Grifols Plasma Donation Center Kingsport, TN

I love the workers there!! Especially all the girls! They really make the experience better & they always listen to me go on about my life and stuff lol. I enjoy being able to make the extra money when I need to and it's a bonus to save lives while I'm at it!! You can get in and out pretty quick as long as it's not your first time. Utilize their app that allows your to schedule appointments, see when you can donate again, what the hours are, all sorts of things. The app is a must for me.

Terrible donation center, do not go. They are the slowest donation center I've ever seen by far. I used to donate in Bristol for grifols and was always checked in very quickly and professionally within 10 mins of arriving. That's definitely not the case here; they have one person checking people in when there are 10-15 people waiting to go in; it's a mandatory 45 - 90 mins just to get checked in, it's unreal how slow these people are. There will be 10 people working there and one person checking people in;

I had never donated plasma before. Grifols staff was very polite and knowledgeable. They explained every step and were kind. Once I was cleared and connected to the machine my body decided it didn't like having so much blood taken out at once and I nearly passed out. Again the staff was very kind and quick to react. They brought ice packs, Powerade, and elevated my legs more. They kept a close eye on me and let me continue to donate until I decided it wasn't for me. I tried one other time after my deferral

The staff were overall really nice, and informative about the details of being a first time donor. Everything was fine until shift change, left in a lot of pain in my left arm. Once I took off my bandage several hours later I found out why....I probably won't donate again.

I have donated plenty of times before. It's my first time here and I explained that I'm a hard stick. A woman sticks me and adjusts it several times and I explained it hurts. I didn't want a restick because I was already in pain and the lady rudely said ? It's 56 days if you don't let us restick.? Her tone was rude and not necessary. I let them restick and it hurt badly. Two other women were nice, but one woman asked me ?why are you crying?? Because it hurt and I was already in pain. I wish I would?ve stuck

I needed help because I was feeling bad during a donation. The worker/phlebotomist I asked for help, her name was Donna, was very rude and had a very bad attitude. Ive donated for years and have never once been spoken to like that.

This was my first time donating at a Grifols location. I'm not going to lie I was a little hesitant going to this location because of the poor reviews. I was in and out in 2.5 hours as a brand new patient. The first visit takes longer because you need to get a physical. Everybody at this location was great. I will be booking my appointments on the slower days as I do not wish to be there very long. If you don't want to wait very long ask the staff when the best days to come are and what time.

Was told my first 4 visits would be 100 each as long as they were with in 30 days got 100 for the first 2 visits and 55 for the third but other than that no complaints staff very nice and friendly clean astablishment and good atmosphere will probably continue going would of been good if they would of stuck to what I was told the payment would be

This place is a joke for many reasons, The manage was beyond rude when I came in to donate today. They called me to the back because last time I was there I was given 55$ for a plasma donation and I firmly remember the price being 75$ not $55 and I called them out for false advertising and said they could get sued for that. Did my first donation ever here. I was slightly dehydrated the day before so I had to make an appointment for the next day. I set my appointment for 7am but when I arrived, there was a line at the door and no employees other than the security officer were there. They didn't write down my appointment on the list security had so he wouldn't let me in even though it was 15 minutes after my appointment. Finally they decided to let everyone in appointment or not because of the cold outside and I told the ladies

When you actually get back to your seat the workers aren't bad though they do treat you almost as an imposition, but more so they treat you as simply an object. I'm sure they get their share of untoward individuals, but the disregard feels inhuman. There should be two screeners during the busy time. Even with the new appointment system, which I don't think anyone customers or employees like, it takes sometimes up to thirty minutes past your appointment time to get booked in, which wouldn't be an issue if t

They keep lowering their pay rates and increasing the amount of plasma they take. If your selling a bottle of plasma for $2300 why are we the donors only getting $55. Seems a bit unfair and greedy. After they dropped the donation price I decided it was no longer worth the trouble for me even if I needed the money. I'm glad I stopped donating to tell you the truth because it also takes a toll on your body.

Always nice when you give your business faithfully for years and then get placed on a bogus deferral. Then get lied about by the snooty old witch who took your protein level at the desk because she had it in her head she didn't like you. Congratulations Grifols you just lost a donor because you wouldn't hear my side of the story and treated me like a joke when I tried to explain.

