I love going to this location to donate every week because everybody is super friendly and professional. The building is always clean and presentable even when it is busy. I recently moved here and struggling to get by, so it feels good helping someone else out as I help myself and get back on my feet. I love talking to the staff here because they always give off a good vibe and go out of their way to talk to me. Shout-out to Dani, Kendra, Alexis, Aleda, Fabio and Preston for always being awesome!! There's
Normally a good & smooth experience. Occasionally it seems to be a bit overbooked & takes extra time to get thru the process. I have only had a couple of times that a Biolife employee has not been very friendly, but anyone can have an ?off? day occasionally! Overall I have been very satisfied going there.
It was a good experience. I felt welcomed and as if I could trust the information they gave me and with the technicians being donators also It felt easier to relax and ask question. Thanks to the staff at Biolife.
unqualified and incompetent people that work here. The guy that stuck the needle into my arm had no idea what he was doing. You should probably make sure you know how to do your job before you're sticking needles inside other people?s body.
Had a horrible experience with a new phlebotomist that, after the donation, I was left with a giant bruise below the needle insertion area and arm pain for a week. A more experienced phlebotomist attempted to correct her mistake before the draw and while there was minimal discomfort during the donation it was when the IV fluids were given that I experienced excruciating pain at the draw site. Unfortunately the person working that section was nowhere to be found and I couldn't get anybody?s attention. It was
Jazmine is phenomenal. Always greeted kindly with a smile. She does a great job when taking vitals and never misses the mark during the donation. She makes sure we are the priority.
Every single staff member I got the chance to speak with, made my experience enjoyable and seamless. I've been to other donation centers before, they do not even come close to this one. The relationship between employees was fantastic. The interactions with the staff were so easygoing and lighthearted. You don't just feel like a donor here, they treat you so well, that you wish to come back.. which is the goal at any donation center! I will be recommending this location over and over again!! & of course, I
Went for first time and needed money to find out I was denied due to ptsd from my mom being murdered when I was 19.....I'm a phlebotomist myself. The whole process was ridiculous if you don't have ptsd towards needles I advice not saying anything it's not worth it.
Got poked twice in both arms first girl didn't seem what she was doing and pushed the table on my foot from anger also blood went everywhere when she poked me and the second girl didn't poke gently either, and didn't put enough tape to hold the needle still. They made a big deal out of my ears being pierced since i was a infant and a nose piercing i had since high school. Please just go somewhere else very unpleasant experience today.
Excellent!! Staff are GREAT. The only complaint I have is not being able to get a better coupon.
The staff in Mankato are all very friendly and willing to help and answer any questions. The facility is always clean. I have never had to wait to get to a bed. Can't say enough about the staff. Great people. Always in high spirits. They learn who you are and care. Great experience every time.
A short wait & friendly, attentive staff. The center is always clean. They did need to switch arms midway through. A lot of "probing", which wasn't pleasant. And, both arms bruised as a result. Typically things go pretty smoothly, though ... this time a little disappointing & because of both arms being bruised, I will need to be off for a while.
I enjoy coming to Mankato to donate when I'm not sitting in the chair waiting for a half hr to be hooked up. I was there at 1230, got to the big chair within ten minutes. Didn't get hooked up till 110 wasn't busy there were a lot of open seats. By the time I got wrapped up I had been there an hr an a half. At the end I asked why I got left for over 20 minutes while the machine beeped no one came. But the 2 girls across from me, who had literally just finished, they attended to them while I still sat with a
The experience at the facility is great. It's there promotions online that's a problem. I look it says 40 for 1st donation then 90 for 2nd now it dropped to 80 after I already scheduled the appointment. Something needs to be done. I will be taking screen shots of all promotions and my donations from this point on. They will not make it right either because it's not what they see so oh well they say.
Giving 2 stars because everything was clean, easy and fast. I had a wonderful intake experience UNTIL I got to the nurse. She slammed a drawer when I informed her I was Type 1 diabetic. Told me I was unable to donate, acted like I was wasting her time. When I asked why I couldn't and that I had researched it previously to find out since mine is well managed with a pump and DexCom, I was definitely eligible to donate. She just stared at me and all she could say was, well it's for your safety. This is false i
I have been donating for many years now. A lot of employees there dont enjoy their jobs and are not as good as others. Now once and awhile u will get Michael, Lucas, gale, or Erin, Joy, Amber, and maybe a few others who are always COMPLETELY AMAZING, and or sweet and or professional and or something else. These people get stars, so pay attention to whos area u in and who stickin ya. U can always request someone else too!
