The front desks ladies are absolutely rude, unfriendly, unhelpful, lazy and worthless! My husband called over a week ago to make an appointment and the rude lady in the phone told him they didn't have openings. He recently went and the lazy front desk lady told him very rudely that they didn't have appointments and right away gave him a card to call a number where nobody answers!! Thankfully a customer kindly told my husband to access the portal and that way he finally got to make an appointment. Those ladi
I donated blood today. Did some checking.. very disappointed in the management and their financial transparency. BE AWARE They sell your donations to get these Salaries. We donate our time, money (cost of transportation) and Blood and it would be nice if they would do a cholesterol test.. I asked why they stopped doing these tests...I was told it was TOO EXPENSIVE.. Next donation will be via the Red Cross.
I have only the best things to say about this donor center! I've been coming here consistently for over 3 years and absolutely love it! ?? The staff is consistently prompt, friendly and thorough. I was in/out in about 20min from start-to-finish today WOW! ?? I wanted to give a special shoutout to Maria today though because she just absolutely was a ray of sunshine and made my day! Plus they've done a wonderful job remodeling and refreshing the space/equipment. Don't hesitate, just book an appointment - it?
find another location if you can. this one is the worst - staff is super rude and inconsiderate of your time. all the negative reviews are spot on. very disappointing. how hard is it to be nice to people? if you do make an appt here, block off about 3 hours of your day.
I really really really want to give a good review but am still in the waiting room after almost an hour. Giving blood is great and I have no problem doing it but there must be a fast way to do it. The incentives are really great! But the staff was short with me because I had my kids with me. I was getting tons of calls asking to come, now I did, and it feels like they don't really care. 2 people have already walked out because of the wait and I have 1 more ahead of me still. I wish it was better staffed and
Ally was wonderful! Very professional and thorough. I told her I was a little nervous for my first time back post baby, and she was very understanding and made it easy for me to donate! Hardly any wait for my appt.
It was my first time donating I was super nervous but the workers there worked really good with me. They made sure I was okay and they were kind to the other people there too. I ate good before and after and despite the 103F I felt good. I will be going more often for sure.
I made an appointment to give blood. I knew they were busy and behind on appointments so I waited patiently but after an hour they completely skipped me. I should have know by the way the lady treated me. She asked everyone else for their license and other questions but did not ask the same of me for what ever crazy reason. I sent in some feedback online but no one ever got back to me so you get this one star review.
Went in on 6-11-18, as soon as they opened to donate. The waiting room was half-full of people ready to donate. The woman at the desk asked if I had an appointment, to which I said "no". She informed me that the wait would be an hour and a half. Considering I drove all the way from Boerne to donate, I told her I would wait. I could tell she did not like that and I had a feeling that she was hoping I would leave. After a 5 minuet wait, she informed me that I was ineligible to donate until the 13th (as such i
Showed up at 10:30 am. I didn't realize they didn't open til 11. Knocked on the door to ask, nobody even glanced my way. I checked google and saw they didn't open til 11. So I patiently waited. Walked in at 11 only to find out it's by appointment only, doesn't say that on google or on the door. This place needs some serious training on customer service. The front desk attendant was very cold. You'd think for being a place that you donate blood to save lives would have ppl that cared enough to be friendly or
Not sure if they are over booking or under staffed but when you have an appointment you shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to be seen - I keep hoping it will get better but it may be time to find another place to donate - the staff is also unfriendly and disorganized - checking in people before me who arrived after me with the same appointment time. I'm going to try a weekday next time to see if it's just the weekends...
Every time I make an appointment from automation blood donation I have to wait as appointment times don't matter. In Katy when I do automation the experience is quicker and smoother than in New Braunfels. I made an appointment today because I was called by STBC. I was turned down because i had a shingles shot in October even though I asked if that was a problem before I made my appointment. In the future I am only going to give when I travel to Katy.
My son & his wife had covid early in June. They called repeatedly wanting to give plasma and couldn't get a call back for weeks. My son & I are both 0- ( and in great demand) and I try to give blood frequently, but it is very difficult to get and answer & usually you can't leave a message. If they need our blood so badly, they really need to improve communication. Everyone has answering machines!
I love donating here! Not only do they have the best staff (courteous, informative, and friendly), but they also have pretty good incentives - movie tickets, food coupons, t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. It's a great experience every time. Also, if you donate platelets, they have a wide variety of movies you can watch during the process.
I made a mistake on my part and did not eat a full within five hours of donating a blood, so I got lightheaded a few times and eventually fainted. The sweet ladies that work here took such good care of me. They definitely went above and beyond.
