Came here today to donate. Have been waiting for a physical for at least a half hour when the nurse decided to take someone back who showed up after I did just because they didn't want to be part of the rsv program. While the nurse was dealing with the woman who didn't want to be part of the rsv program, she had my information in front of her on the desk. When I asked to speak to the manager, no one attempted to get her to resolve this situation. Don't recommend this place very much since they treat the
Second time I have gone there as a new patient. Keep telling me they can't find a vein. I drank a case of water in 2 days. But yet 30 minutes later CSL has no problem finding a vein. I think they don't want to pay new donor fees
While being screened to donate a screener named, Sarah and already stuck my finger got my weight but as soon she put the blood pressure cup on my arm in the middle of the process of getting pressure she just snatches it off and says ? I can't donate cause of a odor? then continues to say ?If I have a problem they are also gon have a problem smelling you? so I tried to get her to describe the smell she continues to ignore me and say sorry. so I find that kind of funny idk but that was handled poorly.
John knows what he is doing, he is friendly and efficient. Shay and Sash are good at their jobs and I look forward to seeing them
Polite staff, sanitary clean center, decent compensation for donations made 2X / week. Donations are made by appointment only through their Grifols plasma donor hub app after your 1st initial appointment by phone/app. You get compensated immediately after donating, money is deposited on a prepaid debit card. It takes approximately 2-2 1/2 hours per donation. Your initial appointment will take about 3-3 1/2 because you get seen by their doctor for a physical and initial blood testing.
I don't know what's going on with this place anymore. Donations change every month, seems like there's no staff or management can't change a simple form and you always have to wait on a nurse who isn't there. How about cross train your nurses to do everything! So upset and only going back one more time and that's because I don't want screwed out of my 2nd payment. Done with this place!
Poor customer service. There's no one at the front desk to check in or answer phone calls that I've seen each time I go here. I've tried calling several times to find out info on payment for donation BEFORE I arrive. I also schedule ahead on the website and answer all the questions before coming in, to help expedite my visit. Today I had a 9am appointment. I waited nearly 45 minutes before the tech called me back to do my pre intake. Before I get seated, I asked him what the rates were for donating as I c
I came in as a new donor and met Denise she was absolutely great made me super comfort come in after 6 yrs of donated where I had a horrible experience at the last Grifols and I still wanted to donate but was skeptical until meeting Mrs. Denise she was awesome and I want to say thank you for helping me understand all the things on the donor inform consent.
The young female staff in the back do way more talking to each other then they do working. They stand around staring off into space like multiple people were done and could have done taken off the machine I mean just ridiculous.
Almost always a good experience. I'm there typically just over an hr, 1.5 tops! Definitely worth it to help moms and babies!! The staff are all good as well (even the scUM fan)
I've been donating here for a year and most of the time it's a very good and quick experience usually there between 1-1.5 hrs. The staff is very nice and friendly which make the experience as pleasant as possible.
Had to go threw new donor process cause it had been so long since I last donated so Friday the 10th of this month I donated they said I had to wait 2 days between donations I finished my donation at 3:50pm came back on Monday and donated was told after I donated I would get 40 dollars after I was told second donation was 80 dollars manager told me that they were open on Sunday yea till 4pm which would have been 48hrs right at 4 took my plasma and then screwed me out of 40 dollars very very crooked business
I recently started donating plasma and now I do it twice a week, great for extra money, awesome friendly environment as well as great staff members. You do sometimes have to wait a decent amount of time when I first started coming but I will say recently It's improved significantly so awesome job to the management. Thank you guys for providing a friendly place that I can feel comfortable coming to, as well as being able to help others out!
there may be times when they get backed up and you may wait longer than normal. Most the staff has been very friendly and I've never had a "sticking " issue so they must be pretty good at that. The pay is better than other donation centers in area.
