I was very well attended to by Jackie H. What an incredible human being. I am a foreigner, I understand the language well, but I have a little trouble speaking it. Jackie was super patient, attentive and informative. This woman should be on the employee training team. God bless her! The place is clean and organized. Rating 10.
This grifols SUCKS! I get scrwwd out of my donation because the workers can't stick for nothing. Not all of them but a lot of them. This place isn't the best spot. But it's not on the company itself
I don't even know this place but the fact that someone left a sketchy piece of paper in the door handle of my car scared the crap out of me. I was prepared to call the police because this is SCARY. Whomever did this, NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. I thought I was going to get fentanyl dosed or kidnapped. The fact that the flier has no information and a tiny label made it even sketchier. It scared the daylights out of me. Whoever did this, fire them. I want nothing to do with this company.
I've got over 1,000 donations and this center is easily the worst i've ever been to. "Experienced" phlebs can't find my vein when its got a massive target right on it from my over 1k donations. Go to Octa instead, never returning.
This company has one of THE most shortsighted policies I have ever encountered. Because I live at a hotel(business)I don't ?qualify? to donate plasma. It's 2025, if this company doesn't realize people actually do live in hotels, they are in another world. My bank, DMV, credit card company AND the damn SSA accepts my address as a home. Smh, I think you can DO better.
Regular plasma donor for over two years. Donating plasma is critical because it cannot be made synthetically. Therefore those who rely on plasma donations it can mean a better life. Donate and change a life while getting paid for each donation.
I love this place. The people are great and for the most part one doesn't have to stay too long. I allot myself 2 hours but sometime it takes a bit longer. Quite often they are short staffed and clients become very impatient however the staff are still doing their jobs well and as quickly as they possibly can. I appreciate them greatly.
I've been donating at this center since it first opened, and have seen quite a bit in that time. To put simply, you get what you give. I personally have never had any issues with any of the staff at this center. Showing a bit of empathy towards staff members, and understanding things can only go but so fast, can really make all the difference. Recently, the time it takes for a standard donation has increased, and there usually is a longer wait than what some may have been used to. This is due to the cente
The customer service people are great. However the staff at the back are not so nice. Customer service experience needs to be better in the back. (The back means where the plasma is taken.)
First day I came I was told I had to have proof of my name change because I apparently had gone to another center several years before that had the same parent company. Second time I got turned away for low blood pressure (fine, I get it). Third time I was turned away because I finally got to the physical and I had surgery too recently. I was told I was allowed to come back on this date but when I showed up I was told the hold was until the end of the day. I have spent more than 5 hours trying to become a
Very clean and professional. At the front desk, they answer all of the questions that you may have and are very polite. When you get to the back, they are down to earth and do their best to make sure that you're comfortable. People have to understand that one minute it maybe slow, than the next minute, ten people may come in at the same time. It would be a lot easier on the staff if the plasma machines were upgraded. Other than that, it's a great place to earn a few extra dollars.
I think their awful they put me on a hold for something I did not do over 6 months ago they said it would only take 30 days and I could come back over 6 months later I still can't go back I think it's wrong
I use to donate here when it was good. So I went back after a few years and on a Monday I was placed in the bed I waited 30 minutes not one member said hey we will be with you.The guy manager keep calling people and placing them on the bed. They came in after me and got stuck before me. I waited 30 minutes and saw 5 people come in after me so I left. When I called up to the center the manager said why you didn't say nothing. I told him that's your job. I told him I don't go to McDonald's and tell them to
Donors were hooked up out of order although I said something. While finishing and waiting to be disconnected I was told I still had to wait! This location needs to get more organized. They do not value the donors time, and without the donors they wouldn't have a job!
I truly enjoy going here to donate. The staff are well trained, courteous, and observant. The only area that may need some work is the discussions of their personal lives around strangers. If the donor wants to talk about their personal lives that's ok, but the staff should not disclose too much about themselves. Reason being, you never know who's sitting in those chairs. All in all though outstanding facility.
6/4/23 This is my fourth visit. Seconded that week. (Which by the way on the first visit that week was only given 40 bucks for donating and was never told that . Coming from a decent amount the first two. Anyway I go to kiosk to start my questions and it abruptly stopped and said to go to the front desk. No problem . Stood there for 10 to 12 mins. One lady was all there was and only talking to one person the whole time I have been there.. so finally she starts walking towards the front and calls out a name
Great people and the reward works both way given and Receiving but if they world make each visit 100/ per visit I don't understand the 100 for the first 2 times then go way to 40 then to 90 time is being taken but continue the great work life's are being changed I'm happy to be a part of the mission.
