CSL Plasma Glen Burnie, MD

Clean, well maintained, and equally well staffed. Not 5 stars due to lack of information on how to get paid and could've been marginally better managed when I went. They should REALLY tell you the envelope they give you contains the card where you get your money from, I thought it was more whatever info about donating plasma.

This is my 1st time donating and at this location. I really feel welcome and the staff are genuinely kind, generous, and go above and beyond for the guests. Even would go as far as drop everything the they are doing just to attend to you. I would highly recommend anyone to come to this center just to get this special treatment. Keep up the good work! ??

I've been donating here for one year without incident and have always had a pleasant experience. But my last donation I got jabbed by a newbie and something went wrong -- I started gushing blood, they quickly wrapped me up and switched arms and the donation went fine. But I developed a massive bruise on the original area. And so on my next visit I was turned away. I've been donating here since 2019 and only took a break for my 2021 pregnancy. This is a great location. The new machines and the staff are the best I've worked with so far. Tanika was my most recent phlebotomist and she was very kind, professional, and helpful!

The facility is not open right now and it should be. Traveling from East Baltimore to Glen Burnie just to see a note saying they are closed due to being short staffed. This is the fifth time since I've been donating for a little over a year that the schedules have changed or days that they are open has changed-- ALL without notice. Whoever is running this establishment has a serious disregard for people in need and is constantly understaffed at this location. This is highly unprofessional and inconvenient.

I used to donate at CSL Plasma in 2018 and recently started donating again. The whole process from beginning to end has improved so much. The long lines and hours of waiting is no longer. It's a quick easy way to earn some extra income and help others needing plasma products at the same time.

It's clean and sanitary, the problem is the wait is out of control. Also unless you say hi and force the niceness they are not very friendly. There are a couple people that are OK but the rest, I'm just going to say, maybe they need customer service training and evaluation. Also if something happens like computer system or waiting on 1 person to show so you can open at least inform your donors, but not there. They left everyone just hanging without coming outside and letting anyone know what was going on. W

It's Friday December 20th 2024 as I write this update. The entire team is terrible. They get away with it because people need the money. If the location closer to my house answered the phone I would go there instead. The problems here are plenty if you've ever been. Barely open up on time. Mostly they open up an hour to 2 hours late. minimal staff about 80% of the time meaning longer wait times inside and out. The center was supposed to open at 7am it's now 9:30am and they are still closed, waiting for people to come in. This happens wayyy too often

I've been a CSL donor for a LONG time and have had good and NOT-SO-GOOD experiences, but Tamara is one of the FEW that makes it truly painless and a pleasure to donate. Thanks Tamara!

Why they keep changing hours? 1 week they close at 730 now they close at 6 then they'll probably start closing at 5 like dang that's lazy

Understaffed, rude employees, and I don't think the employees should get to cut the line just because they work there. I too, have to do this on my time off. UPDATE: They now make you wait until a whole row of people are done to disconnect you from the machines. Two workers for 20 beds is not acceptable. And they're attitudes have gotten worse. Their answer to things today was, "I don't know, I just work here".

Apparently Corporate or someone up high went in CSL Glen Burnie and cleaned house. They cleaned it so well that about 20 of us were there before 7am opening (10/27/24) just to be told at 9am that they weren't opening, that they didn't have a phlebotomist. Started donating plasma after being referred by a good friend of mine in the area. After successfully being able to voluntarily donate my plasma to help others in need of plasma to help save lives even as a voluntary donor and trusting the Phlebotomist at CSL on July 11, 2024 I can no longer trust Lorren the Sr. Phlebotomist due to unfortunately, incorrectly placing the needle into my vein during my 5th donation. This will be my second review on behalf of another donor. On today (September 23, 2024) at least 5 donors were turned away after having waited since at least 6:20, because the manager said that whoever is not in a bed by the closing time will be sent away. Sure enough, they were sent off with a $5 coupon for their NEXT donation. Again, people don't come here for fun or for a free donation. People need these small sums of money to make big differences in their financial situations and it's like you guys just

This place has been consistent for me for the most part. As long as you hydrate at least starting 24 hours in advance, don't eat fatty food (if it drips, your blood won't), maybe take an aspirin a couple hours in advance, and have a nice protein filled meal 2 hours or so before hand and you'll be okay. New donor bonuses are nice and usually consider you a new donor again if you have lapses of several months. If you lose a lot of weight (think 45+) from last time you'll 99% sure need a new physical lol. So

Had good experiences with other CSL plasmas, some of them here sticked me and it was fine and fast. Some however stick me and it take 90 minutes. Most recent occasion they didn't do it right and their management differed me for 6 months saying I had weak veins. Never had this problem before coming here

Too small cuffs equals incorrect pulse reading. I have wasted 4 days out of week coming back to back to this donation center just to be told to go home because my pulse is too high which has never been the case. I've been coming here for over a year and the staff here treats you like your a drug addict. They defer you for any reason they find. They'll make you sit and wait for no reason. I have a big dog and occasionally I get scratched or a small bruise and this has supposedly been noted but it still keeps happening. I'm a regular donor of the CSL in Glen Burnie. Today was my last journey to that store... I left after an hour of waiting. They didn't take a single person didn't answer a single question and treated everyone like they were cattle. this was supposed to be my 20th donation and I was quite excited about it! The women that run that CSL think of themselves as nurses if you read this, just know your lower than a phlebotomist. The new sign in system confounds me. I used to be able to walk up and answer questions on a kiosk and go wait in line for vitals. Love this center except for one of the employees has a bad attitude with staff and patients she has on numerous times ignored me and others. She stuck me one time and blow my vain and ever since then she has had an attitude towards me. Today she was calling people back and got rude with the gut in front and walked right by me and let me sit there until someone else came over to get me started.

