At the end of March the staff decided I wasn't collecting quick enough and said they were going to unhook me halfway through. However at that point they left me hooked up on the machine while it wasn't gathering any plasma and seemingly just shooting a painful pressure into my arm. From understanding there are different levels of this pressure that they alter up and down and it felt way too full blast. They have these new machines that I don't think they're very knowledgeable of or have too many undertraine
I've been going here on and off for about 4 years. Just expect your experience to be about 2 to 3 hours every time, the employees to be rude and uncaring mostly. Like sparkle today. Bitching the whole time. Basically going as slow as she can and looking for a reason to argue. She don't want to be here either!! Like the worker said it's our choice to be here, so don't complain if you are here and don't like it. Bio life and octoplasma are definitely on my mind after today.
Workers always stick and stay having attitude problems with the customers. The workers are very disrespectful. They poke your finger like they drunk. They stick your arm when hooking you up like they trying to get you deferred. They blame everything others. They will do something and hopes nobody saw them or finds out. Some of the workers are racist and pick and choose who they want to poke for the day. Not enough money giving out to put up with a lot. People comes in sick and smells bad and bed bugs someti
Sparkle did an amazing job at poking my arm. If I could have her poke me every time that would be great. She's one of the better ones that I've had here and I've had some pretty bad ones that blew the vein out on my arm before.
Not all but most of the nurses are rude and incompetent at their job. Too many times have I been treated with nothing but disrespect for zero reason. Just because a person hates their job gives them zero right to take it out on anyone else.
They're acting like they're trying to close up. Not taking in any new donors on the floor. Seats are open and have been cleaned as well as equipment. Yet no one is being seated. Multiple seats are open. And 10 plus people are in line. I'm in front and have been here for over 30 minutes unmoved. So. Moneys money. But at what cost. You know?!
Shannon was super friendly and was my favorite person there. It's not the smoothest place in the world but there's people here who are trying.
Lines are ridiculous at all times. It's never clean. The staff might as well be partying at a night club when they poke you. The pay they offer is nothing compared to how many hours you will wait in line. The atmosphere does make you feel safe enough to trust someone poking you with a needle! Disgusting!
I got sick from one of their machines and got deferred through no fault of my own for almost 3 weeks and than had to wait in a huge line after I was 4th in line. This place has to seriously quit putting profit over people! When the new place opens up, I'll be going there instead. Update: once again today only to find out they had two people working in the front and two people working in the in the back and we're understaffed with a mile long line and was told I would just have to be patient, I left. That
CSL is absolute garbage. Unprofessional, disrespectful and worthless. I decided to try BioLife and it was a night and day difference. Their process is way better (appointment system rather than just lining people up and having to wait 4-hours), the workers are more professional and actually know what they're doing, and they are al in all more respectful. After i show up at my scheduled appointment time, I am in and out in a little over an hour. CSL needs to take a note from them, because its shameful. Do
Whoever on vitals today was super slow. I was standing in the first line (vital line) for over half an hour with about 9 people in front of me.
I waited 4 and a half hours to donate. There was no staff on and the management did absolutely nothing to help, couldn't even find them if you wanted. Do not think I'll return to this location I never even leave reviews but this was that bad.
I have attended CSL Plasma on 28th street, in Grand Rapids for 5+ years. I have always been courteous, respectful, understanding, and compassionate to the employees. Even through 3-4 hour wait times, when short staffed, or at times they were extremely busy. I understand that they have long and exhausting days dealing with a variety of different people, on top of maintaining job performance. However, today, I did not receive any of the same respect. I went in to donate around 10:30. Somewhere between 11am-
I recommend Sr. Phlebotomist "Sparkle" she is an amazing person. Very helpful and kind. She makes the day even better. Always.
