It's truly a shame that I've been denied to donate because I have tattoos at the Bristol VA location. I've tried twice now to donate because I really care about the cause of it. The first time I was denied because of my tattoos. The second time I was denied because of my hematocrits for being one number below the threshold, which I sort of understand but the lady was not pleasant to work with. She said to me ?if something happens to your tattoo if they let you donate don't come back here? then said ?if you
I went for the first time ever on January 15, 2025 to donate plasma. There was a very rude woman at the front desk that expressed her sarcasm because she had to wait a minute for me to pull up my personal information on my phone. When I got through all the preliminary checks and made to the plasma extraction the woman butchered my arm getting the pick line set. I couldn't use my right arm for 2 days and it's bruised all to hell. This place is a joke.
I've been donating at this location since January, and I've had an overall positive and enjoyable experience. Everyone is professional and kind and I've been able to save the extra cash to pay for couple vacations. Marlene is an absolute queen and knows her stuff! Honestly everyone is well trained and polite.
I have been going to plasma for 10 years in Bristol. It's a nice clean facility, the workers are friendly and they are good in sticking a needle in your arm. The nurses are always concerned about Your health. The registration is easy and the workers are seriously about getting your vital signs correct. I would recommend this site to anyone. It's helps the donor to have extra cash, with helping those who need plasma. It's a win win situation.
Very unprofessional due to residential services, we just moved here had mail that's been sent to us, post marked and everything and still can't donate. Not only that your only give 100$ in Roanoke, VA they give 140$ honestly the way I provided all acceptable documentation and still couldn't donate is unreasonable. A citizen of America that's provided everything you needed can't donate plasma. It's sad but it's okay I want this review to show that this is unacceptable to the community we live in.
Very pleasant people every time I come in I'm treated with the utmost respect and kindness and they are very professional throughout the entire process
Samples are taken, sent in & a week later results come back. But it seems every time that happens samples are out of range & you can't donate. Mainly because from the time they're taken till the time they actually get tested everything has broken down & it's not correct. Then when results do come back & everything is great you have to wait a week or more for a Dr to sign off on it... Why does it take a week? That knocks a lot of people out of extra money.
I applied for an open position at this company. Job interview went good. I'm an experienced CNA but unfortunately I wasn't offered the position even with medical background. Presented my resume and certifications to hiring manager. I don't quite understand considering this company trains people and will literally hire anyone off the street. Over all good interview with this company. I guess I just wasn't the right candidate for what they was looking for.
I have been going here almost a year and never had a real issue everyone has always been super nice ( Chris, Shady, Alli are the best) a few times had some issues with the person sticking but never anything terrible. I always enjoy Chris?s inappropriate jokes lol I guess this place isn't for everyone but it's not horrible.
My Bf went in there today to donate and the receptionist said that he had to have a piece of mail with his address on it. He showed them a picture of the letter and then she got snarky saying it had to have to the address on the outside of the envelope. What kind of letter has a date on the outside? When we finally got the picture of the date she smirked and said sorry it's too late for us to accept donors now. This is utterly ridiculous. This place definitely needs to get their staffing under control
I had the worst experience here today! I drove down to donate plasma for the first time. All my paper work was correct, passed the physical, and questionnaire. The blonde lady who helped me was great. I went back and the man starting my iv was preoccupied with singing to the load music, and snickering at his Co workers. He busted my vain in my arm and proceeded to let my blood spew onto the chair and floor... At this point his boss comes over and says they would take that one out and try again on my other
They are now calculating by height as well as the usual weight. Which has increased the amount everyone has to donate. But refuses to increase the pay. I get sick doing 800. They have now (without even informing me before hooking me up) increased me to 1,000. For reference, I'm barely 5?4
Never been treated so poorly. Won't even try to go back after the inhuman treatment. Never have I ever the older lady old old lady is a problem she clearly doesn't like her job or anything outside of it.. pure misery. Please hire better crew. And a better manager. Your current one is a liability. Almost like y'all don't want donars. Never had the feeling to get out as soon as enter somewhere. Shame
I've donated blood several times before but never plasma. I decided to give it a try for the first time. I had a great experience. I was there about 4 hours but it didn't really feel all that long. All the staff was super nice, helpful and informative. Especially the man that did my physical and such, pretty sure his name was Shawn.
