Some folks are great some folks are liars. I was told to make an appointment online and that it would be the easiest way to get ahead of people. I set my appointment before 9 I came in and 4 people were called ahead of me after 9.. whats the point of making appointments if your employees can't abide by the rules
Love donating here and love each employee as though they are family. But today broke me 03.04/2025. No one spoke, no one smiled, and there was just way too much tension on the donors floor by the staff. Will go in on Thursday and see if things are better. If not, will go the distance to the other Austin location.
Terrible experience. Was told $150 for the new donor amount and only received $50. None of the staff seemed to know anything when I asked questions regarding donating. My bandages were wrapped horribly as well to where I had to take them off and fix them myself. Everyone seemed miserable there. Will not be coming back to this location.
Great place to donate! I got in and out in a timely manner after donating. The management and staff are super friendly and make you feel welcomed soon as you walk through the doors ! I would highly recommend this place to anyone ! If you are in need of some cash, and want fast friendly service, this is the place to go . They are professional in every aspect !
For starters i wouldn't recommend this plasma center to ANYONE. You dont get a warm welcome(no ?Hi?s? when you walk in or no sign of enthusiasm to make the experience worthwhile). When you're a new donor and first go to the center you sign in. Cool. Need 2-3 forms of id including something with your current address. Cool. The wait is long as expected then you get your blood and blood pressure checked to see if you're eligible to donate plasma and if you're not then they defer you and tell you to come back a
I Don't think Of Returning Back. I Mean ....... I Love The Staff "BUT" They Don't Notice Homless Men USING the "WOMENS " Bathroom. After they Come Out . I go in & there's Urine all Over Lid & Floor . It's just SO Disgusting HOMELESS MEN Entering WOMENS Bathroom Omgeeee
I decided to donate. The staff were very helpful and professional. The facility was clean. Management team was visibly helpful to the staff and donors.
Everyone that works here treats you like a cow being led to slaughter. It didn't used to be like this here. Not sure what changed but the people working here are significantly less happy
The staff is wonderful and it's easy money. Did I say I love the staff?! ?? I love this place so much!!! The staff makes me laugh. Not gonna lie tho, the needle hurts! But still worth the time and the money
Please don't come here they don't know how stick right everybody gotta get adjusted they lazy ASF They making jokes about me bc of my hydration DISRESPECTFUL 0 STARS IM NEVER COMING BACK
Fast friendly staff and always real professional, highly recommend for quick cash in little time !
They are super slow. Even they are very nice. It is still frustratingly slow!
The most uncaring and spiteful staff ever. Once you initiate a complaint against a staff member who lies to you and tells you he's the manager and has no boss, only to find out from corporate headquarters he's only an assistant manager, then intentionally, and spitefully like a vindictive little child restricts you from donating until 2098. And to contact the location to address the matter, the assistant manager hangs up on you.Derel is the asst managers name, He is rude, unhelpful, unprofessional and cert
The customer service is horrible I called first time and talk to a lady she was being rude like why did I call basically won't ever visit this place I asked about prices and she she couldn't tell me I said what you mean you work there so I ask about promotion and she said wel which one you want promotion or prices I'm like wow bish please bye
They told me the would call me in regards of me donating they guy told me if I don't hear from them by the next day just give me a call I've been calling and nobody answers the phone
Great experience, Management was excellent. I was in and out in no time . Highly recommended!
Do not come here nobody cares about your time, appointment was at 11 didn't even get started till 1
Very friendly staff & very helpful!!!! My 1st time experience was top tier! 10 / 10 recommend!!
Many concerned donors have pointed out that Grifols appears to prioritize profits over the well-being of its employees and donors. The company's apparent understaffing has led to high employee turnover and audible complaints from overworked staff. This situation results in extended wait times for us donors, reducing our hourly compensation and increasing the risk of complications due to less experienced personnel. This approach seems designed to maximize profits by maintaining a high donor-to-employee rat
I used to donate whole blood through Oneblood in Florida and never had any issues. I know donating plasma is a different process as I am an EMT. It took me forever to get through the process just to donate. While donating I started to feel ?off?. I was looking around frantically for someone to help me and the one guy I could make eye contact with looked like I ruined his day, until I started slurring my words and couldn't move. After passing out and vomiting aggressively is when people actively started to c
Had an appointment for 5:30pm on 5/13/24, walked in, did the new donor paperwork, went to the back to do the questionnaire and their wifi went out. Got told ?come back tomorrow and we'll add an extra $20 to your card for the inconvenience? (a manager named Jordan said this). Went back 5/14/24 at 5:30pm, walked in, saw one of the same girls from the previous day, told her I came back cause I couldn't donate yesterday, due to the wifi going out, she says ?oh hey yea I remember you, if anybody asks, you watche
Just a simple, regular donation takes up to 3 hour. This place is Very understaffed. I am thinking to stop coming. Poor staff, that's a lot of work for staff and too long hours to sit in that chairs.
