Better than Disney World!!!! I mean, where else can you go and hang out with the coolest people in Roanoke, sit on a couch, play on the Internet, have beautiful women take care of you?and get paid to do it? Seriously, two years ago, I started coming to this plasma center as a recommendation for my cousin. What I thought would be a painful endeavor quickly turned into the highlight of my day. Every Tuesday and Thursday, if at all possible, I stop by to donate after work. No matter how bad my day is, I walk
I've been going here for a number of years and have had no issues. Everyone is very pleasant and attentive. They have the process streamlined so that you don't have to spend hours waiting to donate. Love you guys, keep up the great work!
I have donated at all 3 plasma centers in Roanoke and can honestly say that Grifols is the most top notch facility of them all! It has a large donation floor with plenty of room to maneuver, the equipment is state of the art and most importantly the employees are kind respectful caring and absolutely care about everyone that comes there. From the moment you walk in they greet you with hello and a smile then the phlebotomist take time to explain the process and ask if you have any questions or concerns. I su
If you have to campus to the point of leaving HUNDREDS of fliers in one store then there is something wrong. The workers have to clean up these things. Doing it after we said no? Ridiculous. It's littering at that point.
we got there at 2:30 and they already had their booths closed so they weren't taking any more donors and we had an appointment set for 245. They should not be able to do that if they are going to do that or at least like the doors so I don't walk in there and get pissed off, because if I would?ve spazzed, I would?ve been wrong but they're slacking off and not doing their job. They either need to change their policy or what time you can arrive or remove the 245 timeslot if they're not going to accept donors
Very friendly staff! Paige took care of me and she was amazing. I also met Mikey while I was there and he is such a polite gentleman! Best center I've been to in Roanoke!
The staff is consistently incredibly friendly. Donating plasma can be nerve wracking if you're squeamish around needles, but the staff is very kind, understanding, and dedicated to making sure everyone is taken care of. Shouts out to Braxton up front, and Vanna and Paige in the back. They are the heart and soul of the place.
Allows you to schedule new donor appointments but they honor walk ins over booked appointments. Wasted 3 hours with no end in sight. Lol. Melrose is a MUCH better location.
Me and my sister came to the center to donate was very smooth simple process took me no longer then an hour and a half if your trying to get quick cash and help save life?s try it out !!!
This place sucks a bunch of grown ass people playing around like little kids the whole time very unprofessional. Now grifolos in control of the Melrose center.. came today at 8 am waiting it is now 10:06am
Never had a problem before like I had today with the machine. Kept moving the needle in my arm like 8 times been over 8 hours and my arm is swole up from it.
Braxton was the kindest! He helped me with any question I had and reassured me about the plasma donation! He was great!
I had an amazing experience at this center fast and very sufficient goo donate today!!
Haven't had an issue yet, people are friendly and quick
This place was amazing thank yall so much love the front end people shout out to Allison&Braxton
I have been donating plasma here since 2019. It used to be great. I could get in and out quickly and they used to pay really well. Now ... that's a joke. I just left my center after waiting for 45 minutes watching people get screened and called back BEFORE me that came in after me. This is unacceptable. Take my advice and find a different plasma donation center.
I experienced vasovagal syncope at the end of my first donation. Very aware and competent nurses helped me. Shared that info with nurses at second donation and they were great, politely checking on me as I gave. Great experience working with them. Will continue to donate knowing that they are compassionate people.
This place has the most professional, welcoming and just plain cool staff. I love coming here. They make the experience as great as it can be AND the place is always clean and well kept.
I started donating in July and was impressed with how quick the new donor processing was. My wait was about 10 minutes. Then process for new donor was about 15-20 mins if that. Then to my first donation. The staff took the time and explained what was going to happen in steps and answered any question I had. I've been donating since.
Had to redo a protein test, was just told I had to come all the way down there just to be told the results. Oh well, I tried??????? goodbye Grifols I won't be back
It has been years since I have been bullied like this, this behavior is not okay let alone someone wearing the cross of christ. I feel insulted, management is absent.
