I absolutely love the staff at CSL Plasma! They're quick, efficient, and incredibly personable, always greeting me by name as a regular, which makes every visit feel welcoming. This is hands-down the best plasma donation center I've been to, they really know what they're doing! I had a nightmare visit at a CSL facility back in Phoenix, Arizona..... They actually sent me to the ER. So finding a good donation center, was paramount! My only suggestion for improvement would be better cleanliness in the bathroom

I actually liked donating for CSL but now, not only they discontinued the Irewards they also now give you less money. It was 42$ for me for the 1st donation now it's 40$. For the second donation I got 60$ and now it's 45$. It's not worth the money anymore to drive there for 25 min back and forward and be there for like 1hr with check in and donation. They make so much money from us doners and pay so less it's sad.

Staff was super kind and patient with all donors. Highly recommend to everyone who is interested in donating.

Update (2/2025): For every step forward, 2 steps back. Never enough people on the floor working to hook up or unhook. I've noticed such a closer unhook process nowadays bc you have only one person and one person can only unhook so fast. My dad recommended this place to me for some extra money, so I thought, why not? I helped him get his referral bonus and earned a few dollars myself. Fast and efficient. Made first donor experience very pleasant.

First two donations went great! But they gave me a sheet originally saying that my first three donations would be $100 each and after the second one they only gave me $50 and when i confronted them about it they refused to help me and honor what they told me originally. Absolutely ridiculous.

I am a Platinum Donor and I must say, there have been drastic improvements in their operations lately. They have increased staff, changed procedures and have oversight on the donation floor. I feel they are really trying to be more efficient!! Love the friendly staff too!

If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. The security guard and front desk personnel are very unprofessional and SELECTIVE about who the rules apply to at this location. It's absolutely unacceptable, I understand that there are rules and regulations but handle it professionally and fairly.

This place is a joke. They don't take thing seriously and their not committed to doing they're work they still need to be overlooked. The skill of the phlebotomists is unacceptable. They are clearly less trained than they used to be. It used to hurt every once and a while; now it is truly painful from start to finish, (and I am sure it is due to skill level, since I had a nonpainful stick recently when stuck by a supervisor). Takes over an hour to even get hooked up then they don't even go by first come first serve just whoever they feel like. If octa pharma wasn't less money I'd definitely recommend them over CSL.

I've been coming for about a year now and will continue to. Taylor and Cristyl up front are the absolute best and always manage to zoom me through while still be conversational and nice. I'm not on a first name basis with everyone but for the most post everyone has been lovely. The biggest issue is them being really busy at times so there might be a wait BUT it's important to remember that it's not their fault ??

I've been donating at CSL since I was 20 years old, for the past 13 years. I've seen so many positive changes over the years, but one constant has been the amazing staff. I adore Mrs. Monica, Judy and Rodger and I've never had a bad experience. Amazing folks and an amazing opportunity to save lives too.

This place is really unorganized and the people in the back are not friendly. They are really rough with the needles. This is my arm 2 days after donating. They moved the needle around so much.

Staff at this location is friendly & helpful. Everyone always has a smile on there face. The process is quick & painless- although, your first visit will take anywhere from 3- 5 hours to complete.after that usually I'm in & out with in 1-1.5 hrs.

Check in staff is extremely rude. Staff in the donation area is careless. The individuals in the donation area do not change their gloves or wipe the beds and equipment when needed. Nasty Nasty Nasty.

Stick with what you know. Haven't had too many problems beside ignorance on different angles. Not sure how the instructions are taught, but only a couple seem to be able to stick at varied angles. Me and my husband have been coming since covid started and they needed the covid anti-bodies. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences everytime we have come here. The staff has been extremely friendly and if there ever was an issue to arise they have gone above and beyond to make sure it's handle for us. Well I go regularly. I do think the staff is very friendly with some people who could use help with that. The staff who check you before you sit down often make you wait because they are busy talking about private stuff. The line usually is very long . When u get through it usually takes a very long time like 1 hr to 2 hrs before you get to begin donating. But mostly happy about the place. Just wished they would work faster. But if u go make sure u have time.