I had Sparkle poke me today and she is excellent. I didn't even feel the needle go in. She is definitely an asset to CSL
Sparkle was great!!!! She was able to explain to me in detail about the machine I was on and why it kept beeping. Very nice, great smile
Sr. Phlebotomist Sparkle is incredible. She's so funny and does her job efficiently. She's awesome don't lose her csl
Sparkle is the best!! Nette is great as well!! Love whn they are working
My husband was very happy because they usually have a hard time finding his veins. But today the aide he had, found it on the first poke. He was very pleased!!! The staff are always friendly and helpful. That really helps to make donating a positive experience, which keeps people coming back to donate again! I really appreciate the way you do things here at CSL Plasma. Keep up the great work, and people will keep on donating! Making lives better and possibly even helping to save lives, plus you get paid
The front staff just entirely to chit chatty they could get there people a lot faster if they did less talking I've literally witnessed a full 10/15 min conversation with the line wrapped around the building I understand we have a choice on coming here but shouldn't you guys be thinking about the time we have to consume we have kids to get home to some of us are feeding our kids coming here . And the wait time should not be like it's your first time donating people spend a 1hr maybe 2 hours just waiting to
The overall experience is't too bad most of the year, and even when it's not great it's still fine if you really need the money. Lines really range from 30 minutes to 3 hours, the longer times being more common between November and January (people trying to get/pay off Christmas, I imagine). New donors always go to the front of the line. Always. Doesn't matter if there's 6 new donors in a row, and you've been next in line for 45 minutes, you have to wait. Also sometimes it seems like there will be nearly a
I would give zero stars. This lady Gina does not know what she's doing. Smh. Now this guy is deferred bc She's incompetent. That man may really need the money and she over there laughing about it.. smh
Sr. Phlebotomist Sparkle was amazing!!! She game me grate instructions & I didn't even feel the needle!!!
The?Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?is a comprehensive civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability.?It ensures equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in various aspects of life, including employment, public accommodations, transportation, and state and local government services. U might get sued 4 violating this law. This what happens when u allow women n a position of power. Get all n thier feelings over the dumbest reasons.
SR. Phlebotomist Sparkles Always taking good care of her Customers with smiles and when she poked me I didn't even feel it
Standing outside of this place and the video that is representing this place on Google tells you everything u need to know, people don't work and the clients coming in and out make it look like a trap house
The Phlebotomist Sparkle was able to stick my arm when no one else was able. I greatly appreciate that. Another great thing is that I don't have to set up an appointment - I can just walk in. I am changing this back to a five star rating because it only took CSL a week to get rid of their no bag/backpack policy. Thank you for promptly reversing a poor decision.
Very good experience. Sr. Pleb Sparkle was super kind and when she stuck me and I didn't feel a thing.
As a new donor, being told to watch a short video and then I'll get my physical shortly after...only to be here for an hour and a half, still no physical. This place is only here to waste your time.
I was promised by the Dr that i would be reimbursement for making me wait almost 4 hours. I was supposed to have a little bruise on my arm looked at, and was I was mislabeled in the computer. That took almost 4 hours! But once the manager spoke to me he said letting me cut past the last 3 people was enough reimbursement for my time. I was lied too and disrespected. This is the second time this happened within 3 weeks!
I been going here for abt 6 donations now and ever since I met Sparkle her customer service has been out through the roof that when I leave CSL I just gave good vibes all around. I thank her for her poking skills and just overall making the experience better.
I've called at least ten times each on multiple different days with zero answers. Terrible customer service.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I have nothing but issues with this place. They continue to mess up my arms when I try to donate, and get an attitude with me when THEY mess up. I make sure to eat a good meal before I go to donate and I drink plenty of water through the day, plus the day before I go. I will not be coming back to this location and do not recommend anyone to go here.
Went to donate today, and was poorly mistreated by the manager, so I chose to let my husband cut in front of me to avoid allowing her to even touch me during vital check. She then proceeded to run her mouth by stating to my husband "what she don't want to deal with me, and my husband said no, she said that's fine she can just go home. She then waited for the next available booth to call next, my husband let me go first. She then screamed ma'am no, you can now go to end of line, when in fact I was first in l
April is usually who sticks me when she is working on the day I come in, and she Always has a smile and joke of the day. She is efficient and knowledgeable and I enjoy the interaction. Cynthia is the one who disconnected me today. She smiles, sings and dances her way through her job, she's professional and fun! Its nice to see the staff smiling and giving the personal touch.
Today I went to donate I was 11th in line.I sat and watched 3 staff members at the nurse station check in everyone ahead of me poking fingers n doing blood pressure checks but never thought to change there gloves.I'll never go back again then wen finally I made it to the back they did not have the machine hooked up correctly so instead of taking plasma they were taking blood they then unhooked me without returning my blood I'm just all types of confused.but one thing I'm not confused about is I know wen w
Horrible experience and very unprofessional I've been trying to reach the building and no one is answering the phones.
