Not enough employees and the ones they do have, move at a snails pace. As if the donors want to spend their entire shift with them?smh Don't try to donate 2-3 hours before you have to be anywhere unless you're okay with being late. The lines are only long because the workers have no sense of urgency at all. Just a bunch of sloths?.except for Ms. Tori. She's so smooth & quick with the needle????

I had one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences at BioLife. From the moment I walked in, it was complete chaos. The line of people waiting was literally out the door, and there were only a few employees working. Those who were there were each doing the job of three people, and as a result, they were overwhelmed, stressed, and incredibly rude. I'm a new patient, and even though they pushed me to the front of the line because of that, I still ended up waiting over an hour just to get my vital

Mrs. Janet was super friendly and made the experience pleasurable. Mr. Jenique and Miss Brianna were excellent when using the needles into my arm. I barely felt anything. Customer service here is great and such friendly environment. I will definitely refer my friends and family to come here

The service was great! Jerique explained the procedure thoroughly before inserting the needle. The entire staff was friendly and professional. I was given crackers before donating. I would recommend your facility to anyone. I will be back.

My sister had a horrible customer service experience today at this location (and this wasn't the first time as she has had multiple mixed experiences donating here). After patiently waiting for three hours the phlebotomist gave her so much attitude and completely refused to try to draw blood claiming her veins were too small even though she did not even make an attempt and she was properly hydrated. Wasted her time, energy, and was completely unprofessional. I understand that things happen and allow people

Was skeptical going in, but was so impressed leaving! Everyone was excellent. Staff was friendly thru entire process and helped make me comfortable. Shachia is great at welcoming donors. They were the all very obviously well trained. Their tasks all seemed to them like second nature. I bruise easily, but Brittney was gentle and did great. I watched the staff while I was donating and they are so alert. They communicate and work well together. I even started to not feel well but they Almost knew before I did.

Only thing is they are extremely slow I scheduled two hours early so I have enough time to donate and make it to work. But instead now I'm almost two hours late. Had open seats an prior to me seating. Everything else great just time extremely off!!

Slow is an understatement. No urgency either. Appointment means nothing youll be waiting regardless. Deny you but make you wait the entire wait period and more just to deny you. Bruises from incisions. Plenty empty seats but some sections never open. Trash. Theres a way better center less than 10 mins away on lakeside.

Terrible management! Absolutely ridiculous there were about 25 people in line to get vitals checked and only one person checking people in! I enjoy donating and making extra cash but my time is more valuable than that small payment. Either hire more people or make less appointments available. I would say my experience with the staff has always been positive, that's my only reason for two stars and not one.

Multiple times I have been done donating and instead of patching me up and sending me on my way, I have to sit for an additional 20 minutes while they hook up new people. I don't get why you would make the person with the needle in their arm wait instead of the person just sitting there. Especially when I'm done and I saw you patch someone else up and then set up someone else.

This place is a mess. They overbook appointments and have at minimum 20 people waiting for a spot at their appointment time. What should be an hour appt can take 3 hours of time- or more Most ( 99%) of employees are rude and disrespectful. I am not sure why they think they can treat people that way , they are not doctors performing life saving surgery. They take appointments until closing time and then after waiting turn people away for various reasons aka they want to go home. In addition if you are a

Wait time was longer than expected for first appt (3.5 hours when only expected 2 hours) but overall staff was very polite and friendly and explained every process to me so that i could understand and made sure to keep asking if i had anymore questions.

Very pleasant experience. The first time donating took a little longer than expected but overall I would give an A+ rating from every aspect. The professionalism, the level of attention to each individual, the cleanliness, and the process was not painful or uncomfortable by any means. I also recommend checking out the promotions they offer as well. Very satisfied and will surely be returning to donate again very soon. ????

Very friendly and professional people. I've donated at a few places. And I have no complaints here.

They wouldn't allow me to donate because of skin ?sensitivity? I have to tape and bandages when they don't even use those for the arms. I felt like the nurse was just really rude not really giving me a reason why I can't just oh u have a sensitivity to bandage and tape you can't donate we won't risk it but proceeded to tell me they don't even use this products sooo ? Make it make sense please. I've donated multiple times at an American Red Cross and never had an issue because of my skin sensitivity. Again S

They lied for promotion, was supposed to recieve $125 for my tenth donation and only recieved $50 now let somebody do any lying in their physical they be strict to crack down on you for lying but its okay for them! I dont recommend going here go to CSL! Dont go to biomat either ????

