I have no idea what they're using as their background checker, but I got married 7 YEARS AGO and my name has been changed and updated for the last 7 years... so my social didn't match my married name. Apparently a marriage certificate won't count to show my unmarried name, a matching social, and my name change. My drivers license won't count to show my name change. And my digital SSC from the social security administration website won't count for anything either.
Beware of any allergies***** SEVERE reaction, allergies ignored. It's time I have to say something because this is the 2nd time. I want to say most of the staff there that work the floor are kind souls. I've been donating here for about 3 months now. Despite a couple other incidents I enjoyed the energy of a couple people there and the fact Rick made things right. But today was just wrong. I have an allergy to latex and Iodine. Latex is worse than iodine. The facility knows this and since the first inciden
When I got there for my appointment they told me only 2 chairs were available and it was a long wait due to system updates. I could either put my name on the waiting list of about 13 people or I could come back in a couple of hours. I had the girl reschedule me for 2 hours later when the machines should be up and running. I went back and they still only had 2 chairs they could use for donations so I left. I wasted my gas and time twice to not be able to donate on a $95 day. This is very disrespectful o
I have had no problems donating with grifols in the past. I had went there for years. My firat time donating with freedom I had no problems. My second time after coming there twice to setup the donation and doing the physical wasting a couple hours they said they could not stick me they didn't even make an attempt or even touch me to check my views. Their excuse is that they were flat. When I asked my family doctor about that he said that's impossible if they were flat I would be dead. I feel I should be co
Freedom was good, but ever since Grifols came in, management has taken a turn. I have not been able to donate this whole week due to a technical issue and there is no communication about a resolution or compensation.
I would like to shout out Zack at freedom plasma! Zack always goes the extra mile and above and beyond to make my experience a good experience! Keep being awesome Zack you make the difference in this organization ?? ?? Thank you for being a great person ??
After being told since yall opened ?ow terrible grifolds is they decided to partner with them smh. It's went all the way down hill guess we will be going to biolife, grifolds sucks goback toregualr freedom plasma if yall wanna be open another year
This place is a joke. There always seems to be an issue. I was denied my appointment because they did not have the supplies. They told me they were calling everyone that had an appointment at 9am on, to reschedule. It was 8:57 already, and I never received a call or email. This is just one of the many examples this place has to offer. I shouldnt feel like I have to worry about my car in the parking lot because there are so many sketchy people just sitting in front of the place. Save your time, and if you ha
My dr only recommends that I donate no more than once a week. So that is only a 45$ pay for my plasma. For a product that the company gets 2500 to 5000$ for. It is not worth my time or health risk. I told them I would donate for 100$ witch is their promotion rate. They said no. I will NOT be donating plasma in the near future.
Really nice staff. You'll be in and out before you know it. Compared to other places I have donated before, the donation process takes half or a third of the time it normally would take. With their new machines, I can complete a donation within 30 mins and am usually in and out in a little over an hour! Its a far cry from the 2 to 3 hours I spent donating at a different facility. Highly recommend!
Nice staff. Everyone makes sure you are informed about the entire process. Guy that put the needle in was freaking amazing I almost didn't even know he had done it he was that good ?? also the girl that did my psysical was pretty darn cute too. Also the music they play is the best. Other places music suck
I love being able to go to some were I can help the community and be able to keep also myself stable love the center and smiley is my favorite happiest person to see when I come to the center and I mainly only like for her to put a needle in my arm because she is gentle and and always on point before she puts it in my arm
Used to be great, I don't think I will continue ue with the new company taking over, manager was very rude after he wasted my time.
There is always an issue at this place. I've been going for probably close to six months and I think maybe one visit was issue free. Several of my visits, after signing in on the kiosk, I was overlooked and never called. Several times after getting in a chair other people seated after me were stuck. One time I sat after I had finished for 25 minutes before I was taken off the machine. My visit last week took close to two hours due to their lacking in the logistical department. Most of the staff seem young a
UPDATE! I have not been contacted, no one has reached out to me. Staff was friendly and caring except for one guy at the front. I was told I couldn't come back tho, and I've considered taking legal action if I have any room to. I feel it was completely not fair and I tried speaking with multiple people.
