Donated regularly for the past few years and had a great experience. Offered status as an athletic donor when my pulse was considered too low at many other donation centers. The place is nice and clean. The phlebotomists are cool. Some of them might be having a crappy day....there's A LOT of different personalities they have to deal with so I give them a break. I'm not one for that needle at all, and I always think does it hurt everyone else? It does...I'm just more scared and sensitive of it. But for the most part no one looks like I do when they get it put in. The pay isn't bad...$45 first visit $65 second in a week. Today was my first visit of the week and I I got $105.0

Extended wait times. Also bloody cotton ball left on lobby chair as well as 3 or 4 laying around restroom. Talk about unsanitary. When asked when is nurse coming back from lunch for physical, apparently, they do not keep track of that. Wasted a whole 4 hour for there nurse never to come back after break so unprofessional

I don't quite understand how you have operating hours that are never adhered to. How does one state they aren't opening till noon and then extend out again until 3pm? Extremely frustrating and it conveys a lack of consideration for those who frequent the establishment and rely on coming in. Also, an adjustment of the attitude employees seem to have would be decent. A simple warm greeting or demeanor would improve the atmosphere and it costs nothing. First time donating here! Everything was pretty smooth and easy until I got to the actual donating part. Incorrectly jabbed my vein, and they kept trying to fix it by essentially swirling the needle in my arm to get a good flow, which cause the area to get irritated and a bit swollen. Had to finish by sticking my other arm. Friendliness 9/10, pain 7/10. Right arm hurts, left arm is fine.

I was deferred because I had a miss- stick and the first month I wasn't allowed to come back over 300 Pts was taken and then 280 and so on. This has gone on the entire time I was with you all. Over a thousand pts stolen from me each time I was deferred. I was told I have to check in weekly to keep my pts. And I did. And still lost my pts. This is the worst plasma center I have ever been to and will never return or refer anyone to this place until my points are returned even so I still wouldn't risk my heal

They still don't have saline and won't even offer the Powerade that they have. I had to go get it myself last time I was there. The atmosphere is somewhat rude but, my interaction with the staff has been okay. They definitely need to tighten up.

I went in 2 weeks ago with my proper information and once I get set up I wait for over 2 hours just to be told that I can't sell because I have minor cuts 3 on my hands for construction work, I tried to explain that I'm frustrated because of a lot with my grandfather and instead of trying to make things better the lady told me to stop yelling witch I was not, and was told to just go home, NEVER COME HERE They do a weight to pay so if your under 150 it's not worth it. This last visit has made me not want to donate anymore, they blood clotted my arm at the Norfolk military circle office and had no answer so I went to patient first 3 days later and they told me that the blood clot was unsafe, and then gave me further medical attention. Went back to CsL who then wanted to defer me for additional weeks based off the work they performed. Not to mention waking up in front of my children with this bruise. Most employees and management is amazing. Had one issue just of someone smelling heavy of weed. I mentioned it. And it became a huge front desk issue with the person I stated it too telling the person I was talking about them. Unfortunately, I encountered an incredibly RUDE worker at my first visit. She begged me to leave because I arrived at an inconvenient time. I did the questions you have to do before every visit online so I don't have to wait at the kiosk in line. I sit down to be screened, the lady then tells me I'm supposed to scan the QR code at the kiosk anyways, I was not told about that process my first visit. So I go to the kiosk and she proceeds to call the next person in line instead of waiting for me, which the line is now about 7 people deep now so I'm in the back of line. I couldn't figure out how to scan the code at the kiosk and I pressed the ?help

The moment y'all started changing stuff in here everything got worse . Then the wait time is insane . Today is more than likely my last time donating as a whole .

I was trying to help my sister donate for the first time as she just moved into Virginia Beach. The guy up front with blond curly hair was very rude towards the end when we were trying to explain our situation. He was going to try and send mail to us because she literally didn't have any mail yet but since she got the one number wrong on the zip code he got snappy with an attitude saying that she didn't live here which was not needed at all and un true. I always have a good, quick experience with the staff and donation process here. It's clean and efficient. The poor compensation, which the staff doesn't control, is the only reason I don't donate more often.