Be prepared to be in there for hours. There is no sense of urgency. If you pay attention most not all don't even want to do their job. It's like they try their best to defer you anyway possible. I was deferred on a Sunday for a legit reason. I didn't have a problem with that but I had a small bruise on my arm which was fine originally. Come back the next day and they deferred me for the bruise and gave me some reason but the only reason it was there was because someone new didn't stick the needle in my arm

First two donations went great. THERE IS A LONG WAIT!! I recommend getting there early in the day. The people working there are fantastic! My third donation today wasn't that great I did not eat right and I almost passed out after I was about 75% done. I mentioned that I wasn't feeling well and they immediately reacted. I have donated here, off and on, for over 10 years and through 3 different corporate owners. With each visit the staff gets more apathetic. Any time you go here to donate, be prepared to wait 2 hours in the waiting room because there is probably only 1 screener working to check people in, and it's probably their break time. After your donation, they will most likely make you sit there for a half hour with a needle in your arm before they come and take you down while at least 2 phlebotomists stand around and

The entire reason that I quit going was because of a couple bad experiences and I hadn't even got to my 3rd visit but I am going to make an appointment with them and if I experience the rudeness I will just find someone who can help me and the reason for my erratic bp was when I was called up to her booth I think it is a pleasure to help people who need it but I hate it being ruined due to bad attitudes we all have bad days don't have to take it out on their patients nor anyone else for that matter!! I had donated at the old Johnson City location. They was top of the line workers and clean facilities. Then you had to close them down without giving them the option to transfer. Big mistake for the company because you lost some of the best I have seen. I now have been moved to Kingsport. What a complete opposite. There is about one hard worker there. It's bad they make u wait till 5 minutes before ur appointment to check in and then they lower the pay you get and the card they load the money onto the bank it's through takes so much a week to keep the account active and u can't get the money off the card without losing part of it for ATM fees

I been a donating for going on 20 years off and on at plasma center in Kingsport when it was ked plasma ,abs ,and Griffolds I seen alot of changes but now they cut the money on donations from 40 on first donation and 80on the second to 55 and 55 that's pretty sorry of Griffolds to do that .considering the money they make from the plasma donations i know it just 10.00 it don't mean alot but there is people out there 10.00 does mean alot too, and through corporate greed it's took from them .

I have been donating for around 12 years and mostly at this center. I give it 3 stars instead of 1 because of the staff. They are generally friendly from the floor to the managers and the problems I had weren't a reflection of them but of the company decisions. A trip there is usually a 3 to 4 hr ordeal. You wait to go back to donate usually around an hr and when you get back there you find half the beds empty because they don't have the staff to handle more donors. Was sent home on a deferral losing the only money I had a chance at in this dead end town of no job openings over my pulse number, which read the same as the last day I had donated. They are apportionment ONLY now (no walk ins) severely handicapping people without phones and reliable transportation to be there at a specific time. You can still make appointments in person but taking away walk ins is a horrible business move.Most of the employees are good and friendly. Only issue ever employee wise was with Crystal whom jabbed into my arm so much I bruised A LOT and was unable to donate the next week because of her. I just avoid her and I'm alright.

Scheduling an appointment is a waste of time!!! It's currently 1 hr past my appointment time and the last time I was here I was here for 3 1/2 hours. But the amount of people standing around doing nothing is astounding!!! They are a joke!!! I'll be trunk the JC location next, surely they can't BOTH be this bad.

Everyone here is very nice and very respectful. They make you feel at home while you are there donating. Glad tvs were turned off as well, I would rather listen to music just like in the dentist or drs office.

Such an awful place to have to deal with. I donated for years at the Bristol,Va location and never had any problems. The Kingsport location is just down right awful. All the people that work there.. they talk about each other behind their backs in front of the donors. They talk more than work. The don't pay you what they are CONTRACTED to pay you. Today marked my 6th visit being back as a returning donor. I have been able to only donate once. My first visit I was turned away while they got my legacy information switched over. Which was the second time that happened now. Instead of it taking 5-7 days it took 3 weeks to hear back. Second visit I had to redo everything from the first visit. This was the only successful visit for me. Every time I go in now I'm being deffered for the day due to a "high" pulse. Do they even want living donors or only dead

Staff is awesome and very polite and helpful. Stephanie always treats me in a professional and courteous manner and nurses are the best.Great way to make a little money and save a life. Can't beat that!