Love that it is a quick process and staff is super friendly. Love that some of them always remember my name.
I donated there for the first time and they are all so freaking sweet
Most of the time I come here I'm in and out in an hour or less. I've donated at various plasma and blood centers and I can say with certainty they have the best phlebotomists here. Place looks a little ghetto but they make up for it with good customer service.
Staff were great all around. The phlebotomist was phenomenal! Process getting set up and giving the donation was smooth and quick. Had some issues with the bank card they gave me which got figured out the next day.
The staff is amazing and very friendly. I feel safe when I'm under their care and they always make the process quick and easy! I feel great that I can help others around the world with my donations and the extra bit of cash certainly doesn't hurt either!
I've been donating twice a week for several months now and so far I've had good experiences each time. In particular the pay is better than other places I looked at, and the staff are friendly and down-to-earth. The wait times can be long depending on the time of day and how busy it is, so it's best to come when you don't have something important scheduled afterwards. Regardless, I really appreciate that they take walk-ins and I don't have to make an appointment each time.
Great place to donate! Great staff I have been going here for over a year and love it!
I've been donating since 2018 for leisure income. Since then, the quality of the service has only improved. Especially since they began allowing you to answer the kiosk questions on your phone before you arrive, or makes the process much faster! The staff are extremely generous? Justin, Cecilia and Anthony just to name a few!
The staff are friendly and skilled, clean environment. They could use more employees / less turnover, as it can get rather busy. Hopefully all the employees are getting paid fairly and are provided good work life balance, might help retain good workers.
Moved here from another state where I used to donate. Was a very fast and easy transition. Picked up where I left off. Plus, the employees were extremely kind. A lot nicer than the other location I tried to take my daughter to hands down.
Had a wonderful time here! Axel was wonderful and very attentive. It was my first time coming here and I was so pleased with the level of professionalism and cleanliness. I also spoke with Durrell briefly and he was incredibly kind and personable! I will most definitely be back!
the staff (when they show up) are good, but this place is constantly understaffed, making the lines wayyy longer than they should ever have to be. the phlebotomists themselves are great people but the managers are abysmal and much ruder than the normal staff.
I love to come here anytime I can but their tattoo rule (have to wait 4 mo before you can resume donating) keeps me away. Yes they are understaffed but I'm always prepared to wait. Just part of the deal. It's worth it to me. Helping others is always a good way to spend an hour or two. The pay doesn't hurt either. Due to the dire need of donors they pay very generously. Most staff is friendly.. and know what they're doing.
I have been coming here the last few months and definitely recommend this plasma facility! Great faculty and staff (Anthony especially has a light hand so doesn't hurt while inserting needle). Great sign on bonuses and helping others in need of my plasma is a win win!
Absolutely horrible. They lied and said I'm a legacy donor when I have NEVER donated with this company, somehow they already had a profile but couldn't explain when it was created which is a red flag. Majority of staff is rude and you can definitely tell they are tired of dealing with people. Only good thing there is the music.
This place blatantly discriminates against people who are trying to get back on their feet. If you have "the wrong address" on your ID, you will be turned down from donating because apparently homeless plasma isn't good enough. They "checked my veins" in the lobby and claimed they couldn't find one hoping I would just leave when they threatened to ban me for two months.
This place is very organized and all the staff is amazing and caring. Reason I give only 3 stars is because they need to be very mindful of the health of the donors. While I was waiting in line to checkin there was a woman who just checked in that was clearly sick! She was coughing so much, sneezing everywhere and blowing her runny nose without sanitizing her hands. I even had to ask a nurse for a mask so I wouldn't catch a cold from her. And it was mind boggling that they allowed her to donate plasma in th
This place is very VERY understaffed. The people who work here are very sweet and are doing the best they can, but the wait time is insane. They have plenty of beds and booths, just no staff. The last few times I've come, they are out of band aids for the finger pricking. Band aids!!! Insane.
