Nurses are nice but staff members on the floor look like they hate their job. Not a very friendly atmosphere. Especially the Brandy lady ugly attitude how did she even get hired in the first place is crazy. Also directions are not so clear as a new donor lucky I knew somebody who worked there to explained it better
The team are good and nice. Talking to you while you are there and the thank you when you are done . Even though you vein are not able to pump the at the day.The tech who is working with you , never pouch and thank you for coming. For me I do have goal to help people with plasma until number 500 .
Sat in the waiting area for 23 mins. After she told me I needed to go eat and come back. She continued to help people that have been there before but not the new patient. Waisted time and money.
I would give no stars if I could. The staff at the Wausau location are very rude and unfriendly. There's no hello or any type of welcome greeting. They just look at you when you come through the door. I tried to let them know at check in that I was a new donor. She just talked over me and didn't even check what I brought for verification before she said that I needed additional verification. Apparently you have to show a marriage or divorce decree with a name change, even if you have a SS card, drivers lice
Everything is fast until you're getting done. Consistently takes 5-15 minutes for a nurse to come unhook me. The only BioLife I know that prioritizes setting patients up before getting other patients out.
I've donated almost 20 times now, and every time has been fairly quick. everyone is always friendly and attentive.
Donating is fine. The place is clean and seems pretty sanitary. Some of the ladies who work in the donation area seem annoyed to be there though.
The stafff knew what they were doing excellent service but definitely am dissatisfied by how I got deferred but things happen but the center was good and did the right procedures to make things go smoothly.
Ever since the saline process has changed due to shortage biolife stated that the process would be much faster and that is by far from the truth I've seen people wait long times and I've waited almost 45 minutes to be hooked up sitting in a chair now I also understand short staff call ins, but There is staff on site and sections open. This whole saline change is nothing but a mess and the wait times are absolutely ridiculous. I used to be in and out within 30 minutes now I'm there almost over an hour. Not
Total BS that the emails and website have misleading information. They say you have a 10 minute before window and a 10 minute after and then you drive a half hour thinking you have that window and they don't allow you to donate if your not there within a 5 minute window. I wouldn't have wasted my time and gas. And then tell you to come back tomorrow but there's no point because the week starts over and you don't receive your $75 for the week before. Change your information in your emails and on your website
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I've always had a great experience when donating!
If it's been a while since you donated, here are a few updates. New machines have been installed and the average time for donation is 30 minutes. There are new staff members that are more customer oriented to make you feel welcome. IV fluid is back so you no longer have to fill up with unnecessary carbs. Just maintain your hydration and have a healthy meal prior to donating. Even on the busiest days, things go smoothly. Come on back and help those in need.
I come to realize your people that are faithfull doners you never send out a nice month offer and always are lowering their weekly payout when you get us coming there....I will stay away for now
The staff here should not be interacting with the public. They are rude and over emotional.
It's kind of a scam. You get like $20 or $70 a donation and they sell it for $500+ lol. If you go long enough you'll have a permanent hole in your arm too btw.
Fond du lac bio life is horrible their staff member gave me a hematoma in my arm and in 7 years of doing this I've never had that happen they need to retrain their members
Love love love Bio life. Always a good experience. Today however, after starting the process, I put on some sunglasses. Not the first time. Not dark glasses, just tinted. Had a guy come over and demand I remove my glasses. Not really a big deal, but he obviously missed the training class on customer service. I'm a customer, he works for me.
Never have available times to donate. Have to literally book 3 weeks in advance to get an evening spot. ***update-5 months later*** Scheduling has become a lot more flexible and availability has increased. No more standing in long lines waiting for finger poke or a bed to open. Can be in and out in under an hour.
Normally I have a great experience, but the screener who checks your vitals is extremely rude. She snaps at everyone who is under her care and made my experience unpleasant. Luckily I the phlebotomist who took my blood was super kind and welcoming. I normally have a great experience but in particular when I see the one screener my experience is unpleasant.
My experiences at Biolife are consistently positive. The staff is friendly and professional. On occasion they are understaffed, but they work hard to process donors quickly. There is some turnover of staff, s be patient as they learn on the job.
