Unfortunately, this picture says it all. Very nice staff, but severely understaffed and obviously mismanaged. Very slow, and no chair. You can do better CSL.
PROOF of questions being completely successfully and letting me go on to the next step. The first time I came to this place in 2022 I got denied because of low iron I came back again may of 2024 and was told I wasn't in the system after I literally did a whole process in 2022. So she sat me at the video consent desk however never gave me any headphones so I started watching the video and reading the captions all the workers were starring at me but no one said anything. About 15 minutes in the videos she the
Tried to come in and donate with my wife for the first time and I have comprehension issues. That older lady with the silver curly hair told me to stop asking my wife questions that I had for my own health because she's the only one I can really understand and when I said that I got kicked out for talking and I took my wife back and made me leave how are they making it fair for new donors when they won't even let us learn about the consequences of donating and casting us out afterwards absolute terrible exp
Today would have been my third time donating. Was there a couple weeks ago and did all the new patient procedures including height measurement. Today I was told they had to check my height again and this time they measured me 1" shorter. Was told I had to see the nurse and one person was ahead of me. Already had to wait 25 minutes to get screen and it would have been at least another 30 minutes waiting for the nurse, then still donate. They did the measurements both times and the original one is what matche
I usually come here every other month. This time I told the lady it was a little too tight and my hand was obviously turning purple. I haven't donated for a month now and where the needle went in im bruised and there are red internal bleeding I can see under the skin. I have a picture but it will not let me post
Horrible went there at 8:00 AM just to try it out and the lady told me it would be the whole entire day before being seen Tabitha rude and no consideration for others bluntly pushed me off she needs to work on her customer service skills she makes it like the entire process is going to be almost 12hrs before being seen just horrible customer service
These people are racist and they never answer the phone they let it ring and ring. A friend of mine has one caught them smoking marijuana in a car and outside. Some of them don't even use gloves
I have been donating for almost two years and can't come up with any complaints. Of course at times the lines can get long but that's out of their hands. The space is super clean and the process runs smoothly. There is a great group of staff that's very nice and helpful. Sarina and gang in the back get people in the beds and out the door as fast as possible while being very thorough.
Horrible wait times not seats In waiting area have to stand for over an hour every visit no workers no urgency to make process smoother not enough machines to accommodate the volume of clients they have literally have to wait 10-20 mins to be unhooked from Machine for all these problems pay should be higher
Was just told they're reducing the payouts based on weight? it's only a couple of dollars across the board but do I need to say it louder?? THEYR?E NOT DONATING TO HELP YOUR CAUSE. THEY?RE DONATING BECAUSE THEY?RE BROKE. So they're effectively encouraging you to gain more weight to secure the highest payout that has been reduced to begin with? and don't even get me started on the poor management and lack of staff literally every single time you have the displeasure of donating with them. Way to go CSL, you
They're super slow, no one wants to work for real. They put new lights up instead of hiring more people to deal with the super long wait. Who ever is running that place needs to be fired. There should be at least 4 people in the front & of course there's always 1 or 2. Just plan to be there for almost 2hrs
I have been donating here for over 2 years now. Recently I've been having problems with the phlebotomist not being able to stick the needle in correct. Resulting in bruising, blown veins, and empty containers. Which will ultimately result in you being deferred for stuff that wasn't your fault to begin with. I realize they are understaffed, and I try to be compassionate for that. But now I feel like they are putting these people on the floor to fast, and they do not know what they are doing. How are you supp
Easy way to get a bit of quick cash. Be prepared to stand in line for a while, though, especially in the afternoon/early evening. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only way I'd improve things is by having more staff up front to speed up the screening process.
Do not recommend, I signed up a year or so ago with them knowing I have a heart implant. I have done over 60 donations. When I went to start going again after a 6 month break. The nurse decided I need to see a cardiologist for an implant I had about 20 years ago. They do not payout enough for me to see a cardiologist and have tests ran because she wants to know more information about my implant. When she was given my medical implant card that tells her all she needs to know. It was the biggest waste of tim
Last day to get my 4th 100$ within 30 days. First attempt to stick me failed. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to use a new person a trainee to try my other arm. They thought they got it and blew up my arm.
