The NEW white tall man at the screening booth bald with glasses doesn't know what he's doing. I've been sitting for about an hour I literally watched him send two people out the door because their blood pressure wasn't reading. So even if the machines are faulty you still will be at fault even if the screening person don't know what they're doing you'll still be at fault keep in mind he sent two well three including me out the door because of their BP wasn't reading on the machine(I never had high BP)so com
Horrible .. I haven't been back since 2017. They mark in their book if you have had words with the staff but the staff isn't that nice. They will put a permanent band on you. Even if you call to check so you don't waste your gas They don't know their real system till you're there.
I wasn't able to donate and had to lose a bonus because of the rash and bruises some phlebotomists caused. Straight up not fair. They really need to learn to stick and wrap better.
Very very rude and made me wait for no reason . Had me drive all the way across town to put my information in there system and then not let me donate. Then said it was there policy to have mail. Why not tell me to bring some mail in the first place it don't make any sense seems like they refused me because I'm a new donor
Great environment and staff. One of the biggest reasons I like coming to this place was for the movies that you can sit back and watch Y'all should bring back the movies
Always great to donate here but you took the movies away.. Bring them back and I will give that 5th star ??!
5 stars if they bring the movies back ?????? No TV MAKES HOMER SOMETHING SOMETHING ??
My experience would be wonderful if you had the movies and the shows playing as I donate
The earlier you can get there [7am weekdays, 8am weekends - closed Monday] the better to donate. To register, later in the day
People only go there because there's no other one close 96-97 temperature they send you away, they judge like they don't split the bills. Some of the plasma people make as much as them. They mad.
The staff works do their best to keep us happy when we are there and they have a great choice in movies
They cool n what not very good people's up in there I like it ??
The attitudes that are given from the workers at this place are really ridiculous! Like, you have one little job that your TRAINED in health care to do. They barely find a vein! And after the 1st time of not finding it they give up and on to the next person who comes to you to poke poke and poke a 4th time, while you've got blood everywhere because of the big needles. Someone really needs go in this place undercover , and as a new donor to see how bad it really is! For one, you get told nothing. Of cour
Uses forehead scanners instead of use of thermostat under tongue. This can lead to inaccurate temperatures. Couple this with the limitation of only one scan this can become problematic. An employee asserted head wear or coverings such as hats or scarfs will have little to no impact on a reading, this is objectively false and miss leading. You can easily google the topic and head coverings can influence 2-10 degrees Fahrenheit difference in actual body temperature. This same employee asserted that after the
First I wanna make it clear that the staff are wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Nothing about the problem has to do with them. Having said that more than once now I have been sent an email for a bonus on my next visit and evrytime even after being told multiple times that they would honor it, right when they are about to stick me they tell me for one reason or another they won't be giving it to me. I have been told several different reasons for why they wont honor them. I don't think I will be return
The staff is friendly and polite and give attention to their patients. They also pay the best out of all the donation centers that I know of. Right now they are experiencing a plumbing problem in the men's room because they get some donors that flush more than what they ate or drank. I still would recommend the place to donors.
I've been to a few donation centers this one is the BEST I've been to. The staff is kind and friendly and they work not standing around talking. The machines are fast an it didn't take long to start the process. The pay is decent, I just thought I would share my experience because I've read so many people who are not happy with the place. Maybe I'm going to the wrong place they are upset with (White Oaks). Anyway keep up the good work!
Sometimes I feel like the employee doesn't want to be here and they hate US..... I don't understand why they are so RUDE. I wish I could drop names ??
They waste your time & gas money. They're short staffed or they just don't want to deal with you. Go to another center if possible They messed up a stick in 1 arm so they had to use the other which was fine. Except they mark you down in their system so the next time you go, you have to get your veins checked. So I've been back 2 times and they told me to come back later in the day when a 2nd phlebotomist is there. People have jobs and other things to do and can't just come back 3 hours later or whenev
This place is slow. The workers move at the pace of a snail. I can understand taking your time sticking the patient but they do everything else like they have all the time in the world. They could care less about the customers having to wait for 4 hours to get stuck. Also, they stand around and talk instead of tending to their customers. Last time I was done and just sitting there for 30 minutes with a needle in my arm because noone came and took it out.