I came in and was extremely dissatisfied with a number of things. First off, the receptionists were extremely rude and in attentive. When I went back for my donation, the workers (Michael and Chris) seemed more interested in making inappropriate jokes than doing their jobs properly. I was stuck in a bruised spot, directly through my vein. My forearm and bicep immediately began to swell. When attempting to let a staff member know, they were very slow to get to me, and didn't even fix the issue the first time
Very nice, friendly the staff feels like family
I generally enjoy coming here but there have been so many new people who are not thoroughly trained generally and I've had many times where they have done a mis stick in my vein and caused me to not get paid for that day. The reason always is, "That just happens", But it never happens to me unless it is someone new and relatively inexperienced, and even though they were signed off they should not be left alone until they are proficient. I generally enjoy coming but there are so many new people here as tu
Getting plasma drawn right now and the phlebotomist thinks he's a doctor. Tried telling me you can't be allergic to talcum powder. I have been for 35 years. Maybe he should stop pretending to be an MD. It does not comfort me when people speak ignorantly. Talk to an ENT, yes you can be allergic to baby powder/talcum. Please educate your people!
I have been coming for 4ish months. The facility I feel is great. They are fast and kind. Chris is especially kind. He is so personable and builds close relationships with everyone. He's also very competent at his job! Highly recommend!
Ever want to feel profiled as soon as you enter a place of "business" Look no further I would advise any other center. This one is clearly ran by incompetent emotional liabilitys. 4 centers, 100x10 donations nothing different. . Except the type of personality of the humans doing the examine. Cruelty inhuman treatment. From the time you walk in you can tell everyone there hates their job and life. Professionals should be able to keep their poor situations outside the workplace and keep their feelings to t
Shady, Dwayne, Alli, Chris, and Caleb make up an amazing staff. I've had nothing but positive experiences here!!!!
Grifols use to be a good place to come to make easy money, now it's terrible. Super understaffed because they pay the same as McDonald's and can't keep help. There is some good staff here but a lot like to stand around and talk about each other, just talk in general or are super rude. Takes forever to be set up and took down. I came in today expecting to get $110 because an employee said this was my 7th visit last week but it wasn't so I only got $35. I feel like everytime I come in this place it has got wo
I started donating over a year ago and was very pleased with the staff and the ability to earn a little extra money for vacations or extra things that come up. When Covid happened and they starting making appointments, coupled with my irregular schedule I was unable to continue to go on a regular basis and I stopped going. As things started to level out a bit with the world and my job I decided to start back again and made an appt. Since it had been over six months I had to basically start over again whi
I love donating here, the staff is great and there's free entertainment in the form of a loud blond lol
Awesome staff and great center! Super clean and always friendly!
I can't believe how unbelievably childish these workers are. A place where only the ?patient? is wrong and never the employee staff comprises of soft skinned individuals that go and do childish things like tattle tailing bc maybe you said a bad work I will say it again for the ones who don't understand. Your perception of me and what I do is not my reality. And for Chris to be such a big broader shoulders dude he sure is a crybaby
Rude staff. The website and on the phone it says to eat within 3 hours of donating. This guy felt the need to tell me if I hadn't eaten within the hour I would get sick and he didn't want to clean it up. I should have listened to the other reviews.
I haven't to donate in three years I finally come donate. I do physical thing and I just had to go get my physical address. I got that I went there six times before 3 o'clock and one time I called down there and the lady said I could be there between four and five you don't I don't and they tell me about again and I feel like it's because it's always me?. They really act funny towards certain people?
