CSL Plasma Minneapolis, MN

CSL Plasma Minneapolis, MN

Reviews Summary

The reviews present a mixed consensus. Many praise the friendly, professional staff and clean environment, with some donors having positive long-term experiences. However, frequent complaints highlight understaffing, long wait times, unprofessional behavior, and inconsistent phlebotomy quality. Sanitation concerns, machine issues causing pain, and poor communication also recur. While loyal donors appreciate the effort despite challenges, others strongly advise avoiding this location due to inefficiency and subpar service. Ratings are polarized, with 5-star endorsements contrasting sharply against 1-star frustrations over mismanagement.

I have faithfully donated plasma at this location for over 2 years and will continue to come back. Why? Even with signage that is out right lying. Because nearly every single person I interact with is knowledgeable and efficient at their jobs. A recent change to how they manage the phlebotomy floor has greatly improved efficiency. Are the new machines better? No, not in the least. They are noisy to disturbing levels and there is no visual indicator for the donor to know what stage they are at in the pr

Edit: I think the staff are pretty good, most are considerate and warm. Went to the st Paul location for a few months before coming to this one (for life reasons unrelated to the location), I like most of the staff there, as well. Seems like I'm posting this while they're installing a new fleet of machines

Waited 2 hrs and left because so slow. Heard others waited 4 hrs just to get to donation table. Poor management and understaffed. Poor training for new machines which are supposed to be faster, but makes workers slower. Busiest center in state must make a lot of money with high volume and low pay out. Poorly run. Don't waste your time. Addendum: 5th time this month had to leave because of more than 2 hr wait times. Staff just standing around, empty chairs. Half as many machines as before. Management

I went there yesterday to donate and not only is the process long and unorganized, there was blood on the waiting room seats, widow and wall and a bloody cotton ball on the floor. The place is filthy looks overall unsanitary. I don't understand why they can't take turns cleaning up and sanitizing the place. Blood Bourne pathogens are real, so I left. Never will I go again, nor will recommend this location at anyone.

Clean and safe. Super friendly staff. Very welcoming Great potential work environment.

White guy who I believe is the supervisor I think it was glasses anyways he took my past to skip the line because it was old and wrinkled mind you this is only my second time going to donate in a 30-day period. I was told to use that pass at either line my second trip.

Usually pretty fast and a good experience. As of late it's been pretty long line waits I assume due to exchanging out machines for new ones other than that awesome place

Not sure what other people have problems with, I donate here twice a week and it's always quick and easy compared to other csl centers I've been to. Haters apparently still going hate with no reason lol

Lucy and Shay are amazing workers they have warm smiles and were proper with sanitation and making sure I was comfortable! I will definitely be donating again!

They will claim they want you to donate but then say your pulse is too high. In fact, none of my vitals other than my weight were told to me. Stick to another location like New Hope, which is where I usually go anyway

Well I donated plasma without any problems until this new machine came. The new machine cause bruises, and neck, shoulder chest and arm pain that I can't sleep at night. I never experienced this before. It was very hurtful I thought I was about to die. My bruises are gone but still feeling pain even though it improves.

Csl in general. The pay is steadily dropping. 2nd donation has gone from $65 last year to $50 this year. No notification about it either. Nothing is posted about the change on the csl app. ??

love, LOVE CSL plasma! the staff and team members there are absolutely amazing and very sweet! yeah, there are people there who can be rude and people who are just not in the mood going thru a bad day and that's okay, but I've never had any problems or issues. when taking my vitals and being stuck in the back for my donation process, never had any issues and made my donation process go great. I really like the Minneapolis location and bc its kinda close where I stay at even tho I stay more on the north side

If you are mobile your best option is branching off to the suburbs twice I tried donating here and the lines are outrageous I was going to give up csl for this reason

Normally they're pretty good about inserting the needle. Today I went in and had to switch arms because the needle was put in weird the first time. As you can see from the pictures below one arm the needle puncture is bruised and the other looks fine. This happened because the person who was putting a needle in my arm must have been new and pulled it out and put it back in a good five or six times. I still will come to this location because I like the staff and it's pretty clean. I think that you guys shou

Giving a special shout out to Sultan who always makes my visits so quick and comforting Thank you for your hard work!!

Dont offer opitions for appointment if you aren't going to honor them. I've had to spend an hour waiting to be seen when I made an appointment.

