to nerve complications with said arm. This was the eigth draw after seven in which they PERFECTLY FOUND THE VEIN. I know EXACTLY what he did wrong, he didn't even BOTHER to find and locate the path of the vein, LIKE ALL YOUR STAFF ARE SUPPOSED TO. Ne
Spent over 4 hours waiting in line before ever getting a stick. Once I got in the chair, I had to wait another hour to get the needle in. Whats the point of wasting 5 hours of my time for $35. Never returning.
Usually one good efficient day a week and usually one not so efficient day each week. My actual donation time is usually 35-37 minutes so any time I am there more than 1.5 hours means something isn't efficiently running for a multitude of reasons, new donors, training, reactions, not enough staff at vitals. This week I watched a trainee give 3 donors around me hematomas. I sure hope those folks don't end up with terrible bruising that ends up deferring them which equals money out of their pocket. And
It literally took an hour and a half for me to finally be hooked up to a machine to donate. I spent 45 minutes waiting in line for vitals, because they only had 2 people taking them at a time, despite having a line wall-to-wall. Then, I was sent back, and sat on a bed for fifteen minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Then, they had a new trainee set up the machine, which is fine, but it took over half an hour, and they weren't watching closely enough, so it was done incorrectly, and the equipment had
Lines are insanely long, staff is stressed out. Corporate continues to take maximum appointments. I've been coming to this center for three years. I've been 10 minutes early to my appointments and been turned away 3 of my 6 appointments after an hour and a half wait the last three weeks . It's getting ridiculous. Take less appointments and new donors spread them out!
Don't go here u less you have 3-4 hours per donation . I'm not joking. They are flooding the reservation system and it takes hours before seeing a chair. Horrible way to treat your cash cows.
Worst experience last month of donations, they don't have enough staff and they schedule far to many donations. Training employees look like they have no idea what they're doing. Management seems to do nothing to help. Appointments are supposed to take approximately 1 hour, they take over 2 hours now. Clearly due to being severely understaffed the staff is now very short tempered and rude. BioLife you need to fix this. Often understaffing is due to lack of good pay and/or terrible management. Take the hint
This particular Biolife location is managed incredibly poorly. At my appointment today I had to wait 45 minutes before I even got into a bed, I didn't leave until 2 and a half hours after my appointment was scheduled. Given that they have you make an appointment, you shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to get a bed. There were several sections that were closed while I waited that should have been opened. Whoever is in charge of scheduling employees to work should be fired because they know how many appointmen
Overbooking with insufficient staffing. By 6:25pm there were still individuals who had 5:05pm appointments not even at the front of the line yet. Nobody acknowledged the wait, provided any reasoning or updates as over 20 people were waiting in line. I ended up leaving 45 minutes after arriving as nobody bothered to mention what was going on, plus, with the length of the line, there was no way I'd get checked in and released prior to close
This facility is super busy and almost always understaffed. I went the other day and you're supposed to be able to check in, get evaluated, and be seated to complete donation in about an hour or a little longer for the whole process. I was in a wait line for OVER an hour just to be seated. Took over two hours because they didn't even have enough staff to unhook me. Went to counter to ask if I could get any type of promotion or bump on pay for ridiculous wait times while also making me show up to my schedule
Takes more than 3 hours to complete a donation (regardless of whether you are a new or current donor). The reason it takes so long is that you're standing in line waiting in between each step to donate. Here's the process: Step 1: complete the questionnaire (~10 min). Step 2: get vitals done (this is where you stand in line for around 45 min just to get your blood pressure and all checked). Step 3: wait in line to donate (~15-45 min depending on the crowd). Step 4: you finally get to a donation chair but yo
Let me start by saying I am a full-time working father of 5 who just wanted to donate to help and nab some extra cash because Biolife was offering. My wife had gone a few times and had great experiences. I went in with confidence and a smile. I was plenty hydrated and my lab numbers were "great" every donation. My first donation the staff was very helpful in explaining the whole process and making sure I was willing to participate. I had issues getting comfortable at first and the needle seemed to be a bi
Wonderful experience every time I go! They truly care about us! The girl Alisha was my sticker, she's sweet, and has great energy! Thank you to all the staff and nurses as well!