Donated at this BioLife recently. I haven't donated plasma for about 8 years. It was essentially my first time donating plasma again. Every staff member treated me with kindness and patience. They made sure I was comfortable and informed about the process. And they did all this while it was a noticeably busy day for them. Great Customer/Client Care!

Exceptional team of professionals. I was a bit nervous for my first time but the entire staff that I came in contact with made sure I was comfortable from beginning to end.

Staff are incredible. Wait times are horrendous. They knowingly overbook appointments even though they are aware they are short staffed (and have been for months). So your appointment could be at 1:30pm, but it could 3pm before you are even actually donating plasma (THERE COULD BE 5 PEOPLE IN FRONT OF YOU JUST TO HAVE VITALS CHECKED AND AT THE SAME TIME, 8 PEOPLE IN LINE WAITING FOR A BED TO OPEN UP) It's really gotten worse in the past month, but the staff are so nice and are doing the best they can given

Awesome team well trained in their field team leaders on floor to meet any experience that should arise simple sign up procedures id an secondary id forms required First phase will be tested for compliance you are compensated every time you donate so day before drink plenty fluids rest well prior to donation follow their rules and regulations properly an help someone who has medical conditions requiring plasma for a surgery emergencies burn victims auto immune system deficiencies talk to agents at place

These dedicated and highly skilled professionals deliver an elevated donation experience with caring and thoughtful hands. Plasma is a much needed and generous contribution to essential treatments that save lives everyday. You will be treated with care and respect for your choice to donate here.

Don't disclose any mental health issues if you want to be able to donate. Apparently having any sort of anxiety, depression, etc. means you are unable to make informed rational decisions, and you need a doctor's "permission" to donate. How this isn't considered discriminatory is beyond me.

The location is always clean and organized. The staff has been great. Very professional and attentive. If I have to be stuck with a needle, I will go here. Thank you for what you all are doing.

2 stars because the overall friendliness was nice HOWEVER I had a 10am appointment, I was there at 9:45 and they get me checked in early, fill out paperwork, do vitals, full physical, map and document every single tattoo (important!) I have, and at 11:40 I am taken back and immediately refused by the tech. Because I have a tattoo on one arm that has a gradient that goes over my elbow ditch. They require both arms to have no ink over the ditch. Which is fine! (I figured since my dominate arm has the way bett

Not to disparage the bad experiences of others, but that's all they are, specific one off issues. This is the best, cleanest, nicest donation center in Richmond.

I have been donating to BioLife for two years now and have always had a great experience. I highly recommend their services and support.

The company is very professional for the most part some of the workers are rude the young white girl in the front that checks people in she is rude the older black lady that walk with a limp she rude but the other staff are amazing

From my experience, I know this center deals with staffing shortages and i can understand the hours the staff work through are demanding. With this said, I am treated with respect and the staff checks to see how I'm feeling and communicates to me that I should let them know of any pain or discomfort and not to tough it out. Their attention and care throughout the donation process is what makes my experience the most positive!

Donated on 12/26 and 12/28. Both times there was no line waiting to get vitals taken or for a cot. Was in and out of the center in less than an hour and a half. Staff was very friendly and proficient.

I have to say that the visit times are quite long, anywhere between 2-3 hours on average. And, there doesn't seem to be enough staff or beds to take care of all the in-flow.

This center is very unprofessional, very understaffed, wait times are really long even though you make an appointment, and new donor promotion is less than regular promotion. Don't waste your time coming here.

Was quickly reminded why I stopped coming to this place over a year ago. Staff was not friendly, appointment was at 6, which I was on time for. Was told at 6:30 I needed to speak with the nurse before donating, who told me through her ?I really hate my job? face that I needed to have paperwork filled out by my doctor first. NOPE, NOT TODAY OR EVER AGAIN! I said I was done with them over a year ago because I had to get this paperwork filled out twice after it was lost and it took very a month of me calling f

I've been donating here twice a year for a couple years. This year I had to wait over a hour for my scheduled physical. The next time I showed up for my appointment I was 13 minutes late. I travel from Sandston Virginia to get here. Because I was 3 minutes past the 10 minute mark they wouldn't let me donate. Yes they were busy but it's still the same amount of people in the building if I had showed up on time. They are over booking that's not my fault. So ok for me to wait 1 hour for them with a scheduled a

The staff messed up and I got a huge bruise on my arm. Next time I came in, had to wait for over 30 minutes just to be checked before I could try again. Absolutely ridiculous wait time, especially considering it was THEIR staff that gave me said bruise. This place used to be really good, but has fallen off VERY hard. They prioritize new donors over people who?ve been here often. Last time for this, never gonna donate plasma again. Whole experience ruined it for me. Basically was told ?because of the bruise

First time donating and boy was this a great first impression! From the very beginning, everyone was super informative and walked me through EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. I felt so comfortable and confident in my safety, privacy, and DONATING! Definitely coming back!

