I've been donating for over a year now. 92 donations..and because of the turnover rate, I get infiltration from the phlebotomists..which means,I can't donate because of bruises. I understand the corporate rules, but quit leaving a time frame on how long it takes..I'm told by Keenan from ames,ia shop !! And also he mentioned I shou
Filed a formal complaint with corporate headquarters for discrimination practices and will be filing an additional complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well.
I wish I could name each and every person who works at Grifols because each one is amazing! I have always had such amazing experiences here. They make donating such a fun experience with how nice they are. Always a smile from the techs to office personal. I love coming here and the compensation is an added bonus. I highly recommend anyone who wishes to donate plasma to come here.
I had a pretty bad experience today. The lady that did my retake today. Use the wrong cuff on me and deferred me when I had a "on" too high of a heart rate. When it was only 98 and my blood pressure was 82 over 128 and deferred me for no reason today and was pretty. Snotty, about it. Hopefully next time I go in things will be better. Complaining about being lazy and tired things that I really didn't need to hear First, ever, bad experience with them and i've been donating with them for over a year
The times I donated through the Grifols in Ames, I have been impressed with their service. I've tried Biolife before and have noticed that this place has shorter wait time. The staff has always been very friendly with me, making it less stressful for me. Stephanie has always made the process quick and easy and she always has a positive attitude.
Biomat is fast and friendly! I get done fast and I enjoy talking to the employees! Maggie always gives me the best sticks! I appreciate that I can do my questions on my phone before I come in!
I heard good things about biomat so I gave them A try my first and only donation went ok but they forgot to take my blood for their labs until after I donated. When I tried to signup with their app it kept saying my password does not meet the minimum characteristics when I exceeded it with multiple password attempts so I had to call to make another appointment when I arrived to my appointment I was told I had to have the app to donate but they were able to help me figure it out apparently their system doesn
Heard good things about the new donation center, however I have had a horrible experience. They made me redo my physical by my third donation and still couldn't get my account set up the right way?. Additionally, they messed up my promotion compensation (which eventually got fixed) only to turn around and tell me yet again I can't donate because they can't get my account set up the right way. Now I am out money and I've wasted hours in this place. Definitely going back to BioLife.
Every morning I'm greeted by Ciera with a good morning and a smile. She is always in a good mood and gives off a fun vibe. The rest of the staff is awesome too. I really enjoy coming here. They treat me like family.
Update: the new cards have insane charging per transaction/use of card.. I might not come here anymore due to that. I dropped from 5 to 3 . Because it's that huge of an inconvenience. Professional, very kind, nice staff, has a sense of humor, got me in quick the same day even though I showed up late. I don't recommend doing that because it's rude, but I didn't have another choice. I would recommend this place over biolife. Also their Center looks very clean and nice.
Great experience! I come by twice a week to donate plasma and have gotten to know the staff. They're all very helpful and kind! Highly recommend
I love donating plasma for people that need it and this is by far the best location for that in Ames. They have a nice waiting room with chairs before screening and before the actual donation. Very fast process, the staff is beyond personable and always remembers your face and name. Originally my wife and I were coming to just check out the new location, but we made it our default after the first visit. My favorite part about it is the friendly staff. I recommend anyone that wants to switch from another lo
I've always had a great experience with donations, here. I've been coming twice per week as much as possible since March 2022, so over 50 donations by now. The staff is always friendly and does a great job! They've been expanding and so there have been lots of new employees since March, but all have been trained well. The compensation model is a bit different with the pay per donation changing from one month to the next, but they clearly post it at the beginning of each new month. Also, it's set up to
Very friendly and professional staff. I've been going here a year and I don't see myself donating anywhere else. They even take the time to learn your name and greet you when you come in. 10/10 recommend Ames location
Seems like they are still training a lot of new people, and are working out some kinks. That being said everyone was very nice, and the facility is clean and comfortable. I hope they choose to extend their hours, and open on Sundays down the line.
I have always been scared of donating plasma, as I am scared of needles and blood. Recently, I needed some money, so I went to Grifols to donate some plasma. Thanks to the wonderful staff, especially Stephanie who was a wonderful wielder of the needle, I was successful at donating and making some money and even overcame my fears.
