Octapharma Plasma Tampa, FL

Reviews Summary

Most reviews are negative, citing long wait times (2-3 hours), rude or unprofessional staff, poor organization, and inconsistent opening hours. Positive reviews highlight friendly, helpful staff and a clean facility, but these are outweighed by complaints about slow service, disrespectful treatment, and mismanagement. Many suggest avoiding this location in favor of others. The consensus is dissatisfaction with operational inefficiency and staff behavior, though a few donors report positive experiences with specific employees.

I love that this can be extra money in most pockets. I love the extra money. But they need better, different, professional employees. But it's a few employee one who is very sweet and caring that works in the screening. She needs to be notice. I wish I knew her name to give a correct shout out. Ja?N??.. she was floating while I was there. The boss man I don't know his name big waves he doesn't play at all gets us in and out when he falls on the floor and another lady she's concerning and sweet. Thanks.

I chose not to come back four months ago because they just up and decided to change the rates based on weight class. First off you're automatically being disrespectful because when I was just coming to donate just because I was getting a decent payout. Now you barely earn any type of bonuses and if you're not above 230 pounds you can't get the base we all were getting at one point. If anything increase folks who are in that range. What it feels like your telling me is I need to gain weight and go above me n

3rd time donating here came in got in a chair no problem than this lady yells blanket than the manager brings one puts it on me. At that point no one was staring at me after that and being singled out everyone in the room was staring at me. I feel singled out and violated?. The manager Davon or something with a D stated it's in the dress code policy. Well I looked up the dress code policy online and no such rule exists. I will not be returning I will not support a company that lies and singles out people e

I usually come here without any problems but this past time will make me NEVER donate plasma again!! Never saw this lady who poked me before, she had a damn bonnet on her head, that should?ve been the first red flag!! The second that needle went in my arm, I knew something wasn't right, I then told her so she called herself coming over and moving the needle around in my arm. She said there's nothing wrong and told me to keep pumping. Then the machine kept beeping. So another person came over & said that it?

worst experience i have ever had. they yell at you if you dont do what they say. racist slurs. unprofessional. incredibly rude. now i see why they only have 2 stars. they need to replace the staff with people who love their job. take care of people. why would you make another person feel like they are in danger when you are supposed to save lives.

I was grateful to be greeted by a warm pleasant smile, great attitude and great patience as this was my first time donating. Everything was explained in great detail and professionalism. Many thanks to Je'Nascya, I will definitely be donating here again in the near future.

Horrible place to go to Every time I come and they have me sit down the person always just walks away than I'm waiting about 15-20 mins just waiting to get poked like what in the world hate coming here really do but I do it bc I know ppl need it like my mom's. But do better hiring people. I shouldn't have to wait 15-20 mins just get poked. The works be acting like we have all day. Horrible place to go to and the ladies cry so much for doind there jobs hate this place. I should be charging the company ever m

I am being targeted and getting retaliation from the other CSl location. Today I come in and the manager is ?too busy? to remove a deferral even though I came in way before they closed. This is not acceptable and I will escalate this issue until it can't be escalated no more. I hate to say it but establishments that involve black people or in black neighborhoods are horrible and after this month.. I'll never look back and treat people accordingly. I'm going to see if I can sue for discrimination but if not?

Steer clear and go to the other location by home depot. They are so nice st that center. I went here once and never again. Employees are rude not just to donors but they are nasty to the other staff. Someone needs to get a handle on this location. You figure with such bad reviews sating the same thing they would restaff and retrain everyone. Such a shame all these people out here trying to help by donating only to be treated godawful is a shame and should be addressed immediately. Would never step foot in t

The staff here are miserable and treat you badly. They're rude and aggressive. Also, when I was having my proteins checked, the young lady doing it was talking over my shoulder to a random guest right behind me who could have seen my private medical info she was in the process of collecting. Moreover when you go to give plasma, they're sassy, rude, and unattentive to the guests. Often holding lengthy conversations instead attention to donors. I know there's a significant homeless population near, but everyo

Chris and the entire team decided they wanted to go home early on March 29th so they unplugged me early and paid me out. I wait a week for my next donation period and its unavailable. I spend an entire week trying to figure out what's wrong speaking to agents left and right. They finally tell me I have a deferral but refuse to tell me why without coming to yall. But I can't do that with no money and a 12 mile trip. I'm trying to figure out how im deferred but I did nothing wrong and im healthy but I get a d

Great new facility. Has an armed guard and fenced in. Parking lot is limited. Bus station is located next to it. This facility is located in a fairly safe neighborhood. Lots of newer structures and stores in the vicinity.