Better options for plasma donation nearby. Gave me the impression they didn't want me to donate. If there's a strict 10 min window, there should be someone at the desk waiting for you to make sure you don't run over your time waiting for them.

Appt was 9:30 on a Saturday morning. Arrived on time, quick check in, 9th in line and stood for over one hour, finally invited to donation table, sat there for over 20 minutes, walked out at 11 am without being attended to as I had another appointment to go to. A waste of my Saturday morning and loss of $$. I will try another plasma center next time

Each and every time I come in to donate, I am treated extremely pleasant and kindness. Each staff member is always happy to ensure that everything is comfortable and that I don't have any issues. The donation itself is pretty fast and painless

Everyone was pleasant and professional. I was a first-time donor, and I didn't feel nervous; everyone was very patient with me, and when I didn't understand something, the staff had no problems explaining it to me. I had an outstanding experience

The staff are extremely kind and very warm. The first appointment was 3.5 hours long but everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The second appointment was much shorter but my technician had difficulty inserting the needle and ended up damaging my vein, which took two weeks to fully heal. I would have loved to continue donating but don't think the $70 compensation is worth the risk of another bad stick.

Every time I go to BioLife, its wonderful. People are kind. Service is slow, but they are friendly. However, this past time I got a new girl. She didn't put the blood pressure cuff on correctly, it was loose. So she said I had low bp. Told me to go walk around in that side room for 5 min and she'd come and get me. She didn't. After 10 min I walked out to here where she laughed and said she's forgotten. Then takes my BP again and now it's too high. I asked her well can I just wait another minute? Nope. ?You

I really appreciate the staff at BioLife. They are always very helpful, polite, and professional, even when I am difficult - yes- I can be demanding. But they are always fabulous. The clinic is forever busy, but they still remain composed and professional. I am going to visit a different donation center today only for the increased incentives. I hope that I do not regret my decision.

Please take note that this review does not fit every employee there they do have some wonderful people working there. However I have had a multitude of problems visiting this center. The longest and most affecting trouble that I've had with this center is that I was assured repeatedly that I was not being deferred and that I was not going to be deferred, and yet I have been. I went in for a donation that I was assured repeatedly that I was okay to make, just to be told I couldn't donate until they speak to

The people at this place are great. Nicole is always very professional and friendly, training and questioning the newer employees to make sure they are performing. Nomi in the front is always smiling and takes care of me efficiently. Jaquan always maintains professionalism and is effectively efficient. And Lauren engages in conversation, while maintaining professionalism. This place is the only place I'll sell my body ??

Staff members play around with your money. Watch what you say to them... They take stuff out of context. You got one job ..just do it

Great place and super friendly staff. I had never donated plasma before. They helped explain each step very well and took the time to make sure I was comfortable during the whole process. 10 out 10 in my book for friendly staff and its cleanliness as a facility. I couldn't have asked for a better place to go to donate. I wish there was a 6th star i could put here for a rating. Lol.

Perfect appointment today. Was in and out in a timely manner.

I appreciate that I can get in and out in about 1.5 hours total, and get some work done while I'm at it. I have found the staff at my plasma donation center to be consistently polite, helpful, and professional. Great experience!

They are so freaking slow, it seems like since they change staff star being like this, I use to donate in about 1 hour or so but now I spend about 4 hours now? manager should do something with the staff, also appointing are every 5 min what it doesn't make sense, because if my appointment is at 4 I start donating at 5 or so, if they don't have good staff or enough they should do appointments at list every 20 min

I'm only giving this place a two star because the front desk ladies were nice, but I was turned away from giving plasma because they can't draw blood through tattoo ink. It would have been nice if I could have been made aware of this before wasting my time and gas to get there. Nothing on their site says anything about this except no new piercings or tattoos in the last four months. SO if you have a full sleeve don't try to donate and it does not matter if your other arm does not have tattoos they still

Wait times are getting to be terrible. Staffing issues in front and back. Takes almost an hour before they even get your vitals. The list goes on.

Amazing, professional program!!! I absolutely love the staff!! Nurse Jennifer is very through!! She's the backbone and that's easy to see!!!

Great staff - like many other commenters have said, Dharma is incredible. It always makes my day to see her and she's amazing at what she does. She'd be an incredible manager/administrator the way she leads others and builds genuine patient relationships. Facility is always clean. There are times where the wait is longer than ideal, but plan accordingly and if you have a wait, give the staff some grace - they all work hard and get people cared for as quick as they safely can.

