I highly recommend avoiding this location and take the time to drive to another one. The team here are very unwelcoming, there was trash on the floor. Need to train one of your male staff how to insert a needle. He blew out my vein! The other donor next to me whom he was attending to felt unwell and couldn't complete their session. Reply to owner:(6/13) On here will be Perfectly fine.
So today?s my second time donating And the young lady who stuck me was awesome from start to finish. Helping me as much as possible as needed any way that she can. The nurse sandy was super sweet and does an excellent job at was she does. However today it was very unprofessional? I sat down on a bed to be stuck at 4:04 pm mind you bad attitude never smiling ?Kandi? is in this Bay doing absolutely nothing. First off she didn't even acknowledge me yet when the man after me comes in the bay she acknowledges hi
I have been coming to this location for years. This last time I had a brand new technician try to draw my blood. It didn't go well, so I was told I had to switch arms. Two ?red sticks? tried to re-stick using the same line without trying to clear it until I mentioned it, but it was too late. It was clogged and now I have been Deferred for 56 days. This makes me upset. It should not have happened. There was no one there that was capable to handle my situation. A photo on the left was the new technician. The
Donated today and still haven't received payment from my donation. Just curious of when I would be getting my payment.... Hopefully today..... seems like I'll never get my payment. All the other biolifes I never encountered this issue. But here I am. Never going to this location again if it going to take more then 4 hours to receive my funds.... Just disappointing
The staff is really nice and professional! I especially like Danielle she is very courteous and sweet. I do have one complaint the restroom never have paper towels and the hand dryers don't work. You have to use toilet paper to dry your hands. What a shame!
I think the staff is fairly nice and accommodating. I think that the facility itself needs some TLC, especially the restrooms! EVERY TIME I go to donate and have to go use the restroom, they are nasty! There are bandaids stuck on the walls, toilet paper everywhere on the floor, the dryers don't work and the toilets don't look sanitized/deodorized either. I've worked in Facilities before, for many years, those restrooms constantly need attention (especially with so many people who go to your clinic).
Overall, good place and mostly good experiences. They just need to be consistent. For example, couple of days ago I laid on a bed for 26 mins. waiting to be hooked up. Referred my brother and 4 donations in, while in the middle of donating, the worker walked up to him and pulled the needle out and blood squirted everywhere. She was distracted talking to another worker and than laughed during the situation. How does that happen?? Aside from things like that, mostly good customer service.
People are fun, personable , and knowledgeable there. They're great with finding your vein and I never leave bruised or painful. I'm blessed to get to save others and have a little savings on the side too! I heard there was a kids daycare once-I could refer many stay at home moms if this was an option again!
The place was clean and ready, but they wouldn't let me drink my chocolate shake from Uber right away?apparently, I had to wait to drink in my car. Ask for Candie, she's the best honestly.
I've been donating at this location for a while. There is one particular tech that I prefer to stick me. His name is Kevin, he is so sweet and attentive. Rarely have any donating issues when he sticks me. Others I tend to bruise or take an extremely long time to donate. Thanks Kevin for your help in making the donation process much smoother.
I was very disappointed and angry with my recent donation. Not only was the machine messed up so it kept stopping midway through so that was a pain. What was a bigger pain was the fact that the first two employees messed up my arm because they were incompetent and couldn't find the vein. So instead of getting a senior worker, they fiddled around with the needle moving it a bunch inside my arm which hurt like hell. Overall not happy with this place.
Candie was my tech today, and as always, she was absolutely wonderful! She has such a positive attitude and truly takes the time to listen, even when I chat her ear off. I always request her personally because she is so gentle and makes the entire experience comfortable from start to finish. I genuinely appreciate her kindness and professionalism!
Let's see where do I begin, the center has been the best BioLife I have been to in years. Always clean always has staff that ( even in busy times ) will answer your questions and assist if needed. Ms. Candi has stuck me many times and each time made it painless and enjoyable. She keeps a smile on her face and quells any concerns of having to be stuck with the needle more than once. She like many others at this location have made the donating experience amazing.