Zavion is an awesome guy with positive attitude. He's clean and constantly changing gloves . When he is working he our staff in good mood which is great

Today is Saturday November 30 2024 it is 7:33 and it is currently 40 degrees outside there are about 20 people standing out in the cold while all the employees including security are just standing around talking making us wait for the manager cause he is late ? So unprofessional so inconsiderate this is not how you treat the people coming to ?save lives early in the morning you will not be getting plasma from me anymore terrible terrible customer service and care

I've donated at many plasma centers and this is by far the worst. Employees care more about carrying on their conversations than helping people. The lines can be extremely short and it will still take 2-3 hours. The employees are very unprofessional and rude towards each other and toward guests. They like to hook up all the empty machines and call people in line up before unhooking people who are finished with their donations so it takes anywhere from 10-30 minutes to be unhooked. One guy in particular acts

Few staff members were nice. But waited for over 2 hours while staff just walked around. They screened one person in that 2 hours for the new donors. When I finally got called, I was told they didn't accept my zip code. So waited for nothing.

This place is so unorganized and the staff lack professionalism and have absolutely no sense of urgency because they want to do the least amount of work it seems so they allow the lines to get so long it takes at least 2 hours to do a donation and they only have one check in kiosk and the other is designated for the phone app which makes th wait time very long and I believe that's by design so they will do the least amount of work and hopefully discourage people from coming here. I've walked out plenty of t

Currently here by for the worst experience at a plasma place first standing in line to get my vitals checked took 25 min I sat down the lady who is supposed to be checking my vitals is talking to the secretary gard about race something that doesn't have anything to to do with work then had to take my temp 2 times because wasn't paying attention to busy taking n laughing with secretary guard then I get called to sit down to donate in back the lady messed up 2 people vein while I was waiting to get poked then

Don't come here, people will skip you, you be waiting forever. Horrible they don't care just for a small amount of money

Recently gotten back into the swing of donating plasma as I stopped back in 2019 and this year I was like what the heck why not! And especially curious to try CSL plasma and most definitely the new location. I've been to octapharma plasma which also was a pretty good place if they weren't very slow and bpl which I had a really bad experience at and sorta faulted me into stopping for some time. CSL plasma was where I came out of plasma retirement haha. First of all I love the layout and the staff is very p

I don't like the fact that they don't care I can't do the questionnaire through the app like I once was. They act act like they cared but they really didn't for the first time ever they wanted to rush me out. Doesn't even make sense my social doesn't even come through the data base when I called the contact number in the app

Closed for Hurricane Milton (which is long gone, btw) but hours of operation were not updated online and there's no recording giving this important information when you call the number to the center.

Some of the Staff at this location are incredibly rude and lazy. I went in only to ask a question about donations and the restrictions at different centers and the receptionist was giving me attitude and acting as if I was inconveniencing her by asking a question. I was literally told that she didn't want to do anything besides read a screen due to her being busy. If you value your time and want to at least get professionalism from the staff at a donation center then please go anywhere else besides the fowl

TERRIBLE place!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! I sat there for an HOUR , completely invisible to all the break taking workers only to finally seen by a completely incompetent ?nurse? , who is not a real nurse ( my son is one, I know one when I see one) . This emaciated young girl who looked completely unhealthy, then told me my 20 year old tattoo ( faded and old school, very obviously not new) disqualified me. All after 1 & 1/2 hours of wasted time. Terrible place !! Btw the place was not busy at ALL and still the pa

I've never had a problem with this location ! Staff are great process is smooth the ok boy issue is pay is not high enough after the first 5 donations but it's sterilized clean and I do recommend this location due to having the sign up for Milton , the whole 15 street was flooded a lot of ppl were out with no electricity. Business couldn't reopen due to that keep up the great work CSL !!!

Extremely long lines with no chairs to sit in while you wait. Why would you not provide chairs for people about to be donating plasma? I am young and in good health and even I feel off/dizzy after standing in one position for so long. I would wait double the time if there were chairs. I've been to other places that are so much faster AND they provide chairs. It's honestly just plain rude not to. I have left several times due to the long lines.

The donor system at this CSL location is by far the slowest process I have ever dealt with. You are on an average 2-3 hour wait just to donate. This causes the lines to be super long and super frustrating because you will be standing super close to people in line and I don't do too well with people too close and claustrophobic & tight spaces. Please, something needs to be done to improve the well known situation that still persists at this location.