I really wish I had higher hopes for this place I'm upset. I first went here awhile ago and went through all my steps it took a good couple hours which I was ok about. However when I had to get a doctors note to bring it back and show them I was not fully informed to bring it back to the building. I had sent it through email and then waited another week for a response just to tell me to take it to them. At that point I had lost the doctors note and ended up going to Freedom Plasma instead.
New by weight system is dog water i use to take 30-45 minutes now it's a mandatory 1-2 hours donation are way longer for no reason every cycle i use to do 20-33ml j in f plasma now it's 7-13 then stops every time what's the point of coming in hydrated when you can't even donate fast anymore
I wasn't gonna leave a review because if you look at the way Talecris replies to reviews you can tell they just don't care. You'd think they'd try and take a little more responsibility for being such a garbage place, but that's clearly not the case. I had gone here several of times in November and December of 2022 totaling 7 visits. There was MAYBE one time that I went when I felt like someone who actually knew what they were doing was sticking my arm. I'm convinced they pick people up off the street to be
If I could give a lower rating I would. I recently went to do my first donation and it went great!!! I went to do my second donation made it through all the computer questions and then they told me my iron was to low to donate that day to come back in a few days and try again. No problem I understand. A few days later I went back and it wouldn't let me complete my computer questions so I let them know and they sent me to a room to wait. When they came in they told me that I tested positive for a COOMBS test
My first experience was a good one even tho I was there 5 hours being a new donor, so if you are a new donor like me I recommend going when they open or at least by 8. The staff was friendly answered any questions I had. I recommend eating before going as well. I felt fine during and after donation. I'll be returning Updated review today was my first time being deferred my iron was a 37 it has to be 38 or higher, they can't and won't recheck you so if you live 30 mins away, a single parent just needing extr
The manager of this center has proven it is better to lie on your questions then to tell the truth honest answers will get you denied while they smile and giggle at your honesty while catering to all types addits homeless people I would not recommend this center to anyone. So in addition my review did come with a response they gave me a number to call and follow up when I call the number I was told there system was down to call back in an hour I have also spoken to other in my aa group and was advised to
Day one, drove 40 miles one way. They didn't like my address so I had my landlord email over my lease. They didn't like the format. Day 2 bring the same exact thing I sent just printed and they took it. After all the background and hours I was deferred because of a medication. It isn't a major med either. It would be extremely helpful for them to have a qualifier at the VERY BEGINNING to put your meds into so you don't sit there for HOURS for no reason. I wasted 7+ hours just in the office to not be able to
I have been going here for years. I have never been treated this way before. The needle was hurting my arm and they wanted to mock me saying they couldn't loosen the blood pressure arm machine anymore. Now my arm is messed up. They had my money messed up from the time before. Thought they had fixed it while I was in there but after I got to my car and checked again it was not right. Tried to get someone to fix it and they wouldn't even let me in to make sure it was fixed. This is at 7:05. They were trying t
It started out swell but went downhill. I felt as though some of their staff tries to be surgeons at the front desk. No hon. That TAKES years to accomplish, not a 2 year certificate and jumping on me bc I put my hand on my head to balance myself from the wobbly chair you have which I now read somebody else made the SAME complaint about on these Google reviews, FIX it for your community!!! Elisa was always nice and helpful, and a few other were ok but this one thinking she's investigating your forehead is o
This is not my experience, and I don't usually post about someone else's experience. But, I feel like this is a story that needs to be told. My daughter and her boyfriend have been donating here for about a month, maybe more. The last time he went, due to nothing that happened at Talecris, there was a situation that made him feel uncomfortable, which caused him to not be able to donate. When he asked if he could have a little more time and maybe a different person to help him, he was met with accusations,
It was great until you have to download an app to make appointments. Not everyone has email or smartphones. And the girl who was trying to help was pretty rude. I told her my friends phone was broke and wouldn't work to do the appointments so when she saw him with the phone she assumed I lied and I heard her say something to coworkers about it. Not very professional. Never going back.