I've been donating here for a year and I haven't experienced the level of disrespect I have the last time I went in I went in 10 day ago to get a physical done after I had waited 4 months the amount of time they say to wait after getting a tattoo or piercing I went in expecting it to go smoothly they told me because I got a tattoo AFTER I had donated that I was going to be put under investigation and to wait 10 days and call to see if im able to donate so that's what I did I called they said I could so I we
I have donated plasma many different times and different locations (Pennsylvania) and let me tell you this locations is very clean and for the most part all the staff is very polite. If you are regular you already know what to do ,but if it's your first time it can be a little intimidating. First time donors can get from $650 to $750 which they should pay A LOT MORE , they do give an incentive for first responders/ military. They have a scheduled system (phone App) unless you are a first timer which make
This review is on the company and not this location. The people here are fantastic but the company is awful. I had a bad reaction to a donation and asked the customer service rep to talk to one of the nurses. They put me on hold then hung up on me. I didn't hear from anyone until the next day almost 14 hours later after already seeking treatment. The nurse then informed me that she wasn't informed about it until 10 min before the call took place. Company outsourced the jobs overseas and they don't care abo
Niya and Zoey are awesome! They go above and beyond to make my donation experience great; putting my needs and my care first! They are friendly and positive. Every time I see them they have a smile on their face and always ready to step in and help others. Thank you ladies!
Do not ever go here and do this unless you want hematomas and your veins all messed up from the inexperienced techs they use to draw your blood. Deleted and canceled my account and will never be back, and will try and cost you as many customers as I can. Out of my 28 donations, I was stabbed wrong 3 times, given a hematoma and have seen many other people while I was donating get a hematoma also. This comes from them not putting the needle in correctly, don't care what they say, I know that's what it's from.
I use to donate years ago and had multiple bad experiences with other plasma services. I was hesitant to try again, but BioLife made the process so easy and literally painless! From booking our appointments online, the physical, all questions & even online questions after the donation process, everything was smooth & handled professionally! Marlene was very gentle and I didn't even feel the stick! I was in and out, in about 2 hours as a new donor! David handle my online inquiry in a timely manner and was ex
This was a great experience! I went in a lil nervous about the whole process, but Rosa helped me feel more comfortable. I didn't like my interaction with the nurse. it seems she was having a bad day or something was irritating her. For new donators, it's not helpful to feel like you're being judged for everything you say in the physical. Everyone else was very helpful & not bothered by questions. The female that stuck me was very friendly, efficient, & didn't miss! The 1st visit was 3 hours, so plan
Don't come here a lot of the young technicians that don't have experience . Plus being understaffed will leave you on no flow for a long time. There was about 8 no flow while I was here. I had 3 adjustments and there was no technicians around in my area . Here I am stuck on no flow again.
Techs are really nice. But not good to let the new ones experiment on your veins as that becomes a little more painful. They (corp office not local) have a new system installed recently that takes more plasma that according to the employee depends on your height and weight. So they are taking more (20% more), which in turn takes longer (more of your time), yet the promotion is the lowest I've seen in a year. My thought is that if you are taking more and it's taking longer to process each donor then the payo
Horrible customer service all the girls stare at you don't great you, at this rate they will stay at BioLife plasma for the rest of their life with that attitude. I should have read the reviews before coming here horrible horrible I will be contacting corporate.
There's a few that make the visits feel like a breeze, specifically Michelle always has a great friendly attitude that I notice on my visits even often making others smile such as myself! Thank you Michelle for the positive visits!