The staff is very pleasant and have a few that go above and beyond. But the wait time is atrocious and it doesn't seem to matter what time of day or what day of week you come. Or whether there are 30 people waiting or 10. People set their schedules around getting in and out and honestly I don't think 2 hours is that long on busy days but not every day. It's a process I get it, but you all have an app, use it for real time updates on how many are waiting or in queues. Atleast then I can check the app and mak
I'm not a donor, but my fiance? is a donor. While I've been sitting here waiting for her today, I have seen the staff here go above and beyond to help donors get into their account so that they can donate. This is a Plasma Center where they actually care about the donors and do what everything they can to help them be able to donate safely. We choose this center over other centers in Richmond. 6 out of 5 stars.
Just because I keep seeing ridiculous or odd reviews, I am going to give my own review of this place. Four stars because sometimes the staff does have problems that they discuss across the back floor. Most of the staff is great with wonderful or good customer service skills. They are understaffed often, but if you're polite to them, they are polite back. There is no way for someone to get infected by donating. They use a fresh needle per person. If you find out about an infection after donating, start looki
I have been to several other donation places and this place is by far the slowest. Most of the staff is friendly but I've had to leave a couple times without donating because it was so slow, and the donation floor wasn't even full. Just seems like everyone takes their sweet time.
Be prepared to wait between 4 to 5 hours and deal with some miserable employees. Some of them are cool but majority ain't worth a nothing, rude and are on a power trip. You can't even stretch your legs after sitting for so long.
The people are very nice, it doesn't take very long unless you go during peak hours. HOWEVER, I go after my night shift and I've never had an issue. Now, they have new machines for taking vital signs. I was told my HR was 104 so I had to wait. They let several people through and for anyone who's donated plasma you know that the time consuming part for the staff is hooking someone up to the machines. I took my pulse manually as I've been doing professionally for years and it was in the 60s. When I asked if t
Ever wanted to wait an hour and a half just to be poked wrong?
This place is pretty decent. There are no other place like it that pays better on a consistent basis. There are many challenges in all work places but overall the staff is proficient, professional, and pleasant. Wouldn't go to another spot....
Besides all the benefits for both the donor and the recipient the facility itself appears to be new. All the equipment is updated in new and fresh so you're not going to be sitting around waiting for a long time you don't go knocking to have to worry about the machines breaking down on you.
I've been donating plasma on and off for several years now, I've been to six different facilities (as a recurrent donater) and I have to say, this is by far the nicest, cleanest, most organized and well-staffed donation center I've EVER been to. Everyone employee that I've met is courteous, peofessional, and thorough. I've never had to wait long, my total time spent there is an hour and a half, drastically less than anywhere else I've gone. It's clean, they have a great procedure. Everyone that's pricked me
This location is professional and caring. My issue us with corporate offering the same donor rate no matter the volume level of plasma donation. If you do the math from the 690 - 880 level thats and extra full level bottle every 4.63 visits. Seems to be a need to reward those of 180 lbs and above. Just my 2 cents worth.
The workers at this location all have bad attitude about their job, they constantly stop and take breaks. They don't take people accordingly to how they come in the door. I had them take 5 people that came in after me and got a bed and connected to donate. Not everyone who donates has all day long to sit here. The employees at this location have 2 speeds slow and stop!
Went 2 yrs ago n couldnt donate couse I was on Adderall now I cant donate because im on depakote. N $55 for a donation is a joke dont waste ur time or gas like I did
Clean place, nice people, but the wait time is bad sometimes (better now with pre-check in on the donor app). My experience has gotten way better since last posting about this place, as there had been update machinery, and the "nurses" are more careful to my needs (rolling veins, hard stick). I can say this isn't the most lucritive place to donate if you are looking for more $$$, but its usually consistant, and there are now contests you can get big money for. I keep going, and just like the fact I am helpi
The management of this business is horrible! Short staffed, Unprofessional, shortage of tape, nasty bathrooms, no soap in bathrooms, and have you waiting for hours for a process that takes less then 1 hour. The staff and managers talk to you and treat u like your less than average or above average because they are frustrated with their job. Don't go here yall!!!
First time coming on a Monday in the morning. The wait was not that long. However I the staff was extremely unprofessional. One lady stuck me and never change her gloves. She was texting on her phone then she proceeded to stick me. Toooo much playing not enough professionalism.
I drove 30 minutes for my appointment for them to then tell me I could not be seen because they didn't have a nurse. This facility opens up hours before my appointment was scheduled. They should've notified the appointments that they could not be seen. The most unprofessional experience I have ever experienced at a plasma center up to date.
