For the first time in almost a year I walked away not in any pain because of hematoma. The staff was relaxed and not in a huge rush because they had enough staff there for the first time ever! I really did enjoy my experience and I'm happy to help others with my plasma donation
Great staff members and clean facility, but the waits are way too long. Outside of first time donors who get to skip all the lines, expect to wait 1 hr for screening and another 1-1.5hr for a bed. Not worth it for the regular donation amounts $$ Their new machines that are supposed to ?be quicker? haven't seemed to speed up the process at all. I've walked out twice now.
Decent employees but horrible service. Staff is very overworked. Went in for a donation at 6:50am and after waiting to be assigned a bed I got one at 7:30 and then sat there for another 40 minutes before anyone could make it to me, they then had to walk away multiple times because of his short-staffed they are. Watched several people who came in after I did, get helped first. I used to enjoy coming to donate, but now I don't think I'll be returning again, and will advise those I know to avoid here. You know
Appointments? Lol forget about it. The staffing is horrible and the office people dont help at all. Insane this place hasn't changed be prepared to wait for 3 hours for a bed. One person doing screenings and about 50 people waiting for a bed and screenings. Where's the owner or office manager on the floor? Don't come here i only came back because of a good coupon not worth it time is more valuable.
Thank you Shannon for letting me sit there for 30 minutes and not telling the rest of the staff I need to be retested only to cause me to have to have a confrontation with somebody because I felt like I was being ignored and Zack knew nothing about it. You walk past the hallway look me dead in my face three times over the course of that period that I was sitting there didn't even announce the fact that something might not be right and why was I still sitting there. Five people checked in and were sent back
The staff are amazing as always and it was pretty quick in and out. All 3 stars belong to the staff. The reason we are 3 starts not 5 is because of the $44 donation amount. ATMs go in 5 to 10 dollar increments making it impossible to withdraw $4.
Don't appreciate one of the employees (Sarah) coughing over everyone while she's setting them up with no protection, especially when most of the other employees use face shields. Not to mention she had to be corrected by another worker after leaving a donor with a needle in their arm but no blood flowing.
When I come to biolife, I know that the staff will go above and beyond to ensure that I have the best experience. Its people like Paige, Amanda, Catherine that make my experiences personally better. Great place to make some extra cash. I'm a notoriously hard stick and the techs here always ensure I'm taken care of.
1st visit, physical and donate. Everything and everyone was great. About 2.5 hrs. total and they were fairly busy. Looking forward to more.
I am grateful for the entire process each and every time you go in to donate. They make sure you are healthy enough to donate. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Sometimes they either overbook or are short staffed.
Lately, this specific BioLife center in Mentor, OH, has been acting as a SCAM, since today I was threatened with being indefinitely suspended as a Donor just because I made a verbal complaint on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, and then a written complaint on Friday, May 30th, 2025, about the abuse of making us wait and stay in the center for about four hours, and in my case, I was skipped my turn to be connected/hooked up with the machine for two people who were behind and after me in the order. Also, I had extra
Save your time going elsewhere For starters after promotions you're only making $105/week. CSL plasma pays more than that, and it's more comfortable. Place is always cold and the saline package feels practically frozen when it is injected into the veins. Literally hurts more than it should. Expect them to waste your time, I've been held back for an hour just to ask me a two second question.
First time visiting this morning! VERY clean facility. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff members, and the process wasn't too long! Definitely recommend
I have nothing but praise for the staff at BioLife. Even on the busiest of days, they keep their cool and carry on. They deserve a huge raise!
I've donated now over 400 times. The staff at Mentor Biolife are very well trained and are caring, friendly people. Most know me by name. For me personally, plasma saved my husband's life when he was fighting covid in 2021. I donate to help others and financial benefits me for things beyond my regular employment pay.
Great venue; very clean and friendly. It was unfortunately very far from my house. So once the initial promotion ended, it made it not worth an hour drive to donate. I wish there was a clinic closer to downtown at least.
The staff are very efficient and really make you feel comfortable with the process. Even when there's a lot of people there it moves fast. And the facility is clean.
My highest respect to a specific staff Amanda, at the BioLife Plasma, Emerald Ct, Mentor, OH center. Shes super good, she sticks pretty well and doesn? miss, very respectful and professional. Shes the only one at the center that stick me without pain
Bio life mentor location. Reason why I am giving one star is the fact they really need to work on there scheduling system they are allowing too many patients make appointments and they do not have enough staff to work with all the patients I recommend to add more staff as well to help with this. I donated 9 times so far and 6 out of those 9 visits I was there for 3 plus hours do to this issue at the end of the day the payment for donations is not worth it . Also I may add that some of the machines need repl
Had a 10:30 appointment on. Monday. Computer sign ins were having trouble and the people who do the preliminary testing had issues with equipment. Perhaps start a lil earlier and make sure all equipment is a go. Today was ridiculous.