Well besides sitting in the donation center for over 4 hours, and by the way that was with an appointment, the workers were good but this place is so unorganized, unprofessional. The only good thing is the actual people working there. The donation process should only take a hour or a little more,but Girfols screwed that up. I am not sure if I will go back. I ain't that hard up for money, not to mention Grifols has lowered the pay for plasma.??

The last couple of time making an appointment has been pointless made it at 10:15 and didn't get back till 11:30 made the appointment because I had stuffed planned with my kids at 12 they had a new girl stick me ended up blowing a vein and I kept telling her it don't feel right and she just wanted to move the needle around it was awful.

They were better, but with the recent influx of new donaters efficiency has gone down hill. Literally no sense of urgency..Lots of chatting and cutting up, sitting around and waiting. I get being understaffed but you have to figure out how to expedite this process like it was before.

Do yourself a favor don't donate here you'll cause more trouble than it's worth when they have rookies poke you where on a vain they shouldn't have ever used and cause you to have an abscess cause they don't know what they are doing and guess what is a big. Staff have all been friendly, and there is usually very little wait time. If you follow their above concerning nutrition, you should be in and put in an hour or less, depending on your body type. The exception to this would be your first visit, during which they will give you a physical, and a short interview. The first visit should take roughly 2 hours.

First time going... excellent staff. Lyric was very good at finding my vein...smooth process from start to finish... My only complaint was getting so cold, but will have a blanket next time.

Had a coupon to earn an extra $100 on my second donation. The guy in charge verified it and said they would honor it. Even told employees about it. They didn't. I have called and no one will return my calls. I have witnesses and yet they are doing nothing.

Nice staff and once your processed you will only be there for around 45 mins. They get you in and out quickly. However if you're going in for the first time to donate plan to be there all day. The intake process does take awhile.

Sharing so you don't waste your time like I did. If you've had a baby in the last 6 months, you cannot donate. Nor can you donate if you are breastfeeding. I went through the entire screening process and spent an hour and a half there (I was a walk in new donor, so I knew I would have to wait a bit) before I was told I was ineligible to donate at the beginning of what was going to be my physical. So again, if you've recently had a baby, don't waste your time, you can't donate.

The first time I went it took 7 hours, yes, 7 hours! To complete the new donar process!! 7 hours!! Now when I go, I'm usually in and out in 1 1/2 hours. I will say that they should have someone in each of their intake windows when the waiting room is full, and when you get back to the donar area there are empty chairs. Not enough personnel? I've been donating plasma at this location since February 2021. As a first time donor I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. All of the staff members there are so kind and friendly every time I go in. From day one they have always answered any questions I have and always make me feel super comfortable! I have never had an unpleasant visit!

Someone needs to teach your employees how to manually take someone?s BP instead of relying on a machine. It also shouldn't take 3 hours to donate, when at other places it's maybe an 1 1/2 in JC.

Been here over 2 hours. Still not even stuck. This place is getting slower and slower as they are always under staffed for the donor count. No excuse for this to take over 3 hrs to donate. The Ked Plasma experience keeps getting worse and worse. If you open the doors then you should have adequate floor staffing.

Actually really efficient and professional donation center with great Phlebotomist to take care of you. Myself being a new donor at this facility I was taken very care of and informed of the process with any questions being answered no problem. Lastly the payout for your donation is actually really nice win win for everyone.

I used to have no problems here until they were bought by grifols and they gave me a card that was already activated then told me there was nothing more they could do. They also almost gave a friend of mine a nervous breakdown by telling her she has hep c, after immediately going to see her doctor to get proof that she in fact DID NOT OR HAS EVER HAD HEP C. TOLD HER SORRY BUT THEY HAD TO PUT HER ON A LIST AND SHE COULD NEVER DONATE. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OBVIOUSLY THEIR ERROR.