I decided to try a new plasma place and decided CSL had a pretty good bonus. Folks in the back are awesome. They make you feel comfortable. They're personable and proactive. Some of the folks in the front, however, seem to be a little to comfortable about being spiteful. Like casually bragging about giving folks issues. It's extremely off putting and hard to justify. I waited a few donations before making this review because I really didn't want to review based on a bad day, but its consistent.

(Long post) My husband and I both started going to this location around two months ago. Out of the 8 times I've tried to donate, I've only been able to donate THREE times. There's ALWAYS A PROBLEM! My heart rate was ONE point too high, go sit for 15 min. Next time, your BP is too high, go sit for 15 min. Next time, one of your questions were flagged, go see the nurse...cant donate today. The nurses are rude the black lady rolls her eyes while asking questions like she don't to me be there the white lady with glasses I ask her a question and she was rude with her response I was new they have you do the physical before the donating part which needs to be first because why have somebody go thru the whole process to get denied for wheezing or anything when if it was caught at the beginning I wouldn't feel like my time was wasted really was a waste of time

Very knowledgeable and caring phlebotomists. The staff has always been helpful whenever asked any questions about scheduling or any health concerns. They get very very busy at times and the staff can get swamped so try to plan your trip ahead of time by atleast an hour.

This place needs corporate to do a secret visit, the customer service is the worst ever, the nurse/ the that give the physical, intensively make donors wait 4 or hours or more. Clients Walk out because of most of the staffs behavior, disrespect,rude.And not to mention,They play with your money.

Staff is a hit or miss. Most are amazing people if they can keep them. Clean and they are pretty fast with the flow rate of people unlike Octapharma. Would be 5 but had issues with a nurse there and a manager who were very rude and demeaning. But overall a clean efficient place.

Just stopped at the Csl plasma center and I saw a lady standing there by the doorway near the window at 7:58 pm by the time I got there she locked the door before 8 pm with the Deputy looking stupid.I works two whole jobs and trying to save lives on my 1 to 2 in a half break.She is so unprofessional and she suppose to be A Nurse as well.She needs to be in another field doing something else because she doesn't do her job right at all

Stay away from this facility. Oh my goodness. You don't feel like you're doing a public service here. Here they make you feel like you are being booked into jail. Inmates are treated better. I don't understand some of the bad reviews. I'm a white male and have had great experiences at CSL Norfolk. First off I don't know anyone who works here, no friends or family so this is completely unbiased. I am not sure what makes the floor staff move but they seem to work 10 times faster and harder than any other centers in the area. Maybe they receive bonuses for the amount of donors they serve? I'm not sure but I could go to other places and get more money for my donation but would rather go to CSL

After waiting for 2 hrs and being told that all my vitals were good and passed 99% of the physical I was told I couldn't donate because of a minor scratch on my nose from my cat. So not only do I have to wait for the scratch to scab before I can come back , but I have to redo the whole process over again. The nurse was kind and explained why. Would go lower if I could. There is no shade and I'm astonished that you all would deffer the first few people in line for smelling like sweat when you opened late and had everyone standing in the 107 degree heat. We complained to corporate now but this location is absolute garbage same as the nurses who work there.

The bad employee(s) make it not worth the trip. I was threatened and almost assaulted by a hotheaded CSL employee and nothing was done about it. No name was provided but she was taking pix of my kids in my car so I was sure to snap a quick pic of her and her friend that wanted so desperately to fight?I've reported this to both the security and front desk and already found a new donation center. Coming here is not worth the harassment and unprofessionalism.

Very predatory business practices that pray on low income individuals. Did not agree with showing up with correct documentation and to wait for 3+++ hours just to be told that since i have a ?pink dot in my forearm? (i have what is known as chicken skin) i wouldn't be able to donate. it seems that every little thing you have on your body is an issue. scratches, bruises or strange looking blood spot that just so happens to be on the forearm. it seems that people there dont even like to work either. weird ju

Jill is one of the best phlebotomists there is at CSL. Her professionalism is top notch. Her needle stick is outstanding. You don't even feel her needle stick she is the real and the best. I only could use one arm and it's never a problem with her. I request her by name every time. She has a true talent and wonderful customer service.

Phlebotomist at the front desk was incredibly rude. I had a government issued ID, proof of address and Social Security card and she would not let me donate because I didn't have a state ID even though nowhere on the website does it say I need a state ID. I told her I was a new donor she immediately got an attitude with me and I need a Virginia ID and sighed really loud.

