Never had an issue throughout my donations! Staff are attentive and well organized at dealing with the amount of people who go through here. Yes it can get a little busy but the overall experience is a positive. Patience will go a long way when they're at their busiest.
Everyone complaining about the staff in these reviews is bugging, they might be a little under staffed but the staff they do have are some of the most pleasant and genuine folks I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Especially Josh, that dude is hilarious, him and the rest of the crew always put a smile on my face and make me look forward to coming back
My 1st visit here was Nice/NASTY I really wish corporate would hire more help for this location. The staff is very pleasant but overwhelmed. I arrived at 7 a.m. No one was at the front desk. Amy informed me she's doing intake and other task. However she was able to check, reassuring after the 3 people n front of me and my family we could donate. 2 1/2 hours after registration, my daughter was called by accident. Another 1/2 passed my daughter was interviewed, seen the nurse. Cleared to donate, just to be to
Professional knowledgeable staff thanks for making my first time a good experience and thanks to the Senior staff for knowing what to do and how to find my "Good Hidden Vein" for a successful donation of plasma. The new inexperienced girl gave up on me in two minutes and was ready to send me home because she couldn't find a good vein due to her inexperience. Thank You
Very inattentive. Let people sit around waiting for service like they can't see they aren't busy. Listened to them gossip for 15 minutes around the corner. Update I have currently been here an hour after going through the initiation process for the second time. At this point I'm just seeing how ridiculously unprofessional they are. How long do I have to wait for receptionists to do their job? I'm not the only person waiting either. Called the number given. Robot. Talk about customer care. Listening to the r
Center is clean, staff and patients seem very fond and friendly to each other! As long as you show up hydrated & full and understand the process, it's a breeze! Showing up early before the line builds (Around 9-10 AM) is what got me in and out.
The appointment was for 9:30 am. There was a short line/wait. In all the whole visit was 2 hours. The Staff was friendly, efficient, and very thorough. The office was clean and easy to navigate. Thanks to Tasmnee (sorry about the spelling) who checked me in and thanks to Christina and Amelia for setting me up and discharging me for donation.
This nurse made my waiting time longer she said my bheavior was off so ridiculous had to wait extra hour because of this mean nurse they dont have alot of employees prob so they dont havw to pay them alot and the ceo or managers hold on to more money while patients wait ridiculously long
Great center to donate. Ever single team member I met was friendly especially Josh and Amber. A smile goes a long way. They were very thorough in their cleaning of the chairs after each patient. I would highly recommend this CSL plasma.
This company practices shady business tactics to exploit the poor. 5th donation was suppose to be $100 just to be told on 5th donation had to be done with one month to receive full amount, so instead they only gave $40 definitely won't recommend or continue donating because of how little they actually care about us the blood doner. let's not forget how much plasma actually goes for in any medical setting $100 is chump change and shows how little this company actually cares about donors and how they exploi
Nice staff, they do their best but the place can get super busy sometimes. So happy to help others and also get help with bills, would recommend!
I walked in & was immediately turned down because apparently every csl allows walk ins but this one then when I call to make an appointment nobody every answers when I finally did get through they didn't have no appointments till the end of next week there's always an issue & I don't understand how there's no more slots or walk in if every other location allows walk ins or appointments for the same week
Need to go back to appointments. They make it very difficult to donate because they are so severely understaffed. You have to wait 90 more minutes just to get screened. My future coming here will be limited.
Many of the workers are slow,, severely understaffed, facility is dirty. Wait is incredibly long for to workers not being in an ?efficient? mode.
This location is very understaffed but the staff that are there are so pleasant and helpful. They tell you how much you get immediately after finishing and its on the card just as quick. Environment is clean but I wish they would cut down on people having phone conversations and blasting videos/music.