I wasn't going to post anything, however I do love the staff at CSL and I only allow certain people to poke me. There was a young woman named Holly who poked me two weeks ago and caused my veins to blow on both arms and then gave me such a nasty comment when I said it's never happened with the other staff she says maybe donating isn't for everybody, honey with a nasty attitude, I would not go to her again. I will stick to my usual ppl that know me and I'm usually pretty nice to everybody that works there. S
Forgot her name but she's a short black female I believe one of the managers she's the fastest in csl.but for the rest of you get like her. And another thing pick up y'all damn phones in the morning ain't even that busy. AT ALLLL
Very under staffed, most the employees are extremely rude, the shorter older lady doesn't know what she's doing at all, I honestly believe she makes her own numbers up when it comes to taking vitals. The entire process takes way to long, longer then it should, This place needs new employees and a better system put together to accommodate the donors, CSL is supposed to be about saving lives but I don't get that feeling from any of the employees that work here and ESPECIALLY the older shorter lady, it may be
Used to be a donor at the Southfield location off Greenfield, and I gotta tell you Wyoming CSL is the worst experience to donate, long lines, short staffing, and rude management & employees, they can't poke veins to save your life, they sent me to medical 3 out of the 4 times I visited, and today after I completed my donation I waited on my chair for almost a half hour before they undid the needle and sent me home. Net who works there is the biggest B word with capitals I've ever witnessed, if they can't ge
I've never had any issues coming here up until there was a unfortunate issue with one of the machines that wasn't properly setup still got paid nonetheless but couldn't donate for a month till my blood was replenished an unfortunate scenario however the staff were friendly and as long as you're respectful and friendly and have a positive attitude it does make a difference. There are staffing issues but that's to be expected all in all I do appreciate the staff and workers who put themselves out there to hel
The pay is decent but lines are always really long. At least the staff is pleasant. I don't think I have been a day when Cynthia wasn't there. She does the best arm wraps.
Staff doesn't listen to you if you tell them that you have tiny rolling veins and need a baby needle. They don't care and will jab you with the big one and blow your arms out. Never coming back again. The women that run the bays are rude and would rather chit chat than do their job.
Don't trust the busy meter it says not to busy but the line was out the door 1hr and 30 min standing in line
Ok visit men?s room had no toilet paper in any stall and this was just 2 hours into the day how is that acceptable
Sparkle was awesome, very friendly and caring
None of the workers seem to have a pulse or sense of urgency at all, if they put in as much energy into their jobs as they do gossiping about other employees they might actually get you out of there in less than 3 hours. There are five bays for check in, only one to two are used consistently. There are three bays for donating, only two are used consistently. Workers are yawning while poking you with a needle. It's embarrassing.
I went in to see if I was eligible to donate. The first interaction I had was great. She checked my ID and SSN quickly. The second interaction was the opposite to the first. The first lady asked if someone would do my vein check and the man spoke up with "I'll do it, I'm bored". He came over to be grabbed my arm without saying anything or explaining what he was doing. The first thing he says is "Why would you even start". Excuse me? It's people like me giving you job security. Never going again.
Sr. Phlebotomist Sparkle is on spot! Super nice!
I've been coming here for about a year and have made over 100 donations. Sometimes you have to wait longer than other times, which means standing in line listening to other donors complain about how long it's taking. That's a them problem and not a CSL problem. I've never met an unfriendly employee. I've never had a bad experience. To anyone who leaves a bad review because you have to wait: no one is forcing you to be there. Otherwise, just stay quiet and wait like everyone else.
Sparkle is such an amazing worker she's very patient , very kind and has such a mothering vibe she's makes the process so easy .
The lines and wait times can be long at times but staff is always friendly and helpful. Cynthia is one of my favorites. She works hard and treats everyone with kindness and respect.