I am literally here now wasted my gas because as usual I listened to one employee that my physical is ok and I ask are you sure because it's expired and I scheduled my appointment. ? no , you have a few more weeks, and it will work? I come and everyones confused as always (not slightest to the first time) the lack of training and intelligence is concerning. Especially the lack of quality leadership, you can see man employees attempting to do their best with the resources given. Still not appropriate for a m
Donating did not go smoothly as planned. I don't mind that I got a new phlebotomist/technician after my first time back in over 10 years but a couple things were done wrong from what I could hear being said, which in turn made the machine operate as a blood donation instead of plasma. Loss a decent amount of blood. Huge recognition to the technician Kevin that came and got me unhooked and situated with the nurse. Got paid, I'll have to wait 8 weeks to donate again & being a jobless university student makes
Biolife on Pat Booker is always very good to me. The staff is friendly & several of the techs know me as a regular donor. Lindsie, Sophie, Issac, Homero, Kari, Victoria & a few others always strike up a conversation with me & are always friendly & helpful.
I have donated plasma at three different lab companies and BioLife is by far the best. They are clean, organized, and treat donors professionally. Today, Maria told me I cannot give because of my high BP. She tried. She took it three times at intervals. When they cannot take my plasma, they lose the revenue it brings. They want me to donate. When they do not allow it, it is because they are looking out for ME. This location works by appointment only. There's another location of this company 7 miles from my
In and out in less than an hour the phlebotomist was awesome she had exceptional skills. Overall everyone that I have encountered there is super nice and helpful once again Victoria is the best employee you have there so hard-working and professional. She made me feel comfortable relaxed and also that I was in good hands Victoria definitely should get some kind of special recognition ??????
All I wished to do is donate blood. Didn't need the third degree and multiple forms of identification. Wasn't looking for money just to donate blood. Why does everything have to be so difficult. Walked in for my appointment and everyone running around like their heads were cut off. After the 3rd degree, I just left
The customer service is spotty and lack of empathy is huge here. I got sent home for taking a call outside for one second karen Reed was super ugly about it you could tell she took joy from denying me the opportunity to donate plasma. Stay away from Karen krystal Reed. everyone else is nice
Worst place ever to donate Plasma, the staff are extremely rude, they have no education, no manners. The supervisor in this location acting like she doing me a favor. Ugly place, never back again ????????????????
For a month the hand dryers in both bathrooms not working. Paper towels or something to dry hands should be there to dry hands. No soap in the dispensers or they were broken for at least a month. Someone finally took initiative and put a soap bottle in the bathrooms Ty.
The most unorganized location ever!!! I went back after being gone for a good bit due to getting a tattoo had to do a physical and during the physical I mentioned how some of my older tattoos where not listed (you could clearly tell these tattoos where old) and since the last person didn't put them in I got deferred and told I'm not allowed back. Biggest joke and waste of time ever went to csl who I had previously been to before BioLife and they got me in did a physical and my donation in shorter time than
Clinic experience was generally good. Early payouts were worth the trouble. After a month, don't bother.
This is the second time they have not paid me for my donation at this place. They never answer the phone of give you a call back. And the owner doesn't fix the problems just reply?s saying there sorry and reach out through the website. That doesn't fix nothing because the same simple problems keep occurring. This place is not good anymore. What if I really needed my donation money. But we got to wait cuzz yall don't pay on time it's not that hard this is the only place that's made me wait for my money long
The process seemed fluid and everyone was pleasant and informed you well at all stations of what was to be done.
I hate the new system they started. Not only are you donating more, but you are still paid the same. It also takes longer because it tries to go faster to get more but the filters keep clogging up. Then it takes forever for someone to come help fix it. It's very frustrating.
These kids don't know what they're doing, I was here in December and missed out on like a $1500 bonus and I Only got paid for a few visits, the first visit the kid (is everyone that works here 20?!) barely paid attention when sticking me and needed adjusting, the 2nd and 3rd time I came back I had to be stuck by 3 different people (and I am VERY veigny meaning they should have easily drawn blood every time) but they caused a hematoma, said it would take 2 months to get my blood back bc they drew it but cou
I'm very frustrated? I have had two consecutive low protein draws. I have been now awaiting a call for my protein sample which has now been seven business days and they are now through a call center so I can't directly call the universal city location. I'm trying to get answers to see if I can continue donating and no one can seem to help me. This is very frustrating as I have been a continuous donor. I want to be able to help, but also want my lab results.