Playing on thier phones when I got to the counter talking how they were late, struggled to get my blood in the test tube, which made me nervous than told me no for hbp mine was 110 hbp is 140 they lied to my face, while smiling telling me to have a good day, wasted my time and while being narcissistic when I had questions.
Didn't get my second new donor bonus. Got the first $100 but when I made my second donation only got $40. Which is fine people mess up but when I tried calling no one answered. I even called multiple times. I'm a little sad that I didn't get the full $100.
I have never had any of the issues that other people are mentioning. The staff has always been super friendly and professional to me. I have never had to wait hours to be screened. The only negative thing I have to say has to do with something the local office has no control over. That is, the new BOA cards are horrible. I cannot transfer money off of my card to my bank account, and since my name is not on the card my bank wont take the money off of the card. There are no BOA branches around here so
I cannot let 2 bad times change how I feel overall this is a great center with great staff. I love it!!!... I just wish it we're more giveaways or like one center I used to go-to had a poker handheld leaderboard the top 3 got extra $50 every donation for the following month. One center had reward points that you earn and can cash in for cash and or prizes. An extra $30 bonus on 2nd visit wouldn't be bad for those who drive 2hrs round trip every visit. I spend $20 in gas every visit. I love how its always im
The staff is always friendly, pleasant, and efficient. Some days are busier than others, but it's never because they aren't working hard enough. I have always felt comfortable during my donations.
I am thankful that this place exists and that they are helping save lives. There are times when the staff can be rude and unprofessonal in their manner, but their clientele are usually the ones who are incredibly rude and disrespectful to them. Their clients show no respect to everything they do and how hard they work even when they are short staffed. One issue is that they seem to always be short staffed or only have one person screening while others seem to just be walking around. I know myself and severa
They talk more than they work, looks like more of a hang out spot for the workers than a place of business. Even if you make an appointment you'll still have to wait for them to decide you can sign in, so tbh the appointments don't make sense... unless you tryna get it out the way super early morning. Very unprofessional workers, management is just as bad don't bring any complaints cause they are just gonna tell you sorry and it won't happen again, and the workers really don't get any disciplinary actions.
I have been teying to get ahold of someone for a few weeks now and no one will answer the phone. The last time i was there i was informed by another guest tht we would have to have the app to make an appointment. No employees ever made that notice. So i download the app and it asked for a reference number i dont have 1 and it wont let me go any further. I have called the 1866 number already and guess what still no help. How can i make an appointment or know if they are doing walk ins if no one will answer t
I've been a patron of the Franklin rd Roanoke Va company since when they were the Roanoke plasma company on Campbell ave since the late 1980's. Overall they have been very good at what they do. They do their best to take care of you and the staff in friendly ( I was even friends with a lot of the staff in the 80's and 90's).
I have been here twice to attempt to donate plasma. The first time I was turned away 5 hours before closing due to low staffing. There was bad staffing both times luckily they took pity on me because I came soon after opening the second. I passed everything except the heart rate monitor. This wouldn't have upset me except for the fact I was sitting on a small and unruly stool. No wonder my heart was racing. I was afraid of falling. I have wasted over an hour and will not be returning. I never had any issues
Gets restriction on card, staff says "we got nothin to do with that", call number on back of card, and can't speak to a representative because "this account no longer exists" even though it was working fine until this morning for months. So yay, I lose my money and no-one has to be accountable for it. Plus one of the nurses doesn't like donors and she'll make it hurt for you if she doesn't like you. Lots of deflecting and no action taken. There's a reason only the desperate go here. DON'T.
