First month pay is good. After that it falls to $135/week (2 visits) or less. At the moment it's only $90/week (2 visits). Expect 45 minutes to 1 1/4 hour wait to get into the chair. Then donation time depends on you & your machine. For me, it's about 45 minutes in the chair. Some employees are very professional, caring, and capable. But some are busy talking about their lunch plans or joking, not really paying attention to clients. There must also be a lot of turnover. Some are good at "sticking".
Not a great experience. This was my second time donating plasma. I decided to try the Newark location because it was a little closer to home. However, unlike the Towson location they seemed very under staffed and due to that I walked out with a nasty hematoma and without being able to donate. I understand that you always run the risk of getting a hematoma when donating, but unlike my first donation the phlebotomist didn't take there time and ended up giving me a bad stick. This resulted in them fishing
Biolife is respectful with the financial compensation in your first 8 donations but after your first 8 they do not care about their loyal donors. You never know how long you are going to be there and most employees do not have any sense of urgency and do not care if they waste your time or not. The best tech there is easily Breanna. If you are lucky she will be your tech. If only she could be cloned. She is the only one that respects your time and is very professional. A lot of employees are too busy compla
This is becoming not worth my time. These "phlebotomists" are slooooow, my compensation trickles down just about every week, my wife gets promos and I don't? Wth is that? if they worked a little faster it MIGHT be worth my time, but $40 a visit isn't worth someone putting needles in me wrong anymore. I know we're donating and all, but you guys aren't exactly "donating" either and done being ripped off. UPDATE: They still suck, thought I'd give it another shot. Almost 20 people in line last night, 2 people
Hello. So today was pretty eventful. I saw staff treating a woman and her 2 kids so badly today around 1pm I felt so bad and I actually walked out and talked to the mom and found her situation is horrible and the staff need to be way more understanding!! The Woman is homeless and was trying to get out of the rain/cold with her two children while her boyfriend donated so they could get a hotel room for the night and I heard a female staff member say it was ok for her to come in every once in a while but li
The techs are so pleasant to conversate with throughout the whole process of donating. Prescreening Techs and the Back bed techs. Each one is LoveLy and I never have an negative experrinces. In All the donations I've ever done, ive only had a hematoma ONCE. It just happened and I dont blame anyone, but my arm.... ??
The nurse JB was very helpful. He helped me understand the importance of this and the process of what was about to happen. He also helped me relax. Octavia got me started and was very professional. She was showing someone what to do when it was time to unhook a donor. It was amazing to watch her teach someone.
The people are great! Unfortunately, they seem to be understaffed most days, which leads to long waits. For example, my wife, who was there today, had an appointment for 7:35, finally made it to a chair and hooked up at 9:05
First time donating plasma. Everyone was helpful and informative during my registration process. The tech made sure I was doing well and had me stay back to make sure I was fine after the process.
The facility is clean and organized. The staff at the Delaware location are very friendly and helpful. And the best part was that it was quick and painless for me because I was hydrated and ate a big meal before I went. I was also compensated for my time.
My experience at biolife plasma was overall very positive. The facility itself is very clean and well staffed- It doesn't at all feel seedy, unclean or unprofessional. The staff itself was very helpful, my nurse J.B was very kind and helped me feel at ease before starting my donation. If you're looking to help your community and be fairly compensated for it, I can't recommend a better place.
First day was great but I can back my second visit and they could not get my blood and plasm to work with the machine. I was told that maybe my veins were too small so come back next week. I now have bruises on both of my arms. They try both of my arms and it didn't work. I gave blood and plasma last year at a different place and everything was fine. Not happy right now. My wife suggest that I do not return. I know it doesn't look pretty.
I wanted to donate plasma to do something good and to earn some money as a college student. I thought this was going to be a great experience? wrong! The first day I went there I was told I needed my ORIGINAL social security card. I live at college and all my forms and documents are back home. I had a copy of it and thought that would be enough. I will say a lot of the employees are kind of rude. I'm not expecting everyone to be bright and bubbly but it would be nice to be greeting and treating nicely. Ther
Been going to the Deptford location twice a week since April without a single issue. I start going to this location due to convenience from work, but today I get flagged for a ?counseling session? for what was described to me as ?a little BO? and wasn't allowed to donate. It was explained to that counseling sessions happen out of courtesy for the technicians and other guests, for smells related to body odor, marijuana, and other otherwise unpleasant ones. I wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't for the outrig
BioLife It's like the best center In Delaware out of all the centers in the Delaware area BioLife Is the best one very professional the staff is great all of them shout out to the staff I don't know all their names, but they know who I'm talking about I was going to CSL I stopped going last year in October and started going BioLife CSL is so ghetto in trash unprofessional B positive Plasma center is corny they take too much plasma from you BioLife It's where it's at people always bashing and talking abo
I'm a transitioning donor from CSL Plasma to BioLife and the new donor process has been the best I've experienced so far! I recommend this facility for their professionalism, helpful staff and welcoming environment. I'd like to give a big shout out to J.B for being the best nurse ever!
