CSL Plasma Columbia, SC

I absolutely love the staff at CSL Plasma! They're quick, efficient, and incredibly personable, always greeting me by name as a regular, which makes every visit feel welcoming. This is hands-down the best plasma donation center I've been to, they really know what they're doing! I had a nightmare visit at a CSL facility back in Phoenix, Arizona..... They actually sent me to the ER. So finding a good donation center, was paramount! My only suggestion for improvement would be better cleanliness in the bathroom

Let me just start off by saying ?. DO NOT GO HERE ! I have plenty to say about this place ! For one the staff here is NOT PROPERLY TRAINED ! I have about 5 years under my belt being a certified phlebotomist, working in plasma industry and in medical clinics. I also have about 7 years experience of being a plasma donor! Decker location is just so rough and the wait is SO long that I really didn't want to have to go through all that today. So I decided to try Assembly. I read so many horror stories from previous reviews and it made me even more nervous. The ladies in the front took their time explaining every detail there was. The new Rika devices are really nice & a lot faster than the previous PCS machines. The staff is always super friendly & I feel very comfortable every time I come here to donate plasma! Every staff member I have met is very professional & the whole environment is kept very clean & organized! :)

It is a very nice place to donate, the staff is very friendly and the few that helped me were very careful and attentive. I know it's a stretch but maybe a place were family could wait. Other than that, I will keep coming back to these location, and I am very relax to come here.

Generally staff are professional and pleasant to interact with. You never know how long you will spend each visit. Anywhere from 1.5-3hrs.

I love the customer service at 215 they treat you like family they greet you with a beautiful smile and the management team is a wonderful team always checking to make sure the donors are safe and secured with us being on the Rika machine the new Rika machines Are a ten fast safe and sufficient!!!! I actually liked donating for CSL but now, not only they discontinued the Irewards they also now give you less money. It was 42$ for me for the 1st donation now it's 40$. For the second donation I got 60$ and now it's 45$. It's not worth the money anymore to drive there for 25 min back and forward and be there for like 1hr with check in and donation. They make so much money from us doners and pay so less it's sad.

Staff was super kind and patient with all donors. Highly recommend to everyone who is interested in donating.

Update (2/2025): For every step forward, 2 steps back. Never enough people on the floor working to hook up or unhook. I've noticed such a closer unhook process nowadays bc you have only one person and one person can only unhook so fast. I would appreciate them unhook to get people out then go back and setup the machines but they don't do that. And so much chatter. Gabbing, talking, gossiping, discussing?.. Long lines but that's normal. Ive never had any problems with donations or pay.

My dad recommended this place to me for some extra money, so I thought, why not? I helped him get his referral bonus and earned a few dollars myself. Initially, everything was fine during my first couple of visits?no complaints. But over time, things took a turn for the worse. There was this one incident where a lady missed my vein and inserted the needle so forcefully that it became painful, forcing me to leave early. this place is absolutely horrible. they mess things up and it makes you have to wait months to donate again. god forbid you have to see the nurse you'll be waiting for hours.

Fast and efficient. Made first donor experience very pleasant.

First two donations went great! But they gave me a sheet originally saying that my first three donations would be $100 each and after the second one they only gave me $50 and when i confronted them about it they refused to help me and honor what they told me originally. Absolutely ridiculous.

I am a Platinum Donor and I must say, there have been drastic improvements in their operations lately. They have increased staff, changed procedures and have oversight on the donation floor. I feel they are really trying to be more efficient!! Love the friendly staff too!

If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. The security guard and front desk personnel are very unprofessional and SELECTIVE about who the rules apply to at this location. It's absolutely unacceptable, I understand that there are rules and regulations but handle it professionally and fairly.

Employees are very rude and mean would not recommend going to this place. The head receptionist is completely rude to customers coming in. Not to mention they are withholding payment for over a week. Otcapharma is a 1000 times better and more courteous.

This place is a joke. They don't take thing seriously and their not committed to doing they're work they still need to be overlooked. The staff and management really needs to have a sit down to see what they can do to improve wait times, efficiency and how to manage their time properly while working. I just wasted over 5 hours of my day, 2+ hour round trip, for the last step in a 3 hour wait/screening process was to check my veins?? In the morning they short of staff in the morning they lady with the long braids nasty attitude. I came to CSL Plasma back in April this year to donate plasma for the first time and my experience was good but there are some things i wish were better. Some issues I had: 1.) I knew since it was my first time there that it would take longer than usual but what I did not expect was for the entire experience to take 4 hours total. 2.) The skill of the phlebotomists is unacceptable. They are clearly less trained than they used to be. It used to hurt every once and a while; now it is truly painful from start to finish, (and I am sure it is due to skill level, since I had a nonpainful stick recently when stuck by a supervisor). Also, I have a bruise caused by the phlebotomist who last stuck me (I never bruised before, not once in the 2 or 3 years I donated prior to the pandemic). Today my experience was a great one. Everyone who attended to me were very patient and professional. My entire process was swift and easy. Plus they have excellent WiFi here too. The compensation is great too if you are looking for some pocket change. Highly recommended above all.

