I feel that Most the staff is very friendly but i have had a few rude encounters over the years. You do have to be patient it is what it is. I know some days the line feels like forever but member everywhere is short staffed these days. Be kind. I feel once your hooked up it goes pretty fast. Place is very clean.
Here's a review based on your experience: I had a terrible experience as a first-time donor at BioLife. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the entire process. I originally scheduled an appointment, but when I arrived, they told me to reschedule for two days later?fine, no problem. When I returned, they said I needed a vein check and couldn't donate in the shirt I was wearing, which I understood. However, instead of simply informing me, one staff member made an unnecessary comment ab
Unable to donate today as I checked in for my appt 10 min early @1:20. By 2:05 I was still standing in line waiting for a chair. I had another appt elsewhere (close by) @3:00 and I knew there was no way I would be seated, started, donate and disconnected in that time frame. There were 4 units open but none of them had all 5 chairs filled. And there was not a smile to be found on any employees face. I've worked in healthcare a long time and no matter what the workplace is like, you still smile and make your
I was a returning donor at BioLife, and I had high hopes for my visit after being away for a while. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The nurse who assisted me, Jesse, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I anticipated that I would only need a physical, but when he asked for a picture ID and I didn't have my wallet, he simply said, "I can't help you," and walked away. There was no effort to find a solution or even a suggestion to return another time. This lack of support and empathy
I stopped going because of the awful scheduling. If I sign up to donate at 6, I should be donating by at least 6:15, not an hour after I sign up. Hire better management/staff and figure it out. I used to go to donate here when I was younger and there were never any absurd wait times.
I always have a great experience at BioLife with Christina G. She is fast and efficient and friendly. And I never have any discomfort when getting connected. Thank you Christina G!
I love giving plasma, it feel rewarding. I only give 1 time a week due to it is 60 miles one way. So only come once and when getting $45 it doesn't pay. Everyone is so nice and friendly
Christina G. did an amazing job! It was my first time donating and she continued to check on me to see if I was doing okay. All the staff were very friendly as well!
1st appointment is about 2 hours long. But went by super fast! They are great and fast and clean.. highly recommend. Approval odds are based on hydration and protein. Do your research before going in to donate!
Wanted to give a shout out to Christina G. She does an exceptional job every time and you don't even feel the needle go into your arm. She also knows great music with her Hair Nation choice.
Christina G. has been very helpful in my experiences with BioLife. She was one of the few who could get the process to be completed correctly.
If I could go less stars I would. It is honestly the worst biolife I've ever been to. They always are severely understaffed and the staff that is there go about everything so incredibly slowly, even the checking in is bad. Overall everytime I go to this one it makes me want to quit donating more and more
At first, I was anxious about giving plasma. Going through the process was really smooth. The staff are nice and reassuring. They give you a lot of information about the whole thing. The place is very clean. Everything usually goes fast, but once or twice there's been a rush and it slows down a little. It wasn't a problem for me, but don't be surprised if you spend an extra hour in line here. They're hiring more people though. Some of the phlebotomists are better than others at putting the needle in, but it
There are a few not welcoming workers here. We already were nervous about donating and then the workers were not friendly. Some of them were very snarky and made rude comments as if we didn't know what we were doing. We will be finding a different place to go to. If you want people to go to you be kind!
One of the phlebotomists here named Christina, she's maybe around 40 years old. Very rude and disrespectful. Very bitchy. Definitely don't recommend having her do your donation
Great staff! Very attentive and really nice atmosphere! Very clean and welcoming! Christina G is a real smooth phlebotomist , barely felt it go in and she's fun to talk to! They are a rockstar crew ;)
Shelley is amazing. She makes her donors feel so comfortable, always has a smile, no matter how busy she is. Her kindness makes up for some phlebotomists who never smile??
All staff are friendly. There are a select few people there that can do a good stick with the needle. Lines are always long. The thing that gets me the most is that I can't help to notice how every time after I visit this facility I end up getting extremely sick. I have had influenza, the common cold, and the stomach flu. I have since stopped donating because I cant stand being sick anymore.
Wait time sometimes is longer but overall good experience. Every one is friendly and helpful. I've been coming off and on for about 4 years and the new faster machines are great. Wait times have improved but could still be better.
I've been coming to the onalaska location for couple years. Shelly has been a constant the whole time. She's amazing. Never have any problems with stick or hookup. Always puts smile on my face. If only I could make reservations to be in her section only.
