I actually look forward to my appointment because the staff is so friendly. I particularly really like Avery. She is really great at her job. She is fast and efficient, yet friendly and caring. Alex is also very good at his job. They make the whole experience pleasant and I really appreciate that
First time I ever donated plasma before.. Not going to lie I was a little skeptical and nervous about doing it. After my experience here, I am glad I did it because you never know who you could be saving and I love to give back.. On top of that reward you too! The facilities extremely clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, they speak Spanish and English. It was my first time donating, and the entire process took about two hours and a half. They even offer you Goldfish! I've been told by many people
I had to wait 35 min after laying on the bed to someone come and hook me up it is long long long time. Ppl are great but this place need to be more organized. They can't handle ppl they have but accepting more new doners not smart. Update : 2/5/2025 appointment at 10:10 now time is 10:50 still waiting in line for screening, ppl working for screening EXTREMELY SLOWWWWW except mrs. Courtny, She is handling min 3 person while others working with one doner.. not only that after screening there is an other line
Avery is always very friendly and personable! She is excellent at putting the needle in my arm I can't even feel it!! Thank you Avery for your expertise and kindness!
More staff needed! The staff that are currently there are great. Biolife just need additional staff to accommodate everyone who donates. The screening line was at a slow crawl (i waited 30 minutes), with only two staff working the line. Most of the time, it was only one staff member in the screening line because of walk-ins. I ended up leaving before I got screened, because I saw only one donating section open (out of the three they have), and the line to wait to donate was 15 people deep. It would have li
I had an uncommon reaction where my blood pressure dropped sharply during donation and I was seeing stars, the staff was quick to recognize my condition and stabilized me quickly. I appreciate how professional and kind the staff are, and everything is clean and organized. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be donating anymore haha, but if I ever wanted to donate again, this place is the best to do it.
I saw the promotion to earn $750 in a month by donating plasma. Figured i was doing a good deed and needed the money so I tried it. Spent 3 weeks scheduling and wasted over 6 hours just to end up with a bad hematoma due to their incompetence. This is what my arm looks like a week later. Overall, almost a month later, I was able to donate once. Not worth the damage to my body, $100, and time spent.
I've known Stephen since I moved back to Tampa, first meeting him at the Largo location. From the start, he's always had such a good vibe ? professional, friendly, and genuinely caring. Today was just another reminder of how much he goes above and beyond. After my appointment, the center had already closed, and I noticed my bandage was leaking. Stephen came out, took care of it quickly and kindly, and made sure I was all good before sending me on my way. It's rare to find people like him who truly care abou
I went in for my first visit today and they advised it may take 2-3 hours but they were not taking patients in order at all. I saw many taken before me and I was told to sit in a waiting area and wait on a physical. The physician on staff was just taking any and everyone out of order and not once acknowledged me so I walked out. As a medical professional myself, I know there's no excuse for running a disorganized ship and ignoring patients just because you are ?behind?. I drove an HOUR to this location to t
Great experience thanks to Avery. I've donated plasma in the past, different company, and their IV placement was always mildly uncomfortable. Avery literally NAILED it... would make Dr. Kevorkian proud to see such fine needle work.
I saw another post of someone else being punctured, too. While we sign a waiver that it's our responsibility to seek further care, the facility needs more training in recognizing signs. I don't think a majority of whom I interacted with (it was my first time) knew what was happening and figured that I was lightheaded because I didn't eat "enough." My arm hurt, and they continued the process briefly. The blood was still pumping back into the same arm, as well as the iv solution. Needless to say, my arm swel
I don't feel safe donating here. -soon as you walk in, it reeks of the bums this place attracts hoping to make a quick dollar -you are not asked to check in for your appointment, there is no kiosk or person at front desk -the floor is dirty and you are asked to remove your shoes and step on a dirty piece of paper so that you catch a fungal infection -hand sanitizer is a scarce commodity and the nurses keep it to themselves, it should be on the walls and counters at like every 5-10ft -the nurses never repla
One of the best workers here is Avery, I am listed as a hard stick but she is able to stick me with no problems and help my process run smoothly! I am appreciative!