Not enough staff. Most of the time there's only 1 or 2 screeners so the wait time before you even get to the back could be 30mins or more. The screener I had the other day was on her phone while screening me claiming it was her supervisor but said I love you at the end of the call. I stopped coming here because they changed their hours without any notice due to being ?short staffed?. Maybe if they had a better work environment, that wouldn't be an issue. Either way, their started closing before I could get off work so I started going to Octapharma. Octapharma not only pays better but there's a better atmosphere there too. I've been donating here for many years and it seems the service keeps getting better as time goes by. Like any place the wait times vary day to day but it's nothing like it use to be so that's a huge plus. If you're looking for some quick cash, this is definitely the place to go

CSL is state of the art facility. The staff treat you with respect, kindness and professionalism. They are very attentive, informative and excellent at their job. The staff is okay and they don't ever seem to be super crowded. However the security guard that they have is very disrespectful and rude. I have never been rude to anyone at this facility or done anything to be talked to the way he talked to me. He's done it two times. Therefore I don't know if I'm allowed to come back to the property or not but if not oh well. The positive side is there's no jerk encounters anymore. Find a new security guard.

"You get what you give." Once you go a few times, you learn how to go with the flow. Pros: Fast money, put onto your issued pay card directly after you donation. They often give out more money for donating multiple times in a month. About half of the staff is quite pleasant & you can tell they love people. Employers are great however wayyyy understaffed! I have had to wait 45 mins before even getting screened. And once donating there can also be long waits to get u unhooked and on your way.

This location is so much more comforting and friendly than my location back home in Georgia. Coming to school here was scary enough, but the people here at CSL Columbia made me feel comfortable coming to a different location and continue coming.

The staff are always friendly and efficient and make donating pleasant. Wait times are generally short, and there's usually minimal waiting. The waiting area, restrooms, and donation area are always clean and staff are constantly cleaning to keep it that way.

Shannon is the best phlebotomist hands down!! Her sticks don't hurt, she's patient , works well with smaller veins and to top it off she is very nice. CSL on Assembly are awesome. They are super professional. I am aLeast greeted by Ms. Monica or Mr. Roger when I walk in the door. Beth is super sweet and funny through the screening process. Last but not least my fave sticker on site is Kiara, always quick, and hygiene/clean about changing her gloves. She is a big asset when donating. Definitely promote her.

It is what it is. Some days the earlier you come, the better. Some days it's the opposite. Before the pandemic, I can't lie the experience was much better. Now they are kinda understaffed. Certain staff are better than others?..if you need quick cash donate here.

I've donated plasma in a different state at 2 locations and I expected this place to be the same, they are not. The staff is extremely polite(especially for it to be 6a), it takes me no longer than 40 minutes from the time I walk into the building until the time I leave. Generally speaking I've not had too much of a problem donating here technically. However the place has the absolute slowest and unhappy staff this side of Wal Mart. Lines are far too long and move too slow. Gloves are hardly ever changed and their cleanliness policies are laughable at best. Been deferred twice this year for two month periods because their staff failed to put the machines together properly. to start the computers of this blood donation bank need better maintenance, so that they do not cause conflicts when doing the health survey for the donation, those who handle the implements such as the bracelets to measure blood pressure in donors , they are not sanitized at any time, nor are gloves changed every time they touch each donor or handle the equipment that is used for each donation, an action that I consider very dangerous, since this can seriously break the hygiene protocol and spread diseas

The customer service was very scarce. The woman at the front desk was nasty and rude to me for no reason. All I did was walk in there as my first time giving blood and the front desk lady snapped at me about not having my proof of address, which I know now that I need, but she could have been nicer about it. This was my first CSL donation center, in my total of 10 donations I have experienced the most kind and gentle of staff that works within the process of plasmapheresis. I appreciate the warm smiles and patience everyone shows each time I visit again. I recommend 5/5

I'm a regular here, and they always have friendly staff, a clean environment and decent wait times. I actually prefer this location than any other CLS plasma location in SC. Management is very friendly and attentive to your needs. A+++ ??

Rude. Un professional. Sloppy . Phlebotomy was horrible. Gave my daughter a hematoma her first and only visit bc they deferred her forever saying she had weak vain and never checked her vein ! The absolute worst customer service I've ever received. The staff treat you as though they're doing YOU a favor by accepting you for a donation. The staff that processes you (takes vitals, checks hemoglobin) are the worst. I donated and had a bruise. I went back a few days later with my daughter who donates too. Like others, I wish ZERO stars were an option! My daughter visited this location as a first-time donor. She arrived at 9am. She is still waiting for the physical at 1:40 pmm! She is being overlooked and when asking for help, she is just told they are busy. I can honestly out of all the plasma centers I have been to this one is the most professional! They try to work with you and make sure you understand everything that's going on. I like how they also keep peoples health and safety in mind and make sure your donation process won't have negative effects on you. Trust me when I say I've been to plasma centers who just didn't care , people got hospitalized. Thank you csl for your diligence.