Twice they had a unexperienced Phlobotomest that did not hit my vein which in turn messed up the machine and I lost a pint of full blood donation the first time and couldn't come back for 8 weeks, the second time they screwed up again not getting it in my vein and I suffered pain from getting poked twice and only recieved 40.00 what kind of crap is that? for something that was not my fault. Twice I emailed about this asking for the rest of my money which should of been 100.00 I received no response. I will
If I could give a zero I would. I am a nursing student and wanted to make some extra cash. I read everything online and it said that I qualified. First off they tell me that I was almost too late even though I was waiting in the line for 10 minutes. Secondly, it was my first time therefore I had to get a physical. Nowhere on the website does it say "If you have this condition" you cannot donate. I mean it is pretty obvious for HIV and Cancer and such. This being said I am getting my physical done and they t
Always have friendly people working. They get you through as quick as possible.
Very disappointed today, planned on donating did the hour drive with my son and was told he could wait in the car...I pointed and said the sign says supervised playroom. I was told I need to bring the supervision. (Not what it says on website) and I was not making my child sit in the car alone. I said he can't just sit in the waiting room quietly? She said no for safety reasons we can't let him i said but he'd be safer unsupervised in the car?? As there was a child MUCH younger than mine sitting in the wait
It was a busy day and time but the check in wasn't bad, Things went well but I couldn't help to notice that one of the donor's machines wasn't working correctly for a while and it was making this ding sound to alert the technicians. There were 2 technicians chatting with each other that were standing close by the donor and didn't pay attention to this alert. It's a bit concerning because I don't want to be one of those donors who gets ignored.
I was told I would be accepted even though I had a past medical condition. The first time I went, they let me go through and I made my first donation. The next time I showed up, I was pulled out of line and told that I needed to send a medical release form to my doctor in order to move forward. The person who originally let me donate apparently had the wrong info. I dropped the form off at my doctors office, but they lost it. A few months later, I called to get another medical form, and I was told I was aut
showed up for my appointment at 10:30 and waited in line for over an hour to be seen. What's the point of having an appointment only system if it's not honored. severely understaffed and overbooked.
Often long waits. Feel bad for the staff who are running around. Had an appt and after testing to make sure I was ok to donate (I was) I waited in line for 45min only to be turned away because they were too backed up and couldn't see everybody still in line. Didn't offer any compensation and nurse was rude when someone in line asked about it. Haven't had any problems with the actual donation.
Had a donation today and had a new worker named Nicole. She was very kind and sweet and if I didn't know she was new, I would have assumed she's been there forever! Very happy with her service
0 star service and you don't want that stabbing your veins. Easy money for emergencies. Compensation changes to remain near the lowest level donors will accept.
I was in blue section today,Oct 4th at 6pm. The first Technician(she) was great ! I give her 5 stars but guy Technician(mask on)was rude. The gauge came off while he was wrapping so he snapped, ver rude saying "you don't move your finger until we tell you " not any pleases at all or any how was your day?and not have a great day after donating.? Please try to train this Technician some curtesy or customer service skills.
The pay continually goes down as you donate more. I had 2 weeks of appointments scheduled at $110 , and i received an offer for $100 per week a cpl days ago . I donated yesterday and only received $100 for my two donations that were scheduled a cpl weeks prior to receiving this new offer that i didnt even accept. This has happened a few times prior as well, pay goes down every couple months so far. I think this is terrible business practice. Make a standard for those that want to help save lives on a consi
The staff are pretty good but you have to schedule 1-2 weeks out for appointments. Wait times can be long. Appear to have high turn over as they're often training new employees. You can never get through to anybody on the phone. The most annoying part though is the compensation. It's unclear how the point system works versus card pay out. The card has a monthly $3 fee and can be very confusing to figure out how to get money off of it. All of the rewards, referrals, bonuses are listed as 200 points or simil
Everyone I've interacted with has been pleasant. There's a small group of staff that has stuck it out through labor shortages, sporadic new hire training, and the revolving door of new donors that clog the lines. I'm positive that they, too, deserve more money - like us donors. Appreciate y?all. The ?promotions? have dropped a good chunk, and with the significant wait times (despite having an ?appointment?), it is almost not worth going. Don't bother with the rewards system. Like many others have stated
Not the best experience today. I went into my appointment today which i had set up on the app, but once I got there and signed in, it said i couldn't give more than twice in last week. Not sure why I was able to make an appointment but I wasn't allowed to give and had to make new appt for tomorrow. It was kind of a waste of time and gas. The appointment scheduling online obviously has a glitch.