Technical difficulties are a normal thing and have very little resolve to them, staff members will make the line longer by putting random people in front of the donation line due to ?special? privileges and floor staff got backed up due to annual training while in the middle of hooking patients up. Definitely crave out more time then you need if you're looking to donate
Christina G did a amazing job polite and stuck needle with no pain
normally this place is pretty good but some of the people who put the needle in could definitely do a better job! about 4 of 6 times have been pretty painful and pinched so bad! but my main issue right now is the last time I went my appointment was at 4:55 and I got there 5 mins early but I didn't get processed and into a chair until about 6pm! and now today I showed up 5 mins too late for them to let me in and get processed! so I drove almost an hour for nothing! even though they made me wait an obscene am
All 5 stars go to Kalei. She took my first donation and made it an enjoyable experience after a not so great start. When I came back for my second donation I ended up in her section, once again she was very kind and always had a smile on her face.
1st time donor. Everything went smooth. Christina G was amazing. Very informative and helpful.
2 stars for a few reasons. This is not an ?easy? way to make extra money it's actually very time and energy consuming. 1st time I went I brought my son and they let me stand in like for about 20 minutes before finally letting me know he couldn't be there. So that was my fault yes but I still felt a little salty cuz I stood there for so long. Second time I went I was deferred which that's fine I was okay with that, I was still in the place for about an hour before being deferred. So the third time I go and I
Grace is so personable and friendly. It is so nice watching her interact with clients. I'm sure if anyone is nervous, Grace's calm nature puts them at ease. Grace is fairly new and doing an amazing job.
Axel was my attendant today and turns out he's a great sticker for as new as he is. Hope I get him again. I do HATE the wait time, but go prepared for it. If all sections were open, wow.... 4-5 mostly.
Bio Life Onalaska is great! Staff treats me very well! One issue recently was an arm check took 20 minutes to see a nurse. I know from standing in line and talking to other donors same issue has happened to them too. Arm check taking 20 minutes to see nurse was a little bothersome when both lines were long. Staff is still great! Jess Autumn Reese Christina Kolby and yed there are others to mention but I dont recall all their names plus mgmt too!
Was denied services because they declared I had syphilis. The head nurse must be on drugs or drinking on the job. Am filing a lawsuit ASAP.
Christina G is awesome! Very attentive and acknowledged that I had been waiting for a bit longer than usual, which made my day. Very quick to get you hooked up and very polite to the clients!
Staff at the facility couldn't be nicer. They do a great job. HATE, HATE, HATE the new check in questions. Not sure what was wrong with the old ones. I am sure it is for someone at corporate to justify their high priced job. Not sure who the genius is at corporate that feels the need to send me an e-mail that they are going to pay me less. News flash that is not something to brag about. My 5 star rating is for the staff that make bearable to overlook all the other nonsense that is out of their control
I took a 2 year break after covid thinking that wait times would get better. WRONG! The scheduled time only really affects the donor. You could wait an hour to actually be seated and make your donation.
One person tells you what you need to bring in and you bring it in then get told something different by another person. When even tho you brought what you were told to after your first appointment you still can't donate. I was told I just needed proof of my SS# and address and that my school ID worked the first time. The second time I bring everything in that I was asked to and all of a sudden my school ID is not usable. Just want to help others but honestly just gonna say nvm at this point. I know if I bri
This was my 7th time donating and I still have never received rewards for my first 2 donations. On top of that they gave me a hematoma in one arm after I gave 100ml of plasma. They then said that either I could continue in my other arm or just not get paid for today. They they proceeded to almost give me a second hematoma in my second arm and had to stab me twice. After I was done one of the nurses called me and blamed me for not drinking enough water that day instead of taking responsibility and saying tha
I used to donate at a different center in the area with with not good results. About a year later decided to give it a go at Bio - and it has went better than I could have expected A couple quirks here and there but now it has been smooth sailing Everybody is just so nice and i never had a bad experience with the staff. They are all very professional Christina G is the BEST ! She gets me everytime - smooth and easy ! Oh and they got new machines - my last donation was done is 31 mins - less than 4
I don't understand why you need to make appointments, u end up standing in long lines .I understand there are new people learning, but then give more time between each appointment, the people there are trying, but if the needle is placed properly or the machine is not working it even takes longer.
It's always a positive interaction, just wish they were paying like they used to years ago. Just had machines malfunctioning last 2 times, now I'm deferred from donating for 8 weeks at no fault of my own. I've been donating for a long time & just don't understand how this is happening so much with machines. I've been reading quit a few reviews & I'm not the only person that has been deferred for faulty machines. If weren't for a lot of the staff I would?ve quit donating a while ago. Also wish they would do
My whole experience today was above my expectations. I was in and out with my whole process in 40 minutes. The professionalism at this place is top notch. Not a bad way to make money, while helping others.