Always a pleasant experience here! The staff are very friendly and make an effort to to get you in and out in a timely manner.
A few weeks ago they were offering $150 for 2 donations. Then they changed it to $140 the. A week later 130 then the next week 120 now I just got an email from them and it's down to 110. Miss me with that shyt like you miss the vein half the time BioLife.
My fingerprint never scans correctly and I end up wasting 15 minutes. Other than that it's been a great experience!
I recommend coming to this place if u donate plasma.... Every bit counts . But the reason I recommend here ,Out of all the others is because there workers are very dedicated to doing there best and respecting others and there since of care shows. I would like to say thank u again for the great experience. Cari...
They give you MISINFORMATION about donating! They do not give you a payout the same day! That's what they promise people just to get you in the door. I spoke to a man and he said wait an hour, I called again and they said donating could take up to 24 hours for a payment.
All staff has been kind & courteous. Always treated with great care & professionalism.
I have been more than happy with my overall experience at the Cibolo location. Everyone is well trained, professional & efficient. We all hope to approach every day to make a difference in people?s lives. I am confident your facility goes above & beyond to achieve those objectives. Thank You for training your staff to provide the best service and overall experience. Sincerely, J.J. Flores
The staff are always so nice! Plus, Na'thalia always does a great stick for me!
Been going here since they opened and they need to retrained in how to do vitals and phlebotomy techniques cause there hiring alot of new people at the Universal City area that don't know how to do either correctly. I had this girl do my blood pressure and she did it incorrectly the first time and I had someone else do it immediately the second time and it was correct. This has happened twice by the same girl and it's never happened before. And she's been there almost a year. This is costing people time, mo
This is the best donation center by far and I've gone to two others companies before. Crystal checked me in and although my appointment was for 6:10 (PM) and I misread the appointment and arrived in the (AM). After she confirmed when I had last eaten, they were able to fit me in anyway. I was extremely happy about that because I caught an Uber there. Jess did my vitals; she was super nice and explained all that would be done. The nurse that I was seen by was Barbara also really friendly (and informative) an
Payment dropped from 125 a week to 115 a week. My Wife donates and still gets 125 a week. No explanation at all .. the workers just say we don't control the payment on your app
Showed upnin time, git checked in and played there for 25 minutes before getting hooked up. Meanwhile people that came in after me got hooked up way before me.
It would be in the patient?s best interest if you train your employees on how to properly access the vein with confidence because fishing with a 16 gauge needle or bigger is unsafe for anyone! My veins are larger than normal, and I still ran into a problem even after her superior attempted to correct the problem at that moment it was too late. We as donors suffer the consequence of getting a partial payment after we've driven to your establishment in hopes of successfully, completing our donation.
Needle was placed incorrectly and one of the walk around attendees at yellow station told me in a aggressive manner "if you don't pump you will be removed." I was taking a 30 second break. I was there for a long time by then. Either way the nurse who did the physical was amazing. She was smart and educated. She was patient and courteous.
Sometimes good, a lot of times no one watches the area you're in so if there's an issue no one will see it. Appointment don't always work you could still be waiting an hour to get in from your appointment due to over scheduled and understaffed chasing that dollar
I am happy to help those that need it! I have not had a bad experience in the time that I have been donating. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable.
