Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the friendly, professional staff who create a welcoming atmosphere and make donations comfortable. Many highlight efficient service and skilled technicians, though some note long wait times despite appointments. Negative reviews cite inconsistent service, unprofessional behavior, and strict policies (e.g., vein suitability, weight limits, medical deferrals). A few mention racial insensitivity or poor management. While many donors appreciate the incentives and positive environment, others feel the center’s limitations and occasional staff attitudes outweigh the benefits.

Most of the staff are good people. The big problems here are they have problems with staff turnover. They also have issues with opening on time due to staff being late. All of this could be dealt with. The worst issue is that they don't have any concerns about your time. They will put some customers ahead of others and if you stand up for yourself and say something, they simply cancel future appointments and list them as deferred. Essentially they ban you for sticking up for yourself and don't say anything

Staff is friendly and seem genuine in their concern for your comfort and safety. The back room staff work quickly to get you in and out given the number of staff working the donation room. There are several areas for process improvement, such as getting appointments in on time and ahead of walk-ins. Also, better initial screening to ensure your arm has healed enough to donate again. If they can't get a line started, remember you don't have to let them keep trying. You should be aware of the physical outcom

I've always had a good experience at this location. I was late for my appointment on 5/5/25 and was informed I would need to be rescheduled, which annoyed me even further as I was already annoyed due to running late. I walked out without acknowledging Steve, which was rude on my part. I apologized upon returning and Steve accepted my apology. I feel he handled the situation professionally. The staff here have to deal with a lot and I think they do a great job and have thick skin.

I have been donating here for about 6 months and I have to say I love the staff (shoutout to Rie, Xia, Jamie, and David! They are awesome!) but reyko(I think that's how you spell it) and the upper management is awful. I have donated at different times throughout the months and what I have seen is horrid. Reyko is never to be found, when she is found she is either yelling at other people to take over her or trying to find a reason to walk off the floor and not help them while saying ?we need to get caught up

My first time Donating ever in my life (I went in 6:30am on a Tuesday morning), everything went well, best service and staff members. Brianne made the whole experience very smooth and comfortable from the checking in, the screening, to the physical and everything needed to donate. She was very reassuring, genuine and will answer any questions needed. Jamie explain the process throughly, answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable that if I needed anything to just ask her or any staff member pa

My first donation experience was long, but overall fine. The problem came up the third time I went in. After waiting 35 minutes and going through the entire pre-donation screening, I was pulled into a back room and informed that an error had been made in my initial medical screening and that I wouldn't be able to donate until I had a doctor complete a form because I'm a type 2 diabetic. While the medical screening questions ask if you've ever been diagnosed as diabetic, at no point in my first visit or in t

I've donated over the years to the other Plasma centers... But Grifols is by far the most structured and Surpasses the Great Customer Service Bar. Xia , Jeremy and David. The entire staff are Amazing.. Rylie Ann and Alyce are Awesome too ??

This is my first time coming here! Everyone is super nice! The center is nice and clean. It's quiet around the morning time which I love. The app is super easy to use! Can't wait to donate a lot here!

This place is great as long as you're nice to them they will be nice to you! Lorena did a great job getting me unhooked from the machine. She is very friendly and approachable

A good location and a better staff. Lorena is always so warm and welcoming! The high-spirited culture is always appreciated, and I'm sure, helps many unnerved volunteers as well!

Wonderful staff! I wish I could remember their names but Rylie is one i remember. She was very friendly and proficient.

It's getting progressively worse. Corporate and management don't care about your time. There is not enough staff. My wait times are now about 1.5 to 2 hours before you actually START the donation process. There are plenty of empty beds and machines.

Lorena was so amazing! She made me feel safe and cared for. She made great conversation. Overall amazing phlebotomist. She also has cool tattoos!

Lady working the front desk is a terrible has a terrible attitude and can tell she absolutely hates her job. She doesn't treat you as a customer to the establishment but as a problem adding to her other problems. The wait time to get screened is exhausting but once in the chair the people and professional and friendly. Place could use a remodel but clean for the most part.

