I've given 33 times at CSL. I'm usually very polite and in a good mood and usually leave feeling fine and happy to see some of my favorite workers. My last give was a disaster. The phlebotomist was rude, didn't listen to my input and had to readjust my needle multiple times and allowed the machine to alarm 26 times. After my hand turned purple, they finally let up in the pressure. I asked a few questions about why this was going so poorly today and they said ? you have bad veins!? Ok, well, I've just no
Absolutely amazing! Came from another CSL center when I moved from out of state this week, huge center, NO wait... Friendly staff... And a HUGE SHOUT-OUT to Annetta!!! Probably one of the best/cleanest sticks I've EVER experienced out of 90+ donations... Like a dang laser beam I didn't even know I got poked lol. 5 STARS!!! Happy this is my new center!
I've been here 5 times. 2 out of the 5 times they called me back along with a couple of other donors. I was 1st in line, but they chose to take care of the others 1st, and they weren't new donors. After this donation, I don't think I'm coming back.
This place used to be great but since they moved to the new machines it keeps getting worse. Sometimes they only have 10 beds working. After 4 they sometimes only have 2 people on the floor. It takes 90-120+ minutes now. The last few times I have left after 30 because I knew it would take me at least one more hour to get stuck.
I would search around for the center paying the highest for new donors it's not really worth the wait if your under 150 lbs and driving into Champaign to donate you get $90 not $100 first donation I guess weight matters not you being the person supplying the product they need to stay open return donors appear to be druggies for going rates of $40 & $60
Giving three stars because my first time donating went fantastic- easy process, well explained, got me through efficiently, painless stick, and a brief donation process. No troubles. The second attempt at a donation was a bit of a nightmare. Bad stick, bad flow. They went fishing. The pain almost made me pass out. I stopped the donation early. The phlebotomist who stuck me blamed me for having 'small veins'. Now more than a week later I have sizable patches of dark bruising up and down my arm. It has been
I wish I could give negative stars. After going there as a new donor, going through all the video watching, physical, getting vitals done and actually donating plasma, I didn't get a penny. The manager stated that her handheld had a glitch and unfortunately, I wouldn't be paid until Tuesday or possibly Wednesday. Mind you, I donated on a Saturday. Totally unprofessional and made me feel like a fool.
I wouldn't say it's the absolute worst experience, but it definitely wasn't the best. The check-in process can be a short while or lengthy period. Plus, the people who stick the needle can be rough or temperamental.
I have been donating for several years now, and I must say that, the service has improved 100 %. They have always had a pleasant staff. I really feel like I'm around family there, and I know I'm well taken care of. All of the employees are warm and friendly, and the skills of the donor floor workers have improved as well. I don't have to be too particular about who tends to me. The money is tax free and all it cost me is a little time.
Tony is a great needle sticker don't feel a thing at all. He very nice guy he makes sure the lines get down and make sure people get seated quickly????. Gotta give that man his flowers ??.
Bad experience; I went there today as a first time donor, and I had to wait an extremely long time, to be checked in (3 hours). The girl that checked me in had to enter all my info, into some computer system. Fast forward, and some other girl came and asked me the same questions. She asked me multiple times if my house was a house?? Like she didn't believe or something. She had to get someone ele to look at everything. Clearly nobody here knows what they are doing. Do not go here. Go to Grifols instead. You
Everyone is always so nice, friendly , and helpful. Tom always makes me laugh, and Ashanti is so gentle, I don't even notice there's a needle in my arm!!
Trash! Tried to give them a second chance but they proved why nobody should & why they can never keep an employees/clients. The managers are horrible and so are the new hires. Autumn, Davon (or Devonte) & Mabel Need to be fired ASAP! They talk to people however they feel like it and don't even know their own policies. He also sent a threat saying, ?you don't know who I am and what I'll do to you?. SMH. Please don't go here! Go to Grifols instead. They pay better and treat people like actual humans
This facility is extremely slow with their paperwork and forget about getting a call back.. Just when I thought operations were shaping up, all that had to do was say something good about them. I was deferred because of reactive sample. Not a big deal, I've been to my primary and verified that I don't have anything going on. However, I've now been deferred for a month! Granted, Easter fell within that month, the plasma center was open on Good Friday. Also, this isn't my first go around with this situation.
This center in particular has mouthy staff. the lines get so long im convinced they do it on purpose having only 1 person doing physicals. The worst part is they keep changing their hours. CONSTANTLY. same with the payouts. every centers payout is different. i was getting paid significantly more at the hazel crest location.
Just wanting to let donors and potential new donors that this place has knowledgeable staff members. The one I find outstanding in his job performance is Devote. He definitely knows what he's doing and is a great asset to your company. If your worried about becoming a donor I recommend to go see him at csl on kirby.
