This location is an absolute failure on all aspects.... totally incompetent. I tried to switch donating from Onalaska(Biolife) location to Southside La Crosse (CSL)for convenience to me and still provide much needed plasma for needed patients.... stick with BIOLIFE.... trust me
The techs are not very good. When I mention the needle is not in my vein all the way they dismiss what you say until it's too late. 3 weeks later I'm still bruised all over.
The staff are always friendly, and they are trying their hardest. The wait times are so much better than BioLife, and being open 12 hours a day provides enough time before or after work to donate. As long as you're generally healthy, there isn't an issue with eligibility. I've never had an issue here.
Great people, Amy, and Nkem, and Lucas were so polite and helped me with anything I needed without hesitation every time I go. Get in donate your plasma and you're out within an hour! Can't say that about bio- life. Thank u to all the workers keeping the place so clean and welcoming.
Amy and Nkem are wonderful employees. They're both very attentive, kind and always have a smile on their face. They make donating an enjoyable experience. Now why did the amount received for donating go down? Shouldn't it go up like the cost of living?
Clean, easy, great place to help folks and get extra money for sitting in a chair for a half an hour.
Super friendly staff and do everything in there power to ensure you have a great donation. Wait times are much lower than competitors and the compensation is great.
I stopped by CSL to get more information. The place was clean, organized and Alex was very helpful and welcoming.
Great location and "okay" place to donate but the wait times are ridiculous here at times and a lot of the staff seem to be new, I keep seeing new faces when I come here so I'm assuming they have a high turnover rate. Normally I wouldn't care about people being new but they messed up twice out of the 7 times I've donated here. Came in again after they messed up and waited 45 minutes just to see the nurse to confirm my arm is okay to donate, I walked out by then cause I lost my patience waiting. Also came in
It took me a while to get everything sorted out to verify that I am an eligible donor, but once I was cleared it's been hassle-free. The staff are friendly and the lines always move quickly. I've had zero issues with needle placement and have had a comfortable experience with each donation.
The paysign debit card is a rip off. There are too many fees attached to it. I miss the old days when you were paid cash. Each time I donate, I am losing between $5 and $10. I know we're doing this to help I'll folks, who need plasma, but it's also income for me. If I was losing $1-$2 per donation, it wouldn't be a big issue. It's just difficult to be promised a certain amount, and end up with quite a bit less. Other than that the staff is friendly, and donation time is usually not too long. Get rid of pays
Regardless of where you decide to donate locally, CSL Plasma does offer the MOST money rewards/perks per month. Pros -Staff is super friendly -Check-in procedure via mobile app -Highest financial rewards -Monthly prize drawing -Free Wi-Fi -Access to snacks and water pre- and post-donation -Majority of the time, visits are super efficient That said, here are the issues with this location. -Will close unexpectedly, WITHOUT notifying donors (what's the point of having an app to check-in if there is no commu
Lucas's jokes are cornier than a farmer's field in Iowa, but he is very pleasant to around. Give this man a raise gosh darnit!
So my husband and I have now attempted to donate here 3 times within the past week. The wait time was fairly quick and the staff was freindly. However our of all three times neither me nor my husband were able to donate. We followed their advice, drank tons of fluids, ate healthy, stopped eating certain things we were told to stay away from. For me it was my iron was too low by 1 point the first time, as well as the second. So I started taking an iron supplement, Wich then on the third try sent my iron leve
When you don't have to work on weekends, and you don't open on weekdays until 10 and 11, I shouldn't continously hear how "people won't stop coming in," or about your co worker drama. Nobody wants to hear about it. You have a very low volume of people coming in here compared to other donation centers, and customers are the reason this establishment is open and the reason you have job. You will NEVER walk into a Walgreens, a restaurant etc, and hear them complaining about their employees or customers. Handle
I have not donated at this facility but the hours are ridiculous! How can anyone that works an 8-5 job possibly become a donor? My son was donating for a few months and then the hours changed so he is no longer able to. The hours needs to be expanded at least two nights a week to accommodate those potential donors or take donors until 6:00 - yes that will mean that workers will need to stay longer but isn't the idea of a plasma donation center to have as many donors as possible?
I am very impressed by this donation unit, I stood outside this morning from 700am to 745am when it clearly stated on the app and the front door they're open from 700am to 700pm! I literally froze, and had to unthaw!! Hands were numb and all, and they had the audacity to deny me from donating because my blood pressure was high, because I stood outside in the cold for close to a hour!!!!!!! ??
Excellent place to donate. I never have any issues being able to donate. The only complaints I have are that they need to expand their hours. With some people's work schedule, we cant donate twice a week every week.
I have been to this center about six times and almost every time it seems they are finding ways to prevent you from donating. I get that it needs to be safe for the doners and for the plasma recipients but for Christ sake, if you cannot donate with a small bruise on one arm from your last donation why do you have to fish around for a vein ensuring it's gonna be a while before you're able to donate again. Get better phlebotomists will ya?!! Then, if you go through the health questionnaire on the app and they
I have donated Plasma many times over the past 20 years. I've been to 3 different places in this time frame. I'd have to say that CSL has been the worst of those 3. I'm not going to bash any of the Staff because they are always nice when I see them but I am not impressed with their skills when it comes to putting a needle in my arm. Let's just say it's been an ongoing issue. I will no longer be donating Plasma. Not at CSL or anywhere else for that matter.
Other than my inability to use the screening machine efficiently, I enjoyed my 1st experience donating plasma and am looking forward to giving more. Everyone was really nice and my phlebotomist (Sean) was knowledgeable and reassuring.
Rarely does it take more than 5 minutes to start my donation. They got a super friendly & experienced crew. Their aim is always on point
I swear every time I go they find a way to stop me from donating. I was turned away along with everyone else who came 2 hours before they stopped taking people because ONE of their staff was sent home with the flu. Don't waste your time here go to biolife in Ona.
Jason drew my blood today and Holy crap, I saw the needle go in and didn't feel a thing. 5/5 experience.
Tried to go here to donate and they said I wasn't eligible to donate bc of my zip code. When I called they said nothing about that. If I could give 0 stars I would??
I've been donating at CSL for several months now and generally, there's low wait and pretty much always super friendly staff. I would recommend!
Not helpful at all. Told me I cannot donate because of my zip code! No explanation at all. Tried calling the center, left message with a lady, said someone would get back to me so I waited for three days! No one called.
An excellent alternative to donating at Biolife in Onalaska. Friendly staff, no appointment needed and a healthy compensation schedule. Highly recommended!
Hope you have half a day to wait?. Everything else is great though
Ditto to everything Carla said above. I have had it with this place. It's costing me more money and time than it's worth.
The rest of the staff is very nice but the nurse is super rude and needs to work on her customer service.
Great staff very clean inside staff willing to help and answer questions and give you all the information you need.
I'm not entirely sure this company hires people that should be in charge of your health or sticking you with needles
They were very polite and everything went smoothly!! ??
Don't go if your from Tomah.waist of @#$%ing time.staff can't answer any questions.
Very courteous and professional
Friendly phlebotomist
Closed on Saturday.. Cmon!!
Nice staff, clean environment.
Friendly and professional staff
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