Will Not be back. Phlebotomist OMNIA intentionally stuck me roughly, or she is just not a very experienced phlebotomist. I informed her that the initial stick was rough so my arm was sore. She continued to repeatedly ask if my arm was sore as my donation continued to be interrupted by the machine due to the way i had been stuck and I continued to tell her that from the initial stick my arm is sore so every time she adjusts the needle it's sore. At this point I was agitated and it was clear in my tone But th
I have had nothing but a good experience. When your hours changed I had to stop coming because of my work hours but I didn't go anywhere else. I came back last week and Devin is an awesome Phlebotomist. His personality and knowledge are impeccable. I use to work at a plasma center so I know how the business works. The Freedom team I have personally came across are very friendly and know their job. Great place here!
Rick Scott the manager is amazing and his staff is always on point it is a great place to go and donate and help people live. I need to add to my post ever since they switched over to Grifols they are losing a lot of business they suck
Omnia and Jayda are very wonderful people. I love their personality. They make sure people are well taken care of. I love coming here makes me feel like a part of Freedom Plasma family. Thank you.
You're employee Zak is great at what he do I. Ever had a problem, stick me on the first and I would like/love for y'all give him a rise less 2 dollars to his pay!! Thank you I be back on next visit next week ask for his service's!
Great experience! The staff is amazing - Jada, Vee, Endjick, and Omnia were amazing! They really helped me feel comfortable and were very kind and attentive to my needs!
Such great staff and management. Shout out to Tonia!! Excellent service and so friendly. I enjoy coming here. Thank you guys
Great staff! Thorough, safe and by-the-book yet easy. Well worth it when times are tight and being able to help others is a great perk to the process . I especially enjoy working with John but the entire staff is friendly and very professional. Great job, folks!
Starting coming here when the first opened and it was great! Six months later it has become a vastly different experience; the original staff has all but left and the quality of their services has definitely suffered. It's sad to see because the employees are amazing. The hours have also changed to the point where those with jobs can no longer donate. Hopefully if things change up we will return
Friendly staff and superior attention to every detail. I have donated at multiple centers in the past but freedom has one thing that the other places lack, good staffing. All the way up to the administration that is usually just background noise at other facilities. At freedom, everyone is your friend, and that just makes the place seem all the more comfortable. Thanks freedom plasma, for making me feel welcome and part of your family.
came in three times got told three differant lies first time i had to have a utlilitie bill ,the secound time i got approved but couldnt cuz they didnt accept pple after noon ,then i got told now that i am blockd cuz i didnt have an approved piece of mail . so wich is it this is complete bs theres no supervisor or anyone to talk to too wtf its whatever convient for them it seems
Rick scott and Alexis are the best 2 workers at this place. They are friendly and it's convenient. It is timeless and it pays well. Never felt a prick
Was 3 stars now zero if I could. Ever since I watched the management hound out a perfectly good and chill employee during my time I have been unable to pass my due to my pulse. It's loud and stressful. When I ask for advice the lady said she didn't know anything. They give out a silly flyer that is disrespectful. Had a heart rate of 185 and no advice at all, for some people that could mean certian death but they don't seem to care, even talked to management about it. Absolutely no care for the little guy. I
New UPDATE I've since been there and spoke with the Center Manager Rick who has gone above and beyond to apologize and make me feel welcomed he and his staff has been very kind to me. I understand that it was a misunderstanding and yes I AM able to keep my practice with keeping my head coved. Being a 5% I appreciated the respect given to me. I do recommend this location. Discrimated against due to Religion***** OFFENSIVE TO ALL MUSLIMS****** . I'm Muslim, my face was fully visible I was told I can not don
Freedom Plasma acts in a professional manner when donating plasma at this center. All staff members are very professional in their work place. All staff members care about there patients that donate regularly and the compensation money I get is good. I can only say good things about Freedom Plasma and all there employee staff members. Great work team and keep up the smiles on your faces.
Haven't gone yet, but 90 percent of the bad reviews sound petty. The positive so far, they see you in a timely manner, they're very friendly and professional and helpful. Sounds like they follow guidlines and know what they're doing. If I ever need life saving blood, I hope it comes from here where they screen you very carefully to ensure safety.
I've only donated twice, but the employees there have been some of the nicest people I've ever met honestly. The check-in process is also very easy. I do wish there weren't so many questions to answer after having donated already, but I understand why they're there. Overall, great place.