Complete and utterly crap. Staff is highly unprofessional and incompetent.Even down to the site manager. And I have to agree with the first person. They need to be trained a bit more at threading a needle into a vein. And leaving you for 20 minutes with the BP cuff so tight your fingers turning purple. Why I will not return there. Should never have to deal with rude, incompetent and, unprofessional people.
Worst place ever the nurse tried to say something wrong with me but when I went to octapharma nothing want wrong with me... octapharma a better place... the nurse checked me at octapharma also... give this place zero stars if could... the nurse at octapharma more friendly than the one at biomat... I had went to octapharma the next day...
I arrived at 12:15pm on a Wednesday the facility closes at 7pm . I was told to come back tomorrow they had 4 new donors ahead of me. I informed them I drove an hour to get here they said we can't take you!
had a bad experience my last two visits . first bad experience they stuck my vein incorrectly and had to keep wiggling the needle around in my vein like every 10 minutes ,when i left my arm was sore and bruised by the next day. on my most recent visit i was not paid ,i have called customer service and i'm now waiting on a response .I have a feeling something fishy was going on when i seen how few people where there to donate compared to how it use to be
It should not take 3 hours to donate. The employees move at the pace of a snail. They do not care about getting the donors in and out. I understand they have to be there all day but that dont mean we need to be. Then theyre always standing around gossiping and laughing. You'd think management would do something but nope.
Are y'all closed on Sunday or Mondays. I can't yesterday couldn't donate. The sign and the person that cancelled me said I could come back tomorrow(today sun) meaning y'all would be open. Can't never get anyone on the phone but when u choose option for hours it says ur closed today sun, but website says ur closed on Monday.i need to know before it gets too late
I just tried donating today. Didn't get to donate full amount. Please don't fire anyone there. My arteries are difficult to find and feel for so it's no phlebotomist fault. I believe some of the machines are old and don't run well... Probably shouldn't have ate hot dogs last night (thought they'd be rich in iron).
I've been donating for almost two years. The staff is really good and for the most part it's a pretty quick process ( like an hour and a half) from start to finish. I originally started doing it because I didn't have a job but now I do it to save lives. The compensation is around 350 a month give or take so it is a monthly income.
I was deferred for baby bruise then had to wait multiple days for a worthless doctor to come in so I can donate. Trash organization
Update 4/13/2022- Finished donating at 1145am and it's 3pm and I still haven't been paid!!!..(this is the 4th time this has happened this year)...Called and got put on hold for 15min, the hung up on, and now no one will answer the phone...Guess I'll have to go back and complain to get my payment......again! Great sticking staff but management(lack there of) is horrible!...Been donating for 2yrs here to acheive V.I.P. donor status...When I reached the V.I.P. donor requirements, I was then told that program
It's the closest one to me and the city bus drops me off right at it. The people that work there are funny ,I'm always laughing but it can sometimes be a little long to get a table
Who is running this place? If I came in Monday why am I scheduled to come back 5 days later which is Christmas and the business is closed? It's a new week but I was told it's a new pay week what does that have to do with me coming in today which is Thursday or even Friday. You all have caused me to lose out on the extra $50 this week! Merry Christmas to Grifols
The new machines make it faster, but they still hit you with "low protein" and you cant donate for about a month!!! The nurse is lazy!!! Only working one day out if the week and when that person does "review" charts/labs even if you have been patiently waiting and not calling or going up there to check ( since they dont answer the phone) you are still likely to wait an addition week!! And another thing, I cant stand the lie they roll about waiting for a result to come back when in fact: 1. FedEx will not sh
Alexis is a hard worker and a good stick person she is like the best to me. Then she make sure she don't hurt the patient she are a good person and a hard worker. And we need more people like her.
Ms.Debbie Mason stuck me promptly and professionally...it was actually one of my faster times! She never fails to ask you how your day is going and will even chat about her favorite restaurants with you! Kudos to the grifols staff for only having the most caring and dedicated employees at your center.
My 1st visit lasted 5 1/2 hrs - 1 1/2 hrs before I could even start the screening process! And, I was screened then only because I became insistent on starting the process. Clinic was freezing. By the time I was finished, my body was shaking from the cold - staff even commented on how cold my hands were. Entire clinic lacked overall basic organization & staff didn't seem to know what they were supposed to be doing. I realize the S. Laburnum clinic has only been open a couple of weeks; perhaps staff are
Very Clean place and pretty Fast , one thing i don't like is that Most of the females who stick you in the back has LONG acrylic Nails which is not suppose to have which make the sticking a lot more uncomfortable. In the Medical Field It's an hazard, and not allowed. They need to put the rules on them more!