I have nothing but good to say about the Onalaska WI Biolife Center. Great people, great service.....very well run!
Very nice atmosphere! The majority of the staff is friendly and are people oriented! There are a couple older ladies that are somewhat rude, especially when they greet people at the door, they should make people feel welcome!! I'm newer and many have informed me that's the overall feeling as well!
Everytime I have been to BioLife I have had excellent service. I do realize that sometimes the wait times are longer then others but everywhere is short-staffed and we as a society have to accept that. I have been greeted at the desk and when I need help logging in because my fingerprint doesn't work someone is always willing to help me right away or respond with I will help you in just a couple minutes. Once I am hooked up to the machines I get asked at least 5 times if I am doing okay by one of the techni
I have been there twice and everyone there has been so kind!
Although I did not know before arriving at Bio-Life that I would need to have another physical, the overall experience was good. The nurse that conducted my physical was very friendly and answered all my questions. I also had a great phlebotomist that was gracious when I explained I have had issues with hematomas in the past. She was careful in starting my line and explained to me why I have most likely had the hematomas recently.
I hope Christina G is the training manager or will be, very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone should have the type of training and experience that she does. 10/10 experience.
I went to have a physical and donation and had to wait in line over two hours from my original appointment to even see the nurse for the physical, and because I had to wait so long; it had been too long since I had eaten, so I was prevented from donating and told to come back again within a few days, so I came back again today and after having some technical errors like the system rejecting my current address and wanting me to have another physical, I was prevented from donating yet again, but now if I go b
It took me forever to be able to donate because of all the health rules. I understand taking precautions, but theirs are too much. I was making good money at first, but they conveniently didn't tell me that the money I was making the first month would drastically go down the next month. I donate blood for free because I like helping people, but I felt so deceived by biolife that I just stopped going. Either pay well and make that clear, or state what you will be giving your donors. They knew that if they to
It Was Not Good Christina, Older Lady Glasses Missed A Stick I Think The 8th Time. I try To Avoid Her, Ask For Different Sections Or Different Nurse But Seems She Can't Stay Away. I Have Been Donating For 20 years Never Had This Bad Of An Experience . I Would Come More But Think I Can't Get Away From Her. If There Was Away To Tell Her. I Have Said All This To Employees And Desk Personnel But No Help. She Has To Know She Is The Problem Not Me Or There Will Be No Change. Please Help.
I've been to several plasma donation centers and this is by far the most unorganized of them all. I believe it is a reflection on how it is managed, because most of the employees have been friendly. Making an appointment is meaningless. You'll wait at least an hour each time. Expect to spend 2.5 hrs+ for each donation. Plus after you are done receiving the new donation fees it is for $40 dollars only! There is a promotion for $120 for the week which I tried to take advantage of. I donated Friday and then m
Was greeted by Andrea with, " Lynn you have a physical today. " I told her that , No, I didn't schedule an appointment for the day, and she turned the computer screen and said yes you did. I again said that I had not schedule a physical. I didn't care what was on your screen. Not sure what's going on at the onalaska wi biolife, but the workers attitudes are changing drastically. I've been donating since 2006.
Christina G was the best phlebotomist I've had!
Expect 1hr wait times on top of however long it normally takes you to donate, which can be between 40mins to an hour plus. Biolife seems to refuse to hire more staff here, so the people who are here are burned out and stretched thin. The people who work here are wonderful, and are trying their best. Good place to make a little spending money on the side, but this company needs to treat its employees better and hire more staff. 1 hour wait times aren't acceptable for many people with schedules.
Always try and make my appt early mornings. Technicians are always friendly. And why not save a life and make money at the same time. That's just a bonus.
Very rudely treated by nurse staff after episode that happened two days prior where I got upset because I waited over an hour to even sit in a chair. I voiced I was upset because they poked someone who was behind me in line in the our section. Waited over 20 minutes after I was in a chair and no one noticed me. Then a new person poke and couldn't get in and another staff member poked my other arm. Was told I needed to settle the second night. Maybe you staff needs to respect people better. Been
I had my appointment set and ready to go today. I was also excited to help save lives. My husband also had an appointment which was a few hours before mine? I received a message from him that he could not donate due to having tattoos on his arms. Totally understandable. It is unfortunate, but we understand. What we do not understand is the rude, judgmental attitude from the two ladies assisting him. It does not go unnoticed and we do not tolerate such behavior. It is truly unfortunate. If you're having a ba
Christina G was super sweet and helpful glad she worked w me
When compared to the La Crosse plasma donation center, night and day difference. Here is what makes BioLife Plasma great. Pros -Spotless facility -Care and attention to detail for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time donors. -Knowledgeable employees providing information on plasma processing -Super professional atmosphere (you won't hear TikTok or social media chit-chat on the floor; nor will you see employees clustered on the floor for long periods) -Experienced and long term employees -Wi-Fi access -The check-in p
Over the past 15 years I've donated it five different centers in as many different states. Heck, I even worked for a time at one of them and considered it to be the best of them. Until donating here that is. I schedule my appointments for 7:30am and have never had to stand in line. Do this and you can expect to be in and out of there in 45 minutes.