It is the worst place. my brother-in-law was yesterday and they made him wait 2 hours. At the time of the evaluation, he was asked his answers about whether he is white or Hispanic, although he showed all his documents, they made him delete his answer and change it to Hispanic, asked him to read 2 paragraphs and explain them to see if he understood. He was forbidden to speak Spanish even though he was only speaking to them in English. And at the time of the donation, they made a mistake, my brother-in-law e

The service of this place has deteriorated overtime. My first break came because I called twice after a week, then went to the donor lab to be told my labs aren't back yet. So, I stopped for a while. Because instead of looking or asking for help the young lady just told me they didn't have it. I always hear back in a week. I asked a lady not to stick the full needle all the way into my arm stick another vein because I got 2-3 good veins on both arms. Instead I was told 'I don't have to come back." So, I sto

This location is HORRIBLE. They make you set an appointment, but then they have you sitting and waiting for hours before you even get to the back to get stuck. The staff uses more time talking than they do working. They do not care about the donors AT ALL.

Do not donate here. I donated last Tuesday and the phlebotomist who pierced my vein caused an infiltration, after which they had someone restick my other/right arm. Came back on Friday, waited 45 minutes for them to screen me just to tell me I couldn't donate because of the bruises they caused on Tuesday. Fast forward to today, had an appointment at 5:30. Waited 50 minutes in the lobby this time just for them to tell me I couldn't donate for the second time, this time because "my pulse was too high". This p

Just heard the most pettiest confrontation between two staff members it led to one deciding to go on lunch and the other one went into the plasma room to leave us people waiting for a booth with no staff to see us for about 30 minutes.... It wasn't even the other staffs fault it was they/them named Sophia fault you can tell she's petty and says things after the fact when you could have helped your coworker put during the fact. Perty

They make you make an appointment now, but you'll still be waiting over an hour after your appointment time to be stuck. Makes absolutely no sense.

Tried donating 2 days ago and was told their needles are too big so I can't donate. I've never had a problem before when I used to go to fife. Then my husband tried to donate and they told him he was too heavy because he weighs about 20lb over what their beds can hold. This is ridiculous we get told y'all need plasma to help save lives but then you have all these small problems that you could easily fix. I suggest getting smaller needles and heavy duty beds so that everyone can donate.

Been coming here for a while maybe more than a year? I enjoy coming here and do my part, every single staff here are great hard workers, since Nikkie started here. I've always seen a smile on her face, and also have a sweet soft voice! Great job to everyone working at this place. ????

Still debating on staying for the money. My first donation took almost five hours My second it took over a hour to get me screened. Then about 45 min to get sticked. It usually takes me 30-45 min to complete a donation. Third and forth it just don't seem worth the wait. The employees have these attitudes. There is one gal with dark hair and a braid she never wants to help anyone and will huff when anyone has a question. I'll avoid her now but she makes the work place hostile. The other employees just seem

Great place! Vary nice stay and you get payed well for your time

Seems like a good place but the wait times and attitude of half the workers is really weird. Half the workers are really cool but have to adapt to the weird vibes they're leads give everyone. And the system seems really good but then again half the staff will ignore you and just keep having personal conversations amongst themselves. The employees have changed a lot, much better. But If you donate here you should try out octapharma like 15 minutes away in fife, i think it would show everyone how much quicke

Jamie and karyme They are funny and make it worth while to come in, they give you friendly conversations, make you laugh, n day better

I just started donating and did my first 4 donations. Facility itself, clean. Staff, great - super friendly, professional, good attitudes, nice to be around. Really good vibes and seems like everyone gets along and it'd be a nice work environment. Actual donation process, fine - all easy to understand and comfortable enough. Waiting time - SO BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! All the star deductions are because of how horribly inefficient the entire process is. Ignoring the first visit which was disclosed would take a lo

I won't ever go in this plasma center again. That phlebotomist David .. is always hitting on me... And asking me inappropriate questions... He even gave me his phone number when he split from his wife.