On my first visit to Kingsport Kedplasma, It took over two and 1/2 hours just to find out I would be differed for four months because I had an endoscopy on Sept.23.. Needless to say I was not pleased with this plasma center at all. Grifols kingsport is the greatest. Everyone is always super kind and always makes you feel like family. I have donated at multiple donation facilities and by far Grifols kingsport has been one of my best experiences ??? I'm telling everyone I know that if they are thinking of donating this would be the place to go

They are really bad at there job they will stick you and walk away and not turn your machine on and wait for someone to even say anything and then they will not pay you for your donation... Been trying to get my money since yesterday and they still giving me a run around

Not sure what is going on there but I visited the office twice in 2 months both times their computers were down. They either need new or better computers. I would have been a new person to donating but it seems like it is more hassle than its worth if they can't even accept people.

All of the employees do a great job! It's nice when you walk in and they know who you are and acknowledge you.

Staff does not I repeat does not care about the donors my brother donates here and a few friends of mine the staff shoves the needle in hard with no care I know needles aren't supposed to feel good but you would think they could be easier especially when they bruise people and expect them to donate knowing they can't if they are bruised so 1 star off of service and staff friendliness

It takes about 3-4hours the 1st time you go, then from that point on it only takes about an hour. As long as you met the requirements (Heart rate and Blood pressure not too high) you will be able to donate you get $50 the 1st 5 times donating twice a week. Then it goes to $30 1st time the week and $40 the 2nd.

I been going here for a month are lil more ever had this problem at any other dontate center before the lady name Sarah jab needle in my arm and they had to change arms and I told lady I was done and she said she was going to return my blood and I thought she was going to take me off after return but I was not tooking off till end of my donation and same lady name Sarah did same thing thing to the older man next to me on both of his arms and he was not able to dontate do to no of his views being mess up by

Great place and staff. If you are a new patient go early it will be take some time. After the initial visit though it goes quick.

I have been coming to Kingsport for the 2 years I have lived in Tennessee. The staff is wonderful, always pleasant and efficient.

Staff was very nice first time donor got me in and out pleasant experience.

They treat you like a human being here. Pay is the best of any other donation place. And you get coupons in mail for extra money for donations about every 2 or 3 months

I know the place was recently bought out , but I've not been paid for my donation in four days and it's really kind of crap considering its a "new issue" and around 15 other people were not paid as well . If I don't have my money by Friday I'm going to look into legal actions

This place sucks since it switched to Grifols. Used to donate twice a week. Now even with my Dr saying it's fine, they still won't let me. Really don't like it.

SO APPARENTLY ALL MY CLOSED UP PIERCINGS WAS WRONG ON THE PAPER WHEN I RETURNED TODAY AND I GOT PERMANENTLY DEFERED THEN WAS ASKED TO GO OUTSIDE AND STAND IN THE COLD UNTIL MY BOYFRIEND WAS DONE DONATING BECAUSE SITTING IN THE LOBBY WAS INVASION OF DONOR PRIVACY AND THEY WOULDNT LET ME GO BACK AND GET MY KEYS TO SIT IN MY CAR

The salution for this plasma center is another center. Competition never hurts it will drive this sorry lowlifes out of business.

This is now grifols. It's 30-40 per donation , based on your weight. They get you in and out very quickly and the staff really makes the experience.

Get skipped pretty hardcore and new donors aren't their highest priority. Other than that the staff is nice

It's a nice place to go for the services they offer, staff can be a little uninformative at times but otherwise a good experience each time I have gone!

Grifols helps out more then most know their very respectable and the staff is great, I'm glad I can be apart of something as great as saving lives.

Probably never go back to this place, according to them my diet of high protein with low sodium , low sugar along with a daily serving of green vegetables and a cup of coffee with roughly 200 fluid ounces of water daily will make my blood thick and they can't get any when they stick the needle in. But my 7 pound Chihuahua can scratch me and I bleed for ten minutes.

Horrible place. The people that stick you are not gentle. They shove it in. The people at the front are rude. This is by far the worst place I've given plasma at. Currently searching a different place to go too cause they are awful. Don't come here.