First time appointment. Understood that it may be long. I was there 2 hrs. The only friendly staff person I encountered was Jean. I was finally at my almost there step. I was with a nurse for my "physical". 25 minutes with the nurse and he says: "Oh no. I just realized you are 67. We will have to get permission from your primary care provider and have you see our physician here". My point? SERIOUSLY? You just NOW realized that? I have shown my ID. I have been asked numerous times for my daye of birth but no
Had a 410pm appointment. Did not get to a bed until 500. Then I wasn't seen by the tech until 530. Why take more appointments than staff can process. Not good customer service.
I've been going to Biolife now for 7 plus years. The staff has always been pleasant, easy to work with and efficient. Especially Shelly who goes out of her way to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Most invasive questionnaire I've ever had, felt violated for sure. One staff was nice but the lady who did the questionnaire was not. Ridiculous waste of time.
Do not go here, unless you plan on waiting over 2 hours. My appointment was at 7:15, as of now it's 7:56 and I'm still waiting to be seen at the health/physical station. They cannot schedule properly and have absolutely NO consideration for anyones time. The staff is friendly, but over worked. The nurses are difficult at best to deal with, but all the techs are great.
Absolute garbage employees who refuse to answer a simple question over the phone. Unhelpful and completely disrespectful. Disregard everything you ask for the sake of policy. Unorganized bumbling bafoons pretending to know what they're doing. Don't come here. All they do is miss your vein and leave massive bruises on your arm due to their lack of intelligence and carelessness and blame you for it. I couldn't donate 2 weeks in a row because of this. Screw them.
Today I went through the physical and passed everything with flying colors. Then I got to the bed to lay down in for donation. I made a comment asking if they had a pillow or blanket so I could prop myself up in the bed because the neck rest was very uncomfortable. I had a shoulder injury recently and have chronic neck pain due to congenital scoliosis. I didn't want to be putting pressure on that area or be in an awkward position for my body if I didn't need to be. The technician immediately went to get th
Staff on the floor are great. Supervisors are always in a bad mood, and I frequently spend over an hour standing in line. Super disappointed.
While the compensation is good, don't rely getting in by the time your appointment is set. For people trying to get in before work, plan an extra 30 minutes to an hour to get through. I am usually waiting 25 to 35 minutes to either have the "vitals" done before getting to donate or waiting that long once I get a bed to get hooked up. Then it takes anywhere from 35 minutes to an hour to donate depending on how well you are hydrated. They need more staff.
I had a physical Scheduled at 12:30. At 12:45 I had to remind them I was sitting there. I did my physical and went to donation. Not one person sanitized their hands between patients. I also think that changing gloves should be mandatory at this time. I went again Saturday morning to donate. The tech that came to poke me did say hi or anything except what my full name and last four were. Again, she did not sanitize her hands one time. I watched and the only person who sanitized before they touched me
Everything was great but arrived at my scheduled time and had to wait in line for over one hour before being assigned a section. Why sign up for a time slot if there is a line of people when I arrive?
The staff are always polite with me and assisting me. They know what they are doing and I havent had any troubles with donating with them. Very friendly to the customers and you can see that they are all happy to be there at work which makes it better for me to know that i have someone who is in a good mood poking me with the needle.
Great customer service , employees beautiful people all around
Every employee has been great. Hit it at the right time and it's a breeze to get through. Sometimes they can get backed up, but that's why you plan ahead.