Dana is always so accommodating, polite, skilled, and professional. Very communicative and concerned with my well-being during my donation. Definitely an asset to Biolife !
I enjoy my Friday and Sunday donation after working Monday-Thursday
When I went in for my first time in years, I had a terrible experience. I didn't understand the information that was being relayed to me, and instead of being helped I was called a Karen in front of the entire lobby. I was then proceeded the next time to be denied of donating anywhere after my second visit. The second visit did not go well as I was sitting for 10 minutes being explained to the fact that I would not be able to donate.
When I first started going there. It was always disconnect first. I would sit down and they would disconnect 1 to 3 people before they hooked me up. It has become inconsistent. Now my finish alarm will go off and they connect 1 or 2 people before they disconnect, and I sit with a needle in my arm for up to 25 minutes. To improve your center make signs. "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE" OR "WE ALWAYS DISCONNECT FIRST" Make it consistent so donors do not feel like they are being ignored are in different pre
Friendly staff and everything about my visit went smoothly
I have been donating for almost a year and all I can say about the facility and Staff at BioLife is Wow. The facility is tremendous and the staff is very friendly and professional. It is one of the favorite things I get to do during the week! Thank you for what you do and keep up the great work. It is greatly appreciated specially from me!??????
Everyone is always friendly and professional. One thing though, I thought Donner's weren't supposed to talk on their phones or watch videos without headphones. Very annoying! But, Maybe that has changed.
Donated today and one staff member was very odd and rude. When I first started donating a few weeks ago she made a rude comment.....today she was completely insane. I don't know what her problem was but it really upset me. Very rude and nasty to me I can't believe how poorly she treated me. I took it personal because she knew a few donar's by name and said hello and good morning to them while I was there, but kept treating me poorly. Very unprofessional and I'm scared to go back. Please do something about t
It is a pleasure and a dream come true, even though I was nervous about being the first time, but I achieved it and I want to do it forever, everyone was very kind.
Biolife seems to have made major changes to their scheduling. Also have faster machines so the whole donation process from walking in to walking out is usually under an hour. Much improved over the way things were!! Great source of extra money.
Horrible place. Staff is very rude and take FOREVER. Nurse took me in a closed office for a "non-evasive" exam. Why did she have to spend 5 minutes examining my testicles for me to give blood? That's non-evasive?
Great experience, very friendly staff. I love being able to donate for such a great cause. I am a stay at home mom, so my daughter gets to come and play and interact with the kids and staff in their daycare room they offer while you donate. It is a locked and secured room with lots of fun things for the kids to do. The staff in there are great, they will do art projects with them and interact with them. My daughter looks forward to coming twice a week. So it is nice that I can donate and she can benefit fro
Professional, clean, & easy process. Great staff ??
The staff is very friendly. I really appreciate when you walk into the front door and the staff in front welcomes you by name.
One of the nurses here was EXTREMELY rude. It's clear she was having a bad day, but I don't see that as an excuse to treat the donors poorly. She had her voiced raised, complaining and letting everybody in the waiting hall know she was in a bad mood. She raised her voice at donors who were a little confused and said ?apparently no one knows how to read? which is basically calling them dumb. Bad days happen, but it is extremely unprofessional to lose control of your emotions and treat your donors like they?r
Always a great experience at Rib mountain BioLife. The staff are welcoming and lively with a great sense of humor. Very clean inside and out. I enjoy coming here and donating. Thank you for everything you do!
Yeah they seem to be pretty understaffed, I mean if you go any time past 3:00 pm expect to be there for at least an hour 45 minutes, which may not seem terrible but even in the mornings when they have tons of openings they still seem to be frantically trying to service all the donators. And also I'd say about 50% of the time I go in to donate I end up with someone who doesn't really know what they're doing and they end up messing up the needle somehow and my arm is bruised and sore for a good week after. Al
My last four visits have been disappointing. I know they are short handed, but they need to do something about that, being higher pay, better management, better management of time. It should not take 1 1/12 hours from the time you walk in to have them disconnect you. I've been going to this location for 5 years and I can not see continuing coming to this location until they can figure out how to get people to join them and find a way to keep the talented help they hire.