Would love to give the CSL Plasma center a great 5 star review, because I love the staff that I run into when donating here; however, my gripe is the wait times. Not to say the center doesn't run efficiently, but the center is short staffed in comparison to some others I have been to. I deliver they choose staff that can handle the job and work as professionals, but there must be a bit of crossover with having more staff???????. Maybe one day there will be a center full of people? I encourage everyone who
This is my 2nd review in 2 years that I've been donating at CSL Champaign. LOTS of staff changes since my last review, but I still love the place! This is a huge shout-out to Tony, manager trainee from Detroit. Tony has been here for a few months now and twice a week when I go in to donate, the first thing I do is look to see if he's there. Not only is he very good at making the needle stick, he's just so pleasant. Tony makes an effort to be polite, say hello, remembers past conversations & follows up with
They offer raffle tickets in exchange for Google reviews, which is super unethical. Also, the payment is decreasing in July, but wait-times are skyrocketing. The staff are great but there are never enough phlebotomists working. Best bet is to take advantage of new-donor bonuses and then forget about this place.
Either the equipment they use is shoddy or 80% of the techs in back don't know what they are doing. I've been donating here since May 2023, and the past 5 visits I have left with massive bruises on whichever arm used. I was denied the full new donor bonus due to them bruising me on my 3rd visit and not being able to go back for two weeks. I changed my diet and drink plenty of water to make the process smoother and they still can't take my blood without inserting the needle wrong. My last visit I was hooked
I've been coming here for a couple of months and I've never regretted it. All of the sticks have been clean, no problems at all. Sometimes I barely even feel anything. The hydration station is always a plus too! The longest I've been here is on my first time. Every other time I'm not even there an hour and a half, from entry to exit. Before coming here I used to go to grifols (the talecris on mattis) because it's close to me and because before moving to Illinois I'd go to a grifols location. I am not jok
First setting foot into csl, I was immediately greeted with smiles from a couple of employees. Csl employees worked quickly and safety conscience. They all have such great attitudes. I will be coming back again. I really love how once Im in the building it is only short period of time until I'm done giving plasma and out of the building.
The people are really nice here and talented. However, it is always SO SLOW. Today I was the only person in line for screening and donation and I waited over 45 minutes to even start giving the plasma. Then it takes an hour to give which is fine but there's no reason I should be standing and waiting in a chair for over 45 minutes. This has happened to me multiple times here unfortunately. And the room is pretty cold so I'm just shivering the entire time
CSL is a great place to donate tonyo always makes the donation process go smooth and is always smiling.i have noticed most the staff is always smiling when he's on the floor!
I've been coming here for a while now but lately when I've come in during late afternoon around 4-5pm the facility seems super short staffed and I wait for a long time. I will leave if I know I'll probably be waiting over 30 minutes just to get checked in and If I have other things to do during my evening. However, I do love the staff here and if I must say Supervisor Cindy is super sweet , does her job and performs a venipuncture very well! (I can say this with full confidence as a fellow phlebotomist!)
Every time I've come, I've been treated kindly and the staff has always made sure I was doing fine throughout my donation. Thank you all so very much!!
I have been donating for more than 2 years here. Yes, there have been staffing issues in the past, but that is not unlike any other business in town. Now staffing has increased and that puts a smile on my face. Still best place to donate in town!
I came here as a new donor and I'm at my fourth donation now. Since the first visit all the employees have been helpful and very friendly. I was very surprised by the service they provide. Sometimes depending on the time you come it can be very busy but that's to be expected. I also get paid the exact amount they say and right after every donation.
Best atmosphere of all the centers in town. Friendly proficient staff. Good pay. I even won a drawing I didn't know I entered. If you're gonna donate plasma in CU, this is the spot.
Rarely a dr on duty & was shown they took more than agreed on causing adverse medical reactions. Would NOT recommend.
Center only have 17 available machines with 30 people in the lobby waiting. On top of that this center doesn't have but 6 people scheduled to work on a day the
The staff was PHENOMINAL! I really enjoyed my visit. I was leary about giving plasma there at first, but the staff members calmed me down, and I understood the process much better, and although there was a tiny bit of pain, and lots of "reflection" time (45 mins to an hour -- have donated twice now), everything turned out well. Kudos to Champaign CSL Plasma and staff!
I have donated at other facilities in Champaign and came to realize CSL Plasma is the best place to go to. From the Intake staff, Management, to the staff in the back, they care and understand if someone is nervous to donate. They take their time and try to ensure the best donation. It is important to me to go to a place with professional staff who can also make the atmosphere enjoyable during my donation.
The center has gotten better as far as speed, and the workers are very friendly! Recently I have been having issues regarding payments, but otherwise I have been impressed with the customer service and general experience! (Kameron)
Employees are dancing, singing, yelling etc while patients are being helped. This is the most unprofessional medical facility I have ever seen. You may think that the ?manager? does not know. SHE is part of it. She leads it. I will update this review when I find her name. She is tall, light brown skin, and curly haired. Shame.
CSL plasma is by for the best plasma donation center out of the three in Champaign urbana. I have been to all three In the past couple years and I give this plasma center a very high recommendation. With your first experience it will take just a little but longer but it is still the quickest in town! Staff is super friendly fast, and efficient!
