Grifols Biomat USA Van Nuys, CA

I can't rate this center highly enough. Compared to another company's center that I used to visit, this place is heaven. The entire team are efficient and personable. I never imagined donating plasma could be as enjoyable an experience as it is here. With life being as hectic as it is these days, it's nice to know that I can come here, relax for a little while and trust the professionals to handle everything. The facility is clean and well maintained. There's an abundance of front, rear and street parking.

Nobody answers the phone very often if you have to call and reschedule. They don't make you wear headphones like they used to for your phone, and believe it or not the sound carries, but they seem to be lack a dasical about it unless you say something loud enough, and even then they don't completely remedy the situation. They just move you instead of makin g the person turn off their phone. Which to me plays to the person that was causing the interruption in the first place. They need to exercise their aut

Have had no issues getting in and out in the mornings, but they do have a serious understaffing issue in the afternoon and evenings. The last two times I donated after 2pm I had to wait an hour after my donation was complete to be unplugged from the machine. All the employees have been very nice, and I understand staffing issues aren't their fault, but I hope reviews bring this issue to attention so it can be addressed.

I understand that beggars can't be choosers, and that's exactly how it feels at this Grifols location. No matter the day or time, the process moves at a glacial pace. I've tried coming at different hours in hopes of a quicker experience, but it's always a 1.5 to 3-hour ordeal. The most frustrating part is that while donors wait for a bed or to be disconnected, the staff seem to have plenty of time for jokes and socializing. I just started here. But the orientation process was seamless. Facility members were really kind, gentle, professional. Bathrooms are always super clean. And everything is pretty much easy. Breezy. Once you check in, you'll be taken care of no problem.

Great place. The employees are all nice and professional. The management runs it smoothly. The one employee that stands out to me is Delaiah she has a great attitude,perfect smile and an Amazing work ethic. Always makes me feel welcome.

This place consistently takes over an hour just to get you on the machine. Then another half hour to get you off after you are done, sitting there with a needle on your arm for no reason. Horrible waste of time. If you donate for quick cash, this is not the place. 3 hours for 40$ is not even minimum wage.

I use to donate about two years ago and returned two years after - if you can commit to coming twice a week it's a decent amount of extra cash to have. Don't recommend, hardest to get into and they don't have it together. Was promised a bonus that I now have to do extra steps and wait for my money. I'm not doing anything extra to get paid what I was promised I won't be donating at this location anymore

I had slurs about black women thrown at me and none of the staff did anything. It took me defending myself after having to be called so many things and told many negative stereotypes about black women for a manager to calm the situation. Compared to other plasma locations I've been to in the past Grifols is 10/10. I've been donating at this location consistently since June 2024 and I've never had any issues or complaints. When you sign up, they offer a new donor bonus for completing 4 donations in 30 days. After my first 2, they callled and said something was wrong, but wouldn't tell me what over the phone. Said I had to come in so I did. Apparently I hadn't eaten enough protein. So they tested and it came back the same again. Then they never called and said I was good after a retest. Rachael always sticks me good and she's the greatest phlebotomist in the center goes over and beyond. But as far as the machines I have to give ???????? where it use to take me 33-40 min it's now taking 2-3 hrs.

It's unfortunate what the workers there will treat you like as you're trying to ?save lives.? There's a floor worker there named Dalilah or however it is spelled that is rude and seems to hate her job! I've donated here before and have never encountered this kind of disrespect which is probably why they don't have loyal donors. As someone who hardly ever leaves negative comments, this one is deserved and I hope they implement kinder changes toward the patients whom are showing up.

Zero stars if I could, since when do new donors get front of the line? While you have 5 people waiting to connect and have been waiting over 1.5 hours

Rude staff, first vist took an hour just to get the physical done, then a little over 2 hours to actually start donation. Showing up on time means you wait for an hour but get there 3 mins late and they get all pissy like you aren't getting ripped off considering you basically get pocket change for your plasma compared to the actual market price.

And this is also following multiple problems from others we've brought here. Only one of their employees (that we've encountered) knows how to properly conduct a stick. I donated here for 7 years and filed a complaint with Grifols against the BioMat Van Nuys director. They do not honor loyalty or donor care. You are treated rudely and they fail to listen to the donors who support their jobs. However, they demand respect. I am disappointed and we no longer own shares of stock with this organization.