Every time I come to this place they are under staffed every single time. And they drew blood from me 3 diff times for a mandatory lab testing. Somehow they had a problem with turning into get it graded. Place is a joke. Every time I went there there was something wrong on their end which they didn't do right. The nurses in the back are very very slow. U will sit in the chair for 30 mins before they even get you hooked up. So understaffed it's a joke. Every station is under staffed. Everytime I've went. Be
The staff here need a break or something they are rude very mean people that's why I haven't been back here in 2 years go to csl plasma in Cleveland it's worth it much better experience than these devils deferred me for a piercing I already told them about the liars had me wait all that time to tell me to leave ..never going back
I was blown away after witnessing the way another donor was treated today by a staff member. Miranda. She blatantly and very publicly treated the girl like garbage. It's one thing to be frustrated at work or just simply having a bad day and needing to vent to a co-worker but, it's quite another to treat someone so terribly and publicly insult them so loud and long enough that it got everyone's attention. Just because you're an "employee" does not give you the right to berate anyone, expecting no response.
Completely mismanaged for years.I was hopping things may have improved so I took advantage of there latest promo. They require scheduled appointments and over schedule constantly you will wait STANDING around for 1hour to 1-3/4 for a bed then 10-20 minutes for a needle to be put in then just as long to be removed. Entire process can take me just under 1 hour on the extremely rare occasion that they are operating efficiently 2-1/2 to 2-3/4 is there average. The owners are either morons or are happy to run t
Staff is wonderful, they are able to do their job cleanly and effectively, definitely seems they care about your experience. I'd give it a clean 5 stars if they had someone running the counter more often for new people. It can be a nerve wracking experience and you definitely want guidance as to what to do.
The people who work here are generally nice and competent but the facility is chronically understaffed and overbooked leading to hour long wait times standing in a line to be checked in and/or a second line to be put in a chair. Without any seating, these long lines are personally very uncomfortable and despite trying different hours and different days there seems to be no way of avoiding them. This could easily be solved by either increasing staff or decreasing available appointments.
The staff at the Mentor location are very friendly and caring. I had an issue where I was taking too long to donate and one of the nurses told me what the issue was and told me to drink a Gatorade a day and it would help my blood flow easier. So I did and it literally cut my time in half. I drink an obscene amount of water and it wasn't the issue. Thank you for caring enough to enlighten me. After donating today, I didn't feel completely drained. Not only that but they take the time to talk to people and
Clean facility. Extremely nice & professional staff! Comfortable donation area & ease of donating. Staff is trained & knowledgeable!
Staff at Mentor, Ohio location are great. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The process runs pretty smoothly. Definitely need more staff but that is just about every place nowadays.
Very nice staff! It is always packed and seems understaffed, there are whole sections unused. It has never taken less than an hour to get to a chair. I spend anywhere from 1hr to 1.5hrs to get to the actual donation that only takes 40 mins. Despite that everyone that works there is still very friendly.
Don't go unless you have 2.5 hours to wait. Absolute terrible operation and speed in Indianapolis. Bloomington is good though.
The employees are by and large pretty rude, and they have all manner of tricks and inconveniences they'll hit regulars that they don't want to deal with, like purposely setting the machines slow so your donation takes much longer, which is what happened on Saturday 12/28.
A nice facility and the staff is usually very nice and welcoming . But they are becoming too crowded and the wait times are getting ridiculous. 30-40 minutes wait up front and another 30-40 minutes in the back, then once you finally get on a couch another 10 minutes or more to be hooked up. Only half of the facility is being used, I'm sure because of staffing issues. I enjoy the process, and the extra money is nice to have, but 2.5-3 hours to donate is beyond reasonable. I wish they could get more staff, o
This place is a nice place with really nice staff. But it needs to stop the overbooking and understaff doesn't help! Having people there for 2 to 3 hours to donate! Covid still a thing incase you didn't know! If this continues I will no longer donate any more! Lots of people are saying the same thing. They will quit coming. Help us help you!