Place is slow, like mega slow. It's always been slow but not this. I used to get in after 15 minutes of waiting and now I sit in the lobby for 1 hour before I can even do the kiosk questions and then I'll sit before I get screened forever just to get back to the lobby to sit longer before I get called back to donate. Then I'll sit there on the cot for nearly 30-45 minutes before they stick ya. Need to improve or I'll just find some other place. I shouldn't have to live at this place all day to do something
i came here to donate to help others , as i was sitting waiting for about an hour 10 people have went in front of me to get their vitals as i approached the front desk she had told me there was a new system and i had already got my vitals taken , when i did not . i proceeded to leave and she said if i left i would be unable to return for the day when i still have not gotten my vitals taken , the management at this place is terrible and unprofessional. i would not recommend anyone to donate here unless you w
I just donated for the first time today and my experience was INCREDIBLE. I was met with smiling eyes (and most likely faces under the masks as well??) I was walked through every aspect of donating and was given great tips on being a first-time donor. The facility itself was very clean and most definitely Covid-19 free. Super upbeat and kind staff! My first appointment was long, because that's what should be expected... and I'm not mad about it. There are a lot of important steps involved in donating and an
Staff is always helpful n friendly. Always greeting me by name or a smile..very accommodating and attentive. I will never go to another plasma center to donate.
Given that they take your information at the very beginning for new donors, it astonishes me that after waiting over 2 hours, I was turned away. Why? They had a profile with my maiden name not married name. I shouldn't have a profile because I never donated. However, with the information given, they would have known from the very beginning my information didn't match what was in their system. It's a slap in the face to have me sitting for over 2 hours for nothing. Don't waste your time.
I went in there on July 7th which I believe was a Wednesday as a new donor. And I just read some of the reviews about don't plan nothing for the rest of the day I went in there at 2:30 and I was out by 4:45 which to me that's not all day. The staff was very friendly the nurses are were very helpful when my tape would come off I would ask them if they could put it back on and they did right away. Place is very clean and sanitized. I just think from reading some of these comments that they're are some impatie
On my first visit, at 2:30 pm I was told I must have an appointment. Which I had been told was not necessary. I made an appointment for my next, first appointment. I was there 4 hours. They were very thorough and that was fine. My second appointment went smoothly and I was there 3 hours! I went again with an appointment, and was told it was too soon to donate again. Why wasn't I told that while making the appointment? I was told to come back Thursday. I asked if they were open thanksgiving, "Oh no we're not
Would not recommend going here the one lady accused me and my boyfriend for supposedly having hepatitis c now my boyfriend has been donating at this place they never said anything to him then about it and I also had gotten my finger pricked before and no one has said anything about me having it but we in fact do not have at all now my dad that used to donate here has it but it's not like covid to where you can catch it through the air lol and I think she could?ve at least done a blood test to make sure, but
Went for my first time tonight. I've never donated before so the process was a bit longer. Staff was super kind and informative. Very clean and the process was simple. Will be back!
Most of the staff are great. They have a good sense of humor. There are a few I particularly like of course. But of course sometimes they get really busy and crowded. That can't be helped. Plan on spending a bit of time here. At least 90 minutes if you aren't a new donor. New donors... don't plan anything else for the rest of the day. Ken is an awful person to be anywhere near and verbally harasses people.
Grifols plasma is by far the worse place I've donated. I hate I left another center to come here. I was not told everything needed to know while donating. I also wasn't told during my initial visit that I needed to wait a week when switching centers. I tried to donate and was told by the nurse that I needed to wait a week when switching and was told that's something I should have known. The nurse made it clear she didn't care, so for that I will not return EVER to donate. This is unacceptable, I should have
Regardless of appointment or not, regardless time of day, I have to wait long time to get screening and another hour wait to be called by phlebotomists. Last week I came here three times and left without donating as I saw no place to even sit as so many people were waiting. One of the phlebotomists stated that this center has more employees compared to other center in this region. You, the management, should see your operation and staffing of this place. Staff told me that you are paying between $10-14/hr.
Very unprofessional. Waited an hour and a half just for someone to call me back while several others went ahead of me. Nurse swore loudly on the floor. Barely any donors here and they only have one nurse hooking people to machines. One nurse even talked to another in front of me about a machine acting up that they were still using on the donors. They also mentioned the one nurse that was able to put needles into people was forgetting to do her job. Like take samples and she was also messing up several times
Everyone goes on break at the same time. Even when I make an appointment it doesn't matter I'm usually here for hours. All the employees do is talk constantly, I wait forever to get hooked up. It's very unnecessary. They don't do their job in an orderly fashion. I've been here since 1 been sitting in the chair since 1:50 and still haven't been hooked up yet. 2 people have been called back before me and they have yet to be hooked up as well. I spend more time waiting on the employees than I actually do donat
When I first started going here almost 2 years ago everything was smooth this is before I got the app and started my question before I went I would go in do my question not even get to my chair to sit they called me to the room for my vitals check and go out sit for few minutes they called me back and not much longer after I got seated they were hooking me up to pump.. Alot of times I was only there a hour or little longer that was then seems to me when their system got switched everything became a mess..