Would give zero stars if possible. Long wait times, rude staff, nurse visits for any little thing. Go to the one on University and Dale, or better yet, switch to Octapharma if you can. Their debt card can be used like a regular debt card, rather than a hit or miss card that is not accepted everywhere like CSLs.

This location is gross. Staff do not change gloves between people. The staff are few and far between. They hire all of these ghetto people that are incompetent. They are rude and don't seem like they know what they are doing. For new people expert to wait 2-5 hours. The app dose not work at all which is not the fault of this location but shows the company. Every other location in the twin cities is much nicer. I would highly recommend the extra 20 min drive.

The environment can vary from day to day, but not too bad on line wait time. Outside is dirty but what can you expect it's lake street. Staff are nice most times, only thing costing them a 5 star rating is the African American boss lady named Jada, girl is quick to cop an attitude with donors, seems she loves to use her position of power for retaliation when simply asking questions. The tone of her voice feels very threatening. I can't see how she made a manager position treating people like they are beneat

So I went to donate today and everything was going well, I gave them my ID and my SSN card and then they asked me to say my social. I've hardly ever had to use it so I don't have the whole thing memorized but I had the last 4 digits. This wasn't good enough and turned me away. I asked someone when they came out if they had to at any point verbally say their SSN and they said no. As a result I can only assume this was targeted as I'm very clearly trans

The "access control" area has been backed up a lot lately because they haven't been seating people even though they are behind. Rows of seats are available and about 25-30 people are waiting to get onto the donor floor and the supervisor just walked off. Everyone is getting pretty sick of this and I'm not the only one who is unnerved by this.

Best service, professional and nice staff! Clean & considerate! 5 stars all the way! Everybody is quick to review when they've had a bad experience. I think this place is always clean, always professional. You can always request staff if you feel you need a certain person to stick you.

Dude the last time I went they made me go to a ?pro? and look what he did. I'm supposed to be able to donate tomorrow but I won't be able to go with a bruise this big. Bruises happen but this is the issue I asked Sultan to stop 5 times before he finally did. It was wrong. I am hurt and he embarrassed me by telling everyone that I wanted to stop because of a reaction. The arm he kept stabbing around to get vein. The arm he was trying on is very hard to get a vein, I realized we probably wouldn't be able to g

I felt like I was being treated like a naughty child. Talked down to with a disrespectful tone from a staff member. Logical reasonable explanations for questions were dismissed as if I was lying.

If I could give 0 stars I would. First I walk in and they suddenly decide that I need to speak to someone who speaks my language (me being bilingual and walking in speaking English) and when I asked to speak in English bc it was not necessary they basically refused because of ?policy?. Questions that I had already answered in the questionnaire I had to go thru, were asked probably like 5 times more after. The nurse, THE NURSE, having a runny nose and not working with gloves until the very time he is about t

Never a dull moment here! William & Sultan team up and close in on the rush, meanwhile... there's a Bonita woman of Spanish descent working diligently, practicing great professionalism. #Teamwork #They'reAllGreatHere

Just left there and miss Miski, the phlebotomist, CLEARLY doesn't like her job OR enjoy being at work. Nothing like coming in happy, called up to get your vitals checked and then suddenly feeling like your a problem and unwanted to a worker. The disinterest, the huff and puff, the eye roll. Definitely not needed nor someone who should be working in this field.

Trash they so quick to defer someone all the time. Don't go here staff are rude. The first time I walked in there I got in an argument with a staff member. She was ghetto. She was so quick to say something snappy when it wasn't even that big of a deal. I passed out when I was donating and they would not take the needle out of my arm. I literally woke up from passing out with the needle still in my arm after I had asked them to take it out before I passed out the 2nd time. Because I screamed at them to take

Great staff who are very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk with. Clean facility with a great set up. The windows make it feel very open and easy to donate in. Parking isn't the best but honestly isn't that hard even in the surrounding residential area, and access to the bus line is great.

I walked in waited in the line patiently and got called so I took a seat on the floor the machine wasn't even set up when I got there two girls walked up too me and asked if I was okay I told them yes I'm good few mins later the manager walked up too me some bald head Indian guy he asked me like three times if I was good I told him yes what's the problem why do u keep asking me the same thing so he felt like I had a attitude and even if I did the employees kept harassing me asking me the same thing so he to

Entirely understaffed at jam packed moments throughout the day. Took me over an hour and a half to get through line today. Not too sure what's going on but it sucks. 6 screening booths with only 1 open doesn't add up to me. It is nice to contribute and there are a few really hard working and polite/respectful employees here that make the sometimes excruciating wait times worth it.