My experience started off great, front staff friendly and welcoming. Changed as soon as I got into the chair. The male technician was unpleasant and made a snide comment that was uncalled for. This left a extremely negative impact on me about the system and I really would appreciate a representative to call me.
This place is terrible. From the minute we walked in, the woman who greeted us was rude and condescending. When my friend was confused on the type of appointment she had, the woman said "oh you're new?" in an extremely condescending way and a smirk on her face. Fast forward to getting the vitals done. The woman who I was working with had a very thick accent (no problem) but she talked very, very low and was getting frustrated that I kept needing her to repeat herself. The center was very loud and busy and I
So I went to donate yesterday (I have been consistently donating for a few weeks now) and had a small bruise on my arm from work and was interrogated about it, all went well and I donated. Well during donation my needle popped out of place some how so someone came over and attempted to adjust by putting the needle super deep, when that did not work they went to the other arm. Well this morning when I woke up my arms look like this all from this place! I tried calling to let them know the situation so when I
Whatever time you schedule, you're not going to actually be donating until at least 2 hours from then. They are extremely short staffed, and it takes 3 to 4 hours of your day. Definitely do not plan anything else on the day you decide to donate.
First time donor. My overall experience was great. The environment was clean, the staff was friendly from the front to the back. First time took approximately 3.5 hours from start to finish, but that was what I was mentally prepared for. The tech explained the procedure and the staff monitored me for 15 afterwards. I plan to become a regular donor at this location and would recommend it to everyone
Now I've been coming to BioLife plasma services for some months now giving back to the community, me and my family. I have never been treated so poorly nor did I ever experience such an unpleasant visit here until meeting Richard Estrada who is an ?assistant manager? for BioLife plasma, I would describe him as a highly rude person as I and others over heard him speak with another employee about their tolerance for patients with ?body oder? that they have to endor while working and how we all ?stank? infr
THE WORST PLASMA CENTER!!!! I ABSOLUTELY THIS HATE THIS PLACE!!!!!! THE STAFF ARE RACIST!!!! THE MANAGER UTTERED UNDER HIS BREATH I DON'T WANT YOU DONATING HERE! THEY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME! EVERY TIME I WENT THERE THEY GAVE ME A PROBLEM! THEY TOOK AWAY MY (NEW DONOR PROMOTION FEES) BEFORE I COULD EVEN FINISH AND DID NOT REINBURSE OR COMPENSATE ME!
I just won't be going here anymore. People are decent BUT . . . they have no sense of time or order. It should not take 3 + hrs for PEOPLE TO JUST DO THERE JOB SO I CAN GO ON WITH MINE. CSL and OctaPharma have 3-6 people on the floor while there anre 15+ KIDS IN COATS walking around BSing with themselves and im usually done in just over and hour and definitely less than 2 even on a busy day at any other center. There is no sense of urgency or order what so ever. Zhuheiley is about the only one besides the
??DO NOT COME HERE?? I waited at the reception desk as a new donor for 20 mins before anyone acknowledged my presence or even greeted me. Once a phlebotomist came over and offered assistance I was met with attitude. Don't waste your time here please look into other centers like CSL Plasma and OCTAPHARMA. They treat their donors better and offer more.