I will say the previous times I have donated, the staff was somewhat friendly and the place was very clean and the location was convenient. Do not go unless you have 3-5 hours to spend, even when it's slow and you have an appointment. It's a longer wait time towards the end of the month. It was an option for extra money. Your first few visits pay much more than the rest. Once the initial visits are over its around 30-45. 00 each visit which goes onto a debit card they issue. The reason for my one star go
I'm a new donor and I will tell you I was treated exceptionally. The girls on the floor are some of the sweetest people, very personal and they made sure since I was a first time donor that I was ok through the whole process. However, this last time I donated, everything went well until it came time for the payment that they promised to give as a donor. When I got home I checked my account and noticed that I was shorted by $30. I immediately called, they pulled my chart and yes indeed they did not reimb
Picture is worth 1000 words. After 4 hour visit. Impossible to donate more than once a month...
I've been donating here for roughly 3 years. Lately it's been a mess here. I'm part of the anti D program. First there's been some problems or mix up getting my cells, which is now causing me to be limited to donating twice monthly as opposed to twice weekly. Then, one of the "perks" to the program is that you're supposedly supposed to have "VIP" status, meaning as it was initially described to me, that you no longer have to wait to be called back or to be stuck. That apparently doesn't mean squat to the s
Been donating there for years. They are all great except for one rude employee who has been there for years. All she does is argue and talk down to donors, she is so rude its repulsive and ive often considered not coming back because of her. Please send her back to whatever dmv she came from and I will change my rating to 5 stars. Shes awful.
I have been donating for 5 months. The center is really clean and I have found the staff to be very friendly. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, but procedures take time! I wish I had one closer to East Liverpool!
They waste a lot of time and do not always pay you. I like donating in PA and really, so far, have hated the experience of donating in Ohio. They think people are doing this out of kindness. We are not. We need money.
I made a appointment for this afternoon. Showed up 25 minutes early to do the paperwork. Stood at the desk for 10 minutes and the ladies sitting down finally was like can I help you. I told her I was a new donor and she stated oh well you have to wait for someone to get back. Waited another 10 minutes and still no help so I canceled my appointment and left. Very disappointed...
I don't think anyone cares except maybe 3 people in this place. No one is there holding people accountable for what they are doing. A nurse last night (who looked like she was on something) had a person complain (a valid complaint) and she could care less. Instead of trying to help fix the issue the nurse walked into another office slammed the door and started yelling and complaining about the person. They only had two phlebotomist. Shay was one of them and let me tell you I have never seen someone avoid wo
Tatyanna is one of the best workers you guys have there every time I come in she is friendly kind and waiting to see you with a smile thank for that
I have been going here for several years now off and on. The new building in Austintown Ohio is very nice always clean and very high tech. Until last week actually on NYE, I had an appt as I always do & for some odd reason 2 people that I noticed, probably more unnoticed went ahead of me. When I asked why to the person working the intake area this was happening, which by the way in the past once before had told me this very same thing in the very same snied manner, I was pretty much told malarkey if you ask
They stuck me severely several times. They had 2 nurses stick me a total of 4 times on one arm and refused to pay me unless I let them stick my other arm too. Then proceeded to laugh about me saying it hurt.
Very slow. Some staff is very nice other walk around with a stuck up snobby attitude. Its worth the money in a pinch but if you have more than 50$ to your name Biotest is not worth the time. Some of the staff should not be allowed to treat their doners the way they do.
This place is a complete joke ! I have had the worse experience donating ever since i started coming here . i use to go to grifols downtown a few ago and nothing but good experience . I chose here when i started donating again because i heard money was better. The wait time is ludicrous. The staff always just walking around. Especially when the start working "sections " . Then when u do finally gwt called u sit and wait then u get stuck maybe within an hr and that usually is painful and always have to adj
This place has gone downhill since being under Grifols management. Under staffing problem which results in as much as 2 hours to get screened and even longer to get sent back to donate. The pay is decent but it's not the only plasma clinic to offer the same pay.