Bio life has great staff all around. Very friendly and great energy. JB did my evaluation and he was awesome.
Terrible, Employees selfish, went to donate and they left my arm bruised for 2 weeks. Employees always with an attituted, they sure do not considere the donors let along how they feel. Worst donating place. Thanks to your attituted and lack of consideration, you will lose donors
My first time giving plasma. The staff was super kind and helpful. Everyone I spoke with was very knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions I had. The facility was very clean.
I've been donating here since February 2024. I can count on one hand the times I've had issues. Everyone at this center is friendly, knowledgeable and makes donation time easy. I've never had an excessive wait time. Even when this center is short staffed they don't show it. I actually enjoy my hour with the Newark DE crew. Everyone is absolutely awesome!
Rhonda @ the Christiana location is so kind! I almost wasted a trip, but I was having an issue with my fingerprint and she made sure that I didn't waste my visit. She has such wonderful people skills & she's so helpful! Tamyra was also the best!! I felt completely comfortable when I was talking to her & she was so helpful.
The facility is well staffed, organized & clean. The staff here is phenomenal! Every single staff member I've encountered has been friendly, courteous & professional - even when they're extremely busy & often taking on multiple roles, they do it with a smile! They really make you feel welcomed, comfortable & at ease.
Ben , my intake Nurse was awesome. My only complaint is that the website and email confirmations all said expect to be there 2 hours and it took over four hours. The actual donation only took an hour, but the waiting for the check in and physicals took forever. I will be back?.soon!
Turned away for being 6 mins past cut off time. First time here, drove 45 mins & sat in heavy traffic. Waste of my time, $, & effort.
I have donated 3 times so far. The facility is very clean and the employees are very kind. Rhonda was amazing during my first donation. I've noticed Apryl is always in a good mood as well. Definitely looking forward to continuing donating.
I recently completed my second donation at the Delaware location. As is standard, my arm was bandaged after I completed the donation. However, I took the bandage off several hours after it was applied, and the injection site on my arm was still bleeding. I tried to call the center several times to ask why this happened, but they never answered the phone. I find this very concerning and very disappointing.
Recently, management & staffing has become an issue at this location. Some of the staff are lovely, but others like to hang up on you when your appointment is canceled due to staffing issues that are becoming more prevalent. When workers are complaining to clients about being overworked and business hours aren't honored because of callouts, then management should be hiring more or stepping up themselves. This location started out great but has been going downhill since opening. On top of that, payment amo
I come in for my 10:30 appointment. There are 4 people ahead of me at screening. It takes 30 minutes to get through the screening process. They are severely understaffed for the amount of appointments they allow. Most, not all, of the employees work without any sense of urgency. It is now 11:00 and I'm done with the screening. I now stand in line to sit down in one of the chairs. There are 5 people ahead of me. It takes over 25 minutes to finally have a chair to sit in. Then I wait for 15 minutes to be stuc
Could be better organized to speed up the process. Muliple people waiting to be taken care of wether it be starting or when finished. Management seems to be a little lax on communication and direction with employees. Seems to be a lot confusion and wasted time.
BioLife is the best !! Way better then crackhead city ( CSL, B-Positive) I've dealt with BioLife both on the West Coast ( Ming Ave . Bakersfield, CA.) and here on the East Coast ( Churchman's Road location) and the staff are definitely way better and knowledgeable then any other plasma center I've dealt with ..I'll never deal with another agency other then BioLife..
While my husband was donating plasma, they kicked me out - saying that because I wasn't donating, I couldn't remain in the building, though the last time I had been permitted to do so, at that same location, and when they allowed others to bring in a second member who wasn't donating either! It was incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional, not to mention hypocritical. Definitely reporting them. Beware that location in Newark, DE.