If you don't show up on your next schedule date CSL takes $15.00 from you not understanding this is a 100% donation to help other people and not realizing people can't show up when CSL wants you too. My donation funds went from $60.00 to $45.00. How fair is that. This place doesn't care about the donors because if they did this wouldn't be happening. It's all about the donations
Been here for 1 1/2 hours already. Came early, I was told new patients move right through. As I watch person after person arrive and go right in line. I haven't even been assisted with creating my profile after all this time. Yet I am expected to wait patiently like My time is of no relevance. Apparently no new patients are needed at this location. Don't waste your time, they don't respect it!! All in all there were 5 people in line when I got there, my son whom can with me made six. One person sat on the s
Always clean, and everyone is nice. Edit: they pay you less, and there's a guy named William who is super rude. He rolled his eyes at me when I couldn't hear him.
I had the pleasure of working and meeting with Amber Simom at the CSL plasma center of Schenectady on October 10th 2024. This woman and employee is exceptional! She went above and beyond for me as a first time plasma doner. She made me feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. So much so that my anxiety about donating faded almost completely. She deserves acknowledgement so here it is! Thank you Amber! You made it exceptionally easy to not be so scared and making me laugh and smile went a long way when
For some background I've been to 3 different plasma clinics in other areas prior to donating here, so I have some experience with plasma and feel I can make a fair comparison. This location, like most plasma centers, has nice enough staff. The intake process took about as much time (3-4hrs) as other centers and I had no issues. However this location has to be the most understaffed I have visited. At other clinics (one of which was also CSL) I was able to fit my donations in before work in the morning or d
I've been going to CSL for a year and a half now and ha e donated 50 times currently. It's a great way to make some extra cash every month. I don't like needles and I get anxiety everytime it's time to get hooked up but the employees that have been there a long time are so good at sticking people that you barely feel it. 99% of the staff are so friendly. The place is very clean. The only issue is the long wait. I find I you go in around 4 or 5pm it's not as bad as if you go in around 9 or 10am. Once you've
I had a 12pm appointment. Waited 2+ hours. Then got told I wasn't going to be seen. Was told no when I asked if I can make a different appointment.
Very disappointed I went there this morning to donate for the first time and the lady at the desk talked me out of it. She said I have four people in front of you plan on being here five hours. You can wait if you want to, but I suggest you don't there's no staff.
This location continuously closes the doors before the the official closing time. Mostly no signs on windows or doors of a reason for closing before official closing time. This concern should be addressed due to clients not being informed as they should. Not all clients live local or come both donation days throughout the week. The bottom line is better communication.
It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get through screening. If you are number 6 or 7 in line. Often there is only 1 sometimes 2 screeners for donors. The now method of using kiosk for app holders to scan in actually takes longer to get donors ready. It also increases line skipping and people not going to the kiosks and causes arguments amongst the donors. It more be more efficient to use all three kiosks for non app holders. While the staff that does show up works hard it's becoming common for other worker
I waited four hours to be a new donor before just leaving. I was forgotten about and was taken in AFTER someone who came in after me. I left after realizing I would be there almost a full workday if I had waited for the doctor tget off of their break. I got there at 10:40am and I'm sure I wouldn't have left until 5pm. I understand being short-staffed, but I feel so insulted and was not apologized to until I told them I was leaving. Four hours of my time was wasted and I wasn't even close to being done.
I would love to donate plasma but I've been turned away multiple times now because I'm a new donor. Yet they let obvious drug addicts donate. Really cool ??????
I showed up to get information about this place and the lady at the front desk was rude and never helped what so ever. And just told me to come back on Monday. Never going back there.
This is the worst place to go . There waiting time sucks 4 hours waiting just to get my vitals. The way they run things its the worst program I ever been . There is way more to it than seeing a video and answering questions they don't tell you like every business they always hustle the poor people middle class . No one rich comes here trust me . It showes how much they can take advantage. Now when it comes to time Especially if you have things to do and they don't care. All they want is people to make their
I have been going there since November. They are great people there. They take great care of there donors. In the last few weeks they have been very short staffed. It takes me 30 min to get there and twice now it was a wasted trip as they were closed due to staffing. So I will call from now on before making the trip. An hour wasted again tonight. Lesson learned.