Amber was wonderful ! She took the time and explained everything in detail for me while she was doing a great job being totally professional. Also had a great experience with the rest of the staff. I am a true member for her life thanks, Amber and thanks to Laquita.
Everyone is very friendly! When I donated for the first time, I had staff walking me through the entire process. They take time to answer all questions and ensure 100% safety every donation. Very clean too!
Nice clean facility. But the staff is too slow.. There's a line anywhere between 12-15 people When they first open at 6 AM and there's usually 1 to 2 staff people checking you in and when you go to the back to start donating they are at least 10 to 12 people waiting for you to come in. It's extremely disappointing and stressful because you never know how long it will take for you to check in but once you check in, they're usually pretty smooth and quick and getting you hooked up to start donating. I wish th
They are always nice and try to get you in and out as fast as possible.
It's good extra cash and the people are nice. Just can be slow. FIFO...first in first out! It's frustrating when you sit first but watch others get hooked up before and when you're done first waiting for the people after you to get taken care of.
Clean and easy to find Facility, The staff that is there is always super friendly, however, I wish there were more of them because there's always a super long wait, no matter what time or what day you come. Overall, Great location, just be prepared to wait a little longer than anticipated.
The staff amazing and pleasant. Great experience overall
I just encountered today from 4- 420pm staff at protein ck with oink hair. I humbly asked ger a question and she flew off the handle . Her demeanor led me to believe shecwas going to fail me and I was right. She was nasty at hello. Then when I was told I couldn't donate she compliments my outfit and smiles sheepishly. Is this how African American clients are treated, because she was bubbly as ever with everyone else. Terrible 2nd trip. 1st trip I was made to read outlook in lobby and told if I can't compr
This center doesn't pay as much as others, is extremely slow, and the staff there are very unprofessional. Every other plasma center I've been to has been nicer and had a quicker process. Don't fall for the fake positive reviews, stay far away from this place. They don't even pay you a quarter of what your plasma is actually worth.
Paige is the best employee there and does a phenomenal job she has a gentle touch when it comes to sticking the needle in my arm and she never misses she always has a smile on her face and always has a positive attitude no matter what is going on. She is always full of joy and happiness I'm constantly laughing with her while I'm donating She should receive a promotion and a pay raise AGAIN SHE IS THE BEST y?all need more people like her. I can't stress it enough she is the best. Sincerely. Mr. Potato potat
The app told me that I'd receive $80 for my visit on 7/12 when I was done I only received $40 as there was an abnormal reading of my protein and since it wasn't my fault I shouldn't have got penalized for the error. I've been to other centers where the amount given wasn't right but the center as we know can override and make it right if they wanted too!
Fast everytime. Even when pack. Shannon always moves fast and takes care of you even by herself in the front. You have some good people that works here. From back to front. Thanks I never mind donating when it's like this. Hate rude people so when you actually get customer service why not come. Ladies stay doing what you do, really value you'll...
Very discouraging to donate these days. EXTREMELY UNDERSTAFFED. RIDICULOUS WAIT TIMES. I have walked out on more than one occasion. I would donate all the time if BioLife had enough staff scheduled to accommodate donors so they are not spending 2 to 3-1/2 hours donating. PLEASE HIRE MORE FOLKS TO STAFF ACCORDINGLY. PLEASE.
Some of the staff are really nice. They are professionals.
I just had my 4th visit. Everyone here is so professional and kind. I have been made to feel safe and comfortable since my first step in the door. I was very nervous my first time about what to expect but I was so pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, professionalism and friendly atmosphere. Staff happily answer all of my questions and take the time to make sure I feel safe and comfortable at all times. They make the entire process very efficient.
DON?T DONATE HERE!!! There are more professional plasma centers like the one in Chardon. I was turned away because my pulse was slightly too high after they made me move around and I also have social anxiety. My high pulse had nothing to do with health as I am in great shape. Colin needs to be terminated. Complete waste of my time standing in line for 40+ minutes to be turned away over practically nothing all because chrome dome douchebag Colin had a grudge when I've never even met him before.
Amber is too funny and very polite makes me laugh anytime i check in with her. and Miranda is very nice and welcoming for her to be new i think she did great!!
From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. You're welcomed with kindness, smiling faces abound, it's a light airy building that's well maintained. Experienced and caring hands will guide you and make it a pleasure to return.
The staff is always friendly and kind. The line can be long at times, which might be due to the schedule occasionally overbooking, but overall it's a great facility
The whole process from start to finish is easy and went pretty quickly. The facility was very clean and the staff is always nice and professional. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking to donate.