The staff provided great customer service and demonstrated professionalism. The Center Manager Mr. Durrell was very informative as this was my first time visiting the facility. He definitely made this a wonderful first experience for me. Definitely recommend Mr Arceneaux and his staff!
Majority of the time it's the same employees which is comforting. The ones that have been there a while know what they are doing. I don't ever feel the need, but if you do, you're able to make a request on who you wanted attending you. Most of the staff is pretty friendly. The worst part I would say is the questionnaire takes forever. Some days are busier than others so you'll have to figure out your days. The hours are also very convenient.
The staff provided great customer service and demonstrated professionalism. The Center Manager Mr. Durrell came out to ask me about my experience and thank me for my donation. I can tell that this team is lead by great leadership!
01/15/21 was my first visit here, and I'm glad that it was. I was greeted by a friendly security officer who was smiling from ear to ear and was introduced to Jason (the first vampire lol). Its definitely a smart move on managements part to have Jason in the front because he is an experience to say the least. If you have any worries or nervousness about your visit Jason's personality, wit, and charm will make you feel at ease, and you will leave his booth with a smile on your face and bounce in your step. M
Came in as a re-lapsed donor. Showed up 30 min early, and it took 4hrs. They gave me a card that didn't work, which took another 40min to receive. You let them know your concerns, and they'll just tell you to "have a seat." All complaints aside... Anyone showing up, just remember that your name is just a number?????????
I began to go to BPL Plasma a few months back. Each time I've gone I had a pretty pleasant experience. The center is clean and the staff is nice and welcoming. The wait time can vary and be a little sometimes, but I know that going in and it doesn't really bother me. I also like that they give bonuses quite often. I'd recommend them to anyone who's looking to earn some extra cash and also do some good.
It was a great experience for my first time.the staff were very nice and helpful....my only complaint is the other donors were being rude to them.lol....but I will definitely be going back....and the saline going in my arm was crazy!!!!!
The folks at the Airport location are always friendly and do their best to get you in and out quickly. Charles, Amanda, Cici, and Anthony always try and keep the mood light even when you get stuck there for a while. Visit them to make some fun money and to help out others in need!
Nice , clean atmosphere...very helpful and professional
I enjoy visiting and being a donor at this center. I have donated plasma at 5 different centers in the past. Biomat on Airport has the most professional and kind workers that I have encountered. They are experts at expediting the donor process, even during peak hours. I recommend to bring something along with you to pass the time, such as a book, portable video game, or just a fully charged phone & headphones. Also, it helps me to recover faster when I drink at least 16 oz of water and eat a healthy snack/m
Stay away from The grifols on airport blvd in Austin Texas!!!!! Every I've gone there I'm treated like absolute garbage!!! Do yourself a favor and go to BIOlife
While yes it is a great way to make extra cash you are having to take at least 3 to 4 hours out of your day to complete this. The sticking area is always so understaffed that sometimes they tell you you can't go to the kiosk to answer your 58 questions because they don't want to lines to get too long. They only have three booths open to do your vitals and those take absolutely forever. There are few staff members who are friendly and nice but the rest always seem to have an attitude.
good deals but i used the bathroom for the first time and there was blood spatter all over the sink in the womens restroom from what i assume is people using the bathroom for a ?safe? injection site. looked exactly like it. no one was too alarmed when i mentioned it. safety issue.
Praise the Lord for this facility and the beautiful souls that work here. I love the donor hub for a speedy checking and to know when I can donate again. I've been to this location while it's busy and slow and everything still runs smoothly ??. Thanks yall
Don't expect the receptionists to know much of anything or answer questions consistently and accurately. Only like two of them actually know what's going on. Their computer system crashes regularly. Today it didn't read my fingerprint correctly and I couldn't continue until the system reset which could take up to four hours. Some staff is cool, veterans are professional and know what they're doing, but some staff plays too much making the excruciating wait painful to watch and endure. All the reviews on
They steal your donation money. I was suppose to get 80 for my second donation but they haven't paid out. They do stuff like this constantly, heads up there selling your plasma for over 500 dollars a donation. Straight up scam. America used to be 10 percent of the world's plasma supply but now its 95 percent and they focus on low income areas because they know they'll donate. These people should be treated poorly due to how they treat there patients.
