CSL Plasma Rockford, IL

Really understaffed. It would have been nice to be notified when I was transferred. I'm from out of state and didn't think it was going to be that way based on prior experiences with this location. But, I know to be here before 6am to get it out of the way due to my average schedule. The main reason for my two star rating is because of the lack of communication between staff and clients.

Husband went Saturday like he has done for quite sometime. Days for him were Friday and Saturday. Went Friday with no problems and goes back on his scheduled day. Was told his protein was not at appropriate level but was the same on Friday and he DONATED. But not able to donate on Saturday even though it was same LEVEL. Was told they could check it out and come back in 7 to 10 days to try again. Got up walked out - I'M DONE! WOW

I was given a pass to go to the front of the line and when I was in the front of the line the whole time I was being harassed by another donor that was behind me making me feel uncomfortable and afraid for my safety he was making racial comments to me and I don't appreciate that I told the manager on the floor and she said she would speak with him but she did not and I don't like to be lied to if you guys want me to come back you're going to have to make the incentive better or put me at the front of the li

It was a nice experience at first. Until they deferred me multiple times and by the time I was allowed to donate i was past my promotional period, and all they did was give me day 2 promotion when i finally donated. They refuse to honor the rest of the promotion even though they're the ones that held me up from donating. It's hard for me to come on here and write a bad review, but today I went to CSL and felt completely embarrassed by staff, I went through the new donor stuff, the video was just fine, got to the screening and the screening was just about fine till they person who was supervising the tech (training I guess) left and told her to go get her for the next part of the screening. Came in at 8:30am and won't see the bed until 11:30 is insane we should be paid for our time and they got new machine like 4 weeks ago and still take 3 hours just to get in the back just shut this place down or hire more workers it should never be just 3 workers in the back it should be like 6 or 7 workers at all times but I guess they don't have people that actually want to work here there new machines cost 45k-65k and it takes longer than the old machines just not how you run a billon dollar company ?????

Look... you can complain if you want, but bottom line, you get money in less than 2 hours for whatever. Can't beat it. Staff is nice if you are. Come in with an attitude and expect it back. I've been there over 50 times in 2024 without a single mishap.

Half the time you'll be waiting in line for 1-2 hours and the other half is almost a walkthrough. The staff seem like they have friendly relationships with the regular donors. But they are currently understaffed, I even heard one employee saying they need a few weeks off otherwise they'll have to quit. Otherwise compared to Biolife it's about the same.

Nice workers and clean place...but the waiting part is the hardest of it all...the payment can be more... But other than the waiting and the money it is nice...

Some of the reviews on here are totally out there ! Been there about a 3 years now, some food for thought: 1. It can get really busy, staff works as fast as they can, but are constantly having to answer the phone and help people, if just half of the people that call could remember their donation days it would help so much. They thought I was drunk or on drugs because I had a brain injury, that was before Dr. Rob. Dr. Rob is cool but has ignorant staff. I forget her name, but she also was discriminatory about my psoriasis and said it looked like chicken pox. Go to Beloit CSL if you can, much better, and they care more.

It was a great experience all the staff were friendly and courteous donating went smoothly and didn't even feel the needle go in!

The staff are pretty nice The only thing I have a problem with is the long line you'll be in line for two or three hours before you even get to the back and it's kind of ridiculous

TLDR: Ive only had two reactions donating plasma and they were both at CSL. Long wait times and some unfriendly staff. I've donated plenty of times before at both BioLife and CSL. The last few times at CSL ,I had a pretty bad reaction where I felt very faint and had multiple nurses fanning me and bringing me ice packs and such. The phlebotomists have created an environment in which they feel far too comfortable behaving unprofessional. They talk about any and everything including donors and don't seem to have the awareness of how it's unprofessional or they dont care. Just called up to this place since the kind people at Beloit location aren't answering yet. All I asked was "will you be open even tho it's so cold today?" Never had any issues with this place. Staff is super friendly and answered all of my questions (I had many), and were super kind about my being a first time donor. I couldn't be happier with how sweet the nurse was to me and the phlebotomists are great as well! When this place first opened it was phenomenal. Within the last 6 months it has taken a nose dive. It's a guaranteed 3+ hour wait. If you come on the weekends you'll be there 4 to 5 hours easily. The first place I've been to that totally missed my vein and shoved the needle into a nerve. When she yelled for assistance another woman came over and proceeded to punch it through into my muscle. I screamed. I have no intention of going back. I've been to Biolife up the road over 10 times and never had a issue before. Just spent 45 mins standing in line int the rain to get in the door. Was literally the first person in. Went to the kiosk and then jumped to the front of the line where my original place was. The complaints about this business are just bogus. If you can't come in here and be respectful of the staff, its your own problem. Even after being deferred for a living situation I was in for a month I was able to talk with a manager and we worked it out. Come in with an attitude and you'll get attitude. Come in and treat them with the respect they deserve, you'll receive the respect you think you are entitled to. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and you get paid for hanging around for awhile.

.Extra income is nice. Averages about $40/hour. Donation time takes about 1 1/2 hours of my time. Get to save a life or two and all have to do is sit still for a little it. Staff is friendly. Sometimes it frustrating to wait in a line, but it's for a good cause.

Went to donate this morning and was sent away permanently due to security. Went in last week donated and touched filter on machine security decided she was gonna be funny and tell on me. When approached by mgmt was told not to touch machine I said ok and apologized finished donation when walking out security guard eyeballs me so I flipped her off. This place is the worst to donate plasma at. One time I had a bruise on my arm that made me get check up by a doctor. I find that the staff at CSL plasma is very knowledgeable in every aspect of the plasma donor process and they're very courteous as well

Staffing is a huge issue at this place. They never have enough employees to accommodate the amount of donors. If you donate here you will always be waiting 2 hours + for a seat in the donation chair. Money not that good either thanks to the wait time. Waiting 2+ hours to only take 30 minutes to donate is unacceptable.

I get heat rash in the summer in my arms, they were itchy and I scratched causing some scabbing. Their nurse said it looked like ?drug marks? so she deferred me from donating until I saw their doctor. I waited couple weeks for it to clear up and returned to donate. They only work on there time. I've had to wait over a month to get cleared to donate and was told it's my fault I can't get the new patient pay. This place does not care about your time. You'll wait in line for two to three hours before you even get to the back to donate which takes another hour of your time.. most of the time people are just rude. And if you don't believe me, take yourself about 4 or 5 hours and go find out yourself... Nothing but a number at this place.

I am sick and tired of places like this expecting you to "donate" blood. Don't go to places like this. Go somewhere that they will pay you. You know damn well they are making money off your donation. Go somewhere else that is not a "donation" center.

Simple put its a health hazard you dogs furr hold millions of particles and thats not even if they havent been out in the world away from their home.