Over the past 2 days have called a total of 26 times. Spread out throughout the day. No answer. Update: figured I'd update the review. It's gotten no better. Called 4 times today and each time was put on hold. So the 4th time I stayed on hold and drove to the center (31 minute drive) and was still on hold when I walked in. The lady at the front desk was laughing and talking with people and fully ignoring the phone while I was on hold over 30 mins. Trash.

The lady I had who checked my vitals today (4/13/24) named (kaylah) in booth 2 might have been the best donor screener I've ever had. She was kind, she was understanding, She made me feel welcome. Her cool demeanor and the way she pricked my finger so I couldn't feel pain was really nice. More screeners need to be like her and give her a raise! Very rude staff called today to find out why after nearly two months of waiting for a call back I still can't donate. I Call the young lady had very rude attitude. All I wanted was information or to connect me to nurse. Put on whole for 20 minutes. Now when I call back someone is picking up phone and hanging out back up. This isn't first time having issues with this donation center. The Manager needs to either train staff better on how to talk to ppl. Honestly don't waste time going here. Payout is average

This center is wonderful. I switched from a different company because the other was so slow and inefficient, and I've been very satisfied with this new center. It's very well run and organized. I'm only in the building for an hour at most because they have plenty of staff to manage the screening and the donor floor. Their system is very efficient and quick. The center is also in very good condition and it feels very professional. I'm very happy with my decision to switch. I'll be coming here for a while.

Pulled me out of line for having a mark on my arm from donating plasma.(They gave me no less) Sent me to their nurses office and didn't bump me up in line on the donating floor when done. So waited almost an hour gone of my time. Trying to donate on lunch break and they've wasted it.

From the moment I walked in the door I was 100% completely controlled. Even when you go into a courthouse you are not controlled that much. I was told when to sit down where to sit down. Wasn't even allowed to talk to my wife. One of the most horrible places I've ever been.

I frequent this facility quite often. The staff is courteous and friendly. A couple of the standouts are Pam B. and Yolanda. Very nice ladies. These ladies normally do the vitals check upon entering. I would leave -10 stars if possible. This is my 4th time trying to donate here and it is my absolute last. Employees will follow you to your car to fight you. When you report them, instead of giving them the fight, they don't get fired or reprimanded, the donor gets deferred permanently.

Not all of the staff is properly trained in phlebotomy, only a few really know what they're doing and mgmt doesn't seem to care about donor concerns. I shouldn't have to keep having my arm stuck several times in one donation, it's very discomforting. They are friendly enough and the building is clean but donors health and concerns should be the top priority.

I called there to ask what paperwork I need . I brought exactly what they asked plus more . Refused me as a new patient because of my middle name on my license and only my middle initial on all my other information, and they said it doesn't match when I was just at a VA state agency that accepted it on Monday . I love this place. Everyone is wonderful and kind. They always make me laugh and I've never had an issue with donating. I used to go to another center and I didn't feel as comfortable as I do here. And I love how I'm able to get in and out pretty fast. It def works with my busy work schedule.

First time i went they said they were not accepting first time donors because it was late and they did first time donors early in the morning. They said call the mext day first thing in the morning to come in. Next day i call to go donate and they said i cant because they are short staffed. I decided to go to octplasma in Norfolk and they happily accepted me. (Even being short staffed and by walk in)

One person doing all the checking in while everyone stands around! How are you not ready to open and then move like pond water. This place really has went down the drain in the last few months. Trash. The management is trash and so are all the employees.

While the place may look appealing I do not recommend. The staff is ignorant and rude. In specific the woman who does the physical exam especially had an attitude problem. I will never return to this establishment and I suggest everyone else do the same. They have ruined my day

I've been donating for 15 years at several plasma centers but for some reason I was denied because I'm allergic 2iodine but the have a iodine alternative. The lady that does the physical was bragging about how ma!y people she denies. Wasted 4 hours 4 nothing

I have donated plasma for years and will NOT be going back to this location. CSL really should counsel their nurse on her appalling behavior and attitude. There are other options available who appreciate their donors. She needs to go.

Went in for a new donor 1st i called and no one picked up than when i get there everybody standing around talkimg than no one ask have I been helped after a few minutes I walked out. Very unprofessional this was around 2 pm
