No Infection control standards! Not one staff person changed gloves between clients with the exception of the nurse doing the physical assessment. This included the staff drawing labs and the techs inserting the IV catheters. In speaking to the center manager I am told this is their standard operating procedure. This is an infection hazards and blood borne pathogens are spread this way. As a Registered Nurse I am appalled at this lack of infection control and lack of standards. Clearly this company lea
These people are a joke! They treat veterans like trash!! My husband donated 3 times as part of an 8 donation promotion period and during that time was told he had to do a protein test. His results came back as ?failed?,after two weeks of waiting. He had to get re-tested, passed and He then had to wait another week and a half for a doctor to sign off on it. In the meantime he donated somewhere else, because we needed the money. They told him today that because he donated with their competition he could no l
BioLife starts off with great incentives but the reward for donations quickly declines. My biggest complaint is that the facility is not staffed properly and there is often a long wait time to be checked in. Then one can expect at least a 30 minute wait standing (yes, standing) in line to be taken into the donation area and then another 20 to 25 minutes to be acknowledged. I feel invisible. I am sure most people feel that way here. I find that the technicians are not friendly and often appear to be brand n
The people here are amazing and really take care of you. Very professional and polite. The services through the app are very plain but to the point. Corporate on the other hand likes to make up there own rules to which can twist in a way that you won't get the achievements that you have worked towards. Makes it very disheartening to continue to want to donate. I hope things change for the better in that aspect.
The staff in colonial heights was the best! I had a little issue with the computer but they helped me through it with no problems! Vera was very patient with me and the computer!Shon was very helpful about how I should eat before I come! And Towanda was the bomb, I was a little nervous but she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed answering all my questions! I love the treatment I received from your staff ??
Literally no complaints. Everyone there is awesome: courteous, professional, and friendly. Never had a botched stick. Never had any card problems. And I never see this place unclean. A breath of fresh air compared to some other plasma places I've been.
Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Waiting times vary but mostly done within one and a half hours. However we are now making less money than octapharma. Bio life has been steadily decreasing our pay every month since Sept 2024. In Sept 2024 I was getting 140 a week. Now I get only 119 a week.
Since my last review which I gave this center 5 stars, my views have taken a 360 turn. I have talked to numerous donors who used to donate at BioLife, and they cautioned me when money bonuses and other large sums are involved, BioLife began coming up with reasons, that made no sense whatsoever, why they all of a sudden were deferred from donating. Of course, that kept those folks from collecting those large sums of bonuses. Anyway, my first date as a donor was 01/19/2025. Before that, when I went for my ini
I was kept well informed at each step which helped ease the jitters of this first time donor. Excellent staff that treat you like a person instead of a number.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They talked me through the process step by step. Rob, the center?s manager took great care of me. I recommend this place to anyone in need of a little extra money.
Went through alot for them to tell me I couldn't donate because of my rheumatoid arthritis. I had ask my doctor about donating and he said I could so just a little uncertain. I had even ask my PCP about donating and she said I could donate. So I guess before trying to donate do more research.
1.14.2025 I went to go donate and couldn't because back during Covid I tried to donate several times but because they would make you wear masks back then it would stress me out and raised my blood pressure- I feel like I can't breath! It has been years, right and tried to donate again and instead of testing me without a mask and checking my blood pressure now they wouldn't without a doctors note stating I don't have high blood pressure??? Tbh they don't pay us enough to give away our precious plasma-look it
Complete waste of time. Turned away from donating three times with a different reason each time. Spent hours waiting for nothing. Don't bother, they'll find a reason to reject you.
got there at 5:10pm, waited an hour and a half for a physical and donation after checking in. I guess they forgot about me despite me having an appointment. complete waste of time.