Great place to donate. Professional staff. Efficient at their job. The water fountain works as effective as opening your mouth when it's raining, so I'd advise you bring your own water
This place is great. I make more than $600 a month just spending about an hour of my day, twice a week donating plasma here. Its so easy and painless. Its such a great way to make extra money and you are helping to save peoples lives too!
I have been donating for awhile. My most memorable experience was my first one. Everything was so new and mysterious
This place is great! Attentive, caring, and knowledgeable. The staff are friendly and you can see the team effort of everybody They also asked me if I wanted to request someone and I really appreciated that.
Staff was unprofessional. At first, I thought it was quirky and cool. Girl in front checking me in was awesome. But as the donation progressed, I saw how the Senior black shirt Managers treat their staff. Verbally abusing their employees in front of donors, very unprofessional. I'm donating for the $250 promotion, after that, I'm not sure I'll return here.
This place has potential the actual donating process is fairly smooth and only had one issue in the past six months. The issue being a staff member shoving the needle in the arm because she was in a hurry which brings me to my main problem. The staff here are always in a bad mood! Complaining how tired they are...ready to go home...who didn't do their job right. If you don't like your job you should find a new one. Giving customers attitudes because you are tired or short staffed is unacceptable!
They are extremely slow. There is never enough staff or computers to log in. There are some of staff that are nice but a lot of them are rude. The VIP thing they got going on is not fair, I have been going there for more than eight years now out of need financially and have never been offered the VIP.
This donor center is amazing! Staff are super friendly, and you're in and out pretty quickly! Always a pleasant experience! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some quick, easy, friendly funds!
I've been donating twice a week for a while now, quick and easy way to make extra funds, on top of the actual help your providing for others that are really in need. this location is great, it very clean, great staff, and a very comfortable environment.
Workers are unprofessional and slow ! Be prepared ti be here for a very long time. Sometimes i feel like theyre practicing on you. But 4 stars for the times i go and the night workers are cool and fast . Allen always makes my day regardless of the wait
Ever time we ( my husband and i) go in its a problem and the workers cant seem to get the information correctly. The ones that wear the black are no help and always have an attitude. They need us ( donors) to run a successful business so u would think they do better to do whats needed on there end to keep the donors returning. The restrooms are nasty and never have soap to wash your hands.
I love biomat Austin!!! I live half the year in another city, and their plasma center does not compare. Everyone is so nice in Austin and they even know my name:). Everything goes super quick, it's very clean, and the phlebotomist never miss my vein. Love going here and I'm ready to return in a few months when I move back!
This place isn't that bad yeah u have to be patient and wait but its worth it cuz who's gonna play u to sit on your ass and not do nun...? I recommend this place if u wanna earn some extra money most of their staff is very nice and know what they're doing I've been there 3 times already I feel the same way about this place. And if you take more people with you they give you more $$ I think it's like $20 or $10 i haven't tried it but it works I've heard.
Most unprofessional staff ever. Don't waste your time going there. It will take you 3 hours to donate. For a procedure that's supposed to take an hour in a half to complete from questionnaire. All of the Spanish women there are rude, and inconsiderate. They are not friendly to donors. Definitely do no take their job seriously. Go elsewhere if you're looking to donate. I wouldn't even give them one star if it allowed me not to! Don't have that problem at the BPL on Slaughter Ln. Nor the San Marcos location.
They infiltrated my vein then wanted to restick me in the same arm. I was compensated in full the staff there is nice and it wasn't intentional but I will never go back to that location again. Waited for about two and a half hours before I got seated. That was a lot of confusion sending me back and forth to different areas nobody seems to know what was going on. As they were taking the needle out of my arm another employee young black lady walked by cursing up a storm and the employee that was assisting me
I have had to go back so many times due to a Doctor's approval, which should have been caught from the first time I went in; I feel like I got treated as though they did NOT want me to donate; the customer services has really gone down since I have been in over a year ago; some of the staff are just not friendly at all, and the rest room... forget it! it was dirty and had blood on the door; I have just been given a big run around and I'm hoping they will redeem themselves when I attempt to return once again
I always have a great experience at Biomat! The employees are always nice and do a very good job! The payouts are really good for new donors and existing donors. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to donate! Plus it helps save lives!