They reel you in with some good promotions where it's worth while to donate but then after the promotion you get paid only $40 or $50 a donation. It's not worth destroying your veins for that little of money.
They denied my donation* Had multiple "doctors" look at my scars on my arm and said it would be fine and nothing in their paperwork said anything about self harm scars being a problem. They refused my donation and told me to get a doctor's note saying I can get blood draws. What doctor? I'm 19 and don't have insurance and just moved to Wisconsin the past two years. I recommend calling before hand and making them tell you every single requirement that isn't listed on paper. These are unprofessional "doctors
Went in on a Saturday, my pulse was to high(by three points). Went back on the following Tuesday and got through fine. The nurse (Khristy,I believe) was awesome. My wife had some minor complications after the donation and the nurse made sure everything was good before we left, and this was at 8:00pm. Very good overall with the staff as well.
If you are thinking easy money? Think again. They are understaffed and the woman I had the opportunity to work with was rude, unprofessional and lacked knowledge of her job. She struggled with the blood pressure cuff and . Argued with me that my driver license had the wrong address on it ( because Google says it's different) After that she took my blood pressure and it was 230. I wonder why.?? I canceled right after that knowing my pressure is not coming down there.
I enjoy donating plasma. It is easy, the staff I've gotten to know by name and vice versa. It's not a money thing rather it makes me feel good knowing I'm helping someone else and it's close to my work. I just hit 100 donations and I guess my only compliant is that I wish there was a little more appreciation of hitting certain milestones like that!
I've been donating at this location for 3 years. I have never had an unpleasant experience. The staff are all friendly, professional and hard workers! Keep up the great work! I've read many other posts where donors were deferred for various reason and were upset! People ! Realize this is for your and the person on the other ends safety!! I think majority of folks donate for the right reasons and some not!
This place used to be so well run. The employees used to be friendly, punctual and your appointment time was the time you'd actually get to donate. Now the employees are very slow, no sense of urgency and if you make it in and out in 2 hours it's a good day, used to be an hour in and out. I've donated 450 plus times and it just keeps getting worse.
Staff are super friendly and make you feel very welcome! They are willing to chit-chat a little which really makes it enjoyable. Kids always have fun in the playroom where they do crafts, play with other kids, and just have a good time!
The staff here is friendly, I've been going here for awhile now. But I can only give 3 stars for poor scheduling. Almost every time I schedule an appointment I end up waiting and end up being there for two hours when my donation only takes me an average of 45minutes to an hour. I schedule appointments according to my schedule. If you can't get people in and out by their scheduled times, maybe rethink how many scheduling times are available
Great staff. I've been donating since 2017 and the staff they have now is the best staff they have ever had. Great place, very friendly
I've been going back for about a couple months now. I was a little irritated at first because the coupon for previous donors to return didn't get applied to my account. Somehow I had two accounts under my name so they merged the accounts and removed the coupon. That was $900 I ended up missing out on. Otherwise most of the time is a decent experience. I always try to get into the section where Long is working. He is still training but he is my favorite phlebotomist since he always has a positive attitude. H
All of the employees are here to make sure I have a positive experience while donating, they do a great job! The employees know people by first name and make sure that you are comfortable and taken care of promptly and respectfully. Thank you for your attentiveness and a job well done.
I have been donating at this facility for over 6 months and have had a great experience every time. The employees are very nice and respectful, they are knowledgeable and answer any questions you may have. Child care is a plus, it's nice to know you can still donate and not have to worry about your children.
After my appointment I couldn't get my next appointment scheduled on the app as they had done an update. I uninstalled the app redownload it had to make up a new password and it still wouldn't work. One of there employees Katie was very kind and patient to try and help me as she couldn't access the log in herself. She went to a supervisor and explained the issues and what we had tried and the supervisor never came out of the office. Katie worked with me for about 20 minutes as we were finally able to get lo
Currently on my second donation of donating plasma and im appreciative of Laura looking out for her patients in every way, she and Deb are very outgoing and careful in their work!