CSL on Lake St is always clean and professional. The staff is friendly enough. Longest I have ever been there is 75 minutes.

Some staff need to show kindness and compassion and

Run away I arrived yesterday with low expectations. I was told I was going to make $100. After jumping through the hoops necessary to get into the physical room after about an hour, the doctor told me in response to a common medication beta blocker used to treat anxiety, which should be common knowledge to any competent practitioner, incredulously, that they've never heard it used to treat anxiety, as if they didn't believe me. They then denied me donation and issued a deferral, pointing to the common gener

I've been donating at CSL for years in St. Paul and have always had a great experience. The minneapolis location has a bad reputation but I usually get through the first two lines at a moderate pace. All my life I've been told I have good veins but since going to this location I have been having issues. One of the staff went through my vein , I've had that fluid back up , bleeding during. Very strange. Then today I had a bad experience with the AM Ahmed. After switching locations my original red card did

The scales are off. Even when reported to staff nothing changed. One scale said my bf weighed over 10 pounds different than the previous time. Several times for the last month+. And it put him in a different weight category. Not only can it be dangerous if you take too much plasma from someone who weighed too little because they weighed wrong because of your scales, other people who weighed more are getting weighed less sometimes too and getting jipped on $. Recalibrate the scales please! Also the staff don

This place is a great place to go. I had the nicest lady named Sarah do my vitals, and she did such a great job of making me feel welcomed, valued, and I really felt like she cared. You can tell she loves what she does. I live in Burnsville but I try to come to the Minneapolis location because I love the atmosphere. Thanks CSL and most of all, thank you Sarah for being such a wonderful person!

I got thru really quick they sped up the process.good job guys.also they're really professional and treat you with respect.

The employees are friendly. I go to this location often. They are almost always super busy at the time of day I come, but they usually are good at getting people through fairly quickly. My only complaint is some of the employees complain about the donors infront of other donors. Also the bathrooms are always nasty. And never kept up. They have gotten a little better but still never clean.

They are under staffed and the professionalism isn't there. They swear in front of their customers, they have lack professionalism at such a startling low that is appealing and beyond reproach. The place makes my skin crawl but there are a few good ones there but in comparison to the bad apples this place will make you sick if you are a person of quality.

Ive read a lot of the other reviews. And the low ranking reviews are much too critical. When it comes to the cleanliness, you must understand it is the visitors fault for it being dirty. The employees should clean, yes. But thats not their job. They shouldnt be cleaning up after messy people. However, while the wait is long. I wouldnt dare go to another CSL. I went to St Paul and was told to "wait. The pinching in your arm stops. Just be patient" when I was in pain. Popular location and the staff deals well

1st time going expect to be there for more than 2 to 3 hours. A good place. See most of the same faces every time you go. Would've gave a higher rating but the blood pressure cuffs are always rank, & depending on the times you have to wait an extended amount of time.. ?? otherwise the staff are very friendly! ??

Sarah was super nice and assisted me with printing my W-2 because you can't have a copy of your social security card. I was very happy with the process and the staff was very friendly throughout.

I've been going twice a week, every week for about 4 or 5 months. The staff is overall pretty friendly, and as long as you treat them with respect, they will do the same. They put up with a lot and are just doing their job.

You really just have to go early in my opinion. Whenever I go early lines are almost non existent and service is fast. Now it's true some of the phlebotomists shouldn't be on the floor because they need a lot of additional training but other than that the place is decent. The only thing I don't like is how goofy they like to be. They goof off with each other creating a vibe that they aren't completely concentrated on you and you only.

Amazing staff! Hardworking, polite , compassionate. Great place.! I highly recommend it

These new machines are absolute garbage

First time i donated it went smooth with no problems and they said the next time you donate you will have to bring proff of address. I did and was turned away because something was wrong with the letter and told to come back. I did and now they say since i have roommates that are in treatment. I was a little upset but i said okay. I moved away and brought in letter with new address and then they said i still couldnt donate untill they call me so agian i didnt get to donate. They call me next day and say i c

Although the kiosks get slow and the wait can be long, the energy and communication is very good. I feel that the donors in S. Mpls come down too hard on staff at this CSL, there will be some drunk ppl out side trying to come and disrupt and the staff does well with keeping them at bay. And I have met some of the best phlebotomists here. Overall, decent place in my opinion.