This place sucks, lack of employees & lack of attention to people who came in ready to be poked. Not a good place indeed try CSL plasma

Great experience I will continue to come back! Everyone is so friendly and considerate and environment was clean. The phlebotomist Nikkie is one of the sweetest people I've met and her pokes are always so smooth. All staff here are just great but she stands out the most to me by far.

I have been at this facility for about six months. An I have had nothing but pleasant and professional interactions. But one employee above them stands out when it comes to getting my plasma drawn and that's Nikkie! Excellent stick Excellent conversation and wonderful personality that brightens up the experience. She patient, professional, and knowledgeable of all aspects in plasma. If she does not know something she is not afraid to admit and get assistance or the required knowledge for it. I highly sugges

I've been a regular donor for quite awhile now. The staff are regular, friendly and caring. They are understanding of individual needs and answer questions efficiently. Before you donate eat a protein heavy meal so your strong during and after your appointment. They have monthly new donor specials that vary with rates that are stable for regular donors. Enjoy your experience, save lives. Keep an open mind. Maybe bring a blanket for your legs. :)

My experience here was nothing short of amazing. I've been here about 10 years ago and this place has upgraded dramatically in so many ways. It's so clean and sanitized. The diligence and the professionalism is outstanding. And the staff all around is so knowledgeable, social and friendly. I look forward in getting to know every single hard working person here!!! And the compensation is respectable!!!

Went there for years, no issues. Stopped for a while, during which I was put on SSI, diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Get there at the buttcrack of dawn when the place opened to reapply, to get told I can NEVER DONATE THERE AGAIN because of my Schizophrenia diagnosis. Then I am told the nearest place that would accept ' someone like me' was in Fife. I guess it's not as bad as how another friend of mine is not allowed to donate there either because he happened to be gay before a specific year.

Lorena is very professional and good at administering the needle in hard to find veins.

No issues with the staff however, I've had to leave twice and cancel my visit due to the excessive wait time. Waiting for an hour to be screened, another 45 mins to get stuck and then wait to be unhooked...3 hours for $40 and $70 just isn't work it...for that amount of time I could be a new donor else where with a higher payout. Don't think I'll be going back. There were several people complaining who had also been waiting for a long time.

They have seriously untrained people stabbing people in the arm with needles. I work full time and I donate in order to afford bills. My last two visits the esthetician stabbed my arm instead of my vein. And didn't even explain to me what was happening or that I couldn't donate. Now they just send me home again because of the bruising caused by that girl stabbing my arm. No type of compensation. This is the worst place to give plasma, find another location. They mess with peoples schedules and treat people

Long wait my first time coming in is my only complaint. But Nikkie has such an outgoing & positive personality it placed me in a better mood. She definitely has the magic touch when it comes to poking with a needle!

I have been donating at the same location for several years I've done 425 donations. This place used to be great. Unless there was some sort of massive hiccup I could always count on my ?stick? being done within 15-30 min of my appointment time. I want to make it clear that I am as i always have been, very impressed with the phlebotomists. I see them regularly moving and working quickly and efficiently. Today I waited more than 45 minutes just to be screened and an additional 42 minutes before being stuck w

Staff are so amazing. They have a strong team so not alot of turnover. You can still make an appointment so no endless lines. I always feel comfortable in asking questions. I get to watch television while I'm donating. But what I really appreciate the most is that I trust the staff to do things correctly. I've thought about donating elsewhere but I keep coming back to Tacoma Grifols. A+ Experience!