Expect to be harassed and threatened by the other donors. You are not safe here. Update 2/10/24: despite having hours on Saturday, office is closed with no notice because they don't have a nurse. Par for the course here because they like to run skeleton crews. Expect to have your time wasted like this too. Edit 2/12/24- currently inside, 630 pm and they are locking the front door despite being open till 7 denying donors that show up between 630-7 pm.
Always very clean, including the bathroom. The staff are always patient, friendly and courteous even while being verbally abused by irate donators - [and I see this way too often! :( ] I am grateful for another opportunity to make a little extra money while on my debt-free journey, so I appreciate what you do. Specifically, the great staff include (these are the people I have become familiar with): Joe, Alise, Brenda, Jen, Kate, Mohammed, and there are a few more that I cannot name, but would recognize th
Six intake booths only one is ever active so it's a two hour stand and wait each visit. a indian lady was on intake she was slow and rude to the people asking her questions. Also nobody ever knows how much money you'll get if u ask. I was told donate to see your payout after. Very unprofessionally run and they rob and hurt the poorest people
I had a wonderful experience. Every single staff member I spoke with was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. The actual donation was painless and I had zero issues following. The pre screening was lengthy, but I actually appreciated that as it settled any concerns knowing they were extra organized and attentive to who I was and my history to be sure the process was safe for me and anyone who may come in contact with my donation. The second time i came to donate I was turned away due t
I would love to donate plasma but I've been turned away multiple times now because I'm a new donor. Yet they let obvious drug addicts donate. Really cool ??????
Third time at t this place. First time they didn't find a vein ok. They tried both arms bruised so I was paid. Second time two weeks later still had signs of bruising so turned away ok. Third and last time went to answer questions couldn't had to see nurse. She checked my arms answered all her questions. Went back to answer the questions. Got in line another thirty minutes they took vitals weight and iron level then said I had to go back to nurse? Had to wait 45 minutes to see nurse she said I needed a ph
PREMA, and DONNA (the Nurse) were typical of the professionalism and courtesy among all the outstanding employees there, at the Schenectady Donor Center who made me feel welcome and streamlined the donor process, mak8ng it easy and painless. And, besides they are really nice people!!.
Great staff and usually does not take too long. Great way to add an extra $400+ to your monthly budget and help save lives at the same time.
This CSL Plasma location is wonderful! I started donating about a month ago to help myself earn some extra income during a time of financial need. I have a huge phobia of needles as well as high anxiety however I can not say enough good things about this location. The Staff is polite and friendly even when under high peak hours with tons of donners. They do remember your face as you continue to go in and I have noticed in my donation visits converse with the clients on a very professional but personal manne
I'll give 0 Stars to this cslplasma location and the sad thing is that it's the only one in Schenectady. You have staff there that take advantage of people and their time and also have unprofessional people working as nursing staff or whatever type of Staff they are! supposed to be a professional place! A little black African American girl I do not know her name but she was so unprofessional in the front desk receiving calls. Very disrespectful in a place like that you laughing at people that need help and
Went there super early in the morning waited in line way over 8 AM and got told they are not accepting new donors. I understand being short staffed, but not so short staffed you can't put up a sign or anything. Inquired about a job, the girl in front has absolutely no idea about anything. I'm a experienced phlebotomist/MA, couldn't even tell me if any jobs were open.
I've been donating for the past 4 years on the west coast and in Syracuse for the last 8 months. This facility is one of the best CSL facilities I've been in. It's extremely clean, bright and friendly. Unlike the East Syracuse CSL, the staff at this location actually says thank you for donating and makes you feel like you are important. This facility is well organized and it's staff is attentive. If you have never donated plasma, and are thinking about starting; I highly recommend going here for a positive
Went in slightly nervous but everyone was great and I got 50+ because it was my first time took about 4 hours
I had donated 3 times with no problem. The fourth time they had absolutely no record of me, spent over two hours making me wait at every possible moment and then ultimately decided I couldn't donate because I had a freakin' scratch on my shoulder. Never going back now.