If u have a problem with BioLife u won't be able to reach anyone at the center. I have referred 4 friends an after there second donation I have to keep trying to reach someone about paying me the referral bonus..been waiting over a week an the payment still pending when the donor has donated three times already
Bio Life is an incredibly professional and clean establishment. The entire staff in Petersburg, Virginia are truly a pleasure to deal with. Rachel, Andrea, Kayla and Jay are just a few of the amazing people that work there. I'd mention more names, but the ones I've mentioned are the ones I've had the most involvement with. They make the donor process as easy and as enjoyable as possible. I've been donating plasma for a few months now, and I've gotten to know most of the team that works there. From the front
Clean place but they don't respect your time. Not very good about relaying information; will spam you with donate please or hey winter vacation?plasma=money spam. For example the saline shortage or that computers were down and no donations could be done so they turn you away at the door.
Called and called all day to see if my results came back. Not a single answer or response to my message. Staff just stands around gossiping instead of picking up a phone.
Update to 1 start. I had to do some extra paperwork, turn all the required forms and every single time I am told I am good to donate, next appointment, sorry you can't, you need something else. Can't even call and talk to someone because you leave a voicemail and they will take a week to get back to you. Today yet again, go for an appointment and I'm told that I can't donate because something on their system only a manager can fix but they all left at 5:30 pm when the location closes at 7 pm. Awesome place
Horrible experience with this place. They offered me a new donor bonus but then after donating 3 times tell me I can't donate till 8 get another protein test. Can't do that till 10 days after My last donation, then gotta wait another 10 days for the results. Called about 80 times and no one picked up the phone. They finally answered only to tell me I won't be getting the new donor bonus because I won't be able to donate within the time frame of the donations. So I can't receive an offer they offered because
It was my first time donating and I was nervous but everyone was very kind and informative. I left without any hitches and will be back
Appt at 5:15 . I was told my blood pressure was high n had to wait 5min & I was good to go . I waited 5 minutes and went to the back she didn't stop me , say wait she has to redo my blood pressure nothing . So I was sitting down in chair waiting to be stuck for 30 minutes before she told me I had to redo my blood pressure. She watched me go back and sit down for 30 minutes before saying something about redoing my blood pressure . I didn't get stuck until 6pm?. My appt at 5:15.
My first time donating. Everybody from the front desk to the very end of leaving was super friendly and helpful. I will say the wait time was kind of long for having an appointment but being brand new I am sure they are still working out kinks. Will definitely be back either way.
First time donor yesterday. A lot of donors were there. I was impressed. The first time is kind of lengthy - but think about what you're doing. Your blood plasma is going to help someone's life! It's important they get it right. Kayla taking my vitals was so nice and friendly. She gave me clear instructions on what I needed to do. Then once I made to a lounger to give, there was Shamika! She was the best! She made me feel comfortable. She explained everything. She joked with me but was professional when it
During my visit I got the impression that staff were undertrained. During my physical the nurse was indelicate towards my mental hospitalization in my medical history, and during my blood draw I experienced a painful reaction that the initial tech responding was not trained in how to handle. I was given a care sheet on hematomas afterwards but I wasn't told anything during the incident, leading me to be confused and scared. I'm grateful I was still compensated for my time, but this experience leaves me hesi
I love the cleanliness, I was comfortable, the staff is very professional, I loved my experience.
Stopped coming to this location because of how unprofessional the staff was. The gossiping about fellow coworkers was extremely rude and uncomfortable to hear. My last donation I had a reaction and could not get help, another person donating helped get me help because my phlebotomist was on his break (unscheduled apparently I overheard someone else say). I'd rather drive a couple extra minutes to go to staples mill.
Very nice facility, plenty of stations to accommodate a lot of people. The professionalism of the staff needs some improvement. Aside from open gossiping and arguing with each other, DJ in particular seems to be a big distraction to the other phlebotomists, who are visibly and vocally annoyed with him. This is worrisome because a distraction away from the job could result in safety hazards for donors. I'd much rather be placed away from that mess. After I get the new comer?s bonus, I'm not sure I'll come ba
Everyone at BioLife in Colonial Heights, Virginia is always so polite, respectful, quick and efficient. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!!!