Love Biolife. They provide excellent customer service despite being overworked and understaffed at times. I look forward to going there and plan my week or rearrange my plans when necessary in order to donate every week! 10/10 recommend.
I've been going to this center since 2018 and have rarely had good experiences. The staff are typically too busy for you and you have to wait for hours to talk to a nurse if you accidentally click the wrong button on your questionnaire. (Now I have to leave because I don't have 3 hours to wait for 4 other people to do physicals before me) Last year, I had a very uncomfortable start to a session and tried to get someone?s attention. I tried to stay calm as she was starting to help someone else get started bu
Today I had an appointment at 630 am, I arrived about 10 to 15 minutes earlier, got checked in had my numbers done and was assigned to the purple section. Once seated, I sat for nearly 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged of being there at which time I had to leave due to if I now donated I would be late for work (I start at 745). I sat there and watch several people get hooked up and going that arrived after I was already seated, and were in sections that were not even open when I seated. This is n
Hire thicker skinned people that aren't offended by someone with a louder inside voice then them. You guys also potententially gave me nerve damage, thanks. I look forward to speaking to my legal advisor about it. You guys straight up tried scamming me money and acting like it was the first time that's EVER happened. Never going back, I rather drink bleach or take a bath with my toaster. I'd give you 0 stars if it let me.
great courteous staff. Very dedicated to get the job done
Honestly this is a wonderful place. The staff are friendly and are not afraid of talking to you even if you prefer not to talk. The reason I gave it 3 star's is that this location has become so busy and need more employees and more equipment to help get these wonderful people here a break. They are constantly working hard deserve some help
Giving plasma is very important and it's something I want to do. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but issue after issue with BioLife Mankato, MN. I understand this experience may be unique to me and others have probably had a different experience. After my initial physical, I had some paperwork to send in to my doctor and get approval. Then, over the next 6 weeks it was debacle after debacle on BioLife's end. They missed paperwork in the beginning so that had to be faxed in to my doctor. Then they said my p
Great experience. Will be back. Nice staff members.
I look forward to going to Biolife in Mankato, MN because of the friendly staff and how they always make me feel so comfortable and taken care of. I love walking in and being greeted right away by Ruth because she is always so kind and fun to talk to. I can tell she is genuinely interested in what I have to say. I also want to give credit to the staff as they keep a very clean facility!
Most employees are great! Just a few obviously hate their job and will do everything possible to avoid doing work. I came in 2 minutes late for my appointment which happened to be at close and literally was yelled at for coming inside by one of their older employees. However, the majority of their employees are friendly and will do their best to provide you good service.
This place is SUPER busy on Friday?s. Your first here might be confusing. There's a lot of procedures to follow. I didn't end up donating, but they have a pretty smooth operation.
Mankato Bio Life has awesome employees. They are fun, energetic, well trained and very knowledgeable. They go out of there way to ensure "problem children" (like me) have minimal amount of pain and get the most accurate stick. They ROCK!!!
I love BioLife. The staff is friendly, the procedure is quick and efficient, the environment is safe and clean. And, you know, they pay you to relax in a recliner. What's not to love?
Ella truly exemplified excellence in her craft?her mastery with the needle was nothing short of amazing. Under her skillful hands, the insertion process was not only painless but also executed with remarkable speed, showcasing a level of expertise that elevated the entire experience to a realm of unparalleled efficiency and comfort.
Nice friendly staff. Needle poke was accurate. Machines were not loud and noisy. Nice bandage at the end that wasn't to tight. Thank you. ??
Got through check in super fast and in to the donation chair. Was hooked up right away. Super friendly worker had ca great stick and was done and out of the center in 45 min .
Preston caused a hematoma in my left arm because of his aggressive way he put the needle in my arm and didn't take any accountability. Then when removing the needle from my right arm he used scissors/pinchers to pull the tube out of my right arm vs the proper technique. I have no idea to the life of me how he still has the job on how careless he is with others bodies. And, he wanted to argue because I told him to retape my arm because the way he did it was amateur.
Some of my favorite time spent is My 2 visits to plasma per week. In all honesty, I don't do it to donate but instead to get by financially. In turn, I'm grateful so many others benefit from it. And the time spent with the phlebotomists is like visiting friends, they genuinely care about my life ??
I've been donating now for 4 years. It's a great way to earn extra money and help save lives at the same time. The staff is great too! When Amanda checks me in she is always super friendly and asks about my day and more. Great place overall!
Have been donating for just shy of three years and it is a great way to earn extra spending money as well as contribute to creation of life saving treatments(win-win). I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. The employees are friendly, professional and very good at what they do. The center is always very clean and spotless. Would recommend to anyone one interested!