I waited 35 minutes before someone came and started my donation. I layed there watching team playing, laughing, joking. Telling customers they knew to suck there you know what. That came from a girls mouth by the way to another women laying next to me that was waiting for her. No one making eye contact, not wanting to be asked for anything. The ones that were working were over working trying to keep up while majority played essentially. There is nothing wrong with having fun while working but there is a tim
first day didn't go well... stood at front counter for over 10 mins before even being noticed... once helped the cleck kept being pulled away... once I finally made it to the next step after almost 30 mins after walking in the front door... I couldn't pass the screening (my B/P was too high) I wonder why... went back the next day.. made it to the donation chair... then once they started... the IV "infitrated" so I was asked to reschedule again... still have nasty bruising on my arm... came back 3 days later
Son went there. A few issues: 1. Kept using the same spot 3x?s in just over a week, not walking up or using a different spot. 2. iv infiltration. Seriously, it's not that hard. As an army medic who has done iv's a thousand times, never has happened. See the pics as we monitor for compartment syndrome as this is 6 days and getting worse (can't move arm). Please note, the seriousness of something like this is as mild as an irritation to necrosis and amputation. No follow up, no treatment, no guidance fro
Terrible service. Incompetent people and/or stupid policies. I've visited 3 times and each time have been unable to donate.. the 1st time, it was because the 3 documents for proof of address wasn't enough apparently and they didnt have the wheelchair scale for me (that they assured me on the phone they had), the 2nd time it was because "only a doctor can perform the physical since ur in a wheelchair (even though everyone else gets it done by a nurse) and he's only here on Tuesdays and Fridays", and the 3rd
So I wanted to donate plasma here went through a whole online process told me to make an appointment I get to the counter to check I. And the woman was totally rude saying I need your confirmation that you have an appointment just proceeded to address other people while I found my appointment and had to now wait on others to be seen first. This is a first I have donated plasma at other places years ago first time here and just surprised.
Very pleasant staff, and the system they have in place seems to flow quick and easy.
Lorena, Keyana, Alyana, and Michelle with above and beyond making me feel comfortable and giving me the information I needed to fully know what to expect and what was going on.
I've been coming to the Universal City location for about 3 years now. All the staff are hard working, friendly, & very efficient. They are a little slow now. Thank you'll for being awesome. God Bless ?????? #savinglives
The place is not very clean, especially the restrooms. They are always dirty, and often times do not even have soap. Some of the workers are good, however, many are not skilled and are in desperate need of more training in their work and customer service skills. Also, the compensation for donors is unfair. They tend to only offer extra to those who do not go on a regular basis. Unfortunately, meeting the metric is what seems to be the priority and not caring for donors or even obtaining plasma for tho
Friendly and efficient staff! Bathrooms need some work. Either fix the hand dryers or bring back the paper towels
The nurses at the front desk can definitely work on there communication and people skills. Other then that the staff are Very professional. I just completed my eight donations for $800 and I am satisfied. Other then the staff at the front asking me ?what's up? today when I was trying to get some chips and water as I was leaving because I interrupted her conversation, I've only really had a one negative experience due to the nurse with good intention trying to stick me in a different spot than usual due to s
Great place, lines fair not too many problems with the wait. Got to check my weight and we'll being. It's good ??
water fountain has been broken for over a month with no signs of repairs, and staff ran out of water bottles to give out
I am a fairly new donor. Been about 5 times, have over $700 on my card. I am beyond impressed by the ship shape sterility and organization of BioLife. The staff is excellent. Patient, thorough, friendly and always willing to help. After the first two times with detailed physical and long questionnaire, I am now usually in and out in 45 minutes! What is not to ???? I am using all the funds to support my dog rescue, AND I may help another human too? Double rainbow. Thank you all!
Well one it was very busy, when I arrived. The young lady at the counter was able to get all my info and set me up to get my physical done. She was very through when explaining the donation process. After that I got my vitals and a sample of my blood taking. That was pretty easy. Than sat with a nurse to do the physical and than on to the donating chair. Everyone was polite and energetic. My guy Alex was amazing. He took good care a re of explaining what he was doing and how long the process would take. As
No issues other than there always seems to be a restroom out of order. At the very least I wish they would put a sign that says ?even ?flushable? wipes should not be flushed there?. Today, after waiting, when I walked into the restroom that wasn't out of order?there sat a pack of wipes on the floor by the toilet. I thought to myself, how soon until BOTH restrooms are out of order. We need to be pretty hydrated before donating, and if I'm not able to relieve myself right before and right after donating, that
I've been donating here for about 2 years now and have never had an issue. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The negative reviews I see from people here, I guess, have never experienced being short staffed or never had anything go wrong anywhere they've gone. Nothing but complaining.