I'm so grateful to be able to give Plasma. The team at Biolife are great. Special shout out to Fernanda, Angel and Vanessa. Fernanda is a great Phlebotomist she placed a needle in my left arm when no one else could and it didn't hurt at all! The reward for giving Plasma is priceless and although I receive some financial assistance, the person (s) this could help is why I'm doing it going forward. Angel is also a great phlebotomist is also draws the Plasma seemingly and Vanessa is kind and patient during the
Everything went smooth, clean facility very organized & well structured. What led me to write a review, however, was the amazing stick done by Zuaheily. This is my 3rd visit here and though I genuinely had no issues with the other phlebotomists- in all the donations I've done over the last 3-4 years, she beat anyone else out by far with the most painless, well-placed (and quickest, which only highlights her expertise) stick I've ever had, even by phlebotomists with 2-3x the experience. I was genuinely blown
Absolutely terrible I went to this place several months back had this place has changed drastically. The workers are lazy rude. Im a return donor with an appointment should not take 4 1/2 hours. I had an email I had my name on. It was told by four different staff members that they would honor it to do it at the end and at the end they did not honor. Lines were ridiculous. They can't handle the workload with these incompetent work Who are more concerned with their fake eyelashes and chit chatting. Only compl
I don't understand the point of an appointment, I scheduled my appointment for 2:00pm and there's maybe 20 donors here, I've now been in line for an hour and a half and I see at least 10 open beds that they can put donors in but instead I see a lot of staff talking and laughing amongst each other not doing anything. Some of us have places to go.
Update: Six months later and they're still in the same shape. Nothing has changed. Listen BioLife your people are great and you WILL NOT keep them if you continue this ridiculous business model. They will leave if your greedy practices persists. Stop over booking and maybe you'll have enough employees to open 6 days a week like you said you would. Until they hire enough people (that show up everyday, it's only 5 days a week, come on) and stop over scheduling. I'd stay away unless you want to spend 4 hours
Went as a first time donor today. Spent over an hour going through paperwork and preliminary testing. The staff are all nice and polite but After all that was finally told by a doctor I could never donate with BioLife because of a cervical fusion in 2016. No explanation given. It was just on a list of recommendations the doctor looked up on her screen. Would be nice if you were made aware of stuff like this before you waste an hour and a half of your life. Donors lives are important too
Amazing, patient, caring staff. By the third session I was no longer nervous and am in and out in no time. I wish I'd started donating sooner!
I just wish when you go through the screening of checking blood pressure, temperature, and finger prick for blood that the wait time to see personal wasn't so long. Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes. Sometimes from the moment I walk in the facility to the time the plasma withdrawal starts it takes 30 to 45 minutes. I feel this whole process should easily be under a hour as long as there is no issues.
It seems that every visit they are getting worse & worse. When I first started they were clean, professional & efficient. I was in & out within an hour & a half. This last time I went I stood in the line for a bed for over an hour in itself. While I watched staff wonder around aimlessly, have trivial conversations & even juggling with supplies while we all stood there waiting. I do not have time to waste if this is how they are going to be. Vikki, Miguel & Angel are great. Fernanda & Angeliz seemed to go ou
So I signed up to donate Plasma on BIOLIFE'S website. There is nothing on the site that says you can't donate if you are a Type 1 diabetic which I am. So, I go for my appointment today. I am there for 1 1/2 hrs doing all the 1st time stuff and getting in their system. Eventually, I go for a screening with a nurse, and I answer a few questions and am told I can't donate because my sugar levels might drop. I obviously appreciate they are concerned for my safety but I could have been told that on their website
Im usaly respectful towards others but absaloutley not. I came in with my partner and they not only disrespected her but me and other donators and the doctor for exams was extremely judgmental towards my partner and 5+ others They don't know how there own system works BUSY AND TAKING WALK INS WHILE THERE WAS A GENTLEMAN WAITING SINCE 9:30 AND WAS STILL WAITING BY TIME I LEFT AT 2:18! And I usaly don't call out workers but BIG AFRICAN AMERICAN LADY WITH A EAR PROCEDURE YOU WERE THE WORST! I understand we h
The staff is super nice. The process went smoothly and the facility is very clean.
Very clean nice people. The phlebotomist are pretty good stickers.Overall the whole experience went well
It's cool could be a lil faster depending on the amount of people but all the ladies are cool and I have no complaints
Do yourself a favor and go the the competitor, at the Waters Ave office, Sub-dura hematomas, long lines, inexperienced personnel, saw a screening tech flip out on another tech in front of a line of customers, who was only trying to help her out, techs not only locking themselves out of their stations, but also not watching what they were doing, resulting in deferring customers after they waited all that time to donate. Do yourself a big favor and don't.