Staff for most part is awesome, always a few bad seeds, but I have been donating since 2019, they keep making it more & more difficult to donate, it's almost like jumping through hoops. Also they are never ever staff, maybe pay staff more & you could be staffed instead of us waiting hours to donate. It's getting to be to much.
I'm trying to figure out why this location is so slow. Everybody moves like snails. Always short staffed. Where is the new management? Makes no sense that there is always an hour or more wait to be seen. Someone should report this location to the BBB, they're really bad.
I am new donor at the Hobart facility. First time went well despite the 4 hour process. Second time was awful. I got there at 6 pm because i work a full-time job. Got im my chair at 7:50 pm. The tech was the same girl from the time before so i felt confident it was going to go well. The stick was painless like the time before. I am a slow donor even though i drink tons of water and eat protein before my donation. I told the tech it takes me a few minutes for me to start processing and not to rush things. Sh
The staff is really great. From Amanda in the front to Serena, Natalee and Kody in the back. I did have to wait awhile because of short staffing, but the women were very polite and even apologized for the long wait.
Used to be nice going here but the new round of staff has been super rude and snooty. Been going here since 2018 and I'm just about donating all together. After today the girl was short n rude for the sheer fact that I forgot to pay attention to the new lights.
While I went in to sign up for the first time I didn't know what to expect. I was told I'd be in there signing up for 3 hours. The registrar was neat, clean, polite and overweight. I had to answer questions regarding HIV status and Hepatitis. Then I was moved to a computer screen that further went into detail regarding HIV, Hepatitis, side effects, possible adverse reactions, damage to your veins and how they share information on you. I can understand all the safety concerns but I also weighed my own h
The worst place ever to donate. Rude staff slow as hell service. Go else where if you can be the last place I would ever donate at. Avoid biolife is way better.
If i could give no stars i would. I was there waiting for over an hour because i had a little bruise. Which i understand the rules for but i got checked by the nurse and she said i was good to go. I get into the donor line and wait another 20-30 minutes. Get to the back wait another 10 minutes for someone to start hooking me up. She checks my arms, and walks away. Didn't say nothing. Comes back with another co worker who looked at the bruise and said ?yup that's a bruise.? So they're like you need to go to
Been going to this location for quite some time I even reached platinum status at this location and was soon to be disrespected as a improperly trained Flabotamus injected the Needle into my arm and blood soon can out this has never happened in all of my 292 donations the Ricka which is the machine they use started to alarm they came by asked if I was OK I stated yes an continued the process it happened two more times After that, they move the needle 2 more times and I was in pain. After that after the next
Worst experience ever, went in there as a first time donor waited three hours did the whole check in process, i was asked about my piercings, i was honest, told her i had just gotten one done 2 1/2 weeks ago. She was still gonna let me donate and didn't tell me anything was wrong had i not been turned away cause they couldnt find a vein. NEVER SAID ANYTHING. I went back this morning wasted my time and gas for the second time only for them to tell me its a 4 month wait for any new peircings. Did yall just fo
Long wait times. Understaffed. This was my first time wanting to donate and I didn't even get to because they had me wait then play 20 questions. I was asked to verbally say my social out loud to the nurse. Do you guys not realize that is a HIPAA violation?? I'm not coming back. The inside also smells like a oversteralized hospital and it made me nervous. There were also a bunch of people waiting on both sides of the building.
The screen staff is very un- informative. They tell me one thing I go see the nurse and they say different thing. Very understaffed and sometimes rude in result of the added stress of being understaffed.
I've been donating consistently for quite a while and I've noticed more than once that Austin is awesome! He's very gentle and personable and always makes the experience a better one!
Beginning with my first plasma transaction [a little over a year ago] the staff has Always been kind, helpful and attentive even when they are swamped with donors. They carry themselves in a professional manner and the donors with respect. ??????
I called to find out about compensation for new donors. She only told me first time donation ($90 - which is les than plasma place in Merrillville) and would NOT disclose any further information "until I come in". After reading some other comments about how staff treated clients NO WAY. Go to the Merrillville place on Broadway. Whole different company and pays more.