They were very busy today. We had to wait about 15 minutes before getting on a computer because the line was so long. The young lady at the counter did a great job under these circumstances. Everyone was very nice and did a great job under the circumstances. Thank you to all the staff!!
Update I emailed corporate and got no response back regarding the situation.** I went to this facility on 9/11 and had an awful experience. The tech that assisted me first rubbed my arm down in the solution( iodine?) and said she was going to let it dry for 30secs and would be back. During that time she assisted another patient and returned about 2 minutes later( no change of gloves). She quickly stuck my arm and left. She went too far in and someone else had to correct it. We (the techs) struggled to get
I have been coming to this location for almost a year. The staff is super friendly! My favorite techs would have to be Rosemary, Mel and Angelica, they are always super friendly and professional. I will keep sharing with my friends about this place. Thanks biolife!
Unsanitary. The blow dryers and soap hasn't been in the restrooms for months and nobody attends to it. No matter how many messages are sent.
Honestly I'm glad I waited to do the survey after my second visit. The first visit, since I'm assuming I'm brand new and you guys pump your numbers up due to me being a new customer I get treated great and with attention, my second visit has been terrible. The receptionist and subsequent visit with the nurse I was treated with less than a satisfactory tone. When asking questions during your initial visit: great attitude from everyone. When asking questions during your second visit : you get terrible looks,
I donate quite often at the universal City location every time I donate it's always very seamless and efficient and quick with no issues when I have any issues that would arise no flow flowing any issues whatsoever the customer service phlebotomist people are amazing they resolve the issue they reassure me everything is fine and I always feel like I'm the only client there knowing that they deal with over 50 to 100 people everyday at any given time few people such as Zoe,Candy,Nadia,Jess,Kat and Bob always
I am a bit disappointed at my bad experience with BioLife first time?since one of my friends had told me their bad experience I gave BioLife the benefit of the doubt and decided to go. Just like she said ?they look for any excuse not to see you? I drive around 45 minutes and told them I did and they didn't take me because my daughters name was linked to my email. Which I noticed you could change the name in the profile and done but they said I had to reschedule. They first said I needed my social, ID, and t
Machines going off and staff just keep walking. They once upon a time were amazing. Not anymore. They have good days and bad. Mostly bad. You sometimes sit for 30 minutes for staff to stick you so donation can start. Be careful, some so called red sticks are NOT. They miss, restick and it's worse. Bruising and an hour and a half donations are the new norm. So sad.
Very satisfied with this place , fast , easy and took away my concerns of needles , the staff is great with setting up for donars. God bless y'all
My experience was quick and easy. Daniela did a fabulous job getting me all set up. It's always nice that they know who we are or remember us and have a little conversation as they are getting us set up.
Staff is efficient and relatively friendly. 10 minutes before or after scheduled appointment is the way things go and they look after people who need response too. Could be stretching an arm out and they ask if everything is okay. Favorite person is Nyah!
It's a very busy place ?. But having a reservation and arriving on time is ideal. Please remember to eat and drink healthy foodstuff. I have seen the staff provide water and snacks to those who need it. The staff at BioLife are always asking ? you doing ok?? The BioLife Staff here are always very helpful and caring. I've enjoyed my experience and if you are wondering how to give back this is your opportunity. It's a clean and well maintained facility. There are several people who stand out but there is alwa
I have been a donator for quite a while. Today I went for the second time this week and got only 20 dollars! You put your body through hell donating and get nothing in return!!!
I wish all my experience were as good as this one. They were running behind but because I has a good stick I had good flow and was in/out in 50 minutes. I am usually there for 60-90 minutes depending on how good stick is(i have small veins and they run sideways down my arms).
Great customer service by Alyana. She stuck me correctly and had great manners. Very humble and highly professional. I recommend her a raise. 5 star review. Place is clean most days but overall okay.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