A welcoming and friendly environment. The the employees and staff does more than their best to make sure you are satisfied and comfortable with your donation. Really big thanks to Nate and also Dhamar (hope I spelled your name right ). Two of the best phlebotomist I ever came in contact with. They are always on point with everything and truly a hard workers !

Garbage! I have no other words and if I keep having words with this same dark haired female supervisor with glasses, I am going to have a meltdown. My physical with donation has been scheduled for 2 weeks! Upon my arrival today, all of a sudden there is zero record. ?My apologies we are currently filled and we cannot overbook.? How can one overbook when my appointment was scheduled for Friday, Feb 2nd at 2:15pm. Irate.

My main complaint or concern involves the lack of communication and or education provided at the new donor appointment. After 3 donations completed, I arrived for the scheduled 4th, I was then told my lab work was not back within the allotted 14 days and I would be called when the labs were back to continue further donations. My complaint is,,, I should not been allowed to online schedule appointments past the 14 day mark, it was a disregard of my time and 100% could be avoided. They make donating harder th

Hello today was my first visit. I feel like I waisted my time. The young lady who helped me named Dharma seemed nice. She went to find veins on both arms and said she could only find a good vein on my right arm. I was a little taken back because I have never had any issues with being able to find my veins. I did drink tons and tons of water...I ate lots of protein and stopped drinking caffeinated drinks and stopped eating sugary fatty foods several days prior to my appointment as I was instructed to do.

Unprofessional staff not sure there lens are even certified to even handle sharp objects I would go anywhere but here. The staff will lie . Just not worth it there are literally 10 other places with a good staff to go to

Staff is always incredibly polite and willing to assist. As a legally blind man, it is comforting and reassuring knowing someone is always ready to assist me with my questionaire and anything else that may be needed.

The absolutely most professional and friendly staff I have ever experienced. Very clean and rarely will have wait in line. Due appointment only donations makes way to prevent crowds and noise . I refuse to go any where else to donate.

This center needs more staff, I've gone 4 times and each time you are guaranteed to wait at least 30 for them to check you in and put you in the line to get a chair. Most times it takes an hour from when you get there to when you will be donating. The biggest aspect they need to change is their staffing shortage. P.S. kodey was very nice the couple times he has checked me in (he's the reason it's not a one star).

Everyone does their job well. They are All very caring people. They are so friendly too. They have become my second family. The facility is like home away from home.

Its been my experience a few times where the phlebotomist stuck my arm incorrectly and I got deferred for something that wasn't my fault. When they stick your arm wrong the donation doesn't work

This location has recently expanded its hours of operation, which has gone a long way to alleviate congestion in the sign in and waiting areas. Total visit times have decreased, in regards to how long it takes to get through the questionairre, vitals, getting to a bed, and being connected. This has made fitting a dotation into my schedule far more convenient than it has been, because before it was always a roll of the dice as to how long I would be at the clinic.

Very friendly and informative staff. I was nervous my first time going in, but I had a very good first experience here. Can't wait to come back. Shoutout to Brittany for not hurting me when she stuck the needle in! Lol

I was a few minutes late because of traffic and they still allowed me to keep my appointment. Staffing levels were good so things moved quickly. Staff was very friendly.

Wasted 3 hours of my time to find out since I had a heart attack, but am completely healthy I didn't qualify. Could have said that upfront without wasting all my time. Very rude! List that on the disqualifying factors upfront. Don't buy in!

So I had an appointment at 530 and go to the table at 6 then say here for 1hr before they hooked me up and I literally saw like 10 ppl who came in after me who got hooked up before me as the little girl Courtney skipped over me the whole time and didn't even say a word

Very poorly run. The phlebotomist are always talking about how the manager is lazy. He never comes on the floor unlike other centers where you frequently see the managers. Lines are very often 8+ deep with only 2 people checking people in. New donors come in and don't even get recognized. So many people want to donate and yet they can't do better. On top of that they continue to reduce the donation pay. I don't recommend this plasma center!