I've been donating plasma here for more than a year. Usually it's fine, but they really need to hire more people now. The wait times are awful again. The new machines were sure to speed up the wait for customers. The actual donation time is less. But because of this, I sit and wait for them to notice that my donation cycle is complete. Today I sat for twenty minutes waiting for them to notice I was done. Then my husband next to me had to wait for a very long time, because staff decided to wrap up customers
There was only 1 person working the entire front end which I get there is going to be a long wait but my boyfriend and I waited over and hour and a half Just for them to tell us the system ?went down? and they weren't taking any more people. This was our 2nd time here and we won't ever return. This place is a complete joke.
I donated here for the first time recently. Having donated at another, unaffiliated facility numerous times in the past, I can say that the first time process is long but very thorough. They go over the process and rules in several different ways to ensure that you understand the info they're providing. It actually took me a little over 3 hours start to finish. After the screening, the donation process was straightforward. They even called me the next day to ensure I was ok. I definitely recommend and will
CSL Plasma in Hobart is one of a handful of facilities that have the Riki/Terumo plasma machines that have patrons finishing their donations in 30 minutes or less depending on the individual. Phlebotomists: Sarina, Michaela, Jocelyn, Natalie, and Trisha are all wonderful to work with. I've never encountered a problem with any of them over the 3 years donating there. They're all professional, knowledgeable, polite, and friendly towards their donors... They take care and make the plasma donation a pleasant
I'm considered a national and Legacy Donor meaning I can go to any CSL across the country, yet I keep coming to this location. Clean facility, FANTABULOUS STAFF ( Wish I knew all their names) but I call them the Super friends. From the Hard Working Patient ladies doing Vitals to the Hard Working Ladies and Gentlemen doing setups, sticks, disconnects and plasma collectors the place rocks. Oh not to mention they are one of only 15 or less centers in the country with the new faster plasma collection machines.
I'm really concerned about some of the phlebotomist lacking training when it comes to correctly inserting needles I had a needle shoved in my arm and I have very good veins you can clearly see them I don't want any of my veins blew because of incorrect or rushing I hope they get more training on how to correctly insert needles gently
The girls at CSL Plasma Hobart are always the best! They are professional, friendly, and always make me feel like I am cared for and in good hands.
I been going here for a couple years and its hectic to say the least. The employees here are nice and courteous and service is good. My only complaint is the wait time as it seems like everyone comes here as they take walk-ins. I came here 30 minutes before they opened a few times now and there was a line of at least 8 people waiting outside in the cold waiting for them to open every time. I'm seriously considering going to a center that does appointments as I heard things go a lot better there.
Always a good trip to Hobart CSL ! Sarina and staff make sure I'm good before during and after donation process! Best CSL in NWI
Let me start out by saying I work in healthcare so I tend to notice things more in this type of setting. I've been donating here for about a month and a half. Your first time donating will take about 3 hours due to the extensive questions and physical. ?This is for your safety and the plasma recipients? and since they take walk ins it may take a while. The staff has always been professional, polite and friendly. I have good veins so they don't have a problem finding it. I do sometimes have burning from the
I've always had such great experience here. I've never had any problems. The staff is always very friendly. After u have gone long enough most of them remember your name. its a quick n easy way to earn money. I recommend all my friends n family to go. I would recommend Kari, Nikki, or Nichelle to stick you. They are the best n when they stick you it never hurts. If you drink plenty of water the day before n the day of n stay away from the greasy foods n milk the day before you should flow quick. Also your i
Overly strict with rules and unfriendly staff. Attempted to make very brief small talk with in was met with condescending remarks. If you need money in a pinch it's ok otherwise it's better to save yourself the trouble.
This place is fairly nice and their staff are as nice as they have to be. The nurses are always backed up and tend to be on the ruder side. Clean place but pretty slow and always trying to persuade new donors to come back another time.