I just wanted to give a kudos to Mia & Trish. Who stuck me to donate plasma? It was pain-free and no bruises also. Paris was also very helpful in my screening. I always look forward to my visits. Everyone is friendly and professional
I came in here at 6am to donate on 12/31/24 i was told that i only have one vein in one arm which isnt true! I have donated here and other centers with both arms. I woke up for nothing to come here when I could have scheduled at another center. I no longer want to come to this establishment due to the lack of customer service and professionalosm
The intake nurse CJ i think his name was is awesome. Very clean and fast. Extremely well staffed
The facility is very clean, the employees are ALL very helpful, explain the process thoroughly. Because there is sometimes a wait I've been able to see other people go thru the screening process while waiting and have watched how compassionate the workers are with each individual and how they each give tips to the clients about streamlining the process and the steps on what to do the next time they arrive. Each experience has been A+++ for me
As of March 31,2025 current employees are great just seem short handed on Wednesdays and donation takes much longer than expected. For the last month donation amount given is low need to increase amount. Thank you.
What I thought would be an hour, turns into 2.5 hours, due to the lack of beds open (or honestly, lack of workers). Many of the workers are friendly and competent, but there are a few?I left without a complete donation, because I couldn't get ?stuck? correctly. I now have two largely bruised arms and cannot donate for another week or so, until I heal. This has happened twice in 2 months. The other place I donated plasma, I never had this much trouble. I realize that there is always training to be done, but
It's not bad most of the workers are nice except a few of them that can sound very condescending and rude at times. I noticed they finally hired extra people and a girl in the front .. it was much needed. However last time I was here 9/20/24 I was in the middle of my session when a girl next to me got seated by one of the nurses.. we were in the blue section. The people that were corresponded in that section were not busy as much as I noticed that if anything, they were all huddled up with other workers jus
When you have to go see the nurse and your the only one sitting first thing in the morning and had her door open shuts her door and I waited approximately 25 minutes wile ten people went in front of me yeah that's a problem as I only had a very light bruise on my right arm the woman who checked me in said I HAD to see the nurse! I feel you should compensate me with a promotion for making me wait for so long for nothing!
I used to go in fl n I loved the way they treated me but when I saw they were in Wilmington I got excited and they didn't let me down. Great place awesome ppl? I came to stay
Just donated yesterday as a new donor and had a wonderful experience. The center was clean, donation process was fairly easy and quick, the staff was very professional and explaining the risk as well as having you sit for 15 minutes before leaving out to make sure you don't faint or have an adverse reaction. The staff here cares about you and will not let you donate if you have not eaten a good meal or if you look unwell. They do not play about patient vitals and making sure you're healthy enough to donate.
this place is just run very poorly & they truly need a change of policies or a change of staff. i can't even count on one hand the amount of problems i have had here. their staff walks around having conversations with each other while people are still waiting to be talked to in the first place. I have went to biolife 5 different times and every time, they came up with a different reason as to why i couldn't donate. it seems that they are always looking for a reason to turn people away, regardless of the 2 h
Today I had Jasmine handle my donation hook up. She was amazing ! She ran the aisle like an oiled machine. Super thorough and kind and very efficient at her job. No pain during the needle hook up. She did an amazing job !!
Yasss Ms Rhonda is the best ever! She is a genuine soul and she loves the work she does. She is very helpful and full of energy and good spirits. She is the best Nurse they ever had!
They staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The Screening staff are gentle handling each step. I love them music they play and the Greetings and Goodbyes. April, Deborah, and they others work well as a team.
Handled with care, compassion and respect I enjoyed every bit of today's session
Just left my donation after experiencing some childish mess in here . You hand me a card someone comes to you and says I told you not to put her with me . The interaction was completely unprofessional and rude .
Best plasma donation center in delaware , most times in and out fast. Staff is professional, and full of bad jawns . Kay is one of the best ??
Staff is friendly but if you go here even with an appointment time expect about an hour and a half wait no matter the day or time of appointment.
Rhonda was AMAZING, I actually had a very enjoyable experience. I hope she is here every time I am here. All the staff was so kind.
Not terrible last time I went I signed up for that deal but yea after that it's just like that at other companies the beginning is great and worth it but after them 30 days they keep saying donate more for more rewards but it's just false hope to get you in then you fight for it literally. You can get jab then if don't work tell you if you want payment you have to jab other arm and if you lucky that won't work and you do get payment for your time. But for what we got to go threw should be 100 plus for every
I enjoy coming here. It's for a good cause and you get paid a little something for helping out. This location is very understaffed though. I wish the allotment for appointment times matched the people they had working a shift. It's a good experience but just know you're probably going to be here longer than you anticipate.