I think its a good company and everyone is very good at thier job. And it's amazing that you get money for donating plasma. However, thier bank that they use is has so many issues. My card has been declined at places for no reason at all, because I have the money available on the card. Sometimes it takes longer than usual for transactions to clear. Sometimes it will work at self check out and sometimes it wont. Again, the company itself is great. They just need to change thier bank.
All of the staff are pretty great!! They seem to be horribly understaffed yet want just as much business as normal. I used to be in and out in an hour and it has now been 2+ hours with all the extra waiting. Wouldn't recommend the place until things get back to ?normal?. I also wonder if their scheduling system is not very good and that is part of the issue. I'm pretty close to being done all together and not scheduling donations anymore.
Great place to help others and help yourself at the same time. I have been donating on and off for 20 years. They are busy and understaffed which can cause for longer donating times but still way better than 20 years ago and money is way better. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Jen has twice now brought me a mask from her personal stash after seeing me with improper fitting masks, thanks Jen.
I love my Biolife. They always try to get donors through check in as quickly as possible and the techs they have inserting the needles are very good - most of the time I don't even feel it!
I have been a doner for a couple of years and I have very rarely had any problems, and most of the ones I have had were my own doing. The staff, like Amanda, are always friendly, smiling and know what they are doing. I tell anyone who will listen to start going, it is quick, easy and you can get good money while helping others!
I have been donating at this location for over a year and have always been treated with kindness. The employees go above and beyond to ensure I've had a comfortable and safe donation. Thanks Team Mankato! You're all amazing!!!!!
The woman receptionist has to be one of the rudest people I've ever met. The chairs in waiting area and donating area filled with dust and garbage. The tables looked like there was juice or pop all over it. Their manager and employee stood there watching my while I wiped the chair down before sitting in it. I am sorry am I the ONLY one who sees the dirt and dust on these chairs? The manage guy was nice not overly by any means. Shayla was probably the nicest one there. The red head Virginia had the personali
From the discourse ive seen about other locations, this one is very clean and efficient. Staff is frirndly and accommodating. Lines and waittimes are never too crazy, usually from check in to getting unhooked is always under an hour for me.
I have found in Mankato the workers ate very professional almost all of them are very friendly and take extrem pride in there work I enjoy watching them wirk tirelessly and diligently. I'm glad bio life has found a way to not o ly help people with extra cash but also help people in need of the plasma we are donating its a win win fir communities around the world. I highly recommend trying it if u have not do e it and who couldn't us a couple extra dollars
Love coming here in Mankato Minnesota they are very friendly but sometime slow they need to have more people on when it gets busy
I've been donating for years and keep coming back for the extra money. The staff are all very friendly and I know a lot of them by first name. This makes donating relaxing and enjoyable. It is a very welcoming place! Emily B always gets my stick perfect!
Would rate higher but they have gone to s rewards system that you have to donate 6 plus times to get 5 bucks as a reward. Used to have higher pay outs now lower pay and this new rewards program that is the worst rewards program ever.
First off, the staff here are amazing. They are very friendly and do the best they can to make your donation go smooth. Unfortunately, they are severely understaffed. Current wait times are long...so plan accordingly. Hopefully they can adjust to the amount of donors and become more efficient sooner than later.
Ive always had very friendly and helpful staff even on busy days/times. Leese always greets with a smile and starts a convo so always happy when I get her. Nickolas was very friendly as well and asked how I was doing.
Pretty disappointed! I presented a coupon today before I even donated, only received 30 and not the 70 it should have been. Called about it and was told they applied the coupon while I was on the phone and unfortunately they can't back date so it'll start the next donation. Why?!? I did my part. Not trying to sound selfish, but I want what's owed to me!