The staff has become very helpful and energized and it feels like a new place. The waits can still be long but the turn around in the way the staff is treating me has been very welcome and completely changed the experience. Edit: Do not come here in the morning. I am a Platinum Donor. I've been going for two year's. I'm not going to lie it's been good experiences with csl and bad experiences. I'm talking about Northern Parkway, Halethorpe, and Glen Burnie. Some staff is nice, some are rude, most talk behind your back and some spread rumors about you. When I go I ask them to turn down the pull on my iv and it's like I'm asking them to pull out there own nails.

I go to the location in Glen Burnie, Maryland and everyone is really nice. Sometimes you have a wait to get vitals done, but that is because they are busy. Otherwise I am usually there just a little over an hour. I would highly recommend this location

From my first 4 visits it's obvious that you are at the mercy of whether competent staff decided to work the day of your visit. Only two employees have valued my time. The last visit they locked the door early but let me in and thankfully and then they paid me to leave because ?it would be awhile to get stuck?, that was of course after the 30 minute wait for a vital check. I'm not terribly impressed but not terribly turned off ?.. yet?getting back to the donation section seems to be the real struggle.

So... its my first time going here and some of the staff was rude. The lady told me to stand in line there was no line, nobody was there so I went to the donor floor just for them ask me did I get my physical. I said no, so they redirected me to sit by the physical room. Then the lady rudely asked why was I sitting there. I said the phlembolist told me to wait here. Like don't get mad because your instructions were not clear. Debating whether to come back or not

No matter what time of the day (morning, mid-day, afternoon) literally ANY TIME you call this particular center NO ONE answers the phone! The phone keeps Ringing & ringing & ringing (at around the 50th ring) the call is automatically DISCONNECTED!!!

Friendly staff, quick process. Few times technical issues appear with system or computers but manager tries her best to solve promptly. This location pays better than others nearby. I am a happy donor. :) recommended

My experience at CSL has been good.I've always been greeted with a friendly welcome by Nelly every since I met her.She's always got a smile on her face.She works hard and always helps out.

Posted hours state the bus8ness opens at 8am Mon-Fri, I arrived at 8:41am and they aren't open yet. There's a half dozen potential donors waiting outside in the cold. This is unacceptable. I sincerely want to donate as I want to make a difference and try to help but my time is not being valued

Runs more efficiently with new leadership.

No complaints. Yes, wait times can vary widely, but if your time is valuable enough you can find better ways. Staff is fairly friendly for the most part. Some are aloof, some very engaging. Never had anyone rude to me. The only thing I can gripe about are the other clientele, you get some riff-raff here as you might expect. Some like to be loud, play music/shows out loud on their phone, and generally moan and complain about things in line.

Be prepared to spend at least 3 hrs in here if you go. They're super short staffed everything takes for ever to get done.

This place is TRASH!!! While there are a few good workers at this location, the BAD ones ruin the entire establishment... the managers are non-existent and refuse to do ANY type of managerial duties! Everybody nice, easy to talk to and communicate, wait time vary depending on how busy. I've been coming here for a couple years now and Ive never had and problems or issues with any of the staff, they all treat me with a good welcome and they always thank me for donating before I live.

They never truthful about your payouts rewards or bonuses

I've been going for a while and a few months ago they started a rule that u could not request who sets u up. We'll because of the hours I go in always end up with the worst. Dee would set me up and it was always a problem and then when I would look around at others she set up they were having problems also. Apparently some of the employees at CSL need to be retrained. They handout misinformation like it's nobody's business! Also, there's no accountability there; where is the management?! CSL needs to tighten up! We're not lab rats, we're humans and some of us recognize professionalism when we see it.

This facility is good and keeps you wanting to come back. The staff are highly qualified. They make small conversations with you even if you're a little bit shy. However, I just don't like the fact that we get paid so little compared to other centers like in PA. They use to have 40-50$ bonuses now it's only 10$ . But I'm just greatful that this is a big help between paychecks and to people who dont work at all.

I don't know what is going on here. I haven't been able to donate for 3 days now every time I try to donate they tell me that I have to sign in by paper and they don't know how long the wait time is WTH. I usually get there at 8am

I was in today as a first time donor and everyone took care of me so well! They made me feel safe and informed as to what I was getting into. The nurse who inserted my needle did a great job I barley felt a thing! I did end up becoming dizzy toward the end of my donation and someone was there to help me immediately, putting ice packs on me and helping me not pass out. Overall great experience. The staff is awesome and I am treated with curticy and respect during every visit. If I had one suggestion it eould be to figure out how to encourage the staff. The consistent workers need help, they are being over worked. No matter the pay scale, we all have lives and need to be able to afford a break.

I enjoy coming on my allowed days, most of the staff is well knowledgeable and has great people skills ( I say most because I haven't met them all) I personally don't have any complaints. I always have a smooth transition.

This will be the fourth time in the last month I have tried to get a rescreening since it had been so long since I had been there. I've been turned away each time saying they're not accepting new donors at this time. I try to call before hand so I don't waste time driving there and no one ever answers the phone. Wait times will vary if you don't time your visit just right but in most cases will be in and out in no more than 90 minutes. Staff is pleasant and very knowledgeable in their field. Plus you can earn monthly bonuses. Would recommend coming to this location if you are looking to donate plasma.

My wait time has gotten longer as I visit. I have had issues with my fingerprint, but as I progressed to the back, my wait time gets longer. Also, I have been stuck incorrectly; one young lady inserted the needle to the side of my vein, which caused my process to be much longer. I have shown up at this center twice in an attempt to donate. The first time I came straight from work and was informed it was too late to donate and I'd have to come back on a weekend.