I give the staff 5 stars they are always friendly and professional and the building is clean. However if going there after 11 am the wait is insanely long I work a full time job and waiting for hours is just time that I don't have, I also work night shift so having earlier hours would be a nice perk the fact that BioLife doesn't open till 9 means I have to find something tod for 2 Hours before I can go home and sleep. Also the business being closed on Mondays really limited my ability to schedule and fulf
They don't know how to work with people at all. I did appointment For my father. They didn't accept it because he can't speak English??????question. ???????Why do they need English? Answer in the comments if you can????What does this refer to if you only give them blood, ??????I wanted to translate into English myself, they don't agree
I absolutely love the culture of this location. As we all know, it isn't just the rules and regulations that makes a culture but the people as well. Trevor is great! He took care of me and was very kind and gentle from start to finish. If that wasn't delightful enough, I then spoke to the store manager Chris B., who also was very pleasant. He gave me thorough background information regarding the honesty and integrity of the business, and that made all the difference for me. Lastly, thanks to Chris the regio
I really enjoy coming to this facility. I have to say though, I find it very frustrating when there is a line of 20+ donors, and yet there are empty beds and nurses not hustling to get them filled. I'd rather be waiting in a donation bed instead of standing against the wall. Managment, either hire more staff or step up and work harder with your people. Nurses, help your techs stick needles. I get it, you'll hit your quota either way, but have some decency when it comes to customer appreciation. Very unsa
The facility is very clean, and the staff are professional, as well as helpful, and friendly. But as for my last 6 or 7 donations, my heart rate has been an issue. Basically out of 7 times I've went recently, I only was able to donate maybe twice. It totally sucks to wait in line, and go through the screening process, to only be denied. The extra money really helps, but my heart rate has apparently been too high. IDK
Today was my first time donating. Rhonda was amazing at explaining everything and answering all my questions. It definitely put all my worries at ease.
I donated for the first time today and had a great experience. Despite the donation location being busy, I did not have to wait too long to be checked in and have the screening process completed. The technicians and managers were friendly, and they also walked you through what to expect to ease any anxiety. I look forward to donating again at this location!
Very professional and thorough. Staff is nice and the facility is very clean.
The first time I donated, the experience was great with the training staff there, the next two times there were difficulties with getting the needle right, and the fourth time I was in they told me I could not donate because they needed to test my blood, so I spent 45 minutes there for that. In addition to missing on a donation day and 2 or 3 more in the 7-10 day period, I now also will not be able to complete my coupon. When I asked about that I was just told that I signed a consent form.
had my appointment, got seen immediately, quick donation time and hardly felt the needle. April, Bree and Bia were great
it's great! unfortunately the last time I donated I got a hematoma but other than that it's amazing
I had a 3:30 appointment and didn't get seated for donation until 4:15. My donation was completed at 5 but the phlebotomist kept helping other people while my bell kept going off and wasn't even going to come back to unhook me unless I called out to her and asked her to let me go. I pay $18 an hour for a babysitter to come over so I can come donate so the longer I have to sit there, the less it makes sense for me to donate. I spent $90 on a babysitter yesterday and I made $90 for donating. So basically, I w
So far the donating experience has been running very smoothly the last few weeks.
I was so pleased with my plasma donation experience today. Julian has THE best bedside manner. He is so pleasant, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was in such a terrible mood when I arrived, and he brightened my day with his thoughtfulness. The site is clean and there is ample parking available. I was pleased with the wait time. Thanks BioLife!
Came in for my first donation of the week and one of the phlebotomist had set up the machine wrong so they had to end me and I had some blood loss, they did pay me, but told me if I have another blood loss I am deferred for 8 weeks. Come in today to donate and get my vitals done and they tell me my protein is way high because someone before her did not clean the machine so I was not able to donate. This is totally unacceptable and you need to retrain your employees. This place seems to be going downhill.
I called as a New Donor for more info, they explain the process and tell me to come on in. I drive 1hr from Dover only to be turned away bc an appt. is required for donating. Ok. I schedule only appt available 1 month out? august 22: I drive 1hr again and it's a 2hour process of wait, intake, questionnaire, and evaluation. A nurse pulled me from the New Donor line to discuss my questionnaire. She said it is a Problem that I answered ?Yes? to having ptsd, despite it being from an unrelated childhood inciden
On my very 1st visit, I was very well taken care of from the front of the house to the back. I appreciate the great service from Chris B., Oliver, and Tasha. There were others but I didn't get their names. Very friendly and down-to-earth staff! I was also well taken care of by Ms Reed on my 2nd vision! Thank you all for excellent customer service!!!