I'll give it 2 stars because the money is helpful. My intake this morning was horrible and completely unprofessional. The woman Mina was so disrespectful and rude. I feel like the people who do the intake are all horrible. They are supposed to be there to help but they treat everyone like such an inconvenience. The black people are so racist. They let the black customers get in but are quick to refuse any other race. If you do get in you're going to be waiting for hours as you see what I'm talking about. Fi

Honestly if I could give more than 5 stars I would. As a person that, historically, has had major anxiety issues regarding needles and blood draws I can say my experience here has been nothing short of amazing. I have been consistently donating 2 times a week since 3/2022. Mina is an absolute life saver. My anxiety gets triggered waiting for intake, but she takes the time to talk to me and makes me feel like there's no rush. Something so simple makes such a huge difference. I went from being differed for a

Like many other reviewers, I'd give 0 stars if I could. My appointment was for 9:25am, my vitals were taken at 10:05am. Severely understaffed, seems like they just wing it everyday. Makes me a wonder how safe they are.

I firmly believe that your experience with anything is largely based upon your mindset and mood. I have never donated anything but decided to capitalize on the money as well as the opportunity to help out someone. (And let's be honest. I have 3 kids. Getting ?non mom time? is a huge plus. Even if it does involve a needle) my first day there (and every day since) I was met by Kodey and Nae that always seem to be at the front. Which, is always nice to see one or both of them. They both are incredibly friendly

First time visit today. From start to finish as first timer and with them being short staffed was just over 3 hours. Everyone I dealt with was great though. Really helped me understand and was super helpful.

Staff makes sure I am educated in the donation process. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of appointment times are available, and the payouts/rewards are excellent, too! Thanks guys!

Every experience that I've had there has been great. All of the techs are kind and very helpful with any questions I've asked out of curiosity. The only downfall is this office is not open on Mondays, but I still make it work to come donate!

I had a wonderful experience here. It was my first time to the center but I have donated plasma many times years ago. It was quite busy when I arrived for my 1230 appt and I was there for about 3 hours, but I expected it to be a long process since I was a new donor and had to go through the physical and everything. The girl who did my vein check was awesome and really took her time to make sure I had good veins and what arm they should and shouldn't use. When it came time to draw my blood I was nervous and

I can't say enough good things about dharma! She is so amazing and makes EVERYTHING painless every single time. All I can say is give that woman a raise and treat her well, while she's there I'll keep coming!!

Don't mention any mental conditions you may have, they will make you get your doctor to sign off on papers, be very careful what you say, no other centers have treated me this way. Also nearly impossible to schedule an appointment for your first time. Very busy center, highly recommend avoiding

October 11th 2024 went to donate plasma, but was not physically prepared as I needed to be, not enough protein, dehydrated, the staff had to help me recover ( loss some plasma for nothing); they did an excellent job, for me just a wasted day

I have been donating for several years off and on at my home location in PA. I moved here and was thrilled when I saw a location opening up in Richmond. The staff is so incredibly friendly, and yes there can be long wait times but all in all they do a great job. They have always been very attentive with me and make sure you are well taken care of.

Staff is very informative, thorough, and respectful. Very fast process & environment is not overwhelming.

I sniffled. And mentioned the word allergies. I was not sick at all. My health record is probably better than both of the nurses that were checking me out . They were disrespectful and failed to understand what I was saying. It's like they were mocking me . I went into the office for something completely different. They told me come back tomorrow but there is no available appointments. I feel like that's unjust. I'm just a young man trying to make a honest hustle. The women turned me down off my appearance

The more you give the less you make. They'll pay $200 a week to new people, but if you go 2 times a week everyweek you'll get around $100. They do it backwards, reward those that give more, you have no business without the people that come back everyweek not those that get $700 in the 1st month and never come back

Unorganized. You can have an appointment scheduled and not know until you get there that you are not eligible to donate because they are waiting on test results. It's a ?system issue? as they put it. So unless you call to confirm every single appointment (good luck getting someone to answer the phone, and if they do hopefully the person on the phone knows what they are talking about) you will waste your time and money driving there.

Love it here, everyone working here is professional and kind, people complain in these comments about little things...think of the workers here sheesh they need a break too, its only a rotation of employees, we know it gets busy, especially when people are quitting their own jobs. I like the app, it's fast and easy, schedule in advance to get the best times ??. 5??'s from me, I'm satisfied every visit and from what I've seen they pay the best anyway. Every employee there deserves a medal for their services

I have a perfectly fine arm to use with good veins, however after waiting two hours they tell me because I have tattoos on one arm they can't do the process. I've NEVER had this problem at other plasma places. What a JOKE!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Worst experience ever at ANY blood donation center! Avoid this location at all costs and go somewhere else. Let me explain: I Just relocated to the Richmond area and formally gave blood at the Harrisonburg Bioplasma location. I arrived at this location this morning 9 o'clock am and waited 15 minutes before getting any assistance, even though the assistant manager was walking around do a lot of nothing and not dresses appropriately for the setting. When she finally d