I've had a few good experiences, but overall there are many people who need far more training, empathy, and need to act more professional. I've had a couple ladies who didn't even know how to take my blood pressure correctly, even though they have a machine doing the work for them. I've overheard a couple arguments between staff yelling back and forth that is very unprofessional, and I've gotten deferred a couple times because of employee error (using wrong size cuff while taking BP is only 1 example). Once
I have been donating in this location at least 4to5 months a year, recently their service got super ugly and disturbing. When I got there this week staff were literally talking between each other ?ofc they'll come back we keep offering them money? and they were complaining how busy they are and asking each other; ?please don't send anyone else next hour or so?, first day they declined me because of my protein level right after this conversation. Second day Alyssa didn't even want to deal with me and she sai
I went to a bio life two times and my vein rolled the second time. The lady left the needle in my arm. Got mad and stormed out. Never came back and I had to ask over 3 nurses to take the needle out of my arm as there was a giant bubble starting to form under my skin and I was in pain. I was nice never yelled or anything and they rudely told me to leave. Been scared to go back ever since. Even tho I was really excited to start donating and earning some extra cash. Sad the first time I went they were all ver
The person in charge of scheduling appointments needs help!!!! The last 3 times I have been there it took 3 hours from start to finish. The last time I showed up at my designated time and there were 6 people standing out side ahead of me. There was 1 person waiting inside the doors and 8 more in line after doing their survey. If you go there don't make any plans for the rest of the evening. Also they are giving new donors $1000 but anyone who goes there 2 times a week after the initial promotion only gets
I appreciate the staffs efforts to keep up during this busy season with the college students back. So many great phlebotomist currently staffed.
Very good experience everytime I go with a very professional staff.
They're so understaffed and yet still schedule appointments as if there's no issue. Currently 40(ish) people waiting to either check vitals or get to a bed. There's one employee doing vitals, and everyone else is on the floor but still can't keep up with the number of donors. My appointment was for 850, it's now 932, and I have a dozen people in front of me. I estimate it will be after 10 before I see a bed. If you're on a time crunch, don't even bother
This place is usually pretty good. Ever since the $1,000 promotion they have gone down hill. Having an appointment time is a joke! I showed at my appointment time but had to wait 45 minutes before I could donate due to the line! With 15 people ahead of me and numerous donation stations open it took almost 2 hours to donate. Completely unacceptable.
I've had several awful experiences here. From ridiculous wait times to practically bleeding out on the bed because the techs can't seem to stick veins very well. Just yesterday I went. Back for the first time in a few months since I had a coupon to get $600 over the next few donations just for the tech to screw up and give me a hematoma and then go to my other arm and bruise that one just as bad. Because they screwed up and bruised me I won't be able to finish the coupon and won't be able to collect the ext
Some of the workers are great. Stephen especially he was always great. The managers that work in the office are great at what they do as well. Beware these people are not trained professionals! Meaning none of them are even RNs, the nurses run this place they're seen as mangers. One girl I had was 19 years old! I think they need to work on training people better here. I donated over 30 times and acquired about 5 bruises the size of a baseball on my arm. I recall one time an employee after sticking the needl
Not impressed by the professionalism or friendliness I encountered on my first time there. There were several older ladies at the front desk who don't seem to have kindness, patience, or customer service in their vocabulary. Reading the reviews on here it sounds like it's a big problem that's been going on for a long time.
H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E experience. I spent 40 minutes waiting in line to get rudely greeted by the person at the front desk. She rolled her eyes and huffed out loud when I stated it was my first visit. While the company does incentivize you monetarily for your donations, the money is NOT worth your wasted time and the disrespectful treatment of the staff. Unless you desperately need cash and don't mind spending hours getting pushed through lines like a herd of cattle in this severely understaffed facility - f
I always have a great experience here. The staff are very nice and things go smoothly for me every time. I enjoy it because I know I am helping people who need the plasma! If you want to help people and make some extra money in the process I highly recommend this center! ??
First time going. Had issues with one arm not pumping fast enough so Pengsue came over and adjusted my needle twice (felt nothing) amd then we had to switch arms. He was fast, precise, and made sure I was OK the whole time. Due to it being my initial appointment and having to switch arms, my visit was almost 2.5 hours. Had I not had to switch arms, my appointment probably would have been about 30-40 min shorter. If you are able, this is a great way to make some extra side $$$. Pengsue, you rock!
This was my second donation on the Aurora Xi. This time my donation took less than 30 minutes, so that is a plus. I did need a second stick as I did the time prior, but I have challenging veins. So my experience varies, depending on the success of the phleb to successfully stick me. I wish I would get the perfect stick every time, but that is probably impossible.
Somehow the management at this center cannot figure out to not schedule so many people for each time slot when they are severely understaffed. It takes anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour to get your temp taken and blood pressure. Then it takes another hour just to sit down and begin your donation process. So it takes about 2-3 just to get out the door. The manager of this center needs to think about other employment options if they are the one allowing this to happen. It's ridiculous.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