They would not allow my friend to donate because she had a history of drug use from over 14 years ago. So when she was honest with the nurse the nurse kicked her out in front of her daughter and her family and humiliated her. Come to find out the state ordinance is 3 to 5 months so that was straight discrimination and they have a population of Schenectady drug addicts going in there to donate their plasma just to get money to go out and cop drugs yet a single mother who goes in there with the clean system w
The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. But the institution itself needs to hire way more people. It is ridiculous that I have to be here 2 hours + to donate. Making it almost impossible to donate. Before it would take maybe and hour and fifteen minutes from arrival to departure. It is insane how long I have to wait! Really making me not want to come and donate.
Everything was goin great until this one white lady with red colored hair decided she didn't wanna be at work and started bein very disrespectful and even had the nerve to call me a monkey lol unprofessional for no reason at all quit if you dnt like ur job
Really great place everyone is super friendly & the woman amber who helped me to create my profile was so helpful & knowledgeable i appreciate the time she took to answer my questions and explain things. The place is also very clean & up kept.
Great service, great phlabotmist and staff. The waiting room is decent the punctuality is decent. Wish they informed you of all medical issues that could permanent or temporarily defer you from donating earlier. Only issue I have really is that there isn't a seperate time told for when last donatators are accepted.
Facilities are clean and staff is friendly, however 50% of the time there's a ridiculously long wait. The center is closed for various reasons almost once a week so call before you go. It is nice to see how many patients your plasma helps on the app even though I think it's mostly sold directly to big pharma. Ultimately they just need more staff, they only use 50% of the donation stations they have.
If I could give a "0"star review, I would. It's a shame that those of going through financial hardship have to be subjected to wait times of up to 3 HOURS before even sitting in a donation chair, and then be treated rudely by staff upon draw. I'd rather starve. Avoid this place at all costs.
The front staff...could be more pleasant. They all should share equal training with informative detailed information about the donation process in its entirety. The friendliest staff is the nursing staff and donation staff. Keep in mind this is great and also that this is how we fight racism. Having all of those whom oppose to unity drink the glory of melanin.
Employees are always nice and professional, but man, the wait times are killer. I'm guessing the company can't get enough employees because it isn't willing to pay people better.
I just left Csl plasma because the lines are ridiculous. Staff are overworked and Underpaid so the turnover is out of control. It brings down morale slows lines and loses lots of potential plasma for this company. Treat the staff better they intern will treat customers better you will then have less nutrition. I'm sending an email to other plasma companies inviting them to the area because they would crush the competition.
Unable to make appointments, you just have to go there and hope they are staffed enough to take you.
Initial trip there today ended in extreme disappointment !! I was turned down as a potential donor because of where I was deployed in the military in 1983. Notice to any Veterans considering this as an opportunity to help a good cause. They take all kinds of personal info and in a video they tell you your personal data CAN NOT BE CONSIDERED SECURE WITHIN THEIR SYSTEM. Only to learn later in the process you can be " Deferred as a donor ". They need to be more upfront about qualifying criteria before they tak
I've been donating for around 1.5 years. The staff is great. It's a fun upbeat atmosphere. The process is simple and takes me around 50 min to donate.
Amber the check in person was very professional. Very knowledgeable. Very friendly
Wait times are absolutely outrageous, can't continue to blame short-staffing. Not everyone has 3 hrs to stand in line every single visit.
Went today as a new donor. Staff was friendly and informative, intake is long and tedious so be prepared.... actually bloodraw was not bad approximately 30-40 min however I was a little out of it after....paid 100$ promptly will be going back
My first time going there it took forever doing everything so they could put me in their system but it was worth it because I was able to donate plasma their staff was very nice and friendly .
i see people reviews and truly donations shouldn't be based on how much money you get but saving lives although they do compensate you this is still America people. the staff are really respectful and a lot of these reviews can be obscene and personal at times.