Chris B & Trevor were absolutely wonderful with their customer service. They were friendly, as well as explained any questions I had. They made me feel comfortable the whole process. The plasma donation was easy for my first time, it's something that I'd recommend this for any & everyone to do, because you're helping save lives! I will be recommending others to donate.
If you donate at other places, you may not qualify here if they can't find multiple veins. Very weird and strict policy. I wasted hours here, only to get to the chair and be told that I didn't have enough good veins. I left, went to CSL Plasma down the street. I HAD NO ISSUES AND A FAST DONATION. I also got paid the same. Make this place your very last choice.
Everything was great?but, they need more soap sanitizer things and refill the existing ones . Bathroom needs a foot pull or something so you don't have to touch the door pull. More chairs cause you're always waiting. But way better then cal? armed guards are necessary?
I've been going to this location for a year and have been very happy with it! Paris at the vitals desk is always happy and knows what she is talking about. I would and have recommended this place to anyone.
Don't donate your plasma! First, they get thousands of dollars for your precious plasma and give you pennies on a dollar. Second, they will claim that your blood tested positive, false positive, or antibodies for syphilis. They had me f?d up! Someone who keep the commandments, I'm not married so I don't sleep around, never had no type of anything, and this is what they tell me 2 times (2022 & 2024). I prove them wrong the 1st time after I confirmed I was negative with no traces of antibodies in my blood.
The service was great other than my partners significant bruising on her dominant arm. She has been in constant pain since our departure and can barely move her arm without wincing. They put an ice pack and wrapped it so tightly around her arm, I thought her circulation was cutting off. I thought it was normal until I see this golf ball sized bruise on her arm, like they swished the needle around in her flesh. She literally broke down when we parked because she's already weary of doctors. We took all the re
One of the cleanest and well staffed facilities. Chris C. was very informative and super helpful through the whole process.
Shout out to Bre for great customer service! She is consistently upbeat and positive, communicates very well, lets you know she will get to you soon - so you don't feel forgotten, and checks on you just the right amount. She's always willing to help if other phlebotomists are backed up. Thank you Bre!
Honestly the first couple times was fine but the 3rd visit on there was some problems. There's was a problem when I was donating they had to stop and, rush me to the nurse because there was bubble in my arm. The next time girl that was in the orange section was flustered because all the patients were getting done snd there was no one to help her. She jabbed the needle in my arm and I was uncomfortable the whole time I was giving plasma. My arm was in so much the whole time. It was hard to make a fist becaus
So I was suppose to have an appt at 10am so I show up 30min early like any good veteran. The intake was fine but by the time I got to the nurse for a physical it was already almost 1230-1pm and have already been there a long enough time. I was told to wait in a room for a physical and they never came and tried to tell me they were looking for me when I haven't moved from my seat. Wanted me to come back because they were over booked and only had 1 nurse. CSL Plasma treated me better
The people and the donation center were excellent but after the first month of donations you as a company become ridiculous. You pay $200/210 for 2 donations a week for the first eight donations and then you offer $120 for two donations in one week after the initial offer. Treat returning donors the same as new donors!!!!
Kiki is the best tech in the place. She's always so nice, and she always has a smile on her face. She never misses a stick and she's quick with the needle. 10/10
545 ML in this arm received a hematoma tried the other arm and was told i was deferred unprofessional staff
I was having a panic attack when stopping in to donate Trevor saw I was upset talked me through it and personally took care of me. Definitely above and beyond his job description! What a great person to have on your team!
Great people and easy to do and it s I love the people and I love donating but I just didn't like how they changed the money situation I'm doing this also to help me pay my bills cuz I'm in between jobs and now I got $40 instead of 70 or 80 other than that no problem glad I can help specially to save a life.
Pleasant and professional staff. Clean facility. Usually a quick turnaround.
Everyone there has energy and makes the donation experience positive. Ronda was also very down to earth person!
The Newark, DE BioLife Plasma Center is a clean environment with kind, warm and friendly staff. At your first visit there are many steps to follow but you will have the swing of it by your second visit. Make sure to arrive about 10 mins early so you don't miss your check in window. The donation process is keeps your personal information very safe and secure. It is a pleasure to be able to help others with my plasma donation.
Extremely disappointed with this place. I had gone in Nov 11 as a new patient and went through all the steps to qualify as a new donor and mentioned about a medical incident I had back in like 2008, which they then wanted clearance from my doctor to be deemed fit to proceed with donating plasma. So on Nov 13 and Nov 14 my doctors office faxed over the paper to them 4 times and they told me that the doctor there at the facility will go over it and then I'll be called about it and have never received a single
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