Most employees are friendly enough..Some aren't, especially when putting needle in arm. Twice now the schedule system would only let me donate once a week because it kept saying I had already donated twice in 7 days. Which wasn't correct. I tried calling twice and sent emails twice, all with no follow up on Biolife's part. So with this " glitch" I won't be able to complete my current promotion which is no fault of mine. Kind of disappointing when they don't return emails or answer the phone or messages
I have a love hate relationship with this place. I keep coming but each time I come I get closer to quitting. I think I'm at my final straw. Pay keeps going down and it's not worth it anymore. From the time I checked in on the computer it took 66 minutes before I was finally poked with a needle. This ended up being a 2 hour appointment because of the wait. BioLife keeps responding and apologizing on these reviews but I'd rather see them do something to fix the problem. If there isn't adequate staffing then
8/23 issues pile on New doners causing delays followed by illness. New doners hacking and coughing ill should not be able to donate.... 48 hours later, testing positive for west Nile and a 101.2F fever. Should be illegal for NEW DONERS to inconvenience anyone who donates on a regular. lifetime doners with over 25 donations in 3 months to prevent sickness Not skip people with appointments (not CSL plasma) and inconveniences from new doners. don't need that invasion. 8/3 issues with staff who dont want to
Went in for my first donation at 1:25 pm. Didn't leave until 5:00 pm because of the wait times. Left me with a massive bruise and hematoma on my left arm.
I can't even be ok with the amount of time I have to wait. 30 minutes to get checked in, 20 minutes waiting time in chairs, 15 minutes before starting and then 15 minutes to be disconnected. If you don't value me or my time and treat and are disrespectful then why should we bother? Your inability to staff and then over schedule is a YOU problem. Maybe some ?admin? should be at the donation center helping.
I use to come in no problems , lately the lines so insanely long , currently sitting here in a chair for over an hour still waiting to be hooked up to machine! What use to be done in a hour and half tops is now taking 3 hours thinking ima start going across the street to the other one!
The staff at the Madison WI location are great. My dissatisfaction is with the corporate scheduling process AND compensation which did not increase after the amount of plasma drawn was increased!
Kelly at the check in desk was great. I had 2 accounts, so she took care of that for me, got me the bonus that I received via email, and was able to get me scheduled so that I made the bonus deadline. Very friendly and efficient.
Doesn't matter what time your appointment is there's always 12 people sitting in a chair waiting for a bed to donate. There's always a line to get checked in also. Very disappointed that you can't keep your appointments close. And they schedule them 5 minutes apart? No wonder there's such a backup. Corporate needs to do something about this I feel bad for the employees that have to put up with people mad. Some of us come on our lunch hour. Granted I know we can't get it done in an hour so no more for me. D
My husband went to give plasma today and walked out after observing the ?technician? start IV?s on three different people without changing her gloves in between. When he brought it to the Managejrs attention he was told that it's not necessary to use new gloves unless they are taking the kit from the machine. I work in healthcare and this is not only extremely dangerous, but also extremely negligent. They need to be investigated if this is their philosophy there. This is a massive risk for cross contaminati
The worst customer service I've seen. Been here for an hour and they "can't find the labels". No clue what that means other than another 3 hour appointment. Don't come if you have less than 3 hours Edit: go to interstate blood bank to donate. Takes 1 hour. Nothing has changed at biolife. 7:35 am appointment and there's an hour and a half wait.
Overall positive experience when they're not too busy! I've had to leave three times because of long wait times.
My donor amount is now only at $95 goes down with no explanation, not worth my time and 45 min drive. Be consistent with payment your donors time is valuable and with your staff shortages the waits are often long. Do better.
The staff here are amazing! I am a returning donor and had a physical today with Tasha. Tasha was extremely thorough and although she had many things/people to tend to, including an emergent need, she was certain to make sure I was comfortable while I waited. Post-donation, I experienced some nausea and lightheadedness, likely due to not eating enough in the morning but both Tasha and Jenna (I believe that's her name) ensured that I was feeling healthy before leaving. I will continue to return to this locat
I had to wait 3 hours????? That is inexcusable. The workers did their best. Stop over scheduling!
Madison WI BioLife has a difficult time organizing and maintaining a respectable time for the Donor?s. They are either understaffed or allow for too many donors too attend at the same time. It used to take me about an 60-75 minutes from the time I walked in until I walked out. Now I'm lucky to walk out of there in less than 2 hours. Sometimes I'll sit 10-15 min after I have completed the process to get unhooked. The worse part is they have lowered the cost for the last 2 months. They are only giving $10
I've been treated with the outmost kindness and respect from the staff that I felt like family. Thank You!! Staff at BioLife Plasma on East Washington Ave. Madison, Wisconsin.
I thought things were run efficiently, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the phlebotomist did a good job sticking my tricky vein. The machine was faster than what I'm used to. The initial bonus money is good. That's all I can ask for.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