It was my first time donating, and every staff member made it a very easy, smooth, and enjoyable experience. Everyone was very friendly, which made a great lasting impression on me. Especially, Demi and Alyssa - they made me feel very welcome and comfortable. It was slightly long, but I was prepared for that. Especially if you are a first time donor, expect to be there slightly longer due to them checking your account information and doing a physical exam. Bring a book! Or a laptop - it surprised me how man
Sushmita was so polite. Carlos was very good I never feel his needle sticks. Thank you BioLife
Avery, Fernanda, Amanda and all the staff are so friendly and always do their job so well this establishment deserves more than 5 stars
I understand it's new but the stafing needs to be better. New but never can answer the phone. Unreliable managers and awful communication. I came a hour early and they told me I missed my appointment. that's the total opposite. Front desk should also know English. And should be able to properly understand what people are saying. Equipment and cleanliness only thing good.
Staff is great. The service is slow - that's why I put 3 stars.
Too many different issues that need correcting. Setting appointments is useless, poor communication, employees seemed impatient and overworked. There was no real direction from anyone.
I came to your Tampa facility as a first donor and interacted with Vonnesha. She was rude, unprofessional and very disrespectful. She had a huge attitude towards me from the second she called my name. She didn't even say hello and immediately started making discriminatory comments about whether I speak english or not and used a very demeaning voice, then when she was taking my vitals, she was extremely offensive and she didn't even want to put a bandaid on my finger after she aggressively poked me, then she
I had an appointment here today 9/26. I called 3 times to see if they were open. I even left Messages. Google said they were. So i drove 50 minutes for my appointment to give blood. Only to see that they were shut down and you could barely tell because they had a small sign on the inside door with small lettering. They never called me to cancel my appointment and reschedule it. How rude and inconsiderate when I'm coming from a different city and during a storm. I honestly don't know if I'll be back. What po
The wait times are ridiculous. My appointment was for 1:20 and 22 mins later I'm still waiting in line to be screened. This happens no matter how busy they are (or aren't). Even though the staff are friendly and nice, you will always be wasting time waiting around.
The facility is clean, well organized... the needle sticks are quick and, simple, virtually pain free ... in, out, done
My first visit was a breeze! I did everything through the app, and check-in at the location took no more than 15 minutes. Even the test for my first donation was quick, just under 30 minutes. The whole process took about 3 hours (including the physical & donating blood), but it was worth it since you get paid for your time. The staff were really friendly and very organized and did everything by the book. Amanda, my nurse, was fantastic. She explained everything well and followed through exactly as she said
This was my very first time at BioLife and my very first time donating plasma. I was there 4 hours the first day but it was an interesting experience... you should probably go later in the day or very early. I went at 11am and it was packed with people. Good experience overall. Feels good knowing I could help save a life!
Today's visit was great. The staff did a great job.
Almost two weeks ago I had almost day down on the chair to donate and I somehow realized I had left one of my car lights on so I went outside (just to turn it off) and quickly went back in a d was told they could not accept my donation because I had gone outside without authorization. I had no idea they had this rule and I was only outside for a maximum of two minutes. I feel this is unfair to me because I have already donated many times here at the Waters location. So they already know I am not just poppin
Tampa Center they are short staff and most of them looks like no qualify to do the Job, they took almost more than 3 hours per person, the floor is dirty and the pay is low for what you give.
Had my initial appointment here for physical and donation and I got there earlier than expected! My appointment time was 4:45 but I got there at 4:05 the first person at the desk was rude didn't even service me they just walked away and never came back then the next imbecile I encountered was a rude African American girl with braces who had a attitude the minute she came up to me and had the audacity to get mad at me because I was early for my appointment! Never in my years of working in the medical field m
Can someone explain me what's the purpose of just sitting on bench without connect to machine for 25 mins.. some of nurses just chatting they don't even pay attention.