The staff is always good to me and never any issues here, but they get a one star because they recently lowered the rewards $ amount for donors.

Went In today to donate 8/2/24. Got hooked up to the machine and finished my donation process. I was waiting quite sometime, and it's my day off. I have other things to do! So I asked one of the phlebotomist, if they could possibly assist me. I was met with attitude and racial slurs. His name is ?Christopher? he exchanged some words, in which he then approached me with his fist balled up. As if to hit me, and he told me he didn't care about the job etc. mind you, all this happen while I still had the needle

First time went through the whole 3 hr process to be told by one nurse she could not get my veins asked for someone else they were busy. Tells me to leave she's going to send me $10 for inconvenience that even the $10. Do not recommend this place to my worst enemy go to the one on Temple Terrace.

I hadn't been by in a very long time so I was very surprised to see how many new employees were on the floor. One of which I assume was a manager(she had on a yellow vest)?she was arguing with an employee and clearly trying to intimidate the young lady. The conversation was loud enough that we could hear Stephanie stating from the line that ?she was the manager and telling the girl she could go home?. The girl walked off and started assisting someone in another bay. Stephanie proceeded to go up to TWO diffe

If you are looking to spend 3 to 3.5 hours to make $50 or less, then this is the place for you. I have been going to this location for 2.5 months, so this review is based on over 10 visits. Positives: 1. Clean 2. The staff back in the area where you donate are really friendly, so WHEN you finally get set up on the actual donation machine, the experience is good. Negatives: 1. Time commitment: On average you will spend 3 hours from the minute you walk in the door until you walk back out the door. Some d

Constantly understaffed. They rarely have more than two staff working screening and two phlebotomists. Be prepared to take 3 hours to donate, with most of that time spent waiting in line (no chairs by the way). I'd recommend trying another location, as this one seems completely incapable of appropriate staffing for the demand that they have. The staff is friendly, but I honestly feel bad for them as they are always short handed.

Very slow! A few of the trainers are rude and the staff is definitely going to need more qualified people if they want to run an efficient center. There was blood on the screening desk when I sat down so I had to ask them to clean it before we proceeded. Donor comfort is not a priority at this location! They are more concerned about their in house timer. I will state again, getting checked in is VERY slow and they aren't following CSL policy. I was not told the perimeters or what my levels were at each s

The intake employees and the the people who take your plasma do a great job; however the place is managed poorly. There is almost always only 1 person doing the screening. This causes extremely long lines and means you will be standing next every level of society for these long periods. This causes the experience of donating to range from annoying to infuriating. There is many ways to improve this situation. One simple thing that can be done is to have people take a number and provide seating. It seems li

Once you get to know everyone it's like visiting with friends from the great staff to the other donors. It's a very clean and very comfortable place to donate. Far more professional than any other place in the city!! I look forward to donating here because there is always something that makes me laugh. You guys are much appreciated!! Keep up the good work.

This location is absolutely amazing, from the incredible managers like Caitlin down to the other amazing stuff like Tiffany from screening, Candice Kb Chris unique and von behind the scenes doing donations. The staff is incredibly pleasant and personable. The lines are never very long, and it moves quickly! Thank you CSL staff for all you do!!

The good things about this CSL branch on Fowler Ave is that all of the employees except Unique (Hence : Thank god she hasn't been around lately since i've been ther e) have shown their true professionalism to be superb and the security guard Leonard as well. Now the downside to it, lately I haven't seen anything bad happen but yes because of the location its in it brings in a bunch of disgruntled donors who do act out and cause problems with other donors and staff members but when that happens the people em

My experience today Jul 27th 2024 , I was disgusted with her customer service I asked dark skinned lady with glasses / lashes /clean cut , If Water could be replenished on table , where the crackers were , She told me they will get it? and went back seat down next to someone in a booth taking vitals etc and started talking..I asked a Security Guard he told me it wasn't his job but he did tried to find , when he couldn't, he went to this same lady, I mentioned above asking her where the water was , she tol

My husband goes to this place. He tells me, there are no chairs to donate, the staff is rude. Now, instead of saying (I'm sorry) fix it. This is wrong how you treat the people who are saving lives.I wouldn't give you a star, but it was the only way to leave a comment . And I know what the reply will be..... I'm sorry

This place opens late, there is only one person sticking people half the time and just about everybody their has an attitude, especially the women. No one greets you or ask how are you. No one smiles. It's in the hood and sadly businesses in the hood are stock full of people with bad attitudes. They think it's normal because that all they know. Avoid this place. Go to the temple terrace csl

Website says they open at 6AM so people start lining up at the door but that is never the case, best case scenario is by 9AM. Unprofessional staff that treat you like they are doing YOU a favor. Just Ghetto.