This place is a joke! I went there years ago had problems but decided to give her another chance. So my first visit back in years and they screwed up my pay and on my second visit they screwed up my pay and on my third visit they took people that have been waiting an hour less than me ahead of me. Will definitely not be going back!
Fr this plasma place is beyond ridiculous my issue is you got me deferred I'm not even in the system when it was griflos I was donating took my cuff off cuz my donation was over the cuff was tight causing my arm pain mind anyone who reads this over. A year or so ago in my defense the deferral should be lifted considering your not griflos no more i would highly recommend against going to this place just fyi other center pay more n they don't have staff with chips on there shoulder
Very nice staff but their system went down when i happened to be there my first time so they made two donor profiles. So i cannotndonate until they fix the problem which they have no answer on how long that will be. Its irritating that inhave to suffer for someone elses mistake.
Incredibly unprofessional and rude. The nurse and doctor think it's okay to speak to you like you are beneath them. They both got in my face and didn't back off until I stood up for myself. I will never be returning which is really unfortunate for me because I really just wanted to help people by donating. I'm heartbroken and it's very sad that they think it's okay to treat people that way. I would give zero stars if I could.
There is no point in making an appointment. They are not very organized. It takes so long because you are waiting. They want you to eat, drink, and be healthy but you're here for 5 hours and you have not been able to eat or drink.
Top rated company in my opinion. Becky..Kelly..Joanie..Teresa...John...Jenn..Tonya....and can't forget Stevie...I could go on. Been giving for years and wouldn't give anywhere else. Friendly, personable, they are like family. Professional and caring.
I've donated w biotest in the past...actually 2013... Well apparently your soposed to keep your old visa card they give you, EVEN IF ITS EXPIRED!! NO where on the website does it tell you this, and like everyone else's reviews, they will not answer the phone so you can ask a simple question. Even though I had an appointment for right when they opened I am still sitting here over 6 hours later. Very rude unprofessional staff at the front desk. Think about this place a little more before donating.....had I kn
You name a appointment then tell you that they can't take you. Then what's the point in having opinions on your website to make a appointment if you get turned away. I want something done about this. It's ridiculous. The nurse very RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL
Tatyanna gives the best customer service, she is always going above and beyond to make sure I'm good !
Most of the people are friendly but the women there are to stuck up and snobby. If you feel a pain in your arm they will sit there and try to explain why it hurts when usually they just put the cuff on too tight. Then when they know there wrong they stand there and continue to argue how right they are. This place needs some serious attitude change.
I love it there staff is very nice and respectful makes me feel good knowing I can help people who need and they pay you very good if you're looking for a good place to donate I recommend this place don't take my word for it come check it out you see for yourself
Not bad.. people can stick well, at least my sewer pipes anyways.. wish they all payed more.. should be at least bare minimum of 75 a donation.. that's y u mise well donate as new patient every 6 months.. go the first 5 or 6 times and then switch centers every 6 months. Lol.. no fr tho.. it's common sense
I went to the Biotest place today,I just left there a couple of minutes ago and yes I you know when you're signed in in they are pretty nice but then you get on the floor and then this encounter I had with this phlebotomist I don't know her name but her manager's name is Ed he's like the site manager or whatever this phlebotomist had no clue what she was doing she stuck this huge needle in my arm 4 times maybe 5 OK and then when I let her know she was hurting me she told me it was my fault because you know
I drove up to Youngstown wanting to donate my plasma. Wanting to do some good for other people. I get all the way to do the physical, the last part before they take your plasma, and the women that took me was really rude to me, acted like she didn't want to be there at all. Before the physical even get half way they say I look to pale so I had to leave and not come back. What kinda shut is that
The people are all very nice, but scheduling an appointment on line doesn't work. Every time I schedule as an existing doner and it changes it to new doner. So I have to sit there for a couple of hours because they don't have me on their appointment list. And, I tried to call about it from 5pm till they close at 7 and nobody answers the phone. Very frustrating!
This place kicks a@#! Professional, clean, and proficient. Last place i went always bruised my GF. Not here it'painless. Great place. Friendly staff.