I went here yesterday for my first time ever donating plasma. I will admit I did have a little anxiety not knowing what to expect. They do a thorough exam of you so plan to have close to 3 hours to spare. However with that being said I am glad they did that because 25 to 30 mins of me donating plasma as I was still hooked up I got very lightheaded and passed out for about 3 seconds. They were very attentive as I called for one of the ladies to help me. Stephanie was great and started fanning me instantly an
This place is pretty decent, kinda long wait times as of recent but my main issue is this..what they don't tell you about the CSL card is your first transaction is fee free. So hit the atm first or you will be declined. I made the mistake of getting gas first then going to the atm with the assumption I had enough left but no, my 2nd transaction is 1.75 at the atm. So I got declined. Then googled where to go. Said Bank of America. Did that and then it charges me 1.75 plus the 3.00 and I called CSL customer c
No bad experiences. The screeners are awesome! They've been skillfull and efficient everytime I've donated. I would say the only suggestion for improvement would be to set out some water or remove the hydration station...leaving it empty makes people wonder why it's always empty
Everyone that works here is extremely polite, helpful, and genuinely concerned about your well-being. They seem to have computer issues often, but the overall atmosphere makes up for the short delays you may experience should that happen. I love going here.
Find another place, do not go here. I have gone to CSL plasma for years. This last year I took a break from going. I've recently started back up. During my experience here i had my vein blow once because of the phlebotomists that stuck me stuck in the needle way to far and pulled it out. The manager was very rude in telling me I was deferred because her staff is clearly not trained. I suggest going somewhere else the long wait lines and extremely rude staff are not worth it! A friend of mine just went in an
There will be about 20 people in line to get their vitals checked and only have 1 worker up front. That 1 worker has to deal with the new donors walking in, answer questions from people having issues with the kiosk and have to check vitals. Tonight would have been my 2nd donation but I was unable to donate because of my iron being too low. I waited for over an hour in line just to be turned away. Why not have at least 1 of the other people that know how to do vitals come up and assist with the line? There w
I've been donating here for a while and the staff is friendly and courteous. No problems except that they're extremely short staffed and they take walk ins so there will be wait times for getting seen and going through the process. Other then those, no complaints
Went there today and the receptionist was completely rude to me and unprofessional .. I said that I'm sorry to bother her and was an inconvenience to her and she didn't say another word to me and walked away..
Just went today on 1/12/24 and had a Great Experience donating plasma. Outstanding service and overall excellent staff. I recommend everyone who likes to donate please consider this place.
Staff is all wonderful. My first time donating plasma and it was easy as pie. Loved that the nurse called the next day to check on me. Definitely will continue donating. I lost my dad to covid in January so if my plasma will help people I'm all for it. Thank you CSL...
CSL is always clean and the staff is very pleasant!! Sometimes it just. Sucks how long you Have to wait!!
Good if need money but my husband always gets brushed bad from the needle input and nerve hit at times. make sure u don't have an ingrown hair on arm or u will not be seen. Prayers to you all this struggle will get better
The way they run it with new donors, why would ANYONE want to deal with that? Go to Grifols on Broadway, they'll have you done with all of your new donor stuff in 90 minutes. Forget this 5 hour stuff, which 2/3 of that time is just sitting and waiting.
The Hobart Indiana facility is a joke. The staff is very poorly trained, and has a manager who makes racial remarks towards white people. Not exactly my idea of a comforting experience. I've seen plenty of people get bruised up, and get stuck the wrong way by their staff. Really unprofessional people, with a really unprofessional attitude, in a really unprofessional environment..... If your into that kind of treatment, then you got to check this place out.
This place is the worst Csl I've ever experienced. The staff was awful and slow. They treat everyone so bad because they think people are poor and have no other option. Especially the staff member Katherine she was rude to literally everyone that entered the facility. Even going as far as hiking up wait times to defer donors. Don't donate here!
Great place Sabrina, Natalie, & Hannah are great ppl to be around when donating friendly and makes u feel comfortable as possible
Great place to Donate. Always Great Energy! Yall can put more snacks out ?? But overall 10/10
DONT WAIST YOUR TIME. This is the only place that ive been to that makes you see the nurse for every little f?ing thing!! And if the nurse isnt there your just sol, no matter how stupid and pointless it could be. Also the only place I know that defers people for a week at a time, instead of having you come back the next day. And the best part is pay is less then others around here too. May look nicer then Bio-blood, but trust me Bio-Blood pays more between your two donations per week added together and FAR
This agency is very clean, professional and straight fwd on meeting all its policies set in place from getting u in and out from a safe and clean donation
The worst place ever. I been donating for 22yrs I've never seen a place so slow. So rude. So incompetent.