This center is by far the worst in staff. I've been trying to donate since Friday August 6th. The manager himself tells me to call before I come back to see if its good to donate. I called Saturday, not a good time. Sunday not a good time. Monday they tell me yeah we should be able to get your transfer done and you should be able to donate. I walk 48 minutes from my house to the plasma center so they can tell me everyone gone to lunch but should be returning soon but I have to schedule you for 145pm because
The front employees are so busy talking and arguing with each even when they have someone in the booth. They don't calibrate the blood pressure cups even when they are turning away client after client. They obviously don't care about people. The techs in the back are the opposite, kind and caring.
If I were to donate this is where I would go only because of cleanliness and some of the staff are actually professional. Others I can't speak the same for. If you're wondering, like myself, why there often seems to be a high employee turn over rate, I can tell you from what I have observed as a past employee, is the lack of professionalism. On several occasions I experienced flat out rude employees and lack of decent, polite and professional adult social behaviors. This is probably very common with fol
Awesome place to donate plasma . I love the ladies here . ALWAYS Friendly and inviting. When I donate I make sure I have extra time in my day just in case it's longer than usual . I go in with positive attitude and get positive results . I've had to get a double poke once but as humans we all deserve patience . Those women do their best .
Staff is rude. I haven't donated in over 6 months; and received a promotional email regarding coming back to donate. So I thought, hey why not? So I come in, and between the temperature checking lady at the front door, the receptionist and other staff?they all had the same sh*t attitude. And it's only 9am. Sorry. Lost yourself a donor. Usually I had a great experience in the past at this Newport News location..but will not be returning.
Great place to give back and make some extra money too. I'm bad with names but have been treated with respect from every employee there. I do know a few who really make the experience as enjoyable as possible Tasha, Arianna, Alexis, Jessica are a few names I can throw out. Also Cassie who could find a vein in a flee and make it comfortable. If you are going to donate this is the location you should go. Well managed, very efficient and customer service makes for short, enjoyable experience.
I have been going since May 2021, with no problems. The staff is friendly, sometimes unprofessional, but they get the job done. A little over two weeks ago I had a very bad experience. The phlebotomist used a vein that I didn't usually use, and when she stuck it, blood squirted out. I thought she went too deep, and she adjusted it but I still was in pain so we did the other arm. Two weeks later my arm looks like this. I haven't been able to straighten my arm for two weeks since this occurrence.
Wouldn't be so bad if they actually had more beds. Y'all can easily fit another 16 beds in the back. 2-4 hour donate times in the afternoon-evening Came in next day 6/30/22 and 4 hour wait. They got room for 60 beds but only have 23. Go back to appointments or something. This is rediculous
Great place to donate plasma, the nurses are great and I have had a wonderful time. The atmosphere in the back room is always cheerful and everybody is always in good spirits. I enjoy going to see everyone, they have even remembered my name and face which makes the experience great. Its like I get to visit family for an hour. ^-^ Thanks for the great laughs and great times.
The reviews are true!! August 8 2022 The black lady at the desk with the "coi leray braids" and long unprofessional nails &lashes is rude. She swatted me away, then her and her friend just stood there laughing and gossiping . She claimed she is a nurse. Well that nurse has no dignity &work ethics. She needs some training. I'm sure the terrible reviews is from dealing with this lady at the front desk. Rolling her eyes at people. She could've said excuse me but she swatted at me????
Always a great time with friendly people
Didn't have any issues until my fourth visit. It was on the weekend with a different set of staff members. The one assigned to me cared more about gossiping with her co-workers than venipuncturing properly. Thanks for the hematoma.
If there was an option to rate 0 stars I would. Don't return to Donate if you haven't been after 6 mths ur suppose to be a new donor at $100 first 5 donation. In August and September they only gave me $40 They had every excuse not to pay me And very rude I will not ever donate with grifols biomat again. Go to Octapharma mid town Newport news.