My first visit there everyone was polite until I was given a very thorough physical exam. The young blonde lady was polite at first but she noticed I had a deviated septum and immediately stopped the exam. She said she was going to defer me due to her findings during my exam- for drug use- more specifically possible cocaine use. I was shocked. I explained to her that I have never used any drugs in my life and that I had just had a chemical burn to my face that caused the problem. She said that once she defe
This is my second review, I have been going here for a while and I'm treated good,my girlfriend has been donating at another center for several years and I referred her here, she had her physical and the only blonde haired girl that works there did it, she deferred her because she flat out told her she was a cocaine addict because she has a hole in her septum! That hole was caused by a chemical burn several years back and she has never done cocaine in her life! I have told several people and nothing has bee
I Rate this establishment a 5/5. From signing in your first time to getting stuck my experience has been A1 so far. My veins are very tricky and hard to pin point the accurate spot to poke me. I Love Love Love Olivia don't get me wrong everyone who works there that I have met personally has their own way of doing things and their all so different, however I usually request Olivia because she is the only one that can poke me in the perfect spot for blood flow, and I barely feel it. Thank you Freedom Plasma f
De'Vontae is the best! He always makes my experience a pleasant one because he doesn't miss and he makes me laugh.
I made an appointment just like they asked and apparently they were too understaffed to take me. Total waste of my time. They didn't even bother to honor their rules for their system. Completely unprofessional. ... This is in response to the owner who left a message: Exactly how are they going to help me now when I call? You gave me the number to the exact people who were just standing around doing nothing but said they were understaffed. Also, " cheers", really??? Not very sympathetic are you?
My experience with freedom plasma is like a family reunion. Everybody is glad to see you made it and receive positive salutations when you're leaving. I'm glad I chose this center and not the other one. Thanks, freedom, plasma.
The staff is very professional and makes you feel welcome. I've been donating for the last two months and have not had a bad/negative experience. Kathy and Zhane are great! They make you feel comfortable yet are very focused on their job at hand. I would highly recommend Freedom Plasma on Melrose Avenue.
Zak is a great phlebotomist he made me feel really comfortable when he stuck me. Overall great customer service and professionalIsm.
Omnia what a nice person very attentive and polite her attitude omg the energy and positivity she puts out just puts me in a wonderful place.thank you
My experience was initially good then the gloom became great. In stead of correcting or replacing staff that have an outstanding number of verbal &/or written document errors . . . I was " deferred " for crying & complaining when seeing a large and unusual amount of fluid streaming from my arm. I knew the guy made erroneous attempt because the pain & pressure was indicative of a total mis-Stick. Yet was talked at as some child or some illiterate imbecile by the one of the lead phlebotomist, a manager/super
They screwed me on the Refer a friend promotion they had.I brought my niece in she donated twice they didn't give me a dime of the refer a friend money. This place is hot garbage. Not only that but I was supposed to get $40 when I donated well I only got $16.I contacted freedom plasma they said there was nothing they could do.They have not paid me what they promised on three different occasions.I called them multiple times and give them plenty of chances to pay me what they owed me and they never did.I hope a
Amazing staff, friendly ( love to chat ). It's such a friendly and cozy atmosphere, I even forget I got pricked. I'm at 6 out of my first 8 donations. What a great business! 5 ?!
Went when they 1st opened, center was immaculate. Staff was friendly and welcoming and the lady that stuck me (Kathy) was awesome and spot on. Money was on my card before I left the center ($100) needless to say I will be returning!
Kathy is the best phlebotomist! I will not let any other one stick me! She's very professional and cautious! Love her! Thank you Kathy for making my experience great!
All the staff is friendly. Omnia goes out of her way to make sure your donation goes smooth.
The staff doesn't communicate with each other what so ever. They will run you in circles with paperwork that means nothing. If you get it filled out exactly as one manager wants, another will turn around and tell you they can't accept it. Yet will tell you what information is needed on it even if it is the exact information they just told you. Then will find another reason it can't be accepted and try and say some B.S. of what they want is required by the FDA and what Dr's. office information is needed des
First, I must say I am very impressed with Freedom's facilities and the efficiency of the appointment and screening process. All of the phlebotomists are hardworking and vigilant to each donor's needs. I also must say that Kadijah is my favorite. She always takes great care of me! A prime example of that is at my last donation on 8-1-23. I requested Kadijah. At first, I had issues with no flowing. Kadijah expertly re-adjusted the needle and I had a smooth donation from there. Kadijah has my trust. I also mu
I had my physical and was registered today within 30 minutes of arriving. Linda was great and the staff is very friendly. Super relaxing environment as well.