Awesome bedside manner. Always makes me feel secure in the donation process.
Wonderful experience! Beautiful new location on Waters in Tampa. Donating plasma here help make medicines for people with autoimmune disease! Update?? after my first visit. Everything kind of changed. They only seem to treat the people with a new don't sign well my second and future appointments were very different from my first. They really need a refresher on why us donors are there, to help others, they seem to forget that, and the way that they treat us.
Just had a horrible experience today. They opened at 10am instead of 9am. I had an appointment at 9:40am. I got there at 10 am and was told ?sorry, we had to cancel all appointments before 10am.? There were no donators in line - I was the only one there. The manager wouldn't budge and wouldn't allow a simple override for me. Again - there was nobody in line or getting screened. Sorry - horrible support. The worst. Total thumbs down. This also would?ve been my second donation this week so it stung
Horrible first experience. I went up to the desk, which had a long line because NOBODY was manning it for upwards of 10-20 minutes, and told them it was my first time being here and what do I do to start. The one of the staff shoos me to the "new person" room and tells me to wait to be called, where I'm stuck without direction for almost an hour. Once I'm called, another rude staff member calls my name incorrectly, never looks in the new person room, and then skips over me. I had to get there attention once
I have had nothing but positive experiences at the St. Paul, MN location. Everyone is very friendly and thorough. They explain everything having to do with the process. The center is also very clean. I feel safe and comfortable donating at BioLife.
Although the staff are friendly, it was an extremely long process for 1st time donors. It took me all day. They are always crowded, and they open late, so there's not many options to have people spread out throughout the day. There was no ease in their process. They could use some tips and tricks for the highly recommended Largo location. It runs so much more smoothly
I have had tried to set up an appointment many times, but this whole blood by donation is the biggest Joke I have ever seen . I checked your schedule system always booked , then I hear good things . So far I can go into Octaplasma and get in and get out . And be compensated for my time and convenience. Lately all I have seen at these other donation places is Narcis attitudes and all We all forget we're there for reason not our selves
I really appreciate the staff and environment at this place. Great way to help people and make a little extra money at the same time!
Pleasant, but disorganized and behind schedule. I wound up leaving after an hour without giving a donation because they left me on a chair and didn't come back, but other people who came in after me got hooked up right away. When I started to walk out is when someone finally said something to me. They need to work on their awareness and task delegation. I will try again tomorrow at this location one more time. *Update- upgraded to 4 stars. I went back the next day and had a much better experience. The flo
Professional, courteous & the techs make you feel confident about the process.
This is such a wonderful place to donate plasma. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE NURSE YET! I set an appointment at 2:40pm and it's now 5:29pm. I'm a first time donor at Bio Life but have donated at other places before and this is unbelievable! I do not see how anyone is giving this place 5 stars. Yes the 2 people I have interacted with thus far have been nice but the process is broken. And the website and notification emails have been lies. They claim the first time donating will only take 2 hours. I've been here for 2 hours and fifty two minutes and am still wa
My experience was quick and easy! They fed us and we were treated kindly. My technician was Wendy and she was like a smooth sailor with her procedure! No problems at all! Shout out to bio plasma center great place
Subject: Extremely Disappointed with Biolife Plasma Center on Waters Ave. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent experiences at the Biolife Plasma Center on Waters Ave. in Tampa. I have been a regular donor for several months, but my recent visits have been nothing short of frustrating. On two separate occasions, the center's equipment malfunctioned, resulting in my being deferred for eight weeks. This significant delay in my ability to donate has caused me considerable inconvenien
Donated for the first time yesterday. I'm normally very anxious in healthcare settings but the staff I interacted with were all very nice and made me comfortable. The phlebotomist named Avery was extremely good at her job. Anyone who donates will be lucky to work with her.
Extreme wait times. 1.5 wait from check in time. only one row of machines running with 20 people standing in line to get on machine.