Sat in there for almost 30 minutes with a needle in my are and I was done I got ignored 4 times and i was the first one done in my section I'm annoyed asf cause I got shit I have to do before work and you taken more time then need
I recommend this place over the other centers on the 7 cities. The staff makes you feel welcome. And the facility is very clean. It's nice to be able to save a live in a comfortable environment. The phlebotomy people are great stickers.
they make it very difficult to come and save a life. Everyone has different schedules so we try to come when our schedule allows. But you can only walk in at a certain time and after that you have to have an appt. I try to make appt.'s and I can't, the time I can come in is always full and I work during the day so it's hard to make appt.'s for a later time. The location in Norfolk is better. Overall this company may look upscale and prestigious but it's really not. They have all these rules up that just ma
I scheduled an appointment today for a 5pm donation of plasma, was put on hold twice during the phone call but the way the woman told me to hold on was literally that, "Hold on, hold on!" Click.... me stitting there not sure what just happened? She did that twice. There is actually a proper way to switch lines, that would be, "Could you hold PLEASE." Then I made the drive all the way there(I live 30 minutes away in good traffic) and arrived 20 minutes early to be told I was not on their list, not for today
First donation was rough. Second was so much better. I forget her name but the lady with braces was so sweet. Even celebrated my little weight loss with me. Worth the time. Excellent team. Loving people.
Great staff, clean facility. Made it very easy to donate. Just make sure to bring picture ID and they also asked me for my social security card.
Complete garbage. Nothing but negative experience after negative experience. If you have a vehicle, drive somewhere else - Do NOT waste your time at this facility. This place is hit or miss, it all depends on who is working. Sometimes it's a great experience, and others it feels like a chore to deal with some the their employees. You can tell some of them don't care about working their and it shows in their performance.
Been coming here on and off for a couple of years and I can say the last few visits hasn't been good, the staff are undertrained they make excuses when failing to hit the vein. I was stuck 3 times and I just left with my new hematoma, like to help others but not at this cost.
Wasted my time coming here today just to be told I cannot donate for almost 3 weeks when this money helps me get to work! Then they have yet to do anything to these two staff members who started the drama by flirting with my man in my face! The owner said hurry and get my man out no them two employees need to be fired this isn't a dating place ?? they need to actually hire a nurse as well with people with small veins now I got bruises because of them!
I look forward to seeing the smiling faces of the staff...over time I've been able to connect with them and have been very happy with my experiences at this Griffols location. I donate plasma on behalf of a former student of mine that was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago. She is able to use the debit card after each donation to cover prescriptions and other medical related expenses. I'm proud to say that I'm able to help those needing plasma and plasma products and a former student with one simple deed. A
It's not bad, it depends on who you have sticking you and keeping an eye on you.. some are stuck up snobs. There are definitely some nice employees too. Easy way to make a little extra especially when you need it
Everyone is different and they experience donating differenldithan other people. I have been donating since before I became a mother so for about 20 give or take a few years...and I have to say that my experience at this particular plasma donation place, they are very professional and nice and very accommodating! I came for my 2nd donation and let's just say that if things went any other way, I would've still donated but I would have been else where. I'm new to Virginia and although it's a little different
Absolutely terrible. Inbred. Only care about their friends getting paid as evidenced by them pulling the butterfly needle out of your arm then saying you deferred for 12 weeks because they don't know how much blood you lost them tending to do this when it is bonus time. Jessica is extremely rude. They act like it is their own personal business and do whatever they want with no supervision by corporate or any regard as to how they are reflecting on the parent corporation.
I have had generally positive experiences here. Many of the phlebotomists are good, but youre bound to get a tough visit once in a while. Ie they have trouble getting a vein. I doubt they could improve much though. When issues arise, I wish they would call it a day, give you enough for transportation, and be done sticking you. That would be my only criticism.
The baby shark's here at Grifols are great. They will have you entertained while you are donating. Majority of the staff is pleasant and will go out of their way to make you comfortable during your process. I will truly recommend any new clients to participate in helping a great cause at a wonderful facility! Also, the beautiful ladies here are a site to see while donating.
I came in for my first donation and from the moment I got there I experienced nothing but aggression, monotone expressions, and annoyance from the staff. To treat a first time donor like that and I didn't even finish the paper work. I did not donate nor will I ever to these people
I have been going to this center since they open up in Newport News and they always seem to improve my experience as a donor. Great service and I feel like part of the family. You're always greeted with a smile and treated with the upmost respect. It make it a even more enjoyable experience donating plasma!
Do not go here! I called at 8:10 and 8:14 in the morning the day before and tried to make an appointment and they said no we don't have appointments well they do because for other people got in front of me. They said well they have appointments I said that's not fair she said that's not fair to them. I sat down there for over three hours and I did not get a dime don't go here it's a racketeering job and they are endangering your health at the same time
My experience has been great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It makes me want to come in and donate. I feel good about donating to help others. The signs around the facility help me know where and who I am helping.