I don't understand the negative reviews either. It takes time to get through the whole process from check-in kiosk to the end of the donation. I agree with the reviewer who said "you get out of your experience what you put in". A call to the center or a visit to their website will tell you everything you need to know about what to bring if you're a new donor. Yes, the check-in kiosks can occasionally act up, but that's mostly from the abuse some choose to inflict on them. It's not rocket science people. Tho

Super weird vibes from this place. I went once for the initial sign up and donation and everything just felt off. Everyone was just unprofessional and when it came time for my donation they didn't tell me where to sit and made me feel stupid, then the guy who was taking care of me "tried" to stick me and then missed and just sent me home (paid fortunately) but I just felt weird about the whole experience. Staff iWorks hard to make a positive donor experience, times can change on how long it takes but if you come during non-peak times you can get in and out in about 75 minutes! Love coming to CSL Plasma here and have been for over a year now.

Very friendly staff and since other locations have opened up, this Assembly St. location still is my favorite to visit. You're in and out in a hr and a half or less. Would recommend to anyone this location for the staff and other donars have a friendly welcoming spirit that makes you want to donate over and over. Some days are really fast but yet there are some other days that you just wait in the exact same spot in line for an hour. Like today, I have been waiting in line now for 30 mins and it looks like it will be another 30 easily becuz they only have 2 stickers and they are moving at one speed- DEAD STOP!

When you visit this place and other plasma places in the area, (specifically Octapharma in W. Columbia) you can easily identify the differences in quality and care. I went three times to CSL and each time, I couldn't finish with the donation. I got lightheaded, dizzy, and almost passed out once. I do have deep and rolling veins so it does take some precision. Any and everyone will try to stick you, whereas Octapharma will identify a specific person who is proficient in needling so I don't have to get pricke

A great place to come if your ever in need of some extra cash. The staff is amazing also they get you in and out.

Its extra money and its a good cause. Bring an extra phone battery and some headphones do cancel out things you don't want to hear. The sign in booths seldom work, but there are ways around it. Give yourself 3 hours of your time..(that's stretching it).

The staff are sometimes hit and miss. But I think of it as a regular store business type thing in that aspect. What I don't like is the lowball payments. If you're not donating enough to be considered for the monthly specials, they're supposed to pay you by your weight. Never had an experience to share. The front desk lady gave me every excuse to turn me away. First I needed proof of residence. I brought a letter , didn't have a date. Brought another letter. Couldn't have the yellow postal sticker on it. Next time my last name was misspelled. This time it was an issue with my ss card having a W in my name and my ID didn't plus she said I lived in a boarding house and that ie unacceptable because I'm considered a transient. Terrible. Consistently and constantly are advertising for new plasma donors and I thought I could use extra money so why not? Go in there wait 30 minutes, give them my drivers license and ID info and when they checked my arm out they said my veins were "too small".....?! What? That is simply not a thing if you have hired capable and qualified phlebotomists. Very disappointed that I wasn't able to donate. Unacceptable.

I was deferred permanently for taking a few antibiotics in the medicine cabinet, and telling them about it. Pretty unfair way to treat a 3 year veteran. Honesty may not be the best policy here, but i wasnt surprised it happened....at csl, almost anything is possible

Used to be a regular and donated for a month as regularly as I could. Then they lied about me running out of Covid-19 antibodies when in reality an article had come out the same time explaining how covid-19 plasma does not help with the defense of the virus. Co-workers usually get along but that last day I went they almost ended up in a fight. Line was almost out the door and they are beyond short staffed. An normal hour time frame always turns in 45 min to an hour longer

They ripped me off twice! First time they made me wait an extra 2 hours! then they PROMISED me to pay me extra compensation for the extra time well I never saw that extra! I went in again (2nd donation) they lied to me once again. When my donating was over the employee told me when I can donate again and my compensation $35 another employee even checked again and yes $35 well when I got home I only had a payment of $20 when I called and asked she said thats what Im suppose to be getting paid and its my faul

I live in Sumter, so this place is about 40 miles away. I went up there with a proof of address, my ss card and a picture id. They turned me away because apparently the proof of address has to be 30 days or newer. Today, I went up there again this time with several current items. I even called and asked if it was ok and they said yes. When I got there, again they turned me away saying it can't be from social security, dmv and it has to have a date on it. The first time takes a while, but after that it is only 1-2 hours. So if you have some time to spare. And want to make a difference in someone's life, check them out... you even get paid for your greatly appreciated donation!

Almost always busy and understaffed. Full of ghetto hoodrats. Will turn people away for any reason they can think of. Rude and incompetent/under-trained staff. If you do get through the screening process it's like winning the lottery. Staff member inserted needle wrong, gave me a large (2+ inch) bruise on my arm, and then I was deferred for having a bruise. Literally penalizing me for their own mistakes. Just wanted to help people and make a little extra cash on the side, but this place isn't worth the time