I've been donating here twice per week since July. It has become a part of my routine almost like a job. I will continue donating here as long as I can. The feeling of helping others, the friendly staff, and the pay make it a win-win-win! (Robin)
Nice staff, but they seem to pick and choose who they approve for donations. I'm a healthy individual who has passed every medical exam I've taken,, yet when I try to donate 5 times in the past, every time rejected for HBP, too much protein, or low blood count. And since their equipment is not out for display, you can't dispute their "numbers", just have to take their word. Update: Seems like "Owners Response" is very generic, so very likely that nothing will change. DONOR BEWARE.
The staff are friendly and mostly professional, however I was told I could not donate any longer because of an ear piercing from the 1980's that I forgot was there and did not mention when I first started donating over a year ago. Considering they have tested my blood numerous times since I first began, this is pretty idiotic. Not that me cancelling my 3 trips a month will matter but the sheer idiocy of this is enough to not want to return regardless.
Everyone here is so nice and always take good care of you during your visit
The older Staff an most of the men are extremely Inconsiderate an constantly blowing out my vein multiple times leaving giant raised bruises an they also refused to call me by my preferred name an make a big deal out of it when I only say my last name (when they ask for ur name an number) even tho no other place has ever had a problem with it I definitely strongly advise against this place it's not worth it.
Most of the staff is nice enough but the wait times are freaking crazy. It would move a hell of a lot faster if the staff would stop gossiping with each other and actually do their jobs. Sat here for 20 mins while they were doing nothing with a waiting room full of people. After 30 minutes they finally called one person out of 20 people waiting.
The staff is wonderfull. There nice, outgoing, always keeping a smile on everyone's face. I've had no problems out of them. When my blood pressure was high they let me sit down and wait and then they retook it and it was low enough to donte. There really clean and always make sure your okay. I freeze in there so I bring my blanket but they have to have it cold lol. ???????????? I love this place and the workers.
I came my first time friday...everyone was nice...I came back yesterday and Chris was extremely nice and friendly...i didn't even feel the needle....so my experience so far is amazing
A little busy sometimes but nice overall. They pay you less after 5 visits but I constantly get texts offering me bonuses to go back and donate again. At the very least you end up making 30 bucks for less than an hour's time sitting in a chair and playing on your phone. Can't beat that.
Money is good at first but after your first 6 or 7 visits it goes down I also had problems with pulse rate after failing 3 times just for pulse only once did they test me sitting down. After that I was referred to there Dr who only comes in once a week, who then told me I had to go see my Dr for high pulse after I done donated 6 times in a row. Nurses are nice and friendly but there ridiculous on little stuff like a pulse rate. If I have to go to the hospital there still going to stick me reguardless of
I've been going there for 3-4 yrs I think place is nice some staff are wonderful don't like the fees on the card but I guess that's normal you don't win anything ?? lol I've only got 1 shirt since I've been going there but I'm guessing that's normal also but all in all still good staff
The AM staff on Tuesday was excellent. David, Dawn, and Chris, just to name a few, were kind, courteous and helpful throughout the process. Glad to have become a new donors! That being said I highly recommend new donors come in the morning.
Wanted to participate in their Covid program Thought i could help someone. So i call for information. Was ask to bring proof of Identity,Residency & Medication. They told me they take walkin patients up untill 1 hour before closeing or i could make an appointment. I made and appointment .I was prepared . I drove an hour one way to their facility. Upon review of my medications because i take 2 meds for Depression they ask me to leave and bring back a letter of approval from my doctor stating i was fit to don
The staff is awesome. Very friendly and very nice!! You guys rock!!
Waiting times and nonsensical obstacles to donating have dramatically increased. Compensation has decreased and staff seems to be more interested in talking to each other than caring for clients.