I had some good experiences at Biomat, but that came to an end this week. I had already been frustrated by their ever-changing compensation model, but I was deferred this Friday because of a bruise which resulted from a bad stick on Wednesday. I was not able to earn the $90 second donation fee because they screwed up trying to take the first donation. As they have added staff, it has become more like Great Clips. You may get someone with skills and you may get someone who is really not very good at what
Biomat, USA Ames, Iowa, is by far the most superb plasma, donation center that I have ever been to, and I've been to several, not only in Ames, but also in Des Moines, Iowa, as well as in Omaha Nebraska. Let me tell you, until I landed at the Ames Biomat center, I struggled continuously to get my donations to completion. It was a constant battle to find someone who could successfully and continuously stick me and get me through a full donation. At every center prior to Biomat USA in Ames, Iowa, I was deferr
I had multiple bad experiences with this company they don't listen and can't be straightforward with you when you come in they felt ok sticking me till they bruised me so bad it took over a week to go away then they just kept wasting my time and told me to try another donating place they are not a good place
Facility and staff in general, 4 stars. However, communication and attention to detail, 2 stars. I stopped donating for a few months due to medication restriction. Upon coming in for first donation since, I was told I would be a "new donor". The advertising in the lobby states $100/donation for your first 4 visits within 30 days of the 1st visit. After donating, I received my new Paysign debit card and it said my balance was $75. I called biomat and was explained that I was a "RETURN new donor" not a "
Was awesome!!! Very friendly and helpful with knowledge and asurring I understand everything
Beautiful, clean location, staff are very nice and friendly. Donations and wait times are low. It usually takes me an hour each time.
Been going for less than 3 months, initially a good experience. Fluctuating pay scale (over 50% drop) and less than average phlebotomists, have made the last 5 of 7 visits very, very bad. Like, excruciatingly bad... Wouldn't advise going.
Some pretty good people working there! Might ease their burden with a little more staff though... and make a point of trying to retain the good ones you have.
Cierra is the best! Everyone is always so friendly but she gives me a super personalized experience. Love donating here!
I think everyone one here is great. I enjoy coming here. I've meet a bunch of great people and they have become my family away from home.
Why would lower the pay out for the second donation? That is not a way to reward us faithful donors or get new donors in the door
Never had a bad experience at biomat. Walk in appointment are extremely convenient and they always let me store my bike in the vestibules.
The ames location is one of the best donation centers I have had the pleasure to donate my lifesaving plasma thank you for giving me a speedy great experience
Great place. Friendly well trained staff that will help you with any questions that you might have about the donation process. Very clean building and plenty of parking.
Always had a wonderful experience, staff is wonderful and always have a great attitude even though my schedule only allows me to always walk in 10 minutes to close
Amber and Spencer were very nice! Best first time experience.
Been coming for almost a year and the same friendly smiles and awesome services every time!
Wonderful people and an inviting atmosphere that always makes me feel comfortable. I could not recommend them enough!!
Everyone here is so personable and constantly diligent to ensure my comfort. Never had a bad experience.
What a welcoming environment and clean donation process that was! Will definitely be returning.
Awesome place! Love that I can get in and out at my convenience! Keep up the good work!
Grace shorter was the best! She always gets my veins on the first try and always puts a smile on my face
Awesome staff here. Aaron and Logan are great and all the front end people are fun.
Great place! It's good to know I can make a difference in other people's lives.
Never had any problems! Staff is always so wonderful and kind!
I'm usually very scared of needles but the people there are very nice and it's been a good experience.
Great facility, staff are super friendly. Smooth donation procedure.
I like the experience here, its easy and hassle free. It seems they have fun at their work.
They are always friendly and very appreciative when you donate.
Had a good experience everyone is always nice and helpful cierra pfeffer was very nice
It's been difficult to reach them by phone. With that said their customer service is great. Professional and courteous
As long as they start paying more, this facility is for sure my favorite place to donate.
Everyone is welcoming and helpful. Easy way to make a difference in someone life.
Great people, easy money, almost fun to just be here and chat!
Pretty clean place, easy to get in, and no appointments.
Friendly staff! They're quick & their pay is good!
Great staff made an easy and quick donating experience
Great experience is a lot more enjoyable than Biolife
Great place to donate. Clean, modern and staff is awesome.
Very polite and thoughtful also very kind and friendly
They are the friendliest center love the people!
Staff amazing and facilities excellent!
Amazing place staff is funny
Very friendly and professional
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