If I could give this place less than a 1 I would. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple of really nice and professional people who work here, but for the most part it is very poorly ran. The wait times are exceptionally long because the staff spends a lot of time goofing off. Especially at the front counter. I hardly ever write a review online but I'm fuming and want to rage into the ether. ive just waited 2 hours to get a needle in my arm to start the 1 hour process of donating. 4th time this has happened all 4 times same team members. Lady with the Mohawks team, moves at half of the speed of smell and that's generous. If I see her on shift when I go from now on I'm leaving immediately.

Takes over an hour to even get hooked up then they don't even go by first come first serve just whoever they feel like. If octa pharma wasn't less money I'd definitely recommend them over CSL.

I've been coming for about a year now and will continue to. Taylor and Cristyl up front are the absolute best and always manage to zoom me through while still be conversational and nice. I'm not on a first name basis with everyone but for the most post everyone has been lovely. The biggest issue is them being really busy at times so there might be a wait BUT it's important to remember that it's not their fault ??

I've been donating at CSL since I was 20 years old, for the past 13 years. I've seen so many positive changes over the years, but one constant has been the amazing staff. I adore Mrs. Monica, Judy and Rodger and I've never had a bad experience. Amazing folks and an amazing opportunity to save lives too.

This place is really unorganized and the people in the back are not friendly. They are really rough with the needles. This is my arm 2 days after donating. They moved the needle around so much.

Staff at this location is friendly & helpful. Everyone always has a smile on there face. The process is quick & painless- although, your first visit will take anywhere from 3- 5 hours to complete.after that usually I'm in & out with in 1-1.5 hrs.

Check in staff is extremely rude. Staff in the donation area is careless. The individuals in the donation area do not change their gloves or wipe the beds and equipment when needed. Nasty Nasty Nasty.

I've been coming here for a while now and they seem to keep getting faster and more efficient with getting donors in and out. They've also been friendly and have done a good job of keeping the place clean and sanitized. It's a pretty good amount of extra money for the few hours a week I spend here. I'd recommend it if you want to make some extra income and help others who need plasma at the same time.

Every once and a while there is a wait. But usually I'm in and out pretty quick. I've never had an issue with the staff. I think his name is Lewis. And I thing he's new. But fully competent, had me stuck before I even knew he had the needle ready. Great jobs guys. Kudos Lewis.

Stick with what you know. Haven't had too many problems beside ignorance on different angles. Not sure how the instructions are taught, but only a couple seem to be able to stick at varied angles. I have great veins, but am a side stick. Was told it was my flow, when it was truly the fact that I was stuck too low...period. Was a whole fiasco, but I will not drag on. Me and my husband have been coming since covid started and they needed the covid anti-bodies. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences everytime we have come here. The staff has been extremely friendly and if there ever was an issue to arise they have gone above and beyond to make sure it's handle for us. I feel comfortable and welcomed coming here and glad I chose to donate!, especially that I came to this location to do so the staff here really does make it that much better ??

Well I go regularly. I do think the staff is very friendly with some people who could use help with that. The staff who check you before you sit down often make you wait because they are busy talking about private stuff. The line usually is very long . When u get through it usually takes a very long time like 1 hr to 2 hrs before you get to begin donating. But mostly happy about the place. Just wished they would work faster. But if u go make sure u have time.

The very ethical front nurse of course tells me goes through here for the exam area I think it was that area and the other nurse tells me you used the cell phone to fill the paper I told him that if I did not understand the word Should. Not enough staff. Most of the time there's only 1 or 2 screeners so the wait time before you even get to the back could be 30mins or more. The screener I had the other day was on her phone while screening me claiming it was her supervisor but said I love you at the end of the call. I stopped coming here because they changed their hours without any notice due to being ?short staffed?. Maybe if they had a better work environment, that wouldn't be an issue. Either way, their started closing before I could get off work so I started going to Octapharma. Octapharma not only pays better but there's a better atmosphere there too.