Friendly staff. Quick. Phlebotomists knowledgeable in their trade and don't mess up often.. or if at all unlike other plasma centers in the area. Their bonuses are also really organized and good to bring more people in to donate.
Staff are great and the place is very clean
I have been coming here for about 2 years now and love it. I get to help others with donating plasma along with making some extra cash. The staff has gotten to know me and love when I come in they are friendly and are very personable.
I wouldn't go here if you value your body, this is the 3rd time they've blown my arm up on a return and missed my vein. I will not be returning. And if you search the reviews, I am far from the only one, the most screwed up part, is it's been the same person that iv tried to give the benefit of the doubt too.
I tryed switching over from Octopharma to Biomat in Novemeber/ December and what a mistake.. don't do it!!! Biomat's Staff is Rude they will find reason's for you not to come in and Donate if they don't want you to. i had took there physical as a New Donor even though they told me i was not being treated as a New Donor and passed everything. after only my second Donation where i still passed all the pre-donor screening When i cam in for my 3 rd Donation the following week i was told that my Protien was l
Rude and unprofessional ain't the word... I asked them repeatedly not to go into my scar tissue they went in twice... I clotted twice Then they went into the other vein and I clotted which I knew I would... I haven't been there since the 4th of July I went there last Wednesday they said they was only doing a blood sample.... I went back on Friday they said they haven't seen the blood out yet it's going to be about a week.... I'm not going back it's wasted time and then they don't even tell you why they taki
They were very nice and fast with getting the process done. They were patient with me as I was very nervous but there was really nothing to it. First 4 donations you get paid $100 and after that you get paid $50. Get paid for helping others.
Depending what time you go it's a fairly quick process. 90 mins for most donations. First visit is about 2.5. Staff is friendly and professional. I recommend to do a good deed and to make some extra cash.
They are so friendly and make donating easy! The first time does take around 2 hours, but after that it usually only takes an hour. I highly recommend going to them if you are thinking about donating plasma.
These are the same people transferred from the Settlers Landing location. Terrible attitudes, losing medical records constantly, and treating donors with absolute disrespect. They should all be fired. The same woman that let my return blood drip all over the floor the last time I donated, still works there. My vein was absolutely mutilated by her. She pierced through both sides of the vein multiple times and couldn't line it up to return my blood, blood pooled on my arm and onto the floor as she walked away
I just started here after two years at Octapharma. This is a service industry so everybody's experience is subjective. I can't promise you won't have issues but if you're trying to make a decision about here or the other place, this place is so much cleaner and more professional. It may not be to your personal standards, but it was far better. I don't think I'll go back to Octapharma after my experience at Biomat. Update: I've been here almost a year. Biomat averaged $5-$25 less than Octapharma in an
Staff is nice enough. Just make to get there early or you might be there for a few hours. They seem understaffed for rush times.
Wonderful staff, good cause and you're compensated fairly for your time and donation.
I've been coming here for about 3 weeks and every employee have been very professional and kind. The wait is not long at all.And everyone is very kool and very sociable.Nicely run with the right staff/employees.
If you want to be greeted by a very rude woman named Sabrina then please go here. She'll kindly answer your questions with an ill expression on her face.
Since my last visit thing have gotten better. The people are nice and try their best to make you feel comfortable and everything is going smoothly.
I only donated here once and I'm currently trying to schedule another time to donate but they don't answer the phone . As I am typing this I am currently making my 4th phone call to them to schedule my next donation and still no answer . other than that my first time wasn't so bad. Just answer the phone please . oh yeah and tell your phlebotomists' to keep their personal convos off the floor . its so unprofessional.
Best plasma center around. Fast, clean and friendly staff. Plenty of good looking polite people working here. Ive been to hamptons and the downtown center and this one beats them by far.
Bed side manners need improvement but the intake staff is amazing. I don't just do it for the money...I participate to help others who need it. Thanks to everyone.
Her name was a lil hard to remember she did tell me though she will know by team eye lashes but she was great the moment i walked in she spoke said goodmorning she showed a lot of joy which made me happy she walked me to my chair asked me how was my day going and she thanked me for coming in and donated i had to put this in the review out of all the times ive came this is the first time i felt welkomed and happy to be there . Thanks much sorry i dnt know how to spell your name but she did tell me she will k
They are polite and fast. They are fun and lively. Professional and courteous. Been coming here for over a year and never had a bad experience.