If you want genuine people and a healthy environment while you donate plasma this is the place to go! Not only are the workers nice, they are super helpful to answer any question you might have pertaining to your donation or your donation experience! Dalila takes her time to make sure you're okay a doesn't rush through the donation process she deserves a raise, she definitely cares not only about the donor but their experience as well. She's extremely nice an will help out anyone so don't be afraid to ask a

Great incentives for beginners and staff is awesome

Usually good. But problem is they will lie to you if you get a bruise cause of them and they tell you you can come back in 2 days. I waited an extra 3 days and came in and they told me I couldn't donate. Waste of time and waste of gas and their pay structure is I got 40 on my last donation and this one would have been 80 but since the week starts over on Monday I would only qualify for the 40. And I can't donate again til they look at my arm from there doctor which is here only on wed. And so you have to wa

I had a great experience. Nikkie, the phlebotomist, was nothing short of amazing and very knowledgeable at what she does. Wonderful customer service skills and very friendly. She made feel very comfortable. Thank you so much!

Great place. Super clean. Ask for Nikkie. She's amazing. Very polite and friendly. She's great at what she does. I never even felt the poke. She's awesome. Hands down my favorite. I'll definitely keep going back

Went to donate and the website says all you need as an id and to know your social but whoever was up front was very rude and demanded my card. Had i known about HAVING to have the card present i wouldve brought it since its in my safe at home. But nowhere did it say that you HAVE to have your card. Either way wont be returning based on how the front desk person acted. Ill be donating elsewhere

My name is Mykel and this staff is a absolute joy to be around . Every time I come in it never just feel like your donating it feels like your engaging with family from the time you enter till you leave your greeted with nothing but smiles and good energy . I love the experience every time I Come In great people doing gods work they are really a blessing to the community . Often understaffed but still positive and polite You guys are the real SUPER STARS Thanh you all for your personality?s and profess

Reiko is the best she is friendly and great at her job didn't even feel the needle go in will be back just for her ??

Staff is friendly and over worked seems like upper management doesn't want to adequately staff the center so it makes it unfair to donors and those working the front and the floor with ridiculously high wait times! Took 40min to be screened another 25 once on the bed to be stuck and an additional 12 minutes to be disconnected once done! Reiko is a GEM and needs a raise in my opinion very hard working!

Everything from start to finish is a joke at this place, except most of the staff who seem like they're overworked and under appreciated working for a company that is all kinds of backwards. The check in process gave zero information on how long the process would take, why I was waiting 40 minutes before being given readings, then another 45 minutes before being given a video to watch. The physical was perfunctory without actually assessing for safety. The appointment process is unnecessarily difficult and

Thoroughly impressed with the staff about being prompt and doing the best they can. I always ask for nikkie when she's in because she sticks very well and doesn't hurt afterwords, it's always a plus because the time is usually less than an hour 10/10

Nikkie and Marie?s energy is infectious! I appreciate their commitment in creating a welcoming environment! Their success rate at sticking is at a near 100%. I think I'll stick with them, or maybe the other way around! ????

Janhet the best worker I have ever seen at grifols. She always goes above and beyond !!! I HIGHLY recommend just because of my experience with her.

Overall, a very professional business environment. Olivia is always very pleasant & goes above & beyond to connect with her clients. She contributes well to a simple, trustworthy experience. Thank you!

Overall, its a good place and 99% of the staff are courteous, efficient, fast and friendly, with good care-manners. There is one staff that I don't care for at all though, as she was very abrupt and unfriendly and discourteous. I purposely avoid her now and request different screeners. Everyone else is nice so I dont know what her problem with me is. I'll report her if she is rude to me again.

We attempted to donate plasma. We were told that we had to wait for two days because the doctor needed to review our information and would be contacted on Wednesday when the doctor was in?the doctor is only on once a week. We were never reached out to and so we called Thursday. They said the doctor did not review our case and this did not happen. The staff is very unprofessional. They talk very openly about their personal business and customers so we can hear. We will not go back! I also want to mention tha

Most of the staff is good, but I am especially grateful when Nikkie is my phlebotomist, as she is extraordinarily nice and soft spoken and makes the process much more pleasant.