I love this place! I have completed nearly 700 donations with no issues. Staff is great. The money is generous and it does really help people, it even saved my Grandpa's life once! I made almost $3600 last year and could have made more but I missed a few days. The people leaving negative reviews are obviously the type that complain about anything. Drink water the night before, be hydrated, your donations will go wonderful! Eat something before you go in for your own good. Do not get a tattoo or you have to
Biolife would be so much better if you would space the appointments out. I think it is silly how every time I go, I always have to wait 45 minutes to an hour+ just to get into my seat, especially when it's raining outside and getting cold. Today appointment took 2 hours and 45 minutes. One of the workers who was sticking needles into peoples arms obviously needed more training as I had personally witnessed with no exaggeration 5 misplaced pokes which ended up causing issues for people with at least one per
Old short haired lady needs to some discipline or retraining. I dread seeing her when walk in. She's been only nurse to make me use a squeeze thing when pumping. When poking finger she's gotten attitude cuz had other fingers minus one she's poking closed, when sticking my arm ive got lectured for having fist too straight or curved too much once had to wait to get disconnected for 3 other machines that all started beeping after mine to get disconnected b4 she let me go. Every time I get put in her section i
Not a horrible place to donate but seems some of the phlebotomists have some issues I used to donate years ago with no issues..I started to donate again this early fall started out not bad but seems Leftys have a hard time sticking my right side .this last time I had someone that seem to stick me correctly but as soon as I got the container full of blood it did not return she moved the needle around a bit then got someone else she to could not get it so they asked if the left side would be ok....she couldn'
The phlebotomist Cindy was very rude. Upon entering her section I waited to ask her where she would like eke to sit when she rudely said sit down while working with someone else. She also made a snarky comment about me to the person she was working on. When she finally started working with me I asked if she was having a rough day and she said no but was still rude to me and also to someone else that came into the section. A friend of mines entered the section and I told him I was a little annoyed and made a
Very hit and miss. Today I had the old lady and this is the second time I've had her both times have had serious problems. Here is my results from today after she stuck and poked around in my arm for 20 min. Other nurses are amazing she needs to be fired or retire. I shouldn't leave with my arm looking like this. Not worth the money when this is the results
Everyone is always pleasant even when it's in the early morning!
Techs don't know medical proceduer, went there and was told I had low protein. This was a false test due to the tech not wipping the first few drops of blood away from the initial price. After talking to management I was turned away. CMON BIOLIFE YOU NEED TO DO BETTER
I have been going to the Mankato, MN BioLife for almost 4 years and there are 2 individuals that are wonderful & go above and beyond there job. I have to say my favorite is Jordan he reminds me so much of my son as about the same age & personality. Jordan always has a smile on his face and for the most is the only one besides one other that can tackle my arm as very difficult. Jordan and I have been able to talk and tell stories and get to know each other that I bring him treats at least once a month & f
Staff overall is down to earth and genuine. Knowledgeable and well trained. Donated around 700 times and only had one miss. Overall they do their best to get you in and out in a timely manner.
I've only been donating through biolife for a couple weeks now, but every time I go in the staff seem easy going and competent in their work. Which can be relieving for anyone who is uncomfortable around needles. I've read several reviews about the staff being rude or inconsiderate towards customers, and I've seen a few behaviors that could be taken as "rude" by some. However, I take the behavior that I've seen as easy going and casual. For example, I had some small talk with the person who drew my blood an
Don't waste your time. Today I did all the preliminary tests, got to the bed and ready to be hooked up. I told the girl my back was sore in conversation. 5 minutes later the nurse shows up to say I can't give plasma, end of story. Says my back needs to heal. But we didn't have a conversation! How bad does it hurt? Does this happen often? Might it be muscle or need to be cracked? Nothing ! Glad I drive 30 minutes to get there. Don't waste your time
I've been donating at the Mankato location for more than a decade and I don't think I've ever had a bad experience. The employees are nice, polite, and well trained. Sometimes the lines are long, but the staff does their best to process everyone efficiently.
First I was turned away because I hadn't eaten, which I get. So I made an appointment for an hour later, went to eat and came back. Everything was fine, the lady that helped me was very nice. But when I was doing my questionnaire, I was thinking on a question and pulled out my phone for maybe 5 seconds to look at my calendar, was told I couldn't so I said alright and put it down and asked the lady about it, I missed that there was a timer, and got locked out for innactivity. I was told a nurse would go ove
I have been donating since BioLife opened. The employees are wonderful. They are kind, respectful and always have a smile on even at 6 in the morning. They are true professionals. I have to say Jen is great she always is so happy and friendly.
In October of 2021 I went to apply for a first time donor because I was referred by a friend when they were running their big campaign. One of my answers to their questions stopped the donation process as I had cancer in 2016. They sent paperwork into my primary doctor to verify. I was then told because my last treatment was October of 2017 that I could not donate until October 2022. So I returned this month to donate, they saw my cane and asked what it was for. I advised them that it was for my peripheral
This place is a joke. The first time I went I got skipped not once but 2 times to get sent home for low iron. Okay cool....the second time the lady was just rude! Instead of telling me ?hey you need to eat something? she shakes her head at me after I tell her what I've eaten, mind you I've never been here but once before, Tell me instead of shaking you're head isn't that your job?? I walked out and won't return.
The nurse on hand was very rude and they are understaffed and you spend more time waiting than actually donating. Have to wait a long time to get tested, wait again to get hooked and and wait again to get disconnected.