Horrible horrible horrible. Last 3 times I've gone I've been there a minimum of 4 hours each time. Lines move super slow, they are ALWAYS understaffed, and everyone there seems to hate their jobs. I see new phlebotomists every other week I go and no wonder why. I kept going multiple times to give them a chance but every time has been disappointing. Especially after making the move to the CSL off of temple terrace. Complete night and day difference. This is my first 1 star review I have ever written for any

The staff was really kind except for one lady, her name is Unique. She was very rude and had so much attitude when I would ask questions regarding my safety, it made my experience really uncomfortable. She even started arguing with the woman donating next to me and told her she didn't understand what the problem was with her. I was shocked someone in the medical field clearly doesn't care about the safety and comfort of people who have every right to be cautious of donating blood. She even got upset and co

No Courteous, No Mindful Of Clients Time, As An Employee With The Government, And We're We Practice Respect To Our Clients On A Larger Scale To Veterans. This Store On Fowler In Tampa FL, Is Dispicable, No One There Honors The Original Intent and Devotion That I'm Sure The Board Intended.

They don't answer the phone, when I get there lady tells me with a smile that it's too late and I need to come back tomorrow, tells me they're short staffed. I ask her if I can at least put my information in and register so when I come back won't take as long. She kinda just walks to the side, glances over and tells me no. LAZY & APATHETIC sad thing is these people sell your plasma for 500-1000$ that you'll pay for thru insurance if you ever need it. But you get 50 bucks for your time, pain and blood

My first time coming to this center in particular, I usually go to the center in Temple Terrace. I do NOT recommend this center for these reasons. I see a guard dressed unprofessionally, hat sideways. If something were to happen god forbid my life is in his hands. The beginning process is expected, long waits until you reach the bed off your feet after 1+ hour(s). But it is the staff that doesn't make it feel welcomed to some non regulars. After laying in the bed getting comfortable and waiting about 15 min

The staff in this csl plasma they are layers. I got kicked out/ permanently deferred because I complaint to a higher level about the staff 2 days they said I smell like marijuana and I couldn't donate so I made a complaint and the next day I was deferred supposed to be for having a attitude. My attitude that day was the complaint about the staff members being layers. So for future reference if you have a complaint about anything about csl keep it to yourself if not you will get deferred like me.

This center has let go of some great hard working employees that actually helped make this place great and left the rude, nonchalant employees that don't care about you. CAITLIN the center manager is super rude as well. This place needs to shut down or find a new center manager that knows what they are doing. She made my experience hell. NEVER COMING BACK

Yes, it may take three hours, be sure to drink plenty of water, eat some food before showing up, you eventually get to know the staff if you visit frequently, I have no complaints, 12 visits so far in three months, George Green ??

Been going there for approx. , 2 Months , no problem. Last Saturday, I had a little bit of blood come out of the donation site on my arm, no big deal, the tech reinserted the needle and plasma as usual. This morning , I do the questionaire, got the scan label, everything checks out, except I had alittle bit of bruising on my arm where I donated the time before. Told the nurse that I'd just use the other arm while the bruised arm heals and she tells me I can't donate due the fact. I get up at 5AM in the morn

This CSL is clean but because it serves a lot of homeless and indigent people they treat you like a number and it's the quickest way to get deferred. Go to the Brandon location they treat you right and it's a smaller location but the staff is wonderful.

I literally have nothing bad to say about this location, but first I want to commend the nurse Sharon, this incredible Woman went above and beyond to help me get back to donating, I've been waiting on a form from my Dr's since February, and Sharon went out of her way to call My Dr's office and get thing's shaking for me, she even traded shift's with a co-worker so she'd be there early in the AM to ensure she got a hold of the office, mere word's can't express my gratitude to you Sharon for your kindness and

Staff sucks. Wants you not to make a peep while they scream, laugh, and holler. And it takes forever and they told my son he couldnt go back and when he inquired it was because of their system error. Place is run horribly.

This is directly for the csl owner who is going to respond under this comment talking about go online. I did and all I got was an aggressive phone call from a staff member saying they did nothing wrong I don't even know why you reply under these reviews someone from a corporate office of csl needs to come check this place out

I was skeptical of going here because of the low reviews but I'm happy that I ended up going. The process was very smooth and the employees were nice and professional. Thank you Markishia and Felix.