When it's not busy, there are no problems. All of the staff are extremely kind and all good at their jobs. When they are busy, they are dangerously understaffed. A single phlebotomist has 5-6 active IV?s with each donor changing every hour. They also have to process and move the plasma.. The workload is completely unmanageable. I had been here to donate 6-7 times before this incident when it was less busy and was very comfortable with every member of the staff. The hematoma I got in the last picture happen
I love it here. The staff are very nice and helpful. Miranda is very sweet and pleasant. The only thing I wish they could do better its the overbooking. It's annoying to wait sometimes more than 2 hours even though you made an appointment... but overall, It's been a great experience so far.
I went for my first time and it went really well. The tall blonde at the desk was super nice and helpful, as well as the other staff I spoke with. I'm not a very nervous person and i don't mind needles so it wasn't a painful or queasy process. It was pretty busy when I went and it still only took 2 hours (as they had estimated) for my physical and donation. Definitely worth going if you need some extra $$ and can handle it. I do struggle with low iron and I was still able to donate. Best time to come is du
I have had a very good experience with the donation process.
Lack of staffing, higher up people don't help out sometimes your in there for 3 hours. Why schedule appointments if you can't keep up with demand. It's insane and no one seems to care. Plus the new people don't know how to stick right half the time you get bruised on the first donation then it ruins the second time cause your bruised and can't go back lol. The place used to be run good but not anymore.
Today I had JT and Bri hooking me up and disconnecting me. They are by far two of the best phlebotomist there even though there are a lot of other great ones and some not very good. They are very attentive to their donors and don't stand around and talk while people are waiting to get hooked up like a few others do. Additionally being a difficult donor to find the right spot in they seem to do it every time. My donation time is anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes quicker than with some others. Once again the maj
I've been coming here for years, and plan to keep coming for lent years to come. Yes there are days I've had to wait longer than usual but the days I've come in and been in and out in 70 minutes balance it out. Pretty much everyone know me on a first name basis, and they go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. Even when they are sorry staffed I don't get attitude but a genuine thanks for being patient.
I have been going to this location for several years now. Very pleasant and friendly staff that makes each donation as painless as possible while having blood drawn. Staff makes an effort to put you at ease and the process is completed while I can take a break and catch up on shows on my tablet. There are fairly consistent promotions to increase the amount you receive for each visit. From the initial entrance survey to the final wrap around your arm it's a nice pause from the rest of the week when you can j
There was no wait. Staff was very nice, super easy to talk to, will even laugh at jokes. I'm just super disappointed I drove 40mins with all of my readings being perfectly in the middle of what is accepted. Besides I was nervous for my first visit and my heart rate was at 102. I waited a couple minutes and get it taken again and then it was at 103. I was told to come again tomorrow because it HAS to be 100 or less... but I can't afford the gas to get there tomorrow. I was counting on this visit and am left
I've been going there for a while. It use to be much better currently they are under staffed and half of the staff I feel is under trained. Constantly having problems with being stuck only a few good ones left rest have left or are leaving. Then the compensation right now is awful almost not worth the time used to get coupons and promotions anymore it's a joke just my opinion.
When I first started, I was nervous about donating, but all of the staff here are great. They will answer any questions or concerns you have. I had a bad reaction the first time I donated and they immediately were by my side to help me out and comfort me. Kristan is so helpful and sweet in particular. The facility is clean and well-run. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to start donating.
Always a line other than that it's great waited close to about 2 hours to get a chair to donate. If you don't mind waiting 2 plus hours. I don't get it. How they can't get more people to work to make the line go faster. Also to test they have one person with close to 60 people waiting to get tested. This will definitely be my last time donating this place is a joke.
The gang in the back is great. But it is piss poorly run by management up front. They couldn't lead an army of ants to a piece of bread. They can't or won't hire workers to get you in and out but they will keep taking more and more people to donate. Plus, if the workers in the back keep quitting, that must mean management cannot do their job or probably couldn't even be a door greeter at Walmart. I've done this for close to two years now and it looks like I'm done. Two plus hours is a joke. You're not putti
Turned away by an unfriendly male nurse who insisted I have current lab results of a hemoglobin A1C test before donating plasma. The app told me that I'd receive $80 for my visit and it was changed to $40. Luckily, I didn't waste my time donating for so little money.
Busy times are busy. Routine visit took over 2hrs today, most times can get in and out in about an hour. Not sure why app has appointments, get there in plenty of time for scheduled app and still might have to wait a while. Not complaining its busy but what is the point of an appointment scheduler if they don't really keep any appointments?