First visit was nice and informative. I was referred by a friend, but they told me they had to be with me or actually sign the card provided so missed out on that promotion. Had the app code they sent me still not valid. Next visit I'm left waiting and the staff is more about in a rush and less nice. I figure as I keep going twice a week the $20 goes up according to the offers and stuff, but it isn't true and any coupons I bring they come up with something of why it doesn't apply. Next visit not nice at all
Christina is an absolute ALL STAR, every single time my experience has been amazing with her as my phlebotomist
There's trash on the floor throughout the donation area, there's not enough staff to accomadate the high volume of donors, And scheduling a day and time to donate twice a week is getting harder and harder. I'm not satisfied with my donation experience
Everyone at the Rib Mountain(Wausau area) is very friendly and professional. At times they are very busy and I am sure overwhelmed, buy always pleasant. Keep up the great work!!
Always a very professional, friendly experience. I've never had a bad experience, or trouble collecting the funds I've earned. I would recommend the place to anyone. If you end up getting Katie at check in tell her I said hello :)
Great people doing wonderful work. Very friendly and accommodating! No baby sitter? Book a time with playroom and they will watch them while you donate! Just remember not only will they watch your kid and pay you for your time but your also saving lives! Come see a smiling BioLife employee today! I promise you won't Be disappointed!
Love this center! I have heard many horror stories from friends donating at other facilities, but have never had an issue here. Staff is funny, friendly and professional. Some days can get a bit busy, but Wausau is a bigger city what do you expect? So many good things to say about this center!
Staff is great! Yes, some days they are backed up and wait times are longer but they are doing what they can to try and get everyone in and out.
Staff is always kind, love the upbeat and friendly atmosphere. You can tell they enjoy their job. They always make me feel well taken care of. Thank you for all the work you do!
Employees are good. On the other hand, due to having ptsd I can not donate without doctors' approval beyond speechless. That's why veterans do not disclose info, because heaven for bid ptsd can be passed on to others through blood. Also, most of us with PTSD do not need meds, so it's not like our blood is tainted with meds.
I've wasted too much of my time trying to donate here. I've scheduled two different appointments and was turned away at the door because my I was too warm. This time I had a 1 p.m. appointment and wasn't seen until almost 1:45 only to be told that I couldn't donate yet again because my blood pressure was slightly high. Its probably because I was sitting there getting more and more annoyed as they waste my time.
Nice staff. However they don't change their gloves very often which is kind of disgusting in my opinion. Hours aren't ideal for me as I work 630am-7 pm so its hard for me to make appointments.
I haven't donated in 20 years. When I did it was at a center in Muncie Indiana. My experience with the Wausau location hasn't been great. I scheduled an appointment but was Informed I can't donate at this location in Wausau because despite I haven't donated in approximately 20 years at the other location I mentioned until I am deactivated. So they tell me they will handle it. This was 8/25. I hear nothing from BioLife so last Wednesday I called them to check on the status of that situation. The lady on the
Friendly staff (Katie is great)! Love donating to get extra spending money and bonuses are a plus. Some days are busier than others hff ers and have a little wait, but still worth my time.
Everyone is so friendly. My personal fear of needles and how I ask each tech to let me know when they insert the needle is great - they are fantastic at what they do. All that I have been in contact with have always had a conversation with me - if you can get past the fear of needles, please help to save a life with your plasma donation.
It's always painless. They make my visits go quickly and without making getting poked uncomfortable.
Everyone is always so happy and have a positive attitude. It's assuring to see they all follow the rules. Their kindness makes the time away from the office more worthwhile.
I've had very nice and helpful employee's every time I've been to my appointments. Everyone here makes BioLife a nice place to come too. I've also met and made a few new friends.