The first time I went as a new donor I waited for an hour and a half to even have my name called before I gave up because I witnessed the employees giving another employee a hard time and bully her, then proceed to talk about her and socialize all up at the front desk. The second time I had a much better experience thanks to Paul! However, I had been referred by my husband and him by his friend. NEITHER OF THEM has received their referral bonus and when I inquired about it at first Paul helped me but when I
I've been donating for a few years now off and on. There are 2 locations that are close to where I live. The one on Hull St Rd and Belt Blvd and this location. I literally drive right passed the Hull St location to get to this one. For many reasons. 1)The professionalism is far greater at this location. Not perfect but far greater. 2) The donation payment is a flat rate and not based off your body weight. No matter how much you weigh, everyone gets paid the same. 3) The donation payment is higher here. I we
The staff doing the IV's need more training. I've been a paramedic for 12 yrs. The worst Patient First you could imagine is much better than here! I have NEVER had anyone miss my AC veins. They are huge and impossible to miss. Yet the first girl blew right through it! The second wasn't much better! Left a big bruise! Go somewhere else!
my experience was good . I have very small veins but they were able to get the needle with one stick. The staff check on you the whole time to make sure your alright .It took a total of 30 minutes to get my plasma and return my blood.
Drove half an hour to try and donate. Yesterday they said they weren't taking new people because they had 20 new people waiting and today they refused me because they had 6 new people donating and weren't accepting anymore. Waste of a drive and time. I'll find somewhere else to donate.
It was ?lean efficient fast was very comfortable.someone had a health problem and they were swift awesome
I visited before, was turned down because I didn't have certification of where I got my tattoo done, I went back after getting it and they still turned me down. No explanation as to why, I was calm and didn't say much but the lady didn't even look at me she just stuck my id card out and said "have a nice day" in the most unpleasant tone.
I used to donate there and I was asked to give a blood sample during my visit on 6/2619, I came back on 6/28/19 and was asked to give another blood sample and was told that I couldn't donate until the results came back within 7 days, well its been over 3 weeks and somehow I have to give them another sample because obviously someone either doesn't know how to do their job, I was told that my sample was either damaged or it was clotted. I have reported this issue to cooperate office
i did not have any trouble. i drink plenty of water the day before, which helped my donation process move a lot faster. I also ate plenty vegestables and protein before I went to bed that night. The best time to donate is as soon as they open. The more prepaired you are the better your donation will be.
The worse ever. SMH at the employees. All they do is talk if your having a meeting what's the reason to talk so much. It's also unprofessional to talk about your clients. They come in to work with an attitude, and the managers OMG some of them are straight out disrespectful. Watch out for them because they will mess you up. Even though they now open a hour early it doesn't make it any faster. Learn how to stick!!! I had a medical problem over 20 years ago, when I first donated i told them about this. Almost a
The staff is friendly and courteous. They are, within reason, willing to accommodate their donors, and check on their comfort during the donation process. If one is planning on becoming a plasma donor, I very much recommend Grifoks of Biomat.
i think corporate needs to come in and train the employees here. for 1.. every employee you call and talk to will give you a different answer to the same question. i finally got a new social and drove from colonial heights and then was told i could not donate without an appointment yet i talked to the guy there not an hour before then and he said to come in and i could donate. for 2.. they do appointments only during certain hours but what is the point of setting an appointment time when you are not even se
The staff is sweet helpful and very good at answering questions u ask I don't have any bad feelings towards anyone who works there all hard working and will lend a ear if u need to talk
New donor appt today. Everyone was pleasant and very helpful. First appt is long but you get a good explanation of the process, lab tests and almost a complete physical. The phlebotomist was well trained and pleasant, plan on going back again
I have been donating woth grifols centers for 15 years and have never seen a more poorly run and unprofessional staff as i have this location. They call you for specials and when you get there the very ignorant little girl at the front say..."aint noone call you"... Voicemails had to be played on speaker phone for her ghetto attitude to change. Now they change to appointments only and when i was in there wednesday not one sign nor staff advised that apointments are necessary for saturdays. I have been misha
The place isn't bad but there is no available water at all. They say drinking water helps but there isn't even a working water fountain in the building. And I've been coming here for months.