Most of the staff are good at there job but that old short lady is one of the most petty people you will ever meet she intentionally sabotaged me from being able to donate just because I don't like her she deserves to be fired but has enough seniority that it won't happen
This is ridiculous I have a slow heart due to my exercise level and when I happened to go into the doctors that's exactly what they told now I can't donate because of it like I'm sorry I'm healthy than you nurse why are stopping me from saving lives now imma go donate blood at the red cross screw these people they sell each unit of plasma for than 700$+ people they are ripping you off
Today I was on andCole was by his self sticking . I feel like he did an amazing job at keeping up the flow on his on. Love Miss Cynthia she is awesome super quick to make sure I got wrapped up and out of there
Went I went in I was not even acknowledged for at least 15 min. And I was standing right in front of the counter. I actually sat and waited because I wanted to see if the girl behind the counter was going to do her job. But she stood there pressing buttons and doing other things. And then got involved with some kind of personal conversation with someone there. I was finally helped. But overall what I noticed was an extreme lack of staff available to handle the amount of people coming through trying to
Dekita and Yessi are wonderful woman they do there job and are always smiling I want to thank them for there hard work from Donald jones
Never had a bad experience here. Even when I needed several extra interviews because of a tattoo and updated medical prescription. The lines are usually taken care of pretty quick even on busy days and even with my slow blood flow I get out of here in around an hour every time.
Worst location I have ever been too. Their machine had an error and the vitals worker decided to try again right after the cuff had been on my arm for a minute straight. Read my pulse as 137 and then refused to read it again without waiting an additional 2 hours because at least 7 people were at medical. Absolutely no way my pulse was 137 and the girl working agreed with me but said there was nothing she could do. Everyone here is unprofessional and obviously not trained well enough. Switching to bio life a
It's not that bad if u got patience and the workers are good people.its not that bad to wait but some of the people they let donate sometimes don't look like they should and the workers are overwhelmed . Understandable but when ur waiting the look at u like there don't care how long u wait and don't get mad or voice ur concerns they will defer u quick so get there early pack some food blanket head phones and expect to sleep over lol just saying it can b slow.
Every time I come to donate I am greeted with a smile and always great conversation. The lady Cynthia is amazing she is always so nice to me and other that I've noticed she's always smiling. She a wonderful lady.
Phlebotomist Got rude with me cause she wanted to get out of there, it was 5pm.. then she got even more rude when I make a comment about how I've sat there for multiple hours to donate and I wanted to get out of there and go home also.. this is the type of behavior that triggers people. Some of the csl staff need to work on there bedside manners if they want donors to be more understanding of them and there work situations.. rudeness was totally uncalled for or warranted..
My name is Jessica and there is a women that works here who is just Amazing Mrs Cynthia keep up the great work :) what you have gone thru your an inspiration keep spreading that love and keep on smiling haji is one of the greatest guys I have ever met and he's great at his job
They literally never answer the phone??
I only care for 2 workers in the building. The lines are ridiculous. 2 to 3 hr waiting in line to still have to donate. They never have workers. Biolife is much quicker and cleaner plus they know how to keep their employees. Do not donate here. Choose another place. Your patience and waiting is not valued as a donor here. The managers are snobby. They have not been taking new donors because of their short staff.
Excellent staff! Hats off to them and their patience! Ppl standing in lines for long periods is to be expected during a pandemic while every company seeks to fill the loss of employees! The client's at this location need to be a bit more understanding! Other than that awesome ppl, location, and staff!
Sparkle is a patient & caring phlebotomist
Staff is always pleasant and I believe to the best they can with what they have. My biggest complaint is the wait. You never know what kind of wait your walking into. I dont have the time to block out 4 hours of my day just for plasma donation. You guys are understaffed/mismanaged and it shows. Allow donors to choose an appointment time.
It's different every time for this place and yeah people do get upset when they travel and then get turned away but the way the staff does it is rude and obnoxious and that isn't a way to talk to people. The worst is the custemor service because everybody is not trained properly. I had one female treat me like a kid and I am a 31 year old man, I am no kid. If this place was properly staffed and properly trained it would get more stars. Also all the staff members do there job differently and that isn't right
The employees have all been friendly. The wait is insane compared to other places. Only one person doing vitals so you're waiting at least an hour.Very short staffed lacking supplies and a bit dirty.