I felt like a herd of cattle shuffling thru there. I really wanted to donate plasma because I know of the positive benefits it can bring. Got MAJOR hematoma on my arm, therefore unable to donate again for 2 weeks until swelling goes done, which I would never donate there again! I think they need to monitor their phlebotomists skills. No empathy there what so ever. Nurse Sherri was nice.
The staff at this location are exceptional and extremely friendly. Being a new location they are still working out some minor kinks with the flow of the center, but I am on my 4th donation and have seen noticeable improvements! I had an issue with payment on my 2nd donation and Nick was extremely diligent in researching and promptly resolving the issue. Everyone who is commenting that there are longer than normal wait times needs to keep in mind that only half of the production floor is currently operationa
Everyone there is pleasant and does a great job, but the company needs to hire as they are understaffed.
Vanessa was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was the second person to come & try to fix the flow of my vein but I wasn't even poked right to begin with. As I'm trying to explain something to her she is literally cutting me off and telling me I'm not going to receive full payment. When she mentioned my other arm I told her out of courtesy in not waisting anybody?s time because I KNOW MY BODY & she was rolling her eyes and ducking her teeth at me like a little girl. Very childish and unprofessional. Thi
I have recently switched from the Largo location to Tampa newly opened and I am disappointed. The staff that welcomes and takes the vitals has go to get it together. I love the staff in the donation side they are doing a great job! If I don't feel they have it together soon I would rather drive to largo about 25 min away than the two min ride from my home in Tampa.
The team is great and donor flow was awesome today. Got in and out in decent time. The facility is nice and clean. BioLife has my vote! Even better, I'm helping improve lives!
Vikki is an amazing manager! She makes the functioning of the center way better. Really kind with everybody too. I had a really good experience.
Everyone is pleasant and willing to help, however, I always have problems with my veins and on many occasions they pinched a nerve that caused hematoma and that prevented me from going to donate for more than a week. Robert, with his kindness and patience, is the only one in the location of Waters Ave who manages to get my vein. Thank you Robert, you are simply The Best.
Miguel from Tampa, FL is the best. He was very professional and handle my situation very careful. You can tell that Miguel cares about his donors and takes pride in his job. Keep up the good job Miguel!
So I donated yesterday I came in my appointment was at 4:45 I sat down at 5:00 as soon as they poked me I started donating I donated 230 ml but then the machine stopped and supposedly the reason why the machine stopped was I had something called with the H I don't know what the word is pronounced but they asked me if they wanted to put the blood back into me I didn't answer so she just took it out thinking I answered should I get deferred or should I not get deferred about that so the employees make the dec
I changed my review after my second time there . There seems to be a bunch of new employees and a lot of attitudes and no one wants to work there too busy socializing to help the customers I sat in a bed in the back waiting to get hooked up they started hooking people up that sat down after me finally I got hooked up and finished and waiting over 20 minutes for them to in hook me because again the employees where too busy socializing . Very poorly run location I've been to a couple other locations and I'm n
Yes, because the new donor process took a loooooooong time for me to do because of somewhat complications they were not my doing, or BioLife doing. It was a my primary Dr. Issue. But BioLife handled everything seemlessly, I have good feelings about them handling the experience I had.?? Yes, I would definitely recommend them to anyone ??
Literally an hour and 45 min wait before I even began donating. This place is almost always backed up. They over book and are under staffed.
Had an appointment. Waited 45 minutes after checking in to ask what was happening. Told me it would be another 30 minutes until they even saw me. If you don't respect the time of your patients, they will go somewhere else. Don't go here, it's a circus.
I was here today and the lady who was putting my information in the system was so funny that she can see me I am a male but keep asking me what is my gender . Very rude lady
Scam ? they don't respect appointments and is a total mess . This place should shut down immediately. Staff super rude and unprofessional
They are physically unable of learning how to answer a phone. It's sad
Super friendly employees that remember your face and take a interest in your life and make everything pleasant. Quick in and out my donation? takes less than 75 mins? which is unheard of with the other plasma centers?
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