They've messed up on my money twice didn't get paid after donation. It's hard to get someone to answer the phone and the bank takes money back everything u swipe I'm trying to get someone to fix my money now after new Comer never coming back
I have been donating plasma off and on for 5 years and have done so in MN and Virginia in multiple facilities. When I say Kia at this site is handsdown 100% what a biolife employee should be, that is still selling her short! The care and detail she takes in her job and in each and every person in her section!! I am beyond impressed and she should be noticed and recognized for her hard work!!!! Thank you for your service!!!
Staff was great Every single BioLife staff member I interacted with from the time I walked through the door for my first donation of plasma ever were friendly professional and thorough in explaining each step of the donation process answering my questions clearly and knowledgeably relieving my anxiety about first time plasma donation completely Top notch team
Wonderful, attentive staff. They gave me all the attention I needed.
This place sucks. Why let you make an appointment if you are just going to refuse to let people donate because the workers there are too lazy to update their system? How long does it take to go into the system and change someone to approved? This place is by far the worst donation location I've seen.
1st time donor & staff were great explaining everything to me about the process of donating. 1st time is lengthy but understandable & staff are very helpful
This place is extremely rude with customer service they are not clear about what you can and can not bring for verification and certain majors have no customer service qualities telling someone you highly doubt that was said to a guest is outrageous rude I called here this morning to make sure my documentation was correct and I was able to use it when I came being that my identification card is in the mail not only was the receptionist rude but I was also told that no one ever said that to me at the end of
Very nice easy going environment , donating plasma and changing the world one day at a time. It's been a honor going to this facility, friendly environment and quick process. Fire Up The Spaceship it's Jo_alien
Nice people. I haven't had a major problem there
Don't go there. These people are completely unprofessional. They place obstacles in your way.every single time I went to donate there was an issue with them ...they wait til you go donate to tell you have to this and you have to do that ..they not medical professionals...they are unprofessional making decisions on your medicals when they have people there that have never seen the inside of a school . Don't go there.
Everyone was very patient and knowledgeable. The nurses were very personable and made my 1st donation experience at BioLife quite pleasant.
The staff is very professional I don't remember all the names but Keya and Scott made sure that I was comfortable and answered any questions I had! I definitely recommend!
Fast - Friendly - Accurate
Awesome staff love coming here The only thing is that they close to early on fridays and Saturday Makes it impossible for me to donate 2x a week maybe open on Sundays
Keya was awesome when she stuck it didn't hurt the whole experience was great only one complaint the time it took thank you Lynda Herring
The staff are very organized, nice and they know what they're doing!
The people are very nice very friendly , my girls Keya and Val always make sure I'm good
Amber is ridiculous. Always an issue here.
It's brand new and the staff is amazing. They are very welcoming especially Keya :)
Keya is the bomb. Super friendly and gentle. Professional staff. Simple process

Great staff, great environment. Speedy process
Great staff and a great place to donate
Beautiful place and the employees are nice
Place is very professional and experienced
Excellent service from Keya !!!!
Explain clearly that donation at another Plasma center will get you permanently deferred at BioLife. There should be a venue to appeal that policy position if it was not made clear by your staff. As a wartime veteran, having honorably served the nation, there should be a deference available in my case. Thank you.
Everyone Is very friendly. Didn't take long to donate like other plasma centers.
This place is really good at getting on my nerves. If it didn't pay money I would go as far to say don't go here. As I been having issues with this place since I started. Not putting the needle far enough. Skill issues with needles and collapsing veins. Leading to a deferral for 8 weeks because they couldn't give me my blood back. I'm back now it's my spe test my blood work is clouding. Which I'm poor so eating McDonald's twice a week or even sometimes three times is normal in my diet. They say 24 hrs in ad
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