The first-of-its-kind (in the Capital Dist.) plasma donation center seems to be doing a good job. Screening was done within the time window they offered. Facility was spotless. All staff were cognizant of procedures. Kudos to the phlebotomists, who hooked me up and disconnected me with minimal pain/discomfort. I look forward to donating here often.
I think what CSL PLASMA does is a wonderful thing but also there are times where the is like a long line and only one person to check you in and that does cause stress so if there is away to fix the line issue then everything else is wonderful
This place is getting worse by the second lie about coupon u can't use after returning told they scan when I complete donation 3staff I asked for lady tells me oh we don't except those anymore thanks for wasting time try not to lose your steady income this is worse then dss appoint wait made crack heads they can't be drug testing and security now then if u been going new donors get paid double get to bumb u in line no more raffles Greedy and greedier look at the money they make of that plasma Rich aren't do
in order to donate plasma you will need an actual ssc and dl and a piece of mail with your name on it? the process takes up to 4hrs, don't be fooled by the other reviews , these ppl are not as nice as you think, also they pay little money for saving other ppls lives. anyhoot, keep your plasma and avoid developing other issues behind it. they first check your anemia level, (so if you traveled all the way there and you're anemic guess what? you don't get to be seen without medical clearance)they ask you every
It's a good establishment the people that are good they're quick you don't spend too much time waiting unless you're seeing a nurse and then that's an all-day process but it's worth it and it's good for you and it's great for life that's their motto
As a new donor I have to say the process is very streamlined and well executed. The human factor is a bit lacking as staff are a bit aloof and congregate to themselves during periods during the process. There should be a TV or something mounted for entertainment as this can take an hour or so just for the plasma draw. You just lay there pumping your fist trying not to be bored out of your mind. I go back because if there is a chance in anyway, shape or form I may help another person I will. The reimbursem
Tim, Darcy, Jackie beautiful staff continue to shine bright there lot of Love and thankful for you!!!??although I wasn't able to donate it was a blessing to come there with wonderful people !!! Great staff!!!
CSL plasma on State Street takes dirty drug addicts in active addiction and allows them to donate with drugs in their system my sister works at new choices and she told me all about it but my friend who is a clean single mother with no drugs in her system and no diseases was not allowed to donate because she hasn't passed so I just want everyone to know that the blood that you are getting from CSL plasma has drugs in it.
They close for no reason! Today at 1;30 cuz they felt like it. Staff rude. Usually 4 hours in and out. 4 hours!!! Surrounded by craziness and rude staff 4 hours don't let them tell you otherwise
CSL, Helping Schenectady stay drunk and high just one more day. Thanks CSl! Now they might not break into my car.
Place is alright. Can run really smoothly on non-busy days. Also, the place is closed on 6/22/21 and will reopen 6/23/21. Just in case anyone plans to come in on this day.
I'm in here more than I'd like to admit but it's never been a problem for them to find my vein chick with the name tag TARA STUCK THE NEEDLE THROUGH MY VEIN everytime I pumped the flow stopped I could feel the burning in my arm honestly upset me and really wouldn't want her near me ever with a needle
Their times are crazy they keep saying their closed when their suppose to be open . Yes their short staffed but they need to find a way to post actual hours so people dont show up for no reason
Incredibly slow and seemed disorganized. I sat in the chair without being hooked up for 30+ minutes despite a 1:1 ratio of donors and phlebotomists.
I personaly have not had good luck the miss communication low staff and always have an excuse for me not to donate after i drive an hour away .
I was going to be a first time donor and was turned away because there was no nurse working that day. Terrible first impression.
I came in and visited this center. There was a line, but it went pretty quick.
Absolutely wonderful experiences here. The staff is very helpful and kind and they know what they're doing.
Wonderful way to help the world ?? ?? Dedicated individuals with a direction of saving lives! Very positive staff!
The people that work in the front are rude and never says hello and are lazy
I have tried 2 times to be a first time donor and keep getting turned away
Very friendly staff seem to love what they do.
Thanx for great service and working hard!
Donate plasma save a Life Staff there is great
Very friendly staff and a short wait every time I visit
great customer service provided
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