So I tried to donate plasma this morning.... I was told that i needed my marriage certificate to prove my name change, because I donated one time twelve years ago under my maiden name. Fine. Came in with my ID and social security card (both of which are in my married name), as well as my original, notarized marriage certificate. According to the intake clerk at Talecris, my marriage (and all of my government-issued IDs) isn't valid, because I don't also have a document from the Roanoke City Courthouse pro
Had great experience for so long however last 3 times had someone stick me who have no idea what their doing!! FYI I have very easy veins
The place is clean and most of the staff is very friendly. My thing is if they bruise you because they do something wrong then you can't come and donate until both arms are completely cleared up. I come to help out plus I could really use the extra money but so many times I've been bruised. There is 1 person there that has never bruised me. Can we ask for one person or take whomever?? I had to miss a week and it looks like I'll have to miss another week and it's close to the holidays. The bruise i
I called the day before and asked for instructions on what I needed to do to get started. I was told to come in the next morning because it would take about 3 hours so I was there at 9:20 a.m. and was told to sign in and then go get something to eat. I followed the instructions and came back and sat and waited till almost 1:00 am when they finally got around to starting my paperwork. I asked how much longer was this going to take and was told it would probably be 4:00 PM before I would get out of there
Great staff, very professional.
I used to donate here about 10 years ago but stopped due to low pay and a bad experience where my vein literally blew up like a balloon. I was thinking of giving it another try so I called to get details . Spoke to someone and was pleasantly surprised by the pay I was told they were paying.. After looking at all the reviews I tried calling again to double check and I can't anyone to answer. I called a direct number that was left in a response to a review and spoke to someone and they said they couldn't te
I visited 4 weeks ago. They told me they would call me. I waited a week, and then tried calling. no answer. I have called every day for three weeks straight and no one has EVER picked up the phone.
Clean , the staff is helpful and very very safe doing their work . Ty for the safety protocols that you have in place
Great place, friendly and pretty fast, but depends on how many are there to donate when you come. They pay between $45 and $50 with bonuses like in May. Nice way to make a tax free income.
I have no problem donating plasma. But I WILL NOT be back here I sat here since 10:30 and was talked down to and belittled by not only one employee but two and that's not all. After having my temperature taken a total of 5 times before being brought back to donate I was told I had a temperature of 102? When all other test had shown 98. So after an entire evening (7 hours) wasted I was turned away. Most unprofessional place I've been since covid has started.
If i could give no stars thats what I would give. I have never been so humiliated in my life. The director called me a liar in front of everyone. I was a new donor i do not understand everything nor did I understand the whole process. So apparently i answered a question incorrectly. Instead of addressing me like an adult he comes out to the machine I was hooked up to and starts to holler at me. Pulls me off the machine after I am almost done and I got paid for nothing. I was there a total of 6 hours. I work
I go there once a week to donate plasma?? ... you can go up to two times per week if you want. It is a good way to help others (plasma is needed by people for many different reasons), and it's also an easy way to earn some extra, much needed, money ?? during these crazy hard times. They are very nice at Talecris and good at their jobs.
Donations take to long as of recently idk what they did but they need to fix it i don't got all day for 45$ i use to be in and out watch like 2 YouTube videos and boom
Great staff. Nice quiet environment. Fast services. All around great experience each time I come here. I highly reccomend them. I would give 10 stars if possible.
Literally make up anything just for you not to get plasma done. I'm PRE DIABETIC just because I don't take my medicine? I'm literally healthy. Literally don't waste your time. Came THREE times and NOTHING CAME At 6:30 and at 8:30 and ain?t worth waiting 5 hours. I won't be coming here ever! I'm not trying again.
Says new donors can get up to 700 in a month?I received an extra $45 the first two donations then I was getting return donor compensation. Won't be returning. Not worth it
I have been coming here for almost 3 years. Friendly, professional staff in all facets. I would like to highlight Ashley for being personable and a smiling face whenever I see her.
Excellent experience! I have donated in four different cities and Roanoke Talecris beats them in all categories. Friendly and knowledgable staff that provide a comfortable experience. The entire donation experience rarely takes longer than 45 minutes. Watch tv or enjoy free wifi as you donate. Two thumbs way up
I do not recommend at all. The manager Jim is as rude as they come. They only want to pay you for half of what you gave when it was a complete donation after making you sit and wait for over 3 hours when the place was dead and you were a return donor. I wouldn't recommend at all.