This place promised me 100 dollars then was extremely rude and said I was lying and would not honor the promotion I was told I would get by a staff member and manager before leaving I would receive the 100 dollars . This place is very unprofessional and was given the run around. Do not go here they do not care about your payment l. They treat everyone as a number not a human .

Staff was very rude. I am an RN who came to donate and the staff was doing a lot of NOTHING while multiple people waited for upwards of 3 hours to even get processed and in to donate plasma. That is ridiculous and this company obviously does not have the correct management to support the standard protocol of the facility. I will be spreading the word for people to never donate at CSL plasma when there are plenty of other competitors who have their staff and standards straight. Employees were not changing gl

Staff wasn't always clear about the registration process. Be sure to have a government issued ID, proof of SSN, and proof of residence. Eat a meal and drink plenty of water the day before. The front desk isn't really staffed well. Intial registration and testing took about 3 hours. During the screening, physical, and donation, the staff was professional and thorough. The facility was clean and comfortable. Overall, just go first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds. There was quite the line by 10am. Br

I would give the place a 5 star rating but some of these new employees you all are hiring are down right unprofessional. Idk what this one African American girls name is because I refuse to go to her screening booth after she lost my plasma in the machine. She cusses like a sailor and talks about everything known to man as if she isn't at work. I'll find out her name to report her. I guess y'all are desperate for employees so the chances of her getting fired are slim to none but other than that I'm just sel

Are you feeling well/healthy today? Don't get others sick for your own selfish reasons. STAY HOME!!!

The lines can be a bit long on some days.... but that's to be expected at any donation center. Usually though I'm in and out within 2 hours, which is much faster then what it use to be... wish they had more seating in the waiting area before the donation floor though.

Completely understaffed at most times and unwilling to care about the customer experience. Compensate for lack of professionalism, slow times, and poor customer service by at least paying a decent amount for your donation.

A nice place to donate plasma for money. Staff members are friendly if given respect. Depending on the time of day the lines can be long. It's better to come in early if you really want to be seated right away. Overall experience I say it's great.

On feces, loathing and capitalism. Walk in the door, incredibly longs lines. You can expect a waiting time of about 1-1:30 hours waiting in line just to have your vitals taken. Employees often wandering around aimlessly checking their phones. Texting in front of you. They look down on you for sure here. Well not all the employees but a great many of them look at you with disgust in their eyes for the human cattle that have come to have their precious life fluids drained from you at the human farm. They ar

I would give it 0 if I really could. This is about a specific employee David something i don't know his last name. But this person has harassed my friend on multiple occasions while getting hooked up, asked for her number and when he got it would harass her about her looks and make her upset. This is very very unprofessional and it's very sad and maddening that an employee gets to get away with harassing females at the workspace while who knows how many other women were made to feel uncomfortable to even do

I always go here in my donations. They have a low turnover, so I've been there over the last 6 years on and off, and the staff are wonderful. The management is very helpful if you have questions or problems.

This place is nice, convenient, the staff is helpful, and ultimately what you'd expect a plasma donation facility to be with the types of clientele. That being said, I will continue to go to them and put up with the mild stresses of waiting. Be sure to go in the morning when they open so you can get in and out. I like CSL Plasma.

if you were placed on the NDDR registry for testing positive to Hepatitis C (HCV) 24 years ago and Have received treatment to treat the HVC with Mavyret medication and have a letter confirming that your labs indicate that you have been cured of Hepatitis C why cant you donate if they take a new blood sample instead of going on the old marker that was identified 23 years ago No new test was given. the letter from the clinic and speciality gastroenterology and liver clinic was null and void waited over 2 ho

You'll needlessly waste 3 hours. I've never seen the workers here even pretend to try to work quickly. They'll walk as slowly as they possibly can from break, stop and chit chat frequently while there is a line wrapped around the building. Awful service, I recommend Biolife.

This is THE worst CSL I've ever been to. The environment is terrible and the phlebotomists don't even feel for your veins before sticking you, resulting in a donation that takes nearly 2 hours. I highly recommend he CSL center in Bloomington compared to all the other ones in the twin cities.

Excellent staff & management personnel. I encourage anyone to donate plasma who's looking to make a positive difference in other people's lives. I've personally donated over 660 times. They're also currently testing your donation sample for COVID-19 antibodies to assist in creating antivirals as well as a vaccine. I highly recommend CSL Plasma.