This place is ridiculous. The staff is nice enough, but their procedures are REE-DICULOUS! I went there TWICE trying to donate plasma because my husband and I really needed the money. The first time my blood pressure was too high, which I understood as a problem because I didn't want a blown vein. But the second time I went, I made it through to the physical and for some reason could not donate without my primary physician's approval because I told them I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder -- which made ab
very unfrofessional they hire anyone to stick us and they make you get stuck by whos at your table no matter if they mess up on you or not no choices,if wasnt for us that donate making them billions over 1500 a bottle for little 30 and 40 we get they wouldnt be in bussiness, also they allow people to use phones in back and that means privacy violation cause anyone can take pictures or video from phones without us knowing. plus i see lots of drug addicts meth heads go there,id be scared to death if i ever nee
Super friendly. Always know my name and are welcoming.
The management and staff are always friendly very courteous. The Kingsport, Tennessee plasma can follow Bristol, VA's example.
I have been donating with the company for years before it was even named Grifols. I been at the Bristol location for 8months now & i love the environment, the facility, faulty & staff. It's really a great place to come to just relax & save a life.
This will make my 3rd time coming bk to donate plasma n I felt like I didnt miss a beat, few of the wonderful ppl I've grown to love n always look forward to seeing them....Especially Momma (Peggy)! She has always gone far n beyond to help folks in anyway she could. I totally recommend coming here, making $,help save lifes, and make great friends/family!!
Staff is so personable and is always willing to answer any question asked.
Been coming here since 2019, everyone is always bubbly
Staff is great but compensation should be a little more and the charges for card use are ridiculous.
I have donated here for years. I've never really had an issue with anybody but there are some employees who need to focus on getting the donor set up and stuck instead of talking and carrying on. ????
While the staff is very nice and helpful the company has changed the bonus times a month and the pay you get each time is now different and I don't see it working for me . thanks y'all for all your help and being so kind while I was there .
Very friendly, and professional
The 2times I donated here they had trouble getting blood. Last time they blew out my vein! But other than that they are super nice people. Fast in and out to.
The most rude and incompetent staff I have ever seen. Place should be shut down and entire staff fired.
Super nice staff I was nervous it was my first time donating and they was super understanding and friendly I'm going to be going twice a week ??
This place is a joke. it's a scam its not even grifols anymore its biomat only make $40 per donation change your name and stop lieing to people.
I would advise anyone to go to a different plasma center save on time and pain none of the people care how rough they are when they stick you, and dont worry about the buddy bonus they will do whatever they can to make sure you dont get it. I will never return here finding a new plasma center
I was discrimated against because I have scars on my arm from my past was refused to donate even though I am perfectly healthy because I was suicidal 6 years ago I was not aloud to donate here the ladies there that said she was the head of grifols was judgemental and rude because of my scars
Very nice people who work there Very clean
Great people and quick service!
The place is amazing all the staff is super nice. I recommend you to come be part of our Grifols family cause that's what we are here.
The employees are always very rude, I asked one of them one time to find my friend because he had the keys to my car and they acted like it was gonna kill them to go get them from him for me, they've also made me jump through hoop after hoop so I could donate and still aren't letting me so I'm considering going to another place that actually will value the fact I want to donate.
It is a good place to go and I made some friends there as well
Unproperly trained techs with nasty attitudes. Enter at your own risk.
The staff here is rude and arrogant. Save yourself the headache and stay away.
This place is worst place you can go if you just want help other if you have the little thing in medical wrong they make you go out of place make you look dum as hell
Very unprofessional staff. Inappropriate discussions in front of & about donors. Rude to donors.
Good crew to work with.
I wasn't able to donate even after I got the paperwork that they sent to my Dr
Great place to help and earn extra money!
The staff is very friendly and nice
I love the place they r so sweet and caring
Don't bother folks. The healthcare system here doesn't buy from them! ????????
Its good. They are friendly. Professional.
Good place good people
There always very pleasant there
Very nice and knowledgeable people
Everyone is so friendly
Absolutely wonderful.
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