Needs more staff badly. Was here for over 2 hours and had an overflow of people. Way too long of wait times; haven't had that long at any other Biolifes
If I could give a negative I would. I have been here multiple times however being accused of lying and then having your employees look through my stuff - is unacceptable- and the picture that they were referring to - to me not having my tattoo was from 2017 - if you need a time stamp for that- forget it- you ruined my trust and your nurses were rude to me the entire time I was there. Just the worst
UPDATE on my last review. Over the course of the last year, this site has gone down hill from very unfriendly staff, staff complaining of their management and super slow service. NOW I know that a pandemic and lack of staff has effects on all that is listed above, however, 3 hour donation times are not effective for donors especially when we know it takes roughly 1 hour 10 minutes average. Maybe management needs to re-evaluate their system they have set in place at a corporate level and only allot what thei
I would give my visit a 5 star rate, but overall experience a 4star since the delay in being able to donate & the long process of the 1st appointment. I went in to try to donate & was told to register first (the lady at reception walked me to the machine & walked me thru that process) then when they heard I had donated at the Stevens Point location (even though it was MANY years ago) they said they would have to ask for my file to be transferred & they would call me once it had to schedule an appointment. A
There are quite a few negative reviews on here but honestly I was there for the first time last night and these negative reviews only created unnecessary anxiety reading them before I went. I was treated with respect and care and was informed about everything they were doing and what my plasma was being used for. Don't let the negative reviews scare you into not going. Its an easy process and everyone was upbeat and cheery and made sure I was ok through out the whole process despite the busy evening.
My last visit was very poorly handled my blood pressure was 87/65 which is not my normal. So they had me wait 5 minutes and do a recheck my blood pressure was then 158/104 which magically made me too high. They had me "see" the nurse. She didn't assess me in any way to check appropriate cuff size or anything. She stated "well I can't believe the lower one is correct so I'm going to go with the higher one." I'm over weight and she was judging based on my size which was offensive and not appropriate at all. I
I have been going here for awhile now . Love what I can do to help out others who need the plasma. All the staff at the Wausau location are very friendly and can answer any question I might have. Keep doing a Great job and keep a smile on your face it make everyone around you happy.
Always friendly and and willing to answer questions. It's nice to be greeted like a friend when you come in the door or sit in those chairs. Even when they're busy they try real hard to make it a nice experience for the people coming in.
It was s lengthy process on the first appointment and I couldn't donate the first day because they had to check a procedure that I had 12 years ago to make sure it was ok for me to donate, but if it were my family receiving a that plasma product, I would want to know that it is safe for them. I would rather have them be sure it is safe for me and the recipient of the product. Every one was nice. Now that I have been cleared it only takes an hour.
I've been a long time donor since they first came into Wausau and previous to that Stevens Point. I read the reviews and want to encourage any new people that 99.9% percent of the time, things run without any problems. On occasion problems arise, and I have seen the staff handle things with the donor's safety in mind or asking for assistance if needed. I won't lie about it, yes I ran into issues myself, and received deferrals. I know the deferrals are given with my safety mind. I have also received ph
I came in to ask a simple question. I was waiting at the front desk for someone to come talk to me. So many poeple saw me waiting there and just stood there. When someone FINALLY came to help me, he brought over a lady and she said very rudely, "I don't think I understand your question". I explained it to her, not only did she give me an answer, but she was continuously rude. Even though I live closer to the Wausau location, I will continue going to the Stevens Point location where I'm not treated with such
Wausau BioLife is a very clean and friendly place to donate twice a week. it is a good feel that when you walk in the door Katie greets you by name. i have never had a bad experience there and have referred others to donate there at well.
I did not have any problems with Biolife in Wausau. Yes it was a long process before actually getting to donate, but I understand why. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I was a bit nervous about leaving my 3 children in the playroom, but the lady seemed friendly and professional.
The Rib Mountain Drive BioLife team is friendly, efficient and very thorough in work flow. They make it very easy to donate!
Got thru three donations just fine then was put on a hold so that ruined my promo. Talked to management they gave me new promos then put on another hold after three more donations now im on another hold for undisclosed reason i was told and i could come back at a later time. Its not about the promotions or anything like that i do not like driving 45 minutes to an appointment when i get there im told i cant donate. Three times now this happened. Bio life also replied to my review. I left you my number a
If I could give this a zero review I would. I had a promotion sent via email. This promotion was not 100% clear as to if I needed to donate twice or once to receive it. When I was at my appointment I asked if it was once or twice. I was told once for this week and all future weeks twice. When I received my compensation it was not what the promo advertised. I contacted BioLife through an online form and had a few emails back and forth explaining the situation. The guy said that it needed to be two don
The person who set me up was very kind and friendly. I had not experienced any issues with my previous visit.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