The center is very clean, the staff is friendly and it runs much more efficiently than the center on Franklin Rd. If you haven't visited this center you must give it a try, especially if you are tired of waiting 30-60 minutes to even check in at the plasma center on Franklin Rd. You can avoid the attitudes from the staff as well, this center makes you feel welcome and appreciated unlike the eye rolls and negative vibes you receive from talecris plasma on Franklin road. You get paid $100.00 the first 8 donat
Not sure what the deal is with this place. I have been donating at one place for over a year and decided to give this place a try. Big mistake. I spent two days tring to get registered ony to be told because I had neck surgery 3 years I had to get my pcp to fill out a form stating that a dura mater graph wasn't used on me. Then I could donate. My pcp told me to take it to the surgeon that did surgery. After two business days I get it back from surgeon but instead of filling out there form and signing it s
They say they will pay you 5$ to leave a review. I left a review weeks ago & showed an employee never did get paid. Today I made a 2:45 appointment drove an hour and a half one way got there before they close at 3 & was not allowed to donate. Having to schedule an appointment every time you donate is pointless
I am interested in becoming a plasma donor and have made calls to this organization to make an appointment. They don't answer the phone. Their voicemail message states that every call is important and yet they don't return calls after you leave a message. Terrible customer service.
Great Worker very kind and respectful highly recommend mrs Omnia.
The worst experience I've ever had I drove an hour and a half to get there. They made me go back and get my Social Security card. When I walk back in the door they tell me they cannot draw plasma from me cause I had tattoos on cover my arms, most unprofessional place I've ever been to.
Nice staff but they have new leadership and are very understaffed. I've been donating here for almost a year and the last two months have been terrible
I absolutely love this place Zhane is absolutely bright and super caring and everytime she has stuck me it has been an absolute pleasure she has a soft touch and she also as a soft nature and is just overall a beautiful person inside and out def give this place 10/10 ???????? and highly recommend her and freedom plasma????
Tonia, always very professional and very knowledgeable when I have questions. Goes above and beyond to make people feel at ease.
I prefer freedom plasma among other plasma centers. Very nice phlebotomists and very clean center. I highly recommend freedom plasma. Good pay! Pays more than most centers and has a good referral system.
I was told I was not able to donate because of a medication I take which was not listed in the donor handbook I was given to read, could have saved me a lot of time if they had listed all meds that could cause deferal, I wasted an hour and when I went into the exam room I was kept there for 40 mins, asked a total of three questions and talked for three mins, the rest of the time the lady was typing away, not sure what she was typing but as soon as I mentioned my recovery and MAT medicine the vibe was differ
Friendly staff, short wait times, experienced staff. Comfortable and familiar atmosphere overall. 5 stars for this plasma center.
This was the first time I went and I was worried but Olivia was great and very reassuring and I didn't even feel her stick me 10/10 for Olivia
Place is so unprofessional you make appointment but yet still wait a hour to get in a chair then you wait even longer to get hooked up
Much better than grifols..well organized..well trained..very professional..Tonia was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable about her job..she makes the screening easy-going ..
This place is a safe and friendly environment I enjoy going twice a week ... my girls Kathy and Rosalina make my experience so enjoyable
Very polite, professional, and helpful wonderful to work with
Hope is an amazing phlebotomist she is very good with sticking donors. She can stick me anytime she is great.
Mahogany and Zhane were great to work with. Other staff members were friendly as well.
Staff is absolutely amazing!!! Great energy and amazing universal precautions!! Best in ROANOKE VA!!!
Enjoy coming to the plasma center. The employees are friendly and respectful. Especially Tonia.
This center is awesome! Care bear is very knowledgeable And a great stick! Pay is great too! Highly recommend
Care Bear was amazing and deserves to be recognized as such. She's very professional and helpful.
The facility is clean staff is unprofessional bring zhane back she was one of the only good phlebotomists staff has bad attitudes and make inappropriate remarks on the donor floor I won't be coming back because she left
The best plasma center in Roanoke va , Tonia is the best employee there,
Devin and Cj are the two most professional and caring employees they made sure I was okay through the my whole donation couldn't do it without them
Everyone was so nice from beginning to end! Enjoyed my visit!

Zhane is an e excellent phlebotomist cause me no pain and was able to get my vein that everybody else was not able to get all right and then I hit post
This place is so awesome the people in here are sweet caring and kind I will be coming back
Good experience so far. Like the laid back environment.
I had made a bad review about this place but they fixed it in a timely manner, I appreciate their attention and solution created!

Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