I don't know what happened but this center is unbelievably slow. I'm transferring to another center.. having to wait 2-3 hours each donation has really made donating at this center a waste of time.
The staff at Grifols are like family. They are great!!!! They keep us well informed about how to stay hydrated. Always get a great stick and am in and out.
Came here with a friend, just from observing staff is unprofessional. Laughing and joking and being obnoxiously loud. Not to mention when i was looking for my friend not one staff member asked if i needed help. Definitely need to work on professionalism.
Gia Terry-Hines...My experience is just a great one with biomat ive been coming here since the doors first open and even helped with renovations before opening...overall the staff is wonderful...sensitve to your needs...caring with lots of patience...great sense of humor. Great work dedicated and responsible. GOOOOO GRIFOLS BIOMAT
Place is clean and the staff gets warmer the more they see your face. My only complaint is that they don't have an intercom to help you hear your name when it's called.
Pretty good place to donate. They pay more fairly than other plasma centers who pay based on weight. I started eating more meat and haven't had any more problem's with protein.
I've been donating for a few months now, the staff are awesome an the place is clean. Some days they even have a snack an drinks for donors. I will continue to donate here.
Enjoy Donating ?? Most of the staff is very friendly and professional..The phlebotomists are really professional and knowledgeable especially the lady with the red glasses and the twists in her hair..
It's okay. The good thing is that you help others in need and get some extra money on the side. The staff is awesome, the management, not so much.
My center is always super clean, which is important to me. Everyone here is friendly and professional.
I've been dealing with this place for 20 years never had no problem everybody has a different place I look at it like this it comes in handy when you need extra cash
So unbelievably ghetto, some of the staff ok to chit chat with but they joke and play too much making service sooo slow, been gone months and nothing's changed, some new staff but same problems smh
I like this place, used to go to Octiplasma and always felt bad afterwards but not here. The staff is great!! The other place everyone looked like vampires or something.
My name is Anthony Perkins and I love how all members are so respectful and very nice at helping me as I donate every year and I love helping others as well and for helping me take care of my bills and child support thank you Grifols biomat !!!
I have been a plasma donor for awhile now. The team has been great to work with.
Biomat has a great atmosphere. I love it here. Prople are bice and friendly. They get me out in a timley manner and are very clean
Jalissa and Arianna are the best. Period. They always make sure your ok and make sure you have an awesome experience.
Unprofessional, they will skip you just to direct someone they like, lazy, come in just to get skipped by someone who came in behind because they're friends
I assure you that I will never go to this one again. The people who work there are rude and unprofessional. As well as discriminating
I like the staff they are very fast and very friendly. The center is very nice and clean also quiet.
The worst place to donate plasma. To stressful and the wait is ridiculously long. I spent 4 hours on one donation. Understaffed and it's a waste of my time to donate.
Employees were rude with a few exceptions. If your iffy about donating plasma for the first time please pick a different location.
Have gotten better at drawing plasma. The only issue is that there is not enough staff to get donors out the door faster.
I love my experience. Everything is great. Jessica is one of the best phlebotomist.
Very good service, everyone has a very good attitude. The employees always work together.
I try to donate regularly and staff is always friendly with great customer service.
Biomat is a very nice way to make ends meet. This establishment is very clean and the staff are very professionally.
I go to biomaterial often and it is very welcoming and an enjoyable place to make quick money and help people worldwide!
Everyone is so friendly! They answered s all my questions and made need feel welcome
This is a great place to donate and make extra money. The employees are friendly and helpful!
This place is beyond pathetic.....everytime I come I wait over an hour just to get a bed available....the staff have NO sense of urgency moving around like turtles...its coming to the point that the money is not even worth it.
Folks here are pretty efficient if they are staffed properly.
They Need To Hire More People. You Got ppl waiting for hours and didn't get stuck.
They treat you an they make your very comfortable I like good job
Ghetto unorganized rude especially the light skin lady with the messed up eye just right unprofessional
Staff is pleasant. Many know you by name!
They're open 8 am - 7 pm and don't have corrected hours listed anywhere.
Never a super long wait and everyone has always been really polite
The staff here is very friendly and funny I would recommend this place to all my friends
The doctor who works is discriminates against Hispanics and bothers her when she speaks Spanish and does not give her the opportunity to donate
Very friendly people and best center I have been to. Love this center
Bad, just bad, run away as fast as you can...
Professional team, very clean facility. Gives you great confidence!
The staff is amazing . they are nice and friendly and always helpful

The best place in the world ??
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