What can I say the athletes give him one star. I work two jobs so I came to donate I'm a little tired and sleepy I don't mean to I'm the one way to chew me out most of the stuff is really really rude and inappropriate to the public

For it to be new i will never come back. Its the older black lady that is so rude. It's like she hates her job if your life is that bad maybe she shouldn't be working a job that orientated around people. Made my experience so bad and she has rude customer service whe I figure out her name I will post it on this comment.

They are crazy slow, under staffed and they prefer to talk instead of getting the donors in and out, so my advice is if u go have a empty schedule for the day and bring breakfast lunch a snack the building is good the security is good but the crew sucks

That move slow ppl checking u out have alot over conversation that has nothing to do with plasma experience I'm in the line for 1 hour not playing Fr this some the thing that make it take longer Im still in line and it happens alot at this location

I was there today to make my first donation and it's was hell been outside for more than there ours with the heat and the line moved every 45 minutes it was crazy this place have to be supervised by their superiors and they have to contract more experienced personnel In a Veteran who will love to give life others but this place it's not on the same state of mind

The phlevotomists are RUDE and give you the death stare. Learn to smile and ask everyone if they are doing OK for God sake! I mean we're donating our body so the least you can do is be kind and caring. We're human

Tbh new machines are great but the staff is miserable to deal with, also there is a big white security gaurd who i had to tell not to stand behind the nurse while she does my vitals that's a hippa law violation.... overall csl is a great place to donate but not this location....I suggest temple terrace location

They are pretty fast great staff just pay to little

The staff is very helpful and friendly, the location is very clean, i really enjoy coming to this location

The employee Zavon is a really great worker. He's very kind, generous, and was also very helpful throughout the entire visit! If you see this thank you Zavon.

Cynthia is one of the most fast efficient hard working team member you all have she gets the job done she makes you feel comfortable through the whole experience thank you for all you do

Horrible place ? don't come to this CSL

Oh my gosh it was quick and fast and I had a great time while I was there the staff was most excellent and they were really professionals

Very slow, self centered bunch, line never got shorter, kept getting longer, worse experience ever got here at 930 it's 1230 still waiting

Worst center in Hillsborough county, "Sometiming" , and NEVER a dull moment. Total 'Clown-show'. ?? Hopefully they get it right. (BOFL) . ????

Punctuality people. Twice in one week, the staff was late, and doors were delayed. Unacceptable

I was treated with disrespect and wasn't given my full money with this company on Fowler terrible customer service

Ima try to go tomorrow

Super slow unprofessional. Got there at 2pm still sitting here at 4:39pm to get stuck. All the staff wonder off.

Did they closed down? Or are they still open it says temporary closed on this website and this is my favorite place to go donate

I always have a great experience here, the staff is always nice and friendly

It is my 4th time donating and I recieved less than I was told I would receive.

Called setup a appointment. Was told to come out. Drove out to be told there to busy to see me. Wasted my time.

This place seem like they don't care for there staff or people

Great experience. First time donating and it was busy but I was in and out in an acceptable timeframe

I love the way the staff makes you feel comfortable and unique always listening and caring for me. Thanks Csl .

This place even though it's a new the staff is bad?.the nurse and a guy that works on the other side where they remove the line?some are nasty?I wouldn't recommend this place?I will go somewhere else.

Great place with friendly and helpful staff. They take good care of there people

This is definitely worth the money ???? and the staff are very excellent ?? at all that they do definitely the best plasma donation company hands down...

Very inexperienced people worst plasma center around. Management is no good fire all n rehire new crew

Staffing issues have caused them. To open late for days now

They don't even pick up the phone I've been calling for 2 hrs haven't talked to anyone yet

Great staff, very professional and always a pleasant experience.

They told someone they can't donate because they don't have some one who speaks Spanish I'm so confuse we have now Google translator

I be honest since everyone wants to lie they are hella slow pace

Love this place everyone is very helpful , is clean , keep up the good work

Don't go there..liers..the money's not what they say or advertise

First time donating and the guy rather talk and joke with everyone instead of seating people

Nice courteous staff and a smooth process.

Love the new location. So much closer to me.

This place will still have ROYAL ALL OVER IT

KEEP UP THE JOOD WORK

Excellent staff front to back

Will not be coming back.

Slow and understaffed

Super slow and unprofessional