This location has nurse, techs, and phlebotomist who DO NOT Change their gloves between patients! Please please please I cannot stress enough do not come here it is very unsanitary in a place that deals with nothing BUT blood and ?preventing? infectious disease. They will fingerstick you squeeze your blood , not change gloves , and move onto the next patient. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! When asked that the triage tech change gloves they rolled their eyes and said ?they knew what they were doing? i?m very happy

Been resulting to going there for a term now & the customer service is 9/10ths (90?) smiles.. & the only downfall is a wait time on select days. Great people/ cool unity .. money .. money .. helps me fuel the tank to get to my paycheck every 2 weeks.. kinda sux but God likes us depending on him .. power up ya-ll, don't quit, U Can Do It! RISE above(besides, it helps people) see u there. Um, 270.00 first 5..1st appt takes The most time.. breeze after that . Peace

Not bad but need a dedicated "receptionist" for phones and front desk so other staff is free up to perform their duties too.. Other than that great. I used to donate long ago at old dinkytown location :)

The process on your first time donating is really tiring, but after that's all done it is all quick and easy. I would give 5 stars but the pkace is way too dirty, the medical equipment is spotless but the waiting room is trashy and the restroom pure diabolical

The best in the plasma bussiness right here. I been given plasma for 4 decades. I know everybody bye name that work there know and used too work there. From the jaintor to the supervisor every one there are great people friendly nice kindness sweetness careing they care about you.lets say you get a bruise the nurse will call you and check on you. They all change there gloves wipe every thing down it's very very clean. I keep on going there along time from the place over bye the uofm. There is alot different

The staff is super friendly and professional. They speak to the donors in a familiar way that makes it feel comfortable and less stressful.

Great Staff here, love the staff member Simone and Cynthia! They are great!! ??

Fast service the lines move pretty quick staff is friendly and knowledgeable they treat you like family as soon as you walk through the door of the donor center....

I like it there I've been there so many time I love the staff on there good day and there bad day I understand so its work and I understand some ppl give off bad vibe then the staff have bad vibe so there happy you will leave happy go the mad you will leave happy...lol

I've been coming here for 17/18 years it's a wonderful place they do the best they can!!! Of course they need more staff everyone does but I believe they do the best they can with what they have it's like a little family I love it!!!!!

Few days ago, I sand you a message about my experience at a donation center CSL plasma at Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN, I still waiting for your answer.I can see, nobody knows they responsibility, even The head office. It's a objective abuse from your party torch me, like a Russian and white women. You pulled me out from the donation without no reason to it. Your explanation is not reasonable to me: " Your mailing address not qualified", 2 year donation the same address. What is your problem?

I am glad I'm back home

How do people -literally- get in to donate plasma here? *No one* at the First Time Donors desk to tell those who have been waiting in line (for a while) that they are no longer taking first-timers? I could barely get a response out of another worker I asked about when the right time to come is, since the time they told me to come yesterday was obviously incorrect (2.5+ hours before close). If I ever get in, perhaps I'll find out how the process actually goes.

I started out here with the promotion and have been there a number of times since. Courteous and professional staff.

The staff is down to earth. They are everyday people. I've been donating for over a year there and have made some very good friends.

The staff are wonderful. They have to deal with a very diverse and some times difficult clientele. Keep up the great work!!

I been donating at the lake Street plasma center since the first day that opened the doors. I go twice a week and don't miss a day. I feel the staff are helpful and well trained and very friendly.

Slow as hell the staff cant even read. Better off going to any other csl you will be in and out of another center faster even with drive time..it's worth it to go somewhere else if you can.

Lake St The Worst CSL Ever. Staff Very Unwelcoming and Unfriendly. I Waited 30 mins to get to the kiosk 2 hours in the screening line and a hour in the back . very slow

They kept having me watch the video and come back multiple times with different paperwork and then after the 5th time of coming and spending hours there they said I cannot donate. WAIST OF MY TIME!

Csl plasma on lake Street is the best ever i been going a very long long time well let's say before lots you were born but any way.ok there is alot plasma centers ever were but this is the best ever the best there is the best there was the best there ever be I no everybody names work there now plus everybody that worked there and gone me i no that only me.so up front there quick nice very professional they don't mess around they all do the right things look for bruises and have you take off watch very nice

Char the nurse was amazing The entire staff was nice and very helpful I would come back here again five stars