The people are always friendly and caring. Only thing is wish tge company did more for donors that consistently donate. There is always stuff for new donors and to get you to return but not much appreciation for regular donors.
I don't know how this has a 4.1 rating?Haven't been here in over 6 months and only came back for a promotion. Still just as awfully run as before. In the past I stopped coming because there was multiple instances of not being hooked up right resulting in blood loss. I get the long wait times if there are huge crowds and not enough staff but what about when there is barely anyone? I sat in a chair for 40 mins before being hooked up after having been here for over 2 hours due to the physical requirement. I re
As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm smile . Everyone from the front desk to the technician explained everything every step of the way. Everything was clean and a calming atmosphere.
This location has gone from worst to first. After reducing the number of appointments per time slot, the wait and donation times are much more manageable. Visits have gone from 3 hours to just over an hour. The whole staff has been very nice and professional during these tough times. A special shout-out to Paige and Kristian for their level of teamwork and enjoyable. They made tonight?s visit very welcoming. I would highly recommend becoming a donor at this location. Helping others is rewarding but the pay
Absurdly clean environment which is greatly appreciated, staff is always friendly & professional! I don't go anywhere else when I donate.
I want to point out and thank Jackie, Sarah and the supervisor at this mentor location. I had a problem with a coupon not processing correctly and wasn't paid the right amount when I donated. I called and asked about the issue and everyone was very accommodating and helpful through out the whole way. They resolved my issue and I ended up being paid the correct amount. I've been going here for about 10 years and will keep doing so because the workers are all very professional and make it an easy process ever
My recent and first time visit to this place was extremely satisfactory. The grounds inside and out are very well kept. This facility is very clean from the restrooms and through to the plasma area. This place has ample parking and is easily seen from the main road. The entire staff from the reception desk, precheck, physicians and plasma technicians are highly knowledgeable in their respective areas of expertise. I was made to feel comfortable, confident and secure (made aware of the process step by step)
At a point of time I was excited about going to BioLife but after what I experienced today I unfortunately will not be returning. I felt that my time was played with and even though I attempted to speak up for myself I was ignored and after the fact found out my time was wasted. Customer Service is a very fundamental step in any work environment. That wasn't the case just because a staff member is new or unknowable doesn't mean it can be pushed aside. Luckily I was able to continue with my day on thin ice b
Staff is professional, friendly and caring. Facility is clean and I always look forward to a great experience donating.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. As a long time donor, watching them ease in new donors really makes everyone more comfortable.
The Donation process shouldn't take as long as it's been taking (3 hours +). Extensive wait times, with no seat accommodation's. Also with inflation worldwide, the weekly pay out should be raised well over a 100 dollars a week.
I quit going here a while ago and only came back because I was offered $600 in 3 donations. Nothing has changed. Still accepting entirely too many donors than what they are staffed for. If you don't have at least 3 hours to waste, I wouldn't come. You will never get out quickly. They require an appt but I'm not sure why since you have to wait anyway. You'd think that would?ve cut down on how many donors they have per day but it only seems like it has increased. You should only take so many donors per hour a
I have some of the best plasma-donating experiences here.
Everyone here is great and personable but professional. They get you in and out without any pain and make sure you are well
Sometimes short staffed, but they do a best they can with labor issues. Most everyone is friendly, Paige though, she's awesome sauce. Yknow that feeling when you're super hot and that moment you feel a blast of A/C when you walk into a store? That's the Paige experience. I would pay her to stab me with needles on the reg. She's the wind beneath my plasma wings.
They book so many appointments here it's insane then you wait for 3 hours cause the nurses sit up at the desk and talk about non work stuff while there is massive lines. The staffing is still horrible but Cheyenne is amazing and is the best worker there she should get a massive raise.
Minus the long wait because they are under staffed, the employees are awesome. Everyone there makes you feel comfortable. The woman that run the back are awesome and can't say enough about then. I will say to bio life if your going to give out big bonus for the first month people you should do more for the people that come there months after months not the one and done people
Have used Biolife Mentor for years. Well run location, personnel are top notch, clean, efficient and exceeded my expectations. They truly care about your well being and are very protective of their donors. Nice little side gig to make some extra change. I would highly recommend this location.
The associates at Mentor Ohio Biolife are amazing. They work hard and long and need to be recognized by the corporation for the effort they put into working for this company!! They have a lot of donors and a skeleton crew but they get it done. Coodos.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