Everyone is very friendly and nice! I have very difficult veins, and a lot of scar tissue. They all do great, but Jen is the one I request Every time! Thanks for putting up with me Jen! :)
My husband has been donating for years and I finally decided to give it a try. I love coming here. Everyone is so friendly and the extra money is a plus! Glad I got over my nerves and can help save lives by relaxing for a few afternoons a week!
Been going here for awhile. Pretty solid spot. Would give one star because one of their employees doesn't appreciate good cinema. Fortunately, all other factors outweigh this.
The staff is amazing, very supportive and communicative. Never had a problem and I always enjoys my time there. It's mostly my time to relax and keep up with my emails after work.
I don't know how else to leave feedback so I'm here. This biolife is the worst I've been to. I understand it's nice to have a receptionist but why aren't they finger pricking while just sitting there and talking. In Appleton same flow of people and nobody waits, extremely inefficiently ran. Obviously something is wrong and needs to be fixed. Receptionists should be eliminated, someone can pull off and scan people in.
Awesome place! I've been coming for 3 years and have found the staff super friendly and accommodating. Because I am a difficult stick they always make sure to have the more experienced staff stick me. I can't say enough good things about this place.
Most of the women working there, especially the front desk were very gossipy. Don't bring mail that is personal because they will look through the whole thing (which is a complete invasion of privacy), not just at your address and date. Oh and better know your medical history very thoroughly or else they will think you're lying about having cancer.
Been giving at this facility for a year and on my annual physical was told by the nurse giving me the physical I was banded for life because I had a tattoo that was not on there checklist so I ?lied?. I was in the military for 20 years and a police officer for 15 and never been called liar. My very 1st donation went ok but on my 2nd one I was told I could not give because my 1st donation was milky. When I asked how and why this could happen I was told by an older big nurse, NOT a nice lady, I should have s
Thier in the business of Robbing you of your plasma. What a coincidence that I was and other people get rejected for high pulse rate. Funny how its never high on your first donation of the week. And trust me they are aware of what there doing. I'll never return to a BioLife center ever again. And I encourage everyone to do the same. Disgraceful I'm going to expose you . Lame.
If I could give zero stars I would. This center doesn't make time for its donors and staff is rude half the time. Staff gossips while putting the donor in, never ever had a problem at my old donation center. This one is just a downgrade.
This facility is a great place to make some extra money while at the same time helping out people. The staff are nice and knowledgeable, always taking proper sanitary precautions. The beds that you lay on are functional, with a little cubby for your jacket or other items. Plasma donations after your first visit typically take less than an hour. My only of criticism for this place the fact that their "regular" payout is pretty low compared to the value of processed plasma.
I honestly have to say the men's bathroom is the nastiest one I've ever been to, been going here over a year and it's never got better, the smell is enough to make you wonder if the rest of the place is even clean. Everyman that uses this bathroom walks in this urine and spreads it all threw the building, maybe make the staff use this bathroom..
Wow! First timer here. I was in and out in 3 hours. The process is extremely efficient the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with the entire experience. The facility was very clean and professional and waiting time was very minimal. I had a very pleasant experience and highly recommended biolife for those looking to donate plasma.
Scheduled to give for the first time at 1:05 pm. Checked in at 1:00, and sat in their ?lobby? until 2:10 pm. After drawing my blood and filling out about a 20 minute questionnaire I was told I can't donate due to my environmental allergies. Left the facility around 3:00 when they had said it should only take 1-2 hours total and I didn't even donate. Customer service was not good at all. If I sign up for an appointment days in advance for a certain time I expect to be helped at that specific time just like a
Super nice staff, it does get busy at times but that's why I donate when I'm free with nothing going on. Been going here for years I plan to continue to go to the Mankato location
I enjoy donating plasma. I feel I'm helping people lead a better life because of my donation. The staff is always kind and very knowable in what they have to do.
Polite staff, good pay bonuses, super clean facility
I have donated 3 times and was turned away maybe 5 times for various reasons such as high bp. So far every interaction has been pleasant and the pay is good. There was one younger lady who was dismissive to the point of being rude. I didn't react, but now I wish i had brought it to someones attention. If it happens again with her i will do so. Maybe if more people complain she will change her attitude, this would have been a perfect 5 stars If she could learn to be a human being. She is dragging the
I have been donating plasma since 2007. The employees are all friendly and become like family. They are caring and sympathetic when needed. Besides earning money for your time it feels great knowing you are saving lives. I would recommend everyone to try to give even if you don't like needles. You get use to it and can catch up on social media or watch a favorite movie during the less than 1 hour it takes to give.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
