Freedom Plasma Roanoke, VA

I have no idea what they're using as their background checker, but I got married 7 YEARS AGO and my name has been changed and updated for the last 7 years... so my social didn't match my married name. Apparently a marriage certificate won't count to show my unmarried name, a matching social, and my name change. My drivers license won't count to show my name change. And my digital SSC from the social security administration website won't count for anything either.

When I got there for my appointment they told me only 2 chairs were available and it was a long wait due to system updates. I could either put my name on the waiting list of about 13 people or I could come back in a couple of hours. I had the girl reschedule me for 2 hours later when the machines should be up and running. My second time after coming there twice to setup the donation and doing the physical wasting a couple hours they said they could not stick me they didn't even make an attempt or even touch me to check my views. This place is a joke. There always seems to be an issue. I was denied my appointment because they did not have the supplies. They told me they were calling everyone that had an appointment at 9am on, to reschedule. It was 8:57 already, and I never received a call or email. My dr only recommends that I donate no more than once a week. So that is only a 45$ pay for my plasma. For a product that the company gets 2500 to 5000$ for. It is not worth my time or health risk. I told them I would donate for 100$ witch is their promotion rate. They said no. I will NOT be donating plasma in the near future.

Really nice staff. You'll be in and out before you know it. Compared to other places I have donated before, the donation process takes half or a third of the time it normally would take. With their new machines, I can complete a donation within 30 mins and am usually in and out in a little over an hour! Its a far cry from the 2 to 3 hours I spent donating at a different facility. Highly recommend!

Nice staff. Everyone makes sure you are informed about the entire process. Guy that put the needle in was freaking amazing I almost didn't even know he had done it he was that good ?? also the girl that did my psysical was pretty darn cute too. There is always an issue at this place. I've been going for probably close to six months and I think maybe one visit was issue free. Several of my visits, after signing in on the kiosk, I was overlooked and never called. Several times after getting in a chair other people seated after me were stuck. One time I sat after I had finished for 25 minutes before I was taken off the machine. My visit last week took close to two hours due to their lacking in the logistical department. Will Not be back. Phlebotomist OMNIA intentionally stuck me roughly, or she is just not a very experienced phlebotomist. I informed her that the initial stick was rough so my arm was sore. She continued to repeatedly ask if my arm was sore as my donation continued to be interrupted by the machine due to the way i had been stuck and I continued to tell her that from the initial stick my arm is sore so every time she adjusts the needle it's sore. I have had nothing but a good experience. When your hours changed I had to stop coming because of my work hours but I didn't go anywhere else. I came back last week and Devin is an awesome Phlebotomist. His personality and knowledge are impeccable. I use to work at a plasma center so I know how the business works. The Freedom team I have personally came across are very friendly and know their job. Great place here!

Starting coming here when the first opened and it was great! Six months later it has become a vastly different experience; the original staff has all but left and the quality of their services has definitely suffered. It's sad to see because the employees are amazing. The hours have also changed to the point where those with jobs can no longer donate. Hopefully if things change up we will return

Friendly staff and superior attention to every detail. I have donated at multiple centers in the past but freedom has one thing that the other places lack, good staffing. All the way up to the administration that is usually just background noise at other facilities. At freedom, everyone is your friend, and that just makes the place seem all the more comfortable. Was 3 stars now zero if I could. Ever since I watched the management hound out a perfectly good and chill employee during my time I have been unable to pass my due to my pulse. It's loud and stressful. When I ask for advice the lady said she didn't know anything. They give out a silly flyer that is disrespectful. Freedom Plasma acts in a professional manner when donating plasma at this center. All staff members are very professional in their work place. All staff members care about there patients that donate regularly and the compensation money I get is good. I can only say good things about Freedom Plasma and all there employee staff members. Great work team and keep up the smiles on your faces.

Haven't gone yet, but 90 percent of the bad reviews sound petty. The positive so far, they see you in a timely manner, they're very friendly and professional and helpful. Sounds like they follow guidlines and know what they're doing. If I ever need life saving blood, I hope it comes from here where they screen you very carefully to ensure safety.

I've only donated twice, but the employees there have been some of the nicest people I've ever met honestly. The check-in process is also very easy. I do wish there weren't so many questions to answer after having donated already, but I understand why they're there. Overall, great place.

I Rate this establishment a 5/5. From signing in your first time to getting stuck my experience has been A1 so far. My veins are very tricky and hard to pin point the accurate spot to poke me. If you get it filled out exactly as one manager wants, another will turn around and tell you they can't accept it. First, I must say I am very impressed with Freedom's facilities and the efficiency of the appointment and screening process. All of the phlebotomists are hardworking and vigilant to each donor's needs. I also must say that Kadijah is my favorite. She always takes great care of me! The center is very clean, the staff is friendly and it runs much more efficiently than the center on Franklin Rd. If you haven't visited this center you must give it a try, especially if you are tired of waiting 30-60 minutes to even check in at the plasma center on Franklin Rd. Not sure what the deal is with this place. I have been donating at one place for over a year and decided to give this place a try. Big mistake. I spent two days tring to get registered ony to be told because I had neck surgery 3 years I had to get my pcp to fill out a form stating that a dura mater graph wasn't used on me. Then I could donate. My pcp told me to take it to the surgeon that did surgery. After two business days I get it back from surgeon but instead of filling out there form and signing it s

Today I made a 2:45 appointment drove an hour and a half one way got there before they close at 3 & was not allowed to donate. Having to schedule an appointment every time you donate is pointless

I am interested in becoming a plasma donor and have made calls to this organization to make an appointment. They don't answer the phone. Their voicemail message states that every call is important and yet they don't return calls after you leave a message. Terrible customer service.

The worst experience I've ever had I drove an hour and a half to get there. They made me go back and get my Social Security card. When I walk back in the door they tell me they cannot draw plasma from me cause I had tattoos on cover my arms, most unprofessional place I've ever been to.

I was told I was not able to donate because of a medication I take which was not listed in the donor handbook I was given to read, could have saved me a lot of time if they had listed all meds that could cause deferal, I wasted an hour and when I went into the exam room I was kept there for 40 mins, asked a total of three questions and talked for three mins, the rest of the time the lady was typing away, not sure what she was typing but as soon as I mentioned my recovery and MAT medicine the vibe was differ