I hate it when people complain about the wait... I've had a few ladies tell me lot of times they're short staffed due to call-ins. It happens... First of all, no one is being forced to be there and wait. So if you're going to complain, go home... Those ladies (& a couple gentlemen) BUST THEIR BUTTS!!! And always manage to get the job done. I've overheard some saying they haven't eaten, or taken a break all day. So people who willingly come in, and complain about waiting, or there only being 1-2 screeners, o
Staff is very friendly. Never had a bad experience.
This place is ok with paying out, pays decently well vs biolife. However the walk ins is tricky either you get lucky and go straight in with in 20 min or get stuck when it's busy for an hour waiting at least. They don't have enough machines to meet with demands, staff seems unorganized in the back and there a rift with the front staff. some of the people in the in front are rude and ignore you when it gets busy . Would be better if you can schedule your own time frame so that you can get out within an hour.
At least this place answered their phone. However they weren't very helpful. I asked if my medications I'm taking would make me ineligible and she said I have to come in. Why can't this be answered over the phone? I don't have time to waste just to find out I am ineligible and could've found out before coming in. I understand there are many things you look for but I wanted to know if right away I wouldn't be able to donate if it was due to medications I'm taking. I guess you don't need plasma bad enoug
The staff is better and working harder to make improvements to help with the speed up from delays. You can never know when someone is going to call in. so if they are short staffed just relax and let them do their job. no point in getting mad. overall i like it there and glad to be a donor here.
Staff is always friendly and attentive! Miss Cynthia took great care of me today! She's always super friendly and quick to help when needed .
I've been going here since this location opened and I have to say that I do recommend it as long as you have patience. The staff is great. Only issue is that some people just complain about the line.
Cynthia, Dakitha, and Hajie are some great people i dealt with. They do great jobs. Energetic and good convo. I never have an issue with my pokes and they make sure im okay. Appreciate the great work. Keep it up!!!
Love the staff and location however the wait is too long. Waiting to get into a chair for more than 20 minutes is not worth the pay. It's hard to believe that people actually wait 2 hours. I see the line and walk right back out. An apt system would make it more appealing.
I will say that the process to donate is pretty long. But then again, it's essentially free money so I can't really complain. I dealt with latonia (hope I'm spelling her name right) multiple times since my first Visit/donation and I honestly enjoy her. She's always personable/working hard/ and super easy to talk to when I had questions about the whole donating process.
The staff there works incredibly hard to accommodate the donors. They are constantly moving to Keep things flowing as smooth as possible. Keep in mind there are call ins and ratio they have to abide by. Just because you see open beds doesnt mean they have staff to use them. They prolong or miss out on breaks, deal with being short staffed, and also have to train which takes time. The staff is great, and things are improving, and I will continue to donate there.
Used to be great but now everytime I go it takes 3 hours for the donation process, while it only takes 30 minutes of actively donating. I end up waiting in line for 2 and a half hours. Sometimes due to a lack of employees but usually because the employees take their time and spend more time socializing than doing their work! I would definitely go to biolife!
28th Street location is under staffed to the degree that it doesn't really matter if you show up when they open or in the middle of the day, it's going to take at least 3 hours. Which is fine but if you have somewhere to be it's inopportune. I hope they get more staff.
It's absolutely ridiculous that NEW DONOR'S have to sit in a waiting area for 4 to 6 hour's without being seen!!!! The doctor/nurse only ask (five) questions and take vitals. There is no way that should take 6 hours to complete. I've observed the doctor / nurse sitting in the office doing nothing & lollygagging with other staff.... BioLife is the place to be. You're in and out within 2 to 3 hours and that includes new Donors. I'm going to make it my business to call corporate and start recording footage of
Machines need to be recalibrate, get turned away do to high pulse, went to my personal doctor right after, a 5 min drive, had them take my pulse and blood pressure 3 times and each time it was lower then tested at this center. Either the workers aren't trained or the machines are highly out of date on maintenance
A woman picks up and begins to answer my questions. She stops half way hangs up and takes the phone off the hook so it stays "busy". CLEARLY NOT A GREAT BUSINESS CHOICE. perhaps I was alittle overwhelming with my 3 questions but she was very unprofessional.
Last time I went was a few weeks ago and they messed my arm up so bad it's still bumped up and some of the staff are extremely rude it's a horrible place do not recommend going there
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