The Best experience I've ever had at a plasma center. Very nice and friendly staff. Fast and easy process and not a long wait at all! I will be back and also bring more donors with me
They have close to 70 tables in the back, yet they only use 5-10 at a time, while the lobby is packed with 50+ people. I assume this is a staffing issue and they can't handle more people at time. I would recommend to BPL to hire on more staff, because 3+ hours just to get on a donation table does not lead to people that will want to return. I'll assume that's why they have incentives for repeat donators. Time is money and this process isn't worth it anymore to me. Edit: 4 hours and 20 minutes total ti
It's very confusing. You call on the phone and the staff give you 1 answer. When you actually arrive expecting things go the way you talked about on the phone only to realize its not because you have to wait even longer to donate because you need a new physical though it hasn't been 6 months but you can't get paid as a new donor even though you are basically going through the steps all over again. Last time I donated here I had to get a physical 3 times because they didn't know what was going on. Don't feel
A good source of money to supplement your income. $30 for your donation, $40 if it's your second donation of the week, max two a week, plus bonuses if you donate 6 or 8 times in a month. On good day, you'll be in and out in a little over two hours, but that's often not the case, as this center is understaffed and efficiently could be improved. Regardless, if you could use the extra money, and have the time to donate, I'd still recommend it. Funds are given to you on a visa card. HEB let's you get out exa
They definitely treat you right here. The staff is very accommodating and having gone to other places, it's nice to have staff that doesn't have to restick. They also asked me if I wanted to request someone and I really appreciated that.
The staff they have is friendly, there's a lot of new staff in the last four months, but there veterans are good. The wait time to lay down are too long since they have a lot of new staff but it can be better, I would rate it high when the wait time is lower and the payment is better ( they took away the 9th visit bonus which was the same as the 8th visit, and they just took away happy hour bonus). The pay was better when this company was named DCI, (you would get a bonus on your 3th-5th-8th and on your 9t
Unhappy hour. Went in for happy hour on a Wednesday only to discover that because they dont pay their employees enough half of them had quit and because of that bpl decided to cancel happy hours until further notice. Why are the donors having to suffer due to poor management? No apologies just a sign on wall saying we wont have happy hour anymore effective immediately. They have 3 sign in stations one of which is broken so really only 2, and the December promotional card whoever designed it didnt pay atte
I've been going here for almost a year now. It's always very quick and efficient. I've had a couple people I really didn't like but you can always request someone different to stick you, if you don't know anyone's names ask for someone in a black coat, they've been there longer and supervisors I believe. I've got two issues but obviously not enough to keep me from going. The first, I never really see anyone change their gloves, they jump from person to person without changing them. They touch their hair or
Donating plasma is a process, but the staff at Biomat USA, Airport make the experience flow well. Everyone is pleasant and they do their best to get you in & out within a decent timeframe. But be aware that the plasma lab has busy times of the day, which seem to be after 3:00pm. This facility is centrally located and easy access off of Airport Blvd. The compensation is great and the best part of this is knowing you are helping to save lives!
The biggest shout out to one of the best phlebotomist here Aton! Who can ever forget their center manager Durrell my experience here has been amazing because of them!
Used to have good experiences there, but since the change in their system have been treated poorly for the most part. Would not help me with a lost card, even though their information says they will immediately replace a card. Will likely never go back.
I've been coming here for 9 years. And feel right at home... I consider bpl as family. Thank you for allowing me to be a blessing to those in need... God bless
Things I've witnessed at the airport BPL Center in particular: 1) We have two BPL facilities in Austin, one North and One South; we should be able to go to any BPL location and donate, however you are only allowed to donate at one. Not being able to donate at another regional facility is one of the biggest issues I have with donating, they don't make it easy for the donor, it's quite often a huge inconvenience. Over-all the employees are the best part of this place. Most employees do a great job. I think
I've been in the waiting room for exactly an hour now. All the times I've came, I never had to wait this long to just get called in to a booth. As I'm sitting here in the waiting room, I see that there are three booths open and some emplyees not doing anything. The customer service is good, they just needa speed things up around here. Some of us actually have to donate plasma as a requirement and then we have our things we gotta do for the rest of the day. And nobody has all this time to be sitting in the w
The entire staff at Grifols-Airport location are always very friendly, caring and professional. I personally know people that depend on plasma donations that's why I make it part of my weekly routine. Donating does take some time but isn't it worth a little bit your time to help save a life? I think so. Highly recommend donating at Grifols.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