They changed the morning staff to a bunch of younger folks and that will be the reason i will not be coming back. Not all but a few select are very unprofessional and my cousin had to get getting re stuck in her arm and had to go to the doctor because it messed her arm up. There is also a lady with glasses in there who is very loud and rude. Its best to keep professional staff in there to keep daily donors
Lies lies and more lies these people will be like your high school gf nice to you till they get the chance to screw you over and that's exactly what they do have never delt with a less professional medical facility in 47 years alive I would strongly suggest anyone looking to donate they do it at another facility like griffolds
I've given up donating at this plasma center, but if you would like to try be prepared to stand in line for at least a couple hours before your donation even begins.
There's a couple people here that are good at what they do and I look forward to seeing. However there are some here that are not and I just left for the 3rd time because it was taking too long to get checked in. They checked in the guy before me (that didn't go thru the kiosk) and left me standing there while they chatted and chatted..... and chatted. It takes way too long to get in and out. I get I'm going to be in a chair for an hour but I shouldn't have to wait another hour for some people to catch up o
Nurse bent the rules for herself but refused a simple accommodation for me. When i came in i was told i was a lapse donor so i had to redo the videos and all of my survey questions even though id already done them online, as well as my biometrics and consent form. I was not expecting that so i asked to have my pulse done first since i usually fail it so i didnt want to do an hour of work to be sent home. The nurse asked me to come back to the medical office to discuss it with her in private. She asked me
11/2023: Always understaffed, yet somehow you got managers that can easily take care of vitals or set people up on a machine. Get everyone on the donor floor from the back offices that can help out. YOUR PAPERWORK AND EGO CAN WAIT. One person on vitals for a line of 12 donors. People have lives and you're creating a mess of it all. I take back my review of this being a nice place to donate from my first night. Towards the end of my 2nd night here, one of the young men that sticks people pulls out his Vape
I honestly think they have the best phlebotomist the folks that stick you but due to me referring my son and not getting the bonus because of the stupid app that they know nothing about there selves. I will not be returning until my bonus is paid. Seriously they shouldn't have the app if they don't know how to run it.
I'm a new donor so I knew it wasn't gonna be quick, but I'm the only person out here and have literally been waiting in the lobby for three hours and still haven't even had my physical. Only come here if you don't have anything planned for the day. The people are nice and I'm sure they're understaffed but by the time I leave I'll have been here AT LEAST 5 hours.
Have been donating for a few months now, it's been a great way to earn some extra cash. The Staff is always friendly, they keep the process quick and easy and are good about answering any questions that arise.
Such an amazing experience here as a first time donor, staff is so kind and thoughtful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would :)
Spent three hours waiting, answering the same questions over again to multiple people, and watching donor videos before someone told me I didnt have all the paperwork I needed. I guess if you have time to waste give it a shot, but don't expect too much professionalism.
Tuesday and Thursday hours are until 3:00pm which is not ideal But the staff and the environment overall is MUCH BETTER than other places! The check in process is quick and easy and they treat people like they care about them!
The staff is fast and friendly. The only thing I would change is seats while waiting to check in and waiting on a bed.
Really nice friendly staff!!Always a good friendly atmosphere. Just want to give an update, the staff here are still very friendly and nice! Never have any problem when I go in here!
It's always so clean and employees are so pleasant and professional Particularly love Tony ....wish he was staying for good!
I contacted them and told that the order for vitals should be weighting , pressure and then temperature and blood for plasma and protein. That would save them lots of money. Other than that everything is fine. Maybe just IR to find the veins.
I've donated at multiple places in my life and CSL in Champaign is the best. It's more professional, they do a better job at sticking on the first try, and it's quicker/more efficient.
Staff is friendly and Welcoming. The Bathrooms are always clean and nice. The snacks and drinks they provide are greatly appreciated.
My experience going to CSL plasma is so very good the people that work there is the most nicest an people there are so kind .when I donate I just love how they make you feel so comfortable I think everyone should come to CSL.????
Was going to celebrate Thanksgiving by donating plasma but too bad they were closed.
The beginning process is long but after that it is super quick and easy check in. The employees are always so nice and funny. Would definitely recommend.
I've donated plasma at a lot of centers before but the wait times at this one are the longest of anywhere I've been. They only use two of six bays and even during slow times it takes over an hour to get into the donation bed
I see why this place has negative reviews. They essentially stabbed both of my arms and fished around before eventually giving up. At least they compensated me but good god they are bad sticks.
Coming to CSL to donate for my first time was nerve racking but Tony was efficient and helpful!
honestly horrible if you have been donating for awhile you know how much this place has changed very ghetto n they cut the money they give you for donating management is very rude too workers n donors n if you have a reaction lord forbid cause no one will pay attention.
They are friendly when you walk in. Answer your questions. Several qualified individuals.
This CSL plasma goes hard. Ric, montel, Charles, and a Buncha other employees I can't remember of the top of my head are very good at their jobs. Would donate again??
Walked straight in and felt welcomed by all staff members! They know their job from reception to the Bay area's! Thanks for all that you do CSL Plasma!
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