I donored in the pass but stop because of the staff. My son got me to come back. I was a NEW DONOR at that time, the lady even told me that my son would get a referral bonus. The time it came for him to get his bonus, they told him no because I had been there before. That's not right. I got my new donor money, why couldn't he get his referral bonus. He lost $100 because he got 2 people to come back. Talecris on Franklin Rd LOST THIS DONOR.
The company as whole is garbage I tried 13 ago to donate and was told no never gave me a reason. Now I was bipolar and need PCP to approve me right I need to pay a PCP bill to help please fix your staffs mistake on my paper work.
Great donation experience. The staff are nice and competent and everything is communicated clearly. Best side-gig ever!
It's supposed to be an easy process, however management is terrible and scheduling is the worst. Doesn't matter when you're appointment is, you'll be there over an hour waiting. They don't schedule for the amount of donors coming in. The wait isn't worth the 40 bucks unless you're broke.
This place is terrible. They tell people one thing and then it's different after you donate. The staff is rude. When you ask to speak to corporate they will leave you on hold. Poor customer service.
A year ago I wanted to go donate my plasma and the manager told me not, she treated me with racism and was rude and I had all my legal papers.
Not only are you helping people by donating plasma, it's a great way to earn a little extra income each week. About 3 hours a week = $150. I'm not mad at $50 a hour.
Will never go there again. Ever. Couple of mean nurses and management gives you the runaround when something goes wrong and make you look like YOU'RE the bad guy.
This place is awesome! It's nice to have the opportunity to donate for a good cause; to save lives! Also the extra cash they so generously offer as an incentive is very helpful!
Refer me! Very friendly staff in a stressful environment for them. They handle pressure and lots of people very well. Talk to Sara, Kiki Kia, Tasha, Ashley, Amanda, Mills, Roy, Alyssa, Chelsea, Kevin, and Brian
I love everyone here they keep me entertained while I'm donating. They make the stick fast and easy. Your in and out before you know it. Also best way to make easy cash.
I have been coming here for months and never had any issues. The staff is very friendly and on point. I am always in and out. I never have to wait long.
Great place to donate and very wonderful and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back to donate in the future.
I am just trying to figure out how to get an appointment to be a donor. There isn't any way to set up an appointment on the website, and when you call you just get an automated message about becoming a donor but there isn't an option to speak with someone to set up an appointment.
They mess with your money too much talecris gave bonus they don't anymore I'm gonna try peters creek soon if they don't do better.
It would be nice if you kept something on the website to give a general compensation amount..new doner bonus...repeat sonar amount...ect. ect.. and the certain type of data considered..in the equation....very helpful for people on both ends...
I enjoy helping others ,the staff here is awesome they are friendly makes me feel comfortable erytime I come a very enjoyable experience so I can help others.
Since I been coming to donated they have been the most respected staff that I have delt with the bring positive energy even if you are having a bad day they always find a way to make they there customer's smile im happy to have my blood taken my this company
As a returning misinformed donor?Between the communication line and discomforting tone of the nurse, I will not be back at this facility.
Ive donated at 3 other centers before and this one is by far the most unprofessional center out of them. They don't even bother to read your file to see if your allergic to anything.
They are verry nice, professional, and quick once you are a donar. I have a great experience every time iv been here
This center is so much better then the old one. I enjoy the time that I'm there & the employees are always so nice. Great Job!
People who working in that center are very professional and kind. They was answer on all my questions and always help me with appointments. I like that place a lot and will continue donating.
I had a wonderful experience! Everything was discussed before it happened and I was well educated! Everyone was super nice and made the process simple!
Professional staff, clean environment. Been going for over a month, never had an issue. Wish you could make appointments over the phone though.
Every visit I make of donating has been a pleasant and positive experience!!! The staff are cool as heck ?? -Donor, Ashley Molina
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