I was very leary of going to Biomat because I read alot of bad or not so nice reviews. Well, let me tell you I had nothing to worry about everyone has been very nice and friendly. Best of all everything they do they explain ahead of time. Great Job. Employees
I have been donating plasma for a long time . and i came back to grifols because i was treated very bad at a different center in Richmond. I have to say grifols is the best place to donate. The employees are very nice and they treat you very good. they care about the donor and they tell me thank you every time i'm there. I am so happy with them and i will be here to donate every week . Thanks to all the staff for do a great job.
I have had problems with these people The blood Tech's are not properly supervised and will make mistakes I've been treated badly and I've been denied the ability to donate because of a bruise on my arm that the blood Tech's put on my arm because they are not properly trained and each time I try to get it straightened out. They claim I am at fault to cover there selves if I was not so desperately in need of money I would not deal with them.im looking for a new place to deal with. Also I have spoken to so
This company is the only one that makes people uncomfortable. The employees are very rude and stay on the phone not attending to their patients. The employees spend more time gossiping about others than work.
This place is pretty nice and clean. Sometimes the people give you candy. Plus despite seeing your chart the seem to know your name before you come up. Thanks Grifolds
Some of ur Managers are very rude unprofessional an lack the skills of I got in the back at 9:20am on the bed now I didn't get stuck until 11:20 their were 5 people that came behind me an they were stuck before me how those that happen that's not fair to me I had to wait an when you try to explain to them it's like they don't care something needs to be done u need to send someone to this place an show them how to run this place correctly it would be alot better
Let me tell you something I have 3 valid points to talk about: 1st they have lost their faith of leadership. Employees clock in stare at you comment on us as donors in our face and gossip all day long in the front of the building sounding like a high school cafeteria. 2nd they have no employees but a lobby full of strong customers. Some days they make up a lie at the end of the day because of the under staffed facility and tell us as donors or your temp 99.3. You sick we gotta turn you away today. 3rd t
I have been donating a long time mow so I know how the staff is and never complain, but I went to management at the time and address my complaints and the next time I tried to donate I could not and someone told me they put something I my file wouldn't tell me what and said that I to talk to higher management before I can donate again so if you want to donate here DO NOT TALK LET THEM TREAT YOU HOW THEY WANT OR YOU WILL NOT HERE
The staff here was completely rude and uneducated I was denied donating, for they wouldn't accept my DD form 2-14. Their website says "printed with your full name and entire Social Security number" which is clearly printed on the DD form 2-14. Their reasoning for this denial is the form says not to be used as a form of identification, however so does a social security card. When I brought this to their attention they said they understood that's why you need a matching drivers license or ID. I had a matchin
On Friday August 11th 2017 The lady that set me up to the machine messed me up and the machine up and made it have a bulb bust and I lost a lot of blood only got through the first two cycles and didn't get my blood back or Celine. Since then my legs arms and fingers have been really shaky and I have been having bad cramps and headache's. I want this resolved I can't donate agin until October 6th 2017 this just pisses me off and I'll be off in college so now I have to wait till I go on fall break whenever th
I think this is great place to come to to not only earn extra money but I'm helping save a life...The staff has always been pleasant and sweet I come twice a week I love it..
Today is September 15 2017 i was scheduled at 11:15am, this is my second visit When i arrived at 11:14am a brown skin younglady At the front Desk know I came before she was one of the unprofessional employees who told me i cant donate do to mailing issues the last visit but i showed them my voter registration they denied it i say ok and went home. I got a call from my wife she talk to a manager he say sorry for the inconvenience and set up a time and date. Now this visit the same younglady is there but anoth
I am only giving a star because you can't give zero. It keeps getting worse. Your first few donations you make $60-70. Then they just drop it down,to $25 without saying something. Not much more than a scam.
My guy with dreads (DJ)is one of the few workers who value our time as well as his own...very knowledgeable and down to earth. Thanks Thanks
My friend went to octapharma on 2 occasions. The first occasion I sat in the car because I was told I couldn't donate because of my cast. So, I wasted gas driving up there to be turned away. (However, I was told by an octapharma victim outside that said she'd been waiting on her money for two days. She also informed me that the plasma donation center downtown allows people to donate with a cast.) My friend stil donated. He said went through a lengthy pre screening process. He waited around for about 2 hours
Great place to start to make a difference. Friendly and professional staff. Plus very helpful if u need some extra money.
I've been donating at biomat for a little over 2 years now and haven't had any problems yet. The employees are kind and curtious and the over all vibe just feels safe.
First two experiences were great. Now the third time I'm sitting here in a bed and I've completed my donation, still with a needle in my arm, 15 minutes later...
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