Honestly, it feels as if some of the workers there don't care let alone respect that they are working with human beings and not just bags of plasma. I personally have never gone but my partner is a regular donor there, and eight out of ten times she comes back horrible. Also, the CSL card honestly sucks. If you have, let's say, 7 something on your card and you try to but something for 6 it won't let you. And, to make it worse, it charges you a decline fee everytime.
The girls there are very professional and have great bedside manner. Especially Nat,Sarina, and tish.
I like this plasma bank better then Grifols or BioBlood. They do raffles when you donate around Holidays. Some people have issues when being stuck but ive never had that issue here. Friendly staff fast and Professional. On fast days im in and out in under a hour. Slow days its more like 1 1/2 hours. Its my Favorite blood bank and I 100% recommend it. New donors can earn 1000$ their first month right now. Or if you Haven't donated in over 6months you can come back and get new donor pay.
Very polite staff and never had an issue here before when donating. They make sure you understand everything and answer all your questions.
Always friendly !! The girls who work there are amazing !!! Definitely recommend others to check it out!!
Staff is rude and manager likes to scream at people in front of donars. The manager is the same manager from bio blood component in Hammond that had attitude there that's why she no longer works there. If this the kind of person u have Running your facility u need to re think who u hire.she won't have this job long I can assure u .contacted corporate office only a matter of time!!!!!
Place is a Joke. 6 Stations when walk in. Your lucky if 2 are open. (OH, USE OUR APP TO SAVE TIME!) WHATS THE POINT? UNDER STAFFED EVERYDAY! HOW THIS PLACE HAS EMPLOYEES THAT WANT TO STAY AMAZES ME!
Everyone is always so professional and efficient around here. Typically always look forward to my visits.
Screening for covid is great. What isn't great is the person doing it doesn't change gloves between patients. Requiring social distancing in your building, but the first step to get in defeats the purpose if you don't change gloves....
I have been giving Covid antibody plasma here for a few months. Great place, very clean, and professional. Everyone is very nice. Phlebotomists are really great... One stick and it's done..
its takes at least 3-4 hours just to get your vitals check and to donate its at least 10 workers just standing around chitchatting and not helping Donors they only use 2 rows of the beds and not all 4 rows you'll will be there for at least 5 hrs
Only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because they pay slightly more than surrounding sites. The wait times are ridiculous and it feels like there is no sense of urgency to get people through. They have the same process as every other plasma center around so why it takes 3x as long to get through this place is beyond me. Only worth it for the first 8 donation, and barely at that.
Dumbest most unprofessional place to ever donate your plasma. Every worker was in there eating while people were waiting to donate. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE. Blood splatter on the floors and walls as well. Felt like I would have caught a disease.
Staff is always professional and friendly. One time sticks, no pain. In and out quickly too. Love it there
Pay is good for the time that your spend. The workers are very nice. Time can be long depending when you come.
Just avoid this place. They're always understaffed, and when they do have staff they are super unprofessional. Wait times are ridiculous
Everyone is very professional and very friendly Special shout outs to Sarina and Kelly.
My first time going Tia was my phlebotomist. She is awesome, makes you feel comfortable and gives you info you might not know about donating.
I would give them 4 stars when I first starting to come here be here for about a hour lately machines messing up and it that's not the problem them 2 maybe 3 people hooking u up after kiosk to just get hooked up to start hour and I'm still waiting to be hooked up to get started you can tell who the favorites are they will pay attention I'm not saying all the girls do it but its noticable and inappropriate now my time went from maybe hour and 15 mins to 2 to 4 hours and for 35.00 it's not really worth it any
I donate here once some times twice a week, staff is always nice.. the place is always clean and they always get the needle in right the first poke.
Wonderful people, usually if they ask to get in and out, but everyone there is just so friendly so helpful
Everyone who works there is friendly and professional. Your first visit takes about three hours, but after that each visit is about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. I don't think there is an easier way to make extra money than this.
Incompetence abound at this place. Ask the same question to 3 different people and get 3 different answers. Was butchered by staff members who stuck me 6 times. Bruised my arm so bad that I couldn't donate for 4 weeks
The staff was kind and courteous. The place does get backed up in occasion.
Very goor positioning off route 6th. Staff is great very kind. No appointments needed! Waiting time verys. I can usually be in and out in about
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