Best staff ever and the one that stands out to me the most is Nikki Wenker she is so awesome of an employee always here with a smile and very professional and super friendly she always makes me laugh and smile . I've been coming here for two years now and I alwayslook forward to coming to the Tacoma biomat it's like family here . Thank you again Nikki for always making me smile and laugh and feel at home .

A great and welcoming place to donate plasma. The whole staff is wonderful, but you'd have to call me mendacious if I said my favorite phlebotomist wasn't Nikkie! She is always kind and helpful!

The techs do there best when it comes to stressful situations. The techs do talk to the donors to relieve their stress of being poked. Never had a bad experience here. And manager Barbara showing and helping everyone to do there best and beyond.

I donated here once and Nikkie was very thorough at explaining everything to me about how the machines worked and the donation process itself. She really put me at ease with my needle fear since I have very difficult veins, she has a gentle touch I couldn't even feel it going in. I would ask for Nikkie if you plan on donating and have any concerns about the needle itself.

I would like to thank Barbara & Rome in the Tacoma location for having and keeping excellent work ethic. I've witnessed some very rude and irrate individuals. They handled some of these negative situations professionally with workers integrity. Please keep up the great job. ??????????????

Went to this place and was denied because of my mental illness. I have Schizophrenia, and was told that it was ?deffered? and therefore rejected , even after I was good to go from the other tests they took from me. I wasn't even told why , and would?ve appreciated it since I wasted time 3 times trying to get in in the first place. 1.) I wasn't even told to bring my SS CARD and was rejected . No reminders , not even on the website . 2.) I brought it today and they said I'm supposed to eat an hour before ? E

Susan the LPN and all the staff were amazing! Chris the Phlebotomist that set me up explained each step in detail. Accept for not having a blanket, the experience was so much better than I imagined. I went back the following Friday! The only thing I will say is that the criteria seems to differ when you return for a subsequent donation. I had a bruise on my right arm when I arrived for my third donation. I intended them to use my left which is amazing to draw from. They refused me because there was what th

i donated a total of three times here, the first two went just fine, i just suffered some bruising which was obviously expected, but the third time was definitely enough to make me decide not to go back. they inserted the needle wrong, my veins run sideways and they put it in like they're normal, causing the needle to consistently be blocked by the vein, it took three or four different staff to try to readjust the needle before the process finished, and then the return went horribly, something happened and

Tacoma biomat is absolutely great place to donate at. I have been coming in for about a year 1/2 and in that time I have only had one negative experience and it really wasn't really even major just annoying. All the staff is great and try there best to make you feel comfortable. (Special shout to Paris Dalia, alondra, Karyme , and Darren these people are some of the greatest people you could ask to stick you with a needle ???? lol talking to them and listening to there banter makes it a pleasure to donate

I'm a recent return donor and all I can say is that the staff was even more friendly and efficient at getting me in and out than I remember. I love the online appointment booking its very easy to use. When I arrived Alisha welcomed me warmly and answered all of my questions and there were many. All staff I came into contact with made me feel at home and comfortable and explained everything thoroughly and I really appreciated it! Destiny my technician was so funny and made me relax when I was a bit nervous

I have been coming to this location for quite awhile and in the last year or so I have seen new faces but one that sticks out has got to be Darren. Darren always has a good attitude and is great at engaging customers in conversation and getting the job done quickly and effectively, so that we can get our donations done and continue with our day! Thank you Darren!!

They have a great team here. Very efficient. Great way to help someone in need m. Shout out to Nikki, one of the best pokers. Barely feel it

I have witnessed this particular location grow over the time that I've been privileged to give in order for another to see another healthy day. We are living in times of rapid change however, there are a few that don't allow these changes to affect their behavior in a work environment. Thank you to Nikki & Christopher for having a absolutely beautiful glow towards their empathy, acknowledgement & joyous attitude of those they assist within this challenging field proceeded. Please continue to obtain lifes

What's the point on scheduling an appointment? The front of the house is inattentive, your screening time doesn't matter. This place has lost A LOT of traffic and I'm beginning to see why. Go to the plasma center in Fife, it's not much of a drive and it's better than dealing with this places garbage.