Had a great experience donating blood here. No wait time and really friendly staff. I know they'll contact me again, but that's okay. Blood is really needed to save lives.
It took 2 hours to give 16 minutes of blood. I don't mind donating one bit, but I do mind when my time is wasted by slow, indifferent-seeming employees. There needs to be another person helping with the initial workup. One lady was very busy while others did very little. Out of off the chairs in the actual donation room, only two were used while several people waited in the outer room. Ridiculous.
Turned away twice with no one in the waiting room and plenty of empty donor stations. Not sure what kind of business model they are using but it doesn't seem to be about getting free blood from a willing donor.
I had a terrible experience there with seemingly uncaring staff and an over one hour wait time although i had an appointment. I was drinking lots of water, went to the bathroom and missed my turn. Another wait. Although it was my first attempt at donation there, I dont plan to return.
Never had to wait more then 15 minutes quick in and out free snacks after if you need it.
This place is as unprofessional as they come. Staff dig to find veins and ended up blowing vein out. Then they hush hush and skirt you out the door. I have pipes and no one has EVER had an issue. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.
Appointments are useless. You still end up waiting over an hour before you're called back. You would think it would be easy to donate for a good cause.
Showed up five minutes early.Did paperwork and was prepped for donation. Maria and the rest of the staff are very efficient and friendly. Great experience today!
The short lady with black hair and glasses is brutal, I have dominate veins easy to see. I can't walk around looking like a Junky! I'm never going here again! This is day 1-3 since donating
I like donating blood here. Professional staff is friendly and makes sure I'm comfortable every time. They offer drinks and snacks afterward.
I think these people are lazy. Supposedly blood is needed badly but if you go in and sneeze, you're out. When I call to make appt, the mailbox is full and not taking calls. I will drive further to another donor center. This is such a shame.
Worst place to donate blood, unless you have a few hours to waste in an empty center as the staff stares at you waiting for you to leave. They sell your blood for money, and make you waste your day to help them profit. I can't explain how much I despise the laziness of their staff.
I dealt with Debbie today and she was super caring, courteous, informative and professional! First time donating. It was a really positive experience.
I don't often give one star reviews, but hopefully this picture gives you an idea of the general level of competence at this location. It was taken 1.5 weeks after my blood draw.
Elizabeth took great care of me. I'll definitely be back!
Horrible, uncaring, inconsiderate, selfish staff, they care only about leaving "on time." Just horrible! They either don't know what they're doing, or they are purposely trying NOT to process voluntary donors so that they don't have to stay longer. I'm disgusted.
The phlebotomists working here are very professional, efficient and friendly. Now is the time to go, too, because there is great need.
I will never come to this place again. staff was very rude and unsocial. a couple weeks later I received a phone call from one of the managers that I was "tongue flicking" one of the employees and I offended them greatly. overall a very unprofessional business.
The people that answer the phones here are MISERABLE!!! If you don't like your job, work somewhere else. Being put on hold and constantly sent to voicemail on purpose because you don't want to talk is rediculous.
Have donated there many times, staff is always friendly. Sometimes there is a small wait, but never excessive.
Very friendly and considerate. They explain and talk you through everything.
Always doing their best to make your visit your best visit yet! Helping the world go with the gift of life. ?
I love this place! I give platelets every 2 weeks. Staff is wonderful. The environment is always friendly. I recommend going here.
Sometimes there is a wait but not excessive. Staff is very nice and friendly! Great experience!
I love this office! No wait when you have an appointment. Everyone is always super friendly.
Pathologist Pamela made my blood donation experience fast and fun. I will definitely be back.
I was turned away because I was 2 days away from the date that I could donate, I guess they are not in need of blood
Fast in and out. Fantastic staff.
Always have a pleasant encounter
Plasma donors can get disqualified for a list of different reasons, which may result in a temporary or a permanent deferral. Common reasons people get a temporary disqualification may include being dehydrated, taking certain medications, getting a tattoo within the last 4 months, or being pregnant in the last 6 months.
Donating plasma can get busy with donors and long waiting times. To donate plasma faster, choose a plasma center that allows you to book an appointment online and take your health screening questionnaire remotely from home. Additionally, call your local plasma center and ask for the least busy days and times of the week.
Most phlebotomists recommend that you take a day off from working out or lifting weights on the same day as your plasma donation. Instead, take the day to rest, eat well, and drink plenty of water after your donation.
Plasma donors are legally capped at two donations per week or 7-day period, with at least 48 hours in between each donation.
Before your plasma donation, it's recommended that you drink plenty of water (4-6 eight-ounce glasses), and eat a meal with high protein and iron content. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking on the same day as your donation.