I have been to Biotest in Austintown, Ohio off and on. But this time will be my last, because: 1. They changed the rules without updating their website or donor book. 2. Because the techs their lied about my veins. If you can't give plasma from either arm, they will defer you. And the nurse told me that I can give plasma at other places, but I can no longer give it there. If they can't find your vein in either arm, they will defer you. I have no idea, why these nurses could not find my veins...because th
The place is horrid. They treat donors like cattle. You irritate the wrong one, even if you do nothing to earn it, they will make your time miserable. I have overheard employees personally plan on blowing someone's vein so they can't donate. Very childish bunch of employees. Grifols has treated me with great respect consistantly.
They pay good, be prepared to wait tho. They take favorites back first, they don't go in order of who gets there first. If you are black you have a higher chance to get stuck quicker.
Every time i donate i always have a good experience! Every one is very nice especially becky! I have never had a bad experience!
Employees just stand around walk in circles. Waited 2+ hrs in the chair before I got stuck. The money isn't enough for the time wasted
The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is very clean. Am always in and out with a great experience.
After being pasted over 3 times this morning and complaining about it, my husband was personal told by a black manager that White people have to learn to wait their turn. Last time his turn took 4 hours, this time 3 black walk-ins, who came in after him, were again taken before him. No more!
Wow this place is ridiculous. They clearly let drug users dontate with no problems but because i cannot provide documentation of when i had a naval peircing (which they have on file was over 12 years ago) they will not let me donate. If i could give 0 stars i would!
Alll the staff are nice but if you get john he is so slow and don't help coworkers.
The staff here including the management are rude and racist. They don't know what each other talks about. They are never on the same page the place is a mess
( no blame to the management or process) Due to 2 phlebotomist messing with my needle my first time ever my left arm was blown out they didn't stop the machine in time from pumping the blood past my vein into my arm hurt like he'll but the seccond time just a day after it was much better until the end when the needle had to come out the lady was rather rough and upset but again 100 bucks is 100 bucks lol
Been coming here for almost a year now and i cant begin to tell you how awesome everyone there is. John is the best and toya is hott!! So if you need a few extra bucks and dont mind sitting for an hour stop out and check biotest out you wont regret it!!!
Been going here for years and never had a problem but recently I went and they blew my vein and I had to use my other arm 2 things they used to compensate you for but this time they didn't I tried to get someone to help me but there was hardly anyone around and after I told them it was hurting they just kept making it worse.
Wasted my time called up to see if I was eligible to donate the lady otp said yes I'm eligible just to get told no I'm not when I walked in wasted my time.
They won't turn away junkies, but they turn away someone with years old scars
My experience with Biotest OVERALL has been well. I've been a donor of Biotest since the age of 19 and I am 46 years old. I remember when WE first went automated.......#Ifeellikeafossil #lol
Nurses are disorganized and unsure of what they are doing. Try to become a new patient and all they do is just give you a run around and not all info they need at 1 time. Very poorly operated!

They need to stop just "mumbling" your name from way in the back, then when you can't hear them, they want to blame you...I had a 7:00 pm appointment, finally someone actually comes out into the lobby where we can ACTUAlly Hear them and says "all 730 can sign in", then she gets prissy with me cause I "waited to long to say something" very rude, very poorly organized, going to start going to another center
i donated plasma for my first on thursday its an easy process but the first time takes the longest very friendly staff very knowledgeable answers any questions and they compensate you for your time and donation
Been donating here since June 17th, the staff are awesome!! Never have ever had a bad experience here!!!
Awesome place always kind to me, and quick as well been going here for dang near almost a year and haven't had problems yet!! Keep up the good work
I am a happy donor ive been deferred but I feel they are looking out for my best interest and health. Will continue to go back
Since I've been going I think everyone is very nice and professional. These guys are very hard workers the should be appreciated.
Your not DONATING if you get PAID!!!! ??Donate at the American Red Cross! Where they help children & adults everyday!! And feel great about it!!! THATs DONATING !!!! ??
THis place is terrible they are EXTREMELY SLOW. You will get called back and be waiting almost a hour just to be stuck . They would get more done if they didn't just stand around talking so much .
Might be donating today bein putting it off for months but my anxiety is just through the rough about it but I would love to help and I could definitely use the money as well.
I absolutely love all of the staff here and their smiling faces it always makes for a great experience. Thank you Biotest.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