I have had nothing but good experiences here. Reiko, Par?s, Dalila, Karyme, Janeth, Barb, Nikkie, Alondra... (I know I'm forgetting people!) They learn your name, they're friendly. They're kind, and they're extremely competent. I am glad to be coming to this Biomat.

The first time I had gone to this place it was a good experience, the lady which I had forgotten her name was very professional and had no issues what so ever. The second time I had gone in it was horrible I wanted my right arm to be used instesd and it went alright until the guy said he had messed up and had to use my other arm and then they had 3 other people trying to insert a new needle and for some reason they couldn't not find the vien they poked and picked and probed nearly a dozen time between them

Most of the staff members are really fun to interact with while still being professional. Worked with Olivia for today's donation and as expected she didn't let me down ??

The staff is friendly. One of my recent visits, Paris was able to withut any problem get my vein in my left arm. She is willing to help and always cheerful.

Grifols was unprofessional to say the least, Their staff is incompetent, unprofessional, and rude. Let me start by saying I am a veteran of the medical field with a 16 year career and have moved up in my scope of practice starting as a phlebotomist. their Phlebs are only required to have their cert and are trained on the JOB which is not concerning, this is common. but their lack of skill and oversite is appalling. Twice now I have been turned away because someone could not stick me, "usually shuffling the

I started my plasma donation journey at grifols and I've seen this place evolve into a great facility. Reiko has had a long history here and no matter what she also has a smile on her face welcoming the donors new and old.

Watch out for that new guy Ivan his coworker had to readjust someone and he blew a vein on someone else. I've had great experiences with the females and older taller worker here but that guy can't poke

Everyone at this facility is so sweet and patient. They get very busy sometimes, and yet still keep a warm smile on their faces. They never make anyone feel rushed.

I've donated at this place before, 3 years ago. I called twice before coming in to make sure they took walk ins for new donors and asked what i needed. Everyrhing was fine. I finally get there, give them my information, they take me back, and I was told because I only have one good vein in my left arm that I might not beable to donate, my right arm has always had issues with any sort of blood draws ect. I have Never heard of that and I've donated at octapharma the last year and never had an issue and have

Went in today and everything went smooth and quick. Janeth made my experience comforting and Quinlyn was quick and effective to get me back to my day. You all are great.

Don't recommend they changed to much stuff especially for new donors it used to be if you haven't donated with them for over a year you qualify as a new donor and you would get the bonus's but now it doesn't apply it's just a scam will not be coming back here ever don't waste your time....

Olivia , niki , such amazing gals, professional, friendly, hard work. I love all workers, professionalism, very friendly. Barbara is hard working ska amanzing ,humble to her co workers

Make sure you have your questions ready before you drive over to this place especially if you are driving across town. I drove from SeaTac all the way to Tacoma for them to tell me that I'm not yet a new donor but I have to go through the entire four hour process because they haven't taken a blood sample although I am still considered a returned owner lol the most confusing and unorganized process I have dealt with. Not to mention I'm here because I obviously don't have gas in my truck, management is rude t

I have donated at a few different places and Grifols is by far the best and fastest.Their staff is definitely more friendly and better skilled then other places. I highly reccomend requesting Karyme, Dalila, or Monica.. Theyre the best and fastest in my experience! Everyone else is great too though!!

New donor here, came in 0930 and left 1150. Knowledgeable staff and humble. Looking forward donating more plasma in the future.

When u have a set appointment you still have to wait 30mins to a hour just to get checked in and then an extra 20-25 mins to get hooked up I don't feel like it worth the money they give $40 then $80 but mind you in their policy the wait time is 90 mins the whole process

I thank God for Grifols. Their service is great and the purpose of their mission is admirable. Also I would like to give a personal 5 stars to Paris. She is very knowledgeable and approachable and great at listening. Thank you Paris for all you do.
